WE’VE SILENTLY INCREASED POWER SUPPLY TO 10 HRS, WE WANT CITIZENS TO TELL US – GOVT

ENERGY Minister Makozo Chikote says government has increased power supply, with some areas now receiving up to 10 hours of electricity.

Chikote says there has been no official communication from government on this increase because it wants citizens to see the results for themselves.

Speaking to News Diggers, Tuesday, Chikote said the electricity situation had changed significantly.

He explained that areas which were previously receiving two or three hours of supply had moved to seven hours, and selected compounds that had been getting six hours were now allocated 10 hours.

“When we were hit by the drought, our [water] levels went down and it affected power generation, hence the power deficit. And this government did not just sit [idle], we decided to think of alternative sources of energy to enhance our energy mix. Last time, I released a number of projects that are in the pipeline to respond to our power deficit. That’s the first thing I did, to make sure that each project has all the details. We know how many megawatts each project will bring on board. There are those in the medium term, those coming by the close of this year, [and] those coming in the first, second and third quarters of next year. That’s how we have done it because we have both immediate and long-term projects in our pipeline,” he said.

“And also, in the immediate [term] there are other measures that we have put in place such as imports and these are already responding to the situation. You have been receiving two hours, one hour, others go a day without power, other compounds were getting three hours. As I am talking to you today, that’s not the situation. The situation has changed. At least those who had been getting two hours, three hours, they have moved to seven hours. The vulnerable citizens such as Kanyama, Matero, those compounds which we selected which we communicated to you, media, you know they dropped to something like six hours, five hours. They have bounced back to 10 hours, so slowly results are coming out.”

Asked why there was no official communication on the increased power supply, Chikote said government had done enough talking and now wanted citizens to report on how much power they were receiving.

“Sometimes, you must weigh the situation. You know how much we have talked to the people, trying to give them confidence. Trying to explain what government is doing. This time around we have decided to say instead of continuing to repeat the same statements, we should leave the results to start speaking. As I was entering here, I was stopped just there. I was being given the feedback, some platforms were even making jokes to say, ‘the one who switches off power, maybe he went to drink.’ So that is the kind of information we would like to come from the society. We have done enough talking, people are now waiting to see results. That’s what we are now doing hence we have not made any announcements. What we want this time around is the results. Let the people now talk, what are they receiving? What are they getting? How is the situation of power supply in the country? We want results to come from the people other than us to keep on repeating the same things,” he said.

“People have heard this message so many times, all people now want is the results. That’s the more reason we decided to explain the projects that are in the pipeline to make sure that come next year when the results are coming, people will say it’s because of elections but these are the projects that are moving according to the government’s plan. Because next year, especially you Diggers, will claim that the situation has changed because of elections. We have to explain and see what is the timeframe of these projects that are in the pipeline, to clear what the noisemakers are making. We have so many noisemakers in this country, that is why we are very conscious in giving our statement to make sure that we don’t contradict anything.”

Asked if the increased power supply was due to favourable rainfall patterns, Chikote denied this, explaining that the improvement was a result of government’s interventions, including the importation of power.

“Look, this rainfall we are experiencing now is not just there, then it starts raising the levels. It’s a process, especially if we talk about Kariba. If the rains are coming all the way from Zambezi to come and reach where Kariba is, it takes some good three or four months for that water to arrive at Kariba Dam. So, it is not about this rainfall, it is about the interventions that we have put in place. One of the interventions is the imports that we are bringing into the country. Secondly, also by engaging the private sector, those who are in power trade to see how they can also come on board and provide whatever they are trading in terms of the power supply. These are the results you are seeing,” said Chikote.

“I want to assure the citizens that this government has not gone to sleep like how other people are criticising that the government doesn’t care. They don’t mind with the lives of the people, there is nothing that they are doing towards power deficit or load shedding, that is not correct. The assurance I am giving our citizens is that your government is working 24/7 to make sure that we improve, we stabilise the power supply.”

People’s Pact ditches Tonse Alliance

People’s Pact ditches Tonse Alliance

By Thomas Chewe

The People’s Pact has decided to withdraw its membership from Tonse Alliance, following continued failure by the Alliance to come up with a Presidential candidate ahead of the 2026 General elections.

According to sources, some opposition parties are accusing the PF of holding TONSE hostage as the PF continues to delay to provide a name of a candidate for consideration for adoption as Tonse Presidential candidate.

The political parties that include Patriots for Economic Progress and United for Better Zambia are also ready to proceed without the PF and choose a Presidential candidate should the PF continue to delay making a decision

CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT SHOULD NOT BE A PROJECT FOR EVERY GOVERNMENT – BISHOP CHIKOYA

CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT SHOULD NOT BE A PROJECT FOR EVERY GOVERNMENT – BISHOP CHIKOYA

The Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) says there is need for a comprehensive and consistent approach to constitutional amendments, emphasizing that the process should not be treated as a project for every new government that assumes office.

Featuring on the Church and Society radio programme on United Voice Radio, CCZ General Secretary Bishop Emmanuel Chikoya questioned why some political players who previously argued that constitutional amendments were unnecessary now claim the process is urgent.

Bishop Chikoya noted that while debates on constitutional reforms will always arise, differing views should not lead to hostility.

“We are not enemies; we are competing in terms of ideologies,” he said.

When asked about CCZ’s collaboration with the Oasis Forum, Bishop Chikoya explained that CCZ does not specialize in all areas, hence the importance of partnering with like-minded organizations for the common good of the nation.

He also raised concerns about proposals for delimitation, which may increase the number of Members of Parliament.

He questioned how the country would sustain a larger Parliament at a time when Zambia is already struggling with economic and social challenges.

“Having a lot of MPs doesn’t automatically translate into development. What we need is an efficient government that focuses on agriculture, mining, manufacturing and other sustainable avenues for job creation. It’s like a home, you struggle to look after five children, then you say let’s add more,” he said.

As the Nation approaches toward the 2026 General Elections, Bishop Chikoya further urged the clergy and other key stakeholders to remain vigilant and avoid being influenced by politicians seeking personal gain at the expense of the Zambian people.

EMMANUEL MWAMBA’S STATEMENT ON THE PRESIDENT AND THE FIRST LADY

EMMANUEL MWAMBA’S STATEMENT ON THE PRESIDENT AND THE FIRST LADY

Emmanuel Mwamba’s latest outburst is yet another example of careless political commentary presented as fact. His claim that “the President is lying” about the existence of manipulated TikTok or AI-generated content is not only misleading, it completely ignores the reality of today’s digital landscape.

First, the President never claimed that a real video of him kissing another woman exists. His statement clearly addressed the rise of deepfakes, doctored videos, and AI-manipulated content that have been circulating as part of coordinated political smear campaigns. The issue at hand is the potential for such fabrications, not the existence of a viral clip.

Second, Mr. Mwamba’s argument that “there is no such video, therefore the President is lying” is intellectually dishonest. Leaders across the world—from the US to Kenya to South Africa have raised similar concerns about AI misuse in politics. Zambia is not immune. To dismiss these risks simply because you personally have not seen the video is both irresponsible and deliberately simplistic.

Third, the accusation that the President is “embarrassing the First Lady” is an emotional appeal with no factual foundation. What embarrasses families and nations is the reckless politicization of every issue, the constant distortion of presidential statements, and the desperate attempt to squeeze outrage out of thin air.

If Mr. Mwamba insists that the President must “show the video,” then he is once again missing the point. The warning was about digital manipulation, not an admission that such a clip is real or in circulation. AI specialists, cybersecurity experts, and media analysts have all confirmed that doctored content is a real threat to political stability, individual dignity, and election integrity.

Instead of twisting the President’s words, Mr. Mwamba should focus on the real issue:
How do we protect Zambians from misinformation, deepfakes, and malicious AI content during elections?

That is the national conversation we should be having, not the manufactured outrage he is attempting to fuel.

The President warned about the possibility and existence of AI manipulation.

Dismissing digital threats does not make them disappear. Political commentary should enlighten citizens, not mislead them. Mr. Mwamba’s post does the latter.

MP’S WILL SIT LIKE SARDINES

FORMER Tourism Minister William Harrington has urged Zambians advocating for Bill 7 to reflect seriously on the financial burden of maintaining an already bloated Parliament.

Speaking in a walk-in interview with The Mast, Harrington wondered where the 85 new Members of Parliament would sit in parliament, as the current one would only accommodate 164 members.

Harrington said the United Party for National Development (UPND)’s intention to increase the number of MPs from 164 to 261 would be illogical, as the current seating arrangement was facing challenges.

He said the current parliament had no capacity to accommodate the proposed 85 new MPs.

“The thing is that if you create more constituencies in Parliament, there are questions that say, where are they going to sit? Look at Parliament, there are a few seats, where are the other seats going to come from? Because even the current small number of MPs sit like sardines, and increasing the number will worsen the situation,” Harrington said.

He questioned the UPND’s motive to undertake the delimitation of constituencies without considering the cost implications.

“I don’t agree with the delimitation. Delimitation in the constitution doesn’t say they must delimit, it says consider delimitation,” he said.

Harrington urged the UPND not to avoid constructive debate on the matter, saying the best government could do was to listen and take into account the concerns Zambians were raising.

“The cost of having the current eight nominated MPs is small compared to the cost of having 85 new MPs. The government should not avoid this debate,” he said.

Harrington said the new MPs would require new vehicles apart from allowances and gratuity, adding that the new financial calendar would not only put pressure on the treasury but also the taxpayers, who would be required to pay more to finance MPs.

He also said the proposal to do away with by-elections was a danger to democracy as it promoted dictatorship.

SECRETARY TO CABINET ISSUES STERN WARNING TO CIVIL SERVANTS WITH POLITICAL AMBITIONS AHEAD OF 2026 POLLS

SECRETARY TO CABINET ISSUES STERN WARNING TO CIVIL SERVANTS WITH POLITICAL AMBITIONS AHEAD OF 2026 POLLS

By Nelson Zulu

Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa has warned civil servants with political ambitions ahead of the 2026 elections to resign or face disciplinary action.

Speaking during the eighth Senior Public Service management meeting in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Kangwa urged civil servants to remain focused on driving economic development for the benefit of ordinary citizens, emphasizing that government business must continue uninterrupted even in an election year.

He stressed that the public service is the permanent backbone of government, responsible for providing stability, continuity and strategic oversight to ensure the effective delivery of developmental programmes and services.

Mr. Kangwa has acknowledged efforts by controlling officers that have supported economic growth, but expressed concern over persistent procurement irregularities, weak adherence to cabinet decisions and instances of corruption that have undermined government developmental agenda.

He highlighted the low usage of the electronic cabinet system, noting that while conveyances and directives are routinely circulated, they are not always accessed or acted upon, causing delays in the implementation of presidential and cabinet decisions.

Joseph Chishimba Put on Defence on allegations of  Chipo Mwanawasa pregnancy

By Kalemba

A MAN of Lusaka’s Jack Compound will from January 15, 2026 have the daunting task of publicly proving his claims that President Hakainde Hichilema had made his young aid, Chipo Mwanawasa pregnant.

Joseph Chishimba is before the Lusaka Magistrates Court, charged with one count of publication of false information contrary to Section 54 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act No. 2 of 2021.

The 49-year old’s legal troubles began when authorities’ fingers pointed towards him as one of the people who were allegedly
spreading information that President Hichilema had impregnated Chipo.

After weeks of trial, Principal Resident Magistrate Idah Phiri found Chishimba with a case to answer, meaning, he will have to prove his claims or dance legal pelete.

“I have carefully examined the evidence before court and I find that a prima facie case has been made out against the accused. I accordingly place him on his defence,” Magistrate Phiri said.

Chishimba’s lawyer, Kelvin Fube who is also president of oppositon party Zambia Must Prosper, informed the court that his client would remain silent in his defence and call one witness when court reconvenes on January 15, 2025.

Chipo, 36, who serves as a senior adviser to the President, in her testimony, told the court that the rumours caused deep embarrassment to her family and the Presidency, particularly because she is daughter of the late President Levy Mwanawasa.

She narrated that on September 30, while on duty in Greece, she received a call alerting her to claims circulating online. When she checked her WhatsApp, she found an email implicating her in a supposed pregnancy at State House.

“I dismissed it as rubbish,” she said, adding that she had not anticipated “the extent of the fire” the rumours would cause.

Two days later, upon returning to Zambia, she found the story still trending. Concerned relatives called for a family meeting at her late mother’s house – barely weeks after the funeral.

Her aunt Charity Kakubo Nyirenda, Diana Mambwe and uncle Patson Kakubo expressed anger and distress after seeing viral posts, including one resembling a brown envelope marked “Summons to Mr Hakainde Hichilema, Chibombo Local Court – 11 October 2024.”

The material had been circulated by pages such as Munyaule Zambia and Dear Zambia with sensational headlines claiming the President had been sued for allegedly impregnating her.

Chipo said the allegations brought shame not only upon her and the Mwanawasa family name, but also upon the Presidency, the President’s family, and the country as a whole.

She emphasised that no such relationship had ever existed.

One screenshot, she said, was from a Facebook account belonging to a “Hon. Charles Kakula”, claiming she was his ex-girlfriend and had been impregnated by “a man at State House (Plot 1).”

The post referred to an “uncle Chofwa Monde” who had allegedly reported the matter to Chibombo Local Court, a person she said did not exist in her family.

She told the court the ordeal caused her trauma, harassment and reputational damage, noting that she had worked hard to build a respectable public profile and serve as a role model to young women.

COP TELLS HOW POST DISAPPEARED FROM SEAN TEMBO’S FACEBOOK PAGE

COP TELLS HOW POST DISAPPEARED FROM SEAN TEMBO’S FACEBOOK PAGE

AN INVESTIGATOR testified how he discovered, during investigations, that an alleged insulting language posting on Patriots for Economic Progress president Sean Tembo’s Facebook was deleted.

“Based on the already preserved evidence, I proceeded to compile the report,” detective chief inspector Michael Ilishebo told Lusaka chief resident magistrate Davies Chibwili yesterday.

Tembo is charged with use of insulting language, an offence he is alleged to have committed between August and October 2023.

In the claimed insulting words, the accused is quoted as saying “Bally is selling a few bags of ZNS mealie meal using Shoprite, hoping to create a perception of low price is equal [to] ****”.

The unprintable word was deemed to be insulting language likely to provoke.

During continued trial, Mr Ilishebo, who operates from Zambia Police Service headquarters’ criminal investigations department – cybercrimes unit – said that in 2023, he received a request from a detective sergeant Manda.

“The request [was] with regard to a matter [Mr Manda] was investigating from a Facebook page called Sean E Tembo in regard to suspected use of insulting language.”

Mr Ilishebo said he had earlier received another request from a different investigator who asked him to preserve some evidence relating to the same insulting language inquiry.

“Based on the latest request from sergeant Manda, I proceeded to compile a report. I gave sergeant Manda a report to aid his investigations.”

ZAMBIA SETS BOLD PATH TOWARD THREE MILLION TONNES OF COPPER OUTPUT

ZAMBIA SETS BOLD PATH TOWARD THREE MILLION TONNES OF COPPER OUTPUT

Dec 11-2025
Zambia’s copper production, once competitive in the 1960s, has stagnated around 800,000 metric tonnes by 2024 despite the country remaining Africa’s second-largest producer.

The mining sector contributes significantly to the national economy, accounting for 11.1 percent of GDP and nearly 80 percent of export earnings according to the 2022 Census Report.

Global demand for copper continues to rise due to the clean-energy transition, positioning the mineral as a critical component of renewable technologies and electric vehicles.

ZIPAR researcher Emmanuel Muma has noted that Zambia’s plan to reach three million tonnes by 2031 could greatly boost economic growth if effectively executed.

He explained that the national strategy focuses on brownfield expansions, greenfield developments, and intensified exploration activities across the mining sector.

Brownfield operations such as Konkola Copper Mines and Mopani Copper Mines are expected to contribute 1.4 million tonnes of output by 2030.

Greenfield projects are projected to grow their contribution from 47,200 tonnes in 2023 to over 254,000 tonnes by 2030.

Exploration activities, supported by a high-resolution aerial geophysical survey, are anticipated to add over 1.2 million tonnes to national output.

President Hakainde Hichilema has consistently maintained that the three-million-tonne target is achievable through predictable policies and an investor-friendly environment.

The National Three Million Metric Ton Strategy launched Minister Paul Kabuswe provides a structured roadmap for expanding production, strengthening regulation, and ensuring long-term sector growth.

South African woman arrested for running her own prison

A South African woman was arrested by local police after she was caught for running her own prison in her yard.

A 54-year-old bar owner from Nkowankowa has been arrested after allegedly operating an illegal “prison” from her home, where she detained men accused of violence and unpaid debts.

Police say the woman began running the makeshift detention facility on 2 December 2025, locking up men who caused trouble at her tavern while drunk, refused to pay for alcohol, or allegedly assaulted women during drinking sprees.

According to reports, at least 36 people were detained over time. The suspects were reportedly held in a locked room until they became sober, paid their outstanding bills, or were “taught a lesson” for their behaviour.

Investigators say the woman took it upon herself to “enforce order” in the community by arresting men involved in violence, particularly those accused of abusing women while intoxicated at her establishment.

Authorities have now shut down the operation. The woman is expected to face charges related to kidnapping, unlawful detention, and operating an illegal detention facility.

Police have warned the public that taking the law into their own hands is illegal, even if the intention is to prevent violence or crime.

Zimbabwe’s New Prison Rule: Selected Inmates Can Now Go Home to Sl33p With Their Partners

Zimbabwe Prisoners Now Allowed Home Visits For Private Intimate Time With Partners
A new prison rule is changing life behind bars in Zimbabwe. The prison service has confirmed that selected inmates can now be granted temporary leave to go home, specifically to sleep with their partners. This intimate private time, often called conjugal rights, is a central part of a bold new pilot project aiming to strengthen family bonds and aid rehabilitation.

The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) is shifting its focus from pure punishment to corrective practices. As a first step, a test scheme is running at Marondera Female Open Prison and Connemara Prison. Inmates who show exemplary behaviour are being allowed these unique home visits. Officials state this is a key component of a wider new parole system now being rolled out.

Families Called To Play Vital Role In Healing Process
H-Metro reports that ZPCS spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Meya Khanyezi, directly linked these private home visits to the vital need for family support. She stressed that true rehabilitation must happen with loved ones.

“The upcoming parole system will also address conjugal rights for inmates,” Ass Comm Khanyezi said. “Many in Marondera Female and Connemara Prisons have already begun to enjoy these rights while serving their sentences. Conjugal rights will be at the comfort of their homes not in prisons.”

She sent a clear message to the public about their shared responsibility.

“As ZPCS, we cannot solely rehabilitate inmates. Their families and communities must also play a vital role. Prisoners come from the community and will eventually return there.”

Parole Plan Aims To Let Prisoners Finish Sentences at Home
The Commissioner General of Prisons, Moses Chihobvu, recently gave more details to female inmates. He explained a new parole system being developed that could allow some to complete their sentences at home. A December 2025 report noted the announcement was met with cheers and singing from the inmates.

“We are in the process of implementing the parole system,” Comm Gen Chihobvu said. “Once operational, this system will allow some inmates to complete their sentences in the comfort of their homes.”

A special Parole Board will carefully choose which prisoners qualify. Priority will go to those who have shown clear progress and good behaviour in rehabilitation programmes.

TikTok restricts late-night LIVE streams in Nigeria due to rise in adult content

TikTok has temporarily shut down its late-night LIVE feature in Nigeria after a sharp rise in broadcasts showing explicit sexual content.

The company says users in the country will no longer be able to host or view LIVE sessions between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., the window where most of the offending content was coming from.

According to TikTok, the move is part of an effort to tighten safety controls and protect viewers, especially minors.

The platform says it has already taken down more than 49,000 LIVE sessions in Nigeria for sexually explicit behavior in recent months, but the violations continued to grow.

The company didn’t give a date for when the restriction will be lifted, saying only that the pause will remain in place while it works on stronger moderation and enforcement tools for the region.

The decision comes as TikTok faces rising scrutiny in Nigeria over adult content, influencer behavior, and the platform’s ability to police its live-streaming ecosystem.

Some creators from Nigeria has taken the platform as a mode to exploit their s€dual content with some even doing it live.

Some users believe the ban is a step in the right direction as TikTok has allowed some questionable content on the sites in the past.

Trump makes weird comment about White House Press Secretary’s face and lips

President Donald Trump raised eyebrows with comments made about White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s physical appearance.

At a rally in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Dec. 9, during a speech that was supposed to be about the economy, Trump gushed about Leavitt’s “beautiful face and those lips that don’t stop.”

“We even brought our superstar today, Karoline,” Trump said, drawing cheers from the crowd.

“Isn’t she great? Is Karoline great? You know, when she goes on television, Fox, like, I mean, they dominate, they dominate when she gets up there with that beautiful face.”

“And those lips that don’t stop. Pop-pop-pop like a little machine gun,” Trump continued. “She’s got no fear, and you know why she has no fear? Because we have the right policy.”

It’s not the first time Trump, 79, has commented on his 28-year-old press secretary’s appearance, or drawn backlash from social media critics for doing so.

Viewers quickly left comments criticising Trump for his words.

“Who says *** like this about a female that works for him? It’s beyond creepy and gross,” one X user wrote.

“Fairly weird thing to say about your employee/subordinate,” another add

Japan launches a human washing machine that cleans and dries you in just 15 minutes

You can now pay $383k for this ‘human washing machine’ to cleanse you while you sit and relax yourself.

Japan has introduced a futuristic “human washing machine” — a full-body cleansing capsule.

The device uses fine microbubbles, warm mist jets, and calming music to wash and relax the user without them lifting a finger.

The machine, first shown to the public at Expo 2025 in Osaka, is designed to automate the entire bathing process.

Once inside, the capsule scans the user’s body, then begins a cycle that cleans the skin, massages muscles, and plays soothing audio. It also monitors heartbeat and vital signs throughout the wash.

A hotel in Osaka has reportedly bought the first unit, making it the world’s first commercial installation. Electronics retailer Yamada Denki is also set to display one beginning December 25.

Only 50 units will be produced in the initial run, each priced at about 60 million yen (roughly $380,000) placing it firmly in the luxury gadget category.

Developers say the machine is aimed at high-end hospitality, elderly care, and anyone who wants a fully automated spa-style bath in the future.

Tanzanian Lady Throws A Party To Celebrate her Newly Acquired iPhone 13

n this life, some people are grateful and celebrate every personal milestone with their loved ones.

A lady just did that with her friends in Tanzania.

She hired a full sound system with a DJ and invited her friends over to celebrate with her after getting a brand new iPhone 13.

When her friends arrived, the celebrant addressed them and thanked all of them for showing up at her party because not everyone has friends who will leave their daily activities behind to celebrate a friend’s newly acquired phone.

A phone is a basic necessity for communicating. Loved ones and relatives both near and far. The device was for calls alone, but it had a messaging feature as it evolved, and now it has cameras and an AI feature, which make life easier for its users.

There are so many expensive phones, but Apple products are on top, and by doing so, most people in Africa are respected not by the job they do but by the type of iPhone they are using.

The price of an iPhone 13 in Tanzania varies because of the memory size (64GB to 128GB). It can cost nine hundred sixty thousand Tanzanian shillings to one million three hundred eighty thousand Tanzanian shillings, eight hundred fifty thousand Tanzanian shillings ( $395 and $567 US dollars).

Her friends were happy to celebrate this personal milestone with her and party because not everyone in their community has an iPhone.

This trending video has sparked conversations about how most girls are more interested in phones than in their personal lives and growth.

Vladimir Putin’s secret sons revealed in leaked. All you need to know about Putin’s children

Newly released photos and video have reportedly revealed two boys alleged to be secret sons of Russian President Vladimir Putin, training as gymnasts like their purported mother, Alina Kabaeva, a former Olympic gold medalist.

The images, which were shared with New York Post and said to have been smuggled out of Russia, show two boys identified by the outlet as Ivan, 10, and Vladimir Jr., 6, at a gymnastics event linked to Kabaeva.

According to the report, the boys were spotted at a children’s training session held at a gymnastics academy said to be run or supported by Kabaeva, who has long been rumored to have a close personal relationship with Putin.

The Kremlin has never confirmed any relationship between the two, nor acknowledged the existence of additional children beyond Putin’s two publicly known adult daughters.

The footage and photographs reportedly show the boys performing exercises and training routines alongside other children, with Kabaeva present at the event.

Russian authorities have issued no official response to the report. The Kremlin has historically refused to comment on the president’s private life, dismissing past reports about secret children as speculation or misinformation.

The claims have reignited international debate about secrecy surrounding the Russian leader’s family life, which has remained tightly guarded for years.

Putin has two publicly acknowledged adult daughters from his marriage to Lyudmila Shkrebneva, which ended in 2014.

However, independent investigations and leaks have long suggested he has a separate family with Kabaeva, Their relationship, an open secret in Russian elite circles since at least 2008, has been denied by the Kremlin.

According to a detailed August 2025 report by the Dossier Center, a London-based investigative group, Ivan was born in spring 2015 at a Swiss clinic in Lugano, while Vladimir Jr. arrived in spring 2019 in Moscow

The boys reportedly live reclusive lives in Putin’s heavily guarded residences, primarily a mansion near Lake Valdai northwest of Moscow, under constant protection from Federal Protective Service (FSO) officers.

They travel by private jets and yachts, with round-the-clock nannies, tutors, and trainers. The Dossier Center cited document leaks and travel records but withheld images of the children for ethical reasons, emphasizing their status as minors.

Kim Jong Un bans su!c!de in North Korea; those who attempt and fail wil be executed

Kim Jong Un has reportedly issued a nationwide order banning suicide and declaring it an act of “treason against socialism.”

The new directive comes as North Korea faces one of the fastest-rising suicide rates in its recent history.

Sources who have leaked internal security documents say the directive was circulated quietly through provincial party offices and local security units after officials recorded a nearly 40% jump in suicides in a single year.

The surge is attributed to a deepening economic hardship, widespread hunger in rural areas, and growing hopelessness among ordinary citizens.

Under the new rules, local officials are now directly accountable for every suicide in their jurisdiction/region.

If a resident takes their own life, the official overseeing that area is investigated, disciplined, or removed from their post.

This has led to tight surveillance on households considered “at risk” and increased pressure on families to report emotional distress before it escalates.

Multiple defector-run outlets report that the regime has escalated these measures even further in recent months.

In some regions, authorities have warned that surviving a suicide attempt could result in the death penalty, treating the act as a political crime.

Families of those who attempt suicide may also face collective punishment, including relocation, loss of rations, or investigations for “ideological failings.”

China sentences former sports minister to death with a 2-year reprieve for accepting $33.4 million in bribes and abusing power

China has handed a death sentence with a two-year reprieve to Gou Zhongwenyi, the former sports minister, after finding him guilty of accepting huge bribes and abusing his official powers.

A court in Yancheng, Jiangsu province, ruled on 8 December 2025 that Gou took advantage of his positions over more than a decade to solicit and accept bribes worth over RMB 236 million (about US $33.4 million).

Prosecutors said he used his roles — including as vice-mayor of Beijing and later as director of the State General Administration of Sport — to help individuals and departments gain business advantages, project approvals and other benefits in exchange for illicit payments.

In addition to the bribery charges, Gou was convicted of abusing his official powers. Part of that ruling stems from his time as a Beijing vice-mayor in 2012–2013, when he mishandled a public project acquisition that caused significant losses to state assets, the court said.

Under Chinese law, a death sentence with a two-year reprieve is typically commuted to life imprisonment if the convict commits no further crimes during that period.

The court cited factors such as Gou’s confession, cooperation with investigators and return of illicit gains in deciding to defer execution.

The court also stripped Gou of political rights for life, ordered the confiscation of all personal assets, and directed that all illicit funds be turned over to the state treasury.

Gou’s downfall marks one of the highest-profile corruption cases in China’s ongoing anti-graft campaign, which has targeted senior officials across government, business and state sectors in recent years.

KENYAN COURT SUSPENDS ‘LANDMARK US HEALTH AID DEAL OVER DATA PRIVACY CONCERNS

KENYAN COURT SUSPENDS ‘LANDMARK US HEALTH AID DEAL OVER DATA PRIVACY CONCERNS

A Kenyan court has suspended the implementation of a “landmark” $2.5bn (£1.9bn) health aid deal signed with the US last week over data privacy concerns.

It follows a case filed by a consumer rights lobby seeking to stop the alleged transfer and sharing of Kenyans’ personal data under the agreement.

The interim ruling now bars Kenyan authorities from taking any steps to put the deal into practice “insofar as it provides for or facilitates the transfer, sharing or dissemination of medical, epidemiological or sensitive personal health data”.

Since the deal with Kenya, Donald Trump’s administration has signed similar agreements with other African countries as it overhauls its foreign aid programme.

Under its new global health aid strategy, the US prioritises direct deals with governments rather than channelling funding through aid agencies.

Countries are required to increase their own health spending. In the Kenya case, the US contributes $1.7bn, with the Kenyan government covering $850m and gradually taking on more responsibility.

At last week’s signing ceremony, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described it as a “landmark agreement”.

The US has since entered into similar deals with Rwanda, Lesotho, Liberia and Uganda.

However, many Kenyans have raised concerns that the deal could allow the US to view personal medical records such as their HIV status, TB treatment history and vaccination data.

One of the groups that took the case to court, the Consumer Federation of Kenya (Cofek), argued that Kenya risked ceding strategic control of its health systems “if pharmaceuticals for emerging diseases and digital infrastructure (including cloud storage of raw data) are externally controlled”.

The High Court agreed to bar the implementation of the deal until the full case is heard.

Kenya’s government has sought to reassure citizens over the deal.

On Wednesday, President William Ruto said the Attorney-General had gone through the agreement with a “tooth comb” to ensure that “the law that prevails on data that belongs to the people of Kenya is the Kenyan law”.

The US has not commented about the data privacy concerns.

The case is next due in court on 12 February.

Many Real Madrid fans have been shouting”Xabi out!”, “Xabi fuera!”, but will sacking him be the most intelligent decision now?

“SACK HIM NOW!, CARLO WAS BETTER!”

Many Real Madrid fans have been shouting”Xabi out!”, “Xabi fuera!”, but will sacking him be the most intelligent decision now? My answer is NO!

Concerning the Carlo Ancelloti calls, we must acknowledge that Carlo is the greatest manager in Champions League history and it will take time for anyone to match his achievements in the competition. With regards to legacy, his name should not feature in the same sentence with the young coaches like Xabi.
However, the game was beginning to catch up with Carlo. That was evident in his last seasons at Real Madrid. Football these days evolves at the speed of lightning. Carlo Ancelloti’s dominantly low block counter system could not keep up with the pace. He was clearly short of ideas already.

Xabi Alonso is a typical modern day coach whose ideas are tailored to the growth of the modern game. Under him, Real Madrid have become a lot more dynamic tactically than under Carlo. We now see a Real Madrid that takes its game to the opposition albeit there are still several lapses.

Real Madrid need to trust Xabi and strengthen the squad with a couple of quality additions. Xabi clearly needs a midfielder that can dictate the tempo of a game – that sort of player who pulls the strings like a Pedri. Jude Bellingham is such an amazing talent but he’s not that profile. Arda Guler isn’t either.

In addition, Real Madrid needs a winger that can provide 20 to 30 goals a season. At the moment, aside Mbappe, there’s clearly no one who can deliver such figures. Mbappe needs support in the scoring duties. There’ll be days he’s absent like yesterday and what happens? There’ll be days he’s present but switches off like against Celta; what happens?

I’ll like to examine Xabi when he’s got these two additions.

I must also admit the situation is being blown out of proportion. Real Madrid are 4 points behind Barca in LaLiga and are in the top 8 in the  Champions League group phase. Where is the crisis actually? Anyway, that’s the pressure which comes with Real Madrid. It’s like nowhere else, or perhaps compared only to Barca.

The bottom line is that Real Madrid have improved considerably tactically under Xabi and he needs support especially with a couple of quality additions as cited above.

RUSSIA SAYS “NO MORE MISUNDERSTANDINGS” WITH U.S. ON UKRAINE – WHICH SOUNDS LIKE BAD NEWS FOR KYIV

RUSSIA SAYS “NO MORE MISUNDERSTANDINGS” WITH U.S. ON UKRAINE – WHICH SOUNDS LIKE BAD NEWS FOR KYIV

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov just declared all “misunderstandings” with the United States over Ukraine have been “resolved” following the Putin meeting with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner early December.

The Kremlin called that meeting “constructive.” Lavrov now says it confirmed “mutual understandings” reached between Putin and Trump at their August Alaska summit.

Meaning: they’ve been working on this deal for months, and Moscow likes what it’s hearing.

What Russia’s saying it wants:

• Package of documents for “long-term sustainable peace” with security guarantees
• “Collective security guarantees” that don’t “limit ourselves to Ukraine alone”
• No NATO membership for Ukraine
• Protection for Russian speakers in Ukraine

Here’s what that actually means:

“No misunderstandings” = We’ve agreed Russia keeps occupied territory and Ukraine accepts neutral status.

“Collective security guarantees not limited to Ukraine” = European security architecture gets rewritten to give Russia veto power over its neighbors.

“Protection for Russian speakers” = Russia retains pretext to intervene whenever it claims discrimination.

This means one thing:

The Trump-Putin framework is set. Ukraine’s getting a deal they didn’t negotiate, can’t refuse, and probably won’t like.

Europe’s scrambling because they’re being excluded from talks about their own security. Pope Leo’s objections don’t matter. Zelensky’s amendments are theater.

Lavrov wouldn’t be this confident unless Moscow already knows Trump will deliver. The “misunderstandings” he’s talking about weren’t about goals – they were about tactics and timing.

Now those are resolved too.

What happens next:

Pressure on Ukraine intensifies. Trump threatens aid cutoff. Europe faces choice: accept terms or fund Ukraine alone. Putin gets territorial gains validated, NATO expansion frozen, and new security guarantees that constrain Western military presence near Russian borders.

When Russia says there are “no more misunderstandings” – that sounds like victory lap language.

They’re not announcing progress, it seems. They’re announcing terms have been set, and now it’s just about forcing compliance.

Zimbabwean “Job Agent” Unmasked as Regional Trafficking Kingpin — Botswana Arrest Reveals Ukraine War Recruitment, Dubai Exploitation & Influencer Involvement

Zimbabwean “Job Agent” Unmasked as Regional Trafficking Kingpin — Botswana Arrest Reveals Ukraine War Recruitment, Dubai Exploitation & Influencer Involvement

A major regional scandal has exploded after the arrest of Zimbabwean national Vecco Lupa at Botswana’s main international airport — and what authorities uncovered is sending shockwaves across Southern Africa.

According to information gathered from my own sources, Lupa was not the “professional job consultant” he claimed to be. Instead, he allegedly ran a well-structured trafficking network, preying on unemployed people in Botswana, Zimbabwe, and neighbouring countries.

Lupa promised high-paying international jobs, but behind the scenes he was reportedly:

  • Trafficking young men into dangerous routes linked to the Ukraine war effort,
  • Sending women to Dubai, where many ended up in suspected sex-exploitation traps,
  • And using local social media influencers to promote his fake company and lure more victims.

These influencers — who helped advertise his services without verifying anything — must also face justice. Their platforms amplified the scam and pushed vulnerable young people straight into the hands of traffickers.

Authorities in Botswana believe Lupa’s arrest is just the beginning. More accomplices, collaborators, and recruiters are expected to be exposed as the investigation widens.

This case is a harsh reminder that:
✔️ Fake job scams are becoming more sophisticated,
✔️ Trafficking networks are operating boldly across borders,
✔️ And those who assist them — knowingly or through negligence — will have to answer for it

Trump unveils new $1million gold card offering legal status and a pathway to US citizenship

0

US President Donald Trump has unveiled his long-awaited ‘gold card’ offering legal status and a pathway to US citizenship for customers willing to pay the $1 million price tag.

The website Trumpcard.gov, complete with an “apply now” button, allows interested applicants to pay a $15,000 fee to the Department of Homeland Security for speedy processing.

After going through a background check or vetting process, applicants must then make a “contribution” – the website also calls it a “gift” – of $1 million to get the visa, similar to a “Green Card,” which allows them to live and work in the United States.

“Basically, it’s a Green Card, but much better. Much more powerful, a much stronger path,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “A path is a big deal. Have to be great people.”

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said some 10,000 people have already signed up for the gold card during a pre-registration period and he expected many more to do so. “I would expect over time that we’d sell, you know, thousands of these cards and raise, you know, billions, billions of dollars,” Lutnick told Reuters in a brief interview.

Lutnick said the gold card program would bring people into the United States who would benefit the economy.

He compared that to “average” Green Card holders, whom he said earned less money than average Americans and were more likely to be on or have family members on public assistance. He did not provide evidence for that assertion.

Trump’s administration has pursued a broad crackdown on immigration, deporting hundreds of thousands of people who were in the country illegally and also taking measures to discourage legal immigration.

The gold card program is the Trump version of a counterbalance to that, designed to make money for the U.S. Treasury in the same way the president, a former New York businessman and reality television host, has said his tariff program has successfully done.

Lutnick noted that there was also a corporate version of the gold card that allowed companies to get expedited visas for employees they wanted to work in the United States, for a $2 million contribution per employee.

Myanmar junta air strike on hospital k!lls 31

0

At least 31 people were k!lled and dozens of others injured in Myanmar after an airstrike by the ruling junta hit a major hospital in the western state of Rakhine, according to witness, aid workers, and the Arakan Army rebel group.

The hospital was struck by bombs dropped by a military aircraft late on Wednesday, December 10, a spokesperson for the Arakan Army said Thursday. The rebel group largely controls the state, which borders Bangladesh, but is still battling the military junta in parts.

“The Mrauk U General Hospital was completely destroyed,” Arakan Army’s Khine Thu Kha told Reuters. “The high number of casualties occurred because the hospital took a direct hit.”

Several of those killed were patients. Around 70 others were injured, the ethnic minority separatist group said.

“The terrorist military council’s air force dropped two bombs using a jet fighter,” the rebel group said in a post on Telegram.

Aid worker Wai Hun Aung said the hospital was in complete ruins and bodies of victims lay on the ground, sharing unverified images of the scene with news agency Reuters. “The remaining patients have been moved to a safe location,” he said.

The strike comes weeks before the military’s set polling date for elections, December 28.

The junta is now fighting to take back territory lost to resistance groups, while the rebels have pledged to block elections in territories they control.

Former Bolivian President Luis Arce has been arrested and the timing raises serious questions

0

Former Bolivian President Luis Arce has been arrested and the timing raises serious questions.

AP reports that Arce was detained by anti-corruption police over alleged misuse of public funds and fraudulent contracts tied to development programs. Prosecutors say more arrests could follow, while Arce’s allies call the move blatantly political.

What makes this even more striking is the context, Bolivia just restored full diplomatic ties with Israel, and the country’s new U.S.-aligned president, Rodrigo Paz Pereira, has been in office for barely a month.

This is the same pattern Latin America has seen repeatedly, a geopolitical pivot toward Washington and Israel followed almost immediately by prosecutions against the previous left-leaning leadership.

AP frames it as a corruption crackdown, but coming right after the foreign-policy shift, the optics are weird at best.

ERDOGAN PLANTS DRONE FACTORY IN PAKISTAN – INDIA’S NIGHTMARE JUST GOT WINGS

0

ERDOGAN PLANTS DRONE FACTORY IN PAKISTAN – INDIA’S NIGHTMARE JUST GOT WINGS

Turkey’s not just selling drones to Pakistan anymore – they’re building an entire assembly facility there.

Stealth and long-endurance combat UAVs, manufactured on the ground, right next to India’s border.

The timing is surgical. 4 months after a Pakistan-India ceasefire ended a nuclear-armed fistfight in May.

Turkey’s defense exports just hit $7.5 billion, up 30%, and Erdogan’s building a military-industrial network across the Muslim world that bypasses Western arms dealers entirely.

Pakistan gets Turkish Bayraktar-level technology without American approval processes or inspection regimes.

Turkey gets a South Asian manufacturing hub and a foothold in a $3 trillion regional arms market.

India gets to watch its primary adversary gain combat drone capability they can’t sanction or cut off.

Erdogan’s building the non-aligned defense supplier network. Indonesia ordered Turkish fighters. Saudi Arabia and Syria are in line.

Now Pakistan becomes the production node for South Asia. No Western strings, no human rights lectures, just hardware.

Next: India accelerates its own drone programs and doubles down on defense partnerships with Israel and the US. China watches Turkey encroach on its traditional Pakistan market share – Beijing won’t love this.

The facility becomes a regional hub, potentially supplying Afghanistan, Central Asian states, maybe even Iran.

Pakistan just outsourced its drone gap to Turkey.

India’s counter-drone doctrine needs a rewrite.

Welcome to the multipolar arms race – no middleman required.

China & Brazil Launch a Space Lab: Multipolar Power in Action

0

China & Brazil Launch a Space Lab: Multipolar Power in Action

China and Brazil just opened a joint space-research laboratory and this move says far more about geopolitics than science alone.

1️⃣ China is building a global space ecosystem outside U.S. influence

Beijing is expanding into:

– Deep-space research
– Hemisphere-wide data networks
– Dual-use technology cooperation
– Science diplomacy across the Global South

A China–Brazil space lab is not symbolic, it’s structural.

2️⃣ Brazil just proved it’s not playing the U.S. “choose a side” game

By partnering with China, Brazil:

– Rejects U.S. strategic pressure
– Strengthens BRICS+ scientific ties
– Gains leverage between great powers
– Positions itself as a Global South tech leader

Latin America is shifting toward multipolarity.

3️⃣ This gives China hemispheric reach the U.S. has tried to block

Through Brazil, China gets:

– Southern Hemisphere observation capability
– Global data relay points
– Influence over future satellite networks
– Deep science partnerships in America’s former strategic backyard

4️⃣ Space cooperation is the quiet backbone of modern power

Joint labs lead to:

– Shared satellite missions
– AI-driven space data analysis
– Robotics research
– Astronomy infrastructure
– Dual-use technological compatibility

This is how 21st-century blocs are built: through cooperation, not coercion.

5️⃣ What this really means

China is creating a parallel global science ecosystem.
Brazil is stepping into its role as a rising middle power.
And the U.S. is watching its once uncontested hemisphere shift beneath its feet.

This isn’t noise, it’s the architecture of a new geopolitical order.

UKRAINE COUNTERS TRUMP’S PEACE PLAN – KUSHNER’S THE MIDDLEMAN NOW

0

UKRAINE COUNTERS TRUMP’S PEACE PLAN – KUSHNER’S THE MIDDLEMAN NOW

Ukraine just submitted its detailed response to Trump’s 20-point peace proposal. Negotiator Rustem Umerov sent it to Jared Kushner after coordinating with UK, France, and Germany.

The document proposes amendments to make Trump’s plan “workable” and offers new approaches on the hardest issues: territorial control and the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.

Zelensky’s reportedly under mounting U.S. pressure to accept terms everyone knows favor Russia.

Trump met with UK, France, Germany leaders this week and described negotiations as being conducted “in strong words.”

That’s diplomatic code for threats and ultimatums.

U.S. and Ukrainian military officials meet today for follow-up.

Here’s what’s actually happening: Trump’s original plan was crafted with Russia, and no meaningful European input.

Europe forced revisions. Now Ukraine’s submitting counterproposals knowing Trump doesn’t want counterproposals – he wants signature.

The fact that it’s going through Kushner tells you everything.

This isn’t oldschool State Department diplomacy. This is family business. Kushner brokered Abraham Accords, now he’s trusted to handle Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

What the “amendments” likely contain: Security guarantees Ukraine can actually enforce. International monitoring for any ceasefire.

Phased implementation tied to Russian withdrawal timelines. Language on territorial sovereignty that doesn’t explicitly cede land but creates mechanisms for “frozen conflict” resolution later.

Basically, Ukraine’s trying to turn Trump’s document into something that doesn’t end their statehood while giving Trump political cover in the process.

Today’s military meeting determines if there’s daylight between positions or if this collapses. Trump’s timeline demands resolution before his political capital burns. He’ll push hard.

Zelensky’s playing a losing hand. His only leverage is making Trump own the consequences of forcing an unfavorable peace.

Europe’s his insurance policy – if they hold firm on not accepting territorial concessions, Trump can’t fully isolate him.

Trump’s treating this as transactional, not strategic. And in transactions, the party with the gun usually wins the terms.

While US is thinking about a “super group” alterantive to G7, China establishes new U.N. “Friends of Global Governance” group.

While US is thinking about a “super group” alterantive to G7, 🇨🇳 China establishes new U.N. “Friends of Global Governance” group.

43 countries have officially launched the Group of Friends of Global Governance at UN headquarters in New York, creating a fresh platform for international dialogue on the world’s most pressing challenges. This initiative, guided by China’s Global Governance Initiative—which has already gained support from over 140 countries and international organizations—focuses on five core principles: sovereign equality, international rule of law, multilateralism, people-centered approaches, and emphasis on real action.

From Cuba to Kenya, from Kazakhstan to Malaysia, founding members are united in strengthening multilateral cooperation and amplifying the collective voice of developing nations.

As we mark the UN’s 80th anniversary, this group emerges at a critical moment when multilateralism faces severe strain and global governance stands at a crossroads. Burundi’s UN representative captured the spirit perfectly: “Alone, we cannot do it”.

U.S. Navy has seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela

The U.S. Navy has seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela

The Trump administration has just seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, marking a dramatic escalation in tensions between Washington and Caracas.

The operation, carried out by the US Coast Guard, comes amid a massive military buildup in the region—including an aircraft carrier, fighter jets, and tens of thousands of personnel.

President Trump personally confirmed the action on Wednesday, saying “we’ve just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela,” though officials haven’t disclosed the vessel’s identity or exact location.

This move represents the latest chapter in an increasingly complex standoff over oil, sanctions, and regional influence. With Venezuela’s oil exports being critical to its economy, and the US ramping up pressure on the Maduro regime, the implications could reshape energy markets and diplomatic relations across the Americas.

Belgium’s Prime Minister  De Wever Threatens Legal Action Over Frozen Russian Assets

0

Belgium’s De Wever Threatens Legal Action Over Frozen Russian Assets

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever has warned he may file a lawsuit against the European Commission if it moves forward with plans to use frozen Russian assets without addressing Belgium’s concerns. The dispute centers on €165-185 billion in Russian Central Bank funds frozen at Brussels-based Euroclear, which the EU wants to use as collateral for a massive loan to Ukraine.

De Wever has raised serious objections about the legal and financial risks Belgium could face, warning that the plan could expose Belgium to Russian lawsuits and massive compensation claims if things go wrong. While stating that Belgium doesn’t want to become “a new Hungary” by constantly blocking EU decisions, he’s made clear he won’t back down on protecting Belgian interests and doesn’t rule out taking the matter to court.

What’s your take? Should Belgium prioritize protecting itself from legal risks, or should European solidarity on Ukraine support come first? How would you balance national interests with collective EU action?

Emmanuel Mwamba Opens Presidential Endorsement Process, Exposes Fragmented Opposition Landscape

Emmanuel Mwamba Opens Presidential Endorsement Process, Exposes Fragmented Opposition Landscape

Emmanuel Mwamba’s announcement that his EMV platforms will endorse one presidential candidate for 2026 has jolted an opposition field already struggling with cohesion, clarity and credibility. Posted Wednesday, Mwamba’s message reads like a confession of political fatigue and a diagnosis of a fragmented opposition that has failed, in his words, “to metastacise” into a united front.

His tone captures the urgency: time is gone, unity is absent, and 2026 is no longer a distant horizon.

“This is not a commercial arrangement but a patriotic duty,” Mwamba wrote, signalling that the endorsement will carry political weight, not transactional value. He anchors his move on one assertion: opposition leaders have failed to unite, forcing his platform to make an early call.

For months, EMV has hosted various presidential hopefuls, giving them airtime to pitch themselves. Mwamba now concludes that the field is too congested, too indecisive, too self-absorbed. His next step is to pick one.

By publicly naming all 18 aspirants who have featured on EMV; from Brian Mundubile to Fred M’membe, from KBF to John Sangwa, from Makebi Zulu to Dolika Banda, Mwamba frames his platform as a neutral listening post for the opposition.

But the list itself exposes the central crisis: there is no ideological spine, no shared agenda, no agreed face. The opposition remains a loose collection of candidates, each carrying their own micro-constituency and each unwilling to give way.

Mwamba’s intervention is therefore both symbolic and diagnostic. It reveals a leadership vacuum.

His rules for public participation, “You are NOT allowed to insult candidates you do not like” also expose a deeper frustration with a base that has turned political debate into tribal and personalised combat.

Mwamba understands that if his endorsement is to carry moral weight, it must escape the toxic ecosystem that has weakened PF, split M’membe’s constituency and muted Kalaba’s reformist claims.

The political calculation is simple: the opposition needs a viable challenger to President Hichilema. Yet Mwamba’s post acknowledges that no coalition is forming, no structured negotiation has begun, and time is closing in. By taking the endorsement process onto EMV, he is filling a vacuum that opposition leaders themselves have left empty.

But the move also raises questions. Will Mwamba’s pick carry national weight or only energise his digital constituency? Will it deepen divisions within PF, where leadership legitimacy is already contested? Will it be perceived as elite-driven political engineering?

Even more critical: will opposition accept his chosen candidate or interpret it as an attempt to manufacture influence ahead of 2026?

What is clear is that Mwamba’s “search” narrative confirms a truth the opposition has tried to downplay. There is no frontrunner. There is no consensus candidate. There is no unified message. And by going public, Mwamba has forced a conversation many opposition leaders have avoided.

The opposition is not short of names. It is short of cohesion. It is short of strategic discipline. It is short of time.

Whether EMV’s endorsement will converge the field or fracture it further is an open question. But Mwamba’s move marks a new phase: the opposition’s 2026 race has officially shifted from party machinery to influencer politics. The consequences will unfold in the coming weeks, especially as he insists the decision will be made “within one month.”

In a political season defined by fragmentation, this attempt to impose clarity may be the most revealing moment yet.

REFLECTIONS ON OUR OPPOSITION: We can’t just be a block of ‘no’. We have to be the block of ‘yes’- Fred M’membe

REFLECTIONS ON OUR OPPOSITION

It’s time we started admitting our flaws, mistakes, and weaknesses as opposition if we are to overcome them and strengthen ourselves to win next August 13 general elections.

In these very challenging times for the opposition, we turn to that famous Bruce Lee quote, “Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them,” that emphasizes that true strength and growth come from honesty and accountability, not perfection, turning errors into lessons through humility and self-awareness, a core part of Lee’s philosophy for self-improvement and mastery. He believed admitting flaws frees the ego, allowing for learning and becoming a “better self”.

The real bravery isn’t in not making mistakes, but in owning them. Acknowledging flaws, mistakes, and weaknesses is the first step to transforming failures into knowledge and wisdom. Admitting faults opens the path to self-forgiveness and healing, breaking free from ego. This mindset fosters self-confidence and vulnerability as power, rather than weakness.

By having the courage to face and admit our shortcomings, we unlock our potential for profound development and become more authentic.

As opposition, let’s inspire the Zambian people to do something greater, to build a community, a society, a nation with greater ideals. This calls for us to be bold. We have to be bold. We have to stop just being critical of the system, of this tyrannical, corrupt, tribal, and failed regime and put our proposals on the table. That has to be done in a bold and unified way. The divisions, intrigues, maneuverings, lies, and sometimes insults that are in our opposition are dismaying. There’s a need for us all to realise the immense importance of showing unity.

If a political force constantly divides that demoralises the toiling and suffering masses, it demoralises people; they won’t have faith in us. If we are going to inspire people with a big vision, we have to have the capacity to unify ourselves. All our opposition forces, therefore, must have a kind of general unified sensibility even if there are disagreements, we should have the disagreements quietly, and we shouldn’t have them in public. Facebook, radio and television squabbling politics won’t do. Politics should not all be in public. We have to inspire people with some sense of unity. We have to have a compelling vision. What are we offering?

We can’t just be a block of ‘no’. We have to be the block of ‘yes’. We need to paint for the Zambian people the future that we are going to provide. Not just ‘no, we don’t like your policies’. Otherwise, we come off as a force of negativity.

It is important to inspire people for tomorrow.

55 NEW CONSTITUENCIES? WHERE DID THE REMAINING 44 COME FROM?

55 NEW CONSTITUENCIES? WHERE DID THE REMAINING 44 COME FROM?

By: Political Correspondent

Hon. Mutotwe Kafwaya, MP for Lunte, has challenged the government’s logic behind the creation of 55 new constituencies describing the process as “a deception tsunami.”

Object (a) of Bill 7 claims to “actualize the ECZ report on delimitation of constituencies.” But according to Hon. Kafwaya, the government cannot produce any evidence supporting the figure of 55. Ministers have repeatedly told citizens to consult the ECZ for the report, yet when ECZ appeared before Parliament, they revealed that the 2019 report the latest legitimate document recommended only 11 new constituencies.

“I remember this accurately because Lunte was among the eleven, together with Kasempa and Chilubi,” Kafwaya insists.

This revelation raises a critical question!

“Where have the forty-four additional constituencies come from? How can you add 44 constituencies to a report which only recommended 11? This is deception. This is grand deception,” he says.

The matter is further complicated by ECZ’s claim that the 2019 report was “revised” in 2025. Kafwaya says this revision is questionable because delimitation is a consultative, on-the-ground process, involving public meetings, boundary walks, and stakeholder submissions none of which have occurred since 2018.

“So how did ECZ suddenly revise the report in 2025 without going back to the people? Where did they conduct public meetings? Which boundaries were walked? Who made submissions? This is fiction,” Kafwaya argues.

The MP also points to the government’s contradictory statements, ministers claim the report is with ECZ, while ECZ says it has been submitted to government.

“Government says ‘go to ECZ.’ ECZ says ‘go to Government.’ It’s deception galore!” he laments.

Kafwaya has issued a direct challenge:

“I challenge Government to release the 2019 report for public consumption. I do so because I believe there is no revised 2025 report. The motivation for this arbitrary 55 must be explained.”

As Parliament debates Bill 7, the public is left asking: Are these 44 constituencies real, or are they a politically convenient fiction crafted behind closed doors?

SE

Lunte Member of Parliament Hon. @Mutotwe Kafwaya writes:::::

55 Constituency Delimitation – a DECEPTION TSUNAMI.

Object (a) of Bill 7 deals with the actualization of the ECZ report on delimitation of constituencies.

When you ask Government that; where is the ECZ report which recommends that 55 constituencies should be delimitated?

Government will tell you that – go to ECZ, the ECZ chair person is there. She has the report. One minister said so on live TV.

As if saying the ECZ chair created Bill 7. You must have a basis for coming up with 55 new constituencies – that is the point Hon Minister!

If the report is still with ECZ, then where did you find the number 55? Utuntu!

You can not be this all over the place, you are very image of Government – as if saying that; we dont know, only ECZ knows about this report as of now. So go find out from them.

Then BOOM! ECZ appears before that select committee currently scrutinising the controversial Bill at the National Assembly of Zambia. And then they are asked about the report.

Without knowing that a minister who did not hear about their response would go on to state that the report is with ECZ, they indicated that they had submitted it to Government.

And further that the ECZ can not release it to the public because it is now in the hands of Government. Its being kept like accountable documents.

But listen to the other important details accordingly to the ECZ:

(i) This is a 2019 report.

(ii) It was revised and handed over to Government.

These two details as offered by ECZ are critical pieces of information which I want to discuss briefly below.

About this being a 2019 report.

—–‐————————-

Of course the 2019 report on delimitation of constituencies is the latest ECZ report which exists in the country.

It was presented to a cabinet in 2019. And I can tell you for certain that this report recommended an addition of only eleven (11) constituencies.

I remember this accurately because of course Lunte Constituency was among the eleven, together with Kasempa and Chilubi constituencies.

So, where have the forty four (44) additional constituencies due for delimitation come from?

This is deception. This is grand deception.

How can you add 44 constituencies to a report which only recommended 11? This is not normal! And this expansion without regard to the current economic status of the country.

What then is about the revision of the 2019 report in 2025.

This is one of the funniest stories that I have heard from ECZ this year. Remember ECZ was making this submission to a parliamentary committee under CAP 12 immunities.

Delimitation information gathering is never conducted in offices.

It is a go there activity. Go and talk to the people. Let them walk through their situation. Make boundary and name suggestions. This is what happens.

Public presentations and feedback from the actual people in actual places.

This is what happened in 2018. ECZ came to Vincent Bulaya in Lunte. Stakeholders were called including myself and we made submissions. And made boundary suggestions and even gave a name to the would be born new constituency.

That is how the 2019 report was arrived at.

How then did ECZ revise the same 2019 old report in 2025 without going back to the people?

How did ECZ arrive at an additional 44 constituencies to the original 11?

Where did ECZ conduct public meetings?

Why is government failing to release the 2019 report and the so called 2025 revised report?

Why is the ECZ report is being hidden like the Technical Committee report. Such that when you ask government through a minister, you’d be told to go to ECZ. And when you ask ECZ through the parluamentary select ommittee, you are told go to Government.

Deception galore!

This deception is beyond measure. This is not transparency. This is not accountability.

I challenge government to release the 2019 report for public consumption. I do so as I believe there is no revised report for 2025.

This is so as I believe revising a report of that nature way after it was submitted to Government would require a go back to the people act – which has never taken place since 2018.

The minister and ECZ should consider reconciling their public views on the ECZ report. They are one government. They should not contradict or accuse each other.

And the motivation for coming up with that arbitrary 55 delimitation of constituencies should be explained. This deception tsunami should not be left unattended.

Restoring EVERTHING PATRIOTIC.

CHAWAMA BY ELECTION WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF TASILA LUNGU COOPERATED – MUFALALI

CHAWAMA BY ELECTION WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF TASILA LUNGU COOPERATED – MUFALALI

Deputy Government Chief Whip, Likando, Mufalali has dismissed assertions that the nullification of Tasila Lungu’s Chawama parliamentary seat was a political move.

Mr. Mufalali says the decision was made due to Ms. Lungu’s lack of cooperation, noting that she showed disregard for parliamentary procedures.

Speaking when he featured on today’s edition of Chatback in Lusaka, Mr. Mufalali said that following the issuance of an ultimatum, the former Chawama lawmaker should have made arrangements to attend parliamentary sittings virtually instead of completely abandoning the sessions.

“If Ms. Lungu had reached out to the Speaker regarding her extended absence from the House, Parliament would have granted her that permission, but that was not the case,” said Mr. Mufalali.

He added that the UPND will campaign in Chawama Constituency knowing that the by-election could have been avoided through dialogue between the former lawmaker and parliament.

And Mr. Mufalali expressed confidence that the UPND will scoop the parliamentary by-election slated for January 15, 2026.

He emphasized that it is imperative for all constituencies across the country to have proper representation in the National Assembly through present leaders.

REJECTING BILL 7 IS NOT REBELLION ITS ACTUALLY LEADERSHIP- Edwin Lifwekelo

PRESS STATEMENT

From the office of PF Directorate of Media

For immediate Release
11/12/2025

The Patriotic Front/PF/ through it’s media directorate wishes to issue a firm and urgent appeal to all Members of Parliament across party lines to reject bill 7 in totality especially after the ruling by the constitutional courts that Bill 7 is unconstitutional.

It should be rejected in totality by all the MPs and the people of Zambia.
MPs cannot debate what is unconstitutional and bill 7 must fall.
This is not a partisan issue, this is about the soul of our democracy and the suffering of our people we all claim to serve.
At a time when Zambians are enduring unprecedented economic hardships, the role of Parliament must be to provide relief, not impose further burdens.

We call upon MPs with influence, integrity and a strong voice to stand up not for the party, not for political expediency but for the people.
Let your legacy be one of courage and not compliance.
Your constituents did not elect you to be echo chambers of the executive.
They chose you to be defenders of justice, equity and economic dignity.
Rejecting bill 7 is not an act of rebellion,it’s an act of leadership .
The PF Directorate of Media stands with every MP who chooses conscience over convenience and the people over politics.
The time to act is now.
Constitutional invalidity infects the entire process.

The Doctrine of constitutional invalidity dictates that if a legislative process is initiated through unconstitutional means, then all subsequent steps however procedurally proper, are vitiated ab initio.
The constitution is very clear where a bill is introduced without complying with constitutionally mandated public participation, any law enacted from such a bill is invalid in it’s entirety.
The constitutional court ruling that the process of formulating bill 7 was unconstitutional renders the bill legally void.

It is trite law that, you cannot put something on northing and expect it to stand.
A defective process yields a defective outcome.
Therefore allowing Parliament to proceed with bill 7 is tantamount to legitimizing a constitutionally tainted act ,a direct affront to the rule of law.

Parliamentary autonomy does not extend to defying court orders Article 1/2/ of the laws of Zambian constitution states unequivocally this,;this constitution is the supreme law of the republic of zambia and any other law or custom that is inconstent with it is void to the extent of the inconsistency.

Permitting bill 7 will set a dangerous precedent that constitutional violations can be introspectively cured by mere parliamentary discretion.
In light of the above it’s legally improper and constitutionally indefensible for Parliament to proceed with bill 7 of 2025 after the constitutional court has declared the process leading to it’s formulation unconstitutional.
The executive cannot affirm an unconstitutional process into legitimacy.

MPs MUST REMEMBER THEIR OATH

MPs are not ordinary politicians they are representives, public servants chosen by the people to protect the people s interests.
When citizens queued for hours to vote for you , they did so in hope, hope for a better future, for fair policies, for leaders that would speak and act on their behalf.
To support bill 7 now would be a betrayal of that trust.
We must remind our MPs, your first loyalty is not the party, nor to personal advancement
It is to the people who believed in you.
Political responsibility demands moral courage.
Now is the time to show it.

REJECTING BILL 7 IS NOT REBELLION ITS ACTUALLY LEADERSHIP.

Some may argue that rejecting the bill is an act of defiance against the leadership that is misreading democracy
Real leadership is not about blind loyalty it’s about standing up for what is right even when it’s politically inconvenient.
To MPs who are being pressured to support bill 7, courage is doing what’s right when it’s hardest and history will remember who stood with the nation and who stood against it.

THE CALL TO ACTION

This is the pivotal moment in Zambia s democratic journey.
The people have spoken
The time to listen is now
Reject bill 7 stand with your electorates
Prove that Parliament still belongs to the people
Choose the people

Choose justice
Choose to be remembered as a leader that stood firm when it mattered most
Reject bill 7
Bill 7 must Fall
Zambians are counting on you.

PF HOPEFUL MAKEBI ZULU GAINS MOMENTUM AMONG COPPERBELT YOUTHS

PF HOPEFUL MAKEBI ZULU GAINS MOMENTUM AMONG COPPERBELT YOUTHS
Chingola… Thursday December 11, 2025 (SMART EAGLES)
A youth activist in Chingola has urged Patriotic Front (PF) presidential hopeful Makebi Zulu to remain focused as he continues his bid to lead the nation, saying young people on the Copperbelt are counting on meaningful change.

David Chilombo, a youth voice in Chingola, said young people in the district have endured years of hardship, particularly due to high unemployment levels and limited opportunities for enterprise.

“Our youths have suffered for too long. Many of them have the desire to work or start businesses, but they are held back by challenges such as inadequate electricity supply and a lack of job opportunities,” Mr Chilombo said.

“This is why many of us are looking forward to seeing Mr. Zulu rise to the position of Republican President so he can address these issues not only on the Copperbelt but across the entire nation.”

Mr. Chilombo emphasized that the frustrations experienced by young people have continued to grow, especially for those attempting to engage in small-scale ventures.
“Even young people with brilliant business ideas are failing to progress because of frequent power outages and a harsh economic environment. We need leadership that understands and prioritizes youth empowerment,” he added.

He described Makebi Zulu as a leader with “the right qualities and national vision,” calling on well-meaning Zambians to offer him support as he seeks the PF presidency and ultimately the nation’s top office.

“Mr. Zulu has shown that he is capable, focused, and committed to uplifting the lives of ordinary citizens. We believe he has what it takes to steer the country forward, and it is important for him to stay focused despite the challenges that come with politics,” Mr Chilombo said.
For many young people in Chingola, Mr Chilombo said, the hope is simple: a leader who will tackle unemployment, stabilise energy supply, and provide an enabling environment for youth-led initiatives to thrive.

Opposition Competing Against Time

Opposition Competing Against Time

Emmanuel Mwamba , PF’s Information and Publicity Chairperson, has expressed concern that the opposition is running out of time to pick a single candidate to challenge President Hakainde Hichilema in the 2026 elections. With 21 aspirants vying for the position, Mwamba is calling for a month-long period for people to provide reasons and pick why a particular candidate would be the best fit; so that the candidates can be supported.

Considering the time constraint, a possible solution could be for opposition leaders to hold a closed-door meeting and vote for their preferred candidate, with a second round for the vice president position. To avoid each candidate voting for themselves, they could be given two votes.

Mwamba’s call for unity is echoed by other analysts, who believe that without a united front, the ruling party may have an advantage. Muhabi Lungu , SG for ZAMBIA We Want, says the opposition has a better chance of winning if they come together and field one candidate

The 21 presidential candidates are:

– 1. Brian Mundubile
– 2. Fred M’membe
– 3. Harry Kalaba
– 4. Given Lubinda

– 5. John Sangwa
– 6. Kelvin Fube Bwaly (KBF)

– 19. Kasonde Mwenda
– 20. Dr. Chitalu Chilufya
– 21. Dr. Sebastian Kopulande

The opposition’s decision to unite behind a single candidate will be crucial in determining their chances of winning the 2026 elections.
