HOW HH INTENDS TO “WIN” 2026 ELECTIONS-  Wynona Silwamba

HOW HH INTENDS TO “WIN” 2026 ELECTIONS

By Wynona Silwamba

President Hakainde Hichilema recognises that he has literally been knocked out of the 2026 presidential race because of his failure to address the various crises: economic crisis, high cost of living, food insecurity, youth unemployment, poverty, failure to deliver on his campaign promises such as cheaper mealie-meal, fuel electricity, fertiliser, cooking oil and sugar.

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has only two choices.

1. Change leadership, remove Hakainde Hichilema to present a new leader in 2026, to increase chances of the Party to retain power.

2. Rig the elections-Hichilema has chosen the second option. To manipulate the results of the 2026 general elections.

PREPARATIONS FOR 2026 ELECTIONS AND ITS MANIPULATION

Hichilema had evil foresight. He appointed persons from one region of the country to head all key positions.

He appointed Nelly Mutti and Mumba Malila to head the Legislature and Judiciary, respectively.

He has also appointed Vincent Blacksin Malambo SC as Chairperson of the Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC), Prof. Mulela Margaret Munalula as President of the Constitutional Court and Hichilema’s associate, Arnold Mweetwa Shilimi, as Deputy President of the Constitutional Court.

Or, by the way, have you ever wondered why there were high rewards for the team from the Center for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ)?

Board Chairperson Bradford Machila was appointed as State House Principle Private Secretary, Dr. Roma Chilengi (Chief Scientific Officer) appointed as State House Special Assistant for Health, Dr. Lawrence Mwananyanda appointed as State House Special Assistant for Projects, CIDRZ Board Member, Mrs. Kondwa Sakala Chibiya was appointed as a member of the Judicial Service Commission.

This team at CIDRZ was key in securing funding for the UPND hiding through the organisation. There is speculation were these funds came from, including from USA LGBTQ groups.

Hichilema appointed a senior member of the UPND, Frances Mwangala Ifunga Zaloumis, as Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Zambia. He also appointed a well-known UPND cadre and the Executive Director of Governance, Elections, Advocacy and Research Initiatives (GEARS), Mc donald Chipenzi, as Commissioner on thr ECZ Board.

GEARS was instrumental in training observers and affirming the 2021 election results.

Hichilema also appointed heads of the defence and national security from the same region.

He has also proceeded to appoint heads of state-owned enterprises and state agencies from the same region.

These appointments will be key in 2026 and will be useful for what is being prepared ahead.

2. DESTROY THE OPPOSITION

A systematic plan is underway to destroy and decimate the Opposition.

The Patriotic Front(PF) has been officially been proscribed, while a stooge has been imposed as President on the fake PF.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Nelly Mutti was quick to illegally change the leadership of the Opposition in Parliament, while Mumba Malila did not bother when the cases challenging the illegalities against the Patriotic Front, were deliberately stalled, deliberately delayed and deliberately sabotaged.

3. SHRINKING DEMOCRATIC SPACE

President Hichilema has heightened attacks against democracy and democratic institutions with the help of appointees such as the Inspector General of Police, Graphael Musamba.

He has restricted coverage of the Opposition on the public broadcaster, ZNBC.

He has banned political rallies, meetings, protests and demonstrations by the Opposition.

He has systematically arrested key leaders of the Opposition and has charged them with trumped up charges.

Vocal critics such as Socialist Party leader, Fred M’membe have been slapped with trumped up charges.

Amb.Emmanuel Mwamba, Rizwan Patel and other were tortured while other members of the Opposition have fled the country such as Economic and Equity Party (EEP) leader, Chilufya Tayali, former State House aide, Kaizer Zulu and former Minister of Information and former NDC Leader, Chishimba Kambwili.

But Kambwili was abducted from Zimbabwe, and forcibly returned to Zambia.

4. RIGGING INFRASTRUCTURE

Mwangala Zaloumis is being used to horn the rigging strategy that will be unleashed and implemented in 2026.

Since October 2023, the Patriotic Front has been banned from participating in elections.

The entire approach is meant to disenfranchise former President, Edgar Lungu who has returned to active politics.

The UPND have unleashed violence against other party agents that are chased from polling stations after close of poll.

The continuous voter registration and mobile NRC issuance exercises, are being abused to promote more voter numbers in Hichilema’s perceived stronghold.

In recent by-elections, the Police have ignored with impunity, reports of violence against members of the Opposition.

This is part of the larger strategy to restrict the operations of the critics and the Opposition.

5. ASSET SEIZURES AND DENIAL OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

Hichilema has made it clear that business entities perceived as threats against his interests will be destroyed.

He has seized their assets, denied them government businesses, and used institutions such as the Drug Enforcement Commission and the Zambia Revenue Authority(ZRA) to seize, quarantine or garnished targeted accounts against persons or entities he assumes may be against him.

On the other hand, he has extended government business opportunities to himself and his associates.

He has also increased opportunities to grab major State assets such as the copper mines to himself or his associates.

INFILTRATE AND REDUCE INFLUENCE OF CIVIL SOCIETY

The Catholic Church and other church groupings have been targeted to reduce their influence. The leadership is insulted and scandalised using State House owned rogue online media organisations.

The UPND has set up and opened various media centres of social-media, radio callers, and bloggers to manufacture opinions that Hichilema is popular.

UPND has also invested in controlling radio and tv stations.

CONCLUSION

It is clear that Hichilema has an evil agenda to clamour to power.

He may be warned that there have been previous regimes that planned to steal elections and hoped to hold on to power did not succeed.
He will not succeed. The.masses will defend their vote.

12 MOST POISONOUS SNAKES THAT WILL BITE & DUMP HH IN 2026 AFTER HIS SHAMEFUL DEFEAT: PART TWO

12 MOST POISONOUS SNAKES THAT WILL BITE & DUMP HH IN 2026 AFTER HIS SHAMEFUL DEFEAT: PART TWO

By Dr. Chris Zumani Zimba

…….Pastor Dr. Nevers Sekwila Mumba: “A man of God who is ever treacherously singing and dancing for political gold at State House”……

On 14th April, 2024, Dr Nevers Sekwila Mumba posted on his Facebook page that “if you have to humiliate someone in order to correct them, then you don’t know how to teach”. I totally agree with him. In this short article, we are merely doing a critical analysis of his life as a politician in relations to state house since 2001.

1. On 25th December, 2014, Jack Zimba wrote an article, “Nevers Mumba- The 21st Century Jonah” and concluded that “the fact is that many people loved Nevers the preacher and not Nevers the politician: it is not too late for Mumba to change course after his political debacles and go to Nineveh”. This is my opinion too because the former clergy man is perceived more of poisonous snake in Zambian politics than a respected statesman.

2. This clergy is certainly anointed by heaven to proclaim the gospel with signs and wonders. He lived this active pulpit life until 2001. After abandoning his “Victory Ministries” and tele-evangelism crusade “Zambia Shall be Saved”, Pastor Nevers Mumba joined politics and contested the presidency in 2001. However, his anticipated Christian support terribly dwindled and his presidential bid ended in brutal disappointment. He totally lost and failed!

3. A group of opposition leaders denounced the 2001 presidential election victory by Levy Mwanawasa. In trying to resolve the political deadlock, Pastor Nevers Mumba was sent to engage President Levy Mwanawasa as their representative. That is how he betrayed everyone like Jonah who went to Tarshish for himself instead of Niniveh for God. Mumba negotiated for himself and was eventually appointed Republican Vice President in 2003.

4. Anderson Mazoka as lead opposition leader was bitten and dumped like a foolish eagle. After securing a deal for himself, Nevers Mumba become the second most powerful Zambian with available state resources at his disposal. If Anderson Mazoka was to speak today, he would say “Mumba is a man of gold who betrayed and dumped them in 2003”. In 2004, Micheal Sata openly called Mumba as “Judas Iscariot”. In their graves, both Mazoka and Sata know Nevers Mumba as a poisonous political snake who dribbled and betrayed them in 2003!

5. When state power swiftly went to the pastor’s sub conscience, Mumba saw himself politically better and started to openly undermine his appointing king-Mwanawasa. “I regret appointing Nevers Mumba as vice president of this country,” Mwanawasa bitterly complained when firing Mumba on 5th October, 2004. After Mwanawasa discovered Mumba as a poisonous snake, he quickly threw him out of state house back into the Amazon forest!

6. Following the death of Mwanawasa in 2008, Mumba lost MMD party leadership elections to Vice President Rupiah Banda and chose to support him for the presidency. As payback, Rupiah Banda appointed him as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Canada. Again, he was singing and dancing at state house in political gold. Rupiah Banda became the god father for Dr. Mumba and he was being worshipped and praised in all Pentecost songs and music!

7. But in 2011, Rupiah Banda and MMD lost power to PF’s Micheal Sata. When Banda was disgraced, Dr. Mumba was equally fired from his Ottawa top job by PF. During their internal leadership disputes in 2016, Mumba denounced Rupiah Banda as the “most immoral human being”. Due to political differences, Dr. Mumba had courage to insult a man who once employed him in a high profiled job abroad! To many, this was a huge mark of disrespect and political betrayal from a renowned man of God and indeed gold.

8. During the era of president Lungu under PF, many are aware that Dr. Mumba was truly ‘swimming’ in comfort, luxury and gorgeous lifestyle materially and financially courtesy of ECL through Amos Chanda, Kaizer Zulu and other close state house associates. The pastor was nicely eating and drinking directly from the high table of president Lungu as he is doing now at Community House with HH. In many areas, Lungu took good care of Dr. Mumba by making sure that the man of God had enough political gold! In 2021, Mumba even announced to work with Lungu before their differences with Raphael Nakachinda’s faction split them far and apart.

9. Today, Mumba has turned against Lungu like a snake. On 1st March, 2024, after ‘feasting’ at Community House, Mumba was everywhere mocking Lungu that whatever the former president and his family were going through in terms of malicious corruption investigations and prosecutions were simply reaping what they sowed in the past. Really! This Mumba is ungrateful, Mumba is shameful and Mumba is disgraceful poisonous for politics because he is a deadly traitor. Why should Lungu be alone today when this Mumba was around him during his days at state house? As usual, he is only vomiting fire on Lungu today for the sake of eating cake with HH!

10. Commenting on the Police Call Out for father Chewe last month, Dr Mumba wrote on his Facebook page that “Ala Ba Catolica kubasulakofye bena bakulekafye…teti muba kwanishe, elo telelo batampa. Pantu namuli Kaunda bena balelandila abantu…Meanwhile Blessed Sunday”. Instead of calling HH as his close friend covertly to advise, Mumba the political snake mocked and blackmailed Bally via Facebook. He was raising his snake relevance as well as satanic rhetoric to Bally.

11. On many occasions, he has used such social media mockery and blackmail on his alliance partner-HH. He did the same on Invest Trust Bank’s insolvency announcement. When HH warms up to him, Dr. Mumba equally softens on his Facebook posts for state house political gold. When HH ‘stops’ picking his calls or responding to his heavy appetite messages, Mumba begins to post in heavy political mockery and blackmail against Bally. That is the big political snake in Nevers Mumba! These are warning shots of betrayal ahead of 2026!

12. In 2000, Dr Mumba told Frank Mutubila on a live interview that “as a pastor, I am not considering to join politics because that would be demotion for a man of God”. Few months later, Mumba formed National Citizen Coalition (NCC) and joined politics! Zambian political records show that Nevers should never be trusted! In 2026, HH will know the Chinsali political snake in Dr. Nevers Mumba because he will bite and dump Bally after his shameful political defeat before our voters. Most of us have already watched this movie!

For over 24 years, pastor Mumba has been living the life of Esau in Genesis 25:29 to 33 as follows:

29 Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. 30 And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” (Therefore his name was called Edom.[a]) 31 Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” 32 Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” 33 Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob.

HICHILEMA’S REIGN OF TERROR- Fred M’membe

HICHILEMA’S REIGN OF TERROR

Our Constitution guarantees that every citizen must be equal and be protected before the law.

Every single citizen of this country is equal before the law and enjoys equal protection of the law without any discrimination.

Unfortunately, under Mr Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND government, we have seen how violence and all other forms of political repression and criminality are being committed by well-known UPND cadres led by identifiable individuals some of them Cabinet Ministers and senior party officials.

It is evident that the way of violence – knifing, assaulting, beating and kidnapping has become a party and government policy to win by elections. We know this because we have been victims of vicious attacks by the UPND cadres in various different parts of the country.

Even our numerous complaints and reports to the police have fallen on deaf ears. Whenever a report is made to the police, it’s us, the victims of Mr Hichilema’s cadres’ violence who get locked up and are prosecuted. This is the impunity that the perpetrators of these crimes are enjoying for their crimes.

Nonetheless, we would like to caution the perpetrators of these violent acts that they should not think such acts will forever ever be tolerated and they’ll get away with it. Life doesn’t work that way. There is always a time to answer to the law. There is always a price to pay.

Today, these UPND cadres led by identifiable Cabinet Ministers and senior party officials might feel powerful and spread their reign of terror and bloodshed by knifing, injuring, beating and kidnapping their fellow citizens, but time will surely come when they will be made to account for these atrocities. It is extremely dangerous for citizen to become a law unto themselves and act as they wish for the sake of impressing your leaders.

Life has a way of dealing with this sort of hypocrisy and violent nature. It is a well-known fact that impunity and violence can never win. And to every crime committed they’re consequences to be paid.

Time will tell!

Unpacking ZESCO’s Bloated Staff, Abuse of Authority & a Drain on National Resources

ZESCO MD EMPLOYS SON, DAUGHTER

Unpacking ZESCO’s Bloated Staff, Abuse of Authority & a Drain on Nationsl Resources.

By Daimone Siulapwa

As the dawn of a new month breaks upon us, it brings with it a double blow to the already burdened shoulders of Zambian citizens: the relentless surge in ZESCO tariffs and the merciless hike in fuel prices.

Added to that, we have an 8 hour daily load-shedding, which ZESCO even fails to follow thier own schedule, unless you are privileged to live in Sate lodge or New Kassma where they have zero load-shedding, thanks to the elite and politically connected

These dual assaults on the pockets of ordinary Zambians are not merely inconveniences; they are harbingers of dire consequences that threaten to further destabilize an already fragile socio-economic landscape.

The repercussions of these actions extend far beyond mere numbers on utility bills; they seep into the very fabric of Zambian society, casting shadows of uncertainty over the livelihoods of countless individuals and families.

With businesses forced to contend with soaring operational costs, the specter of job losses looms high on the horizon. As the economic squeeze tightens its grip, the shelves of our homes grow increasingly barren, echoing the cries of empty stomachs.

And in the darkness left by erratic load-shedding schedules, the seeds of desperation take root, fostering an environment ripe for the proliferation of crime.

Yet, amidst this cacophony of woes, one voice rises above the din, demanding accountability and transparency from the corridors of power.

It is the voice of the taxpayer, the voice of the citizen who foots the bill for the lavish lifestyles enjoyed by ZESCO’s bloated cadre of staff.

As the saga of ZESCO’s mismanagement unfolds, one name emerges as a recurring motif in the tapestry of nepotism and cronyism: Victor Mapani.

Amidst allegations of favoritism and familial patronage, Mapani’s tenure at the helm of ZESCO has come under intense scrutiny, laying bare a web of connections that reeks of impropriety and self-interest.

At the heart of this controversy lies the creation of deputy director positions within ZESCO—an ostensibly innocuous decision that has since morphed into a lightning rod for accusations of nepotism and favoritism.

The questions that loom large in the public consciousness are not merely speculative; they are rooted in concrete evidence of Mapani’s penchant for placing personal allegiances above the public good

It is a well-known fact that ZESCO’s staffing structure has long been plagued by inefficiency and excess.

When the promise of a new dawn by UPND swept through the halls of power, it was widely acknowledged that drastic measures were needed to streamline ZESCO’s operations and curb the hemorrhaging of public funds.

However, instead of embarking on a path of reform and efficiency, it appears that ZESCO’s management opted for a different approach—one shrouded in secrecy and opacity.

The creation of high-paying positions, such as deputy directors, raises serious questions about the motives and intentions of those at the helm of the power utility.

Why were these positions not subjected to the rigors of open competition and public advertising, as mandated by standard procedure?
Who authorized the creation of these roles, each accompanied by a hefty salary package that burdens the coffers of the taxpayer?

And perhaps most importantly, what purpose do these deputy directors serve, especially in light of the fact that their responsibilities overlap with those of senior managers who boast decades of experience?

Did the board approve the creation of these exorbitantly paying positions with each allegedly swallowing K100,000 plus per month? Why and for who?

The lack of transparency surrounding the appointment of many of these deputy directors only serves to deepen the suspicions of an already skeptical public.

Who are these individuals, handpicked for positions of power and influence within ZESCO’s hierarchy?

And why were internal candidates overlooked in favor of external appointments?

Furthermore, the proliferation of departmental heads raises further eyebrows.

Why, in a supposedly streamlined organizational structure, were these positions deemed necessary when existing senior managers were more than capable of fulfilling their duties?

These are not merely rhetorical questions posed to an indifferent audience; they are the rallying cry of a populace weary of half-truths and evasive statements.

As taxpayers, we demand—not mere platitudes—but concrete answers to these pressing concerns.

In the absence of transparency, trust erodes, leaving in its wake a gaping chasm between the governed and those who govern.

If ZESCO wishes to regain the confidence of the Zambian people, it must embrace accountability as more than just a buzzword; it must become a guiding principle that permeates every facet of its operations.

For too long, the veil of secrecy has shrouded the inner workings of ZESCO, shielding incompetence and malfeasance from the harsh light of public scrutiny.

It is time to cast aside the shadows of opacity and usher in a new era of transparency and accountability.

The path ahead is fraught with challenges, but it is also imbued with the promise of renewal and reform.

Let us seize this opportunity to demand better from those entrusted with the stewardship of our nation’s most vital resources.

Let us hold ZESCO accountable not only for the electricity it provides but also for the trust it has squandered.

The time for excuses has passed; the time for action is now.

Zambians deserve nothing less than a ZESCO that operates with the utmost integrity, efficiency, and transparency.

Anything less is a betrayal of the trust placed in it by the people it purportedly serves.

Zambia, a country where thieves are celebrated

GUEST ARTICLE: Zambia, a country where thieves are celebrated

It’s one thing to blame this government for the social and economic problems Zambians are going through but extremely infuriating to read the latest Auditor General’s report.

It is even more upsetting that those who caused us these problems can have the audacity to call out the government—the very government that is sorting out their mess.

Make me understand how US$13.3 million from the Eurobond given out as loans to SMEs has not been paid back.

According to the report, Zambia Railways received US$120 million of the Eurobond money but did not return US$3.6m for failed deliveries.

The government defaulted on amounts totaling US$830.6 million on Eurobond coupons comprising US$750 million in principal amounts and more than US$80 million in accumulated interest as at 31 December 2022.

Further, the audit report shows that one supplier was given US$70 million to supply uniforms valued at US$4.5 million to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In other words, the supplier’s ‘profit’ was a mind-blowing US$66.5 million!

How does a single company, honestly, get named in an audit involving a US$402 million contract whose interest was overpriced by US$60 million!

Any which way we look at it, do Zambians realize that while the previous regime indulged in all manner of improprieties, theft, and recklessness, ultimately, the people to pay the price are them?

So, when we complain about some of the country’s economic and social problems, we will do well to recall that they stem from this – the blatant theft of public resources for personal enrichment.

Do Zambians realize how much just a fraction of these amounts can do to change people’s lives in any part of this country?

I remember vividly how parties were thrown when Zambia contracted the Eurobond because of this remarkable achievement—an achievement celebrating nkongole or kaloba, if you like!

Yet in reality, Zambia found love – expensive love that we didn’t know what to do with. Soon, we started hearing stories about how, even after contracting this debt, we didn’t have a plan for the money we went to borrow.

Yes, we didn’t have a plan, and we started looking for any project to throw this money at, including loss-making ventures like Zambia Railways.

Then we were told that part of it was invested in ZESCO to end load shedding yet here we are today, grappling with crippling long hours of no electricity.

Unashamedly, the jackals that put us in this abyss with their potbellies want to come back and grab political power. To loot. And some Zambians who are feeling the pinch of the very problems these people put us in want the fools back.

But I blame the current government and our leaders too. They are proving to be toothless and are just talking heads. That is why thieves can have the audacity to do and say what they are doing and saying.

For all the jaw-dropping revelations in the Auditor General’s report, we will be angry today but move on tomorrow.

Tomorrow, we will forget about it like nothing happened while well-known thieves continue flaunting their wealth and properties like role models.

PRESIDENT HH REVISIT YOUR POLICIES PEOPLE ARE HUNGRY AND SUFFERING OUT THERE – Hon Saili Mavegie Phiri

PRESIDENT HH REVISIT YOUR POLICIES PEOPLE ARE HUNGRY AND SUFFERING OUT THERE.

By Hon Saili Mavegie Phiri

Voicing out does not mean that you hate the President or maybe wanting the UPND govt out of power, people come out because they are affected, there is hunger in a lot of Zambian families, life is becoming so unbalanced 😭😭 on many communities. The govt has the capacity to reduce this burden on the citizens, they have all what it takes to make policies favorable to the Zambian community at large and work on what is basically a hitting point to all factors affecting the prices of every basic need.

What these praise singers don’t realize is that people who are being praised enjoy decent meals in their homes, their children go to expensive schools and they have free fuel to run their movements. They dont feel the impact of fuel prices, mealie meal prices or fertilizer prices.

The truth is that we are dealing with a relaxed govt and we are a reason why this govt is relaxed, how can the government fail to relax when we are giving it unnecessary praise even on things that are suppose to be criticized on ?

Unlike our old political pastor, The Zambia shall be saved man, Dad Zambia will never be saved if you keep being a praise singer, We expect a little bit of positive criticism with guidance from you especially on clear things that you know that the govt is not doing well but on a sad note you have joined the people who are fueling the bitterness which is between the current head of state and the former, Zambia can only be saved through unity.

Am learning to respect Chellah Tukuta, He is coming out like a patriotic Zambian on issues surrounding Zambia’s interest.I know am one of those people who have been criticizing him but trust me the guy is coming out objectively on issues affecting the nation he praises where they deserve it and criticize were things are not going well, If alot of people can be like him Zambia would have a well balanced govt by now.

Am starting to like Chella tukuta, despite his unstable behavior on social media but he is so objective towards politics. You and i know that the escalating prices of mealie meal,Fuel and other basic commodities is mainly attributed to unfiltered govt policies. Your govt rushed in adhering to IMF policies without thinking of how such decisions would affect citizens. They rushed in removing subsidies without having a second plan.

Amb. Anthony Mukwita begs President Hichilema…to enrol some govt officials into diplomatic school

Amb. Mukwita begs President Hichilema

…to enrol some govt officials into diplomatic school

1st May 2024-Smart Eagles

Ambassador Anthony Mukwita has implored President Hakainde Hichilema to enrol some of his top government officials into diplomatic school so they can learn what language to use in mainstream media and in private.

The former diplomat turned author also urged public officials to desist from insulting the intelligence of Zambians when speaking on national issues such as ´food and sex´ in a program aired live on KBNTV.

This follows comments from nominated legislator Doreen Mwamba who has asked unemployed Zambian couples to stop having sex and impregnating their wives because it is a stress on government coffers.

“If Ms Mwamba had a little more education in public administration an international relation, she would have known that creating jobs, shelter and education is a prerequisite of a government in office it’s called a ´public good´ that must be delivered by government,” said Amb. Mukwita.

Mr. Mukwita added that, “it is different if unemployed Zambians were asking Ms Mwamba to pay for their DSTV or golf club membership because that would be a ´luxury good´. Having said that, “it is in insult on right thinking Zambians for Ms Mwamba to speak the way she did. This is crude language she can only use in a tavern with her friends not media that can be accessed by children”.

Ambassador Mukwita said the solution lies in President Hichilema having a special programm to educate some of his top officials to regulate the language they use in a public space.

He added that, if only Ms Mwamba had researched a little, she would have found a corelation between economic growth and population growth, she is discouraging.

Ambassador Mukwita said wealthy nation like China, India, the United States are wealthy largely because they have huge populations, China above 1.4 billion people, India about 1.5 billion people, USA above 300 million people and Nigeria about 250 million people.

“It’s a shame Ms Mwamba was not told about how huge populations compliment greater economic growth but its not too late because the President can have people like her educated in no time, so they know what to say in public space in future,” said Ambassador Mukwita
Top government officials in UPND have become infamous for saying or using language seen by observers as either inflammatory or disruptive on various fora.

Exploitation of Zambian People: A Blatant Act of Theft of K12 on fuel by the Hichilema Government-Kasonde Mwenda

Press Statement:

Exploitation of Zambian People: A Blatant Act of Theft of K12 on fuel by the Hichilema Government-Kasonde Mwenda C -EFF President

1st May 2024

As the President of the Economic Freedom Fighters-EFF and a staunch advocate for the rights and welfare of the Zambian people, it is with grave concern that we address the unconscionable actions of the Hakainde Hichilema government in their blatant exploitation and theft from the Zambian populace.

It is no secret that the international crude oil prices have plummeted significantly, with current rates standing at $87.25 U.S. dollars per barrel as of 1st May 2024, compared to $120 per barrel on the same day in 2022. Despite this substantial decrease, what we witness is not a reflection of global market trends but rather a calculated scheme orchestrated by those in power to line their pockets at the expense of the suffering masses.

In 2022, when the price of crude oil stood at $120 per barrel, the Zambian people were burdened with a petrol price of K24 per litre. However, in a shocking display of greed and exploitation, the current administration, hand in hand with the Energy Regulation Board (ERB), has shamelessly inflated the petrol price to a staggering K35.65 per litre, despite the reduced international rates.

This discrepancy amounts to daylight robbery, with each litre of petrol costing the Zambian people over K12 more than it should. This is not merely an oversight or a result of economic fluctuations; this is a deliberate act of theft orchestrated by those entrusted with the well-being of our nation.

We call upon the citizens of Zambia to rise against this egregious injustice and refuse to be complacent in the face of such blatant exploitation. The ruling UPND, complicit in these nefarious deeds, must be held accountable for their role in facilitating the government’s theft from the pockets of ordinary Zambians.

Therefore, we demand immediate action from the Hichilema government to reverse the petrol price to its rightful level, reflective of international market trends. Furthermore, we urge the implementation of subsidies to alleviate the burdens placed upon the shoulders of the Zambian people.

The Economic Freedom Fighters-EFF stands unwavering in our commitment to fighting for economic justice and the empowerment of all Zambians. We will not rest until the voices of the oppressed are heard, and those responsible for their suffering are held accountable.

Wherever we want to go our feet will take us there.

12 Strange things HH has done in April 2024 alone: As Bally Continues to make history

12 Strange things HH has done in April 2024 alone: As Bally Continues to make history

By Dr. Chris Zumani Zimba

1. “I see you are not happy because we don’t give you bags of money when we visit you like the PF did”, HH told off chiefs in Muchinga. This was unfair mockery and strange traditional insult from HH because giving gifts and presents to chiefs is a customary practice we all found on earth. Our stingy HH is now going against human heritage. Even Jesus Christ as a baby king in the Kraal received expensive royal gifts from wise men. Why is our president so stingy to share his mountain of wealth and money?

2. And why is he receiving material gifts, presents and cash himself at Community House from different visitors and partners? Why is he not stopping the wife from receiving donations, gifts and money like the K100,000 she received from our defunct Invest Trust Bank? Why is he spoiling Chief Mukuni and Chief Monze with expensive royal state luxuries but he is dangerously denying and maliciously starving chiefs from other regions?

3. HH is the first president to openly show stinginess (kaso, akaso) to traditional leaders and the citizens in this manner. In fact, President HH is not being honest on this issue. What he told the chiefs in Muchinga province is the total opposite of what he does when he is visiting palaces in Southern province. HH has special chiefs like chief Mukuni, senior chief Monze, etc who he generously gives and takes care of as his coated royal parents. But to other chiefs like those unlucky poor ones in Muchinga, HH merely starves financially by choice and cannot give them even his farm ‘mabisi’.

4. During the KK’s centenary celebrations in the same Muchinga province on 28th April, 2024, president HH shocked everyone when he lied that Super Ken told him that one day, he would become the president of Zambia. The truth is that, KK denounced HH as the only politician he feared because he was capable of dividing the country and destroying his “One Zambia, One Nation” legacy if he became president. The video interview is empirical evidence and there!

5. This April, President’s illegal auditor general, Dr Ron Mwambwa cooked and published a ‘false audit report’ merely to steer public anger and political malicious against previous governments. Most of the contents is incorrect and contradictory. By law, an auditor general must be between 46 and 60 years. HH’s auditor general is now 65 years old, so legally unfit and physically too old for the job. But HH is torturing Zambians with doctored audit reports coming from an illegal auditor general. Why is HH like this sure and from which planet did we carelessly get this president?

6. In his public address in Muchinga, HH further surprised everyone when he said “when I became president, I visited all the eight neighboring countries so that Zambia does not go to war with any”. HH was again shockingly lying because Zambia has never at any point been in a position of going to war with any neighboring country since 1964. His statement was brutally false and a big naked lie as usual. Where did voters fish a lier of this manner as our leader?

7. Since last month to this April, 2024, HH has repeatedly refused to subject the illegal sale of 51% shares in state owned Mopani copper mine to parliament as required by law. HH is strangely the first president to auction or sale one of the most valuable and profitable government mines without getting parliamentary approval since independence. Strange enough, even HH’s ministers of mines and finance respectively cannot clearly explain this slippery and dangerous deal Bally illegally imposed on Zambians.

8. In April, 2024, HH was strangely chased by bees on the Copperbelt. The same HH sold the Luanshya Roan mines in the 1990 as a government consultant and left hundreds of them workers depressed, sickly and dead. This month, the same HH had the rare courage to go and handover the same mine to a new investor who he illegally sold and angry bees invaded his rally. From a cultural standpoint, the Luanshya bees chasing HH will remain a historic symbol of Bally’s bad leadership and political disapproval!

9. April was loaded with HH forcing the BRE to invite him as Guest of Honour at the Kuomboka ceremony instead of Paramount Chief, Chitimukulu. When he noticed that the BRE could not be intimidated, it was shocking to see HH inviting himself as an ordinary citizen to attend the ceremony. Why did the president force himself to be where he was either unwanted or uninvited? This question is also historically strange!

10. At Kuomboka ceremony, it is strange that for the first time, a sitting president was shamefully treated as an outcast, a visible “personal non grata” before the BRE and the The Litunga. HH shockingly attended this Bulozi ceremony like a mere community civic leader by reducing the posture of Head of State and Government to the level of district commissioner or village induna. Very strange indeed and politically wrong!

11. Since 14th April, 2024, the UPND government has crookedly been celebrating the recovery of U$24m from former KCM liquidator, Milingo Lungu (not a relative of former President Edgar Lungu) and hiding many crucial details. Dr Sishuwa Sishuwa has asked President HH to clearly redeem his fingers and role from this U$24m deal. Was the deal cut to prevent Milingo Lungu from presenting evidence in form of recorded meetings with named State officials –before court and to protect the implicated officers? This question remains a huge shock before the nose of HH as long as it is suspiciously unanswered according to Sishuwa Sishuwa.

12. In April 2022, Milingo Lungu told the Constitutional Court that he had evidence of how he cut a deal to stop his prosecution with key State actors namely Principal Private Secretary to the President Bradford Machila, Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha, Solicitor General Marshal Muchende, Director of Public Prosecutions Lillian Fulata Siyunyi, Special Assistant to the President for Legal Affairs Christopher Mundia and Administrator General and Official Receiver Natasha Kalimukwa. As long as such crucial issues are not openly explained to Zambians, everything remains strange and citizens must continue to pray for king Nebuchadnezzar.

The list of strange things around HH’s leadership and government for the month of April alone are too many. On 16th April, 2024, HH’s respected lawyer and appointed Commissioner at Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), Dr. Henry Bwanga Mbushi SC openly submitted his resignation letter to the Republican President, an open protest and vote of no confidence in Bally’s fight against corruption. Dr. Mbushi’s resignation came on the day that HH’s Law Enforcement Agencies secretly released the tainted and controversial jet that was involved in the KK International Airport Gold Scandal. To date, everyone is shocked that HH has said nothing about any of the two. Because of time and space, we choose to end here for now!

After Gassing Acquittal, Zumani and Co-accused Seek Justice and Healing

After Gassing Acquittal, Zumani and Co-accused Seek Justice and Healing

….Plaintiffs Push for Compensation Amidst Emotional Toll….

In a story of resilience and determination, Dr Zumani Zimba and Portiphar Gwai, recently acquitted in the gassing case that shook the nation, are now fighting for justice of a different kind one that seeks to mend their broken lives and restore their dignity.

For Dr Zimba and Mr Gwai, the acquittal was a bittersweet victory. While they were relieved to be cleared of the charges that had haunted them, the scars of their ordeal ran deep. Now, as they embark on a legal battle for compensation, they’re confronting the emotional toll and financial ruin left in the wake of their wrongful prosecution and detention.

In exclusive heartfelt interviews, Dr Zimba after the wrongful incarceration, shared the anguish of being labeled a criminal and the toll it took on his family. “It wasn’t just me who suffered. My wife, my children we all felt the weight of those false accusations,” he said, his voice tinged with emotion.

The demand for over K200 million in compensation is about more than just money; it’s about seeking closure and rebuilding shattered lives. It includes provisions for lost income, the trauma endured, and the hefty legal fees accrued during their defense expenses that continue to burden them even after their acquittal.

According to the court documents Dr Zimba and Mr Gwai being “1st and 2nd Plaintiffs were without evidence maliciously arrested, charged, detained, imprisoned and prosecuted by the Defendants. And Payment of Zambian Kwacha Two Hundred Million (2MW200, 000,
000.00) being Compensation for maliciously arresting, charging; detaining, imprisoning and prosecuting the Plaintiffs by the Defendants”

But beyond the financial aspect, there’s a quest for justice for accountability and acknowledgment of the injustice they faced. They want those responsible to understand the pain they caused.

“It’s not just about us; it’s about ensuring this doesn’t happen to anyone else.”

Being a Political advisor to the former President their legal journey might be fraught with challenges, but when we look back to the months they were wrongfully imprisoned they remain undeterred. With each step forward, they’re reclaiming their dignity and challenging a system that failed them.

Their story serves as an important reminder of the human cost of injustice and the resilience of the human spirit. As they navigate the road ahead, their hope is not just for compensation, but for healing for themselves and for a nation grappling with the scars of its past.

This quest for justice also poses a significant political test for the UPND government, which has been under scrutiny for allegedly rewarding party members with substantial sums of money since coming into power.

As public attention shifts to this case, it will be a litmus test for the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and justice for all.

Will anyone be held responsible for current ‘artificial’ maize deficit?

Will anyone be held responsible for current ‘artificial’ maize deficit?

By ZBT correspondent
One major deficiency in the way public affairs are conducted in Zambia is that there is an embedded culture of inpunity and lack of accountability.

Meritocracy is only entertained when in opposition, but when in power, national leaders give in to all sorts of vices which lead to stagnation. This is clear in the way the country has ended up with a huge maize deficit.

After many predictions and warnings of an impending drought, the impact is well underway. The drought, it should be mentioned, was predicted in good time, but the general reaction to the available information, was lax at best.

As early as May 2023, the Famine Early Warning System (FEWS) issued an advisory on the expected conditions related to El Niño, including lower than expected rainfall for larger swaths of the country.

Significant for Zambia was that the impact centered around the most productive regions of the country, namely the Southern, Eastern, and Central Provinces. The official production deficit stands at 1.2 million metric tons of maize, reducing the total output for the production year to 1.7 million tons, grossly shy of the 2.9 million MT minimum total annual consumption required.

This makes for curious reading because despite adequate warning of an impending drought, we, as a country, still went ahead to export roughly 1 million tons of maize with a conservative estimated value of $350,000,000 (price assumed at $350/ton) USD.

A few months down the line, we are faced with the prospect of importing 650K tons of maize at a cost of $260,000,000. This is a damning indictment for the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Finance, and DMMU for their sheer lack of foresight.

Questions loom large on how we achieved the fantastic feat of exporting so much grain while our needs at the time and at present surpassed the need to export.

Despite the government relying on “hope” that the drought would not be as extensive as it is, the foundations for the current problems being experienced were laid in the 2022 announcement of national maize output. In 2022, the official national output for maize stood at 3.2 million MT – by most standards, an overestimate, with the real figure hovering around 2.7 million.

Carrying on with this number has meant there has been an inflated production figure which the drought has now exposed. The litmus test for the inaccuracy was the odd invocation of the Zambia National Services’ assignment to mill maize meal with the hope of affecting the prevailing price of mealie meal, admirable but amateurish at best because there was no disclosure as to where ZNS would procure its stock to keep the façade of cheap mealie meal (from FRA, of course! One would muse), but FRA has a long tradition of a mismatch between stocks on paper and physical stocks held.

This situation unfortunately makes the Ministry of Agric inept at reasonable planning and makes the DMMU culpable for not standing as an independent branch of government with the mandate to mitigate disasters and has been co-opted in parroting false production figures that have led us to the current situation.

The current administration has staked its credibility on being transparent, but the current handling of the drought presents a myriad of problems that need honest self-introspection – results of which, one hopes, would see the need for reliable information to be communicated; managing information is what has led us here.

From an economic standpoint, this compounds an already complicated economic situation in the country, with the national debt still front and centre and yet to be resolved. Managing the drought entails raising cash to procure stocks to cover the while rolling out the annual FISP program (± $400 million USD) – not an enviable position to be found in.

Let’s ask again, are we as a nation intellectually comfortable and honest by blaming all this on El nino and that the leaders and decision makers at the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food Reserve Agency – FRA should not take full responsibility for their failure to keep strategic food reserves?

5% Copper export increase while Kwacha depreciates – a reflection of failure to actualize export tracking framework – Expert

5% Copper export increase while Kwacha depreciates – a reflection of failure to actualize export tracking framework – Expert

Economist Yusuf Dodia says the latest Zamstatics report showing an increase of about 5 percent of copper export earnings is a clear reflection of Governments failure to actualize the export proceeds tracking framework.

The BOZ export tracking framework which came into effect on 1st January, 2024 requires that all exporters in Zambia open bank accounts with a bank or financial institution domiciled in Zambia and deposit all export proceeds to that account within a period of 90 days.

Speaking an in an exclusive interview with the Zambian Business Times (ZBT), Dodia said the country is being deprived of benefits from copper because if the Export Tracking Framework was properly implemented, the country would been realizing about $20 – 30 million dollars a day.

He said the purported increase of copper production would also be meaningless as long as the economy is not benefiting from the higher exports and remitting back of proceed to Zambia.

“This report is showing us our losses, currently the only thing the country is benefiting is mineral loyalty Taxes which is very small, the developments in the mining industry will remain unimpactful as long those export earnings are not coming to Zambia, we are just running an economy for the benefit of western investors,” he said.

He said the lack of actualizing the Export Tracking Framework has spilled over to the instability of the Kwacha and economy at large.

Dodia revealed that whilst 20 to 30 million dollars of copper leave the country everyday, there is no formidable steps being taken to harness the potential of the minerals.

“We are losing 20 to 30 million dollars, the increase in production maybe is 25 million dollars a day, it is just showing us that we need to improve or atleast the Bank of Zambia and Government must take steps to safeguard the economy,” He said.

The BOZ export proceeds tracking framework directive had brought renewed hope, with analysts and economists projecting that, if well implemented, the Kwacha may post further gains as this balance of payments monitoring tool is expected to bring more transparency and result in more export forex inflows into the country.

The BOZ export tracking framework among other things requires exporters to open and maintain a bank account with a bank or financial institution domiciled in Zambia and that an exporter shall deposit all proceeds of exports of goods and/or services into this account within ninety (90) days from the date of export.

All exporters in Zambia are required to complete and submit to Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), the customs export declaration.

And the banks or financial institutions that receive these export proceeds are required to make a return or report to BOZ through submission of money receipts and remittances report on the electronic Balance of payment (e-BoP) Monitoring System.

The directive has also prescribed adequate penalties for exporters or banks or financial institutions that fail to comply, which include revocation of their tax clearance certificate and TPIN.-Zambian Business Times

“I’ll smash him” – Rudiger warns Mbappe ahead of possible meet in Champions League final

Antonio Rudiger has made a bold declaration, stating his intent to confront Kylian Mbappe aggressively if Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain clash in the Champions League final.

The prospect of this epic encounter looms large, with Wembley potentially hosting the showdown on June 1.

For this scenario to materialize, Real Madrid must first navigate past Bayern Munich in the semi-finals, while Paris Saint-Germain must overcome Borussia Dortmund on the opposite side of the bracket.

What adds an extra layer of intrigue to this anticipated matchup is the possibility of Mbappe facing off against his rumored future club, as speculation swirls that the French striker is set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer once his contract with PSG expires on June 30.

But Rudiger is in no mood to show mercy to his potential team-mate if their paths cross and told Le Media Carre: “If we face him in the final, we’ll beat him. And if he passes [i.e. dribbles] me, I’ll smash him.”

Despite his tough stance on the field, the German defender welcomed the idea of the 2018 World Cup winner joining the Spanish giants. He noted that Real Madrid has a renowned history of attracting top talent.

“The best players in history have always come to Real Madrid. He’s one of the best players in the world, so it would be a good match,” he said.
When questioned about the reports of Mbappe’s imminent arrival, he added with a smirk: “Who says that he’s (Mbappe) coming, it’s not official.”

Rudiger will be in action against Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening in the first leg of Real’s semi-final tie at Allianz Arena, whereas Mbappe will take the pitch a day later against Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

The focus will shift to the possibility of a high-stakes encounter between the two players in the Champions League final on June 1 if both teams are able to overcome their German opponents at the last four stage of the competition.

HUBBY AXES WIFE, HER AUNT FOR REFUSING TO RETURN HOME WITH HIM

A SWEET visit from her separated husband turned bloody for a 34-year-old woman of Itezhi – Tezhi district in Southern province after she was axed together with her aunt after she refused to return home with him.

Yesterday afternoon, Morris Simwaanda, 36 of Masasabi farming block decided to visit his wife, whom he was on separation with for a month at her Aunts place and took some food stuffs for her and his children.

The couple had been on separation due to marital disputes, causing Mwiinga to leave her home with their four children to start staying with her Aunt.

And as he reached, he was welcomed by his four children and the Mother in-law (wife’s Aunt), Silva Muzyamba aged 56.

However, during his visitation, Simwaanda asked his wife if she could return back to their matrimonial home with him, but she refused and insisted she wanted to remain at her Aunt’s place.

For that reason, Simwaanda angrily waited for the night to come as he patiently waited for her wife’s aunt to retire to bed.

At 24:00 hours today, the sleeping aunt was awakened from her slumber by a loud scream of help, upon listening carefully, she discovered it was her niece’s voice that shouted from her hut and promptly, she ran to save her from whatever it was.

Alas! Upon reaching the entrance of her hut, she came across her in-law, Simwaanda who came out with an axe on his shoulder, with his face like an angry and satisfied lion, that just devoured a prey.

Not willing to leave behind a witness or have any hindrance to his freedom, Simwaanda immediately got his axe and axed the face of his Mother-in-law, leaving her two cheeks bleeding.

There after, he ran away.

Despite being hurt, Muzyamba noticed that her niece also had a cut on her head and was bleeding profusely. She then shouted for help from the neighborhood and some neighbours responded to her call for help, who even reported the matter to police.

Southern Province police commanding officer, Auxensio Daka confirmed the incident.

He said acting upon the report, police visited the scene and found Mwiinga lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut stretching across the rear part of her head.

Daka said Mwiinga and her Aunt who also sustained two cuts on her cheeks were both issued with Police medical report forms and immediately rushed to Itezhi- tezhi Hospital were they are currently admitted.

“Mwiinga is in a critical condition and is admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while her aunt who sustained mild cuts is substantially in a stable state,” said Daka.

Daka said a docket has since been opened for two counts of attempted to Murder.

No arrest has been made yet as the suspect is still at large.

Former policeman who filmed his wife having s333x with her superior found guilty of stalking

An obsessed former police officer who caught his wife having sex with a married colleague in a car park has narrowly avoided jail after being convicted of stalking.

Gavin Harper, 45, found Stephanie Glynn, 40, and her lover Andrew McLullich, 42, outside the hardware store in Birkenhead, Merseyside, UK on February 16, 2021, after secretly placing a tracker on his wife’s car.

He slowly crept up to the vehicle and used his mobile phone to record the lovers, who were naked from the waist down, before allegedly shouting: ‘I’ve got you on film sh***ing my wife.’

The dad-of-two was found guilty of aggravated stalking, including secretly bugging Ms Glynn’s car, listening to her conservations, tracking her movements and taking her phone without permission.

He was also accused of assaulting Mr McLullich, a Merseyside Police Inspector, but was cleared of injuring the officer at Liverpool Crown Court as he claimed he only struck the policeman in self-defence.

Prosecutors said it was Harper’s conviction was the end of the campaign of ‘obsessive, intrusive and unwanted behaviour’ against Ms Glynn from December 2020 to February 2021.

Harper and Ms Glynn met as Merseyside Police officers and were in a six-year relationship before they married in 2018 but she left the family home in December 2020 after she grew close to her work mentor Mr McLullich, an acting inspector at the time and formerly her supervising sergeant.

Giving evidence, Harper said he wanted ‘undeniable proof’ of the affair, which he said Ms Glynn had persistently denied.

His intention was to pass the video to police as evidence of two serving officers having an inappropriate relationship during pandemic lockdown restrictions, he said.

On Monday, Judge David Potter sentenced Harper to two years in jail, suspended for two years.

The judge told him he would have faced immediate custody but for the significant effect that imprisonment would have had on his elderly parents and youngest son

Harper’s lawyers told the court that he would lose his security job if jailed and would be unable to make his mortgage payments. His parents, whom he informally cared for, would ‘not be able to cope’ and his son would have to give up his university studies.

Judge Potter told Harper:

‘I am sure you became obsessed to the point of criminality in stalking Stephanie Glynn to provide evidence of her affair to weaponise that against her for having that affair, and you also became determined to destroy the career of Andrew McCulloch.

‘In that obsession the feelings, embarrassment and pain felt by Stephanie Glynn were collateral damage. You were more concerned about your own feelings and a raging sense of injustice.’

He said the events at Screwfix ‘do no credit to any of the people involved’ and the incident was ‘rash, foolish, selfish and unprofessional’.

Judge Potter went on:

‘I am sure it has haunted them (Ms Glynn and Mr McLullich) and will continue to haunt them for many years.’

But he said their acts were ‘made worse’ by Harper filming them on his mobile phone.

He said: ‘It was a further gross example of stalking designed to maximise their humiliation to your advantage. Your conduct was intended to maximise fear or distress.

‘You resorted to stalking out of a sense of vengeance for being the victim of an affair. I am sure the distress caused to your victim has been very serious.’

But he added that there was ‘another side’ to the defendant who had no previous convictions, and had suffered mental trauma himself.

Harper had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of his Army service in the King’s Regiment and the Royal Military Police – before he joined Merseyside Police in 2001.

Ex-NSA employee serving nearly 22 years in jail for disclosing secrete to an undercover FBI agent

A person who used to work for the US National Security Agency has been sentenced to almost 22 years in prison, as requested by the government after he sold secret information to someone he thought was a Russian official but was actually an undercover FBI agent.

The judge said he could have given Jareh Sebastian Dalke an even longer prison sentence, but chose to be merciful by giving a 262-month sentence. He believed Dalke deliberately took a job at the NSA to sell national security secrets.

“This was obvious. ” It was bold and I think it was done on purpose. Moore said it was like treason, a big betrayal.

Dalke’s lawyers requested that the Army veteran, who admitted to spying and made a deal with prosecutors, be given a 14-year prison sentence. They said this because the information he shared didn’t end up with the enemy and didn’t cause any harm. Public defender David Kraut said Dalke should get a lighter punishment because he had a brain injury, tried to kill himself four times, and had a rough childhood with domestic violence and drug abuse. Studies have found that experiencing certain traumas as a child makes it more likely for people to act recklessly in the future, he said.

Later, Dalke told Moore that he felt sorry and embarrassed. He also said that he had PTSD, bipolar disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder.

He said he wasn’t motivated by beliefs or money when he agreed to sell the secrets. Dalke thought he might be talking to the police, but he was still excited about what he was doing.

But Moore did not believe Dalke’s claims about his health because there were no expert opinions or hospital records provided by the defense.

Based on papers from the court, Dalke was at the NSA for about a month. He talked to an undercover FBI agent and said he wanted to “cause change” because he was worried about the United States causing harm to the world. He also mentioned that he owed $237,000. He apparently said he chose to work with Russia because his ancestors were from there.

Dalke first got $16,499 in digital money for parts of the documents he had. Then he wanted to sell the rest of the information for $85,000.

The agent told him to go to the Denver train station on Sept. 1stOn March 28, 2022, send the papers using a safe online link within a four-hour time frame. Dalke came with his laptop and used the Wi-Fi to send a thank you letter in Russian. In the letter, he said he was looking forward to being friends and working together, as agreed in the plea deal. Shortly after he used his laptop to move all the files, FBI agents took him into custody.

As per the charges, Dalke tried to share information with Russia about the military strength of another country. It also has details about important US defense abilities, some of which are related to the foreign country.

Premier League panel discovers only one VAR fault during Forest, Everton clash

Independent Key Match Incidents Panel of the Premier League has determined that out of three incidents Nottingham Forest raised concerns about after their contentious 2-0 loss to Everton on April 21, only one was deemed a VAR error.

Forest expressed dissatisfaction with several penalty decisions that went against them, raising doubts about the integrity of VAR referee Stuart Attwell, who supports Luton Town—a team then embroiled in a relegation battle with Forest and Everton.

“Three extremely poor decisions — three penalties not given — which we simply cannot accept,” the club wrote on Twitter. “We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times. NFFC will now consider its options.”

The Football Association (FA) is currently investigating a tweet by Forest, along with comments made by manager Nuno Espirito Santo and defender Neco Williams.

Additionally, former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg, now employed by Forest as a consultant, has been asked to clarify statements made in a newspaper article regarding officiating.

However, according to the panel’s findings, which have been reviewed by ESPN, it was unanimously determined that a penalty claim for a foul by Ashley Young on Giovanni Reyna, as well as a subsequent handball by Young, were unfounded and should not have prompted VAR intervention.

Nevertheless, the panel did unanimously agree that Young should have been penalized with a spot kick for bringing down Callum Hudson-Odoi inside the penalty area during the second half.

The panel had a split 3-2 vote regarding referee Anthony Taylor’s decision not to award a handball against Young in the 44th minute, but unanimously voted 5-0 against a VAR intervention.

It was deemed “a very subjective call,” with Young’s arm outstretched and blocking a cross from close proximity, though his arm position was deemed justifiable.

However, in the case of the foul on Hudson-Odoi in the 55th minute, it was concluded that “Young inherited the risk by going to ground from the wrong side, and Hudson-Odoi beat him to the ball. It is a foul.”

Comprising three former players and/or coaches, along with one representative each from the Premier League and PGMOL, the panel was established at the beginning of last season to provide an independent assessment of decision-making, aiming to offer an impartial evaluation of major match incidents without relying solely on the views of PGMOL or the clubs themselves.

Bishop who was repeatedly stabbed while preaching returns to the pulpit with an eye patch weeks after the attack

The Bishop who was stabbed in an attack on the Christ the Good Shepherd Church in western Sydney has delivered a fiery sermon on his return to the pulpit.

Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was attacked on April 15 while he was preaching to his members and a video of the attack went viral (video).

Two weeks after the attack, the Bishop returned to the pulpit carrying a gold cross and sporting a white eye patch.

Speaking from the pulpit, he said he could not “fathom” how freedom of speech could not be possible in a democratic country.

“I say to our beloved, the Australian government, and our beloved Prime Minister, the honourable Mr Albanese, I believe in one thing and that is the integrity and the identity of the human being,” he said.

“This human identity, this human integrity, is a God-given gift, no one else.

“Every human being has the right to their freedom of speech and freedom of religion.”

He said Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Atheists had the right to express their beliefs.

“Also the Christians have the right to express their beliefs, and for us to say, that free speech is dangerous, that free speech cannot be possible in a democratic country, I’m yet to fathom this. I’m yet to fathom this. We should be able as civilised human beings, as intellectuals, we should be able to criticise, to speak, and maybe, at some certain times, we may sound, or we may come across offensive to some degree, but we should be able to say, ‘I should not worry for my life to be exposed to threat or to be taken away’.

“A non Christian can criticise my faith, can attack my faith. I will say one thing, ‘may God forgive you, and may God bless you.

“This is a civilised way, an intellectual way, to approaching such events.

“But for us, to say that because of this freedom of speech, it is causing dramas and dilemmas, therefore everything should be censored, then where is democracy?

“Then where is humanity, where is integrity, where are the morals, where are the ethics, where are the principles, where are the values which the Western world, more so, have been fighting for human rights, which is the value of the human.”

A debate around the proper limits of free expression has erupted in the country in the wake of the Wakeley terror attack.

A 16-year-old boy stabbed the bishop while he was giving a live-streamed sermon, with video of the violence quickly spreading online.

Australian eSafety commissioner Julie Inman Grant has ordered social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to take down certain posts commenting on the attack.

AI will make safer brain surgery possible in two years – Brain surgeon

A top brain doctor has said that using artificial intelligence for brain surgery could be done in two years. This would make the surgery safer and better. New surgeons in training are using the latest technology to learn how to do more accurate brain surgery through small incisions. Created at University College London, it shows small tumors and important parts like blood vessels in the middle of the brain. The government thinks it could make a big difference for healthcare in the UK.

Important buildings or formations.

Performing brain surgery requires a lot of care and attention – a small mistake could cause the patient to die right away. American Airlines flight attendant charged in attempt to record teen girl in airplane bathroom after recording other girls

An American Airlines flight attendant was indicted Thursday, April 25, after authorities said he tried to secretly record video of a 14-year-old girl using an airplane bathroom last September.

Police have also alleged that Estes Carter Thompson III, 36, of Charlotte, North Carolina, had recordings of four other girls using the toilet on an aircraft where he worked.

Thompson was indicted on one count of attempted sexual exploitation of children and one count of possession of images of child sexual abuse depicting a prepubescent minor.

Thompson was charged and arrested in January 2024 in Lynchburg, Virginia. He has been in federal custody since.

A lawyer for Thompson said after the indictment by a federal grand jury that he was unable to comment.

Investigators said that about midway through a Sept. 2, 2023, flight from Charlotte to Boston, the 14-year-old got up to use the main cabin lavatory nearest to her seat but found it was occupied.

Thompson then told her the first-class lavatory was unoccupied and escorted her there, investigators said.

Before she entered the bathroom, Thompson allegedly told her he needed to wash his hands and that the toilet seat was broken, they said.

After he left, the teen entered the bathroom and she saw red stickers on the underside of the toilet seat lid, which was in the open position, officials said. Beneath the stickers, Thompson had concealed his iPhone to record a video, investigators said.

The girl used her phone to take a picture of the stickers and concealed iPhone before leaving.

Prosecutors also allege hundreds of images of child sexual abuse generated through artificial intelligence were found stored on Thompson’s iCloud account.

A search of Thompson’s iCloud account revealed four additional instances between January and August 2023 in which Thompson recorded a minor using the lavatory on an aircraft, according to investigators. Those depicted in the recordings were 7, 9, 11 and 14 years old at the time, they said.

Their families have been contacted by police, investigators said.

Attempted sexual exploitation of children carries a sentence of 15-30 years in prison, while possessing images of sexual abuse of a prepubescent minor can mean up to 20 years in prison.

Both charges also provide for at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, a fine of up to $250,000 and restitution.

American Airlines previously issued a statement saying the flight attendant was “immediately withheld from service” and hasn’t worked since the phone was discovered.

Benjamin Mendy has bankruptcy case dismissed a year after he was cleared of rape and sexual assault

Former Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy has had his High Court bankruptcy case dismissed after he paid a £700,000 tax bill by selling off his Cheshire mansion where he held lockdown parties with girls.

Former Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy has had his High Court bankruptcy case dismissed after he paid a £700,000 tax bill by selling off his Cheshire mansion where he held lockdown parties with girls.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) had sought a bankruptcy order against the former Manchester City footballer over the bill.

At a hearing on Monday before a specialist insolvency judge, lawyers for the French defender said the outstanding sum of just under £710,000 had been paid.

Louis Doyle KC, for the footballer, said proceedings had been previously adjourned to allow for Mr Mendy’s sprawling mansion near Macclesfield, Cheshire, to be sold.

The court heard the sum had not yet reached HMRC, but after receiving undertakings from lawyers, Chief Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Nicholas Briggs dismissed the bankruptcy proceedings against Mr Mendy.

Judge Briggs said: ‘In the circumstances, there is nothing left in this petition… I shall accept the undertaking.

‘I shall dismiss the petition with costs.’

Mr Doyle said in response: ‘That order marks the end of these proceedings.’

‘That’s correct,’ Judge Briggs replied.

Earlier on Monday, the High Court in London was told that Mr Mendy, 29, owes less than £5,000 in council tax to Cheshire East Council.

However, Mr. Doyle said he was confident the debt would be paid promptly, adding that Mr Mendy ‘won’t have picked up post and won’t have realised he’s in debt to the borough council’ as he has been away from the property.

At a hearing in February, the court heard that Mr Mendy was bringing legal action against his former club for £10million after Manchester City stopped paying him when he was charged with rape in 2021.

The footballer was cleared of six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault in January 2023 after a trial at Chester Crown Court.

He was then cleared of one more count of rape and attempted rape in July after a retrial at the same court.

The trial heard Mendy, who joined City in 2017, had a hard-partying lifestyle, clubbing two or three times a week as well as inviting numerous young women to his home and frequently having sex with more than one on the same night.

His lifestyle was an open secret among colleagues.

Some of the parties which led to the offences Mendy was charged with took place while he was being treated for a knee injury between October and November 2020 and in breach of  pandemic rules which were then in place.

Giving evidence in court, Mendy – who spent time in prison on remand after being charged – said: ‘I was enjoying the house, I was enjoying the women.’

Mr. Doyle told the short hearing that Mr. Mendy did not previously have the money immediately available to pay the tax debt, adding that his salary for French club Lorient is ‘about one-tenth’ of his previous wage.

Mr. Mendy had originally put his property up for sale for £5million but was forced to slash the price by £750,00 in a desperate bid to sell up and pay HMRC.

CHRIS ZUMANI SAYS, SUNDAY CHANDA IS A SNAKE, HH WILL CRY

“Sunday Chanda was eating at State House every week when Edgar Lungu was Republican President. Chanda warmed himself as a spoiled adopted son of the Lungus at Nkwanzi where he adorned himself so close to madam Esther Lungu, Chawama lawmaker, Tasila Lungu and all key staff of the president.

I was equally close to him as Political Advisor to ECL because he was already my friend too. For me, Sunday Chanda became part of extended family as far back as 2017. President Lungu dearly loved Sunday Chanda as PF Media Director and treated him as his own son.

With guidance from ECL, all of us treated Sunday as part of the LUNGU’s inner circle from a party point of view: he was highly privileged. Apart from sacrificing a high respected civil servant, former police IG in Hon. Malama to adopt Sunday Chanda on PF ticket in Kanchibiya, President Lungu used his own resources and networks at his disposal to finance and support Sunday Chanda to become a parliamentarian in 2021. I know everything as political programs and campaign activities were under my desk. Chanda ate the best cake in PF.

Shockingly, today, brother Sunday Chanda takes Edgar Lungu for unwanted political asylum seeker who he does not want to mention or associate with anywhere because ECL lost power. Today, Sunday is crawling for something at Community House on HH’s table and presenting himself as Bally’s step son for CDF. This Sunday Chanda even had satanic courage to openly campaign for the UPND in the recent local government by elections in his constituency in the name of HH’s CDF when this is the man who vehemently opposed Bally and called him all demonic names during the PF era.

Many times, I am lost with words to describe our brother because his political behavior is not different from the snake of the garden of Eden. He is a big traitor and shamefully treacherous. Well, HH is fooling himself by playing with snakes like our brother. HH will be bitten big and ‘killed’ in 2026 by the same snakes he is carelessly dancing with at Community House-Sunday Chanda is one of these snakes. If he betrayed Lungu who made him reach where he is today, what more our stingy HH who is just throwing empty promises on him?

B. conclusion

Snakes can never befriend man perpetually, they just pretend to be cool as long as they’re warm and comfortable. But trust me, snakes soon betray, strike and sometimes kill their own host with their inherit poison: HH must wait for 2026. If HH thinks he is a big snake of our politics specialized in mingalato’, he is fooling himself because he now faces bigger and better deadly pythons: he will be nicely swallowed and chewed into pieces! In 2026, Bally will be fixed by voters and his Anaconda snakes will eat him alive and vanish to their new host”

Dr. Mwambwa is a Danger to the National Audit Office- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

Dr. Mwambwa is a Danger to the National Audit Office

By Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

The Constitution provides that the Auditor General must be among other things, aged between 46 and 60 years because of the nature of the work, experience required, qualifications, and stature of the office.

Dr. Ron Mwambwa is aged 65 years and is not, therefore, qualified to hold that position.

For this reason, his appointment by President Hichilema and the eventual nomination for parliamentary ratification, was quietly withdrawn.

But President Hichilema has illegally kept the Auditor General in office.

This is to clearly help his agenda of suppressing key issues that should expose theft and abuse of public resources and then pick issues that weaponise his fight against the former ruling party, the Patriotic Front.

Dr. Mwambwa stay at the National Audit Office is therefore illegal. President Hichilema has not bothered to show urgency to seek a replacement.

Take, for example, the Special Audit Report on External on External Public Debt.

The matters the Auditor General has raised were comprehensively dealt with at the Public Accounts Committee.

Both the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Education officials and witnesses, appeared before the Committee to answer to the audit concerns.

Further, the House adopted recommendations that should be dealt with.

However, the Auditor General has proceeded to rehash the same facts on the same matters and purports to call the outcome report as a special audit.

The legitimacy of this report is absent as any public audit done by the Auditor General must be presented before Parliament.

Does it mean that Parliament will be forced and subjected to handle these matters twice?

Utter illegalities.

Look at the audit case of US$340 million for a greenfield brand new international airport.

The Auditor General purports that these funds are missing and no airport was ever constructed.

I guess he has never heard of the Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport.

He also has never heard of the Ndola Airport that was transformed into the Peter Zuze Airforce Base?

Since President Hichilema is determined to keep Dr. Mwambwa, it incumbent upon himself as for.er professional to tender a resignation to save his remaining integrity, and pave way for a legitimate constitutional office-holder.

Victor Mapani’s Shameless Reign of Nepotism at ZESCO Continues

Victor Mapani’s Shameless Reign of Nepotism at ZESCO Continues

By Daimone Siulapwa

As discontent brews within the ranks of ZESCO employees, the revelations of rampant nepotism within the organization have sent shockwaves through the corridors of power.

More shocking revelations now expose the extent to which the nepotism rot has reached and at the heart of this rot stands Victor Mapani, the Managing Director, whose shameless alleged gross nepotism has transformed the company into a family affair.

The audacity of Mapani’s nepotistic maneuvers is staggering.

Firstly, elevating himself from MO1 to MO0 smacks of arrogance and entitlement, while simultaneously demoting the principles of meritocracy and fairness to mere footnotes in ZESCO’s history.

But it is not just Mapani who has embraced this culture of favoritism; his kin have also found their way into the ZESCO fold.

His daughter, Beenzu Mapani, just recently enjoyed a swift ascent from ML6 to ML5, translating into a gross salary of around K38,000 per month, courtesy of her father’s influence.

Meanwhile, Makoye Mapani, his son, has been employed in the position of Principal Engineer at Kafue Gorge Lower, entering at a higher grade of ML5 while many senior engineers with over 10 years experience still languish at ML6 and they now report to him.

The nepotism web extends further, allegedly ensnaring Mapani’s sister in the call center, a niece in the ESU, and to add insult to injury, his sister-in-law conveniently assumes the mantle of Director of Finance.

This cronyism is a slap in the face to every hardworking ZESCO employee who dreams of advancement based on merit, not familial connections.

But Mapani’s nepotism knows no bounds; he has also welcomed a cadre of cronies into the fold, appointing them to lucrative positions at the expense of more qualified candidates.

The new positions of department heads and Deputy Directors were non existent at ZESCO but were created specifically for friends and family members (story for another day)

The stench of corruption hangs heavy in the air as ZESCO becomes a breeding ground for incompetence and cronyism.

The time for complacency is over. As patriotic citizens, we demand action.

Mapani must be held to account for his egregious abuse of power, and the board of ZESCO must act swiftly and decisively to root out the cancer of nepotism that threatens to consume this institution from within, unless they are partaking in the forbidden fruit.

We call upon the board to demand for Mapani to immediately step-down pending a thorough investigation into his nepotistic practices.

The people of Zambia deserve better than this flagrant betrayal of trust.

It is time to reclaim ZESCO as a beacon of integrity and meritocracy, where hard work and dedication are rewarded, not sidelined in favor of nepotistic cronyism.

The fear and intimidation tactics employed to silence dissent within ZESCO’s ranks are reprehensible.

No employee should live in fear of retribution for speaking out against injustice.

It is time for the voices of the silenced to be heard, for the truth to be brought to light, and for justice to prevail.

Let this be a rallying cry for change. Let us stand united against the scourge of nepotism, for the sake of ZESCO, for the sake of Zambia, and for the sake of future generations who deserve a fair and just society. The time for action is now.

Drought-stricken Zambia turns to Uganda for 500,000 metric tonnes of maize

Lusaka banned the exports of maize grain and flour in February, following a prolonged dry spell that has adversely impacted the production of the crop in 84 out of the country’s 116 districts

Zambia is in talks with Uganda for a possible supply of more than 500,000 metric tonnes of maize to replenish its depleted reserves that have exposed more than two million people to starvation.

Lusaka banned the exports of maize grain and mealie (maize flour) in February following a prolonged dry spell that has adversely impacted the production of the crop in 84 out of its 116 districts.

Uganda’s Ministry of Agriculture, Animal, Industry and Fisheries says through a correspondence seen by The EastAfrican that Kampala has received a request to supply up to 500,000 metric tonnes of the grain to Lusaka.

“The Government of Uganda has received an expression of interest for up to 500,000 MT of maize grain to be exported to Zambia. This has certain requirements including quality and available volumes to enable us to meet the export successfully,” the ministry’s Permanent Secretary David Kasura-Kyomukama says through a letter dated March 25, 2024.

“The purpose of this letter is to invite you to a stakeholders meeting to discuss the process and requirements for this opportunity.”
Zambia’s vulnerability assessment report (2023) projects over two million people to be food insecure spanning the period October 2023 to March 2024.

Zambia, the second largest maize producing nation in Southern Africa after South Africa, declared drought a national disaster in February and introduced a state of emergency.

This has put pressure on South Africa to supply its neighbouring countries with maize even when its own prospects do not look promising, according to the South African-based agricultural services firm AFGRI.

Last year Zambia turned down a proposal to supply maize grain to Kenya even as Kenya’s Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi hinted that a memorandum of understanding had been signed, contracting Zambian farmers to grow maize exclusively for the Kenyan market.

Historically, Kenya has sourced most of its imported maize from Tanzania, however, traders have had difficulty exporting the grain from Tanzania following the implementation of new export procedures by the Tanzanian Authorities.

As a result, Kenya traders started sourcing more of the grain from non-traditional sources such as Zambia and South Africa.

According to the US Department for Agriculture (USDA), Kenyan traders imported maize from Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda and South Africa in 2023 but imports from Tanzania declined as a result of the imposition of export restrictions by the Tanzania authorities.
Kenya’s maize imports from Tanzania contracted to 63 percent of the total maize imports in the 2022/2023 marketing year from 97 percent in 2021/2022 marketing year, while that from Zambia and South Africa increased to 13 percent and 10 percent from one percent and 0.38 percent respectively.

On the other hand imports from Zambia increased by more than eightfold to 88,050 tonnes from 10,728 tonnes, while imports from South Africa increased by 2,218.94 percent to 64,513 tonnes from 2,782 tonnes.

According to Zambia’s Food Security Cluster Joint Rapid Assessment Report (March 2024) drought has affected food availability in the country leading to significant shortages of key food commodities in the local market.

Smallholder farmers account for more than 90 percent of maize production in Zambia.

As a landlocked country, Zambia usually focuses on other Southern African countries for maize exports, with the government assuring traders of an open border policy that will give traders an opportunity to export maize into the region. However, in April 2023 the Zambian government announced that it would no longer allow maize exports in the MY 2023/24, following tight stock levels of below 500,000 MT, though the government said it was a temporary change in policy to ensure Zambia stays food secure.

According to USDA, Zambia’s prohibition of corn exports is mostly affecting the southern provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which depend heavily on Zambia for corn as a staple food.
In 2019, Zambia signed a memorandum of understanding with the DRC to provide annual maize exports. The agreement aimed to deter informal trade flows and promote formalized maize exports to the DRC.

Zambia’s production of maize for grain was projected at 3.26 million metric tonnes (Mt) in the 2022/2023 agricultural season representing a 23 percent increase from 2.65 million produced in the 2021/2022 agricultural season, but this output still remains low compared to the five-year average.

The Zambian economy has been facing significant macroeconomic challenges as reflected in low growth, high fiscal deficits, rising inflation and debt service obligations as well as low international reserves.

“Zambia is experiencing a serious humanitarian crisis resulting from climate change making weather patterns more extreme, with more frequent droughts, floods, and heat waves,” the report says.

“These disaster risks are affecting Zambia’s poorest communities, especially in rural areas who rely on rain-fed agriculture.”

Such extreme weather events are impacting the productivity of the agriculture sector which is driving deterioration in food and nutrition security with increasing severity and prevalence of food insecurity.

Currently, the country is facing prolonged dry spells and drought caused by El Niño affecting most of its districts.

Dr.Chitalu Chilufya to run for PF Presidency

0

Former Minister of Health Dr Chitalu Chilufya has announced his intention to run for PF Party President. “I intend to stand as a candidate for Party President at the Congress,” Dr.Chilufya said. He further refused to endorse Edgar Lungu as current pf president or the UKA Alliance.

Dr. Chitalu Chilufya was appointed as Minister of Health by the President Edgar Chagwa Lungu in September, 2016 a position he served up to 2020 before he then appointed for a brief period as Minister of Agriculture.

Previously he served as the Deputy Minister of Health between 2014 and 2016

Dr. Chitalu is a graduate of the University of Zambia, School of Medicine. Prior to joining politics, he worked at various levels of management in the health sector mostly in the rural areas of Zambia. He is currently the elected Member of Parliament for Mansa Central Constituency since 2013 in the Northern part of Zambia.

In February 2023 the Lusaka magistrate court freed Dr. Chitalu Chilufya and seven others in a case where they were accused of conspiracy to defraud the state in connection with the HoneyBee drugs supply case. The accused were alleged to have conspired to defraud the government out of over US$17 million.

The case had attracted significant attention in Zambia, with many closely following developments and waiting for the outcome. The other accused in the case included former Attorney General Likando Kalaluka, former Ministry of Health permanent secretary Caroline Kakulubelwa, and procurement officer Wilson Lungu. The case also involved Honeybee Pharmacy Limited directors Abdurrauf Motala, Zakir Motala, and Imran Lunat, as well as pharmacist Emmanuel Mubanga.

When the matter came up for a trial, the prosecution team made an application to discontinue the matter pursuant to section 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The court subsequently discharged all of the accused persons.

The decision to discontinue the case was significant, as it represented a victory for Dr. Chilufya and the others accused. The allegations against them were serious, and the possibility of a lengthy prison sentence was a real concern. The decision to withdraw the charges was welcomed by many, particularly those who have supported Dr. Chilufya.

MWALITETA QUESTIONS OPPOSITION SILENCE OVER FINANCIAL SCANDALS

MWALITETA QUESTIONS OPPOSITION SILENCE OVER FINANCIAL SCANDALS

He writes:

Why is the opposition silent over financial scandals?

Lusaka-IS the opposition telling Zambians that it is perfectly in order to steal State financial resources without any consequences?

We know that silence gives consent and this appears to be the case with Edgar Lungu and his cronies in the UKA over public funds and property which are being forfeited to the State.

Surely, the deafening silence from Edgar Lungu and his cronies in the opposition political parties over the US$24 million Milingo Lungu scandal is a betrayal to the Zambian people.

We all know that Lungu’s forfeiture of US$24 million he dubiously benefited himself as a Provisional Liguidator at Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) is financial crime that should concern any political organization, especially Edgar Lungu who grabbed Konkola Copper Mine from investors.

If Lungu was not aware of the theft and abuse of these public resources he would have been fuming with anger against the culprits following the revelations.

It is no brainer that our colleagues in the opposition in this country shall look the other way when their finance support base is threatened by government actions.

Edgar Lungu and his cronies don’t exist at the moment to protect the interests of this country but their interests even if it hurts the citizens.
The outspoken political leaders such as Edith Nawakwi, Sean Tembo, Harry Kalaba, Saboi Imboela and others are also silent, perhaps because they are third party beneficiaries of the looted funds under former president Edgar Lungu’s government.

It is common knowledge that Edgar Lungu is a grand sponsor of the activities of United Kwacha Alliance (UKA). This situation is compromising the very essence of the opposition providing checks and balances while ensuring that public resources are protected.

But Zambians are assured that the United Party for National Development (UPND) government is determined to recover all stolen assets without any exception because they belong to the people.
If one individual can misappropriate $24 million, what of the inner cycle of Edgar Lungu during his reign?

Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, let’s discuss stolen money and free yourself of the burden hovering over your head.

Dr. Frederick Jacob Titus Chiluba.

By Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

Zambia’s Second President, Dr. Frederick Chiluba had his life standing in the shadows of the founding President, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda.

He was second President after Kaunda’s tenure.

In 1981, as leader of the Zambia Congress of Trade Union(ZCTU), Chiluba and several leaders in the Union were detained for calling for a nation-wide strike that paralyzed the economy.

President Kaunda detained Chiluba and others for over 8months.
Chiluba became the spearhead for multiparty democracy and his now remembered as father of Democracy.

But this is eclipsed by Kaunda’s stature as Africa’s foremost statesman and pan-African liberator.

When Chiluba became President, he locked up Dr. Kaunda on allegations that he was part of the mastermind of the 1997 Captain Solo Coup Detat attempt.

The veracity of the claims of Kaunda’s involvement in the Coup were never tested in court as a nolle prosequi, was entered in the case.

Many commentators and analysts held that this imprisonment was probably revenge for Chiluba’s detention without trial in 1981.

These are reflections for another day.

It’s Dr. Chiluba’s birthday today. He would have turned 81years old.

He was born on 30th April, 1943.

His birthday was always a quiet affair. Especially that it followed a very public holiday of his predecessor.

Dr. Chiluba usually joked that KK loved to “steal” public lime-light away from him.

He would joke that, for example, his birthday overshadowed the commemoration of the tragedy the loss of the national team in the Gabon disaster that also falls on 28th April.

I think Dr. Chiluba was right.

Look at this.

Dr. Kaunda died on 17th June! Dr. Chiluba died on 18th June.

So it will be that the commemoration of Dr. Kaunda’s Memorial will always steal the limelight from Dr.Chiluba’s Memorial which falls on the next day.

Coincidences?

I owe Dr. Chiluba a book. I sat with him nearly everyday for ten years.

He would joke during his most perilous and lonely days that occurred between 2002 and 2008; ” Besides my God, it is my wife, John (Sangwa) and Robert ( Simeza)(his lawyers), and Dr. Justin Kangwa (his medical doctor) and you “Manweli” that have been there”.

I have various drafts of his book but I haven’t come around to complete and solidify into one..

It was a difficult and lonely period, as his friends and colleagues had deserted him.

During this time, President Levy Mwanawasa had raised strong corruption allegations against him.

This adversely affected my work as his Official Spokesperson.

There were times I returned from radio or TV appearances, where I was fighting the public tide and perceptions against his him and his legacy, but he would encourage me; “If God is with us, dont worry Manueli, we are always in the majority”.

This I think was drawn from Romans 8;13 “If God is for us, who can be against us….who shall bring a charge against God’s elect?”

May Zambia remember Dr. Chiluba’s legacy, his sacrifices, may Zambia remember his fight for a better Zambia.

May Zambia remember his quest to unite and develop the country.

May Zambia erect public and standing stones in the rememberance of his devotion to Zambia.

We name everything significant after other Presidents except Frederick Chiluba, the father of Zambia’s Democracy!

Happy Birthday Mr. President.

HH ALEYA! NO MATTER WHAT, BAKALILA SAYS M’MEMBE

Leader of the Opposition Socialist Party, Fred M’membe says the writing is on the wall, President Hakainde Hichilema (HH) is going come 2026.

Dr. M’membe says stage managed crowds assembled from across the country during Hichilema’s rallies is deception which will not save him.

Speaking Hichilema’s rallies the latest being in M’membe”s village in Chinsali where UPND organized hundreds of people to welcome President Hichilema, Dr M’membe said this will not save Hichilema.

“We know Mr Hichilema is doing all this with the hope of redeeming his dwindling political fortunes, but it’s too little too late,” Dr M’membe said. “He is gone. Aleya! No matter how much they deceive themselves with hired crowds, transported from distant places to make numbers for their political rallies, the people are decided already. Their actions will soon catch up with them. We have seen such things happen before in our country. Bakalila!”

The Socialist Party leader Journalist turned politician stated this in an article seen by Zambian Eye.

HICHILEMA HOLDING RALLIES

Mr Hakainde Hichilema’s selfishness and desperation is frightening.

He has been holding political rallies all over the country, but he is not willing to see opposition political leaders do the same.

Whenever the opposition political leaders show interest to hold a political rally, Mr Hichilema unleashes the police on them. This is the sham democracy Mr Hichilema is promoting in Zambia today. This is the democracy that he wants us all to accept. But it won’t happen.

It is evident that Mr Hichilema is concerned excessively or exclusively with himself: seeking or concentrating on his own political advantage without regard for others. What type of human being is he?
What type of political leadership is this? And for how long will this be tolerated by the people?

Has Mr Hichilema ever heard of The Golden Rule, which guides people to choose for others what they would choose for themselves – ‘putting yourself in someone’s shoes’ or ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’?

We know Mr Hichilema is doing all this with the hope of redeeming his dwindling political fortunes, but it’s too little too late. He is gone. Aleya! No matter how much they deceive themselves with hired crowds, transported from distant places to make numbers for their political rallies, the people are decided already. Their actions will soon catch up with them. We have seen such things happen before in our country. Bakalila!

In fact, the more Mr Hichilema talks and acts in this manner, the more he exposes himself to the ordinary Zambian voters. Right now, people are quiet and watching him pretend, lie, and act in a way that reveals more about his true character and intentions, after which, they’ll place him where he belongs.

LUSAKA WOMAN THREATENS TO STRIKE CHEATING HUBBY WITH LIGHTENING

LUSAKA WOMAN THREATENS TO STRIKE CHEATING HUBBY WITH LIGHTENING

A MAN of Lusaka has fled his matrimonial home, abandoning his 19-year old marriage after his angry wife threatened to braii his cheating body and soul with the ferocious Luapula kind lightning.

Richard Wambili, a 46-year-old driver, appeared in the Matero Local Court on Friday, pleading for the courts to grant him a divorce to leave his wife, Majory Kakulwa, 43 of Ng’ombe compound before she could make him an ancestor.

He said his wife became violent on one Women’s day when he accidentally celebrated another woman, instead of her. “ I was seated in the seating room and suddenly, I just felt a slap on my face and attempted to stab my chest using a knife. She threatened to kill me. She even hit me with a bucket and brazier in the head, leaving me bleeding,” said Wambili as he pointed at the scar the brazier left on his forehead.

He added that what frightened him the most, was her threat to immobilise his bedroom instruments of power rendering them dysfunctional through using juju after which she would summon lightning to barbacue his cheating body and soul.

“That is how I ran away from my matrimonial home and settled in Six miles,” said Wambili.

When given chance to speak, Wambili’s wife Kakulwa justified her threats but denied allegations of metting out violence on him.

Kakulwa said even though she still wanted her husband, Wambili had a weakness for women, he does not just see a skirt until he opens it.

She explained that on Women’s Day, her anger went over the roof when she discovered romantic messages on Wambili’s phone sent by own blood cousin.

“In just the first week of our marriage, he slept out. And he hid to me that he was still married to his first wife, I didn’t know I was his side chick at the time, they only fully divorced when we were already married. He started going out with his workmate who would call him at 02:00 hours and each time I asked him, he would say that she was calling him for prayers,” Kakulwa said.

She went on to say, at one point during trade fair, he had a new girlfriend that he wanted to spend the four days holiday with and lied he was going to his mother’s place in Solwezi, only for him to return fresher, healthier, and with a ball packed with fresh scones and a bottle of Munkoyo.

“Your honor this man has made me suffer, each time I comment on his cheating behavior, he hits me, I have scars all over my inner thighs and nose, with the way you see him, do you think I can manage to beat him as he claims?

“He ran away from our children two years ago, but I know for sure that even the same Tonga woman he wants to marry now, he will find a problem in her soon and look for another one,” Said Kakulwa.

And in passing judgement, Magistrate Harriet Mulenga granted the couple divorce and ordered that Wambili compensates Kakulwa with K10,000 and maintain the four children with k1,000, subject to review yearly.

30TH GABON MEMORIAL RECAP: Football Family Keep the Memory Alive

The football family converged at Heroes Acre on Sunday morning with Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga leading the tributes to the 1993 Gabon Disaster heroes.

Despite the event falling outside the official government function since the policy direction to officially commemorate the event every five years, there was a notable number of family members, FAZ officials, fans and members of the press that turned up.

Footballers and Allied Workers Union general secretary Joe Kaunda was part of the solemn occasion that saw FAZ general secretary Reuben Kamanga and Central Province executive committee member Chisanga Pule turn up also.

Addressing the gathering, Kamanga thanked the football family for keeping the memories of the Gabon heroes alive throughout the 31 years.

“Today (Sunday) marks exactly 31 years since we lost our Zambia National Team off the coast of Gabon. It has been a grief stricken 31 years that we have eventually turned into a celebration of the lives of our heroes that gave us so many joyful moments,” he said.
“As we reflect on their contribution to our great nation, it is always our desire to draw from their example of paying the ultimate sacrifice in service for one’s nation. These gallant men died whilst pursuing Zambia’s debut world cup appearance dream.”

“Today, 31 years later, we are still chasing that dream as a nation. In a small way part of the aspirations were met when Zambia won the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon. It was a befitting tribute for these gallant men. However, their world cup qualification dream remains unfulfilled. It is a duty for all of us who remain alive today to honour them fully by qualifying to the FIFA World Cup.”

The FAZ chief thanked the families for having remained committed to remembering the heroes over the years.

“I wish to thank the family members for keeping the memory of these gallant men alive throughout the years. We also thank members of the football family for standing with the families throughout the 31 years in honour of these gallant men,” he said.

And family representative Tamala Mtonga said the formation of the foundation spearheaded by the children of the deceased had made significant strides.

Mtonga said that the foundation had taken up cleaning up the site with some trees planted to reflect the dignity of the fallen men.

Antony denies being burdened by £86m transfer fee, says critics motivate him

0

Despite experiencing another disappointing season at Manchester United, winger Antony remains unfazed by his hefty £86 million (€108m) price tag.

The Brazilian was brought in from Ajax for a substantial fee during the 2022 summer transfer window.

However, United has yet to see significant returns on their investment, as Antony struggled to adapt in his debut season and has faced even greater challenges this year.

With only four games remaining, the 24-year-old scored his first league goal of the season against Burnley, managing just a single assist.

Criticism has mounted against his lacklustre performances, particularly following his controversial celebration after Man Utd’s FA Cup semi-final shootout victory over Coventry City.

Nevertheless, Antony remains resolute that his transfer fee has not burdened him during his time at Old Trafford. Instead, he views his critics as sources of motivation.

He told The Athletic: “It (the transfer fee) doesn’t really impact me because I know my worth, the money is the money and obviously everyone speaks about it but no one would if the performances of everyone and myself were at the top.

“It’s something that is just a way of working harder, knowing I can get better, I know my worth and I will (show it). The critics are going to exist, and it’s something that makes me want to work harder, and prove to myself first. I’m going to keep working, giving everything for the group because it’s most important to have a good mentality and to be focused.”

Off-field issues have undoubtedly posed a distraction for Antony, especially after being accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin last summer.

With a police investigation still ongoing as the season draws to a close, Antony may find himself playing for his Manchester United future in the remaining matches, starting against Crystal Palace on Monday, May 6.

Reports suggest that the club’s new co-owners, INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are eager to offload the £86 million player to minimize losses. However, the ongoing police investigation could potentially disrupt their plans.

A paedophile in the U.S. has agreed to be physically castrated after he raped a 14-year-old girl and got her pregnant.

A paedophile in the U.S. has agreed to be physically castrated after he raped a 14-year-old girl and got her pregnant.

Glen Sullivan Sr., 54, of Springfield, Louisiana, USA pleaded guilty on April 17 to four counts of second-degree rape and was sentenced to 50 years in prison by Judge William Dykes.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into Sullivan in July 2022 after the teenager told police that he raped her ‘multiple times.’

It was later discovered the girl got pregnant, and a DNA test proved that Sullivan was the father.

In 2008, a Louisiana state law was passed that determined that if a man was convicted of certain rape offences, he may be sentenced to chemical or physical castration.

'I felt that this case was a strong enough case and warranted such action,' Assistant District Attorney Brad Cascio told WBRZ.

Physical castration, the surgical removal of testicles, can only be ordered with the defendant’s consent.

Physical castration also reduces testosterone production in a man, according to the National Library of Medicine.

Cascio said Sullivan’s decision was part of a plea agreement. A chemical castration occurs when a male suspect is given a drug called medroxyprogesterone acetate, which reduces sexual urges and suppresses testosterone production. Physical castration also reduces testosterone production in a man, according to the National Library of Medicine.

'I want to say I've had three people ordered to be chemically castrated but, to my knowledge, this is the first physical castration to be ordered,' Cascio said.

'It has to be done no later than one week prior to his release, so they could do it immediately or they could wait,' Cascio added.

Judging by this, Sullivan might not be castrated until a week before the end of his sentence, when he will be more than 100 years old.

'Sex crimes against juveniles are the most malicious crimes we prosecute,' Cascio said.

‘I intend on using every tool the legislature is willing to give us, including physical castration, to seek justice for the children in our community.’

'So many of these types of cases go unreported because of fear,' Perrilloux said.

'The strength it must have taken for this young woman to tell the truth in the face of threats and adversity is truly incredible.'

Cascio added that the girl went on to raise the child who is ‘alive and healthy.’

Trump maintains lead over Biden in 2024 as Americans felt safer and more prosperous during the former president’s tenure

0

A new poll has shown Donald Trump holds an advantage over US President Joe Biden as the campaign and Trump’s criminal trial move forward.

According to the new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, most Americans say looking back, Trump’s term as president was a success, while a broad majority says Biden’s has so far been a failure.

Trump’s support in the poll among registered voters holds steady at 49% in a head-to-head matchup against Biden, the same as in CNN’s last national poll on the race in January, while Biden’s stands at 43%, not significantly different from January’s 45%.

The poll says 55% of all Americans now say they see Trump’s previous and only presidency as a success, while 44% see it as a failure. In a January 2021 poll taken just before Trump left office and days after the January 6 attack on the US Capitol, 55% considered his time as president a failure.

61% say Biden’s presidency thus far has been a failure, while 39% say it’s been a success. That’s narrowly worse than the 57% who called the first year of his administration a failure in January 2022, with 41% calling it a success.

Republicans now are more unified around the idea that Trump’s presidency was a success than Democrats are that Biden’s has been one. Overall, 92% of Republicans call Trump’s time in office a success, while just 73% of Democrats say Biden’s has been a success so far. Among independents, 51% say Trump’s presidency was successful, while only 37% see Biden’s as a success.

45% approve of Biden’s handling of health care policy and 44% approve of his handling of student loan debt.

Biden’s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza yields 28% approval to 71% disapproval, including an 81% disapproval mark among those younger than 35 and a majority disapproval among Democrats (53%).

A broad majority of all Americans, 70%, say economic conditions in the US are poor, with many, particularly Republicans, who feel that way saying their views would be more affected by a political shift than a change in the economy itself.

Among all voters, when independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West and Green Party candidate Jill Stein are included in the matchup, Trump holds 42% to Biden’s 33%, with Kennedy at 16%, West at 4% and Stein at 3%. Kennedy draws 13% each from supporters of Biden and Trump in the initial two-way matchup.

The CNN poll was conducted by SSRS from April 18-23 among a random national sample of 1,212 adults drawn from a probability-based panel, including 967 registered voters.

Scotland’s First Minister, Humza Yousaf, has resigned after facing the prospect of defeat in two confidence vote

Scotland’s First Minister, Humza Yousaf, has resigned after facing the prospect of defeat in two confidence votes.

Yousaf was appointed first minister on 29 March 2023, becoming the youngest person, the first Scottish Asian, and the first Muslim to serve in office.

However, after serving for one year and one month, Yousaf arranged a press conference at Bute House in Edinburgh on Monday, April 29, to announce his resignation.

He had informed his party’s national secretary of his intention to step down and requested the commencement of a leadership contest for his replacement as soon as possible.

He plans to stay on as First Minister until a successor is elected.

Reflecting on his time as leader, he said, “As a young boy born and raised in Scotland I could never have dreamt that one day I would have the privilege of leading my country.

“People who looked like me were not in positions of political influence, let alone leading governments when I was younger.

“We now live in a UK which has a British Hindu Prime Minister, a Muslim Mayor of London, a black Welsh First Minister, and for a little longer, a Scots Asian First Minister of this country.”

He added, “So for those to decry that multiculturalism has failed across the UK, I would suggest the evidence is quite to the contrary. And that is something we should all celebrate.”

A Glasgow-born son of immigrants from Pakistan and Kenya, Yousaf was the first person from a minority ethnic background to become the First Minister of Scotland.

Humza Yousaf previously made repeated calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, where members of his wife’s family became trapped in the early weeks of the conflict after Israel’s retaliation against Hamas following the October 7 attack.

But about a year and a month to the day after being sworn in wearing his Pakistani salwar kameez in the Scottish Parliament, he has now stepped down, following an abrupt end to a power-sharing agreement between his Scottish National Party and the Green Party.

Yousaf ended last week with slim hopes that he could lead a minority government.

That precipitated two motions of no confidence – one from Scottish Labour against the whole Scottish government, with another from the Conservatives, specifically about Mr Yousaf.

The pro-independence SNP’s fortunes have faltered amid a police investigation into its finances and the resignation of former leader Nicola Sturgeon last year, as well as infighting over how progressive its pitch should be as it seeks to woo back voters.

Just days ago, the 39-year-old leader said he was “quite confident” that he could win the confidence vote called by political opponents.

However, by the weekend, his offer of talks with other parties to try to shore up his minority government appeared to be faltering.

Yousaf told the press conference that ending the Bute House agreement with the Greens was the “right decision” but he had “underestimated the level of hurt and upset” it had caused.

“While a route through this week’s motion of no confidence was absolutly possible, I am not willing to trade my values and prinicples, or do deals with whomever, simply for retaining power,” he said.

With his voice at times cracking with emotion, Mr Yousaf paid tribute to his “wonderful wife and beautiful children”, and vowed to continue his role of championing the voices of “those who are not often heard”.

“I’ve often said that as a minority myself, my rights don’t exist in a vacuum, they are only protected because the rights of everyone are protected.

“And from the backbenches of the Scottish Parliament, I will continue to champion the rights and the voices of those who are not often heard, be that at home, or indeed overseas, such as those suffering and continuing to suffer the most horrific humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza as the world watches on.”

He said he was confident that Scotland would one day win its independence from the UK, adding that “the last few miles of the marathon are always the hardest”.

British-Nigerian cosmetic doctor loses license for giving patient Botox ‘in return for s3x

0

A Nigerian cosmetic doctor based in the United Kingdom, UK, Oluwafemi Tijion Esho, has lost his license to practice after being found guilty of giving Botox ‘in return for sex’.

Dr. Tijion Esho, who has featured on ITV’s This Morning, BBC’s Morning Live and E4’s Body Fixers, confessed to an improper emotional relationship with the woman, referred to as Patient A, with whom he exchanged “inappropriate” sexual messages on Instagram.

While appearing before a Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS), the doctor argued that he never had any physical sexual contact with Patient A, who provided sex services via OnlyFans and webcams.

But, an MPTS panel, sitting in Manchester, ruled earlier this month that Dr Esho did have sexual intercourse with Patient A at his clinic in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2021 and administered Botox free of charge.

It was reported that the tribunal also ruled that, at a consultation months earlier, he had stroked her hair and rubbed himself against her after he made inappropriate comments about the shape of her bottom.

The tribunal also established that the doctor, last year made similar remarks to Patient A, and allowed her to masturbate him.

Hence, the tribunal found Dr Esho’s fitness to practise was impaired because of his misconduct and the tribunal announced on Saturday that Esho’s name should be removed from the medical register.

The tribunal’s reasons for imposing the sanction will be released next week.

According to the Telegraph, among the “inappropriate” Instagram messages sent to Patient A between July 2019 and February 2022 was an exchange in September 2019 when he said: “What you doing to me lol. Morning Glory. Bloody have me wanting the real thing. That’s like every man’s dream.”

In November 2019 he posted: “Why you making me bulge lol. Send more, don’t be sorry lol.”

The following month he wrote “Lol loving the tongue” and “Ha free mls [millilitres of botox] I’d need the whole booty and more”.

Weeks later he told her: “My God having you for a night/every night is a dream but if we do it for mls I break the doctors code and I’d be a dead man x lol.”

The tribunal also ruled the conduct of the doctor, also known as Oluwafemi Esho, was sexually motivated but did not find Patient A to be vulnerable because of her profession.

Dr. Esho was featured on the ITV morning programme to provide his medical opinion and comment on cosmetic surgery discussions.

He was also regularly consulted on Body Fixers for E4, a channel operated by Channel 4, which aired for two seasons in 2016 and 2017, and made appearances on segments of BBC’s Morning Live until the summer of 2022.

Dr Esho is the founder of the Esho Clinic, which also has locations in London, Liverpool, and Dubai, and has a host of celebrity clients.

He issued a statement following the tribunal’s finding of facts in which he admitted his conduct in communications with Patient A was wrong, but he continued to deny having sex with her.

At least 45 people killed after dam in western Kenya collapses due to heavy rainfall

0

A dam broke in western Kenya on Monday, killing at least 45 people and leaving many others missing. The rushing water destroyed houses and blocked a main road. This information was shared by the Interior Ministry.

The Old Kijabe Dam in the Mai Mahiu area of the Great Rift Valley collapsed during a flash flood, causing water to overflow and carry mud, rocks, and trees downstream, according to police official Stephen Kirui.

Cars got stuck in the rubble on a very busy road in Kenya, and medical staff helped the hurt people while a lot of water covered a big space.

The Kenya Red Cross said that 109 people were taken to the hospital and 49 people are missing.

William Lokai said to Citizen TV that he heard a loud noise and then his house got flooded with water. He ran away through the roof with his brother and kids.

Continuous rain in Kenya has led to flooding, which has already resulted in the deaths of nearly 100 people and the delay of school openings. The country has been getting a lot of rain since mid-March, and the weather department says there will be even more.

Kenya’s Interior Minister, Kithure Kindiki, said that all public and private dams and water reservoirs must be checked within 24 hours starting on Monday afternoon to prevent future problems. The ministry will decide who needs to leave their homes and where they will go after checking everything.

The Kenya National Highways Authority said there will be a lot of traffic and debris on the roads near Naivasha and Narok, to the west of Nairobi.

Flooding is happening in East Africa because of a lot of rain. In Tanzania, 155 people have died and in Burundi, more than 200,000 people are affected.

A boat overturned in Kenya’s northern Garissa county on Sunday night. The Kenyan Red Cross saved 23 people, but many others are still missing.

Heavy rain caused Kenya’s biggest airport to flood on Saturday. Some flights had to go to a different airport because of this. Videos of the flooded runway, terminals, and cargo area were posted on the internet.

More than 200,000 people in Kenya have been affected by the floods. Houses in areas that often flood are underwater, and people are staying in schools for safety.

President William Ruto told the National Youth Service to give land for a temporary camp for people who are affected.
