SËXUALLY WEAK MAN REFUSES TO DIVORCE SÉXUALLY HYPER WIFE

SËXUALLY WEAK MAN REFUSES TO DIVORCE SÉXUALLY HYPER WIFE

A Mazabuka man who is a confessed user of sexual boosters has refused to divorce his reportedly highly sexually active wife who easily gets aroused by the slightest of touch.

Byta FM Court Journalist reports that this is in a matter where the wife, Maggie, sued her husband for divorce because their marriage became problematic in 2023, among other challenges such as lack of sexual satisfaction.

The couple whose identity is withheld to prevent ridicule, have been married for 27 years with five children.

The wife narrated to the court that her husband does not provide food at home despite having a job, compelling her to manage the household through part-time work.

She further accused her husband of having extramarital affairs, adding that his late coming home has contributed to the problems the couple is facing.

She also complained that when the husband goes home late at night, he plays loud music, giving her a hard time resting.

Meanwhile, the husband acknowledged to the court his inability to satisfy his wife due to a medical status, however stating that he had sought help for his condition.

He further stated that problems in their marriage started in October of this year when his wife began denying him conjugal rights because she was not being satisfied.

He added that despite his four days of herbal treatment and feeling ready to make love to his wife, she still complained of not being satisfied, a thing that angered him, hence sleeping in the living room.

He further complained that as a tactic to prevent him from making sexual advances, the wife puts their 3-year-old baby between them.

Regardless, the court asked the couple to reconcile, seeing that the man was on treatment, further advising them to cater to each other’s needs and place sexual intercourse at the center of their marriage.

Both parties agreed to work on their marriage, with the wife telling the court that she needed a year to make a difference.

AMBASSADOR MULENGA SALUTES FRANCE FOR BEING THE FIRST AMONG ZAMBIA’S BILATERAL CREDITORS TO SIGN THE DEBT RESTRUCTURING AGREEMENT

Paris, France – 19th December, 2024

Zambia’s Ambassador to France, Her Excellency Ms. Judith Mulenga, has saluted France for being the first bilateral creditor to sign a debt restructuring agreement with Zambia.

During a media briefing at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in Paris, Ambassador Mulenga expressed gratitude to France and urged other bilateral creditors to follow its lead.

“Zambia is very grateful to France, and we pray that other creditors follow France’s example, allowing our government and Republican President to focus on economic growth initiatives that would uplift the living standards of the people of Zambia,” she stated.

The Ambassador reiterated President Hakainde Hichilema’s commitment to meeting Zambia’s debt obligation while pushing an urgent economic development agenda and implementing prudent fiscal management. She informed the French media that while the debt contraction had been opaque the current government had been very transparent on the debt restructuring  as it had kept the Zambian public well informed of the debt restructuring processes from the June 2023 Summit for a New Global Financial Pact to the signing of the debt restructuring agreement with France. Therefore, the Zambian public is aware of the collective responsibility of the nation’s debt burden.

Ambassador Mulenga further quoted President Hichilema as having described the nation’s commitment to repaying the debt as not just a financial necessity but a moral imperative. Consequently, she applauded France’s role in facilitating Zambia’s debt restructuring from co-chairing Zambia’s debt committee under the G20 framework to the signing of the bilateral debt restructuring.

Speaking during the same occasion, French Ambassador to Zambia, His Excellency Mr. Thomas Rossignol, noted that the bilateral agreement positions Zambia to access loan investments for development in the coming weeks, essential for the country’s economic growth, especially given the stable and positive economic indicators projecting a better outlook for 2025.

“The job is not yet done, the task now is to honor the plan and keep investing in the country for sustainable development, ensuring the benefits reach the entire population,” Ambassador Rossignol stated. He emphasized that France has paved the way for other creditors to join the restructuring efforts, highlighting the debt restructuring agreement as a testament to the power of multilateralism and the credibility of the G20-Paris Club Common Framework.

Ambassador Rossignol recalled that France’s support was provided without imposing conditions, positively responding to Zambia’s request for assistance under the G20 Common Framework.

The agreement signed between Zambia and France represents a significant advancement in implementing the recommendations from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in October 2023 under the G20-Paris Club Common Framework for Debt Treatment beyond the Debt Service Suspension Initiative. The finalized agreement sets the stage for additional agreements with other creditor countries, ensuring comparability of debt treatment that in turn would support Zambia’s economic recovery efforts.

SICHILIMA BACKS NEW HOPE MMD CONDEMNS ILLEGAL PARTY ORGAN, THE POLITBURAL

Operation Save MMD has joined the Copperbelt New Hope MMD in demanding that the former ruling party be protected from going into extinction due to bad leadership and dictatorial tendencies.

Operation Save MMD leader Gastone Sichilima says the party’s undisputed record in bringing democracy in Zambia should be preserved through respecting the Constitution and the organization itself.

Mr. Sichilima who is a founder member of the mother of democracy in Zambia, the Movement for Multi Party Democracy, MMD, adds that revelations that Dr. Mumba has created an illegal organ called “the Politbural” are so unfortunate because the party’s Constitution is clear that the NEC is the highest organ in between two conventions and nothing else should be above it.

On Wednesday, MMD New Hope National Executive Committee Members based on the Copperbelt, led by Mr. Frank Bowa, condemned and branded as “illegal” an organ called “The Politbural” created by Nevers Mumba to make critical decisions in the party including illegal filling in of NEC casual vacancies like the illegal appointment of Pastor Philip as party spokesperson without following party constitution as guided in article 18(5).

“I am not speaking from without, Article 40(1) is very clear on term of office for party President. So even when he is talking about the Politbural, let him quote the Article in MMD Constitution which talks of such organ. That is an illegal and scandalous organ created,” the MMD founding member said.

Mr. Sichilima has further asked the Media to stop addressing Dr. Mumba as MMD Party President because his tenure of office ended in 2022.

He says as it stands, Dr. Mumba is illegally doing things in the name of the MMD.

“And you the Media, stop addressing him (Mumba) as party President today. He ceased to be a Party President when his 10 years, of two five years eaf terms, came to an end,” he adds.

Mr. Sichilima has further apologized to the nation over the misrepresentation of Dr. Mumba in public.

“Let me apologize to the nation on behalf of the MMD. What Nevers Mumba is doing and saying in Kawambwa (campaigning for UPND at a by-election) is doing it in his own personal capacity and not on behalf of the party,” Mr. Sichilima said.

Mr. Sichilima said Dr. Mumba defected alone to UPND and claiming that the whole MMD is in an alliance with the ruling party is illegal and totally wrong.

He says no one is against the MMD being in an alliance with any party but that the Constitution needed to be followed and the general membership across the country being in agreement on that route.

TËSTICLE REMOVED AFTER MOB JUSTICE

A 19-year-old man from Dambwa Site and Service in Livingstone City had one of his testicles removed by the Livingstone Teaching Hospital after he was severely beaten by community members.

This was after the suspect, identified as Joshua Njovu, allegedly escaped from Police apprehension following his arrest on suspicions of aggravated robbery, burglary, and theft.

Responding to a press query from Byta FM News, Southern Province Commissioner of Police Auxensio Daka explains that on 27th November 2024, Chrispine Mweenda, aged 50, reported that his house was broken into by unknown people who stole goods worth K13,500.

Daka notes that on 6th December 2024, Police received information indicating that the suspects were seen in the Dambwa Site and Service, prompting them to go there with members of the neighborhood watch.

He states that members of the neighbourhood watch managed to apprehend Njovu, who was among the other two suspects.

Daka says after being interviewed, Njovu led officers to his house, which he shares with the other two suspects, and upon searching, suspected stolen goods were discovered together with weapons such as machetes.

He however notes that while the search was ongoing, the suspect, while handcuffed, jumped off the vehicle and headed east-bound towards Linda Compound.

Daka says Officers pursued him and about 3 to 4 kilometers into the chase, he was apprehended by community members who descended on him and beat him as he was identified as one of the junkies terrorizing people before he was rescued by Police.

He conveys that the suspect was violent and grabbed a firearm sling from one of the officers and, in trying to grab it back, the buttstock broke.

Upon being subdued, the suspect was taken to Dambwa Central Police Post, where he was detained and began complaining of abdominal pains, hence undergoing surgery at Livingstone Teaching Hospital, where one of his testicles was removed as it was damaged.

ITEZHI-TEZHI WOMAN CHEWS OVER K100,000 CDF MONEY FOR HER ILLITERATE CLUB MEMBERS

ITEZHI-TEZHI WOMAN CHEWS OVER K100,000 CDF MONEY FOR HER ILLITERATE CLUB MEMBERS

POLICE in Southern Province have arrested a 50 year old woman of Itezhi-tezhi for allegedly stealing K110,000 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) loan money meant for a women’s empowerment programme.

The suspect, identified as Charity Muchanga of Chibolya B Compound, served as the secretary of Kamuchangamuka Women’s Club.

According to police reports, the club was established in 2021 by 20 women, mostly elderly and illiterate, to empower themselves through income-generating activities, and was chaired by Catherine Mwanagombe, 61, with Doreen Shingwele as treasurer and Charity Muchanga as secretary.

However, in 2023, the club successfully applied for a K110,000 CDF loan to purchase a hammer mill and start small businesses.

But when the cheque was issued, Muchanga turned into a Tonga crook and allegedly withdrew the entire amount from Zanaco Bank, accompanied only by Mwanagombe, who could not read or write.

So instead of purchasing the recommended hammer mill, Muchanga reportedly bought a smaller, less expensive one and claimed to have spent K5,000 on diesel.

And on top of that, she did not present her elderly and illiterate club members with any receipts to prove her spending for neither the diesel nor the hammer mill in use.

Muchanga also allegedly avoided calling meetings to account for the funds and failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the missing money.

Her thieving game finally came to an end on Sunday this week after her club members came to know of her crooked activities.

It was discovered that Muchanga had been stealing money since July last year.

The incident was confirmed by Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Auxensio Daka who said police summoned Muchanga for questioning following the report.

“She was unable to account for how the entire K110,000 was spent. A docket has been opened, and Muchanga has been arrested as  she is expected to appear in court soon,” said Daka.

Meanwhile, Itezhi-Tezhi Town Council has issued a stern warning to all other defaulting clubs who received loans in 2022, 2023 and 2024 stating that it is imperative that they  honour their repayment commitments to ensure the continued availability of funds for future beneficiaries, as this is a revolving fund.

“On a positive note, we commend the clubs such as Chilongwe Handicapped Association, Macbro Multipurpose Club, Luubwe Disabled Club, Tonka Tweende Youth Association, Nahubwe Safari Lodge , Rubak Coperative and others that have been diligent in repaying their loans,” said Council Assistant Public Relations Officer Evelyn Tembo.

“Your commitment and responsibility are crucial in maintaining the integrity and success of the CDF loan programs.”

CLOSE TO 500 THOUSAND FARMERS SUPPORTED BY SWEDEN

CLOSE TO 500 THOUSAND FARMERS SUPPORTED BY SWEDEN

THE Swedish government has spent USD $52 million on agriculture projects to support and improve market conditions to over 430,000 farmers in Zambia since 2012.

Swedish Embassy Head of Development Cooperation and Chargee D’affairs, Susanna Hughes disclosed that her Country has supported Musika with about USD $51.2 million, under the project dubbed ‘Making Agricultural Markets Work for Zambia’ since 2012.

Speaking during the Musika Stakeholders Project Evaluation Meeting in Lusaka, Ms Hughes revealed that over 430,000 farmers Countrywide have benefitted from improved access to inputs, products, services as well as finance.

Ms. Hughes added that due to improved access to markets, more than USD $45 million in increased income has been accrued to Zambia’s smallholder farmers.

She also highlighted that over USD $32 million worth of private capital has since been leveraged for investment in the smallholder market, further leading to millions of dollars in new businesses.

Ms Hughes has since commended the Zambian government for creating an enabling environment for private sector growth.

“The government’s support and commitment to creating an enabling environment for private sector growth has been instrumental. Their policies and initiatives have facilitated the implementation of our projects and ensured that the benefits reach the intended communities,” she said.

And Ministry of Agriculture Permanent Secretary in Charge of Administration, Yvonne Mpundu said government has created a conducive environment for investment in the agricultural sector in order to benefit smallholder farmers.

Ms. Mpundu said in a speech delivered for her by Assistant Director for Agri-Business in the Ministry of Agriculture, Peter Zulu during the Musika Stakeholders ‘Project Evaluation Meeting in Lusaka.

She explained that government has placed focus on agricultural value chains and market linkages in the Eighth National Development Plan (8NDP), adding that this aligns with the strategic direction to strengthen agricultural value chains and improve smallholder farmer access to markets.

Ms. Mpundu acknowledged the role of players such as Musika in transforming Zambia’s agriculture sector through private sector-led innovations.

She stated that the Ministry of Agriculture has partnered with Musika on several key initiatives aimed at developing market opportunities and creating an environment that enables smallholder producers to participate actively in structured markets.

“These efforts align with the 8NDP, where the government has launched a strategic focus on economic diversification and job creation, with agriculture as a key sector. Musika’s work contributes to this national agenda by promoting private sector development and market systems inclusion, which are essential for economic transformation and poverty alleviation,” she said.

And Musika Board Vice Chairperson Chris Muyunda said the Organisation adopted a strategy aimed at ensuring sustainability of market linkages.

He explained that this entails a shift from a Partner Focused Approach to ensure that solutions provided are not just for partners but the whole market.

“With this approach, Musika will be required to conduct market systems analysis to identify root causes of market failures that can be resolved by engaging a cross section of stakeholders such as government, private sector and traditional leaders, among others,” Dr. Muyunda elaborated.

Power Belongs to the People: A Wake-Up Call for President Hakainde Hichilema – Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Power Belongs to the People: A Wake-Up Call for President Hakainde Hichilema

By Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

I was surprised when I watched a clip of President Hakainde Hichilema boldly claiming that it won’t be easy to remove the UPND government from power come 2026. Such confidence—or rather arrogance—seems misplaced, especially considering the glaring challenges and widespread dissatisfaction among the Zambian people under his leadership. This statement raises serious concerns about whether President Hichilema truly understands the foundation of democracy: power belongs to the people.

Power is a Sacred Trust, Not an Entitlement

Power is not a privilege bestowed indefinitely but a sacred trust given by the people to those they deem capable of representing their interests. President Hichilema must come to terms with this reality: as long as the people remain dissatisfied with his governance, no amount of self-assurance or political rhetoric will secure him a second term in 2026.

It is disheartening to hear the President express unwarranted confidence that he cannot be removed from power, even as his leadership continues to falter on critical issues. This misplaced sense of invincibility is a stark reminder of the adage: power corrupts. No leader should underestimate the people’s ability to reclaim what rightfully belongs to them—democratic power.

The People’s Verdict: Based on Leadership, Not Empty Promises

The Zambian people are disillusioned. As the cost of living skyrockets, load-shedding becomes an everyday nightmare, and essential commodities such as mealie meal and fuel become unaffordable, one cannot help but question the leadership priorities of this government. These glaring issues—compounded by police brutality, a compromised judicial system, and an unstable currency—paint a grim picture of a government detached from the realities faced by ordinary citizens.

What makes this situation even more troubling is the apparent complacency in addressing these pressing challenges. While citizens bear the brunt of economic hardship, the government’s responses often seem superficial, uncoordinated, or dismissive. The very people who elevated Hichilema to the presidency now feel abandoned, betrayed by a leadership that once promised transformation.

These failures in governance speak louder than any campaign promises or political slogans. The Zambian people, who voted for hope and change in 2021, are now questioning whether their trust was misplaced. Empty assurances and loyalty from a small circle of praise singers cannot mask the widespread dissatisfaction echoing across the country.

Elections Are Won by the People, Not the Leader

In a democracy, it is not the leader who secures their position; it is the people who grant or revoke that mandate. President Hichilema must realize that even the most elaborate propaganda or political alliances cannot override the power of the ballot. The only way to earn a second term is through tangible results—improving the lives of the people and addressing their grievances

If the President’s confidence stems from an assumption that loyalty from party supporters will suffice, he is gravely mistaken. Elections are not won by praise singers or loyalists alone; they are won by the collective voice of a nation. Without the trust and satisfaction of the broader population, his dreams of re-election are nothing more than wishful thinking.

It is crucial to acknowledge that Zambians are politically aware and resolute in their convictions. The voter base is no longer naïve or easily swayed by empty words. Citizens are demanding more accountability and transparency than ever before. Unless President Hichilema moves swiftly to address their grievances, he risks facing the full wrath of an electorate ready to reclaim their power.

A Cry for Action, Not Complacency

The issues plaguing Zambia today demand urgent and decisive action. Citizens are tired of promises; they need solutions. High fuel prices and mealie meal costs are crushing families. Frequent power outages are crippling businesses and households. The perception of a compromised judiciary and unchecked police brutality further erodes confidence in government institutions.

Moreover, the youth, who make up a significant portion of the electorate, feel disenchanted. Unemployment remains a critical issue, and many young people see little evidence that their government is committed to creating opportunities for their generation. It is a ticking time bomb, one that demands immediate attention.

If President Hichilema truly believes he deserves a second term, he must first address these pressing concerns. The Zambian people are not asking for miracles; they are asking for leadership that listens, acts, and delivers. Time is running out, and the patience of the electorate is wearing thin.

The Dangers of Arrogance in Leadership

When a leader becomes overly confident in their position, they risk losing sight of the purpose of their role: to serve the people. Arrogance blinds leaders to the realities on the ground, creating a disconnect between the government and its citizens. This is a dangerous path, one that has led to the downfall of many leaders who believed they were untouchable.

President Hichilema must understand that clinging to power without addressing the people’s needs is a futile endeavor. The people’s dissatisfaction will eventually find its way to the ballot box, and no amount of political maneuvering will save a leader who has lost the trust of the electorate.

Power Belongs to the People

In 2026, the ballot box will speak. No leader can vote themselves into power a million times. It is the people who hold the ultimate authority, and they will exercise it without fear or favor. If President Hichilema wants to remain in power, he must earn that privilege by addressing the struggles of the people, not by assuming it is his birthright.

Power belongs to the people, and they will not hesitate to remind any leader who forgets this fundamental truth. Let this be a wake-up call: leadership is about service, not entitlement. The Zambian people deserve better, and come 2026, they will demand it.

POLICE IN KAWAMBWA ARE LOOKING FOR HON JEAN CHISENGA, HON MUMBI PHIRI, PASTOR PETER CHANDA AND LUSAKA LAWYER CELESTINE MUKANDILA

POLICE IN KAWAMBWA ARE LOOKING FOR HON JEAN CHISENGA, HON MUMBI PHIRI, PASTOR PETER CHANDA AND LUSAKA LAWYER CELESTINE MUKANDILA

…..want to slap them with Aggravated Robbery, reveals Hon Lubinda

Kawambwa District… Thursday December 19, 2024 (SMART EAGLES)

Police in Kawambwa District are allegedly looking for Mambilima PF Member of Parliament Hon Jean Chisenga, Lusaka Lawyer Celestine Mukandila, New Congress Party President Pastor Peter Chanda and former PF Deputy Secretary General Hon Mumbi Phiri.

According to PF Vice President Hon Given Lubinda, the police want to charge the four leaders with Aggravated Robbery.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on St Mary’s Catholic Church Parish Priest Fr Kenneth Kashinga, Hon Lubinda said the charges are concocted and want to intimidate the opposition as they campaign for the Tonse Alliance candidate Danstan Mwansa who is standing on the New Congress Party (NCP) ticket.

He revealed that the Officer in Charge at Kawambwa Police Station today called the NCP Deputy Secretary General Jonathan Phiri to present the four leaders at the Station.

“Yesterday, Chief Munkanta received information that the UPND have a specific room at a named lodge which they are calling ‘An Emergency Room’ where they are keeping offensive weapons such as guns, machetes, knives and other weapons. So the Chief instructed a police officer, his retainer, Hon Chisenga, Pastor Chanda and Celestine Mukandila to go and check if it is true that the UPND have those weapons. But when they got there, they refused to open one room which was mentioned to be the holding room for weapons. To our surprise, the UPND rushed to the police and reported that the people who had gone there had stolen K20, 000 and want to charge them with Aggravated Robbery,” he informed the Priest.

“The second issue also happened yesterday in the afternoon towards evening, where Mike Mposha was reportedly seen at a school where the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) officials are said to be collecting Voters cards and NRCs from the local people. This was suspicious and so after receiving this information from our members, Hon Mumbi Phiri rushed there to check what was happening. And she was received by Mr Mposha. Later we heard that Hon Phiri stole a phone and K20, 000. They want to charge her with Aggravated Robbery as well.”

The former Justice Minister further said these moves are calculated and aimed at disadvantaging the opposition.

“How do you call for the arrest of your opponents a day before elections? And the charges they want to slap on our people are grave, and you know it will be difficult to get them out as this is a norm by the UPND to keep their opponents in incarceration. This is why we are appealing to the Church to appeal to the conscience of these people because we want a free and fair election,” he added.

Meanwhile, Luapula Constituency PF MP Eng Chanda Katotobwe said one can tell that these cases are concocted because in the two cases, they are mentioning K20, 000 meaning that they were told to do so by UPND.

And Fr Kashinga said since the nominations, he has been preaching for peace and unity.

He said he will continue to pray for a free and fair election.

Hon Lubinda was in the company of Pastor Chanda, Hon Chisenga and Mr Mukandila.

MIKE MPOSHA TO SUE MUMBI PHIRI OVER CLAIMS OF WORKING WITH ECZ TO PRINT BALLOT PAPERS TO RIG KAWAMBWA BY-ELECTION

MIKE MPOSHA TO SUE MUMBI PHIRI OVER CLAIMS OF WORKING WITH ECZ TO PRINT BALLOT PAPERS TO RIG KAWAMBWA BY-ELECTION

By Conrad Mwango/Lukundo Nankamba/Leah Ngoma/Tellah Hazinji

Green Economy and Environment Minister Mike Mposha, has disclosed plans to take legal action against Patriotic Front member Mumbi Phiri over her allegations that he conspired with Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ- officials in Kawambwa to print ballot papers for rigging tomorrow’s parliamentary by-election.

This follows an incident last evening were PF cadres, led by Mrs. Phiri, stormed the UPND campaign site at a local school in Kawambwa and accused Mr. Mposha of possessing pre-marked ballot papers, an allegation that was later proven to be false.

Speaking from Kawambwa central police station where he filed a complaint, Mr. Mposha expressed his intention to take legal action against Mrs. Phiri and the PF cadres for their unfounded accusations.

Mr. Mposha says he has since instructed his lawyer to proceed with the case, seeking to clear his name and hold those responsible accountable for making false allegations.

Efforts to reach Mrs. Phiri for a comment proved futile by broadcast time, as her phone was unreachable.

And the Tonse Alliance has unearthed a scheme in which the UPND is allegedly attempting to rig the Kawambwa parliamentary by-election against the Tonse alliance candidate, Danstan Mwansa who is standing on the new congress party ticket.

Alliance spokesperson Sean Tembo has alleged that the scheme is made up of two aspects, which involves both UPND and some senior government officials, buying national registration cards and voters’ cards from voters at K100 per voter and that documents will be kept at a designated house near a polling station for voters.

According to Mr Tembo, the second plan by the UPND to rig the by-election involves bribing opposition polling agents and election monitors with K300 each, to cast in favor of the Tonse Alliance candidate, Mr. Mwansa, and render the votes ineligible and considered as rejected ballots.

He says the two rigging schemes were narrated to by voters in various wards of Kawambwa constituency, who have been approached by the UPND to participate in these schemes, and some of who have been paid already.

But Nangoma constituency member of parliament Collins Nzovu who is part of the UPND campaign team, has dismissed Mr Tembo’s allegations as false and baseless, stating that the opposition has sensed defeat because they are in disarray and lack proper campaign messages.

Meanwhile, PF member Mumbi Phiri has refuted the claims saying she did not see any ballot papers or even make such a statement.

Ms. Phiri has also expressed disappointment at Mr. Mposha for threatening to take legal action against her adding that the circulating video clearly shows that she did not make such statement

Court Has Ordered GBM To Repay Us$899, 970 And K20,000,000 To The Treasury

Jail bird GBM to lose his property unless…

ON top of his jailing former minister of defense, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba now shoulders the weight of refunding the money he profited from the contracts, which were dubiously obtained by his company Curzon Global limited, in the ministry he served.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Court has ordered Mwamba alias GBM to repay US$899, 970 and K20,000,000 to the treasury, failure to which law enforcement officers will seize his property in order to recover the said monies.

Magistrate Stanford Ngobola has issued a payment order against GBM, as the obscene amounts of money were withdrawn from his accounts and he only has a K125,000 left.

The Anti-Corruption Commission made an application for payment and not forfeiture order under Section 15(a), of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act No.19 of 2010.

Mwamba was convicted on October 9, 2024, on eight counts of conflict of interest, one count of money laundering and four counts of being in possession of property reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime.

Following the conviction, ACC investigator Masautso Mwale instituted investigations to establish whether the money received by GBM, when he awarded contracts to his company whilst serving as minister of defense, was still in the various accounts held at Investrust Bank PLC and First Alliance Bank.

Mwale indicated that on November 8, 2024, he visited the liquidator for Investrust Bunk PLC at Mulungushi House, and conducted a search on the personal account of Mwamba and Germins Notarways Limited account, and he discovered that the closing balance as on November 8, 2024 in GBM’s account is K125,928.68.

He discovered that the Germins Motorways Limited account had since been closed.

The investigator said on November 11, 2024, he conducted a search at first Allance Bank PLC to ascertain whether the US$399,985.00 subject of count 10 of the indictment was still being held in the Arizona Marketing and Distributors bank account and he discovered that the closing balance as of November 11, 2024, was K127.38.

Mwale indicated that following his diligent search, he established that the monies that were being held in the said bank accounts were withdrawn.

“This Court having had convicted GBM in counts 10 to 13 of the indictment, of the offense of being in possession of property reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime, has jurisdiction to make a forfeiture order in respect of monies,” he said.

“Under the circumstances, this Court has jurisdiction to make a payment order instead of a forfeiture order, in respect of the amounts the subject of counts 10 to 13. Prejudice would be occasioned on the State if GBM is not ordered to pay back all the monies, subject of counts 10 to 13.”

Mwale added that having been found guity of possession of property reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime, it is amiss that GBM continues to enjoy the benefits denved from proceeds of crime.

“Section 15(a) the Forfeiture of Proceed of Crime Act No, 19 of 2010 empowers the court to order payment instead of forfeture, where it is satisfied that the forfeitable asset cannot be located after a diligent search,”he said.

GBM opposed the application for payment or forfeiture of funds, saying the same shouldn’t have been made on grounds that the Judgment upon which the ACC has based its application, is currently under appeal.

He said the application is premature and irregular as his appeal to the High Court is pending determination, and that should the application be granted before his appeal to the High Court is determined, he will suffer prejudice, in the event that the appeal succeeds.

“There ought to be finality in all matters before a forfeiture order can be made, and that to achieve such finality, there is need for the Courts to give way to criminal appeals to be fully heard and determined by an Appellate Court before such orders may be given,”GBM argued.

In his ruling, magistrate Stanford Ngobola said the court was rightly moved.

“I am satisfied that the forfeiture order should be made in respect of property of the Respondent pursuant to section 10 of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act No, 19 of 2010, I am also satisfied that a due diligence exercise had been undertaken and the property subject to forfeiture order could not be located,” he said.

Magistrate Ngobola said the application dated November 18, 2024 succeeds.

I order payment to the Government of Zambia against the Mwamba herein, instead of forfeiture as follows:
That an order for payment be and is hereby issued in the sum of US$399,985.00 in respect of count 10, in default a warrant of distress is to be issued against the Respondent;
That an order for payment be and is hereby issued in the sum of US$499,985.00 in respect of count 11, in default a warrant of distress is to issued against the Respondent,” said magistrate Ngobola.

“That an order for payment be and is hereby issued in the sum of K10,000,000 in respect of count 12, in default a warrant of distress is to be issued against the Respondent; That an order for payment be and is hereby issued in the sum of K10,000,000 in respect of count 13, in default a warrant of distress is to be issued against the Respondent.”

GBM appealed against his five year-jailing before the EFCC (High Court Division) and the same is pending determination, as his case has not yet been cause listed.

TONSE ALLIANCE PRESS STATEMENT ON ATTEMPTS BY THE RULING UPND PARTY TO RIG THE KAWAMBWA PARLIAMENTARY BY-ELECTION

TONSE ALLIANCE PRESS STATEMENT ON ATTEMPTS BY THE RULING UPND PARTY TO RIG THE KAWAMBWA PARLIAMENTARY BY-ELECTION

Kawambwa-Zambia, 19th December 2024

1. The TONSE ALLIANCE has unearthed an elaborate illegal scheme by the ruling UPND party to rig the Kawambwa Parliamentary by-election against the TONSE ALLIANCE Candidate, Mr. Danstan Mwansa who is standing on the New Congress Party (NCP) ticket.

2. The scheme is made up of two aspects. The first aspect, which is already in motion, involves UPND officials and some senior Government officials, buying National Registration Cards (NRCs) and Voters Cards from voters at K100 per voter. These documents are then kept at a designated house near a Polling Station, and the voters are told to go to this designated house on polling day, to collect their documents before they can proceed to go and vote.

3. The plan is that on voting day, a UPND supporter will visit a Polling Station as one of the very first people to vote, but instead of casting their vote, they will simply put the ballot paper into their pocket and walk out to the designated house where confiscated NRCs and Voters Cards are being kept. At this designated house, the stolen ballot paper will then be pre-marked and given to a voter together with that particular voter’s NRC and Voter’s Card. The voter then goes into the Polling Station with the pre-marked ballot in their pocket, collects the unmarked ballot from Polling Staff, and when they go into the Voting Booth to cast their ballot, they simply cast the pre-marked ballot and walks out with the blank ballot paper, back to the designated house. The blank ballot paper is then pre-marked and given to the next voter, together with their documents. The process is repeated over and over for the entire voting day.

4. The second aspect of the UPND planned rigging scheme in Kawambwa involves bribing opposition Polling Agents and Election Monitors with K300 each. At some point during the vote counting process at a Polling Station, the opposition Polling Agents and Election Monitors will be asked to leave the Polling Station and go outside, so that only UPND officials and Polling Staff will remain in the Polling Station. At this point, UPND officials plan to temper with the ballots cast in favour of the TONSE ALLIANCE Candidate, Mr. Danstan Mwansa, by writing something on these ballots which will render them ineligible and considered as Rejected Ballots.

5. The above two rigging schemes were narrated to us by voters in various Wards of Kawambwa Constituency, who have been approached by the UPND to participate in these schemes, and some of whom have actually been paid already, to be part of these schemes. At this point, we are yet to establish whether the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) and the Zambia Police Service are part and parcel of these rigging schemes.

6. In order to protect the votes of our Candidate, Mr Danstan Mwansa, from manipulation and rigging, as well as in order to preserve the integrity of the entire Kawambwa Parliamentary by-election, the TONSE ALLIANCE has put in place vigorous counter-measures designed to thwart the UPND rigging schemes. To begin with, the ALLIANCE has established a hotline for the Kawambwa community to report any suspicious activity on voting day. Numerous Rapid Reaction Voter Protection Teams, each headed by a Member of Parliament, have also been put in place to quickly react to any reported cases of suspicious behavior, either at a Polling Station or at a house. Our Polling Agents and Election Monitors have also been appropriately trained on how to detect malfeasance at the Polling Station and how to report such malfeasance to the established hotline, so that the Rapid Reaction Voter Protection Teams can respond accordingly. Voters coming out of a Polling Station shall also be monitored in order to establish that they are not going back to a specific designated house which is coordinating rigging schemes.

7. The TONSE ALLIANCE wishes to take this opportunity to inform both the Electoral Commission of Zambia and the Zambia Police Service, that our Rapid Reaction Voter Protection Teams reserve the right to demand that certain individuals who behave suspiciously at Polling Stations, be searched on site, so as to determine that they are not carrying any pre-marked ballots or participating in any way in the rigging schemes.

8. The Electoral Commission of Zambia together with the Zambia Police Service are hereby further warned that should they refuse to accede to demands for a search of suspicious characters at Polling Stations, the Community reserves the right to effect a citizens arrest of any and all persons suspected to be taking part in a rigging scheme, including Polling Staff where necessary. Whatever the case, the TONSE ALLIANCE shall ensure that no UPND rigging scheme comes to fruition in this particular by-election. This shall be done at any cost necessary. TILI TONSE 🤝

It will not be easy to push us out, we are a mature party – Hichilema

President Hakainde Hichilema says UPND’s  hard-earned experience of resilience and enduring 23 years of suffering in opposition makes it unlikely for the party to be easily unseated in the 2026 elections.

Addressing UPND members in Lusaka yesterday, President Hichilema stated that those who think it’s easy will be shocked as the party has delivered on a lot of its promises just within three years.

“This party (UPND) is a mature party, 23 years in opposition and now we are here and people think they can push us out easily? Aikona man, nimasobela ayo. We went through a lot, 23 years in opposition even when there was teargas, we still went and mobilised until we formed government to serve our people. Even when others were killed, we still mobilised. Even when I was jailed, we still mobilised,” said President Hichilema.

“Those who think they can push us out easily must first ask that child who is now receiving free education and that parent who is not paying school fees, or that nurse or teacher who has been recruited, those are the people who will answer them, we won’t even answer ourselves. We will see if they would want a party that didn’t care for them to come back in power.”

.

The Head of State further stated that he had not forgotten about the youths who elected him into office, assuring them of more jobs and other opportunities being created to empower and thank them.

“I haven’t forgotten about the youth, all the jobs government is creating are for youths, youths  are the ones who put me here. Bursaries, free education, nurses, teachers being recruited are all youths. How can I forget about them? Not at all, they are my people,” he said.

President Hichilema added that the previous government must be grateful to the UPND for having cleaned the mess it left instead of aimlessly criticising the  current government.

“Ikalenifye tondolo, muloleshe abanenu balebomba, mwalyonaula (just keep quiet and watch, we are working, you destroyed the country),” he stated.

He also advised his party members to continue mobilising the party and give a deaf ear to nay sayers especially those that rant on social media.

The President said there is need for the party to deliver the right message on what government is doing instead of responding to critics.

“So this message is for you the UPND. Don’t follow those messages on social media which is meant to create digression and distraction. Eyes on the ball. Those with sense can feel nice when they see us dishing out the dirt they left but those without sense will always criticise,” said President Hichilema.

Addressing Zambia’s Humanitarian and Economic Crisis

Addressing Zambia’s Humanitarian and Economic Crisis

By Ephraim Shakafuswa, Council of Leaders Member – Tonse Alliance

In response to Hon. Cornelius Mweetwa’s assertion that the UPND government has not brought hardships to the Zambian people is not only misguided but dangerously out of touch with the grim reality facing millions. The truth is stark and unmistakable: Zambians are struggling to secure even one meal a day, and this escalating crisis demands immediate attention and decisive action from the highest levels of government.

Recent assessments paint a chilling picture of the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Zambia. Over 5.8 million Zambians—nearly 33% of our population—are projected to face severe hunger between October 2024 and March 2025. Breaking this down:

– 5.6 million individuals are expected to fall into IPC Phase 3 (Crisis), a state where families face acute food shortages and rely on emergency measures to survive.

– An additional 236,000 individuals will teeter on the brink of IPC Phase 4 (Emergency), a stage marked by extreme hunger, malnutrition, and potential loss of life.

These numbers are not abstract statistics; they represent children crying themselves to sleep on empty stomachs, parents forced to choose which family member will eat, and communities unraveling under the weight of desperation.

Spiraling Cost of Living

The cost of living has spiraled out of control, with food inflation placing unbearable strain on already struggling households:

– The price of a 25kg bag of breakfast mealie meal has skyrocketed from K208 in June 2023 to K330 in June 2024.

– The cost of roller meal has nearly doubled, climbing from K137 to K276 within the same period.

This steep surge in prices has reduced access to Zambia’s staple food, plunging millions deeper into poverty. For families earning less than K50 a day, these prices are simply unattainable, pushing them into relentless hunger and deprivation.

Agriculture and Climate Challenges

The hunger crisis is exacerbated by challenges in agriculture, the backbone of Zambia’s economy. Climate-related shocks—from prolonged droughts to unpredictable rainfall patterns—have devastated harvests, leaving farmers struggling to produce enough food to feed their communities. The government’s inadequate support for small-scale farmers has only compounded these challenges, further threatening national food security.

Moreover, the high cost of inputs such as fertilizer and seeds has discouraged many farmers from cultivating their fields. A lack of investment in modern farming methods, infrastructure, and irrigation systems has left the agricultural sector vulnerable to even minor disruptions. These shortcomings have created a vicious cycle, with lower crop yields driving up food prices and intensifying the hunger crisis.

A Humanitarian Emergency

This crisis is no longer a matter of economic mismanagement alone; it has escalated into a full-blown humanitarian emergency. The government must act swiftly to:

1. Implement food security programs to curb inflation and ensure access to affordable staple foods.

2. Provide subsidies, improved irrigation systems, and climate-resilient farming techniques to help farmers overcome climate-related challenges.

3. Expand social welfare programs to provide immediate relief to the most vulnerable, ensuring no Zambian goes hungry.

4. Address rising poverty and unemployment through policies that prioritize economic empowerment, job creation, and sustainable livelihoods.

A Call for Leadership

Hon. Mweetwa’s comments reflect a dangerous disconnect from the lived experiences of ordinary Zambians. The suffering of millions cannot be downplayed with political rhetoric. President Hakainde Hichilema and his administration must confront this crisis with the urgency and leadership it demands. Empty promises and excuses are no longer acceptable.

The Zambian people deserve a government that listens, acts decisively, and prioritizes their basic needs. The time for complacency has passed. Real leadership requires real solutions, and the time to act is now. For the mother who sacrifices her meal to feed her children, for the farmer whose harvests have failed, and for the millions enduring hunger—this government must deliver hope, relief, and accountability. Anything less is a betrayal of our shared humanity.

A National Imperative

This is not just a political issue; it is a moral imperative. The government must rise above partisan divides and work tirelessly to restore hope and dignity to Zambian families. Failing to address this crisis with bold, transformative policies risks plunging the nation into further despair. The time to act is not tomorrow or next year—it is today. The future of Zambia depends on it.

Cornelius Mwetwa’s Statement Is a Mockery to the Suffering Masses

By Fletcher Kalobwe — SP MCC

I  find the recent remarks made by Hon. Cornelius Mwetwa, Chief Government Spokesperson of the UPND, to be an insult to the millions of Zambians who continue to endure untold suffering under this government’s watch. Hon. Mwetwa’s claim that his government has transformed more lives in the last three years than ever before is not only misleading but a blatant denial of the harsh realities facing ordinary citizens.

I challenge Hon. Mwetwa to substantiate his claims with facts and figures. What are the current poverty levels in Zambia compared to three years ago? In 2021, the poverty rate in Zambia stood at 47.9%, according to official statistics. Fast-forward to 2024 The Poverty Rate Now Stands at 64.92, is this the improvement Hon Mwetwa is boasting about? What transformation is he talking about?

The UPND government came to power on the back of promises to uplift the masses, yet the majority of Zambians continue to wallow in poverty while a privileged few in government circles enjoy wealth and luxury. The country is facing unprecedented challenges, including prolonged hours of load-shedding, a crisis that has crippled businesses, decimated jobs, and reduced productivity across all sectors. How can lives be transformed when economic growth is being stifled by a government incapable of resolving the energy crisis?

Hon. Mwetwa and his UPND government must stop hiding behind empty rhetoric and admit their failures. Transformation requires action, not talk. It requires tangible solutions to the challenges facing our people:

Address the Energy Crisis: Electricity is a key driver of economic growth. The ongoing load-shedding has forced businesses to shut down, resulting in massive job losses. The UPND must act swiftly to ensure reliable power supply for businesses and households.
The government must implement targeted policies to reduce poverty.

Economic Stability: Create jobs and support local businesses to boost productivity and economic growth. Unemployment among the youth, small-scale entrepreneurs, and rural communities remains alarmingly high.
While the UPND government brags about imaginary achievements, millions of Zambians are struggling to put food on their tables. Hon. Mwetwa, your government has failed to deliver on its promises. Instead of issuing statements that mock the suffering of our people, admit your failures and tell the nation what real, actionable measures you are taking to address these challenges.

The Socialist Party stands firmly with the Zambian masses. We believe in policies that prioritize the well-being of the majority, not the privileged few. Transformation is not about words—it is about actions that improve the lives of all citizens. Zambia deserves better than the empty promises and failed governance of the UPND.

Hypocrisy, Poor Planning, and Incompetence: The UPND’s Borrowing Crisis- Thompson K Luzendi

Hypocrisy, Poor Planning, and Incompetence: The UPND’s Borrowing Crisis.

Thompson K Luzendi  writes

The UPND government, which once positioned itself as a paragon of fiscal discipline, is now entangled in its own web of lies and contradictions. After vehemently criticizing the PF government for what they termed “reckless borrowing,” the UPND has fallen into the same cycle of debt dependency, with Parliament recently approving their request to borrow an additional $108 million on commercial rate.

This decision raises serious questions about the UPND’s competence, planning, and foresight—qualities they promised Zambians during their campaign for power. The hypocrisy of their actions, mixed with their past rhetoric, is glaring and deeply disappointing but we expected this from a party that lied its way to the Presidency.

During their campaign in 2021 and after assuming office, the UPND relentlessly criticized the PF for ballooning Zambia’s external debt to unsustainable levels. President Hakainde Hichilema and Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane repeatedly promised that their government would adopt a disciplined and transparent approach to borrowing.

Mr. Musokotwane, in particular, emphasized that borrowing would only occur in alignment with the annual budget and strictly for productive investments that would yield returns to pay off the loans. This promise was codified in the 2023 budget speech, where he outlined a borrowing plan designed to limit Zambia’s debt exposure and prevent a repeat of the debt crisis that led to Zambia’s default in 2020.

However, these assurances have proven hollow. The new request for $108 million, outside the initially outlined borrowing plan, is a clear deviation from their stated principles. The UPND’s actions have exposed a deep hypocrisy in their governance. They rose to power on the back of promises to restore fiscal prudence and economic stability. Instead, they are engaging in borrowing practices that, in some cases, may surpass the recklessness of the PF.

This borrowing spree comes at a time when ZESCO mistakenly sent $82 million to China and while Zambia is still grappling with the effects of its $13 billion external debt. The UPND must be held accountable for their actions. Their hypocrisy, poor planning, and incompetence are steering Zambia further into a debt trap.

The Zambian people voted for change and a government that would restore economic stability. The UPND must remember that they were elected to solve problems, not replicate the failures of the PF. If they continue on this path of hypocrisy and mismanagement, their time in office will be remembered as nothing more than a squandered opportunity.

PROPER PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE (5Ps)

PROPER PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE (5Ps)

What is becoming clear is that the UPND is very poor when it comes to planning ahead of time. This has been evidenced by late delivery of farming inputs and now we hear maize seed is in short supply, two supplementary budget requests to Parliament in 2024, poor execution procedures for CDF and just yesterday amendment to an already approved borrowing plan from concession to commercial borrowing. This is indeed sad when you have a Minister of Finance who has served in numerous prestigious positions to have such lapses.

Fast forward, we have heard that Zambezi River Authority has allocated 24 billion litres of water to both Zambia and Zimbabwe for 2025 power generation. Kindly explain in layman’s language how much megawatts of power we are going to generate in 2025. Will this allocation end load shedding? If not, inform the nation upfront what the load shedding outlook is for 2025 so that citizens and businesses can plan ahead of time.

The current load shedding is now a total disaster such that one can only sit and guess what time power will be available. The load shedding schedules seem completely discarded.

So, to aid planning ahead of 2025, provide the following:
1. How much power will be generated from hydro in 2025.
2. Is the power generation sufficient to end load shedding in 2025? We think the answer is categorical NO.
3. If the power generation is not sufficient to end load shedding, how many hours of load shedding per day should we expect?
4. To alleviate further suffering by our citizens, have we put measures in place to import power to close the demand deficit?
5. How much power are we going to import and from where?

6. To avoid an abrupt increase in tariffs under the pretext of “emergency tariffs adjustments” as was the case this year, what tarrifs rates should consumers expect? Same as current tarrifs or a further upwards adjustment!

We also request the Ministry of Finance and National Planning to go through similar steps in re-looking at the funding needs/plan to ensure its cast in stone and avoid regular visits to Parliament seeking amendments to borrowing plans and and supplementary budgets.

Since funding is mostly from government securities, ensure that there is enough headroom on the K300 billion ceiling for issuance of these securities. Otherwise, you will again be running to Parliament.

What is the current total exposure of Treasury Bills and Government Bonds in contrast to the K300 billion ceiling approved by Parliament? Is there sufficient headroom to issue these instruments without breaching the ceiling?

You also need to manage the maturity risk of foreign portfolio holding of government securities as this can have a serious impact on the exchange rate. Foreign investors tend to divest their investments when countries go to elections in emerging markets. The question is:
1. How much of our total Treasury Bills and Government Bonds are held by foreign bond holders?
2. How much of the foreign holding is maturing in 2025/2026?
3. How much international reserves do we have to offset any potential outflows upon maturity?
4. How much of the 2025 maturities is expected to be rolled over, and consequently, how much will be divested?

We are not here to belittle the government but help them manage future risks as we have seen just too many lapses.

Also, ensure parastatal companies loan repayments are communicated and approved by the Secretary to the Treasury to avoid what happened at Zesco with an erroneous $82 million payment.

ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COURT JAILS TWO ZESCO EMPLOYEES FOR FORGERY AND FRAUD IN KABWE

ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COURT JAILS TWO ZESCO EMPLOYEES FOR FORGERY AND FRAUD IN KABWE

The Economic and Financial Crimes Court in Kabwe has convicted and sentenced two ZESCO employees to three years imprisonment with hard labor for using forged Grade 12 certificates to secure employment, leading to the fraudulent acquisition of salaries and allowances amounting to over K5 million.

Delivering judgment, Magistrate Anna Holland found Kangwa Davies Mutale, 55, of Mkushi Boma, and Shield Mukosha, 49, of Chowa Compound in Kabwe, guilty of making and uttering false documents as well as obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretenses.

Magistrate Holland stated that the prosecution presented sufficient evidence proving the accused used forged documents to gain employment at ZESCO, subsequently earning salaries and allowances of K2,804,625 and K2,277,464 respectively over several years.

“The accused persons attached fake Grade 12 certificates to their job applications and went on to draw salaries and allowances from ZESCO for an extended period,” Magistrate Holland said.

She acknowledged the defense’s mitigation plea for leniency, highlighting that both men were first-time offenders who had carried out their work diligently. However, she emphasized the seriousness of the offense and the substantial financial impact involved.

“The gravity of this offense and the amounts dishonestly obtained cannot be ignored. However, I will exercise leniency due to the remorse shown by the convicts and their conduct throughout the proceedings,” she said.

Each convict was sentenced to three years imprisonment, to run consecutively, effective immediately.

The court heard that, Shield Mukosha forged a Grade 12 certificate bearing false examination and index numbers, which he presented to ZESCO between June 1, 2013, and July 31, 2024, resulting in the fraudulent acquisition of K2,277,464 in salaries and allowances.
Kangwa Davies Mutale similarly forged a Grade 12 certificate and obtained K2,804,625 in salaries and allowances between June 1, 2006, and July 31, 2024.

Both men were found guilty on three counts: making false documents, uttering false documents, and obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretenses.

The case, prosecuted by ZESCO’s Public Prosecutor Prisca Mwanza, highlighted the significant financial and ethical implications of forgery and fraud in the workplace.

The judgment serves as a stern warning against fraudulent activities and underscores the commitment of the judiciary to uphold integrity and accountability in public and private institutions.

WHY YOU SHOULD STOP TELLING BARBRA BANDA HOW SHE SHOULD DRESS!

WHY YOU SHOULD STOP TELLING BARBRA BANDA HOW SHE SHOULD DRESS!
Walliey Christiano Mukena

During Barbra Banda’s shaping years, growing up as a girl in Mtendere, the country had no point of reference for any Woman who had made it big in Sports: football or Boxing.

Imagine being Barbra Banda’s mother in those days, watching your girl child addicted to a male Sport that gives her no hope for any future.

The torture of your soul as a mother, the feeling of loss, the sense of hopelessness and embrace of misfortune and thoughts of being cursed each time you look at your girl nursing a bruised knee: She was playing football.

Take off your shoes right now and put yourself in Barbra Banda’s shoes through her childhood.

The scolding from the mother who did everything to stop her from playing football; a sport she loved herat and soul.

the broken relationship with the family,

the rejection and cold shoulders from a mother who felt embarassed by the path she had taken but she  held on to her dream, unshaken for seventeen years.

This is a story of a dark walk through a broken path of shame and loneliness. A path very few of you who criticise her dressing can walk.

A story of pain, a cross of embarassment on your shoulders; following you like your own shaddow, rejection and triumph kissing on  a stinking dumping cite of hate yet this triumph still refuses to lose its stench.

“…My mother, …She never approved and supported anything i did. The first time she began to believe is when i was called for the under 17 National team” Barbara claims in her own words .

This is a Barbara Banda you a nonentity in her life.

You who she doesnt even know  want to tell her how to dress and you think she will listen to you?

You must be kidding!

Each time you ask Barbara to dress like a girl,

Remember her first seventeen years and how many times her mother told her to stop playing football because no Woman in this country had ever made it in football but she refused to listen to her. So who are you that she will listen to you?

Each time you tell Barbara Banda to wear a dress,

Remember, her own officials from FAZ  at the previous WAFCON who were suppose to stand by her side during one of her most difficult times, turned against her,  told her to take pills to suppress her testos but Banda refused. Who are you to tell such a strong character to wear a dress she never wants to wear?

Each time you give your opinion over how Barbara must walk,

remember this is such a mentally strong character who has passed through the heaviest insults and hate speech from the world’s most influencial dark souls  but she has never ever at any point lost her smile or looked shaken!

She never gives a fuss.

Such a personality, such a  concrete loaded soul, such a champion and inspiration to every child, a path finder forged from her own self made furnance  and a born leader first to herself, her team and the world.

Lets for first time pocket any criticism of this girl, she has been through it all.

Celebrate a true human being, soul and Character she is. At only 24, its impossible to win the battles of life like Barbara is winning!

Will Smith Furious At Memes And Comments Linking Him to Diddy’s Escapades

0

Top actor Will Smith has joined the many celebrities who do not want to be linked to the many legal battles surrounding embattled rapper Sean Diddy Combs.

The Bad Boys Ride or Die star has decided to clear his name and address some social media rumors that sought to tarnish his image.

During a performance at the Observatory North Park Theater in San Diego on Thursday, December 12, he made some public comments, clarifying his relationship with Diddy.

“The world we’re in right now, it’s really hard for y’all to discern what’s real and what’s true, you know?…“I’ve been seeing y’all’s memes and stuff…

“Some of that stuff’s funny.…I haven’t addressed any of this publicly, but I just wanna say this very clearly: I don’t have s* to do with Puffy, so y’all can stop all them memes. You can stop all of that bulls*” he was quoted.

Will Smith said the public should disregard disparaging comments connecting him to charges leveled against the Bad Boys founder.

“I ain’t been nowhere near that man, ain’t did none of that stupid s***,” he claimed. “So whenever y’all hear it, if somebody say that, it’s a damn lie…“I don’t even like baby oil,” he teased.

“I usually don’t respond to dumbass stuff because it’s so many things. People say so much stuff. But that one — your memes was doing too much. Y’all was having me mad,” he added.

While many dissociate themselves from Sean Diddy Combs, television personality and rapper Nick Cannon recently spoke about the moments he spent at parties organized by Diddy.

Nick Cannon, however, clarified that the parties were not one of the so-called “freak off” sessions and its related escapades for which Diddy has been accused.

In an interview on The Breakfast Club, he said he was about 16 to 17 years old when he attended one of Diddy’s parties.

“I live my truth. I remember standing outside, you know, trying to get into a Puff party out here in New York… Everybody was Like, how the ‘One More Chance’ video looked, that’s the real stuff out here.

“I was in there Harlem shaking, doing all of that stuff,” the father of 12 recalled, explaining that the Bad Boy parties were the talk of the town back in the day, so he had to find his way to one of the events,” he noted.

Pope Francis has revealed he escaped a double su!cide b0mbing during a visit to Iraq

0

Pope Francis has revealed he escaped a double su!cide b0mbing during a visit to Iraq three years ago after the attempts on his life were foiled by British intelligence and Iraqi police.

Francis made the revelation in his upcoming autobiography, Spera (Hope), excerpts of which were shared with Corriere della Sera on Tuesday, the pontiff’s 88th birthday.

In the book, written by the Italian author Carlo Musso and due to be published in January, Francis said he later asked Vatican security what had become of the suicide bombers.

The Pope writes that, after landing in Baghdad in March 2021, he was told an event at which he was set to appear was being targeted by two suicide bombers. Both attackers were subsequently intercepted and killed, he said in excerpts published by Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The visit, which took place over three days during the coronavirus pandemic, was the first ever to Iraq by a pope and saw an intense security operation.

The years before had seen increased sectarian violence in Iraq, with fighting between Shia and Sunni Muslims as well as the persecution of religious minorities.

The country’s Christian community had shrunk dramatically, having been targeted in particular by the Islamic State group and other Sunni extremists. In excerpts from his autobiography, the Pope says “Almost everyone advised me against” the visit but he felt he “had to do it”.

He says the plot was uncovered by British intelligence, who warned Iraqi police, and they in turn told his security detail once he had touched down.

“A woman packed with explosives, a young suicide bomber, was heading towards Mosul to blow herself up during the papal visit,” he says.

“And a van had also set off at great speed with the same intention.”

The Pope adds that he asked a security official the following day what had happened to the would-be attackers.

“The [official] replied laconically: ‘They are no more’. The Iraqi police had intercepted them and blown them up,” he wrote.

The book, entitled Hope, is due to be published on 14 January.

‘Nothing Is Impossible’ –Vinicius Junior Shares Emotional Story After Winning FIFA Best Award

0

Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior has described the FIFA Best award as a dream come true after enduring tough times while growing up in Brazil, and backlash for failing to attend the Ballon d’Or award ceremony.

The Brazilian was criticised for his on-field antics when he missed out on the Ballon d’Or award to Manchester City’s Rodri.

Vinicius, and the Real Madrid contingent failed to attend the award ceremony after they found out that he would not be winning the award.

On Tuesday night, Vinicius was named FIFA men’s player of the year in Doha, beating Rodri, and Jude Bellingham to the award.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a successful year for Real Madrid, leading the club to the Champions League and La Liga double with 24 goals in all competitions.

Vinicius became the third Real Madrid player to win the award after Cristiano Ronaldo, and Luka Modric.

He opened up on how he overcame poverty, crime while growing up to become a successful footballer.

Vinicius said: “I don’t even know where to begin because it seemed impossible to get here. I was a kid playing barefoot in the streets of São Gonçalo (in Rio de Janeiro) surrounded by poverty and crime, so to be able to be here means a lot to me.

“I’m a role model for many kids who think everything is impossible, and that they can’t get this far.

Vinicius took a subtle shade at the organisers of the Ballon d’Or, by claiming that no one can tell him how to behave.

He said: “They’ve tried and tried to invalidate me, to diminish me. But they’re not ready. No one is going to tell me who I should fight for, how I should behave.

“When I was in São Gonçalo, the system didn’t care about me. I was almost swallowed up.

“I won for myself, for my family. With a lot of support along the way: Flamengo, Real Madrid, the Brazilian national team, my hundreds of teammates over the years… the people who accompany me every day in my routine, those who admire me.

“I want to continue playing for Real Madrid for a long time. It’s the greatest club in the world,” said Vinícius Júnior. “(But) I have to thank Flamengo, the club that put me on the pitch, in the world. And I’d also like to thank all the players of the Brazilian national team and my country, which always supported me, cheered for me, and which gives me strength to carry on in every struggle.”

Brazilian players took to social media to celebrate Vinicius.

Ronaldo De Lima was full of praise for Vinicius, saying that the best player in the world is a Brazilian.

He wrote: “It has been 16 years since the last time the trophy for the best player in the world came to Brazil.

“Now deservedly in Vini’s hands, it means much more than his decisive role in the games and the extraordinary numbers in the 2023/24 season.

“His talent would be enough to win the award, but his power goes far beyond the field

“They tried to erase you, my friend. And you rocked. The best player in the world is black and Brazilian.”

Neymar wrote: “Well deserved. Very happy for you. Keep flying.”

Vinicius is the first Brazilian to win the award since 2007 after Kaka, who led AC Milan to the Champions League trophy in the same year.

Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti was named the coach of the year.

More than 40% of young voters say UnitedHealthcare CEO killing was ‘acceptable’

0

A shocking number of young people support UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s killer, with 41 percent saying that Luigi Mangione’s alleged actions are “acceptable,” an Emerson College poll has found.

Twenty-four percent of U.S. voters aged 18-29 answered that Mangione’s alleged cold-blooded killing was somewhat acceptable, and 17 percent said it was completely acceptable.

There was also a stark split among those polled, with 22% of Democrats saying they find the killer’s actions acceptable compared to only 12% of Republicans and 16% of independents who do.

The poll involved 1,000 voters and was conducted last week.

Mangione, 26, was indicted Tuesday on upgraded charges of murder as an act of terrorism. A grand jury charged him with first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder after he allegedly gunned down Thompson outside a Hilton in Midtown on December 4.

Since the healthcare executive‘s brutal death , there has been a disturbing trend by young people who celebrate his murder especially those angered by the healthcare insurance industry in the US.

Former Washington Post journalist, Taylor Lorenz posted “And people wonder why we want these executives dead,” on BlueSky after news of Thompson’s murder broke.

“If you have watched a loved one die because an insurance conglomerate has denied their life saving treatment as a cost cutting measure, yes, it’s natural to wish that the people who run such conglomerates would suffer the same fate,” she said in an article defending her vile comments.

Meanwhile, a socialist professor at Mangione’s alma mater, University of Pennsylvania venerated the alleged killer on social media, calling the accused murderer an “icon.” Julia Alekseyeva, an assistant professor of English and Cinema & Media Studies, posted on TikTok that she has “never been prouder to be a professor at the University of Pennsylvania.”

Also trolls on social media bashed the McDonald’s worker who tipped police off to Mangione’s presence in the restaurant, with others calling to boycott the fast-food franchise.

“To the stupid b–h that ratted out my baby Luigi Mangione…you will be dealt with,” one troll posted with a violent “Family Guy” GIF showing a character shooting another in the head.

Also some individuals went so far as to set up a legal defense fund for Mangione.

In another development, Chilling “Wanted” posters featuring Thompson’s face and names and photos of other healthcare executives were spotted plastered all over Manhattan this week.

The signs issued a stark warning threatening that “HEALTH CARE CEOS SHOULD NOT FEEL SAFE.”

The alleged assassin, who comes from a well-to-do Maryland family led police on a five-day manhunt after he fatally shot Thompson on his way to the UnitedHealthcare parent company’s investor conference before finally being caught while eating at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s.

R@pist actor who said he was Brad Pitt’s body-double jailed for r@ping 5 women

An actor who claimed he was a stand-in for Brad Pitt has been jailed for r@ping five women and attacking two others in a decade-long campaign of abus£.

Luke Ford, 35, was also found guilty of secretly removing a condom during s£x in what is believed to be Scotland’s first “stealthing” case.

The jobbing actor bragged of standing in for Hollywood star Pitt on the 2013 zombie apocalypse blockbuster World War Z, part of which was filmed in Glasgow.

He was jailed for 21 years at the city’s High Court today after being convicted of 18 charges relating to the abuse of seven female partners, five of whom he r@ped

Prosecutors told how Ford would use dating apps to prey on women, love-bombing them before seeking to control and abuse them.

One method of exerting control was to secretly take intimate photos and videos which he would blackmail them with to do as he demanded, the court heard.

Ford was said to have met a psychologist on Tinder in 2017 and the court heard how the pair discussed having s£x after several dates.

When she insisted she would not do so without a condom, Ford replied: “Good idea.”

But when she handed him one in bed, he did not use it.

Giving evidence, the woman said: “I was shocked and upset. I would not have had s£x with him without a condom. I asked him to leave. I felt completely violated.”

When she challenged Ford the following day, he dismissed her as “paranoid” and said it was “no big deal”, adding: “Just get the pill and if you are pregnant get rid of it.”

Ford, originally of Stirling, was also found guilty of several ass@ults, including str@ngling one victim and banging another’s head against a car window.

Katrina Parkes, procurator fiscal for High Court s£xual offending, said: “Luke Ford is a serial offender who demonstrated no respect for the consent of his victims.

“He was prepared to use manipulation, force or threats to carry out his abuse. He showed disregard for the importance of consent between partners.

“It is significant that amongst the many offences he committed our prosecutors were able to prove rape in Ford’s failure to use a condom during s£x – without the consent of his then-partner.

“This demonstrates the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service’s commitment to continued development in the way s£xual offences are prosecuted, using every tool at our disposal to secure justice for victims.

“I hope that the many victims in this troubling case find some relief in Ford being held accountable for his offending. I commend them for their courage and strength.

“I would urge any victim of similar offending to take confidence from Ford’s conviction. Please come forward, report your experience and seek help.”

Mario Balotelli’s ex-girlfriend and model, Tabby Brown d!ed after complications from a Brazilian Butt Lift

A former Playboy model who dated ex-Manchester City star Mario Balotelli d!ed after complications from a Brazilian Butt Lift, it has been revealed.

Tabby Brown, 45, died suddenly in October 2023 just days after returning from the Dominican Republic where she had gone for liposuction treatment.

Tabby, who also appeared in Cosmopolitan and Elle, was also an actor and dancer and said of the extrovert Italian footballer she fell for him ‘against my better judgement’.

The inquest which was held at South London Coroners Court heard from her mother, brother and sister who paid an emotional tribute to her.

In a statement, they said: ‘After Tabby’s surgery abroad, she returned to the family home and was cared for by our mother, who was under the impression she had picked up a viral infection whilst travelling.

‘Tabby did not inform her mother that she’d had surgery. Generally, Tabby was in good health, she was an avid fitness enthusiast and enjoyed weight training.

‘She was a foodie, who in recent years particularly enjoyed baking. Tabby had enjoyed a successful career as a model, having featured in music videos of several well-known British and American artists.

‘She was also the face of many ad campaigns for recognised brands.

Update: Footballer Mario Balotelli
Tabby was well-known and well-liked by many personally and professionally.

‘She had a big laugh, smile and a personality that charmed many and matched her beauty.

‘Close family and close friends take solace from the fact that she experienced many years in which she lived out her dreams.

‘But we are also saddened by her premature departure, we love and miss Tabby very much and will always keep her memory close to our hearts.’

The inquest heard how police had arrived at the south London home she shared with her mother after she collapsed in the early hours and an ambulance was called.

Tabby was found on the floor, not breathing and her mother Mahasin told police she had returned from a two-week trip to South America just three days earlier.

Within hours of arriving home, Tabby began to feel unwell and the court heard that paramedics found ‘two puncture wounds in her pelvis area that confirmed cosmetic surgery.’

In a statement read by coroner Julian Morris, Mahasin said Tabby had not wanted to seek medical advice and instead had taken painkillers and the day she died ‘felt weak’.

Paramedics declared her dead at the scene at 1.30am on October 13 and a postmortem confirmed she had undergone recent cosmetic surgery.

Toxicology reports came back negative for drink and drugs, but her lungs showed ‘numerous small globules of fat’ and this ‘fat embolism in her circulation’ led to her death.

According to medical journals, death following plastic surgery is rare, but it has been on the increase due to the rise of liposuction interventions.

Lil Wayne Reconciles With Kendrick Lamar Ahead Of Super Bowl Halftime Show

Rapper Lil Wayne says he has congratulated and encouraged Kendrick Lamar as the Not Like Us hitmaker prepared for the Super Bowl Halftime Show next year.

He made this known during the Skip Bayless Show on YouTube, touching on the previous controversies surrounding Kendrick’s choice for the event.

Addressing the issue, Lil Wayne noted he would one day get the opportunity to headline the show just as his compatriot had his chance.

“I wanna get to the point where I’m undeniable… I want them to walk in there and have 10 other choices, and whoever’s in charge says ‘No, you have to go with him,” he stated.

There were lots of social media reactions when Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headliner for the Apple Music Halftime show. Some musicians congratulated him, but Lil Wayne had some reservations.

Barely a week after Kendrick Lamar got the nod, the Mirror composer expressed disappointment about not being chosen for the concert.

In an Instagram Live post, he expressed gratitude to those who spoke on his behalf following the snub, indicating that he was quite “heartbroken.”

“First of all, I wanna say forgive me for the delay…I wanna say, first of all, I had to get strength. I had to get strength enough to do this without breaking,” he stated.

“I wanna say thank you to every voice, every opinion, all the care, all the love and the support out there. Your words turned into arms and held me up when I tried to fall back. That hurt. Hurt a lot. You know what I’m talking about. It hurt a whole lot,” he added.

The Lolipop rapper also blamed himself for not preparing mentally for the “disappointment,” but he would look forward to brighter days in the future.

“I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically mentally putting myself in that position as somebody told me that was my position. So I blame myself for that.”

“But you all are truly amazing. When I felt down about not getting this chance, you reminded me that I’m nothing without you. That’s a powerful truth. This experience broke me, and I’m trying to rebuild myself…” he noted. Kendrick Lamar was announced by the NFL as the lead performer for the event in 2025, following which music legend Jay-Z expressed support and endorsement.

Real Madrid Defeat Pachuca To Win Intercontinental Cup

Real Madrid recorded a 3-0 win over Mexican side Pachuca in the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup in Doha on Wednesday.

Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo Goes scored the goals to lead Carlo Ancelotti’s side to another trophy.

Mbappe opened the scoring in the 37th minute before Rodrygo Goes doubled Madrid’s lead early in the second half. Vinicius sealed a comfortable win for the European champions with a late penalty.

Vinicius, who is fresh from winning the FIFA Best Player of the year award further established his importance to Real Madrid with his eighth goal in 12 finals for the club.

Carlo Ancelotti also became the most successful coach in the history of Real Madrid with his 15th trophy in two spells in charge of the club.

He has now won three Champions League trophies, two LaLiga titles, two Copa del Reys, two Spanish Supercopas, three UEFA Super Cups, two Club World Cups, and now the Intercontinental Cup.

The Italian manager was delighted to add another trophy to his impressive cabinet.

Ancelotti Said: “I’m very happy, It’s a success, we took control little by little, and ended the game well. We have those differences of quality always, but we also have to show the right attitude. Today, in the end, I liked that. In the end, up front, we made the difference … In attack we did well. We have a lot of quality, Kylian [Mbappé] played a good game, and Rodrygo scored. We’re happy.”

The FIFA Intercontinental Cup is an annual club association football tournament organised by FIFA.

The tournament is made of the six teams that won the previous edition of the continental championships in each FIFA confederation, playing each other in a single-elimination bracket.

It was formerly known as the Club World Cup which has now been expanded and reorganised into a quadrennial tournament with more teams.

Russia detains a man from Uzbekistan over the killing of a senior Russian general

0

Russia said on Wednesday it had detained a man from Uzbekistan over the killing of a senior Russian general and his assistant in Moscow a day earlier.

Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, who headed Russia’s radiological, biological and chemical protection forces, was killed by a remotely detonated bomb planted in an electric scooter outside his apartment building.

The blast came a day after Ukrainian prosecutors indicted Kirillov in absentia for Russia’s use of banned chemical weapons during its invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine’s security service, the SBU, was reportedly behind the attack.

Russia’s Investigative Committee said the 29-year-old Uzbek suspect was recruited by the SBU and acting on its instructions. It claimed that the suspect had been offered a reward of $100,000 in cash and the chance to flee and live in a European country.

“The detainee received a homemade explosive device and placed it on an electric scooter which he parked at the entrance to the residential building where Igor Kirillov lived,” the committee said.

Russia detains man over b0mb ass@ssination of senior general in Moscow after he was allegedly promised $100k and relocation to Europe by Ukraine

The suspect had rented a car and fitted it with a surveillance camera to monitor Kirillov’s residence, it added. The footage was monitored by the attack’s organizers in Ukraine’s eastern city of Dnipro, it said, who remotely detonated the bomb when they saw Kirillov and his assistant leave the building on Ryazansky Street early Tuesday morning.

Kirilov, aged 54, was the most senior military official known to be killed since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. A source in Ukraine’s SBU told CNN that Kirillov’s “inglorious end awaits all those who kill Ukrainians” and that “retribution for war crimes is inevitable.”

Kirillov’s assassination struck not only at the core of Russia’s military but close to the heart of the nation’s capital, just 7 kilometres (4 miles) from the Kremlin. His death marked the fourth killing of key military figures on Russian soil in the last two months alone.

Russian state media identified the suspect as Akhmad Kurbanov and published a video of him – recorded by Russia’s spy agency, the FSB – seeming to confess to planting the bomb that killed Kirillov. It was not clear whether the individual was speaking under duress.

In a press briefing Wednesday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Kirillov’s assassination shows Ukraine “does not shy away from using terrorist methods.”

A source in Ukraine’s SBU told CNN on Tuesday that Kirillov “was a war criminal and an absolutely legitimate target, as he gave orders to use banned chemical substances against the Ukrainian military.”

A day before his killing, the SBU said that, on Kirillov’s orders, Russia had used more than 4,800 cases of chemical munitions since the war began. CNN has previously reported on Russia’s use of tear gas as a weapon in Ukraine.

Nicolas Sarkozy to wear electronic tag after losing graft case appeal

0

France’s highest appeals court on Wednesday upheld a corruption and influence peddling conviction against former president Nicolas Sarkozy, ordering him to wear an electronic tag for a year—marking the first time a former French head of state has faced such a penalty.

Sarkozy, previously found guilty of illegal attempts to secfavoursvors from a judge, will “evidently” respect the terms of the conviction following the Court of Cassation’s ruling, his lawyer Patrice Spinosi told AFP. However, Spinosi added that Sarkozy intends to take the case to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) within weeks.

This move to the Strasbourg-based court will not delay the enforcement of Wednesday’s decision. Sarkozy has exhausted all legal options in France, and the sanction now comes into effect.

Spinosi described the ruling as a “sad day” where “a former president is required to take action before European judges to have condemned a state over whose destiny he once presided.”

In 2021, a lower court found that Sarkozy and his former lawyer Thierry Herzog formed a “corruption pact” with Judge Gilbert Azibert to obtain and share confidential information about a legal investigation. The court handed Sarkozy a three-year sentence—two years suspended, with the remaining year to be served as home detention under electronic monitoring. That ruling was upheld by an appeals court last year.

Sarkozy, 69, has maintained his innocence throughout, with his lawyer affirming that he would “not give up this fight.”

The former president, who served from 2007 to 2012 before losing re-election, has been plagued by legal battles since leaving office. Alongside the current case—referred to as “Bismuth”—Sarkozy faces separate charges over campaign finance overspending and allegations of Libyan financing for his 2007 presidential campaign.

Despite his legal woes, Sarkozy remains a prominent figure on the French right and is known to hold significant influence. He also maintains ties to President Emmanuel Macron, with whom he reportedly meets on occasion.

Sources told AFP that Sarkozy recently visited the Elysee Palace to discourage Macron from appointing centrist Francois Bayrou as prime minister, a figure Sarkozy is said to deeply dislike. However, after weeks of hesitation, Macron ultimately named Bayrou to the role.

Rapper Drake has reportedly awarded Canadian Dollars (CAD 10,000) to the winner of a lookalike contest

Rapper Drake has reportedly awarded Canadian Dollars (CAD 10,000) to the winner of a lookalike contest held in Toronto.

The contest, according to sources, was organized by Casuals Cakery on Saturday, December 14, to find the city’s best Drake lookalike.

Persons close to the event said the grand prize was initially meant to be a bottle of Hennessy and a pack of cigars, but Drake decided to make the package better when he caught wind of the event.

Organizers said a group of contestants were declared winners, meaning the prize money would be shared among the group.

The event was described as the latest celebrity lookalike contest to be held. It took off in October when a similar contest was held at Washington Square Park in Downtown Manhattan.

Organizers of the first event reportedly incurred a fine for hosting it without a permit, attracting a crowd of around 900 people.

Drake was reported not present at the event in Toronto but shared some clips on his Instagram stories, which have now expired.

The Search and Rescue rapper has had a tough rap battle with Kendrick Lamar in the past month. Both rappers released some diss songs, with Kendrick emerging with a world-acclaimed hit song, Not Like Us.

Drake recently filed two legal actions against Universal Music Group in relation to Not Like Us, alleging that UMG “artificially inflated” streaming numbers for the song and involved undisclosed “pay-to-play” schemes.

He also claimed in another suit that UMG “knowingly” approved of Not Like Us being released despite Kendrick Lamar’s lyrics alleging that Drake is a “pedophile.”

About the suit on inflating streaming figures, Universal Music Group maintained that streaming numbers for Not Like Us represented the numerous fans worldwide who chose to listen to the song over and over again.

Describing the allegations as “offensive and untrue, UMD said it did not conspire with Spotify to “artificially” boost the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track.

“The suggestion that UMG would do anything to undermine any of its artists is offensive and untrue…

“We employ the highest ethical practices in our marketing and promotional campaigns. No amount of contrived and absurd legal arguments in this pre-action submission can mask the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear,” the company said in a statement to Billboard.

GOVERNMENT REINTRODUCES NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL LEAVERS

GOVERNMENT REINTRODUCES NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL LEAVERS.

December 18, 2024

LUSAKA – PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says government has reintroduced the National Service training program for school leavers.

President Hichilema said this initiative, which had been phased out in previous years, will now offer young people the opportunity to undergo a structured training program focused on discipline, skills development, and community service.

The President was speaking when he addressed Lusaka District UPND officials this morning at the Party Secretariat.
“This decision is driven by the desire to empower our youth, provide them with practical skills, and instill a sense of patriotism and national pride,” President Hichilema said.

He also said that UPND believe that by reintroducing National Service, young Zambians will be equipped with the tools they need to thrive in their personal and professional lives, while also contributing to the development of our nation.”
President Hichilema said the National Service training program will be available to all school leavers, regardless of their academic background, and will focus on both hard and soft skills.

He said participants will receive training in a variety of fields, including agriculture, construction, healthcare, and technical skills, helping to bridge the gap between education and employment. The program will also offer opportunities for community service, where participants can engage in projects that benefit local communities.
“One of the key benefits of this initiative is its potential to reduce unemployment by creating a skilled workforce ready to contribute to Zambia’s growing economy,” President Hichilema explained. “It will also foster a sense of unity among the youth, as they work together to contribute to national development.”

By emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and social responsibility, the program aims to create a generation of young people who are not only skilled but also committed to the nation’s well-being.

The President emphasized that the program would be voluntary and open to all eligible young people, ensuring that it is inclusive and accessible. “This is an opportunity for our youth to give back to the nation while also gaining valuable skills that will serve them throughout their lives,” President Hichilema added.
And the President said the reintroduction of National Service is expected to begin in 2024, with training taking place in various centers across the country.

President Hichilema stressed that this initiative is part of the broader effort to empower Zambia’s youth, who make up a significant portion of the population, by offering them pathways to meaningful employment and contributing to the long-term development of the country.

The UPND’s mobilisation campaign is framed not just as a response to immediate challenges but as a strategic move to consolidate political support, foster unity, and position the party as the true champion of national development.
The President’s message is clear: by staying united and focused on delivering on campaign promises, the UPND can secure its long-term political future while shaping Zambia’s prosperous future.

Reckless talk by Dr. Nevers Mumba- From the Pulpit to the Puppet- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

Reckless talk by Dr. Nevers Mumba- From the Pulpit to the Puppet

I try hard or shy away to discuss my brother Dr.Nevers Mumba.

My elder brother is a bag of clear missed opportunities. He squanders, wastes, throws away, misses and loses every opportunity that comes his way.

His transition from the pulpit to the political stage quickly exposed his total lack of principles and values that previously earned him people’s admiration and respect.
He deserted the pulpit and formed the National Christian Coalition (NCC) in 1997 and later became a political party, an organisation he traded and sold for a political opportunity. Since then, this has become an established modus operandi, trading party for a morsel of food.

He has demonstrated again and again, how he can abandon personal integrity for a morsel of food, like Esau, he can trade his birthright to his brother Jacob, for a bowl of lentil stew.

Mumba has been priviliged to be a pioneer tv tel-evangelist and Vice President of the Republic of Zambia.

Having attained such a position, he was expected to continue to grow in stature, respect and wisdom. However, he misses the opportunity. He has been too quick to behave like a lowly ranked praise singer and cadre to impress his newly found boss.

For example, how does this talk help the UPND candidate win the Kawambwa by-election?. He sounds like he purposefully decided to sabotage the slim chances of their candidate by engaging in careless and reckless talk.

People across the country are genuinely grieved by the circumstances of Hon. Nixon Chilangwa and Ronald Chitotela. They mirror the pain and anguish of what members of the Opposition are going through.

Many are aware of how the law has been used and abused to fight and jail the two comrades( read the proceedings, circumstances and judgement of Magistrate Martin Namushi).

Many are aware of how lawfare (Lawfare is the use of legal systems and institutions to damage or delegitimize an opponent, or to deter someone from using their legal rights) is being used against members of the Opposition and how tainted the legal processes against members of the Opposition are.

Even legal rights such as police bond and court bail are no longer available for members of the Opposition.

But our outspoken brother doesnt see it.

“It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, [5] who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age [6] and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace”. Hebrew 6:4-6

Anyway, Lesa amupale ba Mumba.

TRUE REASON WHY IRENE LUNGU DOESN’T WANT THE NEWLY APPOINTED PPROs

TRUE REASON WHY IRENE LUNGU DOESN’T WANT THE NEWLY APPOINTED PPROsTRUE REASON WHY IRENE LUNGU DOESN’T WANT THE NEWLY APPOINTED PPROsTRUE REASON WHY IRENE LUNGU DOESN’T WANT THE NEWLY APPOINTED PPROs

Below is the true reason why Irene Lungu doesn’t want the newly appointed Principal Public Relations Officers   while she is enjoying a similar job at government institution (ZAFFICO).

Irene Lungu is a daughter to former President Edgar Lungu’s brother who was handpicked by the PF in May 2021 to be president of the defunct Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communications (ZIPRC).

She was singlehandedly and finder picked to manage all Public Relations Officers and Journalists both in private and government in order to push a PF narrative of Alebwelelapo.

As a result, she was rewarded a lucrative job as a Public Relations officer for the government agency called ZAFFICO.

Before being taken to ZAFFICO by the PF, she was singlehandedly employed by PF and planted at ZEMA to ensure that illegal mining in the Lower Zambezi is done. She was daily working with Mikalile who is an ardent agent and front of Edgar Lungu.

Therefore, to think that such a human being can embrace President Hakainde Hichilema’s UPND vision and appointees to spearhead communication development is day dreaming.

If Irene Lungu has a bit of brains, she should have been enticing all the Public Relations Officers in the public and private sector to join her institution the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC) which she is turning into a moribund bicycle for siphoning membership fees.

Apparently, we are reliably informed that Edgar Lungu’s daughter Irene Lungu is objecting and condemning the the appointment of Principal Public Relations Officers across all Ministries and Provinces appointed by the UPND administration. This is understood! She has no morals. She is PF. Her blood is PF. She is loyal to PF and Lungu except enjoying the sweat of UPND.

The current PF Public Relations officers in ministries have refused to implement the UPND vision and instead they have been sabotaging and leaking information to their masters who employed them as loyal guards. This is why their Ministries have deliberately been loudly quiet.

And it is only justifiable that the UPND government after 3 years of being in office should employ their own loyal people to implement its vision as opposed to watching things being run down by a clique of PF cronies who Irene Lungu wants to continue sabotaging the UPND government.

The following is the disgraced leadership of her moribund PF and Edgar Lungu led ZIPRC.

M’MEMBE CALLS FOR NEW LEADERSHIP IN ZAMBIA

M’MEMBE CALLS FOR NEW LEADERSHIP IN ZAMBIA

…says the SP is ready to deliver that new leadership

Kawambwa.. Wednesday, December 18, 2024

Socialist Party (SP) President Dr Fred M’membe says the nation needs new leadership for the future, and that his party is ready to deliver new leadership.

He expressed a passionate commitment to Zambia’s future, stating that the values he brings to leadership were instilled in him by his strong upbringing.

Dr M’membe acknowledges that life could be harsh but believes that as a people, Zambians have a responsibility to help lift each other up when one fell down, emphasising decency and fairness.

He has highlighted the absolute value of hard work, the importance of not being wasteful, and planning for the future as enduring values he would bring to the nation’s challenges as President.

“In 2026, Zambians would face a stark choice between the future and the past, deciding how to secure the future for their children, communities, and nation” he said.

He believes that the government must truly change, criticising the current and previous governments’ policies as belonging to the past and not helping the majority of the people.

Dr M’membe has criticised President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND government, stating that after two years and nine months, they have lost touch with the poor and working people and no longer understood what fairness, justice, equity, and peace meant.

He emphasizes the need to change hospitals and make health services free and socialised, and to transform the education system to make it free, of great quality, and socialized.

He argues that the UPND has no plans for the future and that the way forward for Zambia was to choose compatriots and a party with progressive ideas to meet future challenges.

He has called for new leaders who understand and respect the values upon which their independence struggle was fought, criticising the current distribution of land.

The SP President stresses the need for leaders with values of honesty, equity, humility, and solidarity to build a Zambia anchored on justice, equity, and peace, where there is decency, fairness, and respect.

An Open Letter to Hon. Jack Mwiimbu – Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security

Your Hypocritical Remarks on the Eligibility Judgment Delivered on December 10th

Dear Hon. Jack Mwiimbu,

I write this letter with deep concern after watching a video in which you passionately declared that the recent eligibility judgment delivered on December 10th, 2024, regarding Former President Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu was “the best judgment.” You went as far as to claim that this was the decision that “should have been made back in 2020” and that it now prevents Dr. Lungu from contesting in 2026 because, according to you, “the December 10th ruling became law.”

The question that begs an answer, sir, is this: Were the four earlier judgments on the same eligibility case not law? If those previous rulings were not law, what were they? And if they were indeed law—as every judgment from a competent court must be—what suddenly makes this one “the best judgment”? What exactly has changed, other than the fact that this ruling serves your political narrative?

Selective Respect for the Rule of Law

It is both hypocritical and shameful for you to now stand before the Zambian people and lecture us on respecting the law, simply because the judgment has tilted in your favor. Is that how the rule of law operates? Is it only law when the decision aligns with your interests? What about the previous judgments that did not favor you—did they not matter?

This selective respect for judicial outcomes exposes a glaring double standard in your understanding of justice. You conveniently dismiss decisions you dislike while celebrating those that benefit you. Let me remind you: the rule of law is not a tool to be wielded for political convenience. It is a cornerstone of democracy that must be upheld consistently, regardless of whether it suits your agenda.

Do You Think Zambians Are Blind Praise Singers?

Sir, the people of Zambia are not fools. You seem to assume that all Zambians lack critical thinking and are merely blind praise singers, incapable of discerning the truth. On the contrary, we see your desperation for what it is. Your sudden enthusiasm for “lawfulness” reeks of hypocrisy and highlights your unwillingness to accept genuine democratic competition.

If this judgment truly represents justice, it would not require so much energy and urgency to justify it. Your celebratory tone comes across as defensive, as if you feel the need to convince us that this ruling is final and untouchable. Why the urgency, sir? Why does the prospect of Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu contesting in 2026 unsettle you so much?

Why Are You Afraid of Dr. Lungu?

This brings me to a fundamental question: Why are you so afraid of Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu? If your government has truly delivered on its promises to the Zambian people, why should you fear his return to the political arena? Shouldn’t you trust that the electorate will reward good leadership and make fair, independent choices?

Your fear betrays a deeper insecurity—an awareness that the people of Zambia are watching, questioning, and may not be as easily swayed as you hope. Instead of spending time convincing Zambians that one judgment is “the best law” while dismissing others, perhaps you should focus on delivering development and good governance. After all, it is service—not legal gymnastics—that wins elections.

The Rule of Law Is for Everyone

The rule of law is not a buffet where you pick and choose what suits your appetite. It applies equally to everyone, regardless of political affiliation. True respect for the judiciary means accepting all judgments, whether or not they favor you. It also means refraining from manipulating legal outcomes to eliminate political opponents. If you are truly confident in this ruling, then let democracy take its course.

Conclusion: Let the People Decide

Hon. Mwiimbu, Zambia is a democratic nation, and in a democracy, it is the people—not politicians or selective interpretations of court rulings—who decide who will lead them. Instead of being consumed by Dr. Lungu’s potential candidacy, I urge you to focus on serving the Zambian people with fairness, humility, and integrity.

The Zambian people are watching. We will not allow anyone to manipulate the law for political gain or rewrite history to suit their agenda. If you believe in your leadership and your party’s vision, face the competition head-on and let the will of the people prevail.

Respectfully,
Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Chitotela to appeal against the 10 year imprisonment

0

SOON after being jailed, Pambeshe lawmaker Ronald Chitotela’s lawyers indicated that their client will appeal against the 10 year imprisonment imposed on him for arson.

During trial, the former cabinet minister was represented by Kapamba Kombe, Jonas Zimba, Frank Lungu and Benjamin Mwelwa.
After their client was found guilty, the lawyers had applied that the Kabwe High Court should review the conviction before sentencing the convict but the judge refused.

Frank Lungu, one of the lawyers, told journalists yesterday, the defence expected the court to review the conviction before sentencing.
“We are definitely appeal[against the sentence],” Mr Lungu said as Chitotela and two others were taken to a maximum correctional facility.
Yesterday, the Kabwe High Court sentenced the Patriotic Front (PF) lawmaker to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour for arson during 2021 general election campaigns.

Judge Irene Mbewe, who sat in Kabwe, jailed the former Minister of Tourism alongside his brother Kunda Chitotela while the third convict is Davies Kaniki.

The court found convicted the trio for setting ablaze a Mahindra vehicle belonging to the United Party for National Development Luapula Province youth committee during campaigns for the 2021 general election.

When passing the verdict, the adjudicator, who condemned political violence, noted that the convicts committed the crime during elections.
Judge Mbewe said the burning of the car was done either aimed at causing fear or intimidating political opponents, adding that the elections should not be characterised by violence or any action that will cause people to be afraid.
“In a civilised democratic dispensation such as Zambia, each candidate should sell his or her ideas by not demeaning or intimidating others,” she said.

Judge Mbewe considered the damage caused to the burnt before imposing
“In respect of all the convicts Ronald Chitotela, Davies Kaniki and Kunda Chitotela, I impose the minimum sentence of 10 years imprisonment with hard labour from the date of conviction,” the judge ordered as the convicts’ relatives wept.
The matter came up for confirmation of conviction and the sentencing after a lower court found the convicts guilty.
On July 22, 2024, Kawambwa Magistrate Martin Namushi convicted the trio of the arson and committed them to the High Court for sentencing.

When the convicts first appeared before Judge Mbewe on December 2, 2024, their lawyers applied that the Judge should vary the conviction imposed on their client by magistrate Namushi.

The case was then adjourned to yesterday for ruling on the application for variation of the conviction
But Judge Mbewe dismissed the application for variation of the conviction because it was forum shopping” and “an abuse of court process.
Defence lawyers had pleaded for leniency before the verdict was passed.

However , the judge said arson is a serious offence with the potential of causing damage to property and human life.
“The behaviour of the three leaves much to be desired despite the presence of the police at the time to calm the situation the took the matters into their own hands,” Judge Mbewe said.
The judgement left the convicts and their relatives in tears.

Fans stunned by height gap between Denzel Washington’s daughter and her wife

Denzel Washington’s daughter, Katia Washington alongside her wife, Colleen Wilson left fans stunned after their attendance at the Critics Choice Association’s 7th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema and Television.

Katia is a film producer and donned a sleek ensemble which featured a dark khaki green blazer and matching pants, paired with a white shirt and skinny tie.

Katia’s wife, Colleen is a former ballerina standing at an impressive 6 feet 4 inches, and turned heads in a black off-the-shoulder midi dress complemented by nude heels and a gold box clutch.

The couple’s coordinated style earned lots of admiration on the day, yet their incredible height difference has become the talk of the town on social media after videos from the event were posted on TikTok.

“Is she really short, or is her wife just really tall?” one user said.

“How tall is she?”, another stated. “The height difference is crazy. As a tall girl, I love that she’s still wearing her heels”, a third commented.

Others could not help but marvel at the revelation that 69-year-old Denzel Washington has a daughter. “Y’all are tripping over that being his daughter. I’m trying to figure out HOW TALL IS HER WIFE??!” one user joked.

Denzel and his wife Pauletta Pearson have been married for 41 years and share four children, John David, 39; Katia, 37; and twins Malcolm and Olivia, 33.

The couple married in 1983 and welcomed their first child, John David, the year after.

Both Katia and Malcolm decided to tread a similar path to that of their father in the film industry, and seem to be having a great time.

Malcolm recently made his debut in directing with The Piano Lesson, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024.

Denzel Washington is considered one of the best actors in history and made sure to be present at the premiere to support his son.

“I’m happy that people will get a chance to see what a filmmaker Malcolm is,” Denzel told People on the red carpet. Katia also worked as a producer on the project, while her brother John David starred as Boy Willie.

In a November interview with Esquire, Denzel expressed pride in his children, stating that they are his source of pride and joy. “When I think of what I’m proudest of, anything I’ve accomplished doesn’t even come to mind. It’s our children: They’re good people. They know right from wrong. What else can you ask for, you know?”

The Washington family continues to make waves in Hollywood, but for many fans, their focus remains on trying to comprehend the nature of Katia’s relationship with her wife and their enormous height gap.

Democratic Republic Congo sues Apple over illegal mineral exploitation

DR Congo on Tuesday, December 17, filed a criminal case against European subsidiaries of tech giant Apple, accusing them of illegally using “blood minerals” in its supply chain.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo alleges that Apple has bought contraband supplies from the country’s conflict-racked east and Rwanda, zones in which the materials are alleged to be mined illegally and then integrated into global supply chains before ending up in tech devices.

Apple’s French and Belgian units also deployed deceptive commercial practices to persuade consumers that its supply chains were clean, according to a statement from lawyers representing the DRC.

AFP has learned that complaints against Apple have been lodged in Paris and Brussels with the allegations encompassing war crimes, laundering, forgery, and deception.

Last April, the legal team asked Apple CEO Tim Cook, along with Apple subsidiaries in France, about the potential inclusion of pillaged minerals in the company’s supply chain but did not receive substantive responses.

The DRC’s Washington-based lawyer Robert Amsterdam described the case as constituting a “first salvo” of judicial actions.

“Color Apple red, and not green. It is a trillion-dollar company that must be assumed to know the consequences of its actions. Enough with denials of accountability and hiding behind the false narrative of supply chain defenses!”, he said.

Paris-based lawyer William Bourdon said the criminal complaints constitute “a first step towards making one of the biggest players in tech accountable for its policy of endless enrichment at the cost of the most serious of crimes staining African supply chains.”

Brussels lawyer Christophe Marchand added that “these complaints filed against Apple are a matter of great public interest at a time when European countries, consumers and non-governmental organizations are increasing their scrutiny of international supply chains.”

Computer chips and tech devices require a wide array of minerals and specialty metals.

The lawyers said that the scale and duration of the alleged activities have caused “unfathomable harm and suffering” for civilians, fuelling violence and conflict by financing militias and terrorist groups and contributing to forced child labour and environmental devastation.

They also cited investigations by the United Nations, the US State Department and international NGOs such as Global Witness to document the scale of the problem.

The lawyers said they have written to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to inform her of the criminal complaints and to request a dialogue on the EU’s role in working towards accountability and an end to armed violence in sub-Saharan Africa’s mineral supply chains.

Apple last year said it had “no reasonable basis for concluding” its products contain illegally exported minerals from conflict-hit zones. The tech giant has insisted it carefully verifies the origin of materials in its output.

Rwanda has also dismissed the allegations as unfounded. “This is just the latest blow by the DRC government, which is constantly seeking to divert attention to Rwanda with false accusations,” Rwandan government spokeswoman Yolande Makolo told AFP.

DR Congo’s mineral-rich east has been racked by violence since the 1990s, with tensions worsening since a renewed offensive in late 2021 of Rwandan-backed M23 rebels in the DRC province of North Kivu. Kinshasa has accused Rwanda of using M23 to take control of resource-rich eastern DRC.

Cardi B and Offset iron out their differences as he tosses dollar bills her way

Cardi B and Offset’s stormy relationship appears to have calmed, following a turbulent period marked by divorce filings. Despite their rocky past, the couple is now on amicable terms.

Cardi B revealed that they’ve reached a positive place, successfully co-parenting their three children and finding a harmonious balance, as reported by PEOPLE.

“We’ve been peaceful for over a week, so we like the energy,” she said on a live X Spaces on Saturday, December 14, according to a recording posted by The Jasmine Brand. “We ain’t beefin’. We ain’t really speaking. So I think we’re getting to a point that is, we’re really healthy co-parenting.”

Cardi B, 32, and Offset, 33, share three children: daughter Kulture, 6, son Wave, 3, and a baby girl born in September. The couple, who recently partied together in Miami, married in 2017.

Cardi B initially filed for divorce in September 2020 but reconciled with Offset before filing again in July. A representative told PEOPLE the split wasn’t due to cheating rumors but had been a long time coming.

Cardi B shared on X that she’s been feeling “really great” lately, marking a positive shift from the difficult months following her divorce.

“We’ve been really happy. I feel like this week has been the less drama week,” she said. “‘Cause for the past three months, it’s been drama, it’s been arguing, it’s been craziness. But this week, it’s been like, eight days that there’s no drama, there’s no bulls—. It’s getting to the point where everybody’s moving on very healthy.”

The rapper also implied that she and Offset have started seeing other people, saying they’ve adopted a “I don’t bother you, you don’t bother me” mentality when it comes to dating.

“You heard I’m with a n—-, don’t bother me,” she said. “I hear you with a bitch, I don’t bother you. So we’ve been on good terms.”

Cardi B’s remarks coincided with Offset’s 33rd birthday on December 14. According to Page Six, he celebrated at a Miami club, where Cardi B was also present. While it’s unclear if they attended together, social media footage showed Offset watching Cardi B twerk in a skintight bodysuit while tossing dollar bills her way.

Cardi B shared, then deleted, a screenshot of a text exchange where Offset asked her to “come over,” and she rejected him, vowing never to sleep with him again. This post followed the hacking of Offset’s social media, which led to leaked private conversations between the pair, according to Hip Hop DX.

In her X Spaces live, Cardi B confirmed the hack, and explained that she’d posted text messages herself “because I really don’t like when n—– try to play me like I’m not the baddest bitch.”

Desperation in Zimbabwe: S333x Workers Use Baby Socks as C0nd0m Shortage Worsens

Those employed in the world’s oldest profession in Zimbabwe claim they have resorted to using unconventional substitutes, including baby socks, for c0nd0..ms due to a critical shortage of c0ndoms in several communities.

While the government denies a nationwide shortage, many areas are experiencing significant supply issues, HealthTimes report.

The shortages have hit communities like Epworth, Mutare, Masvingo, Harare, and Seke particularly hard. S3x workers say the problem stems from a mix of factors, including delayed restocking by health facilities, hoarding by some s3x workers, and alleged misappropriation of supplies by healthcare workers.

Precious Musindo, founder of Springs of Life Zimbabwe, a s3x worker-led organization, described the situation as dire. She explained how workers are using baby socks as makeshift female condoms.

“Currently, we are facing a challenge accessing condoms. Supplies are limited, so as s3x workers, we are opting to use newborn baby socks. You fold them, insert them, and they prevent fluids and sperm from reaching the cervix,” Musindo told HealthTimes.

Musindo explained that once the socks become damp, they are washed and reused. In some areas, such as Komboni Yatsva in Epworth, s3x workers reportedly resort to collecting discarded baby socks from mothers.

The shortage is worsening health risks, with some s3x workers ignoring sexually transmitted infections (STIs) due to financial struggles.

“S3x workers are also struggling to access healthcare services. Given the current economy, sometimes we go home empty-handed because business is bad. Even when someone contracts an STI, many choose to ignore it and continue working just to earn a living,” Musindo added.

Dr Bernard Madzima, CEO of the National AIDS Council (NAC), denied the existence of a nationwide condom shortage.

“As far as I am concerned, there is no shortage of condoms in Zimbabwe. We have enough stocks in the country. The current discussion is focused on condom funding post-2025. For now, there are adequate supplies in the public sector,” he said.

However, major donors, including the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the Global Fund, have informed the Zimbabwean government that they will terminate funding for condom programs by 2026.
