Mnangagwa is a ‘coward’, says Clive Malunga

0

Veteran musician and war veteran Clive Malunga has taken a bold stance against President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s pursuit of a third presidential term, questioning the legitimacy of the 82-year-old Zanu-PF leader’s continued stay in power. In a video that has since gone viral, Malunga declared that Mnangagwa’s survival in office is not a product of his political shrewdness, but rather the will of God.

“VaMnangagwa 2030 havaisvike. Kana vakaita zvekutamba 2030 havaisvike. Sei ndirikudaro nekuti vaMnangagwa havasi Mwari,” said Malunga, founder of the Jenaguru Arts Centre, during his remarks. He expressed disbelief at the president’s claims of remaining in power past 2030, asserting that life and leadership are gifts bestowed by God, not by political maneuvering.

Malunga’s comments are a direct challenge to Mnangagwa’s ambition, with the musician questioning his ability to fulfill his promise of staying in power well beyond the next decade. He suggested that the president’s claims were not only unrealistic but also presumptuous, given that Mnangagwa “isn’t God.”

In a subsequent post on his social media platform X, Malunga doubled down on his criticism, unapologetically confronting the president and anyone who might take offense at his remarks. “Yes, I clearly said it, Mnangagwa won’t see 2030 or even 2026 because he isn’t God and he wasn’t appointed by God to be President of Zimbabwe,” Malunga wrote. “In fact, Mnangagwa is a useless coward, I’ve nothing to fear and here is me, Zimbabwe is boiling whilst he’s busy creating his dynasty, to hell.”

Malunga, who is best known for his hit song Nesango, expressed grave concern over the socio-economic challenges Zimbabwe faces under Mnangagwa’s leadership. He pointed to the nation’s worsening economic conditions, poverty, and corruption as evidence of a failing government.

The musician’s outspoken criticism of the president is not a new phenomenon. In 2022, Malunga condemned Mnangagwa’s administration, calling it corrupt and retrogressive. He took issue with the president’s frequent overseas trips, urging Mnangagwa to create favorable conditions in Zimbabwe akin to those he admires in other countries. Additionally, Malunga criticized the underutilization of Zimbabwe’s vast natural resources, particularly in relation to the missing US$15 billion in diamond revenue from Chiadzwa.

Malunga’s recent statements have sparked debate within Zimbabwe’s political circles, with some speculating that his attacks on Mnangagwa may be driven by internal factional disputes within the ruling Zanu-PF party. There are rumors that Malunga may have the backing of certain elements within the party, emboldening him to speak out against the president’s leadership.

Since the military coup that ousted former President Robert Mugabe in 2017, criticizing the sitting president has become a serious offense in Zimbabwe, with numerous critics facing arrest and prosecution. Despite this, Malunga’s fearless stance continues to resonate with many Zimbabweans frustrated by the current political and economic climate.

As discussions intensify around Mnangagwa’s bid for a third term, Malunga’s comments have once again highlighted the growing divisions within the political landscape and the increasing dissatisfaction among sections of the population with the ruling government’s direction.

Tony Yayo Claims Diddy Snitched On Jay-Z To Divert Attention From His Trafficking Case

Asubstantial number of conspiracy theories have been shared in the media since Sean “Diddy” Combs’s arrest, especially after both he and fellow entertainment mogul Jay Z were hit with lawsuits.

Whether from a sympathetic or critical perspective, there are also some alleged rumors and rumblings online that the relationship between both of them is not one of respect or arms-length camaraderie, but rather a more sinister one.

Moreover, during his most recent VladTV interview with DJ Vlad, former G-Unit member Tony Yayo claimed that “the streets” are saying that Sean Combs snitched on Jay Z to “take the heat off himself.” The rapper’s assessment of the situation compared their superstar business acumen, their historic link-ups at Roc Nation brunches and other events, and their career-long relationship.

For that reason, Tony Yayo is of the opinion there are definitely many links between Diddy and Jay-Z that could suggest more direct communication these days. However, it’s still just a speculative allegation, especially considering that the Bad Boy executive’s team has also denied any criminal connection to his Roc Nation counterpart.

Records nonetheless show that this is actually not the first time that Tony made these claims, as he and Uncle Murda made similar comments to TMZ at an airport.

“I think Diddy paid someone to say that s**t about Jay-Z,” Uncle Murda claimed. “To get the heat off of hisself. Diddy looking bad out here. […] Gotta watch Diddy. He going through a lot right now.” “It sound like a money grab with that one,” Tony Yayo suggested earlier in December.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z and Tony Buzbee, are in a war of words right now, as Hov continues to rally against his and Diddy’s accuser’s attorney.

Buzbee is also alleging that Jay is lying about his presumed innocence and his other legal claims about the lawyer. For now, all that spectators can do is compile the information they’ve seen and come to their conclusions while they wait in a court of law.

Zimbabwe moves towards modern prison reforms with introduction of parole system in 2025

In a progressive move aimed at aligning with global standards, Zimbabwe is set to introduce a parole system in 2025, signaling a shift in focus from punitive incarceration to rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders.

Faced with overcrowded prisons – housing approximately 21,000 inmates in facilities designed for 17,000 – the government is exploring new strategies to alleviate the burden on correctional institutions. The parole system is expected to play a crucial role in reducing congestion and improving conditions for those who remain incarcerated.

Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) Commissioner General Moses Chihobvu emphasized that the groundwork for this initiative is nearing completion. “The parole system is now at an advanced stage. What remains is benchmarking against countries with established programmes and conducting awareness campaigns to inform the public,” he said.

A Step Towards Rehabilitation and Reintegration

Legal experts and advocates for prison reform have lauded the introduction of parole, noting its transformative potential. Rather than solely punishing offenders, the system aims to reintegrate them into society under specific conditions.

Lawyer Rungano Mahuni explained, “Parole allows offenders to serve part of their sentence under supervised freedom, subject to certain conditions. This approach enables them to contribute positively to society while reducing the risk of criminal socialization within prison environments.”

Another legal practitioner, Kudzai Tichawangana, highlighted additional benefits. “Decongesting prisons not only improves living conditions for those who remain but also provides parolees the opportunity to support their families. The vetting process ensures only deserving inmates are granted parole, maintaining public safety while fostering social and economic contributions.”

How the Parole System Will Work

Parole entails the conditional early release of eligible inmates, who are then monitored by parole officers while living outside the prison. The approval process may involve the President, the State Parole Board, the Commissioner-General of Prisons, or the Minister responsible for Prisons and Correctional Services.

Key considerations for granting parole include an inmate’s conduct, responsibility, industriousness, and adherence to prison regulations. Once released, parolees enjoy a degree of freedom but must comply with set conditions to avoid re-incarceration.

Towards a Healthier Prison System

By easing overcrowding, the parole system is anticipated to create a more humane and sustainable correctional environment. It also reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing its prison system and recognizing the importance of rehabilitation in reducing recidivism.

As the country benchmarks against international best practices and engages stakeholders, the parole initiative underscores Zimbabwe’s resolve to embrace progressive reforms in its correctional framework.

Eminem Shows Love To Cardi B: ‘I Used To Be Like That’

Eminem is a fan of Cardi B and happily co-signed praise of the Bronx superstar during a new interview.

Em chopped it up with DJ Whoo Kid on Shade 45 for the Sirius XM channel’s 20th anniversary on Christmas Day (December 25). During the chat, Whoo Kid noted how Cardi used to pop up to the station often in her early days and would rave about how much she loves Em – and the feeling is mutual.

“I love Cardi too,” Em said. When Em’s manager Paul Rosenberg noted that Cardi “does not give a fuck,” Em chimed in, “Not one.”

Rosenberg then added, “She says exactly what’s on her mind and is not afraid of nobody,” to which Em said, “I used to be like that.”

Back in 2021, it was rumored that Cardi B was rejected by Eminem when she requested a feature for her sophomore album.

A post from an Em fan account alleged he’d turned the request down, citing his reasoning was because “she doesn’t care about the culture or her craft.”

But Bardi was quick to clear up the hearsay.

“BIG LIES,” she wrote in a post to X (then Twitter). “I get off the internet and ya makin shit up. I haven’t sent no songs to no artist yet. Love his work and much respect. This don’t even make sense.”

She continued: “Since they like to make up LIES about me cause their so obsessed just know this y’all laughing about this fake rumor but wait until y’all see these next collabs. Facts…I left for one day and they was like deum I miss the bitch let me make this lie up so I can have a reason to talk about her.”

While her sophomore album did not materialize that year or in the years following, Cardi has assured fans that the follow-up to her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy will arrive in 2025.

Beyoncé set to begin world tour in March amid husband Jay-Z’s legal battles

Beyoncé is expected to begin her stadium world tour in March 2025, even as her husband, Jay-Z, faces a rape lawsuit, according to reports.

The allegations involve Jay-Z, who is originally known as Shawn Carter, and Sean “Diddy” Combs, accused of assaulting a 13-year-old girl at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in New York back in 2000.

Earlier this month, the alleged victim’s attorney refiled charges on December 8, naming Jay-Z after initially accusing only Combs in October.

Despite the controversy, Beyoncé rather seems focused on her career.

A source close to the 43-year-old Grammy winner revealed Beyoncé plans to launch the tour in Los Angeles in March. “It’s been a very tough few months for Beyoncé, but she’s laser-focused on making her upcoming tour a success,” the insider told The Sun.

The source also stated that both a new album and tour announcement are sure to come. “The announcement was supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago but was pushed back. Despite Jay-Z’s resolute denials and claims that the allegations are false, people know that mud can stick.”

According to reports, the tour is expected to feature Beyoncé’s most extravagant performances to date, including a stop at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London, where she performed during her 2023 Renaissance World Tour.

Fans are speculating Beyoncé might release hints about the new album and tour during her scheduled performance at the NFL’s Christmas Day halftime show in her hometown of Houston, Texas.

In October, Jay-Z addressed the allegations in a statement, labeling them “idiotic.” He expressed concern over the impact on his family, particularly his three children: Blue Ivy, 12, and 7-year-old twins Rumi and Sir.

“My wife and I will have to sit our children down—one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims—and explain the cruelty and greed of people,” Jay-Z said on X.

He also extended support to true victims and condemned what he described as opportunistic legal maneuvers. “My heart and support go out to true victims in the world who have to watch how their life stories are dressed in costume for profitability by this ambulance chaser in a cheap suit,” he wrote.

Beyoncé’s last album went on to fuel a global tour that wrapped in October 2023 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, after she made 56 performances across North America, Europe, and beyond.

The music icon is however yet to officially comment on the release of a new album or date for the world tour, yet fans are eagerly waiting to see when it will unfold as they continuously rally their support behind her.

Final words spoken by pilot of doomed Azerbaijan Airlines plane before it crashed

0

The haunting final words spoken by the pilot of the doomed Azerbaijan Airlines plane before the plane went down have been revealed.

The plane crashed on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and evidence was piling up today that Russian air defences hit the Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane which crashed killing 38 people.

The Embraer jet was likely wrongly targeted as a suspected Ukrainian drone by a Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile shot from the Naursky district of Chechnya.

The apparent shrapnel damage to the aircraft – seen on the intact rear section of the doomed aircraft at Aktau in Kazakhstan – is consistent with such a strike. So are the accounts of surviving passengers who spoke of an explosion outside the plane.

At the time the plane had been seeking to land as scheduled in Grozny in Chechnya, a Russian region headed by close Vladimir Putin warlord, Ramzan Kadyrov, which has been under regular attacks from Ukraine in recent weeks. It is Kadyrov’s forces who are suspected of firing a Pantsir-S1 at the plane.

A partial text release of the alleged communications between the pilots and air traffic control indicates a catastrophic event that the crew wrongly assumed to be a collision with a flock of birds.

Struggling to control the plane with 67 people on board, the pilots help to go to several different airports in three countries, Russia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

At 8:12 a.m., the crew reported “both GPS lost” on the Embraer E190AR, and sought help with “vectoring” to head back to the take-off airport Baku, evidently after the sudden closure of Grozny airport.

At 8:16, one of the pilots said: “We have control failure, bird strike in the cockpit. Bird strike in the cockpit (inaudible)…”

Ground control replied: “AXY8243 I understand you, what kind of help do you need?”

The captain indicated he was seeking to return to his home airport Baku. But at 8:17, the pilot announced he was “heading to Mineralnye Vody” – an airport in southern Russia.

Ground control tells him to “perform left orbit” – but the flight deck replies: “I can’t execute, control is lost.” At 8:19, one of the pilots states: “I can’t maintain 150, we have high pressure in the cabin.”

Ground control reply: “AXY8243 understood you.”

One minute later, at 8:20, the flight’s scheduled arrival time, the pilot says: “Left 360, my plane is losing control.”

At 8:21, according to the leaked transcript, the crew decided instead to make for Makhachkala, a Russian airport on the Caspian Sea.

At 8:22, the crew reported: “Now the hydraulics have failed.”

Two minutes later, the pilot appears to deny he has declared a “distress” on board and tells ground control: “The board [plane] is in order.” But the air traffic controller then cannot properly hear the crew.

“You are very hard to hear…. tell me your altitude.” The plane later disappeared from radar for 37 minutes before reappearing as it sought to land in Aktau.

Russian Telegram channel VChK-OGPU – close to the security services – said air defence teams loyal to Chechen leader Kadyrov in Naursky district likely attacked the plane.

“The pilot mistook the strong blow to the plane for a collision with a flock of birds.” Said the channel.

“In reality, the damage indicates that, most likely, a missile fired by air defence systems exploded near the plane. According to the materials we have obtained, that very strike occurred approximately 18 kilometres [11 miles] north, northwest of the airport in Grozny, over the Naursky district at an altitude of 2,400 metres [7,875ft].”

The channel reported: “According to information from open sources, several military units are located in this area, including those with air defence systems…It is known that after the recent [Ukrainian] UAV attacks, several Pantsirs were also deployed in Chechnya.”

It was reported today that Kazakhstan has refused Russia permission to join the investigation examining the crash. Azerbaijan was also refused.

“This way we will have all the facts, the black box and the evidence,” said a member of the Kazakhstan investigation commission. Independent investigative journalists from the Volya Telegram channel said the drone left coincided in Grozny with the plane’s expected arrival.

“The Pantsirs began shooting down everything that was in the air at that moment. Grozny airport was closed for flights….

“But the passenger plane was already landing, which [air traffic control] prohibited at the last moment. The crew, according to the passengers, made two more attempts to land, after the last of which something exploded near the plane.

“The damaged Embraer was prohibited from landing in Grozny and tried to reach the airport in Aktau, Kazakhstan, but crashed nearby. The crew did everything possible not to crash the plane, but to land it.”

The outlet made clear that “Traces of shrapnel damage are visible on the fuselage and vertical stabiliser (keel)” of the jet. The closure of airports due to drone or missile threats is called a “carpet plan” in Russia.

“Everyone switched on the mode which can be described as ‘Work according to the instructions’. The instructions don’t say to turn on your brain’.”

The outlet said: “Russian propagandists are trying to spread the version that the plane collided with a Ukrainian drone.”

But this is implausible.

“A collision with an attack UAV would not have left shrapnel holes in a civilian airliner, but would have led to the destruction and fall of the aircraft immediately after the impact. Drones do not explode near the target, they explode upon impact with the target.”

A special aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has flown nine Russians, including one child, injured in yesterday’s plane crash to Moscow for treatment.

By this morning, war fanatic Kadyrov had not spoken about the horrific plane crash from which there were 29 survivors.

His nephew Khamzat Kadyrov, secretary of the Chechen Security Council, wrote on his Instagram that “everything was shot down” and published a video in which a drone is seen exploding.

Guardiola Happy With Man City Performance Despite Draw Against Everton

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola was delighted with his team’s performance despite the disappointing 1-1 draw against Everton on Boxing Day.

The defending champions continued their poor run of form with another abject performance at the Etihad to extend their winless run in the Premier League to four consecutive matches.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring for the hosts in the 14th minute before Iliman Ndiaye restored parity for Everton in the 36th minute.

Erling Haaland missed a second half penalty to further ignite the frustration for Man City.

They have now won only once in 13 matches in all competitions, the draw pushed them further below in the Premier League title race as they begin the battle to qualify for the Champions League.

Despite dropping points again, Guardiola was happy with the team’s performance against Everton.

He said: “We played really good but they are in the period right now where it happens. We create, we concede the first time they arrive but, yeah, keep going.

“Yeah, we have to try, confidence will come with the results because always it is in our mind. The performance against that team was really cool. Defensively, offensively. We shoot a lot in the 18-yard box but unfortunately we couldn’t get the result we wanted.”

Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji was disappointed that the team could not turn their dominance into three points.

He said: “This was a game today where we were able to score two, three, four goals, but it didn’t want to go in. I’m being honest with you, it can’t happen that we nearly lose the game at the last minute. We are trying to attack and then we lose the ball and it’s a six against two situations in front of our goal. Luckily I could block the shot. But we still need to believe until the last moment that we can win the match but it wasn’t possible today.”

Man City dominated possession against Everton, managing 67 per cent possession, they also had 24 shots on goal.

Guardiola also suggested that the club will bring in players in the January transfer window after struggling with injuries.

He said: “In the transfer window in winter it’s not easy. I think even the players know we have to add some players. But when those players come and they play in their position, they are unhappy.

“But the truth is, this season we have a lot [of injuries]. And this is a problem in the end. I think it’s not [good] to bring a player for that. You have to bring a player for the next three, four, five years. And sometimes it’s not easy to do it. But of course, I think we have to try it because [the injury situation has] sustained for a long time.

Everton’s Sean Dyche was pleased with his side’s performance after three successive draws against Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

He said: “I was worried about coming here today because it will change, at some point they will hurt someone, but I felt we handled it well – the underlying feeling that they will pull a result out of the bag at some point.

“Great energy from the players. We saved the penalty and Jordan [Pickford] and the analysis team deserve credit.

“Jordan made a lot of good decisions today.

“There’s no easy run in the Premier League and you have to be committed to the cause for all of them [upcoming games].

“I am pleased overall with the performance and getting a point.”

Manchester City will be back in action against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, while Everton will welcome Nottingham Forest to Goodison Park.

DR. HARRY KALABA SLAMS UPND FOR BETRAYING YOUTHS, CALLS FOR CHANGE IN 2026

*DR. HARRY KALABA SLAMS UPND FOR BETRAYING YOUTHS, CALLS FOR CHANGE IN 2026*

“Immediately after UPND took over governance of the nation, it abandoned the youths that made it win the 2021 general elections and now wants the same youths to suffer or pay for the many years ‘he’ was rejected,” said Dr. Harry Kalaba, Citizens First leader and UKA Elections Chairperson.

Dr. Kalaba expressed disappointment in the UPND government, accusing it of exploiting young people as tools to ascend to power only to discard them once the mission was accomplished.

“This kind of leadership, that uses its people as ladders and later neglects them, is no leadership and thus needs to be stopped via the next general elections,” he added, calling for collective action to hold the government accountable for its failure to deliver on promises made to the youth.

The former Foreign Affairs Minister urged Zambians to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise, stressing its importance in determining the nation’s future. “Registering to vote is the only way to kick out UPND in the 2026 general elections. Do not sit back; your voice matters,” he emphasized.

Dr. Kalaba further highlighted the urgency for inclusive leadership that prioritizes youth empowerment through tangible solutions to unemployment, quality education, and skills development.

“This is a wake-up call for Zambians to demand accountability and not fall for empty rhetoric again. Our youths deserve meaningful empowerment, not mere slogans,” he said.

He concluded by encouraging opposition parties and civil society organizations to work together in advocating for a shared vision that restores hope for the young and drives the country toward sustainable development.

“Together, we can redefine leadership and ensure that Zambia moves toward a future where no citizen feels used or abandoned,” Dr. Kalaba stated.

Lessons from Dora Moono Nyambe-the Case of Segmented Audiences

The sudden demise of a young philanthropist, teacher, and role model, Dora Moono Nyambe shocked the nation but also revealed certain issues, that provide food for thoughts.

Imagine that she had a following of 4.1 million people on the popular social-media platform-TikTok.

To put this into perspective, the Facebook accounts with the largest following in Zambia are Mwebantu Media, Hakainde Hichilema, and Edgar Lungu (2.8m, 1.8m and 1.4m respectively) yet her account dwarfs those pages.

Yet when paying tribute to her and her work, many Facebook influencers expressed surprise and ignorance about her and the extent of her passion and charity work.

Her passion and determination led her to establish “Footprints for Hope”, a school for underprivileged children.

She also used the power of social media and raised over $450,000 to build her school for the underprivileged girls and those she was rescuing from child marriages in Mkushi District.

Her work was so impactful, yet she escaped the attention of traditional donors and of those policy makers who provide state honors to deserving citizens.

For us in the communications space, we understand this unique phenomenon that arises as a result of a segmented audience.

● Facebook – Many Zambians are on Facebook. It has become the primary source of information and entertainment for many.

Ordinary people also access Facebook Lite as it is provided free by mobile networks.
Traditional media is also increasingly using Facebook pages to disseminate their work.

● X (Twiitter) is a favorite for the educated, professional, academics, and analytical audience.

●Instagram- popular for those promoting pictures (beautiful pics enhanced with filters)  or video based stories.

●TikTok is a new short video-based platform that has taken social-media by storm with its musical video and dance challenges. It also carries other serious content.

It is most popular with the younger generation, particularly those between the ages of 18 and 24, making Gen Z the largest user group on the platform.
● WhatsApp-WhatsApp is an instant messaging and voice-over-IP service and good for cheap calls and has become another primary source of information for Zambians. The features of groups, audio and video transfer has made an addictive platform influencing mass consumption and action.

● Not On Social-media- an  ardent group exists that consumes and relies on traditional forms of sourcing for news and information using radio, newspapers, and television.

● Cross pollinators-those that wonder across all platforms and networks.

Audience segmentation can be based on a variety of factors, including age, gender, location, ethnicity, income, job title, industry, and level of education.

Other factors include personality types, values, attitudes, beliefs, key challenges, fears, hopes, dreams, personal interests, and hobbies.

To impact a mass audience effectively, one needs to influence across all traditional  and new media platforms, tailor one’s content to each platform, cross-promote your other channels within posts.

Clearly there are many heroes and heroines such as Dora Moono  Nyambe that escape the attention and recognition of you and me.

Young Thug Admits To Talking To 10 Women Per Day In Jail

This might cause a bit of a stir.
Young Thug has been victimized by a jail call leak conducted by Law & Crime. In fact, many are upset with the crime news outlet, stating that they should not have made these calls public. However, the damage has been done, and some viral clips are now circulating the internet. Of course, in one of these calls, Thugger is talking to Leena Sayed, who is now with Devin Haney. Overall, this caused a massive stir on social media, and fans could not believe what they were witnessing.

In another clip, Thugger was talking to his girlfriend Mariah The Scientist, who held him down the entire time he was locked up. This particular moment showcased Mariah filling in Thug to what happened between Diddy and Cassie.

Now, however, a new clip is making the rounds and we are not too sure Mariah The Scientist is going to appreciate what is being said here. As you will hear, Thugger claims to be talking to 10 women per day in prison so that he can pass the time.

https://twitter.com/keep6ixsolid/status/1871585446763123155?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1871585446763123155%7Ctwgr%5E574bd7bb8298addbb2942830ac21ff59f51b61cf%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-26295529542714012276.ampproject.net%2F2410292120000%2Fframe.html

Moreover, he notes that of all of the women he is talking to, Mariah is the one that he likes the most. Although he then follows this up by saying that she loves him “too much.” He does claim to love her too, but the words “too much” may cut a little bit deep here. Either way, there is no doubt that his current girlfriend probably feels away about all of this coming to light. Of course, Thugger probably never thought such videos would ever be made public, which is another conversation entirely.

Hopefully, the two are able to work out any issues that may arise from what was said in these clips. Although the internet certainly has a lot of thoughts, and this could become a Travis Hunter-Leanna Lenee situation, very fast. Only time will tell what the fallout is from all of this mess.

Sweet friendship between female besties turn sour after one marries the uncle

Sweet friendship between female besties turn sour after one marries the uncle

A SWEET friendship for two Lusaka besties has turned sour after one them got married to the friends uncle.

It was heard in court that Martha Mutuswa, a 31, year old Muslim of Lusaka’s Mandevu compound had been friends with Emily NC’ube, an Adventist believer aged 38, also of the same compound  for a long time, regardless of their religious paths, sharing each other’s secrets and a strong bond.

But with time, their friendship started falling apart.

This was after Emily married Martha’s uncle and automatically became her best friend’s aunt.

Unfortunately, the family relations divided the two friends as Emily began to suspect Martha of having an affair with her husband.

This led to the suing of Emily in the Matero local court by her former bestie cum niece, Martha, for the offence of defamation of character, alleging that she called her a prostitute.

It reported that Emily was not the only one that sparked a light of hatred as Martha also suddenly grew out of love for her former friend and began to say that she was not good enough for her uncle.

Martha’s sentiments gained her entire family’s support as her mother and sisters supported her and went against Emily.

One day, through a phone call, Emily is said to have insulted Martha, her sister and entire family calling them a family of prostitutes who sleep with each other in the family.

“Just continue sleeping with each other. That is why you sleep with your own uncle,” Emily was cited in the recording as she was sure that her former bestie was sleeping with her husband.

While Emily was alone at court, Martha had her mother, who is the elder sister to the man of the match, and also, her younger sister. All for the motion against Emily.

But despite the firm allegations, Martha denied ever seeing her uncle in his Adam suit, contrary to what Emily perceived.

After all was said, Magistrate Lewis Mumba adjourned the matter to January 3 next year and ordered that Emily’s husband appeared before court to testify if at all he was enjoying the two ladies.

“It’s like you two have a long history together and know each other’s secrets. But the court will not pass a judgment in this matter today but will request that Emily’s husband appears in court too so that the court can hear what he has to say on this matter,” reiterated Magistrate Mumba…https://kalemba.news/local/2024/12/26/sweet-friendship-between-female-besties-turn-sour-after-one-marries-the-uncle/

Michigan Inmate Plans To Bring Jennifer Lopez Into His Latest $400 Million Legal Battle Against Diddy

It’s hard to keep track of every Diddy accuser, but it’s going to be difficult to not remember Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith’s name. That’s because he’s hitting the mogul with yet another lawsuit, with this one holding an even larger monetary amount.

According to reports from In Touch Weekly and AllHipHop, The Michigan inmate, who’s serving a decades-long sentence for a rape case of his own, is seeking $400 million in damages. Cardello-Smith claims that Diddy invited him to a party at a Detroit Holiday Inn back in 1997. During his time there, he alleges that the Bad Boy Records founder handed him a drink with “a little something” added into it.

Later, Cardello-Smith says it knocked him out and upon awakening, he alleges that Diddy was having sex with a woman next to him. Moreover, the prison mate alleges that the rapper told him, “I did this to you too!” Since filing the lawsuit, Diddy’s legal team has labeled it “baseless,” and that Cardello-Smith mentioned two different locations for this alleged assault. They are also arguing that the claims were filed past the statute of limitations. Finally, Diddy’s lawyer has essentially dismissed the man’s lawsuit.

“Since [Derrick] first filed, his claims, (which were facially implausible to begin with), have ballooned into a massive conspiracy against him, involving multiple high-ranking Wayne County officials. Now realizing that his untimely claims are subject to dismissal, [Derrick] presents the court with a fresh helping of conspiratorial nonsense.” Diddy’s lawyer further added that he’s just now doing this because he had to “invent” facts.

But Cardello-Smith is not backing down. In fact, he’s going to call on a certain witness to help testify the facts he’s presenting. That person is nonother than Jennifer Lopez. He feels due to her dating the embattled figure from 1999-2001, she has information that could help sway the court. As we mentioned earlier, this is not Cardello-Smith’s first go-around with Diddy. Earlier this year, he was seeking $100 million. However, he wound up losing that battle due to the entertainer’s team successfully arguing that he was tampering with key court documents to obtain the money initially.

A PLACE which was once filled with joy by the children who found hope and love has now been filled with sorrow as the children’s smiles faded away to pave the way for tears in mourning their “mother.”

Dora Moono Nyambe has transitioned to life beyond, leaving behind her children and the nation in mourning.

She left her parent’s home in Chibombo to dedicate her life to helping vulnerable children and has left a mark that will forever remain in people’s hearts with her impactful works.

Despite her works not widely publicised before her demise, Dora’s death has been widely posted with some netizens calling on people to give flowers to people while they are still alive.

The 32 year old was not just a teacher who left her lesson on the board but was a practical individual with compassion towards helping vulnerable children, especially in educating them.

Despite being unmarried and not having any biological children, Dora adopted 13 vulnerable children, making herself their mother.

And in just a period of four years, Dora Managed to save the lives of over 500 children whom she helped by offering free education, housing, food and clothing through her school, ‘Footprints Hope’ located in Mkushi district whose motto is, ‘Kindness is Free.’

Among the children she saved were girls who were in child marriages, maids, orphans and vulnerable boys, all who could not afford the ability to attain education despite the government’s policy of free education because they resided in Luana, an area that did not have any school nearby.

The Philanthropist and teacher by profession grew her passion from Tik Tok where she earned her self global recognition with over 4 million followers and over 19 million Likes, also earning her assistance to further push her dream of creating a safe heaven for the children.

Unfortunately, her last day of running her race found her yesterday, a day that her children were in a jolly mood due to the festivities.

In an interview with Kalemba, a teacher at her school, Mubanga Gravies shared that Dora was a kind person, “the best boss that the school staff could ever have.”

Mubanga said the night before she died, Dora, together with her team and children had been sharing a light moment, laughing and sharing stories, until 23:00 hours when she retired to bed.

“At that point, she never complained of being sick or feeling ill. She only woke up around 02:00 hours in the morning of yesterday and drove herself to the nearby clinic which is about 15 kilometers away from the school, after having  passed out on different occasions.”

“We were only informed by the clinic that she had died around 04:00 hours, stating that she had low Blood Pressure,” Mulenga said.

And just like that,  Christmas was ruined for the entire school.

Mubanga added that Dora was far beyond what people knew about her as she helped a lot of families and people but never posted on social media because her selfless personality made her help others without showing off.

“When we received the news of her death, the mood of the school changed. The children were so broken and it is very devastating.  Everyone is just sad.” He said

“She was very selfless, the best boss I ever had. She never cared about herself but about the well being of the children especially the girl child, and also the boy child. She dedicated her whole life to work for them.”

Now, the school which was once a happy place is a mourning ground for its founder. The children who smiled at her face are now crying at the call of  her name.

Burial is expected to be on Saturday at the same school.

“Our aim right now is to ensure that we keep her legacy and vision going by ensuring that her school remains running and that these children continue receiving the free education, shelter and food they have been receiving because that is what Dora lived for and that is the only thing we can do for her in death,” added Mubanga…https://kalemba.news/local/2024/12/26/philanthropist-to-be-buried-on-saturday-at-her-school/

Leena Sayed Denies Being Young Thug’s “Twin” After Leaked Jail Call

Leena Sayed and Young Thug became trending topics on Monday, December 23. The two were linked through a leaked jail call dating back to 2022. Sayed became visibly emotional when Thugger told her to move on and find someone else.

The rapper’s feelings on the matter have sparked widespread debate. Some have theorized that he was also emotional, while others claimed he was trying to stifle laughter over the IG model’s tears. Either way, Leena Sayed and Young Thug have tried to distance themselves from their 2022 call.

Leena Sayed and the rapper issued statements via social media on Monday. The former claimed that had yet to meet her current boyfriend, professional boxer Devin Haney, when the phone call took place. “That video was before I met my bd,” Sayed wrote on her Instagram Stories. “I would never talk to Thug or any other man.” The speculation as to whether Sayed and Thug were romantically involved, however, gained traction among fans. Many theorized that the two were carrying out an affair while Young Thug was with Mariah the Scientist. Perhaps spurred by these theories, Leena Sayed issued another statement via Insta on Tuesday.

Sayed claimed that she was never Young Thug’s “twin” in a romantic sense. She also restated her love for Devin Haney, with whom she shares a child. “Lol I’m nobody’s twin,” the Instagram model asserted. “I’m 100% down for my baby daddy with whatever he do and whoever else he f*ck with.” Leena Sayed went on to suggest that those who have been criticizing her are merely jealous of her bond with the pro boxer. “That’s why y’all mad,” she posited. Leena Sayed’s decision to refute the “twin” association does feel like a direct response to Young Thug’s social media comments.

The rapper claimed that he was never romantically involved with Leena Sayed. He also made some crass remarks about being able to have her anytime he pleased. Even today. “I can have that lil sht right now if I wanted it,” Thugger tweeted. “But she been pushing the p harder then ngas lol that’s the twin… I got who I want.” The rapper also claimed that he did not have feelings for Sayed in any capacity, romantic or otherwise. “I don’t know y she spoke on loving other people or anything else cause ain giving no fck bout no hes or n*gas,” he concluded.

Let me be clear: I harbor no ill will toward the UPND govt – Frank Mutubila

Frank Mutubila writes:

Let me be clear: I harbor no ill will toward the UPND government or any other political entity. Under this administration, I have enjoyed immense privileges, for which I am deeply grateful. I hold no grudges, nor have I been swayed or influenced by any opposition force. My allegiance has always been, and will always remain, to the truth and to the Zambian people.

I have lived long enough to witness the arc of our nation’s history. I have seen Zambia’s journey from the dark days of colonialism, a time our forefathers endured untold hardships, to the dawn of independence, when the light of freedom illuminated our land. I have witnessed our country rise, guided by the zeal and determination of our founding fathers, who fought tirelessly to ensure that sovereignty was not merely a word but the essence of our nation’s identity. They dreamed of a Zambia that would stand tall, free from oppression and foreign exploitation.

Yet, with the passing of time, I have also witnessed the darker shadows of power. I have seen noble ideals falter, and how politics once a sacred call to serve humanity, has, for some, become a game of personal ambition, a tool for division, and a betrayal of the very principles upon which our independence was built. It is a reality that pains me deeply.

As a member of the Fourth Estate, one of the longest serving scribes in this noble calling, I have devoted my life to being a watchman for the people, a questioner of power, and a custodian of truth. The media is not a commodity to be bought or sold. We are not pawns in political chess games. We are the voice of the voiceless, the defenders of integrity, and the conscience of the nation. This is a sacred duty I have carried with humility and resolve, and it is one I will honor for as long as I live.

I have not just been a servant of my country, I have been a soldier in the fight for justice and liberation beyond Zambia’s borders. Dr. Kenneth Kaunda entrusted me with the critical task of taking the ANC’s cause to the United States alongside Comrade Oliver Tambo and Thabo Mbeki. For one month, we carried the liberation message to every corner of America. The memories are vivid, presenting at a church service in Harlem, where the late Tambo called me to the podium to greet the congregation. In appreciation the two asked me if I could relocate to SA after independence. An offer I politely declined for the love of Zambia. The same decision applied when I studied in London and worked as a freelance for BBC and RADIO DEUTCHEWELLER of GERMANY. To top up my love for my job and country I left my wife and son in England. There are still there today.

In Luanda, Angola, I found myself covering a rally by MPLA Secretary General Lucio Lara when we came under gunfire. I was fortunate to be saved by MPLA security, but I knew these risks were part of my committed duty to justice and liberation. Early this year, at the Kenneth Kaunda Lecture Ceremony held at Mulungushi, President Thabo Mbeki publicly thanked me for my humble role in the liberation of South Africa. That moment, like many others, was a testament to the trust Dr. Kaunda placed in the media and to my service and honor on behalf of my country.

My resignation must not be misconstrued or misunderstood. It is not borne out of personal grievance or political bias. It is a decision rooted in my commitment to the truth and my belief that our actions must be guided by love for our nation and a commitment to its future. Every Zambian deserves dignity, equality, and opportunity, and it is for these principles that I stand.

In all my years of service, I have not been driven by financial rewards. My hardworking colleagues in the media will attest to the fact that this profession offers little financial gain. It is a thankless but noble calling. To me, it has always been about something far greater. My greatest honor has been to serve the governments and, most importantly, the people of this beautiful country my lifelong home. I firmly believe I was planted here by God to carry out His assignment of making a positive change. That is my harvest, and it always will be.

Let it be known, I do not fight political battles, I fight for justice, accountability, and a better Zambia. My generation has seen the struggles, the triumphs, and the betrayals. If there is one enduring lesson we have learned, it is this: we must pass on the torch of wisdom to the younger generation. It is their time to challenge the status quo and to become the architects of a future defined not by division but by unity, not by greed but by shared prosperity.

This is my calling, a calling to truth, integrity, and responsibility. To those who despise the truth or misuse their power, know this, the Fourth Estate will not falter. We will remain vigilant, steadfast, and unyielding in our mission to serve the people of Zambia. For our people deserve nothing less than the unvarnished truth and a future worthy of their sacrifices.

HICHILEMA MUST APOLOGIZE OR NO RAINS FOR 5 YEARS – Enock Tonga

HICHILEMA MUST APOLOGIZE OR NO RAINS FOR 5 YEARS – Enock Tonga

The opposition 3rd Generation Party has attributed the erratic rainfall in the country the last two years to President Hakainde Hichilema conduct.

However most countries in Southern Africa have experienced the same problem due to climate change.

But the 3rd Generation Party thinks otherwise saying it is because of Hichilema and that he must seek for forgiveness.

Enock Roosevelt Tonga who is the President of 3rd Generation Party says Zambia could go without recording enough rainfall for the whole five years of Hichilema’s reign.

“looking at the way rains have behaved since Hichilema was declared winner in 2021 by the Elections Management body of Zambia called the ECZ, there is a very high possibility for Zambia to have or experience a stretch of 5 solid years of Hichilema’s reign without proper rainfall,” Toanga said.

The 3rd Generation Party has called on President Hichilema to apologize before the people perish of hunger.

“Before it is too late and the people of Zambia perish of hunger, it is high time or there is urgent need for Hichilema to make amends; seek for reconciliation with God of Zambia – the creator; and ask for forgiveness for the following sins Hichilema could have committed up the ladder:

1. Lying (cheating) before God’s people in promises up his way

2. Flying of balloons at his inauguration ceremony as opposed to a white live Dove.

3. Putting on gloves whenever holding the Bible.

Anyway, symbol ni Yatatu & ERT of 3RD-LM,” Tonga said on Christmas day.

But the Hichilema administration on 19th December 2024 last week held prayers for rains in Lusaka.

Over six million of the 20 million people are threatened with hunger due to the drought, Hichilema told world when he declared the situation as a national disaster. He called for help from international community.

President Hichilema said the drought Zambia was experiencing is the worst in history. He has however committed that his administration will do everything to ensure no life is lost as a result of hunger.

Last week he announced that his cabinet had approved irrigation system in areas where they are water bodies to mitigate the effects of the drought on maize production. Maize grain is the country’s staple food.

Zambian Eye Correspondent in Lusaka says lack of rains has had a devastating effect on the economy as Zambia’s energy supply is water dependent. The country is going through the worst power rationing supply in history with some areas going for almost 17 hours without power supply.

Time for Change: Why President Hakainde Hichilema Must Go – Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Time for Change: Why President Hakainde Hichilema Must Go

By Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Zambians hoped for a better tomorrow when they elected President Hakainde Hichilema in 2021. Promising economic revival, job creation, and a fight against corruption on all fronts, he came into office riding on a wave of hope and expectation. Yet, nearly three years into his presidency, the reality on the ground tells a different story. From economic hardships to political repression, life for the average Zambian has become unbearably difficult.

It is clear now: President Hakainde Hichilema has failed and must go.

The Economic Crisis: From Bad to Worse

Under President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration, the economy has not improved as promised—in fact, it has worsened for many Zambians.

Cost of Living: Prices for basic goods such as mealie meal, cooking oil, and fuel have skyrocketed. Families are struggling to put food on the table, and the once-dreamed-of economic relief has become a nightmare.

Unemployment: Youth unemployment remains alarmingly high. The jobs President Hakainde Hichilema promised have not materialized, and opportunities are dwindling.

Energy Crisis: The worsening electricity shortages and power outages have devastated businesses. Industries and small businesses are grappling with reduced productivity and higher operating costs due to inconsistent energy supply. The government’s failure to provide sustainable solutions to the energy crisis has left both businesses and households in despair.

Corruption: The fight against corruption—a cornerstone of President Hakainde Hichilema’s campaign—has proven selective, targeting political opponents while allegations of misconduct within his own government are ignored.

The economic suffering is real. Families are slipping deeper into poverty, and businesses are closing down. Promises of a “New Dawn” now feel like a cruel joke.

The Energy Crisis: A Catalyst for Economic Collapse

The energy crisis under President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration has exacerbated Zambia’s economic woes.

Business Shutdowns: Frequent power outages have forced many businesses, especially small and medium-sized businesses, to either scale down operations or close entirely. Entrepreneurs, already battling high operational costs, are unable to sustain productivity without reliable energy supply.

Job Losses: The energy crisis has directly contributed to increased unemployment. Companies that rely heavily on electricity—such as manufacturing, mining, and agriculture—are laying off workers or halting operations altogether.

Rising Costs: Businesses forced to invest in alternative energy sources, such as diesel generators, are passing the additional costs onto consumers. This has driven up the prices of goods and services, compounding the cost-of-living crisis.

Impact on Investment: The unreliable power supply has deterred both local and foreign investors, who view Zambia’s energy instability as a barrier to sustainable growth.

This energy crisis is not just a challenge; it is a crisis of leadership and accountability. President Hakainde Hichilema’s failure to prioritize and address this issue has pushed Zambia’s economy closer to collapse.

Political Repression: Silencing Dissent

President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration has also overseen a shrinking of Zambia’s democratic space.

Freedom of Speech: Activists, opposition leaders, and journalists are being silenced through arrests, intimidation, and censorship. Criticism of the government is met with hostility, creating a climate of fear.

Abuse of State Power: The police and judiciary have been weaponized to stifle dissent. Peaceful protests are banned or violently dispersed, and opposition members are harassed.

Consolidation of Power: President Hakainde Hichilema’s government has centralized authority, bypassing checks and balances, and eroding accountability.

Instead of being the champion of democracy he promised to be, President Hakainde Hichilema is presiding over a regime that resembles autocratic leadership.

Broken Promises: A Betrayal of Trust

When Zambians elected President Hakainde Hichilema, they were desperate for change. His promises of economic recovery and good governance resonated with millions. Yet, those promises have been shattered:

Good Governance: Corruption persists, transparency is lacking, and governance structures are being manipulated for political gain.

Economic Recovery: The government’s policies have failed to lift the economy, leaving citizens more desperate than ever.

Unity and Prosperity: Instead of fostering national unity, divisions are deepening, and prosperity remains out of reach for the majority.

President Hakainde Hichilema has betrayed the trust of the people who elected him. His leadership has been marked by unfulfilled promises, growing hardships, and a lack of vision for Zambia’s future.

The People Have Had Enough

Zambians are tired. They are tired of struggling to afford basic necessities, tired of living in fear, and tired of waiting for change that never comes. The “New Dawn” has become a dark chapter in Zambia’s history, and the people are ready to turn the page.

Rising Discontent: Across the nation, there is growing anger and frustration with President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership. From urban centers to rural villages, the sentiment is clear: enough is enough.

Calls for Accountability: Citizens are demanding accountability from a government that has failed to deliver on its promises.

The suffering of the Zambian people cannot be ignored. It is time for new leadership—leadership that puts the needs of the people first, that prioritizes economic recovery and justice, and that respects the democratic principles upon which Zambia was founded.

A Call for Action

President Hakainde Hichilema has had his chance. He was given the mandate to lead Zambia out of its challenges and into prosperity. Instead, his administration has deepened the suffering of the people.

The majority of suffering Zambians cannot afford to give him a second chance. The longer President Hakainde Hichilema stays in power, the more damage will be done to the nation’s economy, democracy, and social fabric.

2026 must mark a turning point. It is time for him to go and make way for new leadership that can address Zambia’s challenges with honesty, competence, and compassion.

The people of Zambia deserve better. They deserve a government that listens to their struggles, acts in their best interest, and delivers on its promises. President Hakainde Hichilema must go—for the sake of the nation, its future, and its people.

Let this be a turning point. Let Zambians come together to demand the change they need and deserve. The time to act is now.

FAILING AN EXAM IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD, NEVERS TELLS PUPILS

AMID the joy of exam celebrations, some families are facing disappointment and heartache, particularly in the wake of the tragic story of a 16 year old girl from Kabwe who took her life after failing her grade seven examination.

On Monday, government announced the results of grade sevens and nines who sat for exams this year.

This brought joy in some households with some parents flaunting the results of their children who excelled while parents of the ones who didn’t make it, stayed quiet.

A day after the announcement, a 16 year old grade seven pupil from Kabwe’ Mutwe Wansofu was reported to have taken her life after failing her exams.

Following the incident, MMD leader Nevers Mumba has since extended a compassionate hand to parents and pupils who didn’t perform as hoped stating that failing an exam is not the end of the world.

In a Facebook post, Dr Mumba urged parents to console their children with love and understanding as he noted that exam results do not define a child’s worth or potential.

“Just because your child didn’t get above 800 at Grade 7 or above 500 at Grade 9, doesn’t mean it is the end of the world,” he wrote.

“I have a message for those Grade 7 and Grade 9 students who did not quite get the results they had hoped for, I want to tell you that this is not the end of the world. Your worth and potential go far beyond a single set of exam results.”

The former vice president noted that every great success story started with setbacks and challenges. Therefore, the failures should not be discouraged.

He further encouraged them to explore opportunities in the recently reintroduced National Voluntary Programme and the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) skills training programmes.

Dr Mumba dismissed claims that these Programmes were politically motivated, calling them valuable tools for character development and empowerment.

“President Hakainde Hichilema and his government have introduced initiatives such as, CDF sponsored skills training programmes, empowering you with practical skills to thrive in various industries. The newly announced Voluntary National Service under the Zambia National Service (ZNS), offering opportunities for hands on experience, mentorship and personal growth,” he advised.

“I can tell you that in our time, we all went through National Service and it was more about skills and character development and never politics. These programmes are designed to help you develop valuable skills, build confidence, and unlock your potential. Remember, your dreams are valid and your future is bright.”

He also congratulated the high achievers and said their success was inspiring to note.

KALUSHA IS ELIGIBLE FOR FAZ PRESIDENT: Only Those Who Hate Democracy & Have An Agenda Against Zambian Football Want Him Disqualified

By Augustine Mukoka

KALUSHA IS ELIGIBLE FOR FAZ PRESIDENT: Only Those Who Hate Democracy & Have An Agenda Against Zambian Football Want Him Disqualified

As the FAZ elections approach and candidates line-up, there’s a calculated attempt to disqualify formidable opponents in the court of public opinion and later by abusing the so called integrity test.

Among those being targeted for disqualification is 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winning FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya. The incumbent at FAZ has told his associates that Kalusha will not pass the integrity test.

Unfortunately, even those recruited to parrot this agenda are referring their readers or supporters to the FAZ Constitution & the electoral code but they are not citing specific provisions that stop Kalusha from contesting the election.

Let me help a number of those going about with their Not Eligible song understand why Kalusha is eligible unless someone is just scared of the dictates of democracy.

It’s given that Kalusha suffered an infraction that attracted FIFA’s wrath and was later reprieved. He was allowed to continue playing a role in football and his CAF position was restored. So, the question about his encounter on the wrong side of FIFA is a bygone. It can never be used against him in his future aspirations to seek football office.

This position is backed by the FAZ Constitution.  The FAZ Constitution is explicit. An individual can be jailed for three years, e.g for stealing goats or any other infraction, but should such an individual later seek FAZ office, they’re welcome to do so provided they meet other qualification criteria.

Therefore, the issue that Kalusha had with FIFA is a closed matter. In fact, he served less than three years and was expressly written to by the same FIFA and told to be free to participate in any role in the game. So why should one plan to use a closed chapter against Kalusha? Fear of competition at the ballot is a symptom of dictatorship.

Secondly, there’s an argument that Kalusha has not served football actively at executive level for three years in the 10 years preceding the election. Unless you’re a bogus financial expert, you should know that the 10 years preceding next year’s election dates back to 2015.

Kalusha was FAZ president up-to March 2016 when Andrew Kamanga took over. It means Kalusha was in active football administration for one season – 2015 to 2016.

The last two seasons, Kalusha has been a registered board member of Inter Lusaka FC. That, therefore, should solve the three year active administration requirement in the last 10 years. Critics would argue, Kalusha’s year between 2015 and 2016 was not with a FAZ member. Well, that argument applies to Kamanga as well in the last nine years – he has been head of the FAZ ExCo which prevents him from being an official at a club. That’s why he has not served any member of FAZ but by virtue of being in the executive, the operation of the constitution considers him to have been active in administration just like Kalusha was from 2008 to 2016. Any active administration before 2015 does not count in meeting the 3 year requirement ahead of the 2025 FAZ election. Nonetheless, two seasons with Inter Lusaka FC & one season as FAZ president cures that requirement for Kalusha.

Thirdly, there are those who claim Kalusha is not resident in Zambia. The fact that the FAZ Constitution status you ‘Must Ordinarily’ be resident in Zambia does not make it mandatory to live in the country. All that the FAZ Constitution has done is to request a candidate to maintain a residence in the country. And Kalusha has a residence in Zambia – his country of birth which he has served diligently and with honours.

For the avoidance of any, according to the FAZ Electoral Code,

The candidate or holder shall be deemed not to have passed the integrity check, if he:

a) has been subject to criminal convictions or disciplinary sanctions by a state court, in particular if the offence in question was a substantive issue and not a minor infraction or procedural misconduct;

b) has been found guilty and/or sentenced by the FIFA Ethics Committee or any other sporting body with a sanction that would seriously put into question the discharge of the office concerned.

The FIFA sanctions on Kalusha was lifted and case concluded. It’s now a bygone much like one being convicted for three years and is still able to contest FAZ elections. Why should the rules be different for Kalusha?

Evidently, Kalusha is eligible to contest the FAZ presidency unless someone is scared of competition on the ballot.

KOMBONI RADIO PROPRIETOR SURVIVES FATAL ROAD ACCIDENT

…..as she is allegedly att@cked by some Army Officials, reports the matter to Mtendere Police

Thursday December 26, 2024

On Sunday 22nd December 2024, between 21:15 and 21:30 hours, the proprietor of Komboni Radio Lesa Kasoma was involved in a fatal road accident where she miraculously survived with a badly injured right arm.

The incident happened along Kudu Road in Kabulonga residential area, shockingly a few blocks from her house.

Sadly, before Kasoma – who was driving a Toyota Hilux registration number BAK 2485, was rushed to the hospital, she was allegedly brut@lly ass@ulted receiving heavy puñchés in the head at the accident scene by unknown people who addressed themselves as ‘Army Generals’ driving a vehicle registration number AB 10** causing her to sustain possible head injuries.

Ms Kasoma says this incidence was since reported to Mtendere Police.

“In the recent past, my life and my business have been under attack. And my only hope and prayer now is for God’s Divine intervention. This battle is too big for me to fight alone. I just survived a fatal road accident where my vehicle was hit behind on the side and overturned, just as I was about to arrive home. It is a miracle that I am alive today. Shockingly I was immediately after the accident assaulted by two men who addressed themselves as ‘Army Generals’, punching me in the head shouting, ‘tizamusiliza uyu ise’,” Kasoma told Journalists in Lusaka.

“It is very unfortunate that today, Zambians immediately rush to an accident scene to take videos instead of trying to serve the victims. It took about 5 minutes for people to help me out of the vehicle as they opted to first take videos of me trapped in the vehicle helpless. I was conscious and could hear ladies screaming, please help this person, she is still alive’. And had it not been for those good Samaritans, I would not be here today.I was helped out of the vehicle and as I was walking being taken to safety, I noticed people still following to take more videos. At that moment I grabbed a phone with my left hand from the person who walked next to me taking videos and I threw it to the ground saying, you are people who let victims of an accident scene die instead of helping them’.”

She recalls that not so long ago, the IBA Director General – may his soul rest in peace, was brutally murdered in unclear circumstances by suspected police officers.

“Whatever is after my life and my business will not succeed because the God I serve, is a Living God and for me to be alive today is a living testimony.My deepest gratitude and thanks  go to Rwanda Airlines who have, during these trying moments, sponsored my ticket to embark on a Holy Pilgrim to;
Rwanda in Kibeho where the Virgin Mary appeared to young girls and in the visions, the virgin Mary asked for penance and fasting for the conversion of sinners and frequent recitation of the Rosary and Uganda in Namugongo, where the Uganda Martyrs – a group of 23 Anglican and 22 catholic coverts to Christianity in Uganda were executed teaching us to stand for our faith and self sacrifice for the good of others,” she stated.

“My wish to all my fellow Catholics, all Catholic Priests across the country and the World, is to pray for me for Divine Intervention and I promise to carry spiritually all your petitions dear to you, deep down your hearts, and personally present them at the holy sites.”

I AM TOUCHED BY THIS “THOUGHT I WAS COMING HERE TO REST, BUT LANDS MINISTRY IS MESSY” – MASEBO

0

I AM TOUCHED BY THIS “THOUGHT I WAS COMING HERE TO REST, BUT LANDS MINISTRY IS MESSY – MASEBO.”

        ———————————

This must hurt HH more than anyone else.

Even though minister Masebo says the mess in reference was left by PF, my interpretation is that UPND is so incompetent such that it has no capacity to clean up the mess after three years in office.

She urges people not to entertain PF but support UPND without stating when the mess will be cleaned up. Since UPND has failed to clean up the mess in lands ministry after three years in office, when then is that mess going to be cleaned up?

While she says that was PF’s mess, what is she saying about her predecessor in that ministry regarding his capacity to clean up the mess?

What should that indicate to the appointing authority? I think HH should be hurt the most. This is self confirmation of the inability inherent in the UPND government to solve problems.

HH has trusted the minister who failed to clean mess in lands ministry to go and clean the UPND mess at Health.

The mess regarding $100M health posts deal.

The mess regarding 61 containers of medicines.

The mess regarding PSs giving contracts to themselves.

The mess regarding theft of drugs.

The mess regarding procurement of drugs.

The mess regarding non functional cancer hospital radio therapeutic machines.

The mess regarding non availability of drugs in hospitals and other health centers.

The mess regarding employment of volunteers.

Honestly speaking, I respect minister Muchima for a patriot I think he is, but I am worried about the views coming from her counterpart.

Coming back to minister Masebo, I am disappointed that she thought she was going to lands ministry to rest. I though she was fully aware that she was going there to serve.

Again this must worry HH more than anyone.

You imagine the president placing a minister in a ministry who thinks she going to rest when the presidents wants her to go and serve. This is really unfortunate.

I could be wrong, but in my strong opinion; if minister Masebo is thinking of resting, she should resign and let the president assign someone who has a mentality of service and not resting. In the first place, she could have just declined the deployment since this thinking was there just as she was asked to move to lands ministry.

May be just to think of it another way, the minister left health ministry messy herself. Drug thefts, 61 containers, drug procurement issues etc. why did she want to inherit a clean ministry while leaving a messy health ministry?

And remember this is UPND ness, not PF.

But all this in my view, must hurt HH more than anyone. This communication is really hurting UPND but at this point there is simply no curative measure to take as far as I see it. Frankly speaking even the newly recruited communication specialists will simply get confused and do nothing.

I have to reiterate my sympathy for HH in this regard, remember he is the one who boasted about the team he was going to appoint. Sadly this is the team. And this team tells us things unsolicited.

We keep looking and hearing.

On this Boxing Day, I hope you unmask something special.

Restoring EVERYTHING PATRIOTIC.

MOZAMBIQUE DEATHS PROTESTS WORRY HARRY KALABA

MOZAMBIQUE DEATHS PROTESTS WORRY HARRY KALABA

26.12.24

The violence and subsequent deaths that have occurred in Mozambique are worrying and need immediate intervention by leaders of the SADC community, says Citizens First (CF) President Harry Kalaba.

Kalaba, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Zambia cautioned that regional conflicts had the ability of ‘spilling over’ into neighbouring countries once left unattended to.

“My appeal is that Zambia under President Hichilema and other SADC leaders must urgently convene and find a quick solution to end the deaths and post election protests in Mozambique before this becomes a regional conflict,” said Kalaba.

Kalaba said it is unacceptable that some 150 people have died in the violence that erupted three months ago after elections were disputed by self-exiled opposition leader Venancio Mondlane who refused to concede defeat to ruling FRELIMO party candidate Daniel Chapo.
“This calls for regional intervention by not just Zambia as a neighbour but SADC and AU before this turns into a regional humanitarian catastrophe that has the potential of spilling into Zambia,” said Kalaba.

The former long-term serving Foreign Affairs Minister and lawmaker added that the officially reported escape from prison of 1,500 prisoners now roaming the streets of the capital Maputo just goes to worsen the situation in a country that has been at peace since 1975 when FRELIMO assumed power.

“As regional leaders we must plug the Mozambique protests so that we don’t have another Sudan and Somalia where millions have been displaced from homes, hundreds have died and millions are starving,” said Kalaba.

The CF President said his party’s desire is to see that the region, and not only Zambia, is conflict free as the new year 2025 begins in earnest in order to grow regional economies.

“Zambia as a crucial member of SADC, must play a leading role in ending the conflict in Mozambique and elsewhere in Africa. We must show leadership and not stand on the fence,” said Kalaba.

He warned that Zambia should learn from the conflict in Mozambique and manage its pre 2026 election process well so that we don’t experience a bloody aftermath like Mozambique.

Woman Bares it All: My Best Friend is Seeing my Baby Dad
Jessie Mpinde wrote;
The last few days have been very difficult and traumatizing for me both mentally and emotionally. I have been in a very bad space and wanting it all to disappear. I found out in a rude and shocking way that my very close friend is going out with the father of my child which left me very perplexed.

It all started last week Friday when I flew to Joburge to meet with my business partner who is also the father of my child. I arrived in the afternoon And went to check into the hotel. I called him to inform him that I had settled and to see what the plan was for the evening. We agreed to meet at my favorite restaurant to plan out next few days as we were there on business.
When it was time, I left to meet him at the restaurant. I got there before him and then I sat at the bar to wait for him. But yo my surprise, he arrived with my friend Nyoni Violet Tracy by his side. Tracy is a very close friend that I have known from my teenage years in makeni who is also like a sister to me. This shocked and traumatized me very much. I was in such disbelief.

Our relationship with my baby daddy has not been a fairytale and I have met him on several occasions with different women some of which he entertains from our business premises and I have always given him his space. But for it to extend to someone close to my heart was beyond me.

I admit that posting it on social media was not the wisest thing to do but in that very moment, her attitude and how she responded to me when I tried to find out what was going on really provoked me to anger. In my whole life I try to stay away from unnecessary drama and protect myself but this one was difficult.

Over the last few days, Tracy has been going on platforms denying knowing me and our friendship saying that I am claiming.
This morning, I posted some pictures of me and her. I had no words at the time as I was still in shock. I have attached the same video and pictures now of proof of our friendship with the first picture and video taken in my home where I would host her and cooked for her on many occasions. You can hear her in the video saying that you have to enjoy in your sister’s house. So if we do not know each other at all, how are we in my home drinking wine and cooking so comfortably with our wigs off?

One of the pictures is a screenshot from my birthday in 2019. Now, how would I be celebrating my birthday with a stranger to the point of posting a picture together and captioning it?
How about the pictures at the master cook event of both of us looking much younger? Do strangers show each other that much affection on camera?

She has lied to everyone leaving me to look like I am delusional. I have shared these pictures and videos because I think it is only right that the correct truth is known. I am not crazy and I am not delusional. Neither am I an attention seeker.

Here is what bothers my mind though. She knew where the man was going and who he was going to meet. If she was well meaning and peace loving, why did she not remain somewhere and catch up with him after the meeting? What was the motive of her coming along to the restaurant and what reaction did she expect? Was there a point that she was trying to prove? Was it all worth her risking my relationship with my child’s father and my business partner?

My relationship with baby daddy has not been a romantic movie but as women and as sisters, there are values that we must uphold. Tracy was not just anyone to me. She was like a sister, as you can hear her say it in the video as she pretended to be the one cooking and me giggling in the background as I filmed it.

If you look at the video and the few pictures, does that look to you like strangers?
The million dollar question is what did I ever do to her to deserve this?

She can come and defend her self and say whatever she wants but only her and myself know the complete truth.

VISA FREE ENTRY INTO ZAMBIA NEEDS A SERIOUS RE-THINK!

VISA FREE ENTRY INTO ZAMBIA NEEDS A SERIOUS RE-THINK!

27 December 2024

New Heritage Party agrees with Citizens First President, Harry Kalaba, that the allowance of visa-free entries by Government into Zambia by a further 53 countries, is detrimental to our country.  We take note that an initial 100 countries were granted this status under the current Government.  The approach being taken by Government is:

1. Trying to resolve a complex problem with a very simplistic approach
This approach of supposedly boosting our tourism sector, is unfounded and not based on any sound research.  Although visa-fees into Zambia were and are considered high, they are not the only factor that affect the tourists flow to this destination.  Other factors and which carry more weight, include, high accommodation and food costs, high corruption by our traffic police, attitude by our frontline boarder personnel, poor infrastructure, to name but a few.  Simply abolishing visa fees without attending to these other issues, will just not answer to the problem trying to be resolved.

2. Compromising Zambia’s security
The application of Visas enables the host country to do a due diligence upon the applicant individual.  They are not meant to be a routine process.  The Visa questionnaire has been carefully designed to sieve ordinary visitors from undesirable persons.  They may not be 100% full proof, but they give a first line of defence to the process of protecting undesirables from entering or using the country as a base for criminal or even terrorist activities.

3. Depriving the country of much needed foreign exchange.
It is a worldwide recognised practice that Visas come at a cost and thus paid for using foreign currency.  Zambia is desperately short of foreign currency and by abolishing fees at the now 167 cumulative number of countries that will not need to pay Visas fees means that we have cut off a perfectly acceptable source of foreign exchange.

What needs to be done?
• Visa fees needed to be revised downwards (not completely abolished) to enable them to be comparable with those in the region.  This would ensure that some foreign exchange would still be earned whilst maintaining the security integrity of our country.

• Government needs to seriously address the issues that negatively affect our tourism industry as mentioned above.

Conclusion
If Government needs to open our boarders, they should do so, firstly with all our African Union (AU) partners in order to promote intra-African trade.  As far as the New Heritage Party is concerned, there is much gain to be had by taking the Pan-African approach than what the government is doing, courting nations that we do not derive benefit from.
In addition, the Government needs to focus on issues that matter to the common Zambians.  High cost of living, high fuel prices, the high foreign exchange rate, the lack of medicines in health facilities as well as the high levels of corruption that has continued to dog this nation.

ILLEGAL TRADE BOOMS IN SOUTH AFRICA’S ‘SUPER STRANGE LOOKING’ PLANTS

ILLEGAL TRADE BOOMS IN SOUTH AFRICA’S ‘SUPER STRANGE LOOKING’ PLANTS

A biodiversity hotspot in a remote part of South Africa has become the hub of an illegal trade in protected plant species, with organised crime groups capitalising on overseas demand.

“They’ve not just stolen our land or our plants, they’ve stolen our heritage as well,” a livestock farmer angrily tells the BBC, as she expresses dismay at the social and ecological crisis that the poaching has caused.

Most of the plants in question are a variety known as succulents, named for their ability to hold water and survive in arid climates.

Many of the world’s succulent species are only found in the Succulent Karoo desert, which spans South Africa and Namibia.

Succulent species range in size, shape and colour – some look like small multi-coloured buttons and some look like cacti, sprouting colourful flowers at certain times of the year.

While these varieties can be cultivated in nurseries, global demand is also fuelling the poaching of these plants from the wild which are then smuggled and sold online to buyers in the US, Europe and East Asia.

In Kamieskroon, a small town in the centre of South Africa’s Namaqualand region, the rolling hills have become a haven for poachers.

Some of the species are highly localised, and so can be wiped out by just a small amount of poaching.

“In South Africa, we know already of seven species that has been wiped out completely and there are certainly more species that will go extinct very soon,” says Pieter van Wyk, a nursery curator at the /Ai /Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Park.

It is hard to obtain figures for how many plants are being poached, but the non-governmental organisation Traffic reports that 1.6 million illegally harvested succulents were seized by South Africa’s law enforcement agencies between 2019 and 2024. This only represents the contraband that was detected, so the true figure is likely to be far higher.

The South African government is well aware of the problem, and unveiled a strategy in 2022 to combat poaching. It includes running community programmes about the need to protect the environment. (BBC News)

Bishop T.D. Jakes has taken further steps to end misinformation linking him to Sean Diddy Combs

Bishop T.D. Jakes has taken further steps to end misinformation linking him to the scandal hanging over Sean Diddy Combs.

Legal representatives of the preacher have reportedly filed a motion in the Northern District of California aiming to order Google (YouTube’s parent company) to identify the person or persons behind YouTube accounts posting alleged misinformation about him.

The accounts are reportedly located in South Africa, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Kenya. Lawyers for the bishop say the accounts released false information regarding T.D. Jakes using AI-generated content.

Since the arrest of Diddy, many Black public figures, including T.D. Jakes, became the subject of social media investigation. Some AI-generated content has reportedly targeted people like Jakes, Steve Harvey, and Denzel Washington.

Early this month, T.D. Jakes broke his silence on allegations linking him to Sean Diddy Combs. In a statement issued on his behalf, the alleged claims were said to be “unequivocally false and baseless”.

The alleged rumor about Jakes started on Monday, December 18, when a video appeared on social media suggesting that the preacher had attended several Diddy-hosted events, dated people of the same gender, and engaged in improper sexual behavior with a minor.

Despite requiring verification that the video content was accurate, several social media influencers shared it.

The popular preacher became a trending topic on multiple social media platforms within minutes after the video went viral, with one TikTok account that also posted it reaching nearly 2 million views.

Last month, Bishop T.D. Jakes filed a defamation lawsuit against Duane Youngblood, a Pennsylvania-based pastor who accused him of sexual assault.

Appearing on the Larry Reid Live podcast, Youngblood claimed the assault happened when he was 18 or 19 years old. However, a representative for T.D. Jakes said Youngblood fabricated the story for financial gain.

The defamation, according to sources, was filed in a Pennsylvania federal court. Bishop T.D. Jakes subsequently had a medical emergency while delivering a sermon at The Potter’s House Church in Dallas.

A representative for the 67-year-old pastor suggested that the stress from the lawsuit may have played a role in the medical emergency. Jakes’ team added that the defamation suit was intended to deal with the falsehood and to end the emotional, physical, and spiritual toll the Defendants’ conduct had caused Bishop Jakes.

Muswere Clarifies Why ZANU-PF Is Still Pursuing ED2030 Despite President Mnangagwa’s Refusal to Extend Term

Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Jenfran Muswere has shed light on ZANU PF’s decision to proceed with a resolution to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term in office to 2030, even after Mnangagwa himself declined the offer.

Muswere Clarifies Why ZANU-PF Is Still Pursuing ED2030

Muswere, who is also a ZANU-PF Central Committee member and Makoni West legislator, explained that resolutions made at the party’s recent Annual People’s Conference are binding. He emphasized that no one opposed the resolution when it was presented during the conference.

Muswere’s remarks were in response to Gilbert Zowa, a recently elected war veterans’ association member, during a ZANU-PF Makoni District Coordination Committee (DCC) meeting. Zowa had sought clarification on the slogan “ED2030,” pointing out that Mnangagwa had previously expressed disinterest in extending his term beyond 2028, despite the party’s push.

Muswere urged party members to rely on the ZANU-PF constitution and resolutions passed at the Bulawayo conference.

“Regarding the ED2030 slogan, as Cde (Gilbert) Zowa mentioned, the President made his own announcement. However, our guiding principle on this matter should be the ZANU PF constitution, which stipulates the holding of the annual National People’s Conference. The last conference was held in Bulawayo, which was attended by all the requisite party organs. Most of you here today attended that conference. This conference was attended by various party organs, including the Central Committee. It was legally and properly constituted, with the required quorum,” he said.

Muswere defended the ED2030 slogan, framing it as a commitment to continuity in Zimbabwe’s development trajectory under Mnangagwa’s leadership.

“The Central Committee report, which encompassed all resolutions from Provincial Coordination Committees (PCCs), was tabled. The resolutions from Zanu PF provinces were read out and unanimously adopted. The meeting also reviewed thematic committees’ deliberations. Most of you were in attendance at the conference, which was chaired by Zanu PF national chairperson, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri. Together with other leaders, Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri requested the adoption of the resolutions asking the President to remain in office beyond 2030, in order to continue pursuing the country’s development trajectory,” said Muswere.

Upcoming Surgery Comes with a Hefty Price Tag
Doc Shebeleza revealed in an interview with Daily Sun that the upcoming surgery, which is expected to cost a staggering R350 000, has left him struggling financially.

“I’ve paid some of the money, but now I’m short. I don’t have enough. It’s very difficult, private hospitals are extremely expensive,” he shared.

He also mentioned that he has already spent R20 000 on medication, which has added to the financial burden. Despite these challenges, the musician is recovering well from the first surgery but remains in urgent need of financial assistance.

“I need help. I’ve spent years helping others and when someone is in need, they should be supported. I want people to hear this directly from me, not through rumours. I need help and I’d truly appreciate the love and support from South Africans,” he said.

Halle Bailey and Ex-Boyfriend Give Their Son An Expensive Ferrari For His Birthday

Singer and Actress Halle Bailey and her YouTuber partner DDG have celebrated the first birthday of their son with a big surprise.

The former couple, who separated in October, were said to have reunited after their son, Halo, was one year old on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

DDG shared some behind-the-scenes videos of Halo’s anniversary, which included a brand new red Ferrari F8, which was presented to the boy as a gift.

In the clip, guests at the party chanted Halo’s name as the Ferrari pulled around while the father held the child up in the air. The mother also sang a special rendition of “Happy Birthday” to Halo.

In October, Halle Bailey said she was resorting to self-love following a breakup with her boyfriend, DDG, whom she had been with for about two years.

The Little Mermaid star and her ex-boyfriend were said to have ended the love affair after welcoming their son, who was nine months old at the time.

The cause of the breakup was not disclosed when Halle Bailey spoke about the next chapter of her life in an interview.

She stated, “I think this new chapter in my life is just all about self-love and giving all that love that I pour out of myself back into myself… I feel like you have to fill yourself up to be able to love other people and beings.”

The television personality added that she was giving her son full attention because taking care of a child was an essential part of motherhood.

Apart from maternal duties, she also talked about traveling occasionally to cool off from work pressures and clear her mind.

“Travel is so important to me because it’s essential to my mental health….I work so much a lot of the time, and I’m a new mom—there’s all these factors playing into my brain as a young woman now. And I feel like traveling really just helps me reset,” she added.

Hailey’s partner DDG, a YouTuber, issued a statement about their separation saying the decision “was not easy, but it was “the best path forward.”

HUNDREDS ESCAPE MOZAMBIQUE PRISON AMID ELECTION PROTESTS

More than 1,500 prisoners have escaped from a prison in Mozambique, taking advantage of ongoing political unrest triggered by disputed election results, police say.

Thirty-three people were killed and 15 injured in clashes with guards, police chief Bernardino Rafael told a press conference.

About 150 more fugitives have since been recaptured, he added.

Protests erupted on Monday in response to Mozambique’s highest court confirming that the ruling Frelimo party, in power since 1975, had won October’s presidential elections.

Mr Rafael said groups of anti-government protesters had approached the prison in the capital Maputo on Wednesday. Prisoners used the unrest to knock down a wall and escape, he said.

Mozambique has been rocked by unrest since disputed elections in October. Official results showed the ruling Frelimo’s candidate for president, Daniel Chapo, winning.

Fresh protests erupted on Monday, when the constitutional court ruled that Chapo had won the election, while revising his margin of victory downwards.

Initial results in October said Daniel Chapo gained a 71% share of the vote to his main rival Venâncio Mondlane’s 20%. The court has now ruled that he won 65% to Mondlane’s’s 24%.

A BBC reporter found Maputo was like a ghost town on Christmas Eve, with almost all businesses shut and people staying at home to avoid being caught up in the worst unrest in the city since Frelimo first rose to power in 1975.

Frelimo’s offices, police stations, banks and factories have been looted, vandalised and set ablaze around the country. Since Monday, at least 21 people have been killed in the unrest, the interior minister said late on Tuesday.

Mondlane, who has since fled Mozambique, had been calling on his supporters to demonstrate against what he said was a rigged vote.

In a weekend social media message, he said there could be a “new popular uprising” if the result was not overturned.

About 150 people have been killed in three months of protests since the elections. (BBC News)

Young Thug Issues Public Apology To Mariah The Scientist Amid Leaked Jail Calls

Young Thug has issued a public apology to his girlfriend Mariah The Scientist following multiple leaked jail calls that likely rocked the boat in their relationship.

In a post to X on Christmas Eve (December 24), the rapper wrote: “Sorry to my baby for all this bullshit on the internet. I love u baby and fuck em all we know what’s up with us!”

In one call that leaked this week, Thugger discussed how much Mariah loves him – to the point that it worries him.

“[She loves me] too much. Sometimes too much,” Thug said. “[It scares me how much] because it’s like man if I do something, if I smack something or something like that, you’d probably be devastated.”

He also admitted to calling at least 10 other women each time he hops on the phone, and at one point asked his friend to text another woman to get in touch with her.

In a second leaked video dating back to 2022, Thug is seen having an emotional conversation with boxer Devin Haney’s partner, Laney.

After that video hit the web, both Thug and Laney issued statements.

“That video was before I met my bd… I would never talk to thug or any other man,” Laney said on her Instagram Story.

On X, Thug wrote: “Man me and twin was talking bout some whole other serious shit, I don’t know y she spoke on loving other people or anything else cause ain giving no fuck bout no hoes or n-ggas I’m the capital P lol that’s my twin and nothing else. Laney didn’t seem to take kindly to Thug’s reply, adding to her story afterward: “lol i’m nobody’s twin I’m 100% down for my baby daddy with whatever he do and whoever else he fuck with and that’s why y’all mad.”

Young Thug has been in hot water with Mariah The Scientist before – like when fans noticed photos of his ex-fiancée Jerrika Karlae on the wall of his jail cell.

In January, bodycam footage of Thugga’s cell being searched for contraband appeared online. The footage dates back to June 2022, per the timestamp in the video.

On the wall was a picture of him and Karlae from their time as a couple, as well as a number of other photos of her scattered alongside pictures of Mariah.

Russia Launches Massive Christmas Day Attack On Ukraine’s Energy Grid

0

Russia, on Wednesday, launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine’s energy system, leaving about half a million persons without power on Christmas day.

Drones, cruise and ballistic missiles were launched at various cities in Ukraine, wounding at least six people in the northeastern city of Kharkiv and killing one person in the region of Dnipropetrovsk, the governors there said.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a post on X, described the attack as “inhumane”.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine managed to shoot down over 50 of the 70 missiles launched into the country.

“Every Russian massive strike takes time to prepare. It is never a spontaneous decision. It is a conscious choice not only of targets, but also of time and date.

“Today, Putin deliberately chose Christmas for an attack. What could be more inhumane? More than 70 missiles, including ballistic ones, and more than 100 strike drones. The targets are our energy sector. They continue to fight for a blackout in Ukraine.

“According to preliminary data, our defenders managed to shoot down more than 50 missiles and a significant part of the drones. Unfortunately, there are hits.

“As of now, there are outages in several regions. Energy workers are working to restore the power supply as soon as possible.

Russia has continued hitting the Ukrainian energy sector in recent months, damaging almost half of its generating capacity and causing prolonged blackouts.

In a Telegram post, Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said Wednesday’s strike damaged civilian non-residential infrastructure, without giving more detail.

Similarly, Dnipropetrovsk Governor Serhiy Lysak said the fatality there occurred in an attack on regional power facilities.

“Since the morning, the Russian army has been massively attacking the Dnipro region. It is trying to destroy the region’s power system,” he said.

Ukraine’s Energy Minister German Galushchenko in a post on Facebook that Russia “is massively attacking the power sector” adding that the transmission system operator had restricted electricity supply to minimise the effect.

The country’s largest private energy company, DTEK, said its generating facilities were attacked during the strike, causing serious damage to power equipment.

“This year, it is the 13th massive attack on the Ukrainian energy sector and the 10th massive attack on the company’s energy facilities,” DTEK said on Telegram.

Toyota Global Production Down For 10th Month Despite Rising Sales

Toyota Motor’s global production decreased for a 10th straight month in November, the Japanese carmaker said on Wednesday, although its worldwide sales grew for the second consecutive month on solid demand in the United States and China.

The world’s biggest automaker manufactured 869,230 vehicles globally in November, down 6.2 per cent from the same month last year, a larger fall than October’s 0.8 per cent dip.

Toyota’s U.S. output was down 11.8 per cent, making a slow recovery although the production of Grand Highlander and Lexus TX SUV models resumed in late October after a four-month stoppage.

China production dropped 1.6 per cent, which was however better than a 9 per cent decline in the previous month, as Toyota saw higher local sales of its Granvia and Sienna minivan models and the electric sedan bZ3 jointly developed with BYD.

Amid the rise of BYD and other Chinese brands, Toyota has decided to build an independent plant in Shanghai and start manufacturing electric cars for its Lexus luxury brand from around 2027, the Nikkei newspaper reported on Monday.

In Japan, which accounts for about a third of Toyota’s global output, production was down 9.3 per cent in November, due in part to a two-day production halt at its Fujimatsu and Yoshiwara plants.

The carrier said a vendor technology issue briefly affected its ability to get planes into U.S. airspace on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

Toyota saw its worldwide sales rising for a second straight month, by 1.7 per cent to 920,569 vehicles, setting a new record for the month of November.

In the January-to-November period, Toyota’s global output was 5.2 per cent lower than the same period last year at around 8.75 million vehicles, while global sales were down 1.2 per cent.

The production and sales figures include vehicles of Toyota’s Lexus brand but exclude those of group companies Hino and Daihatsu.

African Union Asked To Probe Russian Claims Of U.S Bio-Labs In Nigeria, Others

The Foundation for Peace Professionals (PeacePro), an African peacebuilding organization, has called on the African Union (AU) to urgently investigate Russia’s claims that the U.S. is conducting covert biological research in Africa.

Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Alexey Shevtsov, had accused the U.S. of operating biological programmes in several African nations, including Ghana, Djibouti, Kenya, and Nigeria.

Shevtsov said the programmes which allegedly involve pathogen isolation, sequencing, and research could potentially lead to the development of ethnic-specific biological weapons.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Executive Director of PeacePro, Abdulrazaq Hamzat, expressed deep concern over the geopolitical implications of the accusations and their potential impact on African sovereignty and security.

“The African Union must rise to the occasion by commissioning an independent investigation to verify these claims. The peace and well-being of over a billion Africans cannot be left at the mercy of unverified geopolitical assertions,” the statement read.

PeacePro called on Africa to assert its independence in global matters, stating that the continent cannot afford to be a battleground for superpower rivalries.

Russia’s allegations include the establishment of a U.S. military medical center in Kenya to monitor infectious diseases in Central Africa, Joint medical research programs in Nigeria, reportedly involving 10 specialists from the U.S. Department of Defense and Pathogen research initiatives in Ghana and Djibouti.

While the U.S. has yet to respond to these allegations, PeacePro noted that the accusations demand urgent clarification, given their potential ramifications for public health and regional stability.

“We cannot allow Africa to be used as a laboratory for experiments or as a theatre for geopolitical confrontations,” Hamzat said.

The group urged African leaders to prioritize the security of the continent by demanding accountability from both the U.S. and Russia.

PeacePro called on the AU to collaborate with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), independent scientific bodies, and African research institutions to investigate the matter in order to ensure impartiality and trust.

Don’t Blame Haaland For Man City’s Poor Form – Pep Guardiola

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has revealed that Erling Haaland is not to blame for the team’s poor run of form ahead of the Boxing Day’s clash against Everton.

The defending champions lost 2-1 to Aston Villa on Saturday to continue their disastrous form, which has seen them slip out of the top four to sit seventh on the log.

Top scorer, Erling Haaland has been criticised for his lack of effort as the team struggles for form and confidence, but Guardiola has leap to his defence.

Guardiola said: “It’s about us, it’s not just about one player.

“So when in the past we scored goals and Erling was so prolific in helping us, it’s because of the team. And when you have problems at the back, in the middle, it’s for everyone.

“If it was just one player, the reason why, it would be easy. It’s not about that. Erling is so important for us, will be so important for us, and we try to do things better, to use him better.”

Haaland has scored just two goals in the last 10 matches after scoring 10 in their opening five matches in the league.

He has scored 13 goals in 17 Premier League matches this season.

Guardiola is unsure if the trio of Matheus Nunes, Ederson, and John Stones will be available for the clash against Everton, while also praising Sean Dyche for his impressive work at Goodison Park.

He said: “All the tendency to say we don’t run, we don’t fight, the reason why is this one, this situation or this player or this manager or this.

“It’s not about that. It’s many little details or big details that all together make us not as good as we were.

“But we have another opportunity on Boxing Day to try and win time for the players to come back and in a certain time we’ll be better.

“Sean Dyche always has a really good defensive structure, really good patterns defensively, offensively.

“And when they are able to do it against Arsenal and Chelsea, that means they are really good because they have good transitions and of course at set-pieces, long balls, they are really, really strong.”

Manchester City are currently 12 points behind table-toppers Liverpool with the Reds having played a game less.

The defending champions have had just one win in 12 matches in all competitions since October, suffering a sixth defeat in their last eight Premier League games against Aston Villa.

Everton will be buoyed by their battling performance to earn a point in the 0-0 draw against Chelsea at Goodison Park on Sunday.

UK economy had zero growth between July and September

The UK economy had zero growth between July and September, revised official figures show.

The revised data comes after a series of disappointing figures including inflation rising at its fastest pace for eight months, and the economy unexpectedly shrinking in October.

One of the UK’s leading business groups, the CBI said its latest company survey suggested “the economy is headed for the worst of all worlds”.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves said the challenge to fix the economy “after 15 years of neglect is huge”, while shadow chancellor Mel Stride said Monday’s figures showed “growth has tanked on Labour’s watch”.

The revised figure will be a blow to Labour which has made boosting the economy its top priority.

It has promised to deliver the highest sustained economic growth in the G7 group of rich nations.

Businesses have already warned that measures announced in October’s Budget including a rise in employer national insurance contributions (NICs) and a higher minimum wage could push them into cutting jobs and raising prices.

These Budget changes come into effect in April. But Stride said the latest revisions from the three months before the October Budget signal “the warning lights are flashing” on how the economy will fare into 2025.

Reeves said Labour’s Budget would “deliver sustainable long-term growth, putting more money in people’s pockets through increased investment and relentless reform.”

Liberal Democrat treasury spokesperson, Daisy Cooper called on the government to reverse the national insurance tax hike on small businesses and scrap the business rates system.

Job cuts and price rises

The CBI, which claims to represent 170,000 firms, said its survey based on responses of 899 firms between 25 November and 12 December, found private sector businesses across all industries expected a “steep decline in activity” in the first three months in 2025.

“Expectations are now at their weakest in over two years,” said Alpesh Paleja, the CBI’s interim deputy chief economist.

A separate survey by the British Retail Consortium, which represents UK retailers ranging from Marks and Spencer to Tesco, suggested a “January spending squeeze on the horizon” for consumers.

It said “public confidence in the state of the economy took a nosedive” this month, according to its consumer sentiment survey.

“With sales growth unable to keep pace, retailers will have no choice but to raise prices or cut costs – closing stores and freezing recruitment,” said Helen Dickinson, chief executive of the BRC.

‘Teeing up a recession’

Paul Dales, chief economist at Capital Economics, said there was “no doubt that some business and households put spending and investment on hold around the Budget”. But he said it was “too soon to see any genuine effect of Labour policies”.

He said it would be a matter of time before the drag from higher interest rates gave way to a boost from lower rates but he expected to see an improvement in the second half of next year.

Simon French, chief economist at Panmure Liberum said the revised figures were consistent “with a lot of other indicators we’ve seen since the July general election that’ve shown a loss of momentum in the economy”.

He said there was a question over whether this was a typical slowdown as seen after previous general elections which later picked up or “whether this is something more problematic teeing up a recession next year”.

The Bank of England voted to hold interest rates on Thursday, stating it thought the UK economy had performed worse than expected, with no growth at all between October and December.

The UK economy is measured by gross domestic product – a measure of all the economic activity of companies, governments and people in the country.

The ONS puts out initial estimates on the UK’s economic performance and revises them once it receives more data.

On Monday it also revised down growth figures for April to June to 0.4% from 0.5%.

It said the economy was weaker than initially estimated as bars and restaurants, legal firms and advertising firms performed less well.

“Real household disposable income per head showed no growth,” ONS director of economic statistics Liz McKeown said.- BBC

Sudan slides deeper into famine – Experts

0

War-hit Sudan is sliding into a “widening famine crisis” that has been marked by worsening starvation and a surge in acute malnutrition, an independent group of food security experts says.

Famine has spread to five areas, with 24.6 million people – about half the population – in urgent need of food aid, the experts said.

The hunger crisis has been caused by the 20-month civil war that has devastated Sudan.

Various mediation efforts aimed at ending the conflict between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have so far failed.

The army and RSF had jointly staged a coup in 2021, but a power struggle between their commanders plunged the country into a civil war in 2023.

It has led to one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, with the UN-backed Famine Review Committee (FRC) warning that a “greater catastrophe” could unfold if the conflict did not end.

The committee is linked to the Integrated Food Phase Classification (IPC) – a global initiative by UN agencies, aid groups and governments to identify famine conditions.

On Monday, Sudan’s military-backed government announced it was suspending its cooperation with the group, accusing it of issuing “unreliable reports that undermine Sudan’s sovereignty and dignity”, Reuters news agency reports.

The IPC had first identified a famine in August at the Zamzam camp in Sudan’s Darfur region, where about half a million people were taking refuge.

In its latest report, the FRC said that famine had now also hit the Abu Shouk and al-Salam camps in Darfur’s besieged city of el-Fasher, as well as two areas in South Kordofan state.

“Famine is the most extreme manifestation of human suffering, representing a catastrophic collapse of the systems and resources essential for survival,” the FRC said.

“It is not merely a lack of food but a profound breakdown of health, livelihoods and social structures, leaving entire communities in a state of desperation,” it added.

The FRC predicted that five further areas in Darfur could face famine by May, and there was a risk of it spreading to 17 other areas.

“In areas of high conflict intensity, the hostilities severely disrupted farming activities, resulting in farmers abandoning their crops, looting and stock destruction,” it added.

Both Darfur and South Kordofan have been hit by some of the worst violence, with scores of civilians killed, raped and abducted by gunmen.

In May, US special envoy for Sudan Tom Perriello said that some estimates suggested up to 150,000 people had been killed in the conflict across the country.
