We Highly Welcome The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Between China And Venezuela- Fred M’membe

WE HIGHLY WELCOME THE COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN CHINA AND VENEZUELA

We resolutely support Venezuela’s just cause against external interference.

And we highly welcome the elevation of China’s relations with Venezuela to a “comprehensive strategic partnership”. This puts Venezuela in the very highest of relations with China.

The hierarchy is:

  1. Mutual defence treaty. (DPRK is the only one at this, the highest level).
  2. All-weather strategic partnership (only two in this group – Pakistan and Venezuela).
  3. New era comprehensive strategic partnership (only Russia is in this category).

Venezuela deserves and needs the support of all progressive peoples, especially that of the Chinese people.

The visit of President Nicholas Maduro to China was only announced after he had landed. Here is President Xi Jinping’s statement today:

On the afternoon of September 13, President Xi Jinping held talks with Venezuelan President Maduro, who was in China for a state visit, at the Great Hall of the People.

Xi Jinping said, “I welcome your Excellency’s state visit to China. This marks your 5th visit to China since taking office as President, which fully reflects the brotherly friendship between China and Venezuela.

“China and Venezuela are trustworthy friends and partners in mutual development. China has always viewed its relationship with Venezuela from a strategic and long-term perspective. We will continue to firmly support Venezuela’s efforts to uphold its national sovereignty, national dignity, and social stability.

“We resolutely support Venezuela’s just cause against external interference. I am delighted to jointly announce with you the elevation of China-Venezuela relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

“Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between our two countries. I am keen to work with you to map out a blueprint for the development of China-Venezuela relations, consolidate and deepen cooperation in various fields between our two countries, bring more benefits to the people of both nations, and inject more positive energy into world peace and development.”

This is very clear and strong.

Press Statement By The Chief Govt Spokesperson On The Decisions Made By Cabinet At The 15th Cabinet Meeting Held On Tuesday, 5th September, 2023

PRESS STATEMENT BY THE CHIEF GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON ON THE DECISIONS MADE BY CABINET AT THE 15TH CABINET MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, 5TH SEPTEMBER, 2023.

The President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, called for the 15th Cabinet Meeting in the Year 2023, on Tuesday, 5th September, 2023, at State House, where the Draft 2024 Budget was deliberated on including other policy issues.

Cabinet made the following decisions:

1. The 2024 National Budget:

Cabinet approved the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure (The National Budget) for the Year 2024.

The 2024 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure have been prepared in accordance with The Budget Policy Concept Paper on the 2024-2026 Medium Term Budget Plan which was approved by Cabinet at its 11th Meeting held on 12th July, 2023.

The Minister of Finance and National Planning is expected to present the 2024 National Budget in the National Assembly on Friday, 29th September, 2023, in line with Article 202 (1) of the Constitution of Zambia.

2. Declaration of Critical Minerals as Strategic Minerals for Zambia’s Development.

Cabinet approved the declaration of critical minerals such as copper, cobalt, lithium, tin, graphite, coltan, manganese, nickel, Rare Earth Elements (REEs), gold, sugilite, emeralds, diamonds and other minerals which Government may deem as strategic minerals essential in accelerating Zambia’s development.

The declaration of critical minerals, as strategic, will result in the formulation of the strategy on critical minerals which will stimulate Government and private sector participation in unlocking investments in the mineral value chain, thereby translating in the creation of more jobs as well as enhanced exploitation of the critical minerals to contribute significantly to the national treasury and to the country’s development.
3. Opening of Missions Abroad:

(a) Opening of a Resident Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

During the Meeting, Cabinet also deliberated on matters of foreign relations. One of the issues approved by Cabinet was the Opening of a Resident Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in order to enhance bilateral relations and promote economic and political cooperation between Zambia and the UAE.

The United Arab Emirates, is a federation of seven Emirates. The constituent emirates are Abu Dhabi (which serves as the capital), Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain. Each emirate is governed by an absolute monarch who jointly form the Federal Supreme Council. One of the monarchs is selected as the President of the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE’s oil reserves are the seventh-largest in the world, while its natural gas reserves are the world’s seventeenth-largest. The UAE’s economy is the most diversified in the Gulf Cooperation Council, with its most populous city of Dubai emerging into a centre for international trade and transport.

The United Arab Emirates estabilished Diplomatic Relations with Zambia in 1982. The two countries have since continued to enjoy warm and cordial relations that have created a platform for strengthened economic and political relations. Currently, Zambia’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt is also accredited to the United Arab Emirates.

Zambian Foreign Policy of 2014, whose main focus is Economic Diplomacy, provides a unique platform for which Zambia could explore the possibility of concluding bilaterial agreements in a quest to solidify and strengthen the two countries’ bilaterial relations with emphasis on economic sectors, through the opening of a Resident Embassy in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

(b) Opening of a Resident Embassy in Doha, State of Qatar.

Cabinet also approved the opening of another Resident Embassy in Doha, State of Qatar so as to enhance bilateral relations and promote political and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Republic of Zambia and the State of Qatar enjoy warm and cordial relations. The two countries have maintained diplomatic relations since they were established. Currently, Zambia’s Ambassador in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is accredited to the Qatar on non-residential basis. The Zambian Government desires to consolidate relations with the State of Qatar through enhancing cooperation in various economic sectors.

The economy of Qatar is one of the greatest in the world, based on GDP per capita, ranking among the top richest countries. Petrochemicals and fertilizers supply make up a large portion of the industrial base, along with steel and other construction materials. It has the world’s third largest natural gas reserves, making it one of the world’s largest exporters of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and also has the largest gas fields with its oil and gas reserves accounting for over 60 percent of its GDP.

Therefore, with a Resident Embassy in Qatar, the Zambian Government has a lot to benefit from economic ties with the State of Qatar.

4. Hosting of the 19th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme Partnership Platform.

Cabinet, in line with its policy direction that Zambia should host as many international Conferences and Meetings, as a way to boost tourism, approved the hosting of the 19th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme Partnership Platform (CAADP-PP), to be held from 1st to 3rd November, 2023.

Zambia is repositioning itself to be a breadbasket of the region and meet the domestic and regional demand for food. The country has also embarked on diversifying its agricultural production. Therefore, hosting the 19th CAADP-PP is important as it will provide Member States and other stakeholders with an opportunity to engage with one another as well as to share best African practices and leadership that have the potential to engender inclusive economic growth, benefit smallholder farmers, boost food production and end hunger across the African Continent.

186 SQUATTERS EVICTED FROM PANJI’S FARM

186 SQUATTERS EVICTED FROM PANJI’S FARM

At least 186 squatters have lost their houses during an eviction exercise at Panji Kaunda’s farm in Vubwi District of Eastern province.

The squatters were removed from 31 houses during a crackdown by police in Mchocho village of Chief Pembamoyo following a court order.

ZANIS reports that the squatters are now appealing to the Government to intervene since they have nowhere to go.

Headman Mchocho, Allan Phiri, noted with sadness that the affected families are now spending nights in the cold following the eviction.

He said the families have been occupants of the said area for more than 98 years hence considering the land as their own.

“Panji Kaunda only bought the farm, which only extended to Sindabwankho and not our village in 1986, we were here before him,” said Headman Mchocho.

Mr Phiri who acknowledged being served with notice of eviction on a number of occasions accused negotiators of not doing justice to the land dispute adding that they had been discriminated against considering their poverty status.

He has since called on well-wishers to come to the aid of the evicted families through legal representation as they decide to take the matter to the courts of law.

“We are poor people asking for help from well-wishers, people are afraid of Panji because he is a high commissioner,” he said.

The headman said the villagers were not given due representation throughout the court process leading to the torching and demolition of their houses.

“We were only given the court order and not summoned to court to give our side of the story on the matter,” he said.

However, according to Colonel Panji Kaunda, efforts to amicably resolve the land wrangles between him and the people who had encroached on his farm have failed despite engaging them on several occasions.

“There are about ten families that have been squatting on my farm for a long time. I followed all the processes, at first, I reached out to these people so that we could address this issue but they were adamant. These are people who have villages but they strayed to my farm. At last, I engaged the office of the permanent secretary Eastern Province so that these people can be engaged. But again, they were adamant to move. Even in this same court order to remove the people it was delayed because we thought the people could move on their own but they couldn’t,” he said.

Colonel Kaunda, who is Zambia’s High Commissioner to Malawi recounted that only one family occupied the land at the time he purchased it but the number of occupants has since been growing.

“There was only one couple when I was buying the farm but the people came later. All efforts to resolve this issue failed and the court is the last option,” he said.

Colonel (Rtd) further encouraged complainants to seek legal redress if they felt aggrieved by the eviction.

This is however not an isolated case for Vubwi District as the area has in the recent past witnessed an eviction of families from Lossaco Farms and, in a separate incident, alleged threats of another eviction of more than 3,000 people from D98 farms.

Tell Us The Areas Where The Cost Of Living Has Reduced With K34 We Also Want To Go There- Hon Saili Mavegie Phiri

TELL US THE AREAS WHERE THE COST OF LIVING HAS REDUCED WITH K34 WE ALSO WANT TO GO THERE.

Hon Saili Mavegie Phiri shares…

Unfortunately so much has been said about Lungu returning back into politics no one is understanding why Lungu seems not wanting to give up on politics.

There has been consistent persecution and mockery of Lungu’s family and Friends by the current govt. They are forgetting the human side of Edger Lungu. He has people he feels like he can fight for. His people are being arrested everyday on political hate . Whatever is happening in the country right now has the potential to cause confusion in the country, When this topic is brought to public attention, praise singers will always respond in relation to how HH was arrested when he was opposition, But my question when are we going to heal?

Chikanga Mandela who stayed 27 years in prison forgave colonial masters, what more President HH who stayed there for 127 days? Why is he not forgiving and making peace? What we need is peace, stop fighting each other, At this point Zambian politics are becoming more scary. As it stands Lungu is willing to take a bullet for his people who have been loyal to him since the time he left power. You maybe thinking that when Lungu lost power then he lost everyone from the look of things Lungu still has a good % of sympathisers who wouldn’t want him to be hurt in any way.

Don’t say that when he returns back into politics he will regret, he may regret or not regret. Any plot against him may lead to so much tension amongst people of different political parties. If UPND was performing according to people’s expectations, any move against ECL would be justifiable but as it stands UPND has done nothing to justify any action that it might use to justify their actions against the former president.

Truth is that even if ECL was to decide to come back to politics today nothing would happen to him. There is literally nothing that would justify the current govt to keep doing whatever they are doing against its opposition .If we were to rate UPND’s performance, we would say it’s a govt that has succeeded to use the employment of teachers and nurses to gain political mileage otherwise rest vinasilila muma campaigns. It’s fun to see how UPND govt is performing better on Facebook than it is performing on the ground Lol

Some weeks ago we saw posts on Facebook showing the commencement of the LUSAKA NDOLA dual carriageway, there is nothing happening anywhere. UPND sometimes behaves like a social media Govt. They enjoy Facebook likes than reality. It is behaving like our social media celebrities who are living a fake life on social media at the same time sleeping hungry in their homes.

Hichilema’s Vision For Zambia’s Constituency Development Fund Takes Inspiration From Chinese President’s Rural Transformation

HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’S VISION FOR ZAMBIA’S CONSTITUENCY DEVELOPMENT FUND TAKES INSPIRATION FROM CHINESE PRESIDENT’S RURAL TRANSFORMATION

President Hakainde Hichilema embarked on a transformative journey to Fuzhou, the capital city of China’s Fujian Province, drawing inspiration from the remarkable success story of Xiaqi Village’s poverty alleviation. The village, once marginalized and impoverished, witnessed a dramatic turnaround during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s tenure as the governor of Fujian Province from 1999 to 2002.

Under Xi Jinping’s leadership, Xiaqi Village became a shining example of targeted intervention and resource mobilization, lifting its residents out of poverty and transforming it into a modernized community.

The transformation extended beyond economic improvements, as the village’s education system also received a substantial boost, resulting in the production of university graduates contributing positively to the nation.

President Hichilema expressed his deep admiration for these accomplishments, drawing parallels with his vision for Zambia’s Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

During his visit, he highlighted the commitment to eradicating poverty in Zambia through the enhanced CDF, which decentralizes resource allocation to empower communities across the nation.

“Zambia’s citizens, regardless of their backgrounds, parentage, or language, will have equal opportunities to pursue their aspirations,” President Hichilema reiterated during the guided tour. He emphasized that discrimination has no place in their vision, as they strive to address the challenges faced by all citizens.

Hakainde Hichilema’s visit to Xiaqi Village serves as a testament to his determination to replicate the success of targeted interventions and poverty alleviation witnessed in China’s rural communities, fostering hope and prosperity for Zambia’s rural population. The enhanced CDF, he believes, will be a powerful tool in achieving this ambitious goal, uniting the nation in the pursuit of a brighter future for all Zambians.

SOLDIERS “ABUSIVE” WIFE GETS BAIL

LONGWE Ngosa has today been granted bail by the Lusaka Magistrates Court after spending more than a month in police detention on a charge of assault on a child.

The 29-year old is accused of repeatedly assaulting her four-year old step son.

Ngosa of MC2A 78 Apollo military camp in Lusaka west pleaded not guilty to assault on a child before magistrate Mutinta Mwenya.

It is alleged that Ngosa between April 1, 2023 and July 31, 2013 assaulted a minor under the age of 16.

Speaking barely above a whisper, Ngosa then asked the court to grant her bail as she had been in detention for a long time.

Magistrate Mwenya admitted her to K3, 000 cash bail on conditions that she provides two traceable working sureties who should be residents of Lusaka.

She adjourned the matter to October 11 and directed that Ngosa will only be temporarily released upon meeting her bail conditions.

Immediately the magistrate made a proclamation on Ngosa’s release her husband Justin Bwalya who was clad in a Liverpool jersey and brown chino pants sprinted out of Court to organise sureties and bail logistics.

The child’s abuse was exposed after a video interview with his teacher was widely spread on social media.

In the video, the teacher showed the boy’s little body covered with countless scars of whip marks which he said had been inflicted on him by his “mommy”.

The survivor had abrasions on his face and his hands which he alleges were inflicted on him by his bonus mom.

However in an interview with Kalemba the child’s father Bwalya said his wife could not inflict pain on his child as she was compassionate contrary to the public’s perception that she was wicked.

He said on one occasion while talking to the child via a video call, he noticed the sores on its face and upon inquiry, his wife explained that the child fell from the table and landed on a mug cup hence the injury.

“As a father that was away, I believed whatever I was told because I was away for a long time and Ngosa, my wife was the one taking care of my son,” Bwalya explained.

He indicated that despite noticing the bruises and scars on the child’s body, he never suspected his wife of abusing him because she started taking care of him even before the two were married.

ZRA RECOVERS OVER K10.6M IN TAXES

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has recovered over K10 million which the Government has earlier lost through tax evasion by four companies in Kitwe.

In its quest to crack down on tax evasion on the Copperbelt, ZRA instituted criminal proceedings against several companies namely: Eagles Eye Transformation Limited and its Director Lifen Tang aka Linda, Taurus Mineral Resources Limited and its Director Lifen Tang aka Linda, Mineral Junxion and Transport (Z) Limited and its Director Xing Tang and Focus on Equipment Limited and its Director Xing Tang.

The said companies and Directors were prosecuted on charges of false statement and returns and of evasion of taxation contrary to sections 43 and 44 of the Value Added Tax Act Chapter 331 of the Laws of Zambia before the Economic and Financial Crimes Court sitting on circuit in Kitwe.

Facts of the cases are that Eagles Eye Transformation Limited, Taurus Mineral Resources Limited, Mineral Junxion and Transport (Z) Limited and Focus on Equipment Limited and the Directors Lifen Tang popularly known as Linda and Xing Tang on dates unknown but between 1st January 2020 and 31st August 2022 in Kitwe, provided Tax Invoices to Zambia Revenue Authority purporting to show that Eagles Eye Transformation Limited, Taurus Mineral Resources Limited, Mineral Junxion and Transport (Z) Limited and Focus on Equipment Limited had purchased taxable goods from other companies based on the Copperbelt which was false, thereby defrauding the Government of the Republic of Zambia of revenue.

Further, that in the same period and jurisdiction the said companies and their Directors fraudulently recovered Value Added Tax and interest amount of K10.6 million by providing false returns that taxable supplies were made to Eagles Eye Transformation Limited, Taurus Mineral Resources Limited, Mineral Junxion and Transport (Z) Limited and Focus on Equipment Limited by several Copperbelt based companies when in fact not.

The actions of these companies caused loss of revenue to the Government of the Republic of Zambia in taxes and interest amount of K10.6 million.

The accused Companies and Directors entered into Plea Agreements with the State (Zambia Revenue Authority) on conditions that; the accused companies pay back to the State the evaded taxes and interest; that the cost of prosecuting the cases incurred by the State in the sum of K1.2 million be refunded; that the Company Directors plead guilty to all the charges levelled against the companies and upon satisfaction of all the terms and conditions the State would withdraw the charges against the Directors, respectively.

When the matters came up before the Economic and Financial Crimes Court the State informed the Court that all the terms and conditions of the Plea Agreements had been satisfied by the accused persons, that is payment of the evaded taxes and interest in the sum of K10.6 million and refund of the cost of prosecution in the sum of K1.2 million bringing the total sum paid to the State to K11.8 million. The State proceeded to withdraw the charges against the Directors.

The Directors Lifen Tang aka Linda and Xing Tang pleaded guilty on behalf of the companies as company representatives on all the charges of false returns and statements and evasion of taxation levelled against their companies.

In sentencing the convicted companies, the Court indicated that it was going to exercise maximum leniency because the convicted companies had paid back to the State all the taxes that were invaded and also refunded to the State the cost incurred in prosecuting the cases. The Court sentenced the convicted companies to pay fines in the sum of K35,200 which fines have since been paid.

The Zambia Revenue Authority would like to sternly warn all taxpayers that any taxpayer found wanting will now be prosecuted to the fullest extent permissible by law. The citizens are encouraged to pay their fair share of taxes as Zambia will only develop if we all paid our taxes

David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa’s Journey to Deputy Minister of Finance: Unveiling His Qualifications and Experience

In a recent and somewhat contentious move, President Emmerson Mnangagwa appointed his son, David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa, to the position of Deputy Minister of Finance and Investment Promotion.

His appointment as Deputy Minister of Finance has raised questions about his qualifications and ability to address Zimbabwe’s economic challenges.

As the public scrutinizes this appointment, it’s worth taking a closer look at the qualifications and background of the man now responsible for a crucial role in Zimbabwe’s government.

“I Spent The Whole Day In Disbelief”: David Mnangagwa Reveals His Reaction To Cabinet Appointment

“I Spent The Whole Day In Disbelief”: David Mnangagwa Reveals His Reaction To Cabinet Appointment

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son, David, expressed his disbelief after being appointed as the Deputy Minister of Finance and Investment Promotion, taking on the role as the second in command of the treasury department.

In an interview with New Zimbabwe, David expressed his elation at the appointment, despite the challenges that come with being in charge of the toughest ministry in the country.

“Naturally I am elated but there is quite a huge expectation, to be a deputy minister in one of the toughest portfolios and also expectations from the constituency.

“You know I spent the whole of Monday in disbelief wondering if I will wake up and will still be there,” Mnangagwa said.

Balancing Act Ahead
David acknowledged the challenges ahead and said he would play a balancing act between the interests of the youth constituency and the task at hand.

“You find yourself in a situation where you have to play a balancing act between the interests of the constituency which are the youth to create opportunity, participation, and at the same time deal with the situation at hand,” he said.

Tackling Economic Issues
David’s appointment comes at a time when Zimbabwe’s economy is in turmoil.

He emphasized that the Finance ministry will focus on resolving issues related to microeconomic stability and curbing inflation .

“Naturally the issues to do with microeconomic stability and curbing inflation that we still need to look at,” he said.

David also mentioned the success of the Nationwide Digital Seedling Programme (NDS1).

He expressed excitement for the future, stating that the trickle-down effects of NDS1 will be apparent by 2025.

“We are quite fortunate in that the financial management team has already been working flat out to bring the fundamentals out with NDS1 seeing Zimbabwe’s economy being the fastest growing in the region that’s a testament to the success of the program.

“You will find that as we reach 2025 which is when NDS1 ends we will see the trickle down effects

“So I am excited to receive my mandate from my immediate boss Mthuli Ncube who will be the delegating authority as to what duties I am supposed to take in the dispense of my duties.

“It’s a matter of rolling up our sleeves, adding my hands to the deck of hands that are already there and moving forward,” Mnangagwa said.

Opposition and some critics have lashed out at President Mnangagwa’s decision to appoint his son, accusing him of nepotism.

Shock in Zim as Mnangagwa family capture key government institutions

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s ministerial appointments this week have given Zimbabweans food for thought with glaring evidence showing that the First Family has now captured key institutions in Zimbabwe.

While Mnangagwa is the President and his wife Auxillia automatically the First Lady, the Zanu-PF leader appointed his son Kudakwashe David as Deputy Minister of Finance.

He also named his nephew Tongai Mnangagwa as the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality.

Already, one of the President’s sons, Sean Mnangagwa is a top officer in the Presidential Guard.

Mnangagwa is being criticised over his appointments with critics arguing that he is creating a family dynasty.

What has been the reaction?

The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) said the President’s decision was “worrying”.

“Particularly worrying is his appointment of his son and nephew as deputy ministers of finance and tourism, respectively.

“Equally disturbing is his retention, from the previous government, of several ministers who were rejected during his own party, ZANU PF’s primary elections, and in general elections,” they said.

“The reappointment of old and tired loyalists exacerbates concerns about the lack of commitment to fresh perspectives and innovative ideas within the regime.

“It is also concerning that to accommodate friends and family, Mr. Mnangagwa has expanded the cabinet from the previous 22 to 26 ministries or government departments. The bloated cabinet raises serious questions about the regime’s commitment to using the nation’s resources prudently.”

Another opposition party, the United Zimbabwe Alliance (UZA) said Mnangagwa’s new cabinet failed to meet the expectations of many Zimbabweans who are suffering from a collapsing economy and a moribund local currency.

“Prices of basic commodities have been on an upward trend, pushing many Zimbabweans, especially the underprivileged into abject poverty.

“UZA had hoped President Mnangagwa’s cabinet would show, at least, his concern and efforts to turn around the economy and the fortunes of the people of Zimbabwe, especially young people who bear the brunt of rising unemployment.

“Instead, the newly appointed cabinet falls short in a number of respects, the following in particular:

“The President’s brazen display of nepotism by appointing his son David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa as the Deputy Finance Minister and his nephew Tongai Mafidhi Mnangagwa as Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality is synonymous with dynastic succession and should never be condoned in a democratic Zimbabwe,” noted UZA.

Mnangagwa is also facing backlash from the public after retaining Kirsty Coventry as Sports Minister. Coventry, in 2022, was ranked last on the list of cabinet ministers who performed well.

Despite failing to revive the economy during the last five years, Mthuli Ncube was retained as Finance Minister.

Rwanda signs nuclear power generation deal

0

The Rwandan government has signed a nuclear energy generation deal with Canadian-German nuclear company, Dual Fluid, as the country takes a big step in exploring nuclear in expanding its energy sources needed to power its development.

The first outcome of the deal signed this week by the Rwanda Atomic Energy Board (Raeb), will be the construction of a demonstration Dual Fluid nuclear reactor in the country, to be operational by 2026.

What will follow is testing of the Dual Fluid technology expected to be completed by 2028.

The nuclear energy project is expected to contribute up to 300 MW to the grid, according to Raeb CEO Ndahayo Fidele.

“This deal is intended to expand Rwanda’s energy generation mix, Dual Fluid has patents to this technology, it will provide laboratory equipment and set it up, train our people in this technology and conduct tests.”

“Next will be the construction of a plant to generate nuclear energy to be added to the grid,” said Ndahayo.

In the deal, the government of Rwanda agreed to provide the site and infrastructure for the project, while Dual Fluid is responsible for the technical implementation of the partnership.

Dual Fluid aims to realize an entirely new type of nuclear fission, based on liquid fuel and lead coolant, that could exponentially increase the performance of current nuclear power.

The new reactors will be used to produce electricity, hydrogen, and synthetic fuels at costs below those of fossil fuels.

Ndahayo said this project will help Rwanda meet its growing energy demand to boost the development of its industrial sector and build an economy that is resilient to climate change.

Rwanda is increasingly establishing strategic cooperation partnerships with start-up companies involved in the design and development of small modular nuclear reactor technologies.

“Rwanda is actively involved in efforts geared towards utilizing nuclear to generate energy, this comes in addition to the existing small modular reactor technology,” said Infrastructure Minister Ernest Nsabimana.

It is indicated that the dual fluid technology has in-built nuclear safety design features that make it accident-free.

The technology will produce relatively low amounts of radioactive waste that will be safely managed, in line with existing international radioactive waste management safety standards.

“Our demonstration reactor will show that a better, far more efficient way of generating nuclear energy is possible and within reach in the near future,” said the Dual Fluid CEO Götz Ruprecht.

The country faces an uphill task of closing a 30 percent electricity access gap, from its current 70 percent rate, if it is to achieve its universal access (52 percent on-grid, 48 percent off-grid) targets by the end of 2024.

Estimates show that about 44 percent of Rwanda’s energy sources are renewable.

Currently, the country’s total installed capacity stands at 332.6 MW from different power plants.

51 percent is from thermal sources, followed by hydro sources (43.9 percent) and solar sources with 4.2 percent

Alien bodies’ revealed in Mexico dating back 1000 years

0

In Mexico City yesterday, two bodies of creatures believed to be not human were shown at a meeting in Congress. This surprising action is expected to cause a lot of discussion and debate worldwide.

The bodies were said to be ancient extraterrestrial remains that are 1,000 years old. Journalist and ufologist Jaime Maussan presented this information.

Mr Maussan, while testifying at the San Lazaro legislative palace, said that these samples are not from Earth and were not discovered after a UFO crash. They were discovered in diatom mines and later turned into fossils.

During a long meeting in the US government, people talked about strange things that have happened that they can’t explain. This happened a few weeks after another meeting about the same topic. But, things happening in Mexico City turned out to be much more intense.

Mr Maussan said that the specimens were examined by scientists at the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM). They were able to study the DNA and use radiocarbon dating to determine the age.

He said that over 30% of the samples’ DNA was not recognized, and the experts in the meeting mentioned that one of the bodies seemed to have eggs inside.

Normally, fossils that have been studied a lot don’t have sand on top of them.

Maussan said that the public should have information about technology and beings that are not human. We are discussing something that brings humans together, not divides us.

‘We are not the only ones in this big universe, and we should accept and welcome this fact. ‘

The person who studies unidentified flying objects (UFOs) was accompanied at the meeting by a former pilot from the US Navy named Lt Ryan Graves, who spoke at a hearing in July held by the US Congress. Also present was Professor Avi Loeb, who is a professor of astrophysics at Harvard University.

‘Bodies of extraterrestrial beings’ displayed in Mexican Congress.

Professor Loeb presented findings from his recent study on small round objects found in a space rock that likely came from beyond our solar system. He suggests that these objects could be signs of advanced technology created by extraterrestrial beings.

He spoke to the Mexican congress and said it was proud of us to believe that we are the only ones alive on Earth. He suggested that there might have been other creatures on the planet before people.

He also talked about the case of Oumuamua, a strange object shaped like a cigar that didn’t act or look like a normal comet. The professor had suggested before that it might be a ‘light sail’, which is something made by aliens to move using sunlight.

In the meeting, they showed videos from the military of many unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). One video had 11 lights in the sky, seen from a fighter jet.

Many scientists and politicians believe that UAP exist, but there is disagreement about where they come from.

Some people think the objects come from outer space, while others think they are secret military activities.

During a hearing in July, David Charles Grusch, who exposed secret information about unidentified flying objects (UFOs), claimed that the government was keeping evidence of alien vehicles that were still in complete condition hidden from the public.

Lt Graves, who leads the Americans for Safe Aerospace organization, mentioned that UFOs were widely known among fighter pilots. He shared an incident where two jets had to quickly change direction to avoid colliding with a strange object. This object was described as a dark grey cube inside a transparent sphere, which remained stationary even in the face of strong winds.

More than 5,000 people buried in mass graves in Libyan city destroyed by ‘tsunami’ flood

0

Many people died in a very bad flood in Libya and their bodies were buried together in large graves.

Over 5,000 people have been reported dead in the tragedy that happened in Derna on Sunday. There are concerns that 10,000 people are missing and cannot be found.

The flood happened because of a strong storm that broke the dams close by. This let out a lot of water that destroyed at least a quarter of the city by the Mediterranean Sea.

The floods caused both buildings and the people who lived in them to be washed away.

On Monday, the director of a hospital in the city shared that they have counted 1,700 dead bodies at their hospital. Additionally, 500 more bodies have been buried in a different area of the city.
Around 10,000 people are thought to be missing, and it is believed that many have been taken out to sea.

Mohammed Qamaty, a person who helps out for free in Derna, said people who save others were still looking for the people who got hurt or died.

He asked all the young people in Libya with a degree or medical experience to come and assist them.

‘We don’t have enough nurses, so we need assistance. ‘

Videos after the event show lots of water flowing through the tall buildings that are still standing and cars that have been turned over. Later, there are dead bodies on the side of the road covered with blankets, ready to be buried.

People who live there said that the only sign that something bad was happening was the loud noise that happened when the dams were breaking. There was no system in place to alert them about the danger or a plan to get them to safety.

According to reports, many bodies were placed on the floor in hospital hallways. People are still searching for their missing family members as more dead bodies were brought in.
One person from Derna named Mustafa Salem said that he has already lost 30 members of his family.

Today, trucks with bulldozers and aid supplies were going to the city.

The flood caused a lot of damage, turning over and damaging cars and leaving the streets of Derna filled with rubble, mud, and debris.

Pictures taken from space of the city before and after the disaster reveal that a previously small river running through the middle of the city has become much wider. All the buildings that used to be next to the river are now gone.

There is a lot of damage in different parts of the city where flood waters came out, and buildings are missing.

The cities of Soussa, Al-Marj, and Misrata were also impacted by the storm on Sunday.

The rescue missions become difficult because Libya is divided politically.
The officially recognized government called Government of National Unity (GNU) is located in Tripoli, which is in the western part of the country. Derna is located in the east, where there is a separate administration and Commander Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army has power and control.

On Tuesday, Libya’s Prime Minister Abdulhamid al-Dbeibah, who leads the government in Tripoli, said that the floods were a huge and unusual disaster. The leader of Libya’s Presidential Council, Mohammed al-Menfi, is asking for all the people in the country to work together and be unified.

Derna is a town located around 250km to the east of Benghazi, alongside the coast. It is surrounded by the nearby hills of the fertile Jabal Akhdar region.

The city was once a place where fighters from the Islamic State group established themselves in Libya, following the downfall of Gaddafi.

The United Nations (U. N) The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said that teams were sent to help immediately. Qatar and Turkey governments have quickly sent help to Libya.

HICHILEMA’S FREE FALLING KWACHA- Fred M’membe

HICHILEMA’S FREE FALLING KWACHA

The Kwacha seems to be in free falling trend. It is now selling at K21.26. Interesting, the nation is not being informed on what measures Mr Hakainde is taking to mitigate this situation.

Zambia is import dependent, therefore continuous depreciation results in imported inflation which means cost of goods and services will continue rising, thereby, killing the already constrained consumer.

As an example, at the current rate of Kwacha depreciating, one can safely predict a further hike in fuel prices at end of September – unless they perform some magic.

It would really help, if Mr Hichilema can give us a clear explanation on way forward to reverse this negative trend. All we are hearing is $17 billion investment pledges from ZDA, consistent signing of MoUs on every presidential visit. When will all these activities translate into the well being of our citizens.

Has the Bank of Zambia stopped the undesirable intervention using international reserves? Though undesirable, when the going gets tough, then the tough gets going, so at least we can get get a temporary respite to this free falling currency crisis.

The impact of this depreciation is heavily felt at the high end of our society, who pay school fees in dollars, overseas students support and so on and so forth.

At the bottom end it is felt via general increase in pricing. If one had to translate the general workforce salaries in dollars, you will have a heart attack so I won’t go there.

So the question to Mr Hichilema is: why is the Kwacha continuously depreciating, what measures are being put in place, when will mining dollar revenues stop declining being the major source of forex supply?

This occurrence is despite Zambia still not servicing its external debt. What will happen to our exchange rate when debt service resumes? We are in for a long haul.

It’s no longer about tightening our belts but probably heading to just cutting our waists!

Chibolya woman found with a case for defiling boy in exchange for K10

0

A 40-YEAR-OLD woman of Chibolya Township has been placed on defence after being found with a case to answer for allegedly repeatedly defiling a nine-year-old boy in exchange for K10.

A court heard yesterday that medical examinations conducted on the juvenile showed sores on his penis and exfoliated foreskin.

Doctor Theresa Muzyamba of Kanyama General Hospital told Lusaka magistrate Mutinta Mwenya that medical test revealed that the boy’s penis was also swollen and that the child had rush on the abdomen.

The court heard that the juvenile’s penis notably had sores and skin exforiation,” Dr Muzyamba narrated.

She further informed the court that the child was later linked the One Stop centre for counseling.

” The examination on the child was consistent with allegations that the boy was defiled,” the doctor said.

In this matter, Martha Sampa is accused of repeatedly sexually abusing the nine-year-old boy whom she paid K10 after the act.
Sampa , who is accused of sexually abusing the boy on three occasions, is charged with defilement of child under the age of 16.
The alleged incident happened between November and December last year.
Evidence isthat during that period, the victim was sent to buy some cooking oil within Chibolya Township when he met Ms Sampa who introduced herself to the child as Anna before asking him to accompany her home within the township.

It is alleged that the women promised to give the boy K10 before taking him into her house where she undressed him and also removed her clothes before touching his genitals.

She allegedly put the boy on top of her and had sex with him.

Afterwards, Ms Sampa allegedly gave the victim K10 and asked him not to tell anyone or his parents about the incident or else doing so would attract a beating from her.
She also allegedly told the boy that should would be giving him K10 each time and that the two meet.

It is alleged that the alleged sexual act happened on three occasions before the child shared the ordeal to his parents and healthcare givers after he had some rush on his genitals.

The boy is reported to have revealed that Ms Sampa, who he could identity, had been having sex with him.

Yesterday, the court found Sampa with a case to answer and placed her on her defence which will commence next month.

UPND is naïve, Lungu and M’membe will shock them

EDGAR LUNGU IS JUST A CELEBRITY-CORNELIUS MWEETWA

UPND is naïve, Lungu and M’membe will shock them
News Diggers Opinion

HONOURABLE Cornelius Mweetwa, the UPND spokesperson says the ruling party doesn’t get moved by the kind of reception given to former president Edgar Lungu wherever he goes because government understands that he is a celebrity. He was reacting to an incident where residents in Kapiri Mposhi surrounded the former president when he stopped over to buy some commodities on his way from the Copperbelt. Some Zambians have been arguing that Mr Lungu is still popular and could pull a surprise if he challenged President Hakainde Hichilema for the top job in 2026. Honourable Mweetwa who is also Southern Province Minister says this is impossible and does not give sleepless nights to the party in power.

Honourable Cornelius MWEETWA: “Political popularity is not measured by the cheers you receive. Political popularity is only measurable through the ballot. Cheers alone can’t give us statistics of popularity. As a party in government, we’re not moved by the reception that president Lungu gets wherever he goes. President Lungu is a celebrity at various levels. He’s a celebrity because he was president of this country. And when he was president of this country, he did a lot of strange things that include dancing like no other Zambian president has danced before. That sets him apart from the rest as a celebrity. So this issue of president Lungu, how can we be scared of someone we defeated when he was in government? If he wants to come back, he should not be measured against us the UPND. It’s his democratic right. The problem with politics is that sometimes people will cheat you and you won’t know. By the time you discover, it’s too late”.

The sarcasm about Mr Lungu being a celebrity is well crafted. This is actually one thing we like about Honourable Mweetwa. He has political wit befitting of a government communication specialist. You don’t always have to fight and fight even what doesn’t deserve to be fought. Identifying a pissing contest and staying out of it is good political strategy, and we feel this is what Honourable Mweetwa is doing. The only problem is that his confidence is too much for the prevailing state of affairs in the country.

It’s dangerous for the UPND to downplay public sentiments about the continuously increasing cost of living. It’s dangerous for them to ignore the prevailing public discontent. It’s even more dangerous for them to underrate any machinations and maneuverers being assembled by their political opponents. What the UPND and Honourable Mweetwa must understand is that this celebrity status they are bestowing on Mr Lungu is so real to some of our citizens. To them, this might all be a joke; they may see Lungu as a political clown jumping from one spot to another looking for attention. It will be wise for them to realise that this clown is actually a more experienced politician.

Honourable Mweetwa says “the problem with politics is that sometimes people will cheat you and you won’t know, by the time you discover, it’s too late”. There is no better advice that anyone can give to the UPND beyond this statement. We know that a lot of people are lying to the UPND now by telling them that Lungu is not a factor and that it’s impossible for the ruling party to lose power within five years, given the margin by which it won the 2021 elections. Unfortunately for the UPND, Zambian voters now understand the powers they wield and are demanding that the ruling party honours its promises. By the time the UPND will realise that people were lying to them, it will be too late.

We don’t think Mr Lungu made a good president for this country. We don’t think he should ever be given a chance to rule Zambia again. In fact, it will be very sad if he and his family will succeed to escape criminal charges. We know that many Zambians feel the same way but this is different from saying that his come-back is impossible. Although he is not wanted by well-meaning Zambians, he has the potential to come back in many different ways.

The UPND doesn’t need to reinvent their own political lessons. If they look back into recent history, they will see that what might happen to them already happened before. When Michael Sata kicked out Rupiah Banda, the defeated politicians found a way of bounding back into power without actually being on the ballot. All Rupiah had to do was pick his horse and bet all his earnings. We believe it is now public knowledge that Rupiah cut a three tier deal before throwing his weight behind Mr Lungu. The conditions were that if Lungu’s PF wins, he would be let off the hook in court, his fugitive son Henry would be allowed back into the country and The Post newspaper would be closed. This was very important to Rupiah, but we don’t have enough space to explain.

We don’t need to remind our readers that these three conditions were met within the first few months of Mr Lungu being elected president. He was elected in January 2015, in February of the same year, police arrested and detained the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Mutembo Nchito, in July Rupiah was acquitted of corruption charges, and by June 2016, The Post was close and liquidated later that year. In the meantime, Rupiah was busy appointing ministers and running State House through Lungu. That’s what politicians can do.

The UPND think-tank, if they have any, should be very worried when they see Socialist Party president Dr Fred M’membe sharing a light moment with Mr Lungu during a time of need. These are two politicians whom no one would imagine peacefully looking into each other’s eyes, let alone joking and laughing. This is politics. The UPND cannot afford to ignore Lungu and underrate Dr M’membe at the same time. That’s political naivety. Dr M’membe is a very experienced politician who learnt and achieved a lot while controlling the country’s political narratives for over 25 years. Him offering solidarity to a man who killed his media empire cannot happen by accident. They know what they are doing, and if the UPND doesn’t get the message, it will be too late for them – as Honourable Mweetwa put it.

To us, if the M’membe and Lungu alliance comes to fruition – which is a high possibility, it will be a good thing because it will keep the UPND on their toes. Listening to them, we get the feeling that they are too comfortable. They are still fantasising over the 2.8 million votes. They can’t even see that Dr M’membe has been swallowing the PF. They are still doing nichali bobu nichali chibotu nichali bobu….!

JACK MWIIMBU HAS NO POLITICAL WILL ON REFUGEES SAYS ACHBISHOP MPUNDU

JACK MWIIMBU HAS NO POLITICAL WILL ON REFUGEES SAYS ACHBISHOP MPUNDU

…says from the moment of his Episcopal ordination on 17th December, 1972, to his retirement, he has dedicated his life to aiding “the least of the brothers and sisters of Jesus” who sought refuge in Zambia.

Lusaka, September 13, 2023 (Smart Eagles)

The failure by Minister of Home Affairs Jack Mwiimbu to discharge his mandate to naturalize refugees who qualify for Zambian citizenship is reflection of a lack of political will and missed opportunity to conclusively address the refugee issue through existing legal channels says emeritus Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu.

In a statement released today, Archbishop Mpundu said the process to naturalise refugees began when the previous regime enacted the Refugees Act in 2017 and received substantial funding from the international community, with the intention of locally integrating them into our communities but has continued to stall.

“It deeply concerns me that the current Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Hon. Jack Mwiimbu, has not taken steps in the last two years to invoke Section 49 of the Refugees Act, 2017,” he said.

Archbishop Mpundu says Zambia must show greater concern for the legal status and well-being of the approximately 17,305 former refugees and their children who have lived in Zambia for over two decades, and yet, they are denied citizenship.

While commending President Hakainde Hichilema for approving a national refugee policy, Archbishop Mpundu observed that immigration authorities continue to wantonly incarcerate refugees, depriving them of the opportunity to engage in income-generating activities for self-sustainability and the chance to seek quality medical care.

And Archbishop Mpundu has cautioned President Hichilema regarding any reckless decisions regarding the repatriation of refugees to Rwanda instead of Geneva on the genocide that happened in 1994.

“While I acknowledge the concerns raised by President Paul Kagame, we must recognize that individuals accused of committing genocide were tried in the Arusha Court on Rwandan genocide, a process completed with Zambia’s cooperation,” he said

Zambia currently hosts 89,100 refugees with 17,305 refugees being at the verge of being stateless by virtue of the cessation clause declared in 2013

Smooth IK’s secret to staying forever young!

Smooth IK’s secret to staying forever young!

If your favourite pass time activity is drinking alcohol till your oesophagus speaks to you, I am sorry to report that aging gracefully can never be your portion. And if you’re a sugar junkie like me, I have the same news for us. Unless we change our ways, we can never be like Innocent Kalaluka, alias Smooth IK, who literally refuses to age! I mean, this guy has been running ZNBC’s Smooth Talk for the past 22 years but his face and body don’t seem to be aware of this.

During the Growth Podcast last week Wednesday, Smooth IK was asked how he managed to stay forever young and he attributed it to the fact that he had never taken alcohol and had always led an active lifestyle.

“Firstly, I was very privileged not to partake [in alcohol]. And I have no issues with that, people that abuse, it is always abuse in everything. People that abuse alcohol especially will have their skins starting to fall, there’s that kind of way that you look if you’re abusing alcohol. The people who smoke, even their lips look different. There is cause and effect, if you are going to take a lot of alcohol, something is going to give,” he said.

“So, I think I am very lucky that I have never taken alcohol, never smoked and I have always been a sports person. And also, I started a lot of things very late in my life, I think that helped, I had a very strict brother, who I didn’t like very much to be honest because I felt he was too strict on me, I felt certain things I should have started doing like he was doing, he was stopping me from. He passed on, and it is only later that I realised that maybe God had a way of speaking into my life, maybe God had said he was going to be my guardian angel, so he is not going to start the girls thing, he is not going to smoke, he is not going to drink, I didn’t do a lot of things growing up. My first sexual encounter was in college because even though he had died while I was in school, it had become me and I was very shy also; I couldn’t approach a girl.”

Smooth IK said whenever he watches a football game at home, he exercises for the entire duration!

“I deliberately take a lot of water, I deliberately exercise, it is a regime for me. When I am watching football at home, I have that stationary bike, there’s a time I read about how football is 22 fit men chasing around an inflated animal skin while thousands of people who need the exercise sit and watch. So, I was like I am never going to watch them exercising, I am going to watch them while exercising, by the time the game is ending, 90 minutes, I am sweating, I have exercised. So, I don’t need to go to the gym, those days I used to go to the gym a lot but I don’t need to now, I built my own little gym at home. I am not about building muscle but cardio,” he said.

On the Wednesday that this episode of the Growth Podcast aired, my article titled “Sugar is sweet poison” was published and I just love the coincidence! My article got a lot of engagement on our social media platforms and I remember one comment which read, “Everything basically kills us, why not die with sweet treats”, I chuckled when I saw it, but I think Smooth IK’s life offers the best response to that question. So, I caught up with him and asked him some follow up questions, what I learnt will stay with me for a long time.

Firstly, one thing I loved about his story is that he NEVER gets sick. Why is this so intriguing to me? Well, from my observation, non-communicable diseases like type two diabetes and hypertension have kind of been accepted as normal for a certain age bracket in our society. But Smooth IK is a good example of what a good diet and exercise can do for someone. This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t crave junk food like the beloved Big Bite 2 from Hungry Lion, he does, but he deliberately doesn’t eat it as frequently as others do. Others can argue that maybe he just has some good genes but from my conversation with him, whatever he has achieved in terms of his body and looks is out of discipline, deliberate effort and a lot of sacrifice.

“There’s so much sugar in our food. Everything is oily, it’s fried, but it has to be a deliberate policy that I am not going to eat this. I mean, we all love what we call Hungry Lion, it is Zambia’s number one snack, and it is nice. But for me, it is a treat, I will treat myself to Hungry Lion, it is not the norm so when I eat it, I even say ‘today I am going to eat Hungry Lion!’ I will buy the chilly one, I will eat, but I don’t eat it every day or every week, I can eat it once a month and the same applies to everything else, I can eat ice cream maybe once a month. I eat everything else, except for red meat, but it is in doses because it is not very good for the body,” he said.

In fact, he says the majority of the food he eats is from home because he wants to know exactly what is in it.

“What I eat is controlled. For example, here at work, some people have never seen me in the cafeteria. And there’s nothing wrong with the cafeteria but I just want to know what is in my food, I want to be in control of what I am eating. At home, there’s food that is cooked, I know how it is cooked. My wife knows what I like and what I eat so why can’t I carry that food and eat it from here? That way, I am also saving on money, and somebody shouldn’t say Lozis are stingy,” he said.

Another thing Smooth IK does everything possible to fuse into his day? Exercise. He says he actually drinks a lot of water because the constant visits to the toilet allows him to get some more exercise in! And when he visits some high-rise buildings, he takes the stairs rather than the elevator even if he’s going to the 13th floor!

“One other thing I do, I take a lot of water because also, going to the loo is a good thing, it keeps you exercising, at least you move instead of just sitting. One reason why we have a lot of [people getting] hypertension is because most people just move from their cars to the office, sit on their chair and that’s it. If they’re taking very little water, then they won’t even stand up at all. So, I move around a lot. I don’t take lifts in buildings that have lifts; if I can do the stairs, I will. I go to the Ministry of Sports and Fumba (Chama), Pilato, is on floor number nine, I walk there. Jason (Kangwa Chileshe) is on floor number 13, I walk there. By the time I am coming down, I am even feeling my legs, I have exercised,” Smooth IK said.

“You have to find time for your body. It is sad but you only have one body to live in, there is no Plan B, so just take care of it.”

Now, to be this high on energy, one has to have their mental health on point. So how does Smooth IK take care of his mental health? He simply doesn’t let other people’s problems stress him. And when he has his own problems, he deals with them while knowing fully that some things are just not within his control.

“When you post on social media that you have lost your aunt, what does that have to do with me? It’s your aunt; talk to your family members. If you are crying, you are showing us tears that your aunt has died, in truth, we really don’t care, we don’t know who your aunt is and I am saying this respectfully. You can’t tell us about your whole life, then we do what? If you want me to send you an emoji, I can do that, but it doesn’t mean that I am crying with you. Just do you, work on yourself…what I can’t change, I just live with. Sometimes we stress over something we can’t do anything about,” said Smooth IK.

There you have it friends, Smooth IK’s secret to being forever young. Now, do me a favour. You know that friend of yours who hates reading? Kindly inform them that my chat with Smooth IK is up on my YouTube channel (Chat With Mukosha) so that they too can benefit from the gems he was dropping. I can assure you that some of them just typed comments complaining about the length of this article because they’re too lazy to read. We’ll keep gossiping about them and they’ll never find out, LOL.

My Response To Hon Given Lubinda Who Accused Me Yesterday Of Being Miles Away From Destroying PF- Miles Sampa

0

By Miles Sampa

Lol kuti waseka…

MY RESPONSE TO HON GIVEN LUBINDA WHO ACCUSED ME YESTERDAY OF BEING MILES AWAY FROM DESTROYING PF

1) So says a man who was the PF Presidential ticket campaign manager for the 2021 general elections when same PF lost power by close to 1M votes. Unprecedented for a ruling party in Zambia or Africa to lose by such a margin.

2) So says the man who has held the PF hostage last 2 years masquerading as the Acting President when the PF constitution has no such position. So says a man under whose advertisement directive, I amongst other paid to his controlled PF account K200,000 ($10,000) for party Presidential elections that have not taken place close to 2 years now, says a man whose illegal reign at the top has led to massive defections to other political parties of key members of the PF namely Paul Moonga,Antonia Mwanza, Father Bwalya, Kelvin Kaunda, Geofrey Lungwangwa etc etc,

3) So says a man that has not produced financial statements for the party and all income & expenditures are a secret, says a man who is facing a contempt of court case under High Court Judge Katenekwa for defying the injunction restraining him and Nakachinda from stoping me enjoying my party rights or defaming me until case is disposed off. Also continues to make illegal appointments despite the restraining order not to perform those duties. A man who risks a bench warrant and same as he misled Hon Nixon Chilangwa on conduct over matters in court and might end up same direction.

4) So says a man that the PF founder Michale Sata (MHRSIEP) once called treacherous and fired him as Foreign Affairs Minister and was about to expel him out of his party PF and was me amongst others that begged Sata to rescind the decision.

5) So says a man who has sold in 2022 a piece of land in prime area of Lusaka and same land had a title deed in the name of PF meant for the construction of a new party headquarters. Him with Nakachinda and others agreed and sold to a known Chinese man at $1M cash and to date those funds have not been accounted for to the party general membership. Partly why he and Nakachinda have been avoiding the over due mandatory gathering of PF grassroots members called general conference to being postponed close to 10 times last one year each time they have set a date.
When I take over PF, this land transactions I intend to audit and get prosecuted anyone found wanting so people learn not to eat assets or money for political parties.

6) So says a man who was found with a corruption case to answer 2 days ago involving thousand of US dollars when was Agriculture or Justice Minister and should have resigned yesterday from his illegal position in PF so as not to put the name of the PF in disrepute.

7) So says a man the grassroot of PF accuse of being selfish and stingy despite all the benefits PF gave him as Minister.

8 ) So says a man I beat with huge votes by far in the 2014 extra ordinary general conference in Kabwe to replace Sata after he died.

9) So says a man who since being imposed on the illegal position as Acting President of PF, has only found it fit to suspend one out of 10 presidential candidates and one out of millions of members of the PF and on both fronts his name is Miles Sampa. He has not found it fit to discipline anyone else. It’s just Miles Sampa he loves or hates so much and had to suspend him while has ignored acting on anyone one else. Guess except Miles all membership behave well 110% during his illegal tenor that is coming to an end very very soon.

10) So says a man been there for him both in his good or bad times last 15 years since was introduced to me by Sata but has now agreed to be hired and used as my political mercenary by know PF hijackers like Nakachinda whose only political success story is destroying political parties while milking cash and resources from former republican Presidents. The Nakachinda led hijackers of PF have their days numbers aswell. It shall be liberated from their greedy jaws.

* So between him and me; who is already miles away after destroying PF and now holding it hostage to make sure it’s buried completely and then form own party after pointing fingers or blame everyone except himself and Nakachinda 🤔

A case of pointing a finger at someone while the big thumb points back at own self.

Sad to have to respond to a man I loved (still do love) so much but what to do if he is throwing dirty falsehood mud at me as ordered to him by the hijackers of PF.
I should have listened to Sata. Abakulu tabapusa akabe. MHSRIEP.

Anyways tubomba na Lesa and will triumph regardless of the several hired Goliath towards me😊😍

PF will make history by bouncing back to power – Nakacinda

NEWLY-announced PF Secretary General Raphael Nakacinda says his party will make history by being the first Zambian political party to bounce back to power after defeat.

In a statement after assuming the role of Secretary General of the former ruling party, Nakacinda called on party members to remain resolute and ignore detractors.

“…we are definitely yet to make history by being the first political party in our country to bounce back to power as a renewed, reformed, rebranded and tested revolutionary force for our people,” Nakacinda stated.

He thanked party leadership and members for his appointment as Secretary General saying they had shown unity in the last two years.

“By extension, may I also express my appreciation to the entire nation , friends and those beyond our borders who have shown their support for our cause. We are truly stronger together, and your belief in our mission inspires us daily, he stated.

Nakacinda urged for continued hard work in the party.

“Remember, I can’t do this alone, but together, we are an unstoppable force for positive change. Let’s continue to work hand in hand for the betterment of our nation,” he said.

“At an appropriate time, we shall engage the general public through a presser to unveil the specific marching orders from our party leadership on our tour of duty as Sectretary General. Both our long term and short term deliverable goals,” he added.

Nakacinda’s installation as PF Secretary General is a strategic move by former president Edgar Lungu who sees him a as critical component in his scheme to return to the helm of the party in readiness to contest the 2026 presidency.

Using his henchmen, Lungu is working to ensure the PF does not hold an elective general conference to choose a new leader and has been successful thus this far.

After losing elections in 2021, Lungu wrote to Cabinet saying he had retired from active politics.

However, Lungu has u-turned on his decision to quit politics after his associates convinced him that the prevailing high mealie meal prices would work in his favour if he contested the presidency.

Lungu’s comeback schemes will end in tears – Miles Sampa

FORMER president Edgar Lungu’s schemes to return to active politics will end in tears, PF Matero member of parliament Miles Sampa has warned.

Sampa who is along seven other candidates aspiring for the PF presidency made the remarks in reaction to PF’s newly-installed chairman for mobilisation Bowman Lusambo’s claims that Lungu was the party’s president and that no time did he leave active politics.

After losing power in 2021, Lungu announced his retirement from active politics and relinquished the PF presidency.

However, the former president has secretly reversed his decision after his associates convinced him that he stood a high chance of winning the 2026 presidential elections given the prevailing high mealie meal prices.

Lungu is now working to prevent the PF from electing a new president as he schemes his return to helm of the party.

But speaking to Kalemba in an interview, Sampa advised Lungu to give up attempts of returning to active politics as those pushing for the agenda will become fewer when the consequences of former presidents returning back into active politics visit him.

According to Sampa Lungu and his advisors are nothing more than a clique of bad students of political history whose agenda shall end in tears.

“They are just bad students of political history. It will end in tears. It’s the same clique of master hijackers that failed to re-stall the then former MMD and former republican President Rupiah Banda (MHSRIP). They should have learnt that Zambians don’t accept come backs at that level. They never learnt and hopefully this time they will learn once and for all,” said Sampa.

The former Lusaka Mayor further advised Lungu to instead imitate the good examples of his fellow former leaders such as, Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania, Thabo Mbeki of South Africa and Olusegan Obasanjo of Nigeria who are currently enjoying their former presidents’ status because they had remained neutral in politics.

Sampa added that he is only against Lungu being misled back into active politics because he loved him as his brother and former republican President.

“I love him as my brother and former republican President and that’s why I am against him being mislead back into active politics. He stands more dignity to keep around his name and legacy if maintains status of former President. This pushing him will become fewer and fewer when the consequences of former Presidents returning back into active politics visit him. Examples are over stating from KK, FTJ, RB, Jacob Zuma, Donald Trump etc,” said Sampa.

Further, Sampa challenged c Lusambo to show proof that Lungu never retired as PF president given that, the Courts have a letter written and signed by him on August 28, 2021, which was submitted to show that he retired as party President.

“I challenge him to show proof that the former PF and republican President ECL never retired from PF given the Courts have a letter submitted to show that he retired via a letter he written and signed by on the 28th of August, 2021. The case is active under High court Judge Katenekwa by the way and so ba Lusambo is also now flirting with contempt of court,” said Sampa.

Does Acting PF President, Given Lubinda, have the right to appoint Raphael Nakachinda as party Secretary General?-LAURA MITI

0

NAKACINDA’S APPOINTMENT LEGAL-LAURA MITI

The battle for control of the PF, that is currently playing out in the public arena, is most intriguing, when approached from an interrogation of the party constitution.

As legal and constitutional matters contribute to fun brain cell exercises at the ACA, we decided to read up on who is right in the raging argument. Think of this as an unoffical fact check.

So, the question is – does Acting PF President, Given Lubinda, have the right to appoint Raphael Nakachinda as party Secretary General? This will be tackled as a constitutional, rather than a political question.

Let’s analyse the party constitution.

The first Article of interest is Article 53, which reads as follows: (I’m paraphrasing the legalese to straight forward English)

(1) If the President resigns or is removed from office, the Secretary General will act as President until the new President is elected, in line with constitutional provisions.

(2) If the both the President and the SG are absent, the President (which one🤷🏽‍♀️) will choose one Member of the Central Committee to perform the functions of the President until the President or SG resume duties. (This is one of many not-thought-through provisions in the PF constitution.)

Forgetting that contradiction, let us, at this point, accept that Mr Lubinda, as soon as he became Acting President, assumed the full powers of the Presidency. There is no caveat in the PF Constitution. The Acting President performs all constitutional presidential powers.

Now, let’s read what those functions are.

Article 61
The President of the Party shall (I will only list the significant ones.)

b) Create offices in the Party.

g) Empower any member of the Party to exercise any powers or specified functions for, and on behalf of, the Party or the Central Committee.

j) Take a decision or an action which, in his opinion, is in the best interest of the development or security of the party.

k) Appoint a Member of the Central Committee to act as SG of the Party, in the absence of the substantive holder. (Remember that Article 51 gives the President the power to appoint the substantive SG anyway.)

The simple conclusions after all that are that:

1. The PF Constitution says whoever is appointed to Act as President, has full powers of the presidency. There are no claw back clauses.

2. Mr Lubinda is the Acting President.

3. Mr Lubinda has the power to appoint the SG.

4. Mr Nakachinda is therefore constitutionally appointed as SG.

It, unfortunately, does not end there. It gets all muddy🤦🏾‍♀️.

Turning all the above on its head, is that Mr Lubinda was not appointed by the President of the Party, as the PF Constitution demands, but rather by the Central Committee.

According to a Cabinet Office letter, written in January 2022, in response to a citizen query, President Lungu resigned as Party President on 28 August 2021.

The point of that is that, after August 2021, no one had the constitutional power to appoint a PF President.

The Lubinda Presidency is therefore illegitimate, as it happened in December 2021. The result of that is all Mr Lubinda’s actions, as Acting President, such as the currently debated appointment of “SG” Nakachinda, are null and void.

By the way, even the appointment of Nickson Chilangwa as Deputy Secretary General, done by EL in September 2021, after his (EL’s) resignation, is constitutionally null and void.

The overall conclusion is that there is A-Grade constitutional confusion in the PF. To achieve sanity, the party needs to amend its constitution and go to a congress.

´Stop the Cover up´ Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba tells journalists
…as they fail to show pictures of private Presidential jet

From Radio Phoenix—12.09.23 ( Smart Eagles)

Opposition pundit Emmanuel Mwamba has cautioned Zambian journalists to avoid ´covering up´ some alleged ´sins´ of President Hakainde Hichilema and his administration following government´s decision to fly to China in a private luxury jet on a visit.

Ambassador Mwamba urged journalists to ask ´uncomfortable questions like ´why President Hichilema or government hired a private expensive luxury jet to China on his current trip when Zambia owns two Presidential jets? ´

Mr Mwamba said the action appeared wrong in many Zambian circles, political and civil society because the President has been ´left right and centre´ complained about having inherited empty coffers from the previous PF administration the former Ambassador represents.

“I am shocked that despite having camera´s we got no single pictures of the expensive hired jet from Zambian media we only got the pictures from foreign media in China so this is a cover up Zambian journalists are actively participating in it and this is not the first time Zambia is hiring a plane when we have two already,” Ambassador Mwamba said.

Zambia has a Challenger and Gulf Stream inherited for the Office of the President from the previous administration, but President Hichilema has shown reluctance to use them as he has shown resentment to live in State House.

Mr Mwamba also ripped into Mr Hichilema´s trip to China that commenced on Sunday saying it lacked the colour and texture of the much-anticipated State Visit Zambians have been hoping the President could hold with colleague H.E Xi Jinping
Mr Mwamba said although the China trip was significant symbolically, it meant little in terms of ´mending ‘diplomatic relations between Zambia exacerbated by the fact that President Hichilema has made but one trip to Beijing out of 50 foreign trips abroad so far, mostly to the west.

The former top-ranking diplomat of Zambia to South Africa and the AU said had Mr Hichilema headed east earlier in his first five years, he would have managed to secure a debt cancellation from the second largest economy on the globe instead of crumbs.

He was speaking live on ´Let the People Talk´ a widely followed radio programme on Radio Phoenix in Lusaka on Tuesday where he also repeated condemnation of President Hichilema´s decision to grant AFRICOM, the US military office in Lusaka rejected by six of his predecessors in the past.
Ambassador Mwamba also zeroed in on the ´sky rocketing´ high cost of living that has pushed prices of commodities such as the staple maize meal and fuel.

He accused President Hichilema of being a populist politician who got in office making fake promises to Zambians he knew he would never keep.
Mr Mwamba also cautioned President that the upgrades he is making allegedly on taxpayers’ money would come to haunt him when out of office, as they did in similar circumstances in South Africa regarding President Jacob Zuma in what is now known as the ´Nkandla` saga.

THEY ARE SCARED OF MUNIR ZULU- HON MUNDUBILE

THEY ARE SCARED OF MUNIR ZULU- HON MUNDUBILE.

………..says it seems the Police IG is now more powerful than the President.

Lusaka………………Tuesday, September 12, 2023 [SMART EAGLES]

LEADER of Opposition in Parliament Hon Brian Mundubile has charged that the Inspector General of Police has now become ‘more powerful’ than the President.

Hon Mundubile said this is because whatever the Republican President says, it is always disregarded by the Police Command.

He said the President has been clear that that when a suspect is arrested, they must be able to be given Bond within a period of 48 Hours.

“President Hakainde Hichilema promised to govern the country by the rule of law. What is bad is that the IG does not listen to the President. The IG disregards what the president says…..,” he said.

Hon Mundubile was speaking when he led a team of Opposition Members of Parliament to offer Solidarity to Lumezi Lawmaker Munir Zulu who is currently detained after being charged with Sedition over the remarks made that the President was going to dissolve Parliament last Friday.

Hon Mundubile said it is surprising that Hon Zulu had to spend a night in police cells despite meeting all bond conditions.

“What we expected was that he was going to be released on bond as early as yesterday. We wish to place it on record that we continue to be disappointed in the manner the President is governing the country. It is not necessary all the time arresting those who speak against you. In his address he talked about Civility and Co-existence. Country has seen that what the President says is the opposite of what happens. Zambia is now in a police state and the Police can do anything they want to Citizens,” he said.

He said the powers that be are scared of the fearless nature of Munir Zulu because he was going to highlight the illegal compensations being given to the UPND Cadres among other things.

In expressing his displeasure, Opposition Whip Stephen Kampyongo said Hon Munir Zulu should have been charged and released yesterday because it is a bondable offence.

Hon Kampyongo has asked the Inspector General of Police to do the right thing and release Munir Zulu.

Meanwhile, Lunte Member of Parliament Mutotwe Kafwaya said there is need to treat all Zambians in a fair manner.

He said if Hon Zulu heard something and shared with the public, the correct thing was to either refute or accept the statement based on the outcomes.

And Chilubi MP Hon Mulenga Fube said they are arresting people anyhow to divert attention from the escalating fuel prices.

Meanwhile, Mufulira Central lawmaker Hon Golden Mwila said “since when did it become a crime to tell the people to prepare themselves to vote. This is very sad, what happened to the freedom of expression. We have freedom of expression but not freedom after expression”.

The economic hardships being experienced in the country are as a result of the stringent IMF Conditions – Antonio Mwanza

NDIYE MWE BADYELA MUMA GWAGU YA FERTILIZER BA UPND- MOURINHO

……notes that the economic hardships are as a result of IMF Conditions

Lusaka……Tuesday, September 12, 2023 ( Smart Eagles)

The Socialist Party says the economic hardships being experienced in the country are as a result of the stringent IMF Conditions given to the UPND Government.

Party Deputy General Secretary Antonio Mourinho Mwanza says Government Policy, Programme, Expenditure and Budget is under the control of the IMF.

He has stated that part of the conditions was for the IMF to draft the Bank of Zambia Act number 5 of 2022.

Mr Mwanza said foreigners are in control of the country’s economy and operations of the Bank of Zambia.

He said the IMF has also Given the New Dawn Government a condition to review the Prices of Fuel prices and to reintroduce VAT on fuel hence making the commodity Expensive.

“Condition three, they have been told to publish the Cost of Electricity Study and government has already started implementing the increase of Cost of Electricity…Government has paid K9 billion through VAT refunds to foreign multinationals. They have been told and instructed to phase out the Farmer Input Support Programme. Over 400 thousand farmers have already been removed from FISP.”

Mr Mwanza has noted that every programme of the IMF has made Zambia to go deeper into poverty and unemployment.

“The way the IMF Operates, the money will be given in eight tranches. They first give you conditionalities, when you fulfil them, they give you $188 million and they make a review. They make another set of conditionalities when you fulfil them, they give you another $188 million for the next five years. This Programme of the IMF that Zambia is on, is the 13th Programme the country has undertaken and no meaningful results have been yielded. This Government will not be able to build schools, and other infrastructure in all sectors thereby limiting unemployment,” he said.

Mr Mwanza has reminded Zambians that any promise President Hichilema makes to the people outside the conditionalities of the IMF is a lie.

“We can’t discuss the economy of this country outside the conditionalities of the IMF Programme, it is a lie. Whatever Programme, whatever policy this Government has to implement has to be within the IMF Context.

Meanwhile, Mr Mwanza said the New Dawn Government has found a way to siphon and steal money from the Zambian people through messing up the Fertilizer deals.

“There is $357 million worth of contracts in Fertilizer, what they have done is that because they always want to single source, to give these fertilizer contracts to their friends, they create a manmade disaster because the ZPPA law does not allow you to single source if you do not meet the conditions. 1. There must be an emergency, the supply of the products is limited, there is constraint on time. They have done it this time around twice,” he said.

IT’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL FOR MR LUNGU TO EAT WITH BOTH HANDS- UPND

0

PRESS STATEMENT

13TH September 2023

IT’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL FOR MR LUNGU TO EAT WITH BOTH HANDS

Former President Mr. Lungu should come out with clean hands on his bid to come back to active politics.

The Republican Constitution is very clear on how a former President should conduct himself. His behavior of eating with both hands also known as double tobela is unconstitutional. Mr. Lungu should not continue pretending that he is not involved in active politics because his actions and utterances are to the contrary. Or is he just funning trouble for himself?

One thing is very clear, UPND is not afraid of Mr. Lungu contesting the 2026 general elections as a Presidential candidate. He must just come out in the open now so that we can take him on as a political opponent. We have dealt with him before and we know his profile, which includes a heap of weaknesses. In fact he will be the weakest candidate on the ballot paper.

Even he himself knows that he is a very weak candidate that’s why he is hiding in Churches in order to ambush the Zambian people. We therefore challenge him to be bold enough and declare that he will take on President HH. We know he is dead scared of doing that because within a week of making that declaration he will not just be sorry but a finished man.

Some opposition Leader complained about President HH mentioning names in public of people PF killed, we hear you. Are you suggesting that instead we bring you the actual orphans and widows so that you can see for your selves what you did? If this is your wish, who are we to say no, after all these people were killed in cold blood by PF regime.

Or do you want us to perform ICHIKONDO or ICHITALEME? The orphans and widows will be Mr. Lungu’s campaign managers. By the way where is Mr. Lungu’s Presidential barber man and what took him to where ever he is today? Was he cutting Mr. Lungu’s hair with blood stained hands? Don’t complain, people have to know what you did when you were PAMUPANDO.

Watch: Prophet T Freddy Exposes Woman’s Secret Child and Past Marriage in Front of her Boyfriend During Church Service

In a viral video that has sent shockwaves through social media, the controversial self-proclaimed man of God, Prophet T Freddy exposed a woman’s hidden secret child and past marriage during a church service, leaving her boyfriend and whole congregation in shock.

A Blessing for Their Union
The couple had seemingly attended the church service seeking blessings for their impending union, as the man had plans to pay lobola (a traditional dowry) for his girlfriend. It appeared to be a moment of love and commitment, with the man professing his unwavering love for his girlfriend and his intentions to marry her when Prophet T. Freddy inquired about their love for each other

Both the man and the woman affirmed their love for each other before the congregation.

However, what followed was nothing short of a bombshell. Prophet T. Freddy, during the church service, dropped a revelation that left the entire congregation in stunned silence. He exposed the woman’s hidden secrets and her deception.

The prophet revealed that the woman had been dishonest about her past. He disclosed that she was not entirely truthful about her life. Shockingly, he exposed that she had a secret child and had been previously married.

When questioned, the man expressed his utter astonishment, admitting that he had no idea about the child or her past marriage. He explained that she had never disclosed these crucial details to him.

The situation grew even more bewildering when the man revealed that he had already visited the woman’s parents, and arrangements for the lobola ceremony were in progress.

During his visit, he had not encountered any indication of a child in the woman’s household.

Concealing the Truth
The astonishing revelations continued as Prophet Freddy pressed the woman to explain where her child was when he visited her home. She confessed, leaving the congregation in shock. She revealed that her family had intentionally sent her child to a neighbor’s house to keep the truth hidden during his visit.

Watch the video below;

Spiritual Advice Amidst Shock
In the aftermath of this shocking revelation, Prophet T. Freddy advised all couples to seek guidance from the church before hastily proceeding with their marriage plans.

Let ECL Visit Every Church Of His Wish In Zambia And Confess His Sins On Behalf Of The PF Party People’s- Stembridge Sikalundu

LET ECL VISIT EVERY CHURCH OF HIS WISH IN ZAMBIA AND CONFESS HIS SINS ON BEHALF OF THE PF PARTY PEOPLE’S …***

By Stembridge Sikalundu

Again the need to thank the UPND govt under president HAKAINDE HICHILEMA who has demonstrated that people in Zambia including ECL need to exercise their rights and freedoms , many UPND members are unsettled with ECL visiting the markets , attending traditional ceremonies and indeed going to various churches in the country because he denied HH to attend funerals , attend church services and visiting to all parts of the country , the difference is how we want our country to be governed in moving forward . We must accept that ECL is former president and all the liberties under his jurisdiction must be accorded to him , we must be very careful with how we look at things in this country , ECL is just human and he is not ready to rest any time soon , the foundation he hoped to establish is null and void , the statement ECL made informing the nation that he is not available for the next election , is always compromised by his followers who are sending wild statements about the hidden party agenda to use ECL’s influence to misguide his position as former president to save the PF party from disintergrating , is this ploy good for ECL ? ,if he is ready to share himself into two workable pieces , one role for the party and the other one as former president , in this case one thing is likely to suffer , I may not wish to talk about what would happen to the PF party because i may be seen to speculate , on the side of the former president’s instituitionnal values and prominence , ECL is on his own because he is not ready to accept the use of protocol and conduct of the former president’s office , a choice of route and abandonment to the core of significance and status position, because of failure to realign personal thoughts with reality checks , ECL has chosen everything in his way .

What is fundamental about ECL’s position is that whatever he says and what he is doing , the PF party is being represented and ECL is leading as president., behind ECL there is use of his influence to raise a political agenda which is very visible but hidden , ECL may not be actively be participating in politics ,but from that following behind him , they prefer that PF bounced to power and remove the UPND from govt by any means , which includes ECL being available for the PF party now , some people may have asked on which side ECL is and how zambians should regard and account for him , this is a big question which is associated to the confusion which surrounds what ECL is doing in the name of former president of this nation or not . There are issues which need clarity but that can’t happen now because politics is a dirty game when political ideas are dirty . There is nothing wrong for ECL to help the PF party rebuild it’s image using ECL’s position and movements to all parts of the country . We can borrow instincts from ourselves to know that ECL can not be in support of the UPND govt in anything he is doing as former president but to raise hopes that PF is still alive , he may not or will be the candidate for the PF party because he remains party president and the PF party is not ready for the party conference to elect a new leader .

I have always said it is inevitable to speak about ECL because he is former president and his influence can either bring peace or confusion in the country , in the history of peace and unity ,politics can be a danger if matters arising are not handled properly , ECL was supposed to be considered a repenting person because of the PF party he headed as president , zambians were killed in this country while ECL watched without a word from his office of presidency , many will recall that when there was a by election in kaoma , ECL pleaded for peace among the kaoma chiefs and assured that zambians were one ,and for the sake of having leaders in various elective positions ,it was inevitable to have elections in the area which were supposed to be peaceful and fair , unfortunately in the PF camp carders went with guns and shot LAWRENCE BANDA in cold blood , he is not the only one who lost his life ,a lot of citizens lost properties , some were left disabled due to attacks using matchetes , women ,children the elderly and the families became victims to this ruthless aggression , intercity bus terminal was used as a point of aggressive orders , loading of machetes , hiring of private buses and ferrying thugs to go and brutslise innocent citizens , the same markets ECL is visiting today were considered revenue areas for the PF thungs that were taxing bus stations and markets , ECL allowed all these illegal deals in govt and everywhere in the country sides .

I totally accept and consciously agree that ECL must be at the churches for prayers and seek forgiveness and not to keep the PF image behind his desires using the church ,we are not judging him ,but he must be very careful with the message he is bearing as he communicates in these places , ECL should have been more christian when he was president because of the atrocities his govt committed , when ECL is seen everywhere and telling people he is only praying to his God , I would have loved him say his confession to God is in line with all those whose toes he stepped on who are God’s children ,including children and the widows whose bread winners that lost their lives for supporting the opposition ,it may not have been ECL’s wish but as long as his followers committed these sins it was on his behalf . Let us not fail to see beyond ourselves , something is not going right in the country , and if ECL can’t see it , if the govt can’t see it and if all zambians can’t see it ,I choose to be alone to say something on the sides of things are not better but suspicious and politically inviting to know what’s going on in zambia between issues . God bless mother Zambia.

Zambian, USA soldiers sharpen skills together

ZAMBIA and the United States of America (USA) have maintained strong military ties based on shared democratic ideals and active military engagements.

In order to train alongside Zambian Special Forces in diverse combat missions, the American Special Forces Operation Detachment Alpha 3235 oversaw a seven-week Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) at the Special Forces Training School in Mbala.

The two nations’ close ties and shared commitment to security cooperation in the areas of force management, modernisation and professional military training for the Zambia Defence Force were underscored by this exchange of military expertise.

The US Special Forces team worked with members of the Zambia Special Forces Training School, 1 Commando, and 48 Marine Units to smoothen their special operations and methods between the two countries.

Special Forces Group Commander, Brigadier General Charles Swana who applauded the participants for their performance and high standards during the exercises and training said the purpose of the training was to promote military knowledge exchange.

And the US Detachment Commander, Captain Cody Brown said the Zambian Special Forces are professional, tough and are always committed to duty as displayed during the seven-week training.

Capt Brown asserted that they are capable of offensive actions, airborne, waterborne, and land operations, as well as special reconnaissance and surveillance in hostile environments.

Among the lessons covered include combat marksmanship, law of armed conflicts, bilateral operations, small unit tactics and maritime operations.

Others were specialisation in skills training, close quarter battle, heavy weapons, counter improvised explosive devices, urban movement, urban reconnaissance, personal security, paramedics, combat diving and navigation.

Love Undercover: Man Successfully Poses as Woman, Co-habits with Boyfriend for Three Months Before Arrest

Love Undercover: Man Successfully Poses as Woman, Co-habits with Boyfriend for Three Months Before Arrest

Two suspects have been arrested in Kwekwe, facing charges of sodomy after it was discovered that they had been living together, with one of them disguising himself as a woman.

The bizarre case unfolded when his true identity was exposed during a sexual encounter

The Deceptive Encounter: Man Masquerades as a Woman
In July of this year, James Mapawu (40) reportedly visited a popular Kwekwe nightclub. It was here that he encountered Praise Mpofu (25), who was masquerading as a woman. The unexpected meeting took an even stranger turn when James, under the assumption that Praise was a woman, proposed a romantic relationship.

However, doubts have since emerged regarding the sincerity of James’ claims.

“Something is not adding up in James’ version since he is saying that he proposed to Praise thinking he was a woman due to the dress code.

“But, we suspect he was aware that this Praise was also into this sodomy,” explained an anonymous source.

A Relationship Built on Deception

Following James’s proposal, he and Praise embarked on what appeared to be a romantic relationship. They began living together at Mapawu’s residence, sharing intimate moments during this time. However, what James believed to be a love affair would soon unravel in an unexpected and shocking manner.

The Unveiling of Truth

The truth came to light in September when, during a sexual encounter, Praise experienced an erection, revealing his true gender identity as a man. The revelation was met with shock and confusion on James’s part, leading to a heated argument between the two.

Arrest and Ongoing Investigations

This encounter, shrouded in disguise, eventually took a dark turn as James reported Praise to the authorities for engaging in sodomy. Both individuals were subsequently arrested for their involvement in the incident.

Midlands police provincial spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the arrest to H-Metro, underlining the gravity of the charges involved.

“I can confirm the matter was reported to the police, and a scene was attended to, resulting in the arrest of the two suspects. Investigations are ongoing.”

The duo is expected to appear in court soon.

“We Are Tired”: CCC Supporters Express Frustration over Nelson Chamisa’s Motivational Messages and Bible Verses Posts

“We Are Tired”: CCC Supporters Express Frustration over Nelson Chamisa’s Motivational Messages and Bible Verses Posts

Leader of Zimbabwe’s opposition party CCC, Nelson Chamisa is facing criticism from some of his followers who believe he should be taking more action than merely quoting Bible verses and sharing motivational messages during the ongoing Zimbabwean crisis.

Nelson Chamisa Faces Heat Over Motivational Message

As Zimbabweans eagerly discuss President Mnangagwa’s controversial new cabinet appointments, Nelson Chamisa chose to post a motivational message with his familiar mantra, “God is in it,” in an attempt to reassure his supporters.

Taking to his official X account, he wrote:

“DON’T DESPAIR ZIMBABWE🇿🇼 FOCUS!! Cheer up! Freedom doesn’t come easy but is coming. Celebrations loading… Some will ask how and when but it will happen sooner than ever imaginable. Say a prayer for our beloved country. We serve a Mighty and Living God! #Godisinit Blessed Tuesday.”

Nelson Chamisa’s Motivational Messages & Bible Quotes Infuriate Supporters

However, the post did not go down well with some of his supporters. CCC supporters voiced their frustration with Nelson Chamisa, for his consistent posting of motivational messages and Bible verses on X (formerly Twitter), instead of providing guidance to his supporters following President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s announcement of a new cabinet.

Many of his supporters called on him to take concrete action and asserted that they were tired of his Bible verses and motivational messages, especially during such a critical time in Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

Check out some of the reactions;

@sam_dzivah;

Mr. President, I speak on behalf of every Zimbabwean when I say we are tired of motivational quotes and verses

You said we are going to celebrate soo. , when is the soon 😏 ?

@TheDark71466842;

There we go again 😭😂

@nyambenis;

Mnangagwa is aggressively consolidating power, while we are busy with poetry; rhythm, and rhyme. It hasn’t worked before.
People need guidance, direction, plans

@dean_plessis;

When though Mr. President? When is this freedom coming you speak of with such regularity? We have spoken about this for a long time, and absolutely nothing is happening. I believe there is a big difference between encouraging words and false hope.🥺

US unfreezes Iranian money in exchange for prisoners

0

The US has given permission for banks to move $6bn of Iranian money that was blocked in South Korea to Qatar. This is important because it will allow five Americans who are being held by Iran to be released.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken informed Congress that the money would only help Iran to some extent since it could solely be utilized for trade related to humanitarian aid.

He also said that five Iranians who were being held in the US will be released as part of the agreement to exchange prisoners.

Republicans disapproved of the transfer.

A senator said that President Joe Biden paid a large sum of money to a country that supports terrorism.

Recently, US officials reported that four people who are both American and Iranian citizens were removed from Evin prison in Tehran and placed under house arrest.

A lawyer identified three prisoners as Siamak Namazi, Emad Shargi, and Morad Tahbaz. Morad Tahbaz is also a citizen of Britain. The fourth person was not recognized, and the fifth person was also not recognized because they were already being kept at home by authorities.

Who are the people with citizenship in two countries that are currently imprisoned in Iran.

It is thought that since 2018, many many billions of dollars that Iran is owed for its oil and other exports have been put on hold in bank accounts worldwide. This happened when former President Donald Trump decided to stop following an agreement regarding Iran’s nuclear program and put sanctions back in place.

The US has given permission for some banks in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East to move $6 billion from South Korea to Qatar’s central bank without facing any punishment.

MrBlinken said in a letter to Congress on Monday that it is important to move money from limited Iranian accounts in South Korea to accounts in Qatar for humanitarian trade. This is necessary for the release of US citizens.

Last month, he said that Qatar had promised to make sure the money given to Iran would only be used for helping people and would be carefully monitored and regulated. He also mentioned that Iran would not be able to directly access the funds, and the US would closely monitor the situation.

The Republican leader of the House Foreign Affairs Committee criticized the Biden administration for going ahead with what he referred to as a “hostage deal” worth $6 billion, despite their promises.

Rep Michael McCaul said that the Americans being held in Iran are innocent and they should be released right away without any conditions.

I am worried about the government’s choice to not punish Iran and let them have $6 billion. Iran is a country that supports terrorism. This decision could encourage other countries that don’t like America to take more people hostage in the future.

Adrienne Watson, a spokesperson for the White House, said that the waiver was just a normal part of a sensitive and ongoing process.

Nasser Kanani, a spokesperson for the Iranian foreign ministry, said he was hopeful that the prisoner exchange would happen very soon.

Libya floods: Flooded city buries its dead in mass graves

0

Bodies recovered from a devastating flood which wiped out parts of the port city of Derna in eastern Libya have been buried in mass graves.

At least 2,300 people died when a tsunami-like river of floodwater swept through Derna on Sunday after a dam burst during Storm Daniel.

A mechanical digger worked in a cemetery where victims wrapped in body bags and blankets were buried together.

With 10,000 people reported missing, the death toll is expected to rise.

Mohammed Qamaty, a volunteer in Derna, said rescue workers were still searching for victims.

“We call on all the young Libyans, anyone who has a degree or any medical affiliation to please come and help us,” he told Reuters news agency. “We have a shortage in nurses, we need help.”

Some aid has started to arrive, including from Egypt, but rescue efforts have been hampered by the political situation in Libya, with the country split between two rival governments.

The US, Germany, Iran, Italy, Qatar and Turkey are among the countries that have said they have sent or are ready to send aid.

Water engineering experts have told the BBC it is likely a dam around 12km (eight miles) from Derna failed first, sending its water sweeping down a valley and overcoming a second dam which lay closer to the city.

Video footage recorded after dark on Sunday shows a river of floodwater churning through Derna, a city of about 100,000 people, with cars bobbing helplessly in the current.

Daylight revealed ruined neighbourhoods with streets covered in mud and rubble, littered with upturned vehicles.

There are harrowing stories of people being swept out to sea, while others clung onto rooftops to survive.

“I was shocked by what I saw, it’s like a tsunami,” Hisham Chkiouat, from Libya’s eastern-based government, told BBC Newshour.

Eastern Libya’s health minister, Othman Abduljaleel, told the Associated Press by phone from Derna: “We were stunned by the amount of destruction… The tragedy is very significant, and beyond the capacity of Derna and the government.”

The cities of Soussa, Al-Marj and Misrata were also affected by Sunday’s storm.

Libya has been in political chaos since long-serving ruler Col Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown and killed in 2011 – leaving the oil-rich nation effectively split with an interim, internationally recognised government operating from the capital, Tripoli, and another one in the east.

But despite the split, the government in Tripoli has sent a plane with 14 tonnes of medical supplies, body bags and more than 80 doctors and paramedics.

Derna, about 250km east of Benghazi along the coast, is surrounded by the nearby hills of the fertile Jabal Akhdar region.

The city was once where militants from the Islamic State group built a presence in Libya, after Gaddafi’s fall. They were driven out some years later by the Libyan National Army, forces loyal to Gen Khalifa Haftar who is allied to the eastern administration.

The powerful general said eastern officials were currently assessing damage caused by the floods so roads could be reconstructed and electricity restored to help rescue efforts.

Chiwenga the biggest loser on Mnangagwa’s new Cabinet

0

He staked his reputation on Emmerson Mnangagwa’s return to Zimbabwe after a two-week absence as President, following a dramatic escape to South Africa in early November 2017. This followed his removal from the position of vice-president on November 6, 2017, by the late former president Robert Mugabe during a heated succession battle.

After the subsequent coup on November 14/15, 2017, which ousted Mugabe, he briefly held the reins of state power. But now, retired General Constantino Chiwenga finds himself dependent on his former political ally, Mnangagwa, in a precarious position.

In the latest cabinet reshuffle, Chiwenga was stripped of his role as Health minister and remains only an appointed Vice-President, lacking electoral legitimacy and holding a largely ceremonial role.

Mnangagwa amended the constitution to prevent the implementation of the clause on running mates, thwarting Chiwenga’s aspirations to become an elected Vice-President with real authority and a clear path to succession.

As a result, Chiwenga’s influence within the ruling party, Zanu-PF, and the government has waned. He is institutionally weak and politically vulnerable.

In the aftermath of the 2017 coup, Chiwenga wielded significant power. He held the positions of Vice-President, Minister of Defence, and War Veterans. He also prevented Mnangagwa from appointing Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri as Vice-President in 2017, ultimately securing the position for himself, along with the Defence portfolio.

However, circumstances changed. Chiwenga fell seriously ill, possibly due to poisoning, while his military allies, who played a crucial role in Mnangagwa’s rise to power, faced purges. Some were assigned diplomatic roles, others were removed from their positions, and some even died.

The coalition that had orchestrated Mugabe’s downfall was dismantled, and Mnangagwa consolidated his authority with ruthless determination.

Chiwenga’s near-death experience during these purges, along with revelations from his contentious divorce proceedings with Marry Mubaiwa, where it was alleged that she had conspired to harm him on behalf of powerful interests, further weakened his position.

Prior to these events, the Bulawayo White City incident in June 2018, believed to have been an assassination attempt on Mnangagwa by his internal rivals, strained relations further.

Today, there is palpable animosity between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga. They have become uneasy partners engaged in a delicate political power struggle with unresolved leadership issues.

Mnangagwa had initially pledged to serve a single term and allow Chiwenga to assume the presidency in 2023 as part of their coup-era agreement. However, he reneged on this promise, sparking a new power struggle that persists to this day, as evident in the recent cabinet reshuffle.

Chiwenga, who appeared uncomfortable during the announcement of the new cabinet, finds himself increasingly sidelined and politically weakened, particularly because Mnangagwa did not rely on the military for his contested re-election but instead on a covert intelligence-driven organization called FAZ.

As the aftermath of the November 2017 coup continues to unfold, Chiwenga appears to be the biggest loser in this power struggle, unless there is a dramatic reversal of fortunes—a formidable challenge that lies ahead.

Hunter Biden’s difficulties and controversies

0

Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden‘s only surviving son, is encountering more and more difficulties that don’t seem to be disappearing.

In July, the 53-year-old seemed like he was going to solve his tax and gun problems and not go to jail with the help of a deal with prosecutors.

However, the agreement fell apart during the legal process, and the person leading the investigation into Hunter‘s alleged illegal activities stated that he would bring charges against Hunter for possessing a gun.

In September, congressional Republicans started investigating the elder Mr Biden. They are looking into claims that his son may have used his influence for personal gain.

His personal problems, like alcohol and drug addiction, as well as troubles in his relationships, have become known by the public.

What else do we know about Hunter Biden.

A childhood steeped in tragedy

Hunter Biden was born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1970. His parents are Joe Biden and his first wife Neilia. He got his first name from his mother’s family name.

He was just two years old in December 1972 when his father had just become a US Senator. Unfortunately, their family car was hit by a truck not long after.

A terrible accident happened that caused his mother and baby sister Naomi to die. He got hurt with a broken skull, and his older brother Beau broke his leg.

Mr Biden’s elderly father, who was not in the car at the time, took his official promise to serve as president while standing next to their hospital bed.

Later, Hunter went to Georgetown University and Yale Law School. He completed his studies in 1996.

He joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps after getting his two degrees. This is a Catholic group that helps communities that are often overlooked.

There, he met his first wife, Kathleen Buhle, who was a lawyer, and they got married in 1993. They have three kids – Naomi, Finnegan, and Maisy – but they separated in 2017.

The ‘darkness’ of addiction

His dad doesn’t drink, but Hunter started drinking when he was a teenager and admits that he used cocaine when he was in college. He has been in and out of a rehabilitation program.

In 2013, he joined the US Navy Reserves and took an oath in a special ceremony at the White House while his father, who was the vice-president at that time, was present.

However, on his first day at the naval base, he was found positive for using cocaine and was sent away. He later expressed feeling ashamed about it.

The New Yorker reported that after his older brother, Beau, died from brain cancer in 2015, he started drinking a lot. He would often only go out of the house to buy vodka.

“His daughter Naomi once said on Twitter that he and Beau were very close. ” One heart, one soul, and one mind means that everyone is united and thinks alike.

During their bitter divorce, Ms Buhle claimed that Hunter spent a lot of money on things like drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, strip clubs, and gifts for other women, instead of using the money to pay necessary bills for the family.

Last year, she finally spoke about how their 24-year marriage fell apart. On Good Morning America, she said, “He was dealing with a very serious drug addiction. It was really sad and hurtful because the person I married wasn’t like that. ”

In his book Beautiful Things, which was written in 2021, Hunter admits that his cheating was the main reason their marriage ended.

In 2019, a DNA test confirmed that he is the biological and legal father of a child born to Lunden Alexis Roberts, who works as a dancer in Arkansas.

Hunter said in his book that he didn’t remember meeting Ms Roberts, but he agreed to pay child support after they resolved a legal case about their child.

It seems that none of the Bidens have ever met a little girl named Navy Roberts, who is now four years old. But because the media was pressuring him, President Biden had to admit that he now has another grandchild.

Before Hunter had fully separated from Ms. Buhle, he started a romantic relationship with Hallie Biden, who happens to be his brother’s widow.

For nearly two years, they connected through their mutual and “very specific sadness” from their loss, he shared with the New Yorker.

In 2019, there were reports that they broke up peacefully, shortly after his father started running for president again.

But just a few weeks later, Hunter got married to a filmmaker from South Africa named Melissa Cohen. They fell in love very quickly, within six days. They have a boy.

In 2019, he spoke about his battle with addiction and mentioned that it cannot be completely eliminated. You find a way to handle it.

Hunter, along with his dad Joe and his brother Beau, enthusiastically greets the people who are showing their support while Barack Obama becomes the president.

In the book Beautiful Things, he says that he is alive because his family loves him. He talks about a situation where his father hugged him tightly and said that he didn’t know how else to help him. I am very frightened. Please give me instructions on what to do.

Hunter has started painting as a way to feel better and get away from bad situations and people.

But the Biden White House is facing a problem with ethics due to the high prices, up to $500,000, that his artwork is being sold for.

President Biden has supported his son on many occasions, especially during a debate in 2020 where he stood up for him.

After Mr Trump had a problem with his child’s difficulties, an emotional Joe Biden replied: “My son – like many others – had a drug issue. ” He repaired it and spent time on it, and I am happy about my son.

Mixing family and business

After finishing his studies at Yale, Hunter got a job at MBNA America, a bank company based in Delaware. It was later bought by Bank of America.

Joe Biden had a very close relationship with a big bank in Delaware. This bank was one of the largest employers in Delaware and also gave a lot of money to his political campaigns. Because of this, people started calling him “the senator from MBNA” in a negative way.

Joe, who wanted to help MBNA, pushed for a law to make it easier for people and businesses to declare bankruptcy while Hunter got a promotion to executive vice-president.

In the early 2000s, Hunter started working as a lobbyist in Washington while still getting paid for giving advice to the bank.

According to Politico Magazine, it was noticed that he got clients who had similar interests to his father’s committee assignments and legislative priorities.

According to him, the relationship between the father and the son was such that they would not talk to each other about their lobbying jobs.

President Biden has also said that this is still true in regards to more recent claims of wrongdoing.
Hunter and his sister Ashley greet people happily as they arrive at their dad’s important event where he becomes the president.

In 2006, when Joe Biden was going to become the chairman of the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee, Hunter and one of their family members made a bad decision to buy a hedge fund group.

They continued working at Paradigm Global Advisors during Joe Biden’s campaign for president in 2008 and his appointment as vice-president to President Barack Obama.

During this period, the fund had associations with multiple people accused of fraud, including a Texas financier who was found guilty of operating a large-scale Ponzi scheme, which is a type of financial fraud.

The Bidens said they did nothing wrong and were not accused of any crimes. In 2010, they closed the fund and gave back the money to the people who invested in it.

China and Ukraine are two countries.

There has been a lot of talk in recent years about Hunter’s business overseas when his father was vice-president.

In 2013, he became a founding board member at BHR, a Chinese investment firm. At first, he didn’t get paid for this role, but later on, he ended up owning 10% of the company’s ownership.

The company was started in Shanghai a short time after Hunter went on a trip to China with his dad, who was the vice-president at the time. He met with the CEO of BHR, but they only had a short meeting over coffee, according to Hunter.

After his dad stopped working in 2017, Hunter worked together with a rich Chinese businessman named Ye Jianming on a project to extract natural gas in Louisiana.

The agreement fell apart because Ye got arrested by the Chinese government for corruption and then disappeared.

Hunter Biden’s actions in Ukraine have caused even more disagreement, especially since his father was in charge of the United States’ relationship with Ukraine during the Obama administration.

In 2014, he started working for a Ukrainian energy company called Burisma Holdings. He received a salary of $1. 2 million (£943,000) per year.

As part of a campaign to fight against corrupt actions, Vice-President Biden was trying to remove the country’s highest-ranking prosecutor, Viktor Shokin.

In 2016, Parliament took away Mr. Shokin’s position, but some people say that he was actually fired because he was investigating Burisma.

Republicans say that both Joe and Hunter Biden got $5 million from Burisma executives to fire Mr.

A person who used to work with Hunter said that Joe was sometimes on speakerphone when Hunter was talking to different people.

Accusations of corruption were the main focus of President Trump’s first impeachment in 2019, and the beginning investigation into President Biden.

In the 2020 presidential campaign, a laptop left behind by Hunter at a Delaware repair shop became a big deal because of the sketchy things on its hard drive.

The Biden team claimed it was a false attack planned by Russia, but now US media has verified the hard drive and the FBI has taken possession of it.

Studying what is inside has shown evidence that Hunter made lots of money from his jobs in China and Ukraine. It also shows proof that he often went on wild adventures while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

As the president begins his campaign for re-election, the negative consequences of his son’s legal troubles, business involvements, and media-focused lifestyle are causing problems.

Russian plane forced to land in maize farm

0

A plane from Russia with 170 people aboard had to make an emergency landing in a field of maize because something went wrong with its hydraulic system.

Nobody got hurt in the accident. The Ural Airlines Airbus A320 got stuck near a forest in the Novosibirsk region of Siberia.

Ural said that the pilot chose the place to land after the jet’s hydraulic systems stopped working while getting near Omsk.

The airline denied that it couldn’t maintain its planes because of sanctions on Russia.

The pictures showed a plane stuck in a field of corn. The doors were open and ramps were down, and there were people walking around.

A video on social media showed a big machine cutting apart a plane, removing the cockpit, tail, and wings so that it could be taken away from the field more easily.

Russia’s aviation agency, Rosaviatsia, reported that an unexpected landing occurred early on Tuesday.

It also said that they chose a place to land from the sky near the village of Kamenka. No one on board asked for medical help, it said.

Rosaviatsia stated that they are looking into the emergency landing situation, and Ural Airlines mentioned that the crew members are temporarily relieved of duty until the investigation is finished.
The leader of Ural Airlines, Sergei Skuratov, stated that a part of the plane that controls its movement and brakes stopped working while it was flying from Sochi to Omsk on the coast of the Black Sea.

He said the marks above the wing in pictures were just dirt and that the plane did not catch fire.

If a plane’s hydraulic systems have a really bad problem, it can make the plane very hard to steer and control.

However, Russian aviation experts said that there are extra systems in place and disagreed with the crew’s choice to abandon the aircraft.

“Andrei Litvinov, the pilot of the A320, told Gazeta. ru that there are three hydraulic systems and one electric system. ” “We don’t have to land the plane in a field. ”

He said that the decision put the lives of people on the plane and on the ground at risk.
Sanctions against Russia are causing problems for airlines.

The emergency landing happened because Russian airlines are having trouble getting necessary parts for their planes because of sanctions from Western countries. The sanctions are because of Russia’s actions in Ukraine.

In March, a Russian media company called Vedomosti reported that Ural Airlines official Igor Poddubny said they had approximately three months left before they started taking apart planes to use their parts.

However, Skuratov insists that all the planes in his airline are fixed with real parts.

Mr Skuratov said that we will never let wrong spare parts be used. It’s hard and takes effort, but all the spare parts used on our aircraft are approved.

“I guarantee it with certainty. ”

The Interfax agency said that the A320 plane that crashed was around 20 years old and had a certificate saying it was safe to fly until the end of next year.

In August, Reuters mentioned that Ural Airlines and other Russian airlines found a way to evade Western sanctions multiple times. They used intermediaries in countries like China and the UAE, which don’t follow the restrictions.

In 2019, a Ural Airlines airplane had to land in a field near Moscow because some birds hit it while it was taking off. About 70 out of the 230 people traveling in the plane were hurt in the accident, which Russian media called the “miracle over Ramensk”.

The crew received awards from the government later on.

Russian missile fired UK-flagged civilian cargo ship – UK

0

The UK says that Russia attacked a civilian cargo ship with many cruise missiles while it was in the Ukrainian port of Odesa last month.

The attack happened on 24 August but was stopped by Ukraine’s air defenses, according to the UK’s foreign office.

The ship from Liberia was attacked by missiles shot from a Russian carrier, it said.

In July, Russia said that ships going to Ukraine’s ports through the Black Sea could be attacked by the military.

The warning came after Moscow backed out of an important grain agreement supported by the United Nations. This agreement allowed civilian cargo ships to export Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.

President Vladimir Putin was upset because there were too many rules and limits on his country’s farm products.

Moscow wanted a big Russian bank to join a worldwide payments system, restrictions to be removed on Russian fertilizer companies, and for its ships to have complete access to insurance and foreign ports.

What was the Ukraine grain deal about.

It started attacking ports in southern Ukraine not long after it withdrew from the deal, even though it promised not to do such attacks in the agreement.

On Monday, the UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak spoke to parliament and said that the failed attack on the grain ship only showed how desperate Putin is.

Mr Sunak said that Ukraine has the legal right to sell their goods to other countries using the oceans, and they also have a moral right to transport and sell grain that helps in feeding people all over the world.

Russia has not said anything about the attack yet.

Recently, Moscow has been focusing more on damaging ports in Ukraine after they withdrew from the grain agreement. Kyiv said that someone has made a sneaky plan to hurt its grain exports and weaken global food safety.

The Foreign Office said that Russia destroyed 280,000 tonnes of grain after leaving the deal. They accused Russia of using food and trade to harm the rest of the world.

Officials also said that Russian attacks have caused damage to 26 port infrastructure facilities in Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Reni since July.

In July, officials from Kenya said that Russia’s decision to withdraw from the deal was a betrayal to countries suffering from drought.

Korir Sing’Oei, a high-ranking official in Kenya’s foreign affairs ministry, said that if there is an increase in the amount of food available worldwide due to this action, it will affect the countries in the Horn of Africa more than other places because they are already suffering from drought.

President Vladimir Putin has promised to give free grain to six African countries that have shown support for Russia at international meetings.

The foreign office said that the Russian strikes destroyed more grain than they promised to give to African countries. This grain could have fed about a million people for a year.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has returned from India after his airplane had a problem

0

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has returned from India after his airplane had a problem, which caused his visit to last two extra days in the country’s capital.

He was supposed to fly on Sunday after the G20 summit was over, but unfortunately, a humiliating mechanical issue prevented him from flying.

People in his own country and Indian people on social media made fun of him for being late. This happened after Mr. Trudeau had a tense meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Canada and India’s relationship has become more tense in the last few months.

India Today reported on Tuesday that Mr. Trudeau’s visit to India did not improve the cold relationship that he has with India.

A few days before he went to Delhi, Mr. Trudeau suddenly announced that his country was stopping discussions about a trade agreement with India.

Canada’s Sikh community has been involved in significant protests that have caused a lot of tension. India is worried about the actions of Sikh people who want to break away from the country. They say they are not responsible for the death of a famous Sikh advocate for independence in British Columbia in June.

During their meeting on Sunday, Mr. Modi expressed his worries to Mr. Trudeau about the ongoing anti-India actions of extremist groups in Canada. Modi’s office stated that these groups were promoting the idea of separating from India and encouraging violent behavior.

At the same time, Mr. Trudeau’s team stated that the Canadian prime minister emphasized the significance of following and respecting the laws, democratic values, and the independence of a nation.

MrTrudeau said during a press conference that he talked with Mr. Modi about other countries interfering in Canada’s matters. Canada is investigating India, China, and Russia for interfering in elections.

People were surprised when the Canadian prime minister didn’t go to a dinner party for world leaders organized by the Indian President Droupadi Murmu. According to reports, his office didn’t explain why he didn’t attend. Some people noticed that he quickly let go of Mr. Modi’s hand when they were shaking hands.

It is not clear what he has done for the past two days. According to the media, it is believed that he stayed at his hotel without doing any more diplomatic activities.

Neither Mr Trudeau nor the Indian government have said anything publicly about the delay in his coming back home.

However, an Indian government official turned up to say goodbye and wish him and his group a safe journey home on behalf of Prime Minister Modi’s government.

On Monday, Canada’s Defense Department told the BBC that Mr Trudeau’s airplane – a Royal Canadian Air Force plane with the tail number ’01’ – had a problem that needs fixing. It was caused by a part that needs to be replaced.

This problem shows that these steps are working.

The defense department said they are sending another plane to India to bring Mr.

The Toronto Star said that the RCAF sent someone to India who could solve the problem. The text says that the CC-150 Polaris plane is a part of an older group of planes that has had a lot of problems and will be changed soon.

This is not the first time that Mr. Trudeau has had problems with his plane while traveling.

In 2019, a plane with journalists crashed into the wing of another plane that was hired to take him on his campaign journey. He was not on the plane at the time.

Astronaut Frank Rubio breaks record for the longest space flight in US

0

Astronaut Frank Rubio has been in space for more than 355 days, which is longer than any other US astronaut.

Rubio, who has been in space since September 2022, broke the previous record set by astronaut Mark Vande Hei at 1:40 p. mAccording to a spokesperson from the space agency, it will happen on Monday at ET.

Additionally, Rubio is close to achieving another important goal in a few weeks. A Russian spaceship called Soyuz will not bring back him and his two friends, Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin, to Earth until September 27th.

This means that Rubio will have been in space for at least 371 days when he finishes his mission. He is about to become the first American to spend over a whole year in microgravity.

But Rubio didn’t plan to set records.

When Rubio went to the space station on a Russian spaceship on September 21, 2022, he and his friends thought they were doing a mission for six months. But the spacecraft that took Rubio and his two Russian colleagues had a problem with a coolant leak in December. Officials at Roscosmos, which is Russia’s space agency, later concluded that the spacecraft was not safe for the crew to return home in.

Instead, the Soyuz MS-22 capsule came back to Earth on March 28 with no people inside. Roscosmos sent a new spacecraft called MS-23 to the space station on February 25. Rubio will come back in September because Russia is getting ready for the next Soyuz spaceship that will have two cosmonauts and one NASA astronaut. The launch might happen on Friday.

In simpler words: To celebrate Rubio’s accomplishment, he recorded a talk with Vande Hei on September 5th. NASA will be showing the video on Tuesday at 11 a. m”ET broadcasts on its own media channel. ”

“Rubio’s trip to space represents the true nature of exploring,” said NASA administrator Bill Nelson in a statement shared on social media on Monday.

The statement says that as he sets new records for being the astronaut who has stayed in space the longest, he is also making it easier for future astronauts. “Frank, your dedication is amazing. ”

If everything happens as expected and Rubio leaves on September 27, his time spent in space for 371 days will not be the longest ever recorded. Valeri Polyakov, a Russian astronaut, holds the record for spending the most consecutive days in space. He stayed on the Mir space station for 437 days from January 1994 to March 1995.

Vande Hei broke a new record in 2022 for spending the most consecutive days in space. NASA and Roscosmos agreed to let him stay longer because Russia sent a film crew of two to the space station. Vande Hei’s return got delayed because there were more people going to the space lab. However, he already knew that his mission might be longer before he got there.

Before Vande Hei, American astronaut Scott Kelly had the record for the longest time spent in space with his mission lasting 340 days. That time in space was a planned long-term mission organized by NASA to learn about how being in space for a while affects people’s bodies.

A cosmonaut from Russia has the record for spending the most total days in space. Gennadi Padalka became the best cosmonaut in 2015 by spending a total of 879 days in space during five different missions.

Peggy Whitson holds the record for spending the most days in space among all US astronauts. She has spent a total of 675 days orbiting the Earth. Whitson, who stopped working for NASA as an astronaut in 2018, has contributed again to the record as recently as 2023. Now, she works as a private astronaut for Axiom Space. Axiom Space has organized two trips to the space station for regular people to go on. During these trips, customers get to experience what it’s like to be in space and they get to go with an experienced professional astronaut.

Rubio went to the space station on a Russian spaceship because NASA and Roscosmos made an agreement to exchange crews in the summer of 2022.

NASA picked Rubio to go on a Soyuz spaceship, and Roscosmos chose Anna Kikina to go on a SpaceX spaceship that flew in October 2022 and came back on March 11.

Even though the United States and Russia have problems with each other, NASA still thinks it is important to work with Roscosmos to keep the space station running and to continue doing valuable scientific research.

When the agreement to share rides was announced, NASA said that it was important to make this deal with Russia to keep the space station safe. If either the Russian Soyuz spacecraft or the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule have problems and cannot be used, a deal has been made to exchange seats so that both American astronauts and Russian cosmonauts can still go to the space station.

Roscosmos didn’t have to use a SpaceX capsule instead of the damaged Soyuz MS-22 crew ship because they had the MS-23 spacecraft ready to launch. The coolant leak on the MS-22 vehicle didn’t necessarily mean that there would be problems with other Soyuz vehicles, according to officials.

Joel Montalbano, who manages NASA’s International Space Station program, said in July that Roscosmos (Russian space agency) looked into the problem and discovered that an “outside force” probably caused the leak. This suggests that a piece of space junk likely collided with the spacecraft.

“A group of researchers from NASA has examined it separately from the Russian team, and we have also found no evidence, based on the information provided by our Russian colleagues, that it is anything other than some kind of outside force or debris or something similar,” Montalbano explained.

While being in space, Rubio has witnessed many groups of astronauts coming and going using SpaceX vehicles. Besides the Axiom-2 crew who visited in May, the SpaceX Crew-6 astronauts have already arrived and left after Rubio came. And the Crew-7 team, consisting of astronauts from different space agencies including NASA, Roscosmos, JAXA, and ESA, reached the space station in August.

‘Mugabe was a better devil’

0

Four years have passed since the passing of former President Robert Mugabe, and nearly six years since his ousting in a 2017 military coup that ushered Emmerson Mnangagwa into power. During this time, there is a growing consensus that Zimbabwe’s multifaceted crisis has only deepened.

Mugabe’s death in Singapore on September 6, 2019, marked the end of a divisive era in Zimbabwean history. His legacy remains a topic of heated debate. Some hail him as a principled revolutionary who aimed to economically empower Black people through education and policies like indigenisation laws. However, many view him as a dictator who brought one of Africa’s most promising nations to the brink of collapse.

During his 37-year rule, Mugabe established an authoritarian regime that brutally suppressed political opposition, civil society, and human rights defenders. He tightened his grip on power, curbing free media and implementing the controversial land reform program, which violently removed productive white commercial farmers and replaced them with Zanu-PF elites. This led to an economic downturn as farms fell into disrepair.

Mugabe’s ousting in a coup raised hopes for change, but his successor, Mnangagwa, has presided over a worsening political and economic crisis, leaving many Zimbabweans nostalgic for the Mugabe era, despite its ruinous consequences.

The political crisis reached unprecedented levels when the Southern African Development Community (Sadc) election observer mission condemned the conduct of the August 24 polls, a stark departure from the past when Mugabe enjoyed Sadc’s esteem.

Under Mnangagwa’s rule, more repressive laws have been enacted, further shrinking the democratic space. The “Patriotic Bill,” officially the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Amendment Act 2022, has been criticized for stifling democracy by criminalizing actions perceived as harming Zimbabwe’s sovereignty and national interest. This ambiguous law has raised concerns about potential abuse by law enforcement.

Civil society organizations had urged the international community to prevent the enactment of such laws, but Mnangagwa disregarded these calls. Additionally, the Private Voluntary Organisation Amendment Bill restricts political involvement by civil society groups and empowers the registrar to penalize non-compliant organizations.

Mnangagwa’s rule has seen the imprisonment of political opponents like Job Sikhala and Jacob Ngarivhume.

Economically, Zimbabweans have suffered from skyrocketing inflation. In 2017, when Mugabe left office, the annual inflation rate was around 5%. However, it surged to 176% by June 2019 and has since risen to over 611%, making it the highest in the world. Food prices have also soared, with the United Nations reporting an annual food inflation rate of over 250%.

Public sector employees have seen their incomes drastically reduced, with civil servants earning approximately $540 under Mugabe, compared to about $300 today when combining salary and allowances figures. In RTGS (Zimbabwe’s parallel currency), salaries are roughly equivalent to $30.

The current president, Mnangagwa, is perceived as treating education as a commodity for those who can afford it, in contrast to Mugabe’s earlier efforts to provide free education. The privatization of public property has also become more common under Mnangagwa’s administration.

With Mnangagwa’s second term in hand, he has pledged to revitalize the economy and improve the lives of Zimbabweans. However, his election victory lacked global endorsement, raising questions about his ability to reintegrate Zimbabwe into the international community and steer the nation towards economic recovery and prosperity. The future of Zimbabwe remains uncertain under his leadership.
