Trump reveals secret “sonic weapon” used in Venezuela raid: “nobody else knows about”

President Trump has confirmed the use of a classified “secret sonic” weapon during the recent U.S. military operation to abduct Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. In a revealing interview on Katie Pavlich Tonight, Trump bragged about the unprecedented technology, claiming the U.S. possesses “weapons nobody else knows about.”

The Terrifying Effects:
The world first heard rumors of this tech when Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt detailed the “amazing attack.” Eyewitness accounts from Maduro’s guards are chilling:

• Physical Trauma: Soldiers reportedly suffered from exploding headaches, were unable to stand, and began bleeding from the nose and vomiting blood.

• Intense Power: One witness described the sensation as a sound wave so intense it felt like their “head was exploding from the inside.”

• Mass Casualties: While the specific weapon’s toll is unknown, Venezuela’s Interior Minister reports at least 100 deaths during the raid on the presidential compound.

Global & Legal Fallout:
• Russia Reacts: The Kremlin has tasked “special services” with investigating Trump’s remarks, demanding more information on the mysterious device.

• Legal Debate: While sonic weapons aren’t illegal, legal experts and professors are questioning the overall legality of the abduction itself, calling it a “blatant, illegal and criminal act.”

Putin offers $1B in frozen assets to join Trump’s “Board of Peace” for Gaza

Putin offers $1B in frozen assets to join Trump’s “Board of Peace” for Gaza

In a major shift on the international stage, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Wednesday that Moscow is considering a $1 billion payment to secure a permanent seat on President Trump’s newly proposed “Board of Peace.”

The Details of the Deal:

• The Funding: Putin suggested the $1 billion could come from Russian assets that were frozen during the previous U.S. administration.

• The “Board of Peace”: This international body was recently unveiled by the White House to manage the transitional phase in Gaza following the ceasefire that halted the war.

• Membership Terms: While membership is free for the first three years, permanent status reportedly comes with a $1 billion price tag—a fee Putin has now instructed his Foreign Ministry to study.

The creation of the Board of Peace coincides with the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, a conflict that has seen over 71,000 lives lost since October 2023. Trump’s “Board of Peace” is set to work alongside a new National Committee for the Administration of Gaza to oversee the enclave’s future.

TRUMP SHOCKS DAVOS, PROMISES PROSECUTIONS OVER RIGGED 2020

Breaking: TRUMP SHOCKS DAVOS, PROMISES PROSECUTIONS OVER RIGGED 2020

In a room full of global elites in Davos, Trump did what nobody else on that stage dares: he said the quiet truth about 2020 out loud.

Not in a rally, not in a podcast, but right to the faces of the global ruling class.

He tied it directly to the war in Ukraine, telling them the invasion “wouldn’t have started” if the 2020 race hadn’t been “rigged. ” Then he dropped the line that made every regime lawyer in Washington sit up straight: “People will soon be prosecuted for what they did. ” Meanwhile, the same crowd that spent years chanting “most secure election in history” is now quietly admitting cracks in the story.

That Georgia 315,000-vote bombshell — which state officials say they “don’t dispute” — suddenly makes Trump’s questions look a lot less like conspiracy, and a lot more like overdue accountability.

The irony is brutal: Biden’s DOJ tried to throw Trump in prison for questioning the election.

Now it’s Trump, on the global stage, calmly promising that the people who bent the rules will finally face the consequences.

And then there was Greenland.

When pressed on whether he’d use force to acquire it, Trump leaned into what he actually does best: deals, leverage, strength without pointless wars — the exact opposite of Biden stumbling America into one disaster after another.

HOW HAS CHINA RESPONDED TO TRUMP ATTACK ON VENEZUELA?

By  Joe Adams

HOW HAS CHINA RESPONDED TO TRUMP ATTACK ON VENEZUELA?

📌  China has begun a series of practical measures, based on the awareness that the United States has turned control over Venezuelan oil into a means of suppressing the Chinese presence in South America and hindering its accelerated development of ties in South America.

📌 China has taken steps that directly target the vital lines of the American empire, because the aggression on Venezuela represents a declaration of war on the multi-polar world project and the “BRICS” group.

📌 A few hours after the news of the kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro spread, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for an “urgent” meeting of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party Politburo, which lasted exactly 120 minutes. No official statement was issued, nor diplomatic threats were launched; instead there was the silence that preceded the storm, as that meeting activated what Chinese strategists call “a comprehensive asymmetrical response,” in response to aggression targeting Chinese partners in the Western Hemisphere.

📌 Venezuela is a Chinese bridge towards Latin America inside the “back yard” of the United States.

📌 The first phase of the Chinese response began at 9:15 in the morning 4. on January, when the National Bank of China peacefully announced the temporary suspension of all US dollar transactions with companies affiliated with the US defense sector. Companies like Boeing, Locky Martin, Rayton and General Dynamics woke up to the news of all their deals with China being frozen without warning.

📌 At 11:43 of the same week, “China State Electric Grid Company”, which operates the largest electricity grid in the world, announced a comprehensive technical audit of all its contracts with American electrical equipment suppliers, in a step that practically means that China is beginning to break up with American technology.

📌 At 2:17 pm, “China National Oil Company”, the largest state-owned oil company in the world, announced the reorganization of its global supply strategy. It represented the reactivation of “weapon of energy”, through canceling the contracts from American refineries worth $47 billion per year.

📌 Oil that was intended for the east coast of the United States has been diverted to India, Brazil and South Africa, as well as other partners in the global south. This resulted in a 23% jump in oil prices during one trading session.

📌 But the most important of all is a clear strategic message: China is capable of energetically strangling the United States of America without firing a single bullet.

📌 In the next step, the “China Ocean Shipping Company”, which controls about 40% of the global maritime transport capacity, has implemented what it called “optimization of operational routes”.

📌 As a result, Chinese shipping has begun to avoid American ports such as Long Beach, Los Angeles, New York and Miami. These ports, which basically depend on Chinese maritime logistics to maintain their supply chains, suddenly found themselves without 35% of the usual container movement. It represented a real disaster for big companies like Walmart, Amazon and Targa, which depend on Chinese ships to import China-made goods into U.S. ports, as their supply chains suffered a partial collapse within a matter of hours.

📌 The most striking in these measures was their synchronized weather accuracy, which caused a chain reaction and doubled the economic effect in a huge way.
📌 It wasn’t about a gradual escalation, but a system shock designed to disable the American response ability.

📌 Before the American government was able to figure out this blow, China activated a new package of measures: mobilization of the global south. At 4:22 pm on the same week, the 4th. In January, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi offered Brazil, India, South Africa, Iran, Turkey and Indonesia, as well as 23 other countries (including Serbia), the current preferential trade conditions for any country that publicly undertakes not to recognize any Venezuelan government coming to power with American support or intervention.

📌 In less than 24 hours, 19 countries accepted the offer, with Brazil being first, followed by India, Russia, South Africa and Mexico. In this way, the concept of “a real multi polar world” was practically realized.

📌 China managed to form an anti-American coalition on the spot, using weapons of economic stimulus.
📌 And the “last touching point” came 5. in January, when Beijing activated financial weapons. China’s international inter-bank payments system has announced the expansion of its operating capacity to accommodate any international transaction that wants to bypass the Washington-controlled “SWIFT” system.

This means that China has presented to the world a complete and effective alternative to the Western financial system. So any state, company or bank that wants to trade without relying on the U.S. financial infrastructure can now use the Chinese system, which is 89% cheaper and faster.

📌 The answer was immediate and general: in the first 34 hours of work, transactions worth 89 billion dollars were processed, and central banks in 34 states opened operating accounts within the Chinese system, which means speeding up the process of dedollarization of one of the most important financing sources of the United States.

📌 On the technology front, China, which controls 60% (3/5) of the world’s production of rare minerals – elements vital for the semiconductor and electronic components industry – has announced a temporary restriction on the export of these minerals to any country that supported the abduction of President Nicolas Maduro. The decision has raised major concern among US tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, Google and Intel, which depend on Chinese supply chains for key components, as their manufacturing systems are now at risk of collapse in the next few weeks.

📌 Every Chinese move strikes a direct blow to the heart of economic imperialism of the United States.

“What has China done for Venezuela? “ask friends and foes alike. Above is a clear answer: without declaring war, China acts, influences and imposes new facts. Not with negativity, but simply closing some doors and opening others.

House Panel votes to hold Bill and Hillary Clinton in Criminal Contempt over Epstein Probe

House Panel votes to hold Bill and Hillary Clinton in Criminal Contempt over Epstein Probe

The Jeffrey Epstein investigation has reached a historic boiling point. In a move that has sent shockwaves through Washington, the House Oversight Committee voted Wednesday to recommend criminal contempt of Congress charges against former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The Breakdown of the Bipartisan Vote:

• Bill Clinton: Resolution passed 34-8. In a rare break from party lines, 9 Democrats joined all Republicans to support the measure.

• Hillary Clinton: Resolution passed 28-15, with 3 Democrats crossing the aisle to vote in favor.

• The Democrats who broke ranks: Reps. Maxwell Frost, Summer Lee, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, Raja Krishnamoorthi, Stephen Lynch, Emily Randall, Lateefah Simon, and Melanie Stansbury all voted to hold the former President in contempt.

Why it’s happening:
Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) argues the Clintons have “willfully defied” lawful subpoenas for months. While the Clintons claim they have shared “what little information” they know and offered a private, non-transcribed interview, the Committee is demanding transcribed, in-person depositions under oath.
“Subpoenas are not mere suggestions,” Comer stated. “They carry the force of law.”

What’s next?
The resolutions now head to the full House for a final vote. If approved, the referral will go to the Justice Department for potential criminal prosecution—a charge that carries up to a year in prison.

The Counter-Argument:
Opposing Democrats, like Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), called the move “political score-settling,” noting that the DOJ itself is currently behind on its legal mandate to release millions of pages of Epstein files to the public.

The Suzee Standard: Why the African Casting “Scandal” is a Matter of Choice

The Suzee Standard: Why the African Casting “Scandal” is a Matter of Choice

In the volatile world of adult entertainment and nightlife, the narrative often skips over the reality of the hustle. The buzz surrounding Ivo Suzee and the testimony of Kuruti Sizu has been labeled a “scandal,” but a closer look at the mechanics of his operation reveals a different story. It’s not a tale of innocence, but it is one of brutal, refreshing honesty in a business that is usually anything but.

The Reality of the Alternative
To understand why women like Kuruti Sizu not only participated but actively recruited others, you have to look at the typical alternative: the club scene.
Every night, thousands of women leave clubs with total strangers. In those scenarios, there is no contract, no discussion of health, and certainly no guaranteed payment. Most leave with nothing more than a few drinks in their system and a promised Uber ride home. They have no idea of the HIV status of the men they are with and no protection if things go sideways.

Compared to the chaos of the streets, Ivo Suzee offered a structured, public, and transparent alternative.
No Coercion, Just Business
The “shock factor” of Suzee’s methods—the on-site HIV testing and the “raw” nature of the encounters—was never a secret. His website is public, his terms are laid bare, and his process is surgical.

According to Sizu, the environment Suzee created was built on a foundation of upfront clarity that these women had never experienced before:

* The Public Reading: Suzee reads the contracts to everyone in the room. He demands that they ask questions. There is no fine print designed to trick anyone.
* Guaranteed Payouts: He pays the agreed amount before the work begins. In an industry where “getting ghosted” is the norm, Suzee’s cash-first policy changed the game.

* The Health Protocol: While critics attack the “raw” aspect, the performers saw the on-site HIV testing as a layer of security they never got in the clubs. They knew the status of everyone in the room before anything happened.

The Power of the Referral
The most telling part of this “scandal” is the recruitment. These ladies weren’t being lured into a trap; they were bringing their friends. They saw a man who was honest about his intentions, upfront with his cash, and meticulous about testing. For them, Suzee wasn’t a “savior,” but he was a reliable businessman in a sea of predators.
They knew exactly what they came for. They signed the papers, took the tests, and collected the money. In a world where safety and payment are usually gambles, Ivo Suzee made them a guarantee.

The Final Word: A Public Choice
Ivo Suzee isn’t operating in the shadows. His business is out in the open for anyone to see. The women who work with him aren’t victims of coercion; they are adults making a calculated choice to trade transparency and guaranteed pay for a “raw” encounter. It’s a transaction that might shock the public, but for those tired of the dangers of the club scene, it was the most honest deal in town.

CONGO HANDS TRUMP A MINERALS SHORTLIST BUT AFRICA, WHY ARE WE STILL GIVING AWAY OUR WEALTH?!

🌍💔CONGO HANDS TRUMP A MINERALS SHORTLIST BUT AFRICA, WHY ARE WE STILL GIVING AWAY OUR WEALTH?!🇨🇩💔🇺🇸

President Félix Tshisekedi’s DRC government just submitted a shortlist of state-owned mining projects to President Donald Trump’s administration:

1️⃣ Kisenge: manganese, gold, cassiterite
2️⃣ Gécamines: copper-cobalt, germanium
3️⃣ Sokimo: four gold permits
4️⃣ Cominière: lithium licenses
5️⃣ Sakima: coltan, gold, wolframite

THE SHOCKING REALITY:

The DRC holds 70% of the world’s COBALT — the mineral powering every phone, laptop, and electric vehicle on Earth! Congo also has massive reserves of copper, lithium, coltan, gold, and rare earth minerals worth TRILLIONS!

Yet we’re handing out shortlists to foreign powers like it’s a menu at a restaurant!

AFRICAN LEADERS, ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS:

➡️ Why are we STILL giving away our minerals instead of refining them ourselves?

➡️ Why does Congo mine cobalt but doesn’t manufacture batteries?

➡️ Why do we export lithium but import electric vehicles?

➡️ Why are we choosing between China and America instead of OWNING our own wealth?

THE SAHEL SHOWED US THE WAY!

Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger kicked out foreign military bases, renegotiated mining contracts, and are taking CONTROL of their gold and uranium! They said “ENOUGH!” to exploitation!

WHEN WILL CONGO DO THE SAME?

President Tshisekedi, with all due respect: Congo doesn’t need to submit “shortlists” to Trump or China. We need to:

➡️ Refine our OWN cobalt
➡️ Build our OWN processing plants
➡️ Manufacture our OWN batteries
➡️ Create our OWN electric vehicle industry
➡️ Keep the profits IN Congo, IN Africa!

TO ALL AFRICANS:

The DRC alone has enough minerals to power the entire world’s green energy transition. We have what THEY need. So why are we still negotiating like beggars?

THIS SHOULD BE OUR CENTURY!

Africa has 30% of the world’s mineral wealth, 60% of the world’s arable land, and the youngest population on Earth. We don’t need “partnerships”  we need OWNERSHIP!

The Sahel is rising. When will the rest of Africa follow?

President Tshisekedi, President Trump can wait. Let’s build OUR refineries first. Let’s process OUR minerals first. Let’s create jobs for OUR people first!

Africa’s wealth should benefit AFRICANS  not foreign stockholders!

TRUMPS GREENLAND DEAL FRAMEWORK DROPS EURO TARIFF THREAT

TRUMPS GREENLAND DEAL FRAMEWORK DROPS EURO TARIFF THREAT

The cameras in Davos were pointed at the usual global elites, but the real move happened quietly in the background.

While they talked about “managing decline,” President Trump was busy changing the board itself.

He announced that the U.S. has reached a framework for a deal over Greenland and the wider Arctic region.

Most people only heard “Greenland,” but here’s what many missed: this is about securing the far north before Russia and China do, without firing a shot.

Then something shifted.

Because of that breakthrough, Trump said he will hold back the heavy tariffs that were about to hit several European countries in early February.

Instead of escalation and panic in the markets, we saw stocks jump and American investors breathe a little easier.

In contrast to the old globalist script, this was pure peace-through-strength: use American leverage, protect our strategic interests, and still avoid an economic war with allies.

It’s the kind of deal that reminds the world that when America leads with confidence, everyone has to pay attention.

Many of us have felt that the world was spinning out of control, run by people who don’t really care about our families or our future.

But moments like this show something different: America still has a leader who knows how to negotiate hard, stand up to our enemies, and keep finding non‑violent ways to win.

POLL REVEALS TRUMP IMMIGRATION CRACKDOWN BACKED BY MAJORITY

POLL REVEALS TRUMP IMMIGRATION CRACKDOWN BACKED BY MAJORITY

The media spent years screaming that Trump’s immigration policies were “cruel,” “extreme,” and “un-American. ” Now a new poll quietly blows that narrative to pieces.

According to Plymouth Union Public Research, 57 percent of likely voters back Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

In other words, the majority of the country supports exactly what the ruling class calls “dangerous” and “fringe. ” It gets even more damning for the open-borders crowd: 74 percent of voters say fighting illegal immigration is an important issue for the president and Congress.

Nearly half call it “very important,” while just 7 percent shrug it off as “not important at all. ” So while Democrats obsess over labels and lectures, normal Americans are focused on the basics: borders, safety, and national sovereignty.

The people living with the consequences of illegal immigration are no longer buying the elite’s moral guilt trip.

Meanwhile, Trump’s position hasn’t moved an inch: enforce the law, secure the border, put American workers and families first.

The political class may hate that vision, but this poll shows something they really fear — the country doesn’t.

PAUL BIYA SIGNS CAMEROON’S FUTURE AWAY: 1.65 TRILLION FCFA IN NEW DEBT!

PAUL BIYA SIGNS CAMEROON’S FUTURE AWAY: 1.65 TRILLION FCFA IN NEW DEBT!

President Paul Biya just authorized borrowing 1.65 TRILLION FCFA (CFAF 1,650 billion):

➡️ 400 billion from domestic bonds
➡️ 250 billion from international private organizations
➡️ 1 TRILLION from external banking markets

PRESIDENT BIYA, ANSWER US:

Why are we STILL borrowing when Cameroon sits on oil, gold, diamonds, timber, and fertile land? Why are we mortgaging our children’s future to foreign banks when we have EVERYTHING we need beneath our feet?

AFRICA HAS :

✅ 30% of the world’s mineral reserves
✅ 60% of the world’s arable land
✅ Endless oil, gas, gold, diamonds, cobalt
✅ 1.4 BILLION people ready to work

Yet we keep BEGGING from the same people who stole from us for centuries!

This is not “development”—this is RECOLONIZATION by debt! Every loan comes with chains. Every interest payment is wealth leaving Africa. Every external borrowing is our sovereignty slipping away.

TO ALL AFRICAN LEADERS:

STOP borrowing and START building! Use OUR resources to fund OUR projects!

Tax the multinationals mining OUR gold! Refine OUR oil! Process OUR minerals! Keep the wealth IN Africa!

Our grandchildren will curse us for selling their future to foreign creditors while sitting on a goldmine.

President Biya, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Cameroon is NOT poor—but your policies are making us slaves to debt! This

Trump Considering Granting Asylum to UK Jews Amid Rising Antisemitism – “Safe Haven” Offer Exposed

Trump Considering Granting Asylum to UK Jews Amid Rising Antisemitism – “Safe Haven” Offer Exposed

The Telegraph reports President Trump is mulling a bold move: Granting asylum to Jews in the United Kingdom seeking relocation to the US due to surging antisemitic incidents. This “safe haven” proposal comes amid a 200% spike in UK hate crimes post-Gaza war, with Trump’s team eyeing streamlined visas for “persecuted” groups—echoing his pro-Israel stance and “America First” immigration tweaks.

🔸 The Offer: Asylum for UK Jews facing threats—potentially fast-tracked under religious persecution clauses, with numbers in “thousands” from Britain’s 300K+ Jewish community.

🔸 How We Got Here: Post-October 7, UK incidents hit records (ADL: 5K+ in 2025); Trump’s December synagogue attack response blasted “weak” European policies—now, this “haven” aligns with Netanyahu alliance.

🔸 Bigger Picture: Interesting context—Echoes 1930s Kindertransport but reversed (US as refuge); UK’s CST reports 2025 as “worst year”—questioning if “asylum” aids migration or signals Western rift.

🔸 Bottom Line: Trump’s gesture exposes elite fears—facts show antisemitism crisis real, questioning if “relocation” solves or highlights failure to protect at home.

PROMINENT ZIMBABWEAN JOURNALIST HOPEWELL CHIN’ONO CRITICISES BOTSWANA LEADERSHIP

PROMINENT ZIMBABWEAN JOURNALIST CRITICISES BOTSWANA LEADERSHIP

Zimbabwean investigative journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has criticised Botswana’s leadership for focusing on political disputes instead of the country’s urgent problems.

Chin’ono made the remarks after recent allegations that the Director General of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS), Peter Magosi, helped the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) win the 2024 general elections.

Botswana Congress Party (BCP) leader Dumelang Saleshando claimed President Duma Boko confided in him about Magosi’s role.

Motlatsi Molapisi, chairperson of the UDC and leader of the Botswana Peoples Party (BPP), said he had no knowledge of any collaboration between the DIS and the UDC.

Chin’ono said: “These guys are too playful. Hospitals need medication, the economy is sluggish, and yet they are spending time on useless debates instead of dealing with the country’s real problems.”

He added that he had been reading posts from Batswana complaining about governance and economic issues, asking: “What is going on in Botswana? Are things not working out as they expected?”

Chin’ono’s comments have drawn attention to Botswana’s political debates and growing public concern over national challenges.

WESTERN SANCTIONS: The Silent War Killing 500K+ People Every Year

WESTERN SANCTIONS: The Silent War Killing 500K+ People Every Year

A groundbreaking new study published in The Lancet has forced the world to confront the true human cost of US and EU sanctions.

Key findings:
Since 1971, economic sanctions have caused an estimated 564,258 deaths per year on average

That’s 5 times more than annual battlefield deaths in the same period

Sanctions drive a 3.1% annual increase in infant mortality and 6.4% rise in maternal mortality

The mechanism is brutally simple: blocked access to medicines, food, medical equipment, and healthcare infrastructure

The most devastating paradox:
Despite targeting roughly one-quarter of all countries between 2010–2022, sanctions achieve their stated political or economic goals only ~30% of the time (per independent meta-analyses).

In other words:
A policy tool with a 70% failure rate consistently delivers a near-100% humanitarian catastrophe on civilian populations — especially children, pregnant women, and the chronically ill.

This is not collateral damage.
This is the primary mechanism of modern sanctions: mass deprivation disguised as pressure on governments.

The Lancet study is the first comprehensive, peer-reviewed attempt to quantify the body count across decades of sanctions regimes. The numbers are staggering, and the conclusion is inescapable:
Western sanctions are one of the deadliest forms of foreign policy in modern history.

NIGERIA POLICE CONFIRM MASS CHURCH ABDUCTIONS AFTER PREVIOUS DENIAL

NIGERIA POLICE CONFIRM MASS CHURCH ABDUCTIONS AFTER PREVIOUS DENIAL

THIS is one of the three churches attacked Nigeria’s police have now confirmed that a group of worshippers was kidnapped from three churches in a remote part of the northern Kaduna state, after previously denying it.

More than two days after the raid on the Kurmin Wali village, police on Tuesday night said that an earlier statement denying the attack had been “widely misinterpreted”.

Local residents told the BBC that 177 worshippers had been abducted but that 11 later escaped.

Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin did not give any numbers but said subsequent checks by operational units and intelligence sources had confirmed the abduction.

He said security forces had been fully deployed to the area, and that search-and-rescue operations and patrols were under way.

The police spokesperson added that the earlier statement was “not a denial of the incident but a measured response pending confirmation of details from the field, including the identities and number of those affected”.

One eyewitness said the attack happened at about 10:00 local time on Sunday.

“Some people tried to run, but they couldn’t because the armed men had surrounded the village,” he said. “They gathered people together and later forced them to march into the bush.”

Residents said the attack affected three churches two which are part of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, and one from the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA).

In a joint statement with local government officials on Monday, Kaduna state police commissioner Alhaji Muhammad Rabiu described the reports of a kidnapping as “mere falsehood which is being peddled by conflict entrepreneurs who want to cause chaos”.

He challenged “anyone to list the names of the kidnapped victims and other particulars.”

The chairman of Kajuru local government area, which includes Kurmin Wali, Dauda Madaki, said security forces had been sent to the area but found no sign of a kidnapping.

”We visited the church where the so-called kidnap took place. There was no evidence of the attack. I asked the village head, Mai Dan Zaria, and he said that there was no such attack.”

A list of those kidnapped seen by the BBC on Tuesday contains more than 160 names, though this has not been independently verified.

Amnesty International has criticised Nigeria’s authorities over what it described as “the desperate denial” of the kidnapping.

The rights group said: “Authorities must also take immediate and concrete measures to prevent rampant abductions that are gradually becoming the norm in Nigeria.”

The worshipers were reportedly kidnapped during the Sunday service
In November, more than 300 students and teachers were seized from a Catholic school in neighbouring Niger state. They were later released in two successive groups. This was among a spate of kidnappings that made international headlines.

Nigeria is facing numerous security challenges including kidnappings for ransom by criminal gangs, an Islamist insurgency in the north-east, separatist violence in the south-east, and a battle between herders and farmers in the centre over access to land and water.

Experts say corruption, poor intelligence sharing and underfunded local policing have hampered efforts to tackle the various crises.

Nigeria’s defence minister resigned last month at the height of the kidnapping crisis, officially for health reasons, according to the president’s office.

The US last month took military action in Nigeria – launching airstrikes on Christmas Day on two camps run by an Islamist militant group in north-western Nigeria.

US President Donald Trump has followed up by warning of more strikes if Christians continued to be killed in the West African nation.

There are more than 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria, which is roughly divided into a mainly Muslim north, a largely Christian south, with intermingling in the middle – and the government says people of all faiths have been victims of attacks.

A Nigerian foreign ministry spokesman responded to Trump’s warning by saying that Nigeria would continue to engage constructively with partners such as the US.

”Nigeria remains committed to protecting all citizens, Christians and Muslims alike, without discrimination,” Alkasim Abdulkadir said.

If lying is a crime, Hichilema and several of his officials must be in Mukobeko by now – Sishuwa Sishuwa

9

Dr Sishuwa writes:

Miles Sampa says one lie. He is arrested and kept in detention indefinitely. Hakainde Hichilema says a thousand lies. He is made president and kept in his position by more lies from him and his officials such as the promise to pay all farmers by 10 January. RELEASE MILES SAMPA!

Miles was arrested only after Hichilema abandoned his so-called rest to go live on TV via a call to talk about Miles having committed a crime – of lying.

Pause for a moment and think about this: Hichilema, who lied his way into power or for whom lying appears to be something he does compulsively, complaining about lying! How rich! I repeat: If lying is a crime, Hichilema and several of his officials must be in Mukobeko by now!

https://youtu.be/DEyhm4mOGw0?si=_g6_eaDtAWBab8QU

The offence for which Miles Sampa has had been charged, ridiculous as it may be, is a bondable/bailable one. The sureties have been ready since yesterday. Let the police release Miles or take him to court so that he can be given bail. It’s evil to detain people indefinitely.

By the way, the offence for which Miles Sampa has been arrested, publication of false news, was declared unconstitutional in 2014 by the High Court.

Tonse Alliance Divisions Deepen as KBF Walks Out

⬆️ BRIEFING | Tonse Alliance Divisions Deepen as KBF Walks Out

The opposition Tonse Alliance faced fresh internal strain after Kelvin Fube Bwalya, leader of the Zambia Must Prosper, walked out of a Tonse Council of Leaders meeting, citing concerns over procedure, legitimacy, and alleged manipulation.

Bwalya, popularly known as KBF, objected to the presence of a large delegation from what he described as an unregistered organisation linked to Brian Mundubile, the Mporokoso Member of Parliament.

He argued that the meeting had departed from agreed standards, noting that registered parties such as ZMP, Forum for Democracy and Development led by Chifumu Banda, and the Christian Democratic Movement led by Dan Pule were being placed on the same footing as entities without formal legal standing

According to Bwalya, former State House political adviser Zumani Zimba was attempting to influence the alliance structure in a manner that favoured Mundubile. He questioned why such efforts were being pursued through what he described as unclear and irregular arrangements.

“We cannot participate in a process that has no rules and no clarity,” Bwalya said, adding that he would not legitimise what he termed a murky process.

After demanding that clear rules be applied to the composition and conduct of the meeting, Bwalya and his delegation left the gathering.

The walkout adds to growing questions around the Tonse Alliance’s cohesion and governance. While the alliance was formed to present a united opposition front, recurring disputes over leadership, membership, and decision making have exposed structural weaknesses.

No official response had been issued by the Tonse Alliance leadership at the time of publication.

WHY IS MILES SAMPA STILL DETAINED? PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT MUNDUBILE DEMANDS ANSWERS

WHY IS MILES SAMPA STILL DETAINED? PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT MUNDUBILE DEMANDS ANSWERS.

Wednesday, 21 January 2025 (Smart Eagles)

Presidential aspirant Brian Mundubile has questioned why the Zambia Police appear to be disregarding directives issued by President Hakainde Hichilema, particularly on the handling of suspects charged with bailable offences.

President Hichilema has previously stated that no individual should be arrested before investigations are conducted and those facing bondable offences must not be detained unnecessarily.

Hon. Mundubile was speaking after visiting Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa who has been in police detention since yesterday over an alleged cyber-related offence.

He has expressed concern over what he described as conflicting positions between the President and the Inspector General of Police Graphel Musamba and questioned whether the police leadership was acting independently of presidential guidance.

“We want to know whether the Inspector General of Police is a law unto himself, even to the extent of disregarding what the President has said,” Mr Mundubile said.

He added that the police had failed to provide clear reasons for the continued detention of the Matero lawmaker.

Mr Mundubile noted that President Hichilema has on several occasions publicly assured the nation that suspects particularly those facing bailable offences should not be detained unnecessarily.

“The President has repeatedly assured the nation that suspects will not be held unnecessarily, especially in cases involving bailable offences. We are therefore wondering why Mr Sampa continues to be detained,” he said.

Mr Mundubile has called upon President Hichilema and the Inspector General of Police to reconcile their public statements.

He said the continued detention of Mr Sampa raises questions about whether presidential directives are being respected by the Zambia Police.

NEVERS MUMBA IS A CRIMINAL CONVICT- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

POLITICAL OPPORTUNISM

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba Wrote;

“How Treachery and Betrayal Ruin Promising Careers”

I found it suitable to use the life of a promising career of Pastor Neves Mumba as an example.

In my view, he was a perfect example of how great political opportunity, political fortune and immense public goodwill can be squandered because young people choose shortcuts, engage in betrayal, treachery and display naked ambitions and thereby lose what appeared to be have been automatic rise in career.

NEVERS MUMBA IS A CRIMINAL CONVICT

Pastor Nevers Mumba was convicted of the crime of Abuse of Authority of Office.

On September 11, 2018, Pastor Mumba was convicted on two counts of abuse of authority of office related to his tenure as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Canada.

He was found guilty of failing to follow procedures in awarding contracts for carpeting and electrical works at the Zambian residence in Canada.

He was also convicted for irregular disbursement of $500,000 donated by the mining giant, Barrick Gold, to the Zambian High Commission in Canada, meant for a cultural exchange program.

I chose not to bring these matters up.

I think I believe in building people than to tear them down.

Therefore my article was about how young politicians miss great opportunities and squander political fortunes because of their naked ambitions, political opportunism, impatience, and poor judgment.

I merely used the test case of Nevers Mumba as a perfect example.

I HAVE A DISTINGUISHED RECORD

In my write-up, I chose to ignore the dirt around Pastor Nevers Mumba, including his criminal conviction by a competent court of law for theft and abuse of office.

In comparison, my tour of duty as a senior diplomat for eight years: as Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa, as Ambassador to Ethiopia, as Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and as Permanent Representativebto the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) remains distinguished with remarkable trail of success, admirable record and a good legacy.

However Pastor Mumba chose to respond by issuing defamatory remarks, dangerous allegations, and utter insults against me.

So, I reserve the right to seek proper redress for his defamatory statements. It’s a matter for another day.

POLITICAL OPPORTUNISM

But let me demonstrate and buttress my earlier point against political opportunism that ruin careers of young politicians and I will use one of my experiences with Pastor Mumba.

Within a mere fourteen months after his contraversial appointment as Republican Vice President, President Levy Mwanawasa fired Mumba.

In October 2004 President Levy Mwanawasa fired Mumba for gross insubordination, specifically for refusing to retract public comments he made accusing the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) of harbouring individuals he alleged were working against the Republic of Zambia.

Despite President  Mwanawasa’s earlier apology to President Joseph Kabila, Mumba said he didn’t regret his remarks and refused to apologise.

President Mwanawasa stated that Mumba breached his oath of allegiance and showed a lack of remorse, and proceeded to revoke his appointment as Member of Parliament, and removed him from  the position of Vice President with immediate effect.

In fact, in 2003, Mumba’s appointment was deemed unconstitutional as he was not eligible for the position as he had contested the 2001 general election.

The law forbids contestants that had  lost elections from being nominated as MPs. I think the framers of the Constitution were clear, they did not desire that losers of an election should come through the back-door.

Mumba stood in the 2001 presidential elections under his earlier party, the National Citizen Coalition (NCC).

He obtained 38,000 votes of the 1.7million total votes, which was 2.1% of the votes.

The results were;

MWANAWASA Levy P. , MMD-506,695, (28.6%)
MAZOKA Anderson K. , UPND-472,697(26.9%)

TEMBO Christon S. (Lt.Gen.), FDD- 228, 861 (12.29%)
KAUNDA Tilyenji C. , UNIP-175,898 (9.93%)

MIYANDA Godfrey K. (Brig.Gen.), HP-140,688 (7.94%)
MWILA Benjamin Y. , ZRP-85,473 (4.83%)
SATA Michael C., PF 59,172 (3.34%)
MUMBA Nevers S. (Dr), NCC 38,860 (2.19%)
KONIE Gwendoline C. , SDP 10,253 (0.58%)
MBIKUSITA-LEWANIKA Inonge (Dr), AZ 9,882 (0.56%).
SHAMAPANDE Yobert K. (Dr),NLD 9,481 (0.54%)

Mwanawasa argued that the appointment of Mumba was not unconstitutional as he was appointed as Vice President and not as an MP.

But to be a Vice President, one needed to be a member of parliament… Anyway that’s a story for another day.

MUMBA IGNORES VALUABLE ADVICE

When he was fired as Vice President, Mumba called our office that he urgently wanted to meet President Frederick Chiluba.

I went to meet Mumba at his temporary or quickly rented home on Independence Avenue in Woodlands near Woodlands Zamtel Office.

” I thought you were an older man.” he said when he ushered me to a sit outside in the grass garden.

“Because the day you were fired, the matter was mentioned in Cabinet (Administrative Assitant at the Office of the Second President)  and I wondered; Who is this Emmanuel Mwamba?  “naumbi umuntu wesu batamfya,” he said refering to my dismissal from public service by Mwanawasa.

Mwanawasa had fired me (through Permanent Secretary at Cabinet Office, Oliver Kalabo).

The contention was that I could not speak as an official spokesperson for the Second President while I held the position of a civil servant.

Anyway, I contested my dismissal at the High Court.

I won!

My fight with Mwanawasa was personal to him. This was because I was a face of his nemesis and arch political rival, Frederick Chiluba who maintained his customary golden silence while I waged a fierce media war for him for all those years.

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, George Kunda SC, was directed to immediately appeal my high court victory and contested it in the Supreme Court.

At the Supreme Court, I won!

The Supreme Court, like the High Court revoked the dismissal and reinstated me with immediate effect, and ordered that I be paid with full back pay and accumulated allowances.

The case had taken almost five years.

Back to the story.

At their subsequent meeting with the former President, Dr. Nevers Mumba sought help from Dr. Chiluba recognising his great influence in the MMD.

Mumba disclosed that he intended to challenge President Levy Mwanawasa at the forthcoming MMD Convention billed for 2005 and claimed he had wide support and a great chance to beat Mwanawasa.

President Chiluba’s advice was clear.

“Do not announce your intention now. You are no longer Vice President, friends will become few. Stay low, this will prevent or avoid any disciplinary process or suspension or expulsion. A challenge to the President, not just a Party President, but a sitting  Republican President, is a serious matter, and he will quickly expel you. Do not give him a chance to do so, do NOT announce your intention now. It will be extremely premature.”

Mumba thanked President Chiluba and informed him that he was going to meet his elder brother too (Zambia’s founding President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda).

Serval road in Kabulonga was literally a President’s lane. Dr. Kaunda, Michael Chilufya Sata, Hakainde Hichilema and Dr Chiluba all had houses or lived on the same stretch of road.

Suprisingly, a few days later, Mumba announced that he was going to challenge President Mwanawasa during the MMD Convention planned for 2005.

When we discussed the matter, President Chiluba was amused but not surprised.

“Ebwafya bwa mwaice wesu. He takes the advice of the last person he has consulted and not the quality of sound advice”.

“He will be expelled sooner than later and as I warned, he will not set foot at the MMD Convention.”

It didn’t long before a rushed disciplinary process was commenced against Pastor Mumba and the National Executive Committee expelled him.

At the MMD Convention held in Kabwe in July 2005, Dr. Katele Kalumba, who was facing corruption charges alongside Dr. Chiluba, shocked both President Mwanawasa and his new team when he announced at the premises of the Convention that he was standing for the second most powerful position of National Secrrtary, and proceeded to beat the incumbent, Mwanawasa’s strong candidate and key pillar, Vernon Johnson Mwaanga, to scoop the coveted position.

Maybe if Mumba had not rushed and taken the free but valuable advice from Dr. Chiluba, he would probably have stood a chance!

MORE POLITICAL OPPORTUNISM END IN FAILURE

Mumba proceeded to form yet another political party (Reform Party) in 2006, which was involved in similar debacles and his attempt to stand under a new political alliance or to stand as an MP in Chinsali under the PF all backfired.

Many will remember that like the proverbial hyena, seeking two paths, Mumba”s steps ended in failure

The Reform Party joined hands with the National Democratic Front Alliance where he was thoroughly beaten by Benjamin Mwila.

After his expulsion in 2001 from the MMD Mwila had formed the Zambia Republican Party. In 2006 the Party entered into a political alliance with Mumba’s Rrform Party.

When Mumba was trounced at the Alliance election, Mumba, at the last minute attempted to stand as an MP under the Patriotic Front. Mr Sata was gracious enough to give him an adoption certificate amd he travelled overnight to stand in Chinsali as an MP.

However, his own cousin, Christopher Mulenga, who had worked for the Chinsali seat since 2002 refused to pave way and the Patriotic Front members chased Mumba!

Because of his political opportunism, he didnt stand as President or MP…

“Chimbwi afwile intangalilo” was what political pundits likened his embarrasing display of desperation in 2006.

But that’s a story for another day.

Argentina’s Dark History of Erasing Black People: How War, Disease, Discrimination, and “Racial Whitening” Wiped Out Generations of Afro-Argentines and Left the Country Almost Without a Black Population

Argentina’s Dark History of Erasing Black People: How War, Disease, Discrimination, and “Racial Whitening” Wiped Out Generations of Afro-Argentines and Left the Country Almost Without a Black Population

Most people don’t realize it, but Argentina is one of the only South American countries with almost no Black population, unlike Brazil, Colombia, or Venezuela. This didn’t happen naturally—it was the result of decades of systemic hardships, wars, and social policies that targeted Afro-Argentines.

Here’s the full story:

1️⃣ Few Enslaved Africans Were Brought to Argentina
During the colonial period, Argentina’s economy was mostly cattle ranching and small farms, not the large sugar or coffee plantations seen in Brazil or the Caribbean. Because of this, the Spanish colonizers imported far fewer enslaved Africans—estimates suggest only 100,000–150,000 over several centuries. The smaller Black population made them more vulnerable to later social pressures and erasure.

2️⃣ High Mortality From Disease and Hardship
Afro-Argentines faced extremely harsh conditions. Many died young from disease, malnutrition, and overwork. During colonial conflicts and wars of independence, Black men were often forced into the army, where casualties were high. This significantly reduced the Black population over generations.

3️⃣ Discrimination and Social Marginalization
Even outside wars, Afro-Argentines were socially marginalized, denied economic opportunities, and often excluded from official records and censuses. Over time, this made Black communities less visible and more likely to lose their cultural identity.

4️⃣ Mass European Immigration and “Racial Whitening” (Blanqueamiento)
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Argentina encouraged millions of Europeans—mostly Italians and Spaniards—to settle in the country. The government and elite society actively promoted a policy called “blanqueamiento”, or racial whitening. Afro-Argentines were pressured to:

Intermarry with Europeans,

Hide or abandon their African heritage,

Assimilate into European-style culture,

And in some cases, move away from cities where Black communities were concentrated.

This policy, combined with historical marginalization, systematically erased Afro-Argentine culture and history, making it nearly invisible today.

5️⃣ Cultural Erasure
Today, very few Argentines openly identify as Black (less than 2%), and traditional music, dances, and stories of Afro-Argentines are largely forgotten. Even scholars note that Black contributions to tango, folk music, and other national traditions were minimized or attributed to Europeans.

6️⃣ The Result Today
Argentina’s near-total erasure of its Black population is now one of the most extreme cases of social and cultural disappearance in South America. While other countries proudly celebrate Afro-descendant communities, in Argentina, most people are unaware that the country even had a significant Black population.

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni’s son Army Commander General Muhoozi Kainerugaba threatens ‘in hiding’ opposition leader Bobi Wine, orders him to surrender to the police or be killed.

MBABANE:General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Ugandan Army Commander and President Yoweri Museveni’s son, has threatened opposition leader Bobi Wine who has been in hiding since last week disputed elections, urging him to surrender to the police or be killed.

The Army Commander who is strategically positioned to take over after the death of his father, wrote on X on Tuesday, saying the Ugandan Army has killed twenty-two (22) members of the opposition party, the National Unity Platform (NUP) led by Robert Kyagulanyi known as Bobi Wine.

“We have killed 22 NUP terrorists since last week,” Kainerugaba wrote on X Tuesday.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Wine claimed he has “evidence” of election fraud, including videos purporting to show election commission officials filling in ballot papers in favour of Museveni.

But a Spokesperson from the Electoral Commission of Uganda declined to speak to Al Jazeera about this allegation.

On another note, the Ugandan Army Commander ordered the opposition leader to surrender to the police or be declared a rebel adding that, being declared a rebel would mean, he will be the twenty-third (23rd) ‘terrorist’ to be killed by the Ugandan Army.

“I’m giving him exactly 48 hours to surrender himself to the Police. If he doesn’t we will treat him as an outlaw/rebel and handle him accordingly,” he said.

Did Emmanuel Mwamba have a hand in former President Frederick Chiluba’s death?

Did Emmanuel Mwamba have a hand in former President Frederick Chiluba’s death? Former vice president Nevers Mumba wonders.

We share part of his write up hereunder:

There are questions about Emmanuel Mwamba’s integrity that many Zambians have over the years asked and demand scrutiny over but to no avail.

For instance, What precisely was his role in the events surrounding, and leading up to, the untimely death of our dear Former President Frederick Chiluba, and why has he remained conspicuously absent from any official account or investigation?

On what legal or ethical basis did he soon afterwards receive sudden rewards and appointments under Michael Sata’s Patriotic Front, when we all know the relations that existed between Sata and FTJ just before the 2011 elections? Whose interest was Emmanuel genuinely serving all along and in whose interest were these sudden gains offered to him?

If these rewards were intended as recognition for President Chiluba’s role in expanding the PF from one MP to 42 MPs when he supported the party in 2006, then why was this appreciation not extended to the Chiluba family, whose inheritance and legacy issues remain unfairly unresolved to this day?

Can someone explain how and why the Chiluba children were abandoned and publicly shamed, some caught in needless scandals, while their father’s aide crossed over to the PF and received multiple rewards?

Ba Mwamba, can you please provide answers to avoid speculations.

Thank you!

Congo lost the match. But Lumumba WON at life.

First, the President rewarded him. Now, the Minister of Sports. All because he dared to be DIFFERENT. All because he chose PRINCIPLE over comfort.

While everyone else was sitting, he was STANDING for something bigger than football. And the universe noticed.

This is proof: when you move with PURPOSE and HONOR your ancestors, blessings will chase you down.

Never underestimate the power of doing what’s right, even when it costs you everything.

ISHOWSPEED IN NIGERIA: “THEY’RE BEGGING ME FOR MONEY — THIS NEVER HAPPENED IN OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES”

The world’s biggest streamer IShowSpeed just landed in Nigeria, and within MINUTES, people are swarming him… not for photos, not for love, but to BEG for money.

Speed himself said: “I don’t understand what they’re saying.”

Here’s the painful part: He’s been touring Africa for a MONTH—Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Senegal, Uganda—and this NEVER happened. Not once. Only in Nigeria.

NIGERIA, WE NEED TO TALK.

We are the GIANT of Africa. We have the talent, the hustle, the intelligence, the oil, the creativity. Afrobeats is conquering the world because of US. Nollywood is global because of US. Nigerian excellence is EVERYWHERE.

So why are we the ones begging in the streets?

This isn’t about POVERTY it’s about DIGNITY. It’s about how we present ourselves to the world. Other African countries are poor too, but they don’t mob tourists begging for handouts.

WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS.

We are not beggars. We are BUILDERS. We are CREATORS. We are KINGS and QUEENS. But the world will never see that if all they see is us chasing foreigners for money.

Nigeria, let’s protect our image. Let’s protect our pride. Let’s show the world the REAL us—the hardworking, innovative, unstoppable Nigeria.

Make we calm down, abeg.

Pentagon Announces Major Reduction in U.S. Involvement in NATO Advisory Groups, Cutting ~200 Personnel Positions

Breaking News : Pentagon Announces Major Reduction in U.S. Involvement in NATO Advisory Groups, Cutting ~200 Personnel Positions

In a move signaling the Trump administration’s continued push to scale back America’s military footprint in Europe, the Pentagon is planning to significantly reduce U.S. participation across nearly 30 NATO advisory bodies, command elements, and specialized centers. These include intelligence fusion units, special operations commands, maritime operations headquarters, and multiple Centres of Excellence.

The cuts will eliminate approximately 200 U.S. military personnel positions, primarily by allowing them to phase out naturally as current assignments end rather than through immediate withdrawals.

This process is expected to unfold over several years. The reduction affects roughly half of the approximately 400 Americans currently serving in these NATO entities.

The decision comes amid broader tensions in transatlantic relations, including recent diplomatic friction over issues such as Greenland. It follows earlier actions such as the 2025 withdrawal of around 700–1,000 rotational U.S. troops from Romania, leaving roughly 1,000 remaining, and reductions in security assistance funding to Baltic nations under programs like the Baltic Security Initiative.

While the overall U.S. military presence in Europe remains at approximately 80,000 troops, with the majority stationed in Germany, U.S. officials emphasize that this adjustment targets advisory and support roles rather than frontline combat forces. European allies and NATO officials have been notified, with some expressing concerns about the alliance’s long-term cohesion and deterrence posture against potential threats.

Trump Pushes for ‘Decisive’ Military Options Against Iran After Halting Strikes – WSJ Reports

Breaking News : Trump Pushes for ‘Decisive’ Military Options Against Iran After Halting Strikes – WSJ Reports

In a stunning escalation amid Iran’s brutal crackdown on nationwide protests, President Donald Trump is reportedly pressing his aides for “decisive” military actions against the Iranian regime, just days after pulling back from authorizing strikes last week.

According to sources familiar with the discussions, Trump has repeatedly emphasized the need for any U.S. response to have a profound and definitive impact, potentially aimed at weakening or even toppling the regime. This comes as U.S. military assets, including fighter jets and carrier strike groups, continue to build up in the region, keeping “all options on the table.”

The move follows Trump’s vocal support for Iranian protesters, where he declared “help is on the way” and criticized Supreme Leader Khamenei, amid reports of thousands killed in the regime’s violent suppression.

Ukraine Defence Minister Says Military Aims to Inflict 50,000 Russian C∆sualties Per Month

Breaking News : Ukraine Defence Minister Says Military Aims to Inflict 50,000 Russian C∆sualties Per Month

Ukraine’s newly appointed Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has stated that the country’s armed forces are seeking to inflict up to 50,000 Russian c∆sualties per month as part of their ongoing military strategy.

Speaking to Ukrainian media, Fedorov said that increasing Russian battlefield losses is intended to place sustained pressure on Moscow and make the continuation of the war increasingly difficult over time. He framed the target as part of a broader approach focused on measurable military outcomes rather than symbolic actions.

The defence minister also emphasized internal accountability within Ukraine’s military structure. According to Fedorov, commanders and officials will be assessed strictly on performance, and those who fail to demonstrate effective results on the battlefield will be replaced.

The remarks come amid continued heavy fighting across multiple fronts, with both Ukraine and Russia reporting significant losses. Ukraine remains reliant on a combination of domestic production, foreign military assistance, and personnel management to sustain long-term operations.

Fedorov’s statement reflects Kyiv’s current focus on attrition as a central element of its war strategy, highlighting the scale and intensity of ongoing combat operations.

Zelensky Says Ukraine Spent €80 Million on Air Defense Missiles in a Single Day, Warns of Growing Shortages

🚨 Breaking News : Zelensky Says Ukraine Spent €80 Million on Air Defense Missiles in a Single Day, Warns of Growing Shortages

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that Ukraine expended approximately €80 million worth of air-defense missiles in just one day while repelling a large-scale Russian aerial assault.

Speaking publicly after the overnight attack, Zelensky stressed that the cost reflects only the interceptor missiles used by Ukrainian air-defense forces, underlining the extreme financial and logistical strain placed on the country’s defenses.

According to Zelensky, securing both the missiles themselves and the funding required to sustain air-defense operations is becoming increasingly difficult.

He emphasized that while Ukraine continues to intercept a significant number of incoming missiles and drones, the high cost of modern air-defense systems makes long-term sustainability a critical challenge, particularly as Russia maintains the ability to launch mass strikes.

Credible international and Ukrainian media outlets report that the €80 million figure is an estimated procurement cost of the interceptor missiles used during that single night of intense combat, not Ukraine’s total daily military spending.

The amount varies depending on the types of systems deployed, including high-end Western-supplied interceptors, which can cost several million euros per missile.

TRUMP SHOCKS DAVOS, PROMISES PROSECUTIONS OVER RIGGED 2020

🚨 Breaking: TRUMP SHOCKS DAVOS, PROMISES PROSECUTIONS OVER RIGGED 2020

ZAMBIANS WILL VOTE FOR ANY SMALL PARTY BACKED BY PF TO REMOVE UPND – BRENDA NYIRENDA

ZAMBIANS WILL VOTE FOR ANY SMALL PARTY BACKED BY PF TO REMOVE UPND – NYIRENDA

LUNDAZI PF MP Brenda Nyirenda says Zambians are so determined to remove the UPND from power that they are willing to vote for any small party that is backed by the former ruling party.

Last week, UPND Deputy Chairperson for Elections Likando Mufalali said his party would introspect on the Chawama by-election loss, acknowledging that some areas may have been underrated.

Commenting on this in an interview, Tuesday, Nyirenda said citizens were ready to vote for any party, as long as it was backed by the PF.

“People are resolved, that’s a fact. Now, how can you know that the people are resolved? We used NCP in Petauke, what happened? It won the election. They (Tonse Alliance) used FDD in (Chawama), how is it that people can easily go and settle for any ka (small) party which is introduced as long as we say okay this is PF backed? It just shows you that the people are resolved to remove them from power. And we lost narrowly in Kawambwa and all those other elections. NCP was coming second but today, you can see that the people are resolved. FDD had never won an election. They were coming from the tail but today, the FDD has won an election. What does that entail? People are resolved, they are just waiting to be told, ‘this way,’ and even if it takes a week to inform them to say this is the road that [will] be taken, UPND is gone,” she said.

“How many days did it take for them (PF) to introduce NCP? NCP had the most difficult symbol ever, a [chair] but the people of Petauke were able to vote on a [chair] meaning that people are just looking for a way out, they are tired of how they have been treated. And now, here is FDD after NCP did its nuisance, people are following. Here, what did NCP come out with? Just because the PF backed FDD, it won. So meaning that the people are ready to put in anything. You know when they were saying that after the death of ECL and how his family has been treated, just tell us anything, give us direction even if it was just a cup, they would have gone for it. So, it is an opportunity for us as opposition to unite. In the actual fact, this is why we shouldn’t even be fighting against ourselves. We should have just united and ensured that we remove the UPND because the ground is ready”.

Meanwhile, Nyirenda said the UPND’s loss in the Chawama by-election was a sign that people were not happy with them.

“They (UPND) should know that [their loss in Chawama by-elections] is a signal that people are not happy with them, that’s all. The general election in fact is what will show them the real picture. The general election, there won’t be anyone slaughtering cows for whoever, it will be just one on one, the aspiring and whoever. Only aspiring candidates will be there. So, there won’t be like support, we get money from here, we are buying cattle. They will get worse results actually. We are yet to see the actual results during the general elections because everyone will be running for their lives, so wait and see,” said Nyirenda.

KBF THREATENS TO QUIT TONSE ALLIANCE

KBF THREATENS TO QUIT TONSE ALLIANCE

By: Thomas Afroman Mwale

The opposition Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP) has threatened to withdraw from the Tonse Alliance on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, if the alliance fails to clearly outline the electoral process and criteria for admitting members from the Patriotic Front (PF) into the Edgar Lungu Political Movement ahead of its highly anticipated elective congress.

Speaking at a media briefing, ZMP Party President Kelvin Bwalya Fube expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of transparency and organizational order, particularly in the admission of new members into the alliance’s Council of Leaders following the expulsion of the Patriotic Front from the alliance.

Mr. Fube criticized what he termed as favoritism toward the Edgar Lungu PF movement, questioning how a pressure group could be allowed to field a candidate at the Tonse Alliance elections with 21 members, while fully registered political parties have reportedly been advised to present about 12 members at the upcoming congress.

He further questioned the authority of former Special Adviser to former President Edgar Lungu, Dr. Chris Zumani Zimba, to admit PF members back into the alliance without a clear roadmap, stating that such a process is neither provided for in the alliance constitution nor formally adopted by its structures.

Mr. Fube warned that failure to address the concerns raised would leave ZMP with no option but to pull out of the Tonse Alliance on Friday, January 23rd, 2026.

AMB. FRANK MUTUBILA WEIGHS-IN ON ABSENCE OF PRESIDENT HICHILEMA

AMB. FRANK MUTUBILA WEIGHS-IN ON ABSENCE OF PRESIDENT HICHILEMA

THE President’s absence from the centre of governance has once again reignited an important national debate on how such periods should be managed and communicated to the public.

Having had the privilege of working closely with all seven Presidents in my capacity as a media professional, I find it difficult to understand why this matter continues to generate uncertainty. Like any other individual, the President is entitled to private time, which is appropriately managed by those responsible for his schedule. However, the President is also the nation’s foremost public figure, the heartbeat of governance. When the President sneezes, the country sneezes.

For this reason, the public deserves regular, accurate and consistent updates on the President’s whereabouts and general well being, including his health where appropriate. Visibility is essential, not as a courtesy but as a necessity of leadership. In the absence of information, speculation thrives, some of it serious and potentially destabilising, others cheap and irresponsible.

It is within this context that the intervention by PS Kawana must be understood. His response was commendable and timely. However, it also exposes a deeper institutional concern, who is the real Chief Government Spokesperson. When multiple voices step into that role, especially during sensitive moments, institutional lines become blurred and public confidence is weakened.

Did it really have to take a live on air phone call to the President to reassure the nation. Such an approach inevitably raises further questions, was the call pre arranged, and what would have happened had the President not responded. This is not how presidential communication should be handled.

From my experience, whether the President is on duty or on holiday, the media should provide structured and predictable updates. This is not unprecedented. During my time covering President Kenneth Kaunda, including his holidays, mostly at Kasaba Bay, the media remained present, visible and informative.

Ultimately, this is not a complex challenge. It is simply a matter of proper communication, institutional clarity and professional discipline in the management of the presidency.

ECZ CLEARS FDD’S BRIGHT NUNDWE: “HE WAS DULY NOMINATED FOR CHAWAMA”

ECZ CLEARS FDD’S BRIGHT NUNDWE: “HE WAS DULY NOMINATED FOR CHAWAMA”

THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says newly elected Chawama FDD MP Bright Nundwe was duly nominated for the by-election.

ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro says Article 70(1)(c) of the Constitution only requires a candidate contesting a parliamentary election to be a registered voter and does not specify that the candidate must be registered in the constituency they are contesting.

In a video circulating online, UPND Chawama losing candidate Morgan Muunda said Nundwe’s nomination should have been rescinded as he was not a registered voter in the constituency.

“I’m the eligible candidate and I’m the winner of the Chawama parliamentary election and on 15 February, with the people of Chawama, we are going to Parliament…

INVESTIGATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE KILLING OF RONALD PENZA

INVESTIGATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE KILLING OF RONALD PENZA
Ronald Penza was one of the most powerful and consequential figures in Zambia’s post-1991 political economy. Born in 1949 in Mbala in Northern Province, Penza rose rapidly after the reintroduction of multiparty politics. In the 1991 parliamentary elections, he stood on the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) ticket and won the Munali constituency with an overwhelming 82 percent of the vote, defeating Rupiah Banda. This decisive victory immediately marked him as a major political force within the new ruling party.

Following Frederick Chiluba’s election as President in 1991, Penza was appointed Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, and in 1993 he was promoted to the critical position of Minister of Finance. In these roles, he became a central architect of Zambia’s economic transformation. Penza was largely responsible for dismantling the socialist, state-controlled economic policies that had defined the Kenneth Kaunda era and replacing them with aggressive market-oriented reforms.

He oversaw one of the most radical privatization programmes on the African continent, including the controversial dismantling and privatization of Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM), the backbone of the national economy.

His influence extended beyond Zambia, and in 1994 he was nominated by the financial magazine Euromoney as the second-best finance minister in the world, an extraordinary recognition that reflected his standing with international financial institutions and donors.

This same record, however, also made Penza politically dangerous. Privatization, especially of ZCCM, created enormous winners and losers and involved vast sums of money, strategic assets, and opaque negotiations.

As Finance Minister, Penza had intimate knowledge of these transactions, donor conditions, and internal government disagreements. By March 1998, after an obscure and poorly explained falling-out with President Chiluba, Penza was dismissed from office.

His removal left him politically exposed but still in possession of sensitive information. In a system where loyalty was prized over independence, a former finance minister with insider knowledge and a reputation for defiance posed a serious threat to entrenched interests.

Penza’s killing on 6 November 1998 must be understood against this background. In the early hours of that Friday morning, his Lusaka home was attacked by a well-coordinated group of assailants.

According to accounts, six men were involved in the operation. Two masked gunmen entered the house after the attackers had overpowered Penza’s security personnel and neutralised his guard dogs, suggesting prior planning and reconnaissance rather than a spontaneous crime.

Penza was shot dead in front of his wife inside his own home. The attackers appeared focused and efficient, and there was no indication of a chaotic or random assault spreading throughout the household.

The official explanation offered by the authorities was that Penza was killed during a robbery. This narrative immediately raised doubts. Despite the violent break-in, no significant property was reported stolen.

In a country where armed robberies are typically motivated by theft, the failure to remove valuables strongly undermined the credibility of the robbery claim. The scale of the operation, involving multiple attackers, neutralised security, and a direct killing of the homeowner, looked excessive for a simple burglary and more consistent with a targeted assassination.

What followed the murder further compromised the search for truth. Within days, police announced that several suspects allegedly linked to the killing had been tracked down and shot dead while resisting arrest.

The deaths of these suspects ensured that there would be no trials, no sworn testimony, and no opportunity for independent scrutiny of the evidence.

Human rights organisations later raised serious concerns that these killings amounted to extrajudicial executions, effectively silencing those who might have revealed who planned the attack and why.

The political context surrounding Penza’s death deepened suspicion. He had recently been sacked from government, had known disagreements with the presidency, and was widely believed to possess damaging information about corruption, privatization deals, and internal power struggles within the ruling elite.

His background as an accountant, businessman, and former owner of an office equipment supply company, Rank Xerox, further reinforced perceptions that he understood financial systems in ways that could embarrass or threaten powerful figures. His death conveniently removed a knowledgeable and potentially destabilising actor from the political landscape.

Equally troubling was the conduct of state institutions after the assassination. There was no independent public inquiry, no transparent inquest that fully examined how the attackers breached security, and no sustained effort to rebuild the case after the suspects were killed. The apparent urgency to close the matter created a lasting impression of either institutional collapse or deliberate concealment.

More than two decades later, Ronald Penza’s murder remains unresolved not because the truth was impossible to uncover, but because the investigative process was fatally compromised. Whether through political pressure, fear, or calculated obstruction, the full story was never allowed to emerge. His death has come to symbolise the risks faced by reformist or independent political figures in systems where power is weakly checked.

In conclusion, while no court has definitively established who killed Ronald Penza or who ordered his death, the official explanation of a random robbery is deeply inadequate.

The coordinated break-in, the targeted nature of the killing, Penza’s political history, and the deeply flawed investigation that followed all point to a crime rooted in political conflict rather than ordinary criminality.

Until a credible and independent inquiry is conducted, Ronald Penza’s assassination will remain not only an unsolved murder, but a stark reminder of the cost of unaccountable power in Zambia’s political history.

IT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO CONSIDER SHUTTING DOWN THE INTERNET DURING VOTING COME AUGUST- Shipungu

IT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO CONSIDER SHUTTING DOWN THE INTERNET DURING VOTING COME AUGUST- Particularly, looking at the Chawama case: spreading falsehood on social media about a poling station which never existed, indirectly disadvantaged the candidate standing on the ruling party (UPND) as the claims interfered with the voting process.

As netizens, we have to understand that for free and fair elections to be achieved the opposition must equally play a part. That said, even the opposition can make elections less free and unfair.

My submission is that, let’s consider shutting shutdown the internet from 5am to 6pm during voting day to allow free and fair elections and avoid unnecessary unrests.

Currently, lawlessness by opposition leaders is merely a campaign strategy. For example, Miles Sampa knew the consequences of what he posted on his socials but he deliberately did so: to influence the voting pattern in CHAWAMA (knowing that most people are now ever on the internet) and subsequently, for attention which he has lost over the years.

Miles influenced an emotional vote in Chawama, on the voting day.

Away from that,
Makebi Zulu too knew he needed to notify the police, but he embarrassed the law enforcers who followed his unlawful gathering at his residence. The thing is that these politicians they know the law, but wants relevance.

Imagine a fight starts among supporters and it results into death because law enforcers weren’t there to ensure order? Imagine, supporters from another party came to interfere with their gathering?

Kasonde on the other hand has tried so hard to get himself arrested, but the long arm keeps on ignoring him. Many pages of the opposition are currently spreading a story about HH being sick and that what’s being posted on his page are AI generated, pages like for Lillian Mtambo, the PF official page etc, and these are checks and balances available currently. Nonetheless, the worst HH could do is cutting off his holiday to prove that he’s not sick.

The opposition are trying so hard to condition the president so that he responds to their propagandas. They want relevance, which can only come through exchange of words-which they are very good at.

Regardless, the problem with misinformation is that whenever they are not rubbished, they become the only truth available. So, should the president be responding to every Jim and Jack? No, that’s the duty of the party’s media team and the Ministry of information.

Anyway, what’s your suggestions about shutting down the internet on the voting day (from 5-18hrs)?

POLICE BLOCK MAKEBI ZULU’S VISIT TO MPEZENI

POLICE BLOCK MAKEBI ZULU’S VISIT TO MPEZENI

Police in Chipata, Eastern Province, have blocked PF presidential hopeful Makebi Zulu and his delegation from proceeding to visit Paramount Chief Mpezeni.

Makebi Zulu and his team were scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the traditional leader when they were abruptly stopped by police officers who claimed that Paramount Chief Mpezeni was not expecting them.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, an unidentified female police officer approached one of the vehicles in the convoy and informed the delegation that police had received information about their intended visit.

She further stated that the chief was reportedly unavailable to meet the group, prompting police intervention to halt the delegation from continuing with the journey.

The incident has since attracted public attention, with questions being raised regarding the circumstances surrounding the police action.

Meanwhile, Paramount Chief Mpezeni’s house has been surrounded by police in a bid to stop 2026 Presidential candidate Makebi Zulu from meeting the paramount chief

Eastern Province Commissioner of Police Roberson Mweemba is yet to comment on the matter.

More details to follow.

God Raises the Lowly: The Political Journey of Brian Mundubile

God Raises the Lowly: The Political Journey of Brian Mundubile

By Langson Phiri

History repeatedly teaches one powerful lesson: those who are fiercely opposed, unfairly fought, and prematurely written off often return stronger. In politics, resistance can either destroy a leader or quietly prepare them for higher responsibility. The story of Brian Mundubile firmly belongs to the latter.

From the time President Edgar Chagwa Lungu was still alive, Brian Mundubile found himself under sustained attack from within his own party, the Patriotic Front (PF). This was not pressure from the opposition; it was an internal struggle. Some senior party members viewed him with suspicion and discomfort. His ideas, growing influence, and expanding support base were perceived as a threat rather than a contribution to party unity.

As time went on, the resistance intensified. Individuals associated with him real or perceived supporters were systematically sidelined. Many were expelled from the PF, including members of the Central Committee. Party structures that were meant to protect internal democracy were instead used to silence alternative voices.

The objective was clear: isolate him, weaken his base, and suffocate his political momentum before it could fully take shape.

Alongside expulsions came deliberate ill-will. Negative narratives were pushed to damage his image. Some openly wished him political failure, irrelevance, and collapse. Instead of dialogue, there was punishment. Instead of engagement, exclusion. Yet history has never been kind to those who believe that bad wishes can stop destiny. More often, they accelerate it.

What many failed to understand is that political popularity is not always built through comfort and endorsement. Sometimes it is built through suffering, exclusion, and endurance. Every attack on Brian Mundubile amplified his name. Every attempt to erase him made people ask deeper questions. Every injustice against his allies strengthened public sympathy and curiosity.

Leadership is forged in fire. Being fought from within taught him resilience, patience, and strategic discipline. It exposed the dangers of politics driven by fear instead of vision. While others were busy trying to block him, he was being shaped—learning the cost of leadership, the meaning of loyalty, and the value of standing firm under pressure.

The saying remains true: God raises the lowly. When human systems unfairly push someone down, public conscience often lifts them up. The same hands that tried to bury him only planted a seed.

In the end, the paradox is unavoidable: the more you fight him, the more you make him popular. Opposition gave him visibility. Expulsions gave him credibility. Hatred gave him relevance. Resistance gave him momentum.

Political history is full of surprises, but it is rarely kind to those who underestimate perseverance. Brian Mundubile’s journey is a reminder that destiny cannot be expelled from a committee, voted out of a room, or destroyed by bad wishes. Sometimes, the very struggle meant to end a man is what prepares him to lead.

The fact remains: Brian Mundubile’s rise has already been written in the minds of many Zambians. Even in the face of resistance and loss, the people have made up their minds. God raises the lowly—and history is watching.

How UPND is Reading the Chawama Loss and Recalibrating for August

⬆️ THE DETAIL | How UPND is Reading the Chawama Loss and Recalibrating for August

The United Party for National Development is treating its Chawama by-election loss as a stress test rather than a political collapse, using the outcome to interrogate how the ruling party competes in urban Zambia ahead of 2026.

Speaking on Diamond TV, UPND National Youth Chairman Gilbert Liswaniso describes Chawama as a “pilot project” for Lusaka and Copperbelt constituencies, arguing that incumbency does not automatically translate into votes in densely populated urban areas.

The numbers underpin his argument. Chawama has more than 92,000 registered voters and 111 polling stations. Fewer than 20,000 voters turn out. The opposition alliance, running on the Forum for Democracy and Development ticket but backed by Patriotic Front structures, secures just over 8,000 votes. UPND polls slightly above 6,500. The gap is roughly 1,500 votes. Liswaniso insists the real story is not the margin but the silence of nearly 80,000 registered voters who stay away.

“That is where the election is,” he says. “If you are in government and people do not come out to vote, that is the problem you must confront.”

Liswaniso rejects the idea that the loss reflects rejection of President Hakainde Hichilema. He argues the party must learn to win elections without relying on presidential visibility. “The President cannot be everywhere,” he says. “Party soldiers must carry elections on the ground.”

Operational detail dominates his postmortem. Chawama’s 111 polling stations break down into roughly 500 sections where what he calls “donkey work” happens. Messaging to marketeers, bar workers, and tenants matters more than high-profile visits. He dismisses roadshows as ineffective if they do not convert into votes. “Numbers come first,” he says. “Noise comes later.”

Liswaniso is unusually candid about internal failures. He speaks openly about frustration when ground advice is ignored by senior figures. “I drop tears when I see that what I advised is not followed,” he says.

“Then after losing, people start complaining.”

His sharpest criticism is directed inward. He accuses ministers and appointed officials of failing the party and, by extension, the President. “They are betraying the cause,” Liswaniso says. “Why are we in government if we are not protecting the power?” He argues that poor implementation, lack of consultation with party structures, and a focus on personal gain over political work are costing UPND credibility in urban communities.

The Chawama experience is now shaping UPND’s urban roadmap. Liswaniso names constituencies such as Kanyama, Matero, Mandevu, Munali, Lusaka Central, and Kabwata as priority battlegrounds. With just over 200 days to the general election and fewer than 100 days before Parliament is expected to dissolve, he frames Chawama as an early warning rather than a final verdict.

Opponents argue UPND lacks structures. Liswaniso disputes this, insisting the party fills every polling station structure and that the weakness lies in discipline and message consistency, not organisation.

What emerges from Chawama is a ruling party confronting a new political reality. Power has not eliminated the need for ground politics. Urban voters are harder to mobilise, less sentimental, and more likely to stay home than swing emotionally.

Liswaniso’s intervention suggests UPND now sees its greatest threat not in opposition rallies, but in internal complacency and voter disengagement. Whether this diagnosis produces recovery in 2026 remains the unresolved question.
