Unemployed man rejects job offer because his boss is a woman

With women empowerment on the rise, it is normal to have women in positions of power, however, some people don’t see it to be so.

A user on X is trending after he revealed how he turned down a job offer because of the gender of his boss.

@Lanzy_xx on X posted a screenshot of how he turned down a role from a company named NovaEdge Consulting Ltd.

In the chat, he was informed about his approval by the Human Resource Manager whose name was listed as Evelyn.

As a reply, @Lanzy_xx told her, “I can’t work under a woman. I’d pass,” and proceeded to block the number.

According to the replies under the post, it seems he is a misogynist who does not regard women in high positions.

Meet Queen Nadia, The Facebook Sensation Who Dropped Bangers Till Her Account Got Banned

Facebook has been one of the most used social media platforms, not just for youngins alone, but also for people who want to build a strong connection with their customers.

Content creators who create for fun and those who do it for the big bag mostly base on Facebook for wider audiences than the other platforms.

One lady who rose to fame on Facebook with her content, Queen Nadia TV, is no more on the platform after her account was flagged for odd behaviour.

Nadia was a beautiful lady to just post bangers in the the form of “free show”.

https://youtu.be/PZHOilr1s-I?si=oUqcLghGAmCFXKcY

She posted one for the start, and after it went Viral, Queen Nadia decided to make it her full-time job to cash out, but unfortunately, she broke some laws the govern the application software.

Most of her followers were “finished men,” always sleeping on her page, waiting for a new collection of bangers every day.

Within a week, her page had lots of traffic with 4.5M followers and 1.8B views and had made about $86,000. The worst happened recently as her account was suspended.

Only a few people sympathize with her after the worst happened, but the majority say she should get a job and stop disgracing her family online for money.

Scientists discover cockroach milk is four times more nutritious than cow’s milk

Scientists say a substance often called “cockroach milk” is far more nutritious than cow’s milk.

The finding comes from research on the Pacific beetle cockroach. The species feeds its young with protein crystals produced in its gut.

Researchers found the crystals are about four times more nutritious than cow’s milk.

They are rich in protein, fats, and sugars. They also contain all essential amino acids.

The study was published by scientists from the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine in India, alongside international collaborators.

The crystals release energy slowly. That makes them highly calorie-dense and efficient.

But while the science is fascinating, the practicality is another story. Unlike cows, cockroaches can’t simply be “milked.”

Extracting the crystals requires sacrificing the insect at a precise stage of its life cycle. But the discovery could inspire future superfood or supplement research.

According to scientist Leonard Chavas, harvesting just 100 grams (about 3.5 ounces) of this substance would take around 1,000 cockroaches and half a day of work.

Kuwait announces monthly allowance of $1,800 to single and unmarried women aged 30 and above

Kuwait has rolled out a new social welfare measure providing monthly financial support to Kuwaiti women aged 30 years and older who have never been married.

Under the initiative, eligible recipients will receive 560 Kuwaiti dinars (KWD) per month—equivalent to approximately $1,866z.

The allowance, announced by the Ministry of Social Affairs, aims to deliver targeted social and financial assistance to this demographic, helping to enhance their quality of life and economic independence.

Eligibility appears focused on Kuwaiti nationals who remain unmarried (never previously married) and have reached age 30.

While some reports describe it as a blanket program, others suggest it may tie into existing categories under the Central Assistance System.

Applications would typically be processed through the Ministry of Social Affairs’ established channels.

The move adds to other longstanding benefits, such as aid for widows, divorcees, and specific vulnerable populations, while reflecting constitutional commitments to citizen welfare.

Eligible women are encouraged to check with the Ministry of Social Affairs for official application procedures and confirmation of details.

Study warns AI medical advice could pose “dangerous” health risks

A major new study from the University of Oxford has found that using AI chatbots for medical advice may pose health risks because they often give inaccurate and inconsistent guidance.

The research, published on 9 February 2026, was carried out by the Oxford Internet Institute and the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences.

It involved nearly 1,300 participants in the United Kingdom who were asked to use AI tools to assess medical scenarios.

Participants were presented with 10 medical cases written by doctors, ranging from common illnesses to potentially serious conditions.

They were then asked to identify likely conditions and decide what the next step should be — such as visiting a doctor or seeking emergency care.

The study tested how large language models (LLMs) performed when helping users make real health decisions.

READ ALSO: Scientists reveal a man should ejaculate 21 times per month to help prevent prostate cancer

It found that people using AI tools were no more accurate in identifying conditions or choosing an appropriate course of action than those who relied on traditional sources like internet searches or their own judgement.

One major concern was that users often didn’t know what information to provide to the chatbots, and the responses they received sometimes mixed accurate and misleading advice, making it difficult to interpret what was correct.

Lead researchers said the study highlights a gap between how AI performs on medical exams and how it actually helps people in real-world situations.

They stressed that chatbots should not replace trained healthcare professionals and that patients might be put at risk if they rely too heavily on this technology for medical decisions.

The study comes as companies like OpenAI and Anthropic have released versions of their chatbots aimed at health-related use, but Oxford researchers warn stronger safety checks and clearer limits are needed before such tools are widely used for medical guidance.

Epstein Files Reveals The “Real” Joe Biden Was K!ll£d In 2019, What The World Saw Afterwards Was A ClØn£

Conspiracy Theorists are at it again after one of the leaked documents from Jeffrey Epstein’s Island showed that the former President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, lost his life in 2019

The document revealed that after the “real” Biden died, his clone was executed, so it was being controlled by higher forces operating from an unknown location.

The launch of a clone into the system has been rumored in America for a very long time, but no one has been able to provide concrete evidence to support this allegation.

America has been boiling for the past few weeks after leaked footage and documents from Jeffrey Epstein’s island took over the internet.

The Epstein Island belonged to an American financier and human trafficker who died in 2019, a few days before his court trial.

After his death, everything his camera had captured, along with the written documents, was exposed.

Prominent persons like Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and many others were recorded with different women and minors every time they attended Epstein’s private parties.

According to reports, the information that is being hoarded by authorities with the intention of controlling the situation is more terrifying than what the world has heard.

Another leaked document from the Island has been circulating, and the name shocks every American.

The leaked document stated that the American President, Joe Biden, was reportedly shot in 2019, and so the man who led the US till Biden’s tenure was over was a clone.

This wild allegation is hard to prove, but the document further stated that the unending mistakes from the “clone Biden” during every speech were a message that people did not pay attention to.

HOW THE U.S. ACTUALLY FOUND SADDAM HUSSEIN

HOW THE U.S. ACTUALLY FOUND SADDAM HUSSEIN

For months after the fall of Baghdad, Saddam Hussein seemed to vanish. No palace. No broadcasts. No sightings. The most hunted man in the world had disappeared into the dust of Iraq. What followed was one of the most intense manhunts in modern history.

🧠 WHO WAS SADDAM HUSSEIN?
Saddam Hussein ruled Iraq from 1979 to 2003. His leadership was marked by power, fear, and war. He was known for leading Iraq into the brutal Iran–Iraq War (1980–1988), invading Kuwait in 1990 which triggered the Gulf War, using chemical weapons against civilians and opponents, running an authoritarian government built on intimidation, and being overthrown in 2003 during the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. When Baghdad fell, Saddam didn’t surrender. He disappeared.

🌫️ WHAT HAPPENED AFTER BAGHDAD FELL?
By April 2003, Saddam’s government had collapsed, but Saddam himself was gone. The U.S. launched a massive manhunt. April–May 2003: Baghdad falls and Saddam goes into hiding. Summer 2003: top Iraqi officials are captured and the famous “Most Wanted” deck of cards is released with Saddam as the Ace of Spades. Mid-2003: Saddam moves constantly between farms, villages, and safe houses. Late 2003: U.S. intelligence begins closing in by tracking his inner circle, messengers, and family connections. The search was not about satellites. It was about people.

🕵🏽‍♂️ HOW THE AMERICANS ACTUALLY FOUND HIM
The breakthrough did not come from high-tech surveillance. It came from human intelligence. U.S. forces relied heavily on informants, detainees, and local Iraqis. Small tips slowly narrowed the search area. They targeted Saddam’s inner circle by capturing and interrogating aides, guards, and couriers. Each arrest exposed another link in his hiding network until they identified the routes and messengers still loyal to him. On December 13, 2003, U.S. forces launched Operation Red Dawn near Ad-Dawr, close to Saddam’s hometown of Tikrit. Two farm locations were searched. At one of them, soldiers discovered a small underground bunker barely large enough to sit in. Inside it was Saddam Hussein. Bearded. Dirty. Isolated. He had food, a pistol, and cash—but no army. He did not resist. After months of hiding, Saddam Hussein was pulled from a hole in the ground.

⚖️ WHAT HAPPENED AFTER HIS CAPTURE
He was handed over to Iraqi authorities, put on trial by an Iraqi court, convicted of crimes against humanity, and executed in December 2006.

🧩 THE REAL LESSON
Saddam wasn’t found by machines. He was found because every system eventually leaks. Powerful men don’t fall when armies advance. They fall when their inner circle breaks. In the end, Saddam Hussein wasn’t hiding from technology. He was hiding from people. And people talk.

Mmusi Maimane has strongly criticised proposed constitutional changes in Zimbabwe, describing the developments as “utterly disgusting”

South African Member of Parliament Mmusi Maimane has strongly criticised proposed constitutional changes in Zimbabwe, describing the developments as “utterly disgusting”.

Reaction to Term Extensions

Maimane’s remarks were issued in direct response to a report by Reuters Africa, which indicated that Zimbabwe’s cabinet backed draft legislation on Tuesday to alter the country’s constitution. The proposed legislation seeks to extend presidential terms from five years to seven years, a change that would allow President Emmerson Mnangagwa to remain in office until 2030.

The Regional Cost

Reacting to the news, Maimane argued that the continuation of a “brutal dictatorship” in Zimbabwe directly hinders South Africa’s ability to manage its ongoing immigration crisis. He stated that South Africa pays the price for ZANU PF’s governance through increased healthcare costs, policing expenses, and heightened social tensions. Furthermore, he criticised the ruling African National Congress (ANC) for maintaining close relations with ZANU PF, asserting that the ANC has forced South Africans to pay a “hefty multi generational bill” by aligning with the party.

Call for Severed Ties

Maimane broadened his critique to condemn “forever presidents and family dynasties,” specifically citing leaders such as Museveni, Mugabe, and Mnangagwa. He claimed that these leaders represent a pattern of “unscrupulous tyrants decimating Africa”.

He stated that if ruling parties like ZANU PF in Zimbabwe or Frelimo in Mozambique were to lose power, a significant number of undocumented immigrants would return to their home countries.

Maimane concluded by demanding that South Africa cut all ties with ZANU PF and cease endorsing actions that undermine democracy within the Southern African Development Community (SADC). – Zimbo LIVE International

UGANDA MINISTER CONDEMNS MILITARY RAID ON OPPOSITION LEADER’S HOME

UGANDA MINISTER CONDEMNS MILITARY RAID ON OPPOSITION LEADER’S HOME
UGANDA’S Information Minister Chris Baryomunsi condemned a military raid on opposition leader Bobi Wine’s home last month, telling Reuters that the popstar-turned-politician had not committed any crime and was free to return there.

Wine has been in hiding for weeks after fleeing his home in the capital, Kampala, hours before he was announced the runner-up to President Yoweri Museveni in the January 15 presidential election.
On January 24, Wine said his wife had been taken to hospital after soldiers invaded their residence, alleging that they partially undressed and choked her.

Uganda’s military chief, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is also Museveni’s son, denied soldiers assaulted Wine’s wife, but later said on X that they had “captured and then released” her.
Baryomunsi, who is also a spokesperson for the government, said the authorities would investigate the incident.
“We do not condone any acts of indiscipline on the side of the army and security forces,” he said in an interview.

“So invading his (Wine’s) home, causing damage, assaulting his wife, or anybody, is wrong.”
He declined to say if security personnel would face any penalties if they were found to have violated the law.
A spokesperson for Wine’s National Unity Platform party did not respond to calls or messages requesting comment.
Kainerugaba has stated in social media posts that the military is looking for Wine, who has rejected the election results, alleging fraud. The army chief has not said why they are looking for Wine or what crime he may be charged with.

Rights groups and the opposition have long accused the government of Museveni, who has been in power for four decades, of using the military to suppress dissent, accusations the government denies.

Baryomunsi also said that Uganda had no plans to withdraw its military contingent from an African Union mission to fight jihadists in Somalia, contradicting recent comments from Kainerugaba, who last week threatened in a post on X to pull troops out of Somalia over financing issues.

Kainerugaba has a history of controversial social media posts that he often later deletes. He once threatened to behead Wine and also boasted the military had killed 30 opposition supporters.

Baryomunsi said Kainerugaba’s posts should be taken as “casual comments that do not reflect state policy and state decisions.”

High oil prices boost Russian economy despite sanctions

High oil prices boost Russian economy despite sanctions

Russia’s economy is benefiting from soaring global oil prices, which have strengthened government revenues, helped stabilize the ruble, and supported overall economic growth despite ongoing Western sanctions.

Energy exports…particularly crude oil and natural gas…remain the backbone of Russia’s trade and fiscal balance. Analysts note that high prices are funding domestic programs, shoring up foreign reserves, and allowing Moscow to continue military operations and geopolitical activities abroad.

Several countries continue to rely on Russian oil and gas despite sanctions, including China, India, Turkey, and some nations in the Middle East and Europe. These partnerships help Russia maintain export volumes and revenues even as Western markets restrict purchases.

The country is also seeing growth in other sectors such as agriculture and metals exports, partly fueled by higher commodity prices. Experts warn, however, that heavy dependence on energy exports leaves Russia vulnerable to fluctuations in global demand and price volatility.

Tanzania pushes to move away from the U.S. dollar as ties with Russia deepen

Tanzania pushes to move away from the U.S. dollar as ties with Russia deepen

Tanzania is strengthening relations with Russia as it looks to reduce dependence on the U.S. dollar in international trade. Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo recently delivered a personal message from President Samia Suluhu Hassan to President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, highlighting plans for expanded cooperation.

The two countries are discussing the timing and location of a third Russia–Africa summit, while bilateral trade…currently estimated at around $400 million…is dominated by Russian exports such as grain and fertilizer.

From 2024, Tanzania and Russia plan to conduct parts of their trade using their national currencies instead of the dollar. Cooperation is also growing in energy, agriculture, and tourism.

Tanzania is not alone. Several African countries have been exploring alternatives to dollar-based trade, including: • Egypt, which has used local currency mechanisms within BRICS-related arrangements

• Ethiopia, which has discussed settlement in non-dollar currencies for imports
• Nigeria, which has expanded yuan-based trade agreements with China
• South Africa, which supports BRICS payment systems aimed at reducing dollar dependence

The shift reflects a broader global trend as some nations seek financial independence, protection from sanctions, and reduced exposure to currency fluctuations.

MATHEW MOHAN IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO CONTEST 2026 GENERAL ELECTIONS…  but would be eligible to contest any election after 20th August, 2026.

MOHAN IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO CONTEST 2026 GENERAL ELECTIONS

…  but would be eligible to contest any election after 20th August, 2026.

By Isaac Mwanza

Mathew Mohan, was released from prison on 20th August, 2021 having been pardoned on the 19th August, 2021 by former President Edgar Chagea Lungu. He now wants to contest in the general election set for 13th August, 2026. Is he eligible fo contest as a Member of Parliament? The answer is NO and here is why:

Article 70. (2)(b) states:

“A person is disqualified from being elected as a Member of Parliament if that person has, in the immediate preceding five years, served a term of imprisonment of at least three years.”

The clause contains 3 requirements:

1. The person must have served a term of imprisonment;

2. The term must be at least three years; and

3. That imprisonment must have been served within the immediate preceding five years.

The purpose of the clause in Article 70 is clearly to impose a five-year cooling-off period after imprisonment.

Issues for Determination
The provision raises three interpretive questions:

What is the meaning of “served a term of imprisonment of at least three years”?

From which date is the “immediate preceding five years” calculated?

Does Mohan fall within the disqualification window?

Principles of Constitutional Interpretation
A court interpreting this clause would likely apply the following principles:

(1) Textual Interpretation
Constitutional language must be given its ordinary grammatical meaning unless this leads to absurdity

There is no dispute that:

1. Mohan was sentenced to life imprisonment;

2. He served well over three years;

3. He was released in August 2021.

From What Date Is the Five Years Calculated?
The phrase says:

“disqualified from being elected…”

This suggests the relevant date is the date of election, not conviction or nomination — unless the Constitution elsewhere provides that qualifications must be satisfied at nomination.

Therefore, the correct constitutional approach is:

The five years runs from the date the person last served imprisonment.

Thus:

If five full years have not elapsed between release and election → disqualified.

If five full years have elapsed → eligible.

FINAL CONCLUSION

At Nomination (May 2026):
Mohan is disqualified, because he served imprisonment within five years preceding nomination.

At Election (13 August 2026):
His eligibility depends on his exact release date in August 2021:

If released before 13 August 2021 → Eligible.

If released on/after 13 August 2021 on 20th August, 2021 → Disqualified.

UPND INJUSTICES DRAGGED ME INTO POLITICS – John Sangwa

UPND INJUSTICES DRAGGED ME INTO POLITICS – SANGWA

MOVEMENT for National Renewal (MNR) leader John Sangwa says he joined politics because of the injustices brought by the United Party for National Development government.

Speaking when he featured on KBN TV’s State of Nation programme, Sangwa said he was never interested in politics because it’s destructive nature.

He said he was compelled to start the movement because of the deterioration of constitutionalism in the country.
“I personally do not like politics, but looking at how things were going, I was compelled to start the movement,” he said.

Sangwa said he was ready to serve but needed support from Zambians who had the capabilities.
He said the country was in a mess under the UPND government and that action was needed to make reforms and save the nation from total collapse.

Sangwa said the UPND was running the country in the wrong way, citing the misapplication of the Public Order Act.

He said he needed about a million people to support the movement for him to serve. Sangwa said he was optimistic that the movement would meet the target ahead of the August 13 general elections.

“We had a few teething problems like the platforms we used, but we are hopeful that we are going to meet the target,” he said.

The Dalitso Lungu case: Why was former president Lungu’s immunity not lifted?- Sishuwa Sishuwa

‎The Dalitso Lungu case: Why was former president Lungu’s immunity not lifted?

‎By Sishuwa Sishuwa

‎On 10 February 2026, the Lusaka High Court ordered the forfeiture of properties worth K31 million belonging to former president Edgar Lungu’s son, Dalitso. According to court records, Dalitso, who earned a total income of K137, 803 before Lungu became president in 2015, explained that the wealth was given to him by his father. The order was issued following an application by the Director of Public Prosecutions who had sought the forfeiture of about 71 vehicles and 21 properties, which included a filling station, to the state.

‎There are several lessons that emerge from this case. I will highlight only four.

‎The first is the need for governments to fight corruption in real time. A key reason why we are only now uncovering the corruption of the Edgar Lungu era is that successive governments tend to focus on fighting corruption of the past while ignoring or paying lip service to the rampant corruption that is happening under their own watch. As a result of this practice, Zambians will only get to know the grand corruption that may be taking place under President Hakainde Hichilema only after the UPND is out of office. There is need to identify and address the factors, both structural and otherwise, that prevent anti-corruption bodies from fighting corruption in real time.

‎In addition to creating supportive or empowering legislation and appointing independent professionals with a clear track record of fighting corruption to the board and management positions of the Anti-Corruption Commission, a successful anti-corruption campaign requires having a president who shows a clear or demonstrable will to fight past and especially present corruption. Such political will can be expressed in several ways: by strengthening anti‑corruption laws, by acting decisively against wrongdoing among officials and associates, including those closest to power, and by leading through personal example.

‎Lungu fell short on all three fronts, and Hichilema has, regrettably, mirrored his predecessor with equal distinction. A brief review of his four and a half years in office reveals a striking failure across each dimension.

He has introduced no meaningful reforms to the Anti‑Corruption Act, nor has he sought to align it with Article 216 of the Constitution, which sets out the guiding principles for commissions. Hichilema has likewise shown an incriminating reluctance to dismiss ministers and other senior government officials accused of involvement in corruption.

Few Zambians have forgotten how the president went out his way to protect high-level officials accused of corruption in the Ministry of Health, to shield his associates who were implicated in the infamous airport gold scandal, or how he has overly protected Solicitor General Marshal Muchende from possible prosecution for alleged corruption.

‎As the current US Ambassador to Zambia, Michael Gonzales, argued in November 2023, “There must be consequences for individuals who abuse their public positions for personal gain.  They must lose their jobs, their assets, and/or their freedom.  The costs of corruption must exceed the financial gain if we are going to stem corrupt practices.” Gonzales—whose prior diplomatic postings show a traceable record of calling governments to account for violating their own laws or advancing personal interests at the expense of their citizens—continued:

‎ “Investigating and arresting former officials is appropriate and expected when there is convincing evidence. And over the past decade during which corruption was effectively industrialized by senior officials in government, there is a deep, deep pool of former officials to be held accountable.

Because, let’s be honest, when you go into public office having a modest house in a compound, and you leave office with $400,000 in cash laying around the house that you need to pass it to your niece for safe keeping, it calls into question where that money came from, because it wasn’t just your government salary!

And if it came from corrupt practices or abuse of office, there must be accountability.” In addition to drawing attention to the Lungu-era corruption and the importance of holding former officials to account, Gonzales also emphasised the need for Hichilema to decisively deal with the corruption that is happening under his administration:

‎“But it’s important there be comparable attention and investigations to ensure accountable government among current administration officials and political leaders as well.  We are still waiting to see convictions of current administration officials for corruption.

When the PS repeatedly cancels and re-issues the high-value procurement, selecting a limited cohort of allowed bidders, it’s a problem.  When a minister’s son or nephew routinely pressures companies in his father’s or uncle’s sector to give them money to secure licenses or concessions, it’s a problem.

Let us demonstrate that indeed there are no sacred cows and that no one is above the law.  But we all know that despite the lovely words, the Zambian people are only going to believe it when accountability is held, when corrupt officials lose their jobs, their assets, and their eedom.”

‎The second lesson is that any politically exposed person whose wealth exceeds their known means should be required to account for it. That principle is simply fair. By the same measure, if credible evidence were to emerge tomorrow suggesting that members of President Hichilema’s family possessed assets far beyond their legitimate and verifiable income, it would be reasonable to expect them to explain the source of that wealth.

Those family members might include Maurice Hichilema, the President’s brother and current Director of Human Resources at Cabinet Office; Constance Hichilema, his sister and now Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police responsible for the Paramilitary Unit; and Habwela Hichilema, his son, who was controversially appointed to a position in the Zambia National Service, where we are told he serves without pay.

‎Other family members who may be questioned in future are Albert Halwampa, the president’s brother in law who is ZDA Director General; Kennedy Shepande, the president’s brother in law who is Zambia’s High Commissioner to Canada; Machacha Shepande, the president’s brother in law who is General Secretary of the Football Association of Zambia; Marshal Muchende, the president’s nephew who is Solicitor General; and several others too numerous to mention who populate public positions.

Requesting that these or other individuals associated with the president clarify the sources of any wealth beyond their established income does not imply guilt. It ensures they are afforded the chance to be heard and to demonstrate that their assets were obtained lawfully.

‎The third lesson is the importance of declaring and publishing assets when one is a public officer. If Lungu had published the assets and liabilities that he declared to the Electoral Commission of Zambia in 2021, it may have been easy for the public to believe the possibility

Lungu Burial Appeal, Business Reforms, IMF Confidence

🇿🇲 MORNING WIRE | Lungu Burial Appeal, Business Reforms, IMF Confidence

Zambia’s political and economic news cycle is tightening around three fault lines: the unresolved burial dispute of former President Edgar Lungu, an accelerating reform push to cut the cost of doing business, and fresh government messaging that Zambia’s IMF programme has restored credibility after the 2021 debt crisis.

The headlines from Tuesday signal a country balancing legal contestation, institutional restructuring, and a reform narrative heading deeper into an election year.

The Lungu family has filed a notice of appeal in South Africa’s Supreme Court of Appeal against the Pretoria High Court ruling ordering the repatriation of Edgar Lungu’s remains to Zambia for burial with full state honours.

The appeal comes nearly two months after leave was granted in December, and just a day after Zambia’s Economic and Financial Crimes Court ordered the forfeiture of 79 vehicles and 23 properties linked to Dalitso Lungu under a non-conviction based process.

The burial standoff has now stretched eight months since Lungu’s death on June 5, 2025, with the family arguing he did not want President Hakainde Hichilema near his body, while government maintains there is no credible evidence supporting burial outside Zambia and insists the presidency must be treated as a national institution beyond politics.

Across the economic space, the Business Regulatory Review Agency says it is intensifying licensing reforms aimed at reducing duplication and lowering compliance costs. BRRA board chair Dominic Kapalu says proposals include consolidating multiple levies into a single business levy, introducing omnibus licensing in tourism, and pursuing a Business Facilitation Act modelled partly on Mauritius to streamline reforms across several laws.

The Agency says its digital E-Registry recorded nearly 191,000 visits in 2025, a 45 percent increase from 2024, signalling growing reliance on online regulatory systems.

Meanwhile, Chief Government spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says Zambia has passed all six IMF programme assessments conducted under President Hichilema, arguing this reflects prudent management and rising international confidence. He said IMF support is structured to complement the national budget, with resources directed toward infrastructure, power generation, water harvesting, and social sectors.

Mweetwa acknowledged the programme required painful decisions, but framed them as unavoidable given the debt default and fiscal distress inherited in 2021, saying, “You cannot give what you do not have.”

Taken together, Tuesday’s developments underline the overlapping pressures shaping Zambia’s current moment: a politically charged legal dispute around a former president’s burial, a sharper anti-corruption posture, and a government seeking to anchor its economic case in reform credibility and institutional confidence.

Lungu family finally appeals repatriation judgement in SA Supreme Court

BREAKING: Lungu family finally appeals repatriation judgement in SA Supreme Court

EDGAR Lungu’s family has finally filed a notice of appeal in the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) of South Africa, almost two months after the Court granted it leave to appeal.

This comes a day after the Economic and Financial Crimes Court (EFCC) ordered the forfeiture of 79 vehicles and 23 properties including a filling station and double storey luxury aparments, which Lungu gifted to his son Dalitso.

In court documents seen by Kalemba, the former first family have appealed against the judgment of the Full bench of the Pretoria High Court which ordered that Lungu’s remains be handed over to the Zambian government for repatriation and burial with full state honours.

In a notice, dated February 9, 2026, the family led by former first lady Esther Lungu are asking the Supreme Court of Appeal, to overturn the Pretoria High Court’s ruling of August 8, 2025, which had unanimously ruled in favour of the Zambian government.

The family is also seeking an order which would dismiss government’s application, with costs.

“Take notice that pursuant to leave to appeal having been granted by this Honourable Court on 23 December 2025, the Appellants hereby note an appeal to this Honourable Court against the whole of the judgment and order of the Full Court of the Gauteng Division, Pretoria (per Ledwaba AJP, Modau ADJP and Potterill J), dated 8 August 2025, under case number 096565/2025, in which the Court granted the First Respondent’s application and made no order as to costs,” part of the document.

Edgar Lungu died on June 5, 2025, at a clinic in South Africa and his remains have since been kept at a South African funeral home.

The standoff began after the family reversed plans to repatriate Lungu’s body to Zambia in June last year, a move that disrupted a national mourning programme declared by President Hakainde Hichilema.

The family later announced intentions to bury the former president pri

OPPOSITION QUESTIONS ECZ GUIDANCE ON POLITICAL ALLIANCES

OPPOSITION QUESTIONS ECZ GUIDANCE ON POLITICAL ALLIANCES

By Nelson Zulu

The opposition We Are One Zambia Alliance – WOZA – has expressed concern over guidance issued by the Electoral Commission of Zambia – ECZ – requiring political alliances to be registered before participating in elections and has questioned whether the current registration framework can adequately accommodate such groupings.

In an interview with Phoenix News, WOZA chairperson Sakwiba Sikota says the requirement raises practical and legal questions regarding how political alliances should be recognized and whether existing regulations provide for their registration.

Mr. Sikota further alleged that the Registrar of Societies is unable to accept and process the registration of political alliances, describing the directive as a political gimmick aimed at favouring the party in power.

Meanwhile, Tonse Alliance spokesperson Dr. Lawrence Mwelwa has demanded that the ECZ formally write to all political stakeholders to clarify the guidance, arguing that the commission appears misguided in its actions, particularly given that the UPND Alliance was never registered.

But UPND Alliance chairperson Charles Milupi has dismissed the claims, stating that the law is not new as the Patriotic Front administration applied the same regulation ahead of the 2021 general elections, which compelled the UPND Alliance to field all its candidates under a single recognized political party.

THE FALL OF THE PATRIOTIC FRONT: A Shift in Identity and Strategy

THE FALL OF THE PATRIOTIC FRONT: A Shift in Identity and Strategy

By Patrick Mukosha – Lusaka

The Patriotic Front (PF) has long been a formidable political force in Zambia, shaping the country’s political landscape for over a decade.

However, recent developments have revealed cracks in the foundation that once made the party a stronghold of power.

According to PF President Given Lubinda, the party will do the unthinkable – now contest future elections under a new name, a move that marks a significant turning point in its history.

Lubinda’s statement comes as the party faces numerous legal and administrative hurdles that threaten its ability to function effectively under its original banner.

●Lubinda has failed to bring the factions together.

●The decision to rebrand and contest elections under a different name is seen as a strategic maneuver to ensure the party’s continued relevance in the political arena.

But what led to this drastic step?

LEGAL CHALLENGES AND INTERNAL STRUGGLES

One of the primary reasons for this shift is the ongoing legal and administrative challenges facing the PF.

Legal battles, internal conflicts, and leadership disputes have plagued the party in recent years, eroding its once-solid unity.

These internal struggles have weakened the party’s ability to navigate the political terrain with the same confidence that once made it a dominant force.

The legal issues surrounding the party’s identity and registration have cast a shadow over its prospects, making it increasingly difficult for the PF to field candidates and carry out effective campaigns.

With an uncertain future ahead, the move to change the party’s name serves as a way to preserve its electoral presence while the internal and legal matters continue to unfold.

A PARTY IN TRANSITION

Lubinda’s message, however, offers reassurance to supporters. He emphasizes that while the name and brand of the party may change, the core values, structures, and leadership will remain intact. This is an attempt to maintain party loyalty and support amidst a turbulent political landscape.

But the decision to rebrand is not without its risks.

For a party that once prided itself on its clear identity and strong leadership, changing the name could be seen as a symbol of defeat or an attempt to escape the past.

For many Zambians, the PF has come to be associated with certain policies, ideologies, and even controversies.

A new name might feel like a betrayal of that legacy, even if the same people remain in charge.

THE ROAD AHEAD

As the PF moves forward under a new identity, its supporters will need to grapple with the party’s shifting dynamics.

●Will the change in name revitalize the party’s fortunes, or will it alienate the very base that helped it rise to power?

The upcoming elections will be a crucial test of whether the PF can regain its former glory or whether this new direction signals the end of an era.

In the political game, change is inevitable, but not all change leads to success.

Only time will tell if the PF’s rebranding strategy will prove to be the key to its survival or a step toward its ultimate demise.

But one thing is certain: Zambia’s political landscape is about to witness a dramatic transformation.

In the meantime, President HH and the UPND government are moving the country forward.

GIVE HH HIS FLOWERS BECAUSE THE EXCHANGE RATE DOES NOT RESPOND TO POLITICAL RHETORIC – KALABA TOLD.

GIVE HH HIS FLOWERS BECAUSE THE EXCHANGE RATE DOES NOT RESPOND TO POLITICAL RHETORIC – KALABA TOLD.

ITEZHI – TEZHI (10.02.26) I refer to the article published by Hon Harry Kalaba on his facebook page in which he alleges that the UPND Government found the exchange rate at K15 per then raised it K30 and then drops it K20. He questions why this should be a source of celebration and praise for the UPND Government and President Hakainde Hichilema.

It is very clear that ba Kalaba doesn’t understand the macroeconomics at play or is deliberately misleading Zambians.

Firstly, the Exchange rates don’t move because of politics or slogans; they move because of macroeconomic fundamentals. The IMF Article IV assessments (Consultation) and 5th ECF review for Zambia in July 2025 are explicit; positive economic outlook despite drought-induced challenges, growth projected at 4% for 2024, rising to 5.8% in 2025 anchored on debt sustainability, strong reform performance, and necessary fiscal adjustments.

The Kwacha depreciation during the PF regime was driven by fiscal indiscipline: large fiscal deficits, unsustainable public debt, rising inflation, and collapsing confidence driven by debt default.

What Mr. Kalaba needs to understand is that what has changed is policy. The Bank of Zambia tightened monetary policy to anchor inflation expectations, inflation is now moderating, and that stabilizes the currency. Fiscal consolidation has reduced pressure on domestic financing, while debt restructuring and IMF engagement have restored credibility. As a result, Zambia’s gross foreign exchange reserves (Which stood at approximately US$1.2–1.5 billion in early 2021 to a record high of US$5.2 billion by October–December 2025).

This massive growth has been driven by economic reforms, debt restructuring, and increased export earnings, providing a stronger buffer for the kwacha hence economic growth is stabilizing from a stronger base.

Crucially, this restored confidence is visible in the market. The first quarter of 2026, Government bond auctions were oversubscribed, showing investors are willing to commit long-term capital at home. That does not happen in an economy people don’t trust.

That is why the kwacha is firmer today, driven in part by the new currency directives. This is not cosmetic, and it is not accidental. It is the textbook outcome of President Hakainde and the UPND Government’s disciplined macroeconomic adjustment, and deserve credit for restoring stability and credibility.

Fellow UPND members, this is a massive achievement by the UPND Government and President Hakainde Hichilema which should not be downplayed. We should all celebrate it and make sure every Zambian understands it.

Give President Hakainde Hichilema his flowers!

Kabwe Mall sues Hot Sizzling Pub & Grill

(Daily Nation)

KABWE Mall Limited has filed a lawsuit against Hot Sizzling Pub and Grill Limited, trading as Sekuru City, demanding payment of rental arrears exceeding K1 million.

Court documents show the dispute began with a lease signed on July 27, 2021, at a monthly rent of K30, 000, later revised to K50, 000 in 2022. A further renewal offer in January 2024 proposed K65, 515 per month.

Mathew  Mohan is the main owner of Hot Sizzling Pub and Grill Ltd.

The lease included ancillary obligations covering water, electricity, security, cleaning, and refuse removal, while equipment on the premises was provided under a separate Right of Use Agreement.
Kabwe Mall claimed Sekuru City failed to pay the rentals and associated costs despite repeated reminders, prompting a six-month Notice to Quit in August 2025.
“The tenant’s persistent default has caused significant operational disruptions and financial losses,” it stated.

Sekuru City, however, denied owing any arrears and had described the landlord’s claims as “vexatious, frivolous and misconceived.”

The tenant contended that Kabwe Mall acted dishonestly in managing the lease and failed to honour commitments under the agreements.

In its counterclaim, Sekuru City is seeking USD2 million in damages for alleged financial loss, operational disruption and reputational harm caused by Kabwe Mall’s actions.

The tenant had also requested an independent audit to verify the losses incurred and seeks the court to declare any purported notice of termination null and void.

The case will be heard in the High Court, where both parties are expected to present evidence regarding rental payments, ancillary costs, lease obligations and the validity of notices served

Legal analysts say the case could set an important precedent for commercial lease enforcement in Zambia, particularly in situations involving equipment use agreements and counterclaims for operational losses.

The court will determine whether Sekuru City must settle the arrears and whether its counterclaim is valid, a ruling that could influence landlord-tenant relations across the country’s retail and hospitality sector.

CIVIL SOCIETY PROPOSES AMENDMENTS TO DRAFT ELECTORAL BILL

CIVIL SOCIETY PROPOSES AMENDMENTS TO DRAFT ELECTORAL BILL

Civil society organisations have jointly submitted proposed amendments to the Electoral Commission of Zambia regarding the draft Electoral Process (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

A key proposal is a new clause mandating political parties to conduct internal democratic elections for the selection of candidates on proportional representation lists, as required by Article 60 of the Constitution.

Furthermore, they propose that party lists must include candidates drawn from all ten provinces of Zambia to ensure national inclusivity and regional balance.

The organisations have also proposed that in addition to the quota and highest remainder system proposed by the Commission for allocation of seats, the Bill must introduce a minimum threshold of 0.15 to 0.20 percent for political parties qualifying for a seat under the Proportional respresentation system.

The CSOs have also proposed the renaming of the draft legislation to accurately reflect its regulation of both electoral processes and electoral systems.

They express concern that the bill’s removal of a fixed three-month campaign period grants excessive discretion to the Electoral Commission.

The submissions propose refining the definition of “adoption certificate” to prevent it from becoming an unconstitutional qualification.

They further recommend replacing all references to “Secretary General” with “authorised office bearer” to respect internal party structures.

A significant concern is the undefined term “democratically determined list,” which they propose defining with specific reference to constitutional democratic principles.

The organisations advocate for statutory timelines, notably a 48-hour publication deadline for nomination information to uphold constitutional challenge rights.

They propose amendments to prevent candidates for mayor or council chairperson from also appearing on proportional representation party lists.

The submissions call for clear thresholds for rectifying non-compliant party lists and mandatory written reasons for any rejection.

They argue that several procedural timelines in the bill, such as the 14-day period for publishing party lists, must be shortened to comply with the constitution.

The collective submissions were made by the Media Initiative for Women in Zambia, Alliance for Accountability Advocates, Advocates for Democratic Governance Foundation, Southern African Centre for Construction Resolution of Disputes, Centre for Peace Research and Advocacy, Action Institute Policy Analysis Centre, Zambia Civil Liberties Union, Alliance for Community Action, Governance Elections Advocates & Research Services, Operation Young Vote, Bloggers of Zambia, Peoples Initiative Charter, and Resilient Youth for Change.

HEA WARNS OF RISING NUMBER OF BOGUS INDIVIDUALS MASQUERADING AS PROFESSORS

HEA WARNS OF RISING NUMBER OF BOGUS INDIVIDUALS MASQUERADING AS PROFESSORS

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) has raised alarm over the growing number of bogus individuals masquerading as professors in the country.

HEA Director General, Professor Kazhilu Chinsemba, says the Authority has observed a surge in fake professors who have not conducted any credible research nor published a single peer-reviewed journal article, while others rely on predatory journals that prioritise profit over genuine scholarship.

Speaking during a media workshop in Lusaka on Tuesday morning, Professor Chinsemba added that these bogus professors undermine the credibility and reputation of higher education institutions, eroding public trust and compromising academic standards.

Professor Chinsemba stated that, in order to curb the rise of fake professors and safeguard the quality of higher education, the Authority intends to propose amendments to strengthen the Higher Education Act. He said the proposed changes will introduce a mandatory recognition system for professors, including the establishment of a national register of HEA-accredited professors.

HEA is currently hosting a two-day summer school media training in Lusaka aimed at strengthening media reporting on the higher education sector.

FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU’S FAMILY APPEALS BURIAL RULING

FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU’S FAMILY APPEALS BURIAL RULING

By Darius Choonya

The family of former President Edgar Lungu has filed a notice of appeal before the South African Supreme Court of Appeal, seeking to challenge the decision of the Pretoria High Court that ordered the repatriation of Mr. Lungu’s body to Zambia for a state funeral to be presided by President Hakainde Hichilema.

In their notice of appeal, the Lungu family has stated that they intend to appeal the entire judgment of the Pretoria High Court.

In the said judgment, the lower court ordered the funeral service parlour in South Africa to release Mr. Lungu’s body to a representative of the Zambian government appointed to handle the repatriation.

In an interview with Diamond News, Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha has confirmed that the Lungu family has filed the notice of appeal and that the Zambian government will soon file a response.

Skip your rural post and lose job immediately, Syakalima warns teachers

Skip your rural post and lose job immediately, Syakalima warns teachers

EDUCATION minister Douglas Syakalima has warned that teachers who abandon their assigned rural postings risk losing their jobs.

Syakalima said government had intensified efforts to curb absenteeism in underserved areas and firing is one of them.

He emphasised that teachers are expected to honour every posting they accept, including placements in remote or rural regions.

“If you have been posted to a rural set up and you abandon it, you have fired yourself because when you apply, you are saying you will work anywhere in the country,” he said.

The Minister acknowledged that there may be exceptional circumstances such as serious health issues, but stressed that the ministry is now verifying the authenticity of medical certificates submitted by teachers seeking exemptions.

“A professional teacher works wherever they are assigned. Even in cases of health concerns, we check whether the medical report is genuine. If you abandon your post, you have effectively fired yourself, and we will replace you,” he added.

The warning came during questions for oral answers in parliament yesterday, where Syakalima was responding to Chama South MP Davies Mung’andu, who expressed concern over the growing number of teachers abandoning rural posts and asked what measures government is putting in place to ensure pupils’ education is not disrupted.

Syakalima also addressed concerns about favoritism and nepotism in hiring, warning that personal connections will not secure employment in the education sector.

“And colleagues, don’t come to my office asking for favours. If you say ‘this is my niece,’ know that your niece will not get a job,” he said.

Lusaka medical Doctor Resigns to Join Politics

Lusaka Doctor Resigns to Join Politics.

A medical doctor based at Levy Mwanawasa Teaching Hospital in Lusaka has resigned from public service to join active politics under the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND), with a strong focus on supporting the education sector.

Dr Philip Bulaya, who intends to contest as Member of Parliament for a proposed new constituency to be created following the delimitation of Malole Constituency by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), confirmed that he has resigned ahead of his scheduled retirement in 2030.

Speaking to Isunga News in a telephone interview, Dr Bulaya said his decision to resign early was motivated by his desire to serve his community directly and reinvest his personal earnings into local development initiatives.

He disclosed that he has already purchased iron sheets and plans to use his own resources to construct two staff houses at Shimpa and Chimbola Primary Schools, among other learning institutions, in order to improve teachers’ accommodation in Mungwi District.

Dr.  Bulaya said his passion for supporting the education sector stems from his own educational journey, which enabled him to study at several local and international universities and later specialise in the treatment of bone fractures.

He added that he was particularly moved by President Hakainde Hichilema’s recent remarks about learning under difficult circumstances due to the inability of some parents to afford school fees-an experience that inspired the introduction of free education in Zambia.

The aspiring parliamentary candidate further revealed plans to work closely with community members to support the construction of additional classroom blocks at Shimpa and Chimbola schools to help decongest existing facilities.

Meanwhile, Dr Bulaya has appealed to the Mungwi District Administration, through the Mungwi Town Council, to expedite the approval of building plans for the staff houses he intends to fund so that construction can begin without delay.

He noted that Shimpa Primary School currently faces a critical shortage of teacher accommodation following the collapse of a staff house.

MUUNDA LEADS FLOOD RESPONSE EFFORTS IN CHAWAMA

Chawama, Lusaka 11th February 2026

By Jack Makayi

UPND aspiring Member of Parliament for Chawama Constituency, Mr. Morgan Muunda has stepped up flood response efforts by delivering essential support to affected communities during the ongoing rainy season.

Several parts of Chawama have experienced flooding in recent weeks, prompting urgent mitigation measures to prevent further damage and potential disease outbreaks. In response, Mr. Muunda donated a range of tools and equipment to assist in coordinated flood control efforts. The donated items include 20 picks, 20 shovels, 30 work suits, 30 pairs of gumboots, helmets, gloves, pressure sprayers, and a Tata truck to facilitate drainage clearing and debris removal.

To address growing public health concerns, particularly the risk of a cholera outbreak, Muunda also supplied 100 cases of chlorine and 90 cases of bleach to strengthen sanitation and hygiene standards in the affected areas.

As part of community-driven efforts, 80 youths have been engaged to dig and clear blocked drainage systems to improve water flow and reduce future flooding. To support their welfare during the exercise, Muunda committed to providing food supplies, including 100 chickens, bags of beans, and mealie meal.

Speaking during the intervention, Muunda expressed gratitude to residents for their resilience and cooperation during the crisis. He acknowledged reports that some residents have developed foot sores due to prolonged exposure to contaminated floodwaters and emphasized the need for sustained health protection measures.

He reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the well-being of Chawama residents and pledged continued efforts toward sustainable development and improved living conditions in the constituency.
Community members have welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely support amid challenging circumstances.

PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA PULLS SOUTH AFRICA OUT OF DRC AFTER DECADES OF SACRIFICE

PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA PULLS SOUTH AFRICA OUT OF DRC AFTER DECADES OF SACRIFICE

President Cyril Ramaphosa  has officially withdrawn South Africa’s entire peacekeeping force from the Democratic Republic of Congo, ending nearly three decades of military presence under the UN mission.

The decision comes after mounting pressure following soldier casualties and the need to “realign resources” back home.

Over 700 South African troops will exit the DRC before the end of 2026, leaving a critical gap as M23 rebels continue seizing territory in eastern Congo. After 27 years of sacrifice and service, Pretoria says it’s time to bring its soldiers home.

Is this the end of South Africa’s pan-African peacekeeping legacy, or a necessary pivot?

The timing has sparked debate across the continent.

OBAMA (THE TRAITOR) REGRETS K!LL!NG MUAMMAR GADDAFI

💔 OBAMA (THE TRAITOR) REGRETS K!LL!NG MUAMMAR GADDAFI.

Former US President BARACK OBAMA has stated that the “WORST MISTAKE” of his presidency was the lack of planning for the aftermath of the 2011 intervention in LIBYA, which led to the k!lling of MUAMMAR GADDAFI and subsequent chaos. While he believed the intervention itself was the right decision, he regretted the failure to prepare for the resulting power vacuum.

In a 2016 Fox News interview, OBAMA admitted that while the goal was to protect civilians from GADDAFI’s forces, the aftermath left LIBYA in a state of chaos.

He explicitly identified the lack of post-intervention planning as the worst mistake of his time in office. GADDAFI’S death plunged LIBYA into a power struggle between rival militias and governments, allowing extremist groups to gain influence.

Despite the regret, OBAMA maintained that the decision to intervene was the “RIGHT THING TO DO” to prevent a potential massacre.
OBAMA noted that he had initially believed other countries would take a larger role in the aftermath, and the failure to do so contributed to the chaos.

It shall never be well with you Barack Obama. Nemesis must surely catch up with you in this life… Hopefully, Donald J. Trump will arrest and imprison you.

You k!lled our greatest UNIFIER and PAN-AFRICANIST, but haven’t tendered an apology till date.

Zimbabwe Cabinet Backs Plan to Extend Mnangagwa’s Rule to 2030

Zimbabwe Cabinet Backs Plan to Extend Mnangagwa’s Rule to 2030

Zimbabwe’s Cabinet has approved draft legislation proposing sweeping constitutional changes that would extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s stay in office to 2030.

The proposed amendments would lengthen presidential terms from five years to seven years, allowing Mnangagwa, now 83, to remain in power beyond the current constitutional limit. If adopted, the changes would effectively reset the presidential term framework.

Among other significant proposals, the draft legislation seeks to replace direct presidential elections with a system in which the president would be elected by Parliament. It also includes provisions to expand presidential powers by allowing the head of state to appoint an additional ten senators.

Mnangagwa assumed power in November  2017 following the military-backed ousting of long-time leader Robert Mugabe, who had ruled Zimbabwe for 37 years.

FROM POVERTY TO POWER AND PROFIT? HOW THE WHITE HOUSE CHANGED PRESIDENTS’ FORTUNES

FROM POVERTY TO POWER AND PROFIT? HOW THE WHITE HOUSE CHANGED PRESIDENTS’ FORTUNES

The Oval Office has long been seen as a seat of power but history shows it can also be a path to riches or ruin. A striking look at U.S. presidents’ net worth before and after leaving office reveals dramatic rises, shocking falls, and a few fortunes left untouched.

Early presidents like Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe and Ulysses S. Grant left office financially battered, with once-wealthy men ending up nearly broke. Abraham Lincoln, by contrast, died with little, gaining only modestly during his time in office.

In the modern era, the story flips. Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan all saw their wealth surge after the presidency. The biggest winners? Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, who went from modest means to tens of millions, fueled by book deals and speaking fees.

At the extremes sit John F. Kennedy, already a billionaire, and Donald Trump, whose fortune dipped slightly. One thing is clear: for many presidents, the real payday begins after leaving the White House.

History Made: Tems Becomes First African Female Artist With Seven Billboard Hot 100 Entries

History Made: Tems Becomes First African Female Artist With Seven Billboard Hot 100 Entries

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has reached a major career milestone by becoming the first African female artist to record seven entries on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The record was achieved after her song What You Need debuted at number 93 this week, bringing her total appearances on the chart to seven.

With this feat, Tems now stands alongside Burna Boy and South African rock band Seether as African artists with the highest number of Billboard Hot 100 entries.

Fans across social media have celebrated the achievement, with many hailing Tems as a global music force and international superstar.

Tems’ global rise has been steady and impressive. Four years ago, she made history by becoming the first African artist to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with Wait For U, her collaboration with Future and Drake. The moment marked a major breakthrough for African representation on global charts.

Her current tie with Burna Boy and Seether could soon change, as J. Cole’s Bunce Road Blues, featuring Tems and Future, is expected to enter the chart soon. If it does, Tems will move ahead and hold the record alone as the African artist with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries.

This achievement further highlights Tems’ consistency, global appeal, and the growing influence of Nigerian and African music on the international stage.

GOVERNORS SNUB WHITE HOUSE AFTER TRUMP INVITE ROW
Bipartisan Meeting Axed as Democrats Shut Out

A long-standing White House tradition has been scrapped after President Trump invited only Republican governors to a meeting normally meant for leaders of both parties. The National Governors Association (NGA) has now canceled its annual White House gathering, breaking with decades of bipartisan practice.

The yearly event is designed to bring all U.S. state and territory governors together with the president to discuss shared national challenges. But when Democratic governors were excluded from the invite list, the NGA pulled the plug.

In a letter announcing the decision, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt said the association could not act as host under those circumstances. The NGA represents all 55 governors, he stressed, and could not be part of an event that left some out.

Despite the controversy, Stitt urged calm, warning against political division. Governors, he said, must “rise above” partisan battles and stay focused on serving the public especially when Washington is consumed by politics.

The message was clear: unity first, politics second.

CONSTITUTIONAL COUP!” TOP LAWYER ACCUSES ZANU-PF OF PLOTTING ILLEGAL POWER GRAB

BREAKING: “CONSTITUTIONAL COUP!” TOP LAWYER ACCUSES ZANU-PF OF PLOTTING ILLEGAL POWER GRAB

Zimbabwe’s leading advocate Thabani Mpofu has launched a blistering attack on ZANU-PF, accusing the ruling party of attempting to sneak in an entirely new constitution without the people’s consent. Mpofu says this is not a lawful amendment process but a dangerous constitutional ambush one that bypasses public participation and a national referendum.

He argues that a constitution belongs to the people, not to one political party acting alone. Parliament, Mpofu insists, only has authority to pass ordinary laws not to replace the supreme law of the land. He adds that ZANU-PF is governing on a disputed 2023 election mandate and failed to secure the two-thirds majority needed for such sweeping changes.

In a stinging rebuke, Mpofu points out that the minister driving the process even lost his own party’s internal elections, stripping him of moral authority. Fundamental constitutional change, he says, demands broad national consensus not partisan manoeuvres carried out without people’s consent.

✅ Providing trauma support for returning soldiers
✅ Working with Ukraine to recover bodies of the dead

Russian President Vladimir Putin has pledged to assist with the return of 17 South African men who became involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The commitment followed a phone call with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Tuesday.

Details about how the men ended up in the conflict have not been fully disclosed, but previous reports indicated some foreign nationals had been recruited or travelled to the region during the war.

South African authorities are expected to work with Russian officials on arrangements for their repatriation.

Russia modifies Shahed drones with Missiles, begins mass production, claims unstoppable power

The air war in Ukraine is intensifying as Russia modifies Iranian-designed Shahed drones with Soviet-era infrared (heat-seeking) missiles, MANPADS-type weapons and infrared countermeasures to evade and destroy Ukrainian interceptors.

Russia has also begun producing the Shahed drones domestically, reportedly manufacturing more than 5,000 units per month, ensuring a continuous supply for strikes on Ukrainian cities, energy infrastructure and military targets.

In a show of confidence, Russian officials claim that even well-equipped armies would struggle to stop its forces, signaling Moscow’s determination to escalate the aerial conflict and project military strength

Elon Musk plan to build a city on the Moon in less than 10 years

1

Mars can wait.

Elon Musk says SpaceX is dialing back its obsession with Mars and refocusing on the moon. In a post on X, Musk said the company’s new priority is building a “self-growing city” on the lunar surface.

It’s a pretty big pivot given his previous comments that Mars colonization is essential to humanity’s survival, and his past dismissal of NASA’s Moon-first Artemis program as a “distraction.” Now, SpaceX sits at the center of Artemis, holding a nearly $3B NASA contract to develop the lunar lander using Starship, the still-experimental mega-rocket that has yet to reach orbit and has a habit of exploding during tests.

Mars isn’t completely off the table, though. Musk says construction there could begin in five to seven years, but for now, the Red Planet is officially playing second fiddle.
