WHAT IS MOTIVATING MUNDUBILE’S DESPERATION TO BE PF PRESIDENT? Can President Hakainde Hichilema come out clean and tell the nation why Brian Mundubile has suddenly become a darling of the state, so much so that he is being shielded and given unforeseen Police protection.
Our investigation has revealed that Mundubile was arrested and stayed in police cells for about two days yet the State kept it a secret. Given the insatiable appetite by the UPND government to arrest PF aligned individuals, the arrest of Hon. Brian Mundubile would have taken front page of the daily tabloids.
A little walk down memory lane, the handler of the famous Munyaule Facebook page, Chanda Nonde, an ally and right handman of Mundubile was abducted by state operatives that later charged him with cyber crimes but the matter died and disappeared without a trace.
The question today is, who negotiated for Nonde for the serious crime he committed to be swept under the carpet? Should we believe the rumors that Mundubile is a UPND project hence his crimes being hidden from the public eye to launder and make him look clean when the truth is he is dirty?
What of the cases of supplying air to government through his Build Trust Construction company? Why is the government not following him?
Why have endorsements of Mundubile hyped up only after the PF Secretary General, Raphael Nakacinda was sent to prison? Is the State working with Brian Mundubile to sabotage the Patriotic Front?
These are not cooked up issues but serious matters that require scrutiny. The UPND government have already told us that they engage imingalato whenever necessary. So we challenge Zambians to open their eyes and judge the people parading themselves as leaders even as we go towards the 2026 general election. source: Zambian Lens
I was deceived with another man’s pregnancy, cries Kanyama man
FOR nine months, a 27-year-old man of Lusaka’s Kanyama compound lived with excitement as he prepared to become a father.
Timothy Banda was convinced that his girlfriend, 22-year-old Tina Kabonde, was carrying his child and out of love, he supported her throughout the nine months of pregnancy.
Banda worked tirelessly to ensure his suppose baby had clothes, baby items and even gave Kabonde money to make sure she was comfortable throughout.
However, Banda did not know that the story he was told was far from the truth.
Real Times reports that just a month after the baby was born, Banda’s world came crashing down when he saw another man at Kabonde’s house, carrying groceries and baby supplies.
When Banda asked Kabonde who the man was, Kabonde and her family confessed that the baby Banda had been preparing for was not his.
Heartbroken and angry, Banda decided to take the matter to the Kanyama local court where he demanded that Kabonde and her family repay him all he spent on her.
“I do not want to argue with this family. They are heartless. All I want is for them to give me back the money I spent on the child,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kabonde, told the court that she never told Banda the pregnancy was his but claimed he chose to help her out of his own will because he wanted to marry her.
“He knew I had another man. He is just upset because I refused to marry him,” she defended herself.
When the case was heard before Magistrate Esther Mulomba, the court found that Kabonde had acted unfairly by accepting Banda’s help while knowing the child belonged to another man.
The court ordered Kabonde to compensate Banda for all the money he spent during her pregnancy.
Vice President Mutale Nalumango has announced that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) will only consider extending the ongoing mass voter registration exercise after reviewing progress against its national target of 3.5 million voters.
Delivering a ministerial statement in Parliament, Mrs. Nalumango said any extension, if granted, would be brief, stressing the importance of efficiency and prudent use of public resources.
With just ten days remaining before the initial deadline, the Vice President revealed that ECZ has so far registered approximately 290,000 voters nationwide a figure well below the target.
She acknowledged the challenge but urged eligible citizens to turn out in large numbers to register.
The Veep also disclosed that, in response to public calls for mobile issuance of National Registration Cards (NRCs), the Ministry of Home Affairs is now issuing NRCs in previously underserved areas to support the voter registration process.
While expressing concern about the financial implications of extending the registration period, she assured Parliament that ECZ is closely monitoring progress and will base its decision on data and logistical assessments. #SunFmTvNews

KAMBENDEKELE, THE SPECIAL MEAL FOR LUVALE HUSBANDS
Likumbi Lya Mize Traditional Ceremony
In Luvale culture, when a wife serves food for the guest to eat together with her husband, she’s expected to set aside a special portion called KAMBENDEKELE.. This is reserved in case her husband isn’t fully satisfied after the group meal — he can eat it later.
But this tradition isn’t about being stingy — it’s actually a beautiful act of care.
Often, the head of the household will eat less during a shared meal to make sure visitors have enough.
So, it becomes the wife’s thoughtful duty to keep some food aside for him to eat later.
They say KAMBENDEKELE is the secret to a Luvale man’s heart. Some even call it KAPACHISO!
COUNCILLOR SIMATAA OPPOSES ZIM MOVE TO ‘DOUBLE-TAX’ CONTENT CREATORS, SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISERS, AND BILLBOARDS
…business is already hard as it is with loadshedding, people need less tax, not more – this move by ZIM compounds suffering, it is unjust, morally repugnant, illegal and unconstitutional.
He writes…
I’m quite shocked to learn that the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) is moving to enforce a law that compels all those selling and advertising their products and services on social media (facebook, tik-tok, instagram et al) to register with them and pay tax or face consequences by January 2026.
This means social media advertisors whether selling cakes, clothes, cassava or advertising an event or a house for rent must comply with ZIM Law or face stiff penalties – which we assume includes fines, imprisonment or both; if they do not comply.
Firstly, business is already hard as it is with loadshedding: people need less tax, not more. This move by ZIM compounds suffering, it is unjust, morally repugnant, illegal and unconstitutional: to begin with ZIM is only a regulatory authority (created by and for its qualified and subscribed members) not a taxing authority for all things to do with advertising off and online.
By law only ZRA has the mandate to tax citizens, and in any case, social media advertisers are already being taxed by ZRA at 17% for placing a facebook ad.
Secondly, ZIM’s proposed tax violates 2 canonical principles of taxation: it’s not justified and it subjects its target content creators to double-taxation – all social media users pay indirect taxes to ZRA because our bundles are NOT FREE! They are taxed and absorbed in the cost of bundles which expire!
Finally, ZIM is also encroaching on all Local Authorities: its move to even try to regulate or tax billboard placement is ultra-vires: that mandate by law exclusively belongs to the Local Authorities because the ground on which they are mounted is the only source of revenue to the Council.
If ZIM cannot survive and sustain its operations on contributions from its membership, let them form a cooperative and apply for CDF, not this over-reach they are exhibiting that disturbs small businesses and usurps the authority of Councils and ZRA.
Zambian Supplier in Helicopter Purchase Scandal in Malawi
Govt transferred K3.4 billion advance payment for faulty choppers – New Court Documents Show
The Malawi government told the International Court of Arbitration it mistakenly paid the Zambian supplier some $500 000 instead of canceling the invalid contract.
The Supplier says wrong: You paid us $2 million!
The Malawi government paid a Zambian supplier an advanced payment of USD 2 million (approximately 3.4 billion kwacha) for two alleged grounded Bell 412 helicopters, some USD 1.5 million more than the figure cited by the Malawian government in court documents as the part payment it accidentally made to the company.
The company, AYA Technologies LTD, is suing the Malawi government at the International Court of Arbitration (ICC) in Paris for a sum of USD 4,644,718, (an estimated 8,065,552,807 Malawi kwacha) which represents 50% of the total Agreement Price, due on July 25, 2024–seven days from the contract execution date of July 18, 2024, according to documents sourced by PIJ.
As previously reported by PIJ, the controversial deal by the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) to acquire has escalated into a high-stakes international legal battle with a Zambian firm suing the Malawi government for billions over the controversial, now botched, attempted procurement.
In previously reported court documents, the Malawi government conceded paying the company a part payment of $500 000 but argues the contract should be canceled because the supplier has failed to live up to the terms of the contract by failing to submit documents proving the helicopters are safe to fly.
But in freshly acquired documents, the company counters that the Malawi government is making up allegations to avoid payments and cites the advance payment of $2 million as proof that the government committed itself to the contract.
“The gist of Respondent’s Counterclaim is that it actually never entered into a valid and binding agreement with Claimant, and yet some unidentified individuals within the Malawi government made a “mistake” and paid to Claimant more than half a million USD “under the mistaken belief that the sum was due and owing, when in fact no such obligation ever arose”,” reads the counterclaim from the lawyers of the Zambian company.
It adds: “The problem with this contention is that it is entirely refuted by the facts. Moreover, not only does it make no sense that half a million USD were ‘mistakenly’ paid, but it is also based on a wrong factual premise.
The Respondent made not one payment to Claimant, as asserted in the Counterclaim, but two payments totaling roughly USD 2,000,000The firm describes the assertions by the Malawi Government as “a rather strange story,” arguing that a highly detailed Agreement was signed and executed by the Commander of the Malawi Defence Force and the Chief of Staff of the Malawi Defence Force.
As previously revealed by the PIJ, the deal to purchase two grounded Bell 412 helicopters was led by former MDF commander General Valentino Phiri and then Defense Minister Harry Mkandawire, but it immediately raised eyebrows after inspectors’ reports revealed that the helicopters were unsafe for service, having last flown in 2013.
Sources say the Attorney General Thabo Nyirenda acting on technical report findings, wrote a memo to then President, Lazarus Chakwera, advising the president to cancel the deal.
But before the president moved on the matter, the MDF quickly made a part payment to the supplier.
The International Arbitration Claim
The documents reveal that AYA Technologies Ltd. (Zambia) filed a Request for Arbitration (ICC Case No. 29357/CPB) on March 10, 2025, with formal notification sent to the Malawian government in May 2025.
The basis of the supplier’s claim is the government’s alleged “repudiatory and material breach” of the contract (MDF/HEL/61/24). AYA Technologies asserts that Malawi was obligated to pay the first installment—50% of the Agreement Price, amounting to USD 4,644,718—on July 25, 2024, and was in arrears for over seven months when the arbitration request was filed.
AYA Technologies has since asked the court to order Malawi to comply with the $9.29 million contract immediately or pay damages for breach of contract, including applicable interest and the full costs of the arbitration.
According to court documents, Malawi contacted the company on June 12, 2023, for the purchase of the Bell 412 helicopters. The company says in April 2024, a final performance inspection of the specified helicopters “passed with flying colors” and a final agreement was reached on 18th July, 2024.
The company says it issued the first request for payment on 23rd July 2024, accompanied by an invoice No.001/MDF/2024 for an amount of USD 4 644, 718 which was 50 percent of the contract sum, but Malawi did not respond to the request and did not pay the amount.
The company says it made further requests on 9th August 2024 and 13th September 2024 and on 11th October 2024, made another payment reminder and officially asked Malawi for a 28-day negotiation prior to entering arbitrationGovt transferred K3.4 billion advance payment for faulty choppers – new court documents
FRA closes business after k3 billion payout to farmers
THE Food Reserve Agency-FRA has finally sealed its 2025 crop marketing season after recording historic maize purchases and releasing K3 billion to farmers across the country.
According to a statement issued by acting executive director Justin Chuunka, the Agency has announced that all designated purchase locations, commonly known as satellite depots, will close on 31st October 2025, signaling the end of one of the most successful crop marketing seasons to ever take place in Zambia.
As recorded on October 27 this year, FRA had aquired 1,659,368 metric tonnes of Grade A white maize, equivalent to 33,187,360 fifty-kilogramme bags.
The Agency also purchased 252.3 metric tonnes of paddy rice, translating to 6,308 forty-kilogramme bags.
“This year’s purchase figure for maize is the highest in the purchase records of the Agency,” Chuunka disclosed
However, FRA has since attributed this success to the resilience and hard work of local farmers, who tirelessly worked hard to produced nearly four million metric tonnes of maize and breaking the record as the highest national output ever recorded.
Chuunka revealed that, “the board and Management of the Agency wish to commend farmers for the resilience and hard work which resulted in the production of nearly four million metric tonnes of maize,”
The Agency further expressed gratitude to the government acknowledging and applauding its practical and progressive interventions and innovations in the agriculture sector that have continued to transform and revolutionize the industry.
As part of the 2025 marketing exercise, FRA confirmed that nearly K3 billion has been released to commercial banks to facilitate payments to farmers who supplied maize through its depots nationwide.
“This development improves the welfare of rural households through the availability of disposable incomes,”Chuunka said
The Agency has also applauded the Ministry of Agriculture for timely coordination under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP), which has allowed farmers to access farming inputs early in preparation for the 2026 farming season.
As the 2025 marketing season draws to a close, the FRA says planning for the 2026 season is already underway, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the country’s food security and supporting the growth of the agricultural sector.

More than 130 killed as Brazil raid on a Rio favela turns deadly.
A state police operation targeting a major drug gang in Brazil has resulted in the deaths of 132 people in low-income neighbourhoods in Rio de Janeiro – the deadliest raid in the country’s history.
Authorities initially said fewer than half that number had been killed in the favelas – the Portuguese term for slum. Protests against excessive police force have since broken out and activists are calling for Rio’s governor to resign over what local people have described as a “slaughter”.
State police said the operation carried out on Tuesday had been planned for months. The “sting” aimed to drive suspects into a forested hillside where special operation units were waiting to ambush them.
The following day, dozens of favela residents gathered in front of the state government headquarters shouting “assassins!” just hours after family members laid dozens of bodies out on a street in one of the targeted areas.
Among those expressing shock about the death toll was President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. According to Brazil’s justice minister, Lula was “astonished” that the federal government had not been informed about or asked to cooperate in the operation beforehand.
Arriving on foot and in armoured cars, police launched a predawn raid targeting the Comando Vermelho (Red Command) gang, one of Brazil’s oldest criminal organisations, in Rio’s northern neighbourhoods of Penha Complex and Alemao Complex.
Alarming evidence has surfaced from the current wave of protest crackdowns in Tanzania — spent bullet casings stamped “ZW”, denoting manufacture by Zimbabwe Defence Industries (ZDI), have been recovered from several scenes where civilians were shot.
The ZW headstamp is the official factory mark for ZDI, Zimbabwe’s state-owned arms producer based near Harare, known for supplying the Zimbabwe National Army and regional security forces. The discovery strongly suggests that Zimbabwe-made ammunition has been used — or supplied — in the ongoing suppression of Tanzanian demonstrators.
Former Zimbabwe National Army weapons instructor Shepherd Yuda (@ShepherdYuda4) said:
“They are likely imported — or the actual gunmen are Zimbabweans.”
manufacturer signature of the bullets reflecting that they were made in Zimbabwe
Ammunition experts confirm that the recovered rounds are 7.62×39 mm calibre, typically fired from AK-pattern rifles used by riot and military units. The bullets’ identical ZW factory markings point to a single source: Zimbabwe Defence Industries.
The presence of ZDI-manufactured rounds in Tanzania’s domestic security operations raises grave questions about regional arms transfers, SADC military cooperation, and potential cross-border deployment of personnel.
Human rights monitors are urging an independent forensic audit to trace the bullets’ serial batches and confirm whether they were sold to Tanzania officially or moved through covert regional channels.
As eyewitnesses continue to document the shootings, these shell casings — etched unmistakably with “ZW” — now stand as forensic proof linking Zimbabwean ammunition to Tanzanian bloodshed.

“Cameroonians,
My dear compatriots,
Since the proclamation of falsified results, wrested from the truth of the ballot box by the Constitutional Council, our country has been experiencing unprecedented tension.
Once again, the will of the people has been confiscated, popular sovereignty trampled. But this time, the people have risen up. Standing tall, dignified, courageous, they have said no to the seizure of power.
In every region, from North to South, from East to West, Cameroonians have expressed themselves peacefully, with the only weapon granted to them by the Constitution: their voice.
And yet, this voice was met with the roar of gunfire. Live ammunition answered the cries of freedom. Our parents, our children, have been cut down in the prime of their lives, and peaceful marches have been transformed into indiscriminate repression, with racial profiling.
Today, the provisional toll is heavy:
Arbitrary arrests of political leaders, civil society actors, content creators, and thousands of protesters,
Hundreds dead and wounded,
Entire families plunged into mourning, recalling the traumatic events of 1984.
While the people mourn their martyrs, those responsible for this tragedy shamelessly celebrate, displaying their cynicism and contempt for the people on social media.
In a video that went viral, the president of the Constitutional Council himself, drunk on champagne, boasted of having “secured” the victory of the incumbent president.
What a disgrace for our Republic!
But those who believe that fear will make us yield are sorely mistaken: a people who have lost their fear are an invincible people.
Cameroonians, Despite this climate of terror orchestrated to force us to retreat, we will not yield.
I therefore call upon you, from Monday, November 3rd to Wednesday, November 5th, to observe a general strike. Let the entire country come to a standstill, so that the whole world knows that we are resisting and that we will not give in. Let us keep our businesses closed, suspend our activities, stay home, in silence, to show our solidarity and remind this regime that the strength of an economy lies in its people—and these people no longer recognize it as their leader.
People of Cameroon, This is no time for fear or division. Let us stand tall, united, proud, and in solidarity against those who, with Machiavellian cynicism, invoke peace while sowing terror and reigning over misery and bloodshed.
Let us remain calm, but determined. Let us remain dignified, but unwavering.
I repeat: our victory will not be stolen.
I have made a firm commitment never to betray you, and I will not fail. This is the purpose of the rest of my life. Together, we will win this victory.
God bless Cameroon. Glory and honor to our martyrs.

Pressure mounting on Ramaphosa to do away with deputy ministers
By: Sabc News
Pressure is mounting on South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to trim his Cabinet and do away with deputy ministers.
This follows revelations that two deputy police ministers had gone for over a year without any specific responsibilities delegated to them.
This week, Deputy Police Minister Cassel Mathale told the Ad Hoc Committee in Parliament that suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu had not delegated duties to him and his counterpart Polly Boshielo.
Some political parties and activists have criticized the establishment of some deputy minister positions as a waste of taxpayers’ money. #SunFmTvNews
TANZANIA ELECTION RESULTS: Samia Runs, Samia Wins, Samia Rules! as Opposition was invited to watch from home.
The National Electoral Commission has spoken — again. Tanzania’s very own Iron Lady with a Smile, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has officially secured a jaw-dropping 85.4% of the vote. That’s not just a landslide — that’s a political tsunami.
Let’s be honest: calling it an election might be generous. It was more like a victory parade with ballot boxes for decoration. Opposition parties tried to show up, but by the time they finished printing posters, Samia had already given her victory speech.
This win marks her first fully elected term (2025–2030) — though some say she’s been in charge so long that even the presidential palace furniture now salutes her in the morning.
As Tanzania’s first female president, she’s made history — again — proving that when women lead, men follow… mostly because they’ve all been “politically unavailable” lately.
Critics whisper about the “strength of opposition politics” in Tanzania, but it’s hard to measure strength when the competition is invisible. One local joked, “Our opposition is like a Wi-Fi signal — it exists, but you can’t always connect.”
Still, her next five years could bring continuity, economic reform, and another 85.4% victory in 2030. As for women’s representation in African leadership — let’s just say Samia isn’t just breaking the glass ceiling; she’s using the shards to make a new crown.
In summary: Tanzania has voted, Samia has won, and democracy has decided to take a nap.
President Trump is considering a major overhaul of the U.S. refugee system that would prioritize white applicants and English speakers while cutting overall admissions. Internal documents show the plan could reshape how America accepts refugees in the coming years.
The proposals, drafted by the State and Homeland Security Departments, recommend prioritizing Europeans, including white South Africans, and individuals who oppose mass migration. These changes reflect Trump’s long-held goal of tightening both legal and illegal immigration.
According to The New York Times, officials said the proposals are still under review, but parts of the plan are already being enforced. The administration has lowered the refugee cap and begun giving special consideration to Afrikaners, South Africa’s white minority group.
Trump has argued that white South Africans face racial persecution, a claim denied by South African authorities. Police statistics indicate that white citizens are not more likely to be victims of violent crime than other racial groups.
If fully implemented, the new refugee policy would assess applicants based on how well they could assimilate into American culture. They would be required to take lessons on U.S. history, values, and respect for cultural norms. The documents also propose limiting refugee placements in areas with large immigrant populations to reduce what they describe as “the concentration of non-native citizens.”
One report supporting the plan claims that increased diversity has weakened social trust in the U.S. It recommends admitting only refugees who can “fully assimilate” and align with the administration’s objectives. The proposal could also cancel hundreds of thousands of pending refugee applications already in the system.
Another major change would shift authority from the United Nations to U.S. embassies to decide who qualifies as a refugee. This move would give Washington more control over which applicants are approved.
Critics say the plan exposes an effort to make the refugee system favor white and Christian applicants. The Trump administration, however, insists that the goal is to prioritize the nation’s interests and ensure that newcomers align with American culture and values.
TANZANIA TENSION BUILDS AHEAD OF PARLIAMENT VISIT
Tanzanians have vowed to march to Parliament today as nationwide protests continue to grow.
Meanwhile, confusion deepened after several Gen Z protesters reportedly dressed in full police uniforms, blending in with officers stationed around Parliament.
Authorities are said to be on high alert as it’s becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish real officers from protesters in disguise. The situation remains tense in Dar es Salaam ahead of today’s events.
Tanzania’s National Electoral Commission has declared President Samia Suluhu Hassan the official President-Elect, securing 85.4% of the vote in a race where she ran virtually unopposed.
This marks Suluhu’s first full elected term (2025–2030), solidifying her position as the nation’s first female president, a role she first assumed in 2021 following the passing of former President John Magufuli.
Her victory signals continuity but also raises questions about the strength of opposition politics in Tanzania and what her next five years could mean for governance, economic reform, and women’s representation in African leadership.
Breaking: Thabo Mbeki Blames Apartheid Spies for ANC’s Decay — Not Corruption, Just Espionage!
It’s official: South Africa’s governance hasn’t collapsed because of bad leadership, rampant corruption, or sheer incompetence. Nope. Former President Thabo Mbeki has a far more dramatic—and convenient—explanation: apartheid agents are secretly sabotaging the ANC from within.
On a podcast, Mbeki dusted off the old fear, claiming a “systematic programme” of infiltration pre-1994 has placed apartheid-era spies in “key leadership positions” today. He even named one high-ranking member, alleging their main job is to cover their tracks and pin the blame on Mbeki himself. Because obviously, when the country is falling apart, it’s much easier to blame a shadowy spy than admit policy failures.
Mbeki’s proof? Economic performance:
During his tenure (2000–2008), GDP per capita grew 28.2%.
After the 2007 Polokwane conference and a “new” leadership, things went south.
His conclusion? Those in power post-2007 “aren’t true ANC members”—they’re just “enemies in ANC T-shirts.”
So, the culprits for South Africa’s woes now include: Van Riebeeck, colonialism, general corruption… and 600+ secret agents who apparently slept through a decade before launching their epic sabotage campaign.
Comforting, isn’t it? It’s never just ordinary failure—our problems are a cinematic conspiracy.

KELVIN KAUNDA ENDORSES BRIAN MUNDUBILE FOR PF PRESIDENCY
Details in the statement……
PRESS STATEMENT BY MR. KELVIN KAUNDA ON THE NEED FOR UNITY OF PURPOSE AMONG OPPOSITION POLITICAL PARTIES
Fellow citizens,
At this critical juncture in our nation’s political life, I wish to make an earnest call for unity of purpose among all opposition political parties in Zambia. The challenges our country faces today ranging from economic hardship and governance deficiencies demand not division, but collaboration anchored on shared national values and the collective pursuit of a better Zambia for all.
Our democracy thrives when there exists a strong, credible, and issue-based opposition. It is, therefore, imperative that opposition leaders rise above narrow interests and personal ambitions to build a United Front capable of offering Zambians a viable and trustworthy alternative in the 2026 general elections.
In this regard, I have followed with keen interest the ongoing developments in my former party, the Patriotic Front (PF). After broad consultation and observation of the political dynamics at play, it is my considered view that Hon. Brian Mundubile stands out as the most suitable leader to steer the PF through its current challenges and into a position of renewed strength, unity, and relevance.
Hon. Mundubile has consistently demonstrated maturity, composure, and an understanding of the broader national interest beyond partisan lines. His inclusive leadership style and capacity to engage across political divides make him well placed to consolidate the PF and, by extension, strengthen the wider opposition movement.
A strong PF is not only necessary but indispensable to the creation of a strong and effective opposition alliance–an opposition capable of holding government accountable, safeguarding democracy, and providing hope to millions of Zambians yearning for genuine change.
Let us, therefore, put Zambia first. Let us embrace dialogue, cooperation, and the spirit of unity as we look ahead to the 13th August 2026 general elections. Our country’s progress depends on it.
HH HAS FAILED IN ALMOST ALL SECTORS, NOT JUST ENERGY- MUNDUBILE
MPOROKOSO PF MP Brian Mundubile says President Hakainde Hichilema and his government have failed in almost all sectors, not only in energy.
On Tuesday, President Hichilema acknowledged that both government and the nation had failed in the energy sector.
He said government admitted its failure and would use it as an opportunity to solve the energy problem going forward.
In an interview, Wednesday, Mundubile said the President should have admitted that he failed in almost everything he thought he would thrive in.
“In as much as the President has acknowledged that they have failed in the energy sector, I think he should have gone further to also accept the other failures.
They have not only failed in the energy sector, they have also failed in the Agriculture sector. Today farmers still remain unpaid, and have failed in the area of the economy. We have a high cost of living, so he should have admitted that, ‘we have failed in the energy sector, in the agriculture sector, we’ve failed in the economy, we’ve also failed in the fight against corruption.’ So, admitting that he has failed in the energy sector is not enough; they have failed in almost all the sectors, so what he should have done is say, ‘look, we have failed in most of the areas where we thought we could thrive,’ and immediately render an apology to the Zambian people for unfulfilled promises,” he said.
“Him saying, ‘no, we have failed in the energy sector,’ it’s not only in the energy sector, he should have gone further to state all the other sectors he has failed. I don’t think he was being sincere in only mentioning one sector when the failure has been recorded in almost all the sectors. The biggest problem there now is the high cost of living. He should have started talking about the economy, the high cost of living, the poverty levels are now averaging 80 percent in the rural areas, and over 60 percent in the urban areas”.
Commenting on the President’s remark that the fight against corruption was not ethnic cleansing, Mundubile wondered how many people in his government had been arrested for corruption.
“If he says that the fight against corruption is not ethnic cleansing, we ask questions: how many people from his government have been charged, suspended or indeed convicted for corruption? There is more than overwhelming evidence of corruption in his government. The report by the American Ambassador tells a story, the reports around the 51 containers and other areas in the health sector tell a story. There have been reports written by contractors exposing the ministers soliciting for bribes, so there have been reports of Ministers being summoned by ACC and nothing has happened. We think that those are crocodile tears,” said Mundubile.
“Whenever he talks about thieves in Lusaka, he was referring to CDF, but today we see what is going on even with the increased CDF; we have people that would buy ambulances that take over two years to come. So, figures don’t lie, the FIC reports will give you an indication of what is really going on in the economy. So, the thieves are still in Lusaka.
Look at what is happening in the energy sector, we know of contracts that were given under open access in the procurement of fuel, and fuel was being sold at a premium. The neighbouring country Malawi would sell at half the price. So, I don’t know what he has done about those thieves.
Look at the export of power, businesses are collapsing every day because of load shedding, but there are traders who are trading in power making millions and millions of Kwachas, and they live in Lusaka. So, I don’t know what he has done to resolve the challenges of the thieves”.
A WEEK after presidential candidate Dolika Banda joined John Sangwa’s movement, Golden Party Zambia (GPZ) president Jackson Silavwe has also joined forces with the Movement for National Renewal.
Silavwe announced yesterday that his party had officially joined the MNR, explaining that his decision follows a period of reflection and wide consultations.
The GPZ leader stated that Zambia’s progress cannot entirely depend on politicians but on the active involvement of all citizens.
“After a period of deep reflection, consultation and dialogue, the GPZ has resolved to align itself with the MNR recognising that Zambia’s future must be reclaimed by its citizens, not through partisan contestation, but through shared purpose, civic renewal and moral leadership,” he stated.
Silavwe clarified that the partnership was not a political alliance but a shared effort to bring Zambians together.
He said the MNR is not a political party, but a movement whose goal is to mobilise at least one million citizens by December 31, 2025, who will commit themselves to promoting good governance.
According to Silavwe, the GPZ’s decision to join the MNR is part of a larger plan to encourage Zambians to reclaim their power and participate in shaping the country’s destiny.
Afterwards, the trio, Silavwe, Banda and Sangwa are expected to hold a joint public meeting to discuss their plans and explain how citizens can blend in the movement.
DIRECTOR of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gilbert Phiri has filed a defamation lawsuit against UK-based Zambian deputy ‘Jesus’ Lillian Mutambo for publishing false and malicious statements that tarnished his reputation and questioned his integrity in the administration of justice.
According to court documents filed before the Lusaka High Court, Phiri has applied for leave to serve the writ of summons outside Zambia and for substituted service through email and courier, as Mutambo is believed to be domiciled in the United Kingdom.
The case is from statements Mutambo allegedly posted on October 7, 2025, on her Facebook page, “Lily Mutamz TV.”
In the posts, she accused DPP of favouring Maria Zaloumis, popularly known as Zed Farmer, by reducing her charge from murder to manslaughter and granting her bail in a case involving the death of Enock Simfukwe.
Mutambo, who claimed to have been a former student of Phiri, went on to describe him as a bully, narcissist and corrupt,” alleging that he was using his position to “protect” Zaloumis and politically connected individuals.
The posts reportedly garnered over 1,500 views and were widely shared.
The DPP in his affidavit in support of an ex-parte application, argues that the statements were entirely false, defamatory, and malicious, made without any regard for truth, and designed to injure his reputation.
He contends that the remarks subjected him to ridiculeed , public scorn, and mental anguish, undermining public confidence in his office as a high-ranking public official.
He states that through his lawyers, he issued a demand letter on October 13, asking Mutambo to retract the statements, issue a public apology on the same platforms, and compensate him for reputational harm. However, Mutambo allegedly ignored the demand and continued publishing similar remarks on her YouTube channel, “Lily Mutamz TV.”
The DPP is seeking a declaration that Mutambo’s statements were defamatory, a court order compelling her to issue a public apology, and an injunction restraining her from further making such statements. He is also demanding general, aggravated, and exemplary damages, along with interest and legal costs.
The defamation claim is linked to the ongoing prosecution of Zaloumis (40) of Tuzini Farms in Chisamba District, who is jointly charged with her Nigerian husband and three employees for the alleged murder of Enock Simfukwe.
DPP’S LEGAL SUIT AGAINST PRIVATE IS AN ACT OF INTIMIDATION AND BULLYING TO SILENCE THOSE DEMANDING HIS ACCOUNTABILITY
…Emmanuel Mwamba to Join Case as Friend of the Court…
The decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Gilbert Phiri to sue private citizens who are questioning his decisions that are suspicious and appear to be an abuse of his office, is an act of intimidation and bullying.
I have instructed my lawyers that I join the case as amicus curiae (fruend of the court), a matter in which the DPP is suing a Zambian national Lillian Mutambo who is resident in the United Kingdom for questioning his decisions to drop murder charges against Maria Zaloumis, daughter to Electoral Commission of Zambia, Mwangala Zaloumis, and replacing those charges with manslaughter.
I hold that the DPP abused his powers, illegally and without due justification, amended the charge of murder.
He further refused to object to the bail application by the accused especially the foreigner in the case who may present higher chances of flight risk.
The DPP’s decision is highly suspicious looking at the manner and speed they were done, especially that the accused person’s perceived proximity to the Republican President as seen by numerous public pictures paused at State Hoise and elsewhere, and the high sensitive and key position held by the mother in the governance structure of the country.
The DPP’s decision to sue those questioning his decision is sn act of bullying and a desperate attempt to silence those demanding him to be accountable as the position he holds is a constitutional one.

KABWE MAYOR DENIES INVOLVEMENT IN SUSPECTED SALARY FRAUD AT MUNICIPAL COUNCIL
Kabwe Mayor Patrick Chishala has dismissed social media allegations linking him to a suspected salary fraud scheme involving double payments at the Kabwe Municipal Council, which is currently under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC).
Addressing journalists at a press briefing held at his Civic Centre office in Kabwe, Central Province, Mr. Chishala strongly refuted claims that he had any connection to the alleged payroll manipulation, describing the reports as “false, baseless, and politically motivated.”
“I do not know this Felix Sichali personally, and I have never instructed anyone to process double salaries on my behalf,” he said.
His remarks follow the arrest of Felix Sichali, a group accountant at the Kabwe Municipal Council, who is accused of using the Payflex payroll system to process double salaries for senior management officials and the mayor without proper authorization.
Reliable sources within the council revealed that no bank reconciliations have been conducted since September 2024 a lapse that may have enabled Sichali to execute unauthorized transactions undetected.
Meanwhile, a joint team of law enforcement officers has reportedly recovered four brand-new vehicles believed to have been purchased by Sichali and his girlfriend, who works at Indo Bank in Kabwe. The two were detained on Wednesday night.
During questioning, Sichali allegedly claimed he was acting on instructions from senior council officials to process double salaries and channel funds through “Bogus” companies purportedly contracted to supply goods and services to the council allegations that point to deeper institutional corruption.
Mayor Chishala maintained that all financial transactions at the council are conducted transparently and in line with laid-down financial regulations. He urged the public to remain calm and allow law enforcement agencies to conclude their investigations.
“The council operates under clear financial procedures and controls. I have nothing to hide, and I welcome the ongoing investigations to bring out the truth,” he stated.
As of press time, the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) had not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
FIRM MANAGED BY IBA MURDER ACCUSED GOT K400,000 A DAY AFTER KILLING – COURT
By Darius Choonya
The Lusaka High Court has heard that while Francis Chipyoka was serving as acting accountant at the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA), the authority made several payments to Veridian Dynamics, a company run by co-accused Samuel Dokowe.
Both Mr. Chipyoka and Samuel Dokowe are accused of killing Mr. Muleya on July 23, 2024 with others being Caleb Zulu and Mthusani Dokowe.
The payments were made despite the company not supplying any goods or services to the Authority.
Testifying before High Court Judge Vincent Siloka, the IBA Head of Procurement and Supply Sydney Mfuya says one of the payments amounted to K400,000, made to the company on July 24, 2024, a day after Mr. Muleya was murdered.
In an earlier court session, it was revealed that Samuel Dokowe’s fingerprints matched those lifted from Mr. Muleya’s vehicle, which had been abandoned at a car park in Lusaka’s Chawama Compound.
BREAKING NEWS: IBRAHIM TRAORE DISSOLVES ELECTORAL COMMISSION CALLING IT WASTE OF MONEY
Burkina Faso’s parliament has voted to dissolve the country’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), calling it a “waste of public resources.”
Under the new arrangement, the Ministry of Territorial Administration which oversees the organization and governance of the national territory will now be responsible for conducting future elections.
President Ibrahim Traoré justified the move, accusing the Electoral Commission of serving as a “vehicle for foreign influence.”
This decision marks the latest step in the military-led government’s ongoing efforts to distance Burkina Faso from external interference and assert greater national control over state institutions.
Matthew Jackson, a police officer from Detroit, Michigan, left a judge speechless after appearing in a virtual court hearing wearing his uniform shirt and badge — but without any pants. The strange moment quickly drew attention online and led to an apology from the Detroit Police Department.
Jackson attended a Zoom hearing at Detroit’s 36th District Court on Monday for a reckless driving and public intoxication case. In a video posted on YouTube, he can be seen wearing his official police uniform from the waist up while sitting in boxers.
Judge Sean Perkins immediately noticed the unusual attire and hesitated before asking, “You got some pants on, officer?” Jackson admitted, “No, sir,” and shifted his camera to show only his upper body, according to The Independent.
The moment caused confusion among other participants, but the judge decided to continue the hearing without further comment. Jackson did not reappear on camera afterward, and no explanation was given for his lack of pants.
Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison later apologized, saying officers are expected to present themselves “in a dignified and professional manner while attending court proceedings.” He added that Jackson’s behavior “not representative of the professionalism of this department” and confirmed the matter would be handled internally.
According to the court’s website, participants are required to follow a casual business dress code, which prohibits shorts and other inappropriate attire during hearings.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama revealed why she chose not to wear braids during her years in the White House and how embracing her natural hair today represents freedom, confidence, and self-expression.
Nearly ten years after leaving Washington, Obama is reflecting on her personal growth in her new book, The Look, coming out on November 4. The coffee table book highlights her evolving relationship with fashion, beauty, and identity through photos and stories from different stages of her life.
Now 61, Obama says she finally feels free to make choices solely for herself. “This is the first time in my life when every decision I make is for me,” she told People. One of those choices includes returning to her favorite childhood hairstyle — braids.
“It’s freedom,” she said. Braids let her swim, play tennis, and enjoy life without worrying about her hair. Growing up on Chicago’s South Side, she saw protective styles like braids as both practical and empowering. In The Look, she revisits those early experiences through personal photos and memories.
But during her time as First Lady, Obama admits she avoided wearing braids in public. “I wasn’t sure whether the country was ready for it,” she explained. The CROWN Act, which protects against hair-based discrimination, hadn’t been passed yet, and she didn’t want her hairstyle to overshadow her role.
That mindset shifted in 2022 when she wore braids to the official unveiling of her and Barack Obama’s portraits. “I wanted to send a message,” she said. “This too is an appropriate and beautiful way to wear your hair.”
Her hairstylists, Yene Damtew and Njeri Radway, share that sentiment. Damtew said Obama’s choice to embrace her natural look celebrates identity and self-love. Radway, who has braided her hair for years, called it a shared moment of pride.
For Obama, that expression is deeply personal. “This is what we understand about our hair, as women of color, that the way our hair naturally grows out of our head, is beautiful,” she said. “And if I want to wear it straight, if I want bangs, if I want braids, if I want them up, if I want to add a little color to it, let that be my business. Nothing is inappropriate.”
Her new book, The Look, is available for pre-order on Amazon
Nelson Chamisa continues to question the legitimacy of the 2023 elections. He argues that unresolved electoral issues weaken Zimbabwe’s political foundations. According to him, democracy cannot flourish without credible elections.
Chamisa insists that transparency remains essential for national stability. He believes this moment marks a turning point for Zimbabwean politics. Furthermore, he claims economic renewal requires political legitimacy first. He frequently calls for accountability and institutional reform.
In addition, he maintains that citizens deserve fairness and genuine participation. Chamisa views electoral justice as the bedrock of progress. Therefore, he warns that ignoring these concerns delays national recovery.
Nelson Chamisa speaks on the Parliament power cut This week, Chamisa again dramatically criticised the government. He reacted to the unexpected power cut during the president’s SONA address. The incident shocked many Zimbabweans watching the proceedings. Chamisa used the moment to highlight what he called national decline.
He said it symbolised dysfunction across state institutions. “Trabablas everywhere,” he declared on Facebook, emphasising endless chaos. He listed failures in the constitution, the economy, and governance. Additionally, he mentioned corruption and looting of public resources. Chamisa argued that the crisis has reached Parliament itself. He suggested even power supply cannot be trusted in key moments.
Moreover, he stated that failure eventually consumes its authors. His words resonated with frustrated citizens facing daily hardships. Many feel the power cut exposed governance shortcomings. Chamisa framed the moment as a metaphor for national decay. He called it a clear picture of Zimbabwe’s state today.
What Zimbabweans say Chamisa’s remarks reignited debate on leadership and accountability. Supporters praised his bold criticism of state performance. Critics dismissed his comments as politicised rhetoric. Nevertheless, the “trabablas” message sparked fresh national reflection.

Pope Leo XIV has officially declared Bartolo Longo, along with six others, as a new saint for the Catholic Church.
Longo was born in 1841 in Latiano, Italy, and trained as a lawyer. After the de@th of his father, he became involved in occult practices and reportedly served as a Satanic priest, engaging in extreme fasting and allegedly making a pact with a demon.
He later turned his life around before eventually being guided back to the Catholic faith by Professor Vincenzo Pepe.
After renouncing Satanism, Longo took a vow of celibacy and devoted himself to charitable works.
He founded the Pontifical Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompeii, as well as an orphanage for girls in 1887 and an institute for the sons of prisoners in 1892.
In 1922, he established another institute for the daughters of prisoners. He also volunteered for two years at the Neapolitan Hospital for Incurables.
Longo d!ed in 1926 and was remembered for his dramatic transformation from a life of darkness to one of faith and service, ultimately earning sainthood in the Catholic Church.
He was canonized along with six others, including three nuns, a Venezuelan ‘doctor of the poor’, and an archbishop killed in the Armenian genocide.
Pope Leo said on October 19: ‘Today we have before us seven witnesses, the new Saints, who, with God’s grace, kept the lamp of faith burning.
‘May their intercession assist us in our trials and their example inspire us in our shared vocation to holiness.’
Prior to his death in 1926, Longo did a great deal of the Lord’s work.
By 1871, he had become a third-order Dominican and was feverishly working to encourage people in Pompeii to return to their faith.
He went on to receive a portrait of Our Lady of the Rosary at Pompeii, and according to the Catholic News Agency, ‘miracles started to happen’.
On the first day Longo unveiled the picture to the public, a 12-year-old girl who suffered from ‘incurable’ epileptic seizures was said to have been ‘completely healed’.
Archbishop Tommaso Caputo of Pompei told EWTN of the saint’s work: “Longo arrived in Pompeii to take care of the properties of the countess and, walking through those streets – dangerous because of the presence of bandits and malaria – he felt an inner inspiration.
The United States has entered a deepening economic information blackout as a government shutdown has halted the release of crucial federal data for nearly a month, leaving policymakers, businesses, and investors without key indicators such as employment figures, trade data, and GDP performance. The situation is expected to worsen by Thursday, October 30, as Washington delays the publication of gross domestic product numbers for the July-to-September period, a critical measure of the nation’s economic growth.
The shutdown, caused by a political stalemate between Republicans and Democrats in Congress, has already suspended reports on labor force participation, retail sales, and trade. Only a few furloughed staff have been recalled to release essential inflation data used to determine Social Security payments. Analysts warn that the absence of reliable information is making it increasingly difficult for businesses to plan for 2026, with many likely to scale back hiring and investment amid uncertainty.
“There’s a huge demand right now for government data,” said Heather Long, chief economist at Navy Federal Credit Union. “Every industry is trying to figure out if the Federal Reserve is going to keep cutting interest rates.” She added that companies are struggling to finalize their 2026 budgets without understanding whether the economy is heading for growth, stagnation, or recession.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates the shutdown could cost the economy as much as $14 billion, while Oxford Economics’ Matthew Martin said uncertainty created by the shutdown — compounded by President Donald Trump’s tariffs — is likely to prompt firms to take a more cautious approach. “Businesses would therefore reduce their overall hiring to be on the safe side until they see data that really points towards increased demand,” he said.
Financial markets are also facing challenges as traders and investors lack access to official figures needed to guide investment decisions. Economists warn that if the shutdown lasts into mid-November, many of the delayed reports may not be released until December, while some October data could be lost entirely. “The risk is no data or tainted data,” Long said, explaining that the reliability of information diminishes if too much time passes before it is collected.
Although private sector sources have attempted to fill the gap, experts stress that government-produced statistics remain the most accurate and widely trusted. Wendy Edelberg of the Brookings Institution said there is already uncertainty about the labor market and population trends, including how many people have left the country since early 2025. Sarah House, senior economist at Wells Fargo, added that while headline GDP growth has appeared strong, “there are signs of strain underneath the surface,” noting that not all sectors are performing equally well.
She also warned that the shutdown is hurting consumer confidence. “If you’re not sure when your next paycheck is coming as a government worker, you’re not going to be going out to eat for dinner,” she said. “You’re maybe pushing off a trip, or just not buying little discretionary things.”
With no resolution in sight, the ongoing impasse in Washington continues to cast a shadow over the world’s largest economy, and the longer the data drought persists, the harder it becomes for decision-makers to navigate the months ahead.
US President Donald Trump has claimed victory over what he called the “hoax” of climate change, after billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates said a warming world would not end civilisation.
Posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that Gates had “admitted that he was completely wrong” on the issue of climate change.
“I (WE!) just won the War on the Climate Change Hoax. Bill Gates has finally admitted that he was completely WRONG on the issue. It took courage to do so, and for that we are all grateful,” Trump in a post.
Donald Trump and his allies have denied climate change, calling it a “ liberal hoax”. He has even reversed policies aimed at combating the crisis that were started by the previous US administrations.
The Republican even trashed climate change as the “greatest con job ever” in an address to the UN General Assembly in September. He has rolled back green policies since returning to power in January, following a victorious 2024 election campaign that received hundreds of millions of dollars in donations from Big Oil.
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said in a long memo this week that climate change “will not lead to humanity’s demise,” in what was seen as a major pivot by the 70-year-old.
Gates added that while climate change would have “serious” consequences, “people will be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future.”
He argued that tackling global disease and poverty would instead help prepare the planet’s poorest for a warming world.
Gates acknowledged that critics may charge him with hypocrisy because of his significant carbon footprint or argue the memo was a “sneaky way of arguing that we shouldn’t take climate change seriously.”
However, he pointed to significant progress in cutting emissions to date and said he was optimistic that future technology would do even more.
Reality TV star and business mogul Kim Kardashian has found herself in the middle of a wild debate after saying she doesn’t believe the 1969 moon landing was real.
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, the 45-year-old tried to convince actress Sarah Paulson that the historic Apollo 11 mission was staged — and she came prepared with “evidence.”
“I’m sending you so far a million interviews with both Buzz Aldrin and… the other one,” Kim said, referring to Neil Armstrong.
“This girl asks, ‘What was the scariest moment?’ and [Aldrin] goes, ‘There was no scary moment, cause it didn’t happen.’”
Paulson, amused but curious, encouraged her to “do it,” while Kim doubled down, claiming the astronaut had “gotten old” and started to “slip up.”
“So I think it didn’t happen,” Kim boldly declared.
In her confessional, she went even further:
“I don’t think we did. I think it was fake. I’ve seen a few videos of Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn’t happen. He says it all the time now.”
The SKIMS founder then began scrolling through her phone, asking all the “TikTok scientist” questions — “Why is the flag blowing when there’s no gravity? Why are the moon shoes in the museum different from the photos? Why are there no stars?”
When a producer asked what she’d say to people calling her crazy, Kim replied,
“They’re gonna say I’m crazy no matter what. But like… go to TikTok. See for yourself.”
Meanwhile, Buzz Aldrin, now 95, has never said the moon landing was fake. His so-called “slip-ups” were old interview clips taken out of context — one from 2015, where he simply said a “scary moment didn’t happen.”
For the record, Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were the first two people to walk on the moon on July 20, 1969 — a day Aldrin himself still commemorates every year as “an achievement born of teamwork and effort.”
Real Madrid and the Super League promoters are demanding more than $4 billion in damages from UEFA, accusing European football’s governing body of unlawfully blocking the breakaway competition, a source confirmed to AFP on Thursday, October 30.
The move follows a decision by a Spanish court on Wednesday, which dismissed UEFA’s appeal relating to the case and sided with the Super League’s backers.
The Super League, unveiled in 2021 by 12 of Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona, collapsed within days after massive backlash from fans, particularly in England, and threats of sanctions from UEFA and FIFA.
In December 2023, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled that UEFA’s and FIFA’s attempt to block the Super League violated European competition law. A Spanish judge later determined that the two governing bodies had “prevented free competition”, accusing them of anti-competitive conduct and abuse of dominant position in European football.
The Madrid court also rejected appeals from La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation, clearing the way for the Super League organisers to pursue financial claims.
A22 Sports Management, the company promoting the Super League, said it regretted UEFA’s refusal to engage in meaningful reform despite “months of discussions.” The firm stated that it had “no other choice” but to seek compensation for the damages incurred.
“After years of legal proceedings, UEFA can no longer ignore binding court decisions,” said A22 CEO Bernd Reichart. “By abusing their monopoly and preventing new initiatives, they have caused substantial damages to numerous clubs, players, and other stakeholders across Europe.”
Despite the ruling, UEFA maintains that its current regulatory framework remains valid. In a statement sent to AFP, the organisation said: “This ruling does not validate the abandoned Super League project announced in 2021, nor does it undermine UEFA’s current authorisation rules, adopted in 2022 and updated in 2024, which remain fully in force. These rules ensure that any cross-border competitions are assessed on objective, transparent, non-discriminatory and proportionate criteria.”
Real Madrid, however, celebrated the outcome, calling it a significant legal victory that confirmed UEFA had “seriously infringed the European Union’s free competition rules” by abusing its power.
“The club will continue to work for the good of global football and fans, while claiming substantial damages from UEFA,” the Spanish giants said in an official statement.

PF PAID FOR ALL MINISTERS, I DON’T KNOW HOW FOUR OF US WERE LEFT OUT – SHAMENDA
PF organised resources to pay for all ministers [who remained in office], so I don’t know how the four of us were left out on the list, says former Labour Minister Fackson Shamenda.
Meanwhile, former home affairs deputy minister Colonel Panji Kaunda says he will remain silent until he consults his lawyers on the way forward.
On Tuesday, Vice-President Mutale Nalumango disclosed that four ministers who include Chishimba Kambwili, Kaunda, Shamenda and Dawson Kafwaya had not yet repaid money earned while illegally holding office following the 2016 dissolution of Parliament.
Commenting on the matter in an interview, Wednesday, Shamenda said the 2016 court judgement was unfair, arguing that ministers were lawfully appointed and should not have worked without compensation.
