Zimbabwe has evacuated embassy staff from Iran

Zimbabwe has evacuated officials from its embassy in Tehran, Iran, to neighbouring Armenia as fighting intensifies following joint strikes by the United States and Israel, the presidency said.

Non-essential government staff in the wider Middle East and their families who wish to leave are also being flown back home.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesman George Charamba said Tuesday the decision followed a review of the deteriorating security situation in Iran.

“Following a review of the security situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has been jointly aggressed by the United States and Israel, Zimbabwe embassy staff in Tehran has been evacuated to neighbouring state of Armenia for safety,” Charamba said.

“Non-essential members of staff are being flown home. Similarly, Zimbabwe is in touch with all its missions in the Middle East to assess their security requirements and those of Zimbabweans in the region.”

The ministry of foreign affairs has also urged Zimbabwean citizens in the region to register with the nearest embassy and limit their movements in accordance with regulations issued by host governments.

The United States and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several senior officials in the first wave of strikes.

Iran has since responded by firing missiles at American military facilities in neighbouring countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, effectively closing much of the region’s airspace and grounding flights.

The disruption briefly stranded Zimbabwe national cricket team in India after their elimination from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, as their connecting flight had been scheduled to depart from Dubai in the UAE.

On Wednesday, Zimbabwe Cricket said the team had begun travelling home after making alternative arrangements.

Female Teacher Accused Of Molesting Boyfriend’s 16-Year-Old Relative Acquitted

US-Based Woman Acquitted After Court Hears Teen Made Advances Towards Her
A US-based woman accused of molesting her boyfriend’s 16-year-old relative has walked free from a Harare court after a judge ruled in her favour. The acquittal was handed down today, March 10, 2026, bringing a dramatic end to a case that has gripped the nation since the alleged incident in Glen View last year.

Zvikomborero Maria Makedenge (33) had been fighting the aggravated indecent assault charge since her arrest in August 2025. Magistrate Noel Mupeiwa delivered the not-guilty verdict, though full details of the court’s reasoning have not yet been released to the public.

Court Hears How Teen Made Advances Towards Accused
Throughout the trial, which began in December 2025 before regional magistrate Noel Mupeiwa, Makedenge, represented by lawyer Lenon Rwizi, pleaded not guilty and presented a detailed account of what she claims truly transpired that August morning. Her defence painted a picture of an innocent act of kindness that was twisted into a malicious prosecution by a family that never accepted her.

According to her testimony, the 16-year-old boy approached her first, not the other way around. She claimed he came to her complaining of severe flu and a headache, seeking help. The court heard how Makedenge, showing compassion, tended to the teenager’s needs.

“The complainant asked if the accused had any medication to ease his condition. The accused prepared a ginger drink and said she would look for paracetamol tablets,” Rwizi submitted to the court .

Makedenge told the court that after she provided him with the home remedy, the situation took a shocking turn—but one where she was the one fending off unwanted advances. She testified that the teenager made sexual advances towards her inside her room, which she firmly rejected and reprimanded him for. Her version of events painted a starkly different picture from the one initially presented by prosecutors.

Family Conspiracy Motive Revealed In Court
The defence then laid out a compelling motive for why the teenager would fabricate such serious allegations against her. Makedenge argued that the complainant made up the entire story out of fear that she would report his inappropriate behaviour to her boyfriend, who is closely related to the young man. This family connection, she told the court, placed her in a vulnerable position where the truth could easily be twisted against her.

She went further, alleging a deeper conspiracy at play involving members of her boyfriend’s family. The court heard claims that certain relatives had never accepted her as a suitable partner for their family member, and saw this as an opportunity to permanently remove her from the picture.

“She also alleged that her boyfriend’s family sought to frame her, as they had never accepted her as a prospective wife,” the court was told during proceedings .

Throughout the trial, due to the complainant’s age, the public gallery was cleared to allow the minor to testify in a protected environment.

The State had indicated that it would produce a medical affidavit as key evidence. Despite these measures, after months of legal proceedings, the court ultimately found in favour of the defence’s version of events.

Accused Walks Free After Months Of Legal Battle
Makedenge, the niece of retired Assistant Commissioner Crispen Makedenge, a former senior Zimbabwe Republic Police officer, had been living in the United States prior to her visit home. Her arrest in August 2025 and subsequent trial sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many calling for equal application of justice regardless of the gender of the accused.

Throughout the legal process, Makedenge maintained her innocence, insisting she was the victim of a family dispute rather than a sexual predator.

Elon Musk’s Simple Life: Mom Maye Musk Shares the Reality of Visiting Boca Chica

Even as the world’s richest man focuses on building rockets and reaching Mars, Elon Musk keeps his personal life stripped down to essentials. A recent photo of his modest home near SpaceX’s Starbase in Boca Chica, Texas, shows no extravagance—just the basics needed for living and working.

Maye Musk, his mother, responded with characteristic humor and resilience, highlighting how her tough upbringing prepared her for such visits.

“There is no food in the fridge. The garage where I slept is on the right. The shower only has one towel so I left it for Elon. That was okay with me. When I was a child, I’d spend three weeks in the Kalahari Desert without showering. Many times. There was no water. I think my parents prepared me for this luxury.🤣”

The anecdote underscores a core truth: priorities lie in mission over material comfort. Musk’s choice reflects discipline and focus—qualities that have driven his groundbreaking achievements in space and technology.

Iran’s Cluster Missile Barrage Lights Up Tel Aviv Sky

Iran’s Cluster Missile Barrage Lights Up Tel Aviv Sky

Bill Ackman just shared chilling raw security camera footage from central Israel showing dozens of bright missile trails streaking across the night sky over Tel Aviv.

The clip, originally posted by @MyLordBebo, captures what look like cluster munitions raining down during Iran’s latest retaliatory strike.

Iron Dome intercepts flash in the distance, but several projectiles appear to slip through, ending in explosions on the ground. Sirens blare as the 33-second video records the intense barrage in real time.

This comes on day 11 of the escalating US-Israel-Iran war. Iranian officials report over 1,300 civilian deaths from American and Israeli airstrikes, while Israeli sources confirm injuries and at least two fatalities in the Tel Aviv area from similar cluster-warhead attacks in recent days.

The conflict shows no sign of slowing, with fresh missile waves hitting Israel even as US strikes pound Tehran.

Fikile Mbalula Tells the U.S. Ambassador to “Go to Hell” and Warns That South Africa Will Never Allow America or Any Foreign Power to Dictate Its Foreign Policy and Decisions

ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has sent a strong message regarding South Africa’s sovereignty, saying the country will not allow any outside power to control or influence its international relations.

Mbalula stressed that while South Africa welcomes diplomats and global investors, the country’s policies will always be determined by South Africans and their elected government.

He also rejected claims that major global companies like Amazon, Google, Visa and Microsoft are planning to pull their investments from South Africa, calling those reports unfounded. According to him, international businesses continue to show confidence in the South African economy.

Mbalula further stated that South Africa remains open for business and supports a global system where nations cooperate through international law and institutions in a multipolar world.

Iranian Actress Elnaaz Norouzi Delivers Brutal Truth to Regime Apologists

Iranian Actress Elnaaz Norouzi Delivers Brutal Truth to Regime Apologists

In a no-holds-barred interview amid the fallout from the February 28, 2026, joint US-Israeli strike that eliminated Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Iranian-born actress Elnaaz Norouzi demolished the usual media script on civilian casualties.

When pressed about deaths from the strikes—including a widely reported incident where a school was hit—Norouzi refused to play the victim card for the Islamic Republic. Instead she fired back with the regime’s own bloody ledger: 47 years of mass executions, deliberate poisonings of schoolgirls, torture, rape of prisoners, and the slaughter of over 40,000 protesters during the 2022 uprising alone.

She made clear that many ordinary Iranians view the precision hits on IRGC targets and regime infrastructure not as tragedy but as long-overdue justice.

Norouzi expressed open excitement among freedom-seeking Iranians and voiced strong support for restoring Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to lead a return to secular, pre-1979 Iran.

The clip, originally retweeted by @dolphieness, has exploded online with tens of thousands of likes and reposts, proving once again that the loudest voices mourning the mullahs rarely come from inside Iran itself. The people who actually lived under Khamenei’s boot are cheering its end.

I AM INNOCENT, YOU WON’T FIND ANYTHING ON ME EVEN WITH MICROSCOPES – TONSE PRESIDENT BRIAN MUNDUBILE

I AM INNOCENT, YOU WON’T FIND ANYTHING ON ME EVEN WITH MICROSCOPES – TONSE PRESIDENT BRIAN MUNDUBILE.

Wednesday, 11 March 2026 (News Diggers)

TONSE Alliance president Brian Mundubile says the UPND government would have acted a long time ago if there had been any evidence of the theft allegations against him.

Mundubile adds that government can use microscopes, but it won’t find anything against him because he is innocent.

On Monday, Chief Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa wondered why investigative agencies were not pursuing Mundubile after allegations of theft from Chishimba Kambwili.

In the audio Mweetwa was referring to, Kambwili was heard talking to a man he called Kashishi, alleging that he had all the evidence against Mundubile’s theft and that if he exposed him, no one would like it.

Kambwili added that Mundubile was a “thief” who used to give himself invoices without working.

Reacting to this in an interview, Tuesday, Mundubile said the UPND government’s fear of the unknown should not be a reason to persecute citizens.

“If at all they had any evidence against me, they would have acted a long time ago. Five years, I have been leader of the opposition, critical of the government. I speak against HH every day that I am featured, if there was anything against me, they would have acted, it’s been five years. So, I don’t want to give them a reason for their lawlessness and lack of respect for constitutionalism and the rule of law. Their fear of the unknown should not be the reason that they should go out and try to persecute citizens. So, comrade Mweetwa is not fit to be a minister, he is not fit to be a minister. It’s incompetence of the worst order and it’s total lawlessness. And in any case, the minister should be sent back to go and read the cabinet handbook so that he understands his role as a minister,” he said.

“So, clearly what we have is a group of failures charged with the responsibility to run government. A government of cowards, a government of individuals who can’t face criticism, who fear the unknown. It’s total incompetence and lawlessness of the highest order. There is nothing they will find, they can come with microscopes, telescopes, I
only be innocent, that’s all”.

Mundubile questioned whether Kambwili provided evidence for Mweetwa to instruct the police to arrest him.

“The same Mweetwa who is now calling for Honourable Mundubile’s arrest is the same Mweetwa who was talking about mingalato a few days [ago]. So, when we talk about political persecution, he is the first one to refute those claims but he is just confirming it before the Zambian people. The last time I checked, Mweetwa was the Minister of Information, so what right has he got to start instructing the police, to victimise the police into arresting innocent citizens? If Honourable [Chishimba] Kambwili made some allegations, did he provide any evidence to support those allegations for Mweetwa now to instruct the police to arrest Honourable Mundubile? So, when we talk about a failed state, when we talk about a police state, when we talk about a government with collapsed government institutions, a collapse in governance, this is exactly what we are talking about because now we have ministers traversing other ministries to go and give instructions to ministries they are not in charge of,” said Mundubile.

“Mweetwa is not in charge of home affairs and internal security the last time I checked, but he can leave his cabinet portfolio to go interfere with operations of another institution. In any case, this is not up to the ministers or indeed the President to give instructions, it’s law enforcement agencies who arrest citizens. The police will act professionally on evidence. If there is a reason to arrest the affected individual, they will do so without being told. So, what Mweetwa is doing is just a confirmation of what many citizens have feared”.

Meanwhile, commenting on the same matter, former home affairs minister Stephen Kampyongo said it was not in Mweetwa’s place to call for the arrest of Mundubile.

“It’s totally out of his place [to suggest Mundubile’s arrest] but that can only happen in a cabinet which is like an organised confusion, because what we’ve been seeing in this cabinet is organised confusion. That is out of his portfolio and indeed if what Honourable Kambwili was alleging had any elements of truth, he should have taken him to the law enforcement agencies and it was not going to be the minister to say ‘now you move because now we are scared of this man politically, move and arrest.’ So, it is out of his place. So, it goes back to the mingalatos he was saying, ‘no we are going to do mingalatos,’ but he should know that dribbling also has markers who can mark. Let him focus on campaigning for himself and his boss, just like we are all going to do,” he said.

“Like I said, he shouldn’t be over-excited with the two portfolios he is handling now. And most importantly, LEAs have procedures and five years down the line that’s when you can call them to start arresting a man who has been around all this time just because we are going into elections and he has declared intentions of participating in an election as a presidential candidate. It’s out of fear”.

Kampyongo urged Mweetwa to focus on campaigning for President Hakainde Hichilema, adding that he shouldn’t think he can abuse other politicians.

“We understand that our colleague, Honourable Cornelius Mweetwa, is now overwhelmed and he is now getting excited because just before the Parliament is dissolved and he becomes a former minister like me, he has got two portfolios. So now he is so excited and I think he is so scared that just in two months he will become a former minister. He wants to go into those mingalatos he has been saying, but we are ready for him not to dribble us this time. Even mingalato have defenders, so for him to start using and abusing Honourable Kambwili and Honourable Brian Mundubile in the manner that is suggestive, it won’t help him. Remember how he came to the public and said Kambwili was sent by him and a few others to go and make tribal remarks which then they followed and arrested him (Kambwili)? What sort of individuals are these who want to think they can abuse their fellow politicians?” wondered Kampyongo.

“It’s not long ago when he was confessing to the whole country that he was part of mingalato to set Kambwili to make public sentiments and accusations against the former head of state president Edgar Lungu, so let him not waste time, let him focus on campaigning because he is now going to join [former ministers]. I want to start orientating him on what it takes to become a former minister. I am ready to give him those free orientation tips”.

EDITORIAL | Opposition Unity Alone Will Not Defeat Hichilema

🇿🇲 EDITORIAL | Opposition Unity Alone Will Not Defeat Hichilema

As we moves steadily toward the 2026 general election, a difficult truth continues to stare the opposition in the face. President Hakainde Hichilema remains in a stronger political position than many of his critics would like to admit. Social media noise does not change electoral mathematics. Angry Facebook posts and circulating WhatsApp voice notes may energise supporters, but elections are decided through organisation, strategy and numbers.

A convenient explanation has therefore emerged within opposition circles. It is repeated so frequently it now passes for political wisdom: if only the opposition united, Hichilema would lose. This idea has become a comforting myth for those who would rather complain than confront deeper weaknesses in their own political approach.

But unity alone has never guaranteed victory. Zambia’s own political history offers evidence. During the 2021 general election, several parties contested the race separately. They did not merge into a single political vehicle. But Hichilema defeated the incumbent by a wide margin. The same pattern appears elsewhere in the region. Elections are not won through emotional alliances but through disciplined strategy, compelling messaging and a clear understanding of voter behaviour.

Unfortunately, strategy is precisely what the opposition appears to lack. Their campaign message today can be reduced to a single slogan: “Mulinjala muchalo,” there is hunger in the country. Yes, many citizens are struggling economically. This reality cannot be denied. But assuming that hardship automatically translates into votes is not political strategy. It is wishful thinking dressed up as analysis.

The electorate eventually asks a simple question: if the incumbent is to be removed, who exactly replaces him? Which opposition leader today has crafted a message capable of inspiring the country? Which party has built the machinery necessary to convert frustration into votes? At the moment, convincing answers remain difficult to find.

Even if opposition politicians squeezed themselves into one giant alliance tomorrow, the fundamental problem would remain unchanged. The challenge is not merely fragmentation. It is the absence of ideas. Politics cannot be built on complaints alone. Adding zero to zero still produces zero.

While critics spend their energy attacking, President Hichilema has been focusing on something far more consequential: understanding the electorate. Politics ultimately comes down to arithmetic. Every campaign begins with the voter register. The President appears to recognise that Zambia’s fastest-growing electoral bloc is Generation Z, young voters entering the political system for the first time.

These voters consume politics differently. They live online. They respond to cultural cues, humour and digital language rather than traditional political speeches. Messaging aimed at this group increasingly travels through music, memes and social media trends. The slogan “Salt Sana” did not appear by accident. It is designed to move quickly through youth culture, spreading organically through platforms where younger voters spend their time.

Meanwhile, much of the opposition remains stuck in a political style that belongs to another era. Press briefings filled with anger, microphones pointed at half-empty rooms and endless denunciations rarely build the kind of momentum required to win elections.

Even more puzzling is the opposition’s failure to mobilise voter blocs that could realistically challenge the ruling party. Consider those who supported the promise “Bally Will Fix It” in 2021. Some of those voters feel hesitant today. They represent a ready-made constituency for any opposition capable of organising them through credible leadership and disciplined messaging. Yet little effort appears to have been made to build a coherent political home for these voters.

Another group exists among older voters who historically never trusted Hichilema in the first place. With careful coalition building and strategic outreach, this bloc could influence electoral dynamics. Instead of mobilising such constituencies, opposition politicians frequently spend their time fighting one another, weakening their own credibility in the process.

The uncomfortable truth is that elections are not won through anger alone. They are won through political intelligence. At present, the ruling party appears to be consolidating two important pillars simultaneously: its existing support base and a growing wave of younger voters entering the electorate.

If the opposition continues along its current path: divided, reactive and intellectually unprepared, the next election may not simply result in defeat. It could become a political demolition. And when the results are eventually announced, many of the same voices shouting today will likely claim surprise and rigging.

But the warning signs are already visible.

President Hichilema appears to be studying the chessboard carefully. The opposition, by contrast, still seems to be arguing about where the chessboard is.

UPND PANICKING OVER MUNDUBILE’S RISING POPULARITYMweetwa’s Attack on Mundubile driven by fear, not facts – FDD

UPND PANICKING OVER MUNDUBILE’S RISING POPULARITY – FDD

…Says Mweetwa’s Attack on Mundubile driven by fear, not facts.

Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Fellow Zambians, as an opposition political party, the Forum For Democracy and Development ( FDD) wishes to state that, “it is an act of cowardice and real fear” by the UPND government administration for them to start inciting state agencies to target innocent citizens whom they perceive are telling the Zambians the truth.

As FDD, we want to tell the honorable minister of information, Hon Cornelius Mweetwa that his call to target Tonse Alliance President, Brian Mundubile is made out in bad faith and out of fear for Mundubiles growing popularity. And it’s folly that the honorable minister of information is trying to rewrite the same script which Zambians have seen before when the PF accused President Hichilema of crimes which were purportedly committed during privatization.

The question which Hon Mweetwa should ask and answer himself is, ” why did the UPND not arrest President Mundubile in the 4 years 7 months they have been in government and why now? Is it that UPND is running an inept regime which is sleeping and only wakes up when a noisy citizen makes an unfounded and misconceived noise?  This is what Mr Mweetwa should tell us.

Fellow Zambians, we the people of Zambia should not be fooled by our colleagues in the UPND. Hon Mweetwa must realise that President Brian Mundubile does not have two lives. We the people of Zambia know pretty well that a corporate body such as a company is a legal person distinct from its participants. As FDD, we don’t want to question the competence of the minister of information who is a lawyer . But it is surprising that a lawyer can be tempted to issue such a statement for political expedience and out of fear for President Brian Mundubile.

UPND is now a devil to our democracy and they are out there seeking for someone to devour. But one thing must be made clear, The TONSE Alliance leadership is fully prepared for any criminal activities of the UPND ( Imigalato) and such will be met with the Newton Third Law of Motion.

As FDD, we are fully aware that plans have been hatched and continue to be hatched by our colleagues to target those potential contenders such as President Brian Mundubile. And it is good that these plans are now being exposed through such confession by the hon minister of information.

Therefore, as FDD we urge all zambians to reject this UPND cheap propaganda against a citizen who as offered himself to lead the country against the tribalism and division which the UPND has inflicted on our nation.

GIVEN LUBINDA ALLIANCE TO LAUNCH “TIYENDE PAMODZI ALLIANCE” AHEAD OF 2026 GENERAL ELECTION

GIVEN LUBINDA ALLIANCE TO LAUNCH “TIYENDE PAMODZI ALLIANCE” AHEAD OF 2026 GENERAL ELECTION

As the Given Lubinda PF Faction prepares to hold its General Conference, sources have disclosed that the Faction is resolved to field a Presidential candidate away from Tonse, which it views as having been hijacked by the Brian Mundubile Group under the direction of Dr. Chris Zumani Zimba and Mr. Davies Mwila, Former Political Advisor to ECL and former Secretary General of PF. .

In short, the Given PF faction is weighing options of forming an alternative Alliance to be known as “Tiyende Pamodzi”. The candidate who will be elected as the Presidential candidate will be expected to lead the Alliance into the 2026 Polls.

It, however, remains to be seen whether the Alliance will enjoy any meaningful following considering that PF members are in a state of confusion on who to support as Presidential candidate.

Dear Sir,

RE: OFFICE BEARERS TENURE – UPND PARTY

The above caption pertains to the matter at hand.

For your information, my attached correspondence addressed to Ms. Gertrude Imenda of the United Party for National Development (UPND) is provided to note my interest.

It is my position that, due to effluxion of time, the term of office for His Excellency, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, as the party president of the UPND, expired along with the entire National Management Committee of the UPND. This term lapsed on Friday, February 13, 2026, in accordance with Articles 56 and 75 of the party constitution.

Consequently, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zambia, together with the other registered party office bearers, may be subject to penalty fines.

If it were not for the immunities ordained on such a high office under the law, the witnessed shortcomings of the known individuals would be considered not only as being glossly negligent but also notably, in an election year, as intentional sabotage.

The caginess of the party Secretariate and the operational failure of the respective party’s portfolio committees may lead to a constitutional paralysis within the organisation.

The current situation in the party is highly concerning and warrants immediate action.

Therefore, pursuant to Article 8(a) of the party’s constitution, having considered the overall welfare and the lawful continuity of our club, by this communication, His Excellency the President is notified of my intent to intervene in terms of Article 60(2)(f) of the Republican constitution.

I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

PF Power Battle Intensifies: N’gona Rushes to Court of Appeal as Chabinga Camp Stands Firm

PF Power Battle Intensifies: N’gona Rushes to Court of Appeal as Chabinga Camp Stands Firm

The political battle for control of the Patriotic Front has taken another dramatic turn after party Secretary General Morgan N’gona swiftly moved to challenge a controversial High Court ruling that appeared to favor Miles Sampa.

The ruling, delivered by High Court Judge Chinyanwa C. Zulu in Lusaka, declared that Sampa was within his rights to dismiss N’gona and remove him from his position. The judgment also backed Sampa’s earlier decision to remove Robert Chabinga as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament.

But the Chabinga–N’gona camp wasted no time firing back.

No sooner had the ruling landed on his desk than N’gona stormed to the Court of Appeal, filing an urgent appeal to overturn the decision. At the same time, he submitted an application requesting the court to stay the High Court judgment, arguing that his appeal stands a very strong chance of success.

The Chabinga and N’gona camp insist that the ruling changes nothing on the ground. According to them, the legal battle is far from over and the matter now rests squarely in the hands of the Court of Appeal.

They maintain that the legitimate leadership of the Patriotic Front remains firmly with President Robert Chabinga, who continues to serve as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, while Morgan N’gona remains the party’s Secretary General.

Meanwhile, the Kabwe High Court injunction—a key legal pillar in the dispute—remains firmly in place, reinforcing the authority of the Chabinga-led faction.

Most crucially, insiders emphasize that Robert Chabinga still holds the Patriotic Front’s “Lugwalo,” the symbolic and legal instrument of party authority—further strengthening claims that the real PF remains under the leadership of Chabinga and N’gona, not the faction led by Miles Sampa, Given Lubinda, Emmanuel Mwamba and them.

As the legal drama now shifts to the Court of Appeal, the battle for the soul of the Patriotic Front is entering a new and decisive chapter.

SIMPLE SUMMARY OF THE COURT RULING ON PF

SIMPLE SUMMARY OF THE COURT RULING ON PF
This ruling from the High Court for Zambia focuses on procedural discipline rather than the underlying political dispute. The court did not determine who was right or wrong in the Patriotic Front (PF) leadership conflict; instead, it addressed whether the case should continue given the plaintiff’s failure to follow court procedures.

THE CORE ISSUE OF THE CASE
The case involved:
Plaintiff: Morgan Ng’ona (suing as Secretary General and member of the Patriotic Front)
Defendant: Miles Bwalya Sampa
Ng’ona sought a court declaration that Sampa illegally dissolved the PF central committee and acted without authority. However, the court never reached a decision on these political issues.

WHY THE CASE WAS DISMISSED
The case was dismissed because the plaintiff failed to actively pursue the matter. Under the High Court Rules, parties must follow Orders for Directions—specific instructions from the judge to prepare for trial.

Key procedural failures included:
Failure to file a defense to the defendant’s counter-claim.
Non-compliance with court orders issued on 26 March 2025.
Taking no meaningful action for nearly four months.
Failing to apply for an extension or a variation of the court order.

The judge concluded that this behavior demonstrated a lack of diligence and a disregard for the court’s authority.

LEGAL PRINCIPLES APPLIED
The court relied on precedents such as Hu Herong & Luo Feng v Kapotwe & Kawa and Muvi TV Limited v Makandani Banda, which allow dismissal when:
The delay is intentional or shows disregard for court orders.
The delay is inordinate and inexcusable.
The delay risks prejudice or an unfair trial.

The judge described the plaintiff’s conduct as “intentional and contumelious” (deliberate disregard of authority) and invoked the legal maxim:

“Vigilantibus non dormientibus jura subveniunt.”

(The law helps those who are vigilant, not those who sleep on their rights.)

DISMISSAL OF CLAIM AND COUNTER-CLAIM
Notably, the court dismissed both sides of the case:
Ng’ona’s main claim against Sampa was dismissed.
Sampa’s counter-claim was also dismissed.
The court chose to terminate the entire matter because it had stalled, rather than keeping it alive indefinitely.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF DELAY
The judge emphasized that because the case involved the leadership of a major political party, it carried significant public interest. Delays in such matters can affect political stability; therefore, the court expected a higher degree of urgency and efficiency from the plaintiff.

WHAT “DISMISSED FOR WANT OF PROSECUTION” MEANS
This is a procedural termination. It means:
The person who started the case failed to pursue it.
The court ended the case without deciding on the merits (the facts/evidence).

It is different from “winning” or “losing” based on evidence; the case simply died due to procedural failure.

LEGAL CONSEQUENCES & POLITICAL IMPLICATION
The Case is Closed: The matter is terminated in the High Court.

Costs: Each party bears its own legal costs.

Right to Appeal: The judge granted “leave to appeal,” meaning the plaintiff can challenge this ruling in the Court of Appeal of Zambia.

Political Reality: The ruling does not confirm that Sampa’s actions were legal. It only states that the court cannot hear the case due to the plaintiff’s procedural failures. The core dispute remains legally unresolved on its merits.

SIMPLE SUMMARY
In short: Morgan Ng’ona sued Miles Sampa over PF leadership. The court gave instructions on how to proceed, but Ng’ona failed to follow them. Consequently, the judge dismissed the entire matter for “want of prosecution” without deciding who is the rightful leader of the party.

The Zambian Times will soon post a series of detailed analysis posts.

“Reject Former PF Leaders at the Ballot” — Sean Tembo Warns Voters Ahead of August Elections

“Reject Former PF Leaders at the Ballot” — Sean Tembo Warns Voters Ahead of August Elections

Sean Tembo, president of the Patriots for Economic Progress (PEP) and a former ally of the Patriotic Front (PF), has issued a blunt warning to Zambians ahead of the upcoming August elections: do not vote for any presidential candidate who once held a senior position in the former ruling party.

In a strongly worded statement, Tembo said the country must never return to what he described as the impunity, abuse of state institutions, and lawlessness that characterized the PF era.

“Anyone who served in a senior role under the PF regime is unqualified to promise good governance today—if we are truly serious about building a better Zambia,” Tembo declared.

He argued that many of the governance problems the country still experiences today were “borrowed directly from the PF handbook.”

Recalling the dramatic political shift in 2021 Zambian general election, Tembo warned that voters must remain vigilant.

“We all remember 2021. The Zambian people replaced a bad PF government with the United Party for National Development (UPND) government. That mistake can happen again if we are not careful,” he cautioned.

Tembo urged voters to scrutinize presidential candidates beyond campaign rhetoric, emphasizing the importance of track record, personal values, and demonstrated solutions.

https://youtu.be/7ckOsVKIZ9Y?si=SlLqFdE3SCkfVJ4g

“Before supporting any candidate, voters must ask: what alternative solutions has this person offered to national problems over the past four and a half years? Are those solutions documented and credible, or is the candidate merely condemning others without offering real answers?”

He further stressed that character and life history matter in leadership, warning that opportunistic politicians cannot simply reinvent themselves during election season.

“Values and principles are not something you wear like a jacket depending on the occasion. Someone who has spent their life putting their own pockets first will not suddenly start caring about the people just because they become president,” Tembo said..

The PEP leader also underscored the immense influence of the presidency, arguing that the office requires competence, vision, and focus.

“A president becomes the alpha and omega of government. Ministers and senior officials often avoid contradicting them for fear of being labeled disloyal. That means assembling a competent team is meaningless if the president himself lacks basic competence, vision, and focus,” Tembo explained.

According to Tembo, the ideal presidential candidate should have proven achievements outside politics.

“An ideal candidate must have built something sustainable in their personal life—demonstrating success through hard work and innovation, not merely relying on government or political connections.”

He concluded with a stark warning to voters: “The future is set. Be careful, choose wisely, and do not repeat the mistakes of 2021.”

COURT DISMISSES MORGAN NGONA CASE FOR WANT OF PROSECUTION

BREAKING NEWS: COURT DISMISSES MORGAN NGONA CASE FOR WANT OF PROSECUTION

Lusaka, Zambia – 10 March 2026

The High Court has dismissed the main matter filed by Morgan Ngona against Miles Sampa, ruling that the case lacked prosecution after remaining unresolved for an extended period.

In a ruling delivered by Judge C.C. Zulu, the court dismissed the entire application brought by Ngona for “want of prosecution.”

The case had challenged the decision by Miles Sampa,in his capacity as President of the Patriotic Front (PF), to remove Ngona from the position of Secretary General.

The court’s decision effectively means that the challenge against the decision was not sustained, leaving the earlier action by Sampa to remove Ngona as Secretary General standing.

Following the ruling, Ngona and his associates have reportedly filed an application seeking to *stay the same ruling pending an appeal to the Court of Appeal.*  The application seeks to temporarily halt the effect of the judgment while the appellate process is pursued.

Observers note that the matter has remained before the courts for nearly three years without substantive prosecution of the main claim.

Legal interpretations of the ruling further suggest that the Kabwe injunction, which was previously linked to the dispute, may now have limited relevance given the dismissal of the main case in which Ngona sought to assert his position as Secretary General.

The development could potentially allow the party to move forward with internal processes, including discussions around holding a party convention, which Miles Sampa has previously indicated he would be willing to facilitate in pursuit of consensus within the party.

DP President Judith Kabemba has endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema for the August 13 elections

Democratic Party Endorses President Hichilema for 2026 Election

The Democratic Party (DP) has endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema for the 2026 General Election.

DP President Judith Kabemba announced that the party has resolved to support President Hichilema, citing his performance in sectors such as education and mining.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, Ms. Kabemba said the party will campaign for President Hichilema and expressed confidence that he will be re-elected. She added that Zambia is in “safe hands” under his leadership.

Ms. Kabemba, however, clarified that the DP will still field candidates at parliamentary, mayoral, and ward levels.

She also criticized politicians who opposed Bill 7, now Constitution Amendment Act No. 13 of 2025, yet are now calling for delimitation. She urged political players to practice issue-based politics rather than opposing initiatives simply because they are in opposition

PF WILL NOT BE ON THE BALLOT IN AUGUST,  JUST MOVE ON- Chilufya Tayali

PF WILL NOT BE ON THE BALLOT IN AUGUST,  JUST MOVE ON
================
Imagine a thief breaks into a house and steals a television set. He takes it home and even tells his wife that the TV was stolen. A few days later, the couple quarrels. The following day, the wife leaves the house and takes the television with her.

The man then goes to the police station and reports that his wife has taken “his” TV. After investigations, the police discover the truth, that, the television was originally stolen. Now the question arises:

If the police recover the TV, who should it be returned to? Should it go back to the original owner from whom it was stolen, or to the thief who is now claiming that his wife took it from him?

This simple story reflects the current situation involving Miles Sampa and the Patriotic Front (PF).

The PF was originally led by former President Edgar Lungu. Later, Miles Sampa assumed control of the party structures. At some point, he handed over authority to Morgan Ng’ona, who was serving as Secretary General. However, Morgan later broke ranks with Sampa and aligned himself with other political interests.

The courts have since ruled that the PF should remain under the leadership of Miles Sampa. But the story does not end there.

Morgan Ng’ona has already appealed the decision, meaning the legal battle over the control and legitimacy of the Patriotic Front is far from over. Just like in the story of the stolen television, the bigger question remains:

who is the rightful owner?

On one side are those aligned with Edgar Lungu, who believe the PF was taken away from them. On the other side is Miles Sampa, who maintains that the PF under his leadership is the legitimate party.

Because of these deep divisions, Registrar of societies as  the institutions that regulate political parties, may still face a difficult decision about which PF to recognize as authentic.

In short, while Miles Sampa may celebrate the court judgment of yesterday, he is still deep in the woods politically. With the appeal already filed by Morgan Ng’ona, the matter is far from settled.

For that reason, I strongly believe we are unlikely to see the Patriotic Front appearing on the ballot papers in the upcoming elections in a clear and unified form.

Those who have already moved on politically should continue focusing on the future rather than looking back.

The PF brand alone will not resolve this conflict, and no one should assume that the struggle for its control has come to an end.

GOVT CONFIDENT IN ECONOMIC GROWTH DESPITE IMF DOWNGRADE

GOVT CONFIDENT IN ECONOMIC GROWTH DESPITE IMF DOWNGRADE

By Nelson Zulu

Government says it remains optimistic about achieving economic growth beyond the initial target this year, despite the International Monetary Fund –IMF- downgrading the country’s growth forecast from 6.6% to 5.4%.

Secretary to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa has told Phoenix News that the official growth baseline will be confirmed at the end of the first quarter through a bulletin from the Zambia Statistics Agency –ZAMSTAT-.

Mr. Nkulukusa states that preliminary estimates already indicate stronger activity in key sectors, but the formal ZAMSTAT release will allow government and development partners to reconcile models and agree on a common base.

https://youtu.be/7ckOsVKIZ9Y?si=SlLqFdE3SCkfVJ4g

He has acknowledged that recent IMF growth projections are supported by 2025 data and may not affect technical discussions with the fund over a successor programme.

Mr. Nkulukusa is confident that the future programme focused on economic growth will reflect Zambia’s policy priorities and be driven by domestic objectives.

ZAMBIA/IMF TECHNICAL DISCUSSIONS COULD START END OF APRIL

ZAMBIA/IMF TECHNICAL DISCUSSIONS COULD START END OF APRIL

The IMF has noted and acknowledged progress made by the Zambian government under the Extended Credit Facility, ECF.

As a result, the technical discussions around the second IMF program the Zambian government has requested could begin towards the end of April.

This program is intended to support the economic growth, diversification and employment creation initiatives of the UPND government.

However, because of the forthcoming general elections, substantive talks will only be held with the government that shall be elected.

This is because only then shall a clear policy direction which shall form the basis of discussions be known.

In the meantime, the IMF staff team which was in the country between February 26 to March 4 has noted fiscal pressures that government must be transparent and cautious about lest the gains made on the macroeconomic front are compromised.

Ongoing recruitment in the public service and the forthcoming elections are potential sources of concern which government is advised to watch out for.

Meanwhile, the IMF has revised downwards the 2025 GDP forecast to 4.5% and 5.5% for 2026 respectively.

The IMF attributes this revision to issues in the mining and agricultural sectors as well as the electricity supply challenges that only began to show signs of improvement this year.

Revising GDP forecasts is a common practice by the IMF as it continues to monitor developments that affect economic growth.

It often does this twice in a year or more and sometimes more than twice.

The IMF has advised the Zambian government to watch closely for anything that could seriously throw off balance both the inflation and exchange rates in view of the US/ISRAELI/IRAN war.

Under the ECF IMF program, the Zambian government restructured over 90% of the country’s external public debt, significantly increased international reserves, brought down inflation within the planned 6-8% band and stabilized the exchange rate.

These macroeconomic achievements provided the UPND government with fiscal space to attend to a number of programs and projects in the social sector.

Consequently, the ruling party is heading into the August 13, 2026 general elections confident that the Zambian people will approve its record in office by giving it a second term.

Chief Shakumbila Endorses President Hichilema

Chief Shakumbila Endorses President Hichilema

Senior Chief Shakumbila of Shibuyunji District has endorsed the candidature of President Hakainde Hichilema in the August 13 general election.

Chief Shakumbila said his senior and junior headmen, together with the people in his chiefdom, have resolved to vote for President Hichilema.

Speaking at an event to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026, the Senior Chief stated that President Hichilema deserves support from all Zambians because of policies such as free education and empowerment programs for women and youths.

Meanwhile, Nangoma Member of Parliament Collins Nzovu, who is also Minister of Water Development and Sanitation, said government will continue rolling out programmes for women, including business grants.

Mr. Nzovu appealed to the people in the area to support President Hichilema so that he can continue implementing the policies introduced since 2021.

U.S. Puts Brakes On Israel  Washington Tells Tel Aviv: No More Strikes On Iran’s Oil Facilities

Breaking News : U.s. Puts Brakes On Israel  Washington Tells Tel Aviv: No More Strikes On Iran’s Oil Facilities

Washington, D.C. | March 11, 2026

In a significant and historic move, the Trump administration has formally asked Israel to halt further strikes on Iran’s energy and oil infrastructure  marking the first time the U.S. has openly restrained Israeli military action since the two allies launched their joint war against Iran nearly two weeks ago.

The request was conveyed directly to senior Israeli political leadership and to IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

⚡ WHY IS THE U.S. PULLING BACK?

Washington cited three critical reasons:
🔹 Striking energy infrastructure harms ordinary Iranians  millions of whom oppose the regime  and risks turning public sentiment against the war effort.

🔹 President Trump hopes to cooperate with Iran’s oil sector after the conflict ends, similar to his approach with Venezuela’s oil reserves.

🔹 Further strikes could trigger massive Iranian retaliation on Gulf state energy facilities, risking a catastrophic regional economic crisis  with oil prices potentially hitting $200 a barrel, according to Iranian warnings..

💬 TRUMP’S POSITION
A source familiar with the matter revealed that Trump views strikes on Iranian oil as a “doomsday option”  a last resort to be used only if Iran first attacks Gulf oil infrastructure. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also publicly distanced the U.S. from Israel’s recent strikes on Iranian fuel depots, telling reporters the U.S. had not targeted facilities of that kind.

📌 BACKGROUND
Israel’s air force struck 30 Iranian fuel depots last Saturday, going far beyond what the U.S. had anticipated, blanketing Tehran  a city of 10 million  in toxic black smoke and acid rain. The White House’s initial reaction, per Axios, was blunt: “WTF.”

NAMBIA’S AMBASSADOR TO ANGOLA VISITS THE ZAMBIAN EMBASSY

NAMBIA’S AMBASSADOR TO ANGOLA VISITS THE ZAMBIAN EMBASSY

Today we received at our Embassy a man who carries Zambia in his heart, His Excellency Ambassador Leonard Lipumbu, Namibia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Angola.

Ambassador Lipumbu is no ordinary diplomatic colleague. He is a son of the liberation struggle who first set foot on Zambian soil as a young boy, went to school in Zambia, and returned again as a freedom fighter. For him, as he said plainly this afternoon, Zambia is home. And he meant it with everything in him.

He spoke with great warmth of President Kenneth Kaunda and President Rupiah Banda. He spoke of the debt that Namibia owes to Zambia for sheltering its liberation movement during the darkest years of the struggle against apartheid South Africa. He reminded me that Zambia paid a price, in lives, in infrastructure, in the safety of its own citizens, for opening its doors to SWAPO. That sacrifice must never be forgotten..

Ambassador Lipumbu also shared gripping accounts of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale which was a defining chapter of southern African liberation history, fought right here on Angolan soil.

We discussed the Lobito Corridor, regional air connectivity, and our joint plans to commemorate the Cuito Cuanavale commemoration on 23 March. We agreed to walk together as missions, as neighbours, and as heirs of the same Pan-African heritage.

One thing Ambassador Lipumbu said will stay with me: “This history must be taught in primary school.” He is right. If we do not tell this story, who will?

Zambia’s hospitality to the liberation movements of southern Africa is not just history. It is a living diplomatic asset, and we intend to continue to use it in our diplomatic service.

Rev. Dr. Elias Munshya
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zambia to the Republic of Angola.

US Navy Rejects Escort Requests for Ships in Strait of Hormuz Amid Iran War

Report: US Navy Rejects Escort Requests for Ships in Strait of Hormuz Amid Iran War.

The U.S. Navy has turned down repeated pleas from the shipping industry for military escorts through the Strait of Hormuz since the conflict with Iran began. A senior administration official confirmed the denials, which extend even to four U.S.-flagged vessels.

The Navy cites unacceptable risks from Iranian mines, drones, fast-attack boats, and other asymmetric threats in the narrow chokepoint.

Traffic through the strait, which handles about one-fifth of global oil supply, has largely stopped, pushing crude prices toward 2022 peaks and raising alarms over potential market chaos.

President Trump has stated the Navy will provide escorts once conditions improve and risks drop. The Joint Chiefs are reviewing options, but no firm timeline exists. Experts note that no current coalition possesses enough warships to fully secure the passage against Iran’s capabilities.

The situation underscores the challenges of protecting vital energy routes in active conflict without escalating further.

Israel Claims Iran Has Fired 300 Ballistic Missiles Since War Began, Many Equipped With Cluster Warheads

Breaking News : Israel Claims Iran Has Fired 300 Ballistic Missiles Since War Began, Many Equipped With Cluster Warheads

Israeli military officials say Iran has launched approximately 300 ballistic missiles at Israel since the start of the ongoing conflict, with a significant number of those missiles reportedly carrying cluster munition warheads.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), roughly half of the missiles fired by Iran were equipped with cluster-type warheads designed to disperse multiple submunitions over a wide area after the missile detonates in the air. Military officials say this type of payload increases the area of impact and can make interception and post-strike clearance more difficult.

Israeli authorities state that the missile attacks have targeted multiple areas across the country since hostilities escalated, prompting extensive use of Israel’s layered air defense systems including Arrow, David’s Sling, and Iron Dome to intercept incoming threats.

Cluster munitions are controversial weapons internationally because the submunitions they release can spread across large areas and may remain unexploded, posing long-term risks to civilians after the conflict ends. Several international agreements restrict their use, though not all countries are signatories.

At this stage, the figures regarding the number of missiles and the use of cluster warheads come from Israeli military assessments, and independent verification remains difficult while the conflict is ongoing. Iranian authorities have not publicly confirmed these specific details.

Top U.S. General Assesses Iran Conflict – “They’re Fighting, But Not More Formidable Than We Thought”

Breaking News : Top U.S. General Assesses Iran Conflict – “They’re Fighting, But Not More Formidable Than We Thought”

Washington, D.C. – March 10, 2026 – In a stark assessment from the Pentagon, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine delivered a measured update on the escalating U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran, known as Operation Epic Fury. Speaking alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a high-stakes briefing, Gen. Caine acknowledged Iran’s resilience while underscoring that their capabilities align with pre-war intelligence expectations.

“They are fighting, and I respect that,” Gen. Caine stated candidly. “But I don’t think they are more formidable than we thought.”

The remarks come amid reports of intensified U.S. strikes on Iranian naval assets and missile sites, with U.S. officials claiming significant degradation of Tehran’s defensive infrastructure. As the conflict enters its critical phase, Gen. Caine’s words signal confidence in allied strategies, even as Iran continues to adapt on the ground.

This development highlights the evolving dynamics in the Middle East, where U.S. forces are bolstering Israeli operations to neutralize threats from Iranian proxies and ballistic capabilities. Stay tuned for updates as the situation unfolds.

RUMOR SWIRLS: MOJTABA KHAMENEI ON VENTILATOR AFTER DEADLY STRIKES

RUMOR SWIRLS: MOJTABA KHAMENEI ON VENTILATOR AFTER DEADLY STRIKES

Unverified Persian-language reports circulating on X claim Mojtaba Khamenei, recently installed as Iran’s new Supreme Leader following his father’s death, is in critical condition at Sina Hospital in Tehran.

According to the accounts, he suffered severe abdominal and leg injuries during strikes that also killed members of his immediate family. Sources say he is currently intubated and on a ventilator, with unusually heavy security around his ward severely restricting access—even to most regime insiders. Specific names of treating surgeons and a recent visit by President Pezeshkian are mentioned in the chatter.

The rumor first gained traction among opposition and activist circles shortly after the beginning of what some are already calling the “Ramadan War” of 2026. Official Iranian state media has so far only referred to Mojtaba vaguely as a “war veteran” with no comment on his current status or location.

While no hard confirmation exists and wartime information blackouts are standard, the volume and consistency of these hospital-bed reports are fueling speculation of a deepening leadership crisis inside the Islamic Republic.

Emirati billionair has sharply criticised US Senator Lindsey Graham over call for Gulf states to join military operations against Iran

Emirati billionaire Khalaf Al Habtoor has sharply criticised US Senator Lindsey Graham after the American lawmaker called on Gulf states to join military operations against Iran alongside the United States and Israel.

In a lengthy post on the social media platform X, Al Habtoor rejected any Gulf participation in the conflict, arguing that the region is already paying the price for decisions taken without consulting Arab states..

Graham made the remarks during media interviews following a closed congressional briefing, where he urged Gulf countries to become more actively involved in military action against Iran. He argued that Iranian attacks on countries such as Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia could prompt Washington’s Arab allies to take a stronger role in the confrontation.

The senator also said that the United States “will not fight alone in the Middle East”, noting that arms sales to Gulf countries form part of broader strategic alliances.

Al Habtoor responded by criticising what he described as foreign pressure on regional states to join the conflict.

“We know perfectly well why we are being attacked, and we also know who dragged the entire region into this dangerous escalation without consulting its allies,” he wrote.

The Emirati businessman said Gulf countries do not need outside protection and warned against risking the lives of people in the region in a wider war.

“Nothing is more precious than the lives of our sons, and no alliance is worth risking them,” he said, adding: “We don’t need your protection… all we want from you is to keep your hands off us.”

Al Habtoor also criticised the role of the global arms trade, describing weapons sales as a major business rather than a form of protection, and argued that conflicts in the region benefit the international arms industry.

He further accused Graham of prioritising Israeli interests over those of the American public, saying the region’s countries seek peace and stability and prefer diplomatic solutions rather than military escalation.

Iranian Football Star Defies Regime: Mother’s Heart-Wrenching Plea Saves Her from Return to Peril

Iranian Football Star Defies Regime: Mother’s Heart-Wrenching Plea Saves Her from Return to Peril

24-year-old Golnoosh Khosravi, a winger for Iran’s women’s national football team, refused to board her flight home from Sydney Airport in March 2026. She became the seventh player to defect during the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, rejecting the oppressive grip of the Islamic Republic for the safety of asylum in Australia.

The turning point came from her own mother in Iran, who delivered a desperate, direct message through advocates: “Tell my daughter Golnoush to stay in Australia.” Fearing execution or severe reprisals if her daughter returned—amid the regime’s ongoing crackdown on women and dissenters since the 2022 Mahsa Amini protests—the mother made clear she would rather her child live free elsewhere than risk death back home.

Supporters at the airport amplified the plea with signs reading “Golnoosh, your mum said to stay. Tell the police,” sparking chaotic but triumphant scenes as Khosravi stepped away from the gate. Australian authorities responded swiftly, granting humanitarian visas and police protection to her, six teammates, and one staff member.

This isn’t just one athlete’s escape—it’s a stark indictment of a regime that brands female athletes as traitors for seeking basic rights and safety. Australia’s firm stand delivers real freedom while shining a harsh light on Tehran’s brutality. Courage and a mother’s love prevailed.

Lebanon’s President Pitches Ceasefire: Halt Israeli Strikes, Deploy Army to Hezbollah Zones, Seize Weapons

Lebanon’s President Pitches Ceasefire: Halt Israeli Strikes, Deploy Army to Hezbollah Zones, Seize Weapons

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has rolled out a fresh ceasefire proposal aimed at ending hostilities with Israel. The plan calls for an immediate stop to Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, bolstering the Lebanese Army with international backing, deploying Lebanese forces into Hezbollah-controlled areas, and confiscating the group’s weapons. It also opens the door to direct Israel-Lebanon negotiations under U.S. and French coordination, with possible venues in Cyprus, France, or Washington.

The proposal revives core elements of UN Resolution 1701 from 2006—Hezbollah’s full disarmament and a demilitarized south—but skepticism runs high. Lebanon has failed for nearly two decades to enforce those terms, leaving the central government weak against Hezbollah’s entrenched power.

Reactions on X from pro-Israel voices were swift and dismissive. Many called it recycled empty promises, pointing to Hezbollah’s ongoing strength and the Lebanese Army’s inability (or unwillingness) to act.

Common demands: verifiable disarmament first, or Israel should hold and expand a buffer zone up to the Litani River. Trust remains zero—words are cheap, but rockets and reality speak louder.

Doris Ogala Levies Shocking Spiritual Allegations Against Tonto Dikeh

Doris Ogala Levies Shocking Spiritual Allegations Against Tonto Dikeh

The Nigerian social media space is buzzing following a series of explosive claims made by actress Doris Ogala regarding her former close friend, Tonto Dikeh. In a viral video that has ignited intense debate, Ogala alleges that the high-profile actress employed unconventional spiritual means to influence her public image and personal relationships.

Allegations of Spiritual Influence

According to the video, Ogala claims that Tonto Dikeh previously admitted to using the services of a traditional practitioner. The purpose of this, Ogala suggests, was to create a “hypnotic” effect on the public and those close to her, ensuring she remained favored even during intense controversies.

“automatically hypnotises people so no one sees anything wrong in what she does.”

Impact on Past Relationships

Doris Ogala specifically pointed toward Tonto’s past highly-publicized conflicts, including those with her ex-husband and her former partner, Kpokpogri. She argued that the public’s tendency to side with Tonto during these fallouts was not a natural occurrence but a result of these alleged rituals.

“Once you fight her, all the people following her, they are all hypnotised… they can never see anything wrong in her.”

She continued by explaining why she believes the backlash against Tonto’s ex-partners was disproportionate:

“Now, you see what they do? Even when she is at fault, the whole world comes against her ex-husband… It’s not normal.”

Personal Revelations

Ogala emphasized that these details were not mere rumors but based on private conversations the two shared during their friendship. The revelations have sparked a divide among fans, with some questioning the timing of the claims and others expressing shock at the gravity of the accusations.

3 Iranian Warships Try to Confront a U.S. Carrier

3 Iranian Warships Try to Confront a U.S. Carrier

In a dramatic show of military tension, three Iranian naval vessels reportedly moved toward a U.S. carrier strike group, attempting to challenge the USS George Washington in waters near the Middle East.

The encounter quickly escalated into one of the most intense naval face-offs in recent months.

As the Iranian ships closed distance, the U.S. Navy responded immediately.
The guided-missile destroyer USS Gravely maneuvered into a defensive position while an MH-60R Seahawk helicopter launched overhead to monitor the situation from the air.

What began as a tense approach rapidly turned into a high-stakes standoff.

U.S. naval forces made it clear the carrier group would not be blocked, surrounded, or intimidated.

With American destroyers, surveillance aircraft, and carrier-based jets ready to respond within seconds, the message was unmistakable: any hostile move would be met with overwhelming force.

In the end, the Iranian vessels backed away, leaving behind a chilling reminder of how quickly a confrontation at sea could spiral into a full-scale military crisis in one of the world’s most volatile regions.

Trump Trolls Canada’s PM Again: Calls Mark Carney the ‘Future Governor of Canada’

Trump Trolls Canada’s PM Again: Calls Mark Carney the ‘Future Governor of Canada’

President Trump dropped another classic zinger while announcing real action to protect the Great Lakes from invasive Asian carp.

In a Truth Social post, he detailed teaming up with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and planning to rally governors from Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and New York to stop the destructive fish that’s threatening Lake Michigan and surrounding areas..

Then came the punchline: “…and, of course, the future Governor of Canada, Mark Carney, who I know will be happy to contribute to this worthy cause.”

Classic Trump—handling a serious environmental and economic threat (one that could hammer billions in fisheries and tourism) while reminding everyone north of the border who’s really in charge.

Trump Draws Red Line: Iran Must Clear Mines from Strait of Hormuz or Face Unprecedented Force

President Trump Draws Red Line: Iran Must Clear Mines from Strait of Hormuz or Face Unprecedented Force

President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran on Tuesday, demanding the immediate removal of any naval mines placed in the Strait of Hormuz—the critical chokepoint for roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply.

In a forceful Truth Social post, Trump declared: “If Iran has put out any mines in the Hormuz Strait, and we have no reports of them doing so, we want them removed, IMMEDIATELY! If for any reason mines were placed, and they are not removed forthwith, the Military consequences to Iran will be at a level never seen before.”

He added that clearing any mines would mark “a giant step in the right direction,” while hinting at swift U.S. action against vessels attempting to deploy them.

The statement comes amid U.S. intelligence reports, cited by CNN and others, indicating Iran has begun laying a limited number of mines—perhaps a few dozen—in recent days, even as the ongoing conflict has already severely restricted tanker traffic.

In a show of resolve, the U.S. military struck decisively, destroying multiple Iranian mine-laying vessels (reports range from 10 to 16) near the strait, with Trump announcing the hits and CENTCOM confirming the ruthless precision strikes on inactive threats.

Trump has made clear that America will not allow Tehran to hold global energy supplies hostage. With the U.S. Navy positioned to protect the vital waterway and options like tanker escorts on the table, Trump’s message is unmistakable: keep the Strait open, or pay a devastating price.

This firm stance aims to restore free flow of oil, stabilize markets rattled by the conflict, and deter further Iranian escalation. Peace through strength remains the path forward.

IRAN LAYS MINES IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ — U.S. MILITARY STRIKES BACK, DESTROYS 16 IRANIAN MINELAYING VESSELS

🚨 Breaking News : IRAN LAYS MINES IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ — U.S. MILITARY STRIKES BACK, DESTROYS 16 IRANIAN MINELAYING VESSELS

Iran has begun laying naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most critical oil chokepoint, in a dramatic escalation that is sending shockwaves through global energy markets and triggering a direct U.S. military response.

According to two sources familiar with U.S. intelligence reporting, a few dozen mines have already been laid in recent days. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps retains 80 to 90% of its minelaying fleet, meaning it could feasibly deploy hundreds more.

Iran is using small crafts, each carrying two to three mines, to deploy them into the strait. While Iran’s total mine stockpile is not publicly confirmed, U.S. estimates have ranged from 2,000 to 6,000 naval mines, largely produced by Iran, China, or Russia.

President Trump posted on Truth Social demanding the mines be removed “IMMEDIATELY,” warning that military consequences would come “at a level never before seen.” Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth confirmed that U.S. Central Command had been striking Iranian minelaying vessels with ruthless precision. CENTCOM subsequently confirmed it destroyed multiple Iranian naval ships, including 16 minelayers.

Oil prices swung violently, fluctuating between over $90 and under $80 per barrel in a single day. Nearly 15 million barrels per day of crude production, plus another 4.5 million in refined fuels, are now effectively stranded in the Persian Gulf, with countries like Iraq and Kuwait having no alternative shipping route.

The Strait of Hormuz has been effectively shut since the start of the conflict, with tankers unable to sail for over a week and producers halting pumping as storage fills to capacity.

This is a rapidly developing situation with major consequences for global energy supply and international security. Stay tuned for updates.

PF GIVEN BACK TO MILES SAMPA: MORGAN NGONA WAS PROPERLY FIRED-LUSAKA HIGH COURT

PF GIVEN BACK TO MILES SAMPA

MILES SAMPA SCORES MAJOR COURT VICTORY

MORGAN NGONA WAS PROPERLY FIRED-LUSAKA HIGH COURT

Lusaka- Tuesday, 10th March 2026

The Lusaka High Court has ruled that the decision by Patriotic Front President Miles Sampa to fire Morgan Ngona who he had hired. was legal and legitimate.

Lusaka High Court Judge, Hon. Mrs. Justice Conceptor Chinyanwa Zulu dismissed Morgan Ngona challenge for want of prosecution of the matter since 2025.

The Matero MP, who is also Patriotic Front President, Miles Sampa had dismissed  Morgan Ngona as his Secretary General and took over powers of the Secretary General.

He also removed Robert Chabinga as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament.

But Ng’ona quickly challenged his dismissal from the position fearing of the consequences.

This is a major victory to Miles Sampa and renders the Kabwe High Court ruling invalid as it has been overtaken by events.

Similarly, Sampa’s changes where he removed Chabinga in Parliament become vaild.

Morgan has filed an application for the Judge to  stay her momentous judgment and he claims his appeal has a chance to succeed even when he failed to prosecute the matter in the high court.

Saboi Imboela Commends Hichilema Over Proportional Representation for Women

National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader Saboi Imboela has commended President Hakainde Hichilema for the introduction of proportional representation aimed at increasing the number of women in Parliament.
Imboela said the move, which guarantees 20 seats for women, is an important step toward improving women’s participation in national leadership.

Under Constitution Amendment Bill No. 7 of 2025, Parliament would expand from the current 156 constituency seats to include 40 additional seats filled through proportional representation. Of these seats, 20 would be reserved for women, 15 for youths and five for persons with disabilities.

The reserved seats would be allocated through party lists, allowing candidates to enter Parliament based on the proportion of votes their political parties receive during general elections.

Speaking through a TV interview, Imboela said the proposed reform has the potential to significantly increase the representation of women in the National Assembly.

She said that although she was disappointed with the scrapping of the Ministry of Gender and the relatively low number of women appointed to Cabinet, she welcomed the President’s commitment to proportional representation.

“One thing that I have always been very happy with President Hichilema is the fact that he made it very clear from the onset that he wanted proportionate representation. On that one, I am very, very happy,” Imboela said.

She added that while she had concerns about the process surrounding Bill 7, the contents of the bill still present progress for women’s political representation.

“The issue was always about the process. The process was not really fair. It was disrespectful to us as stakeholders. So Bill 7 was never really so much about the content, but the process. The content was not so bad,” she said.

Imboela noted that proportional representation has helped increase women’s participation in politics in several countries, including Rwanda, South Africa and Namibia.

“In Africa, when you see all the countries that are doing well when it comes to women’s political representation, you see that all of them have proportional representation. Rwanda, which is the very best in the whole world, has about 64.4 percent of women in parliament,” she said.

She also urged political parties not to rely solely on the guaranteed seats but to ensure that more women are adopted as candidates.

“So political parties should ensure, as much as possible, that they adopt women,” she said.

Imboela said the introduction of proportional representation places Zambia on a positive path toward improving women’s representation in leadership.

“On that one alone, I commend President Hichilema for ensuring that we have proportional representation. Because trust me, we are now on the right path to ensure that we have a good number of women,” she said.

UPND DEFENDS MWEETWA OVER REMARKS ON MUNDUBILE, SAYS KAMBWILI ALLEGATIONS WARRANT DUE PROCESS

UPND DEFENDS MWEETWA OVER REMARKS ON MUNDUBILE, SAYS KAMBWILI ALLEGATIONS WARRANT DUE PROCESS

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has noted the remarks issued by Mr. George Chisanga in response to a statement made by Chief Government Spokesperson Hon. Cornelius Mweetwa regarding allegations publicly raised by Mr. Chishimba Kambwili.

We wish to make it clear that Hon. Cornelius Mweetwa’s remarks were neither reckless nor inappropriate. In any functioning democracy governed by the rule of law, it is a normal and responsible process that when whistleblowers publicly state that they possess information regarding alleged wrongdoing and express willingness to testify, the matter naturally attracts the attention of law enforcement agencies whose duty is to investigate such claims.

The Chief Government Spokesperson did not accuse anyone of committing a crime, nor did he instruct law enforcement agencies to arrest anyone. What was stated was a simple and legitimate observation that when serious allegations are made publicly by individuals claiming to have evidence, investigative institutions should look into the matter.

It must also be clearly understood that an investigation does not automatically translate into an arrest. The law is very clear that every individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. Therefore, the suggestion that merely raising the need for due diligence amounts to political persecution is misleading and unfortunate.

We also wish to remind Mr. Chisanga that it was not government that made the allegations against Hon. Brian Mundubile. The allegations were publicly made by Mr. Chishimba Kambwili, a person who previously worked closely with Hon. Mundubile and who openly declared before the nation that he possesses information and is willing to testify.

Under such circumstances, the question naturally arises: what should any responsible government do when such public allegations are made? Remain silent? Certainly not. It is entirely reasonable to expect that investigative wings of the state examine such claims to establish the truth and put the matter to rest.

Therefore, for Mr. Chisanga to suggest that the Chief Government Spokesperson was reckless simply for wondering why investigative processes had not yet commenced is both misplaced and unfortunate. The UPND government remains fully committed to respecting the independence of law enforcement agencies. These institutions operate under the law and will conduct their duties professionally whenever matters that require investigation arise.

We have also observed with concern a growing trend of individuals deliberately circulating misleading information, particularly regarding government development projects. In some instances, individuals are taking photographs of completed infrastructure such as existing tarmac roads and falsely presenting them as newly constructed works in order to mislead the public.

We strongly urge developers and contractors whose projects are being misrepresented to take appropriate legal action against such perpetrators. Government will also not hesitate to report such acts of deliberate misinformation to the police so that those responsible can be held accountable.

The UPND wishes to reiterate that Zambia is a country governed by laws and institutions, not speculation or political propaganda. Any person with evidence of wrongdoing should present it to the relevant investigative authorities so that due process can take its course.

Government Should Stop Manufacturing Arrests and Focus on Zambia’s Real Problems

We have seen the reckless remarks by Chief Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa suggesting that law enforcement agencies should arrest Tonse Alliance President, Honourable Brian Muntayalwa Mundubile over allegations contained in an audio recording involving Chishimba Kambwili.

Let me state this without hesitation: President Mundubile has committed no crime and not afraid of any investigation. If anyone claims to have evidence of wrongdoing, the correct place to present it is before investigative agencies — not at a political press briefing designed to manufacture headlines.

What is shocking is that a senior government official now feels comfortable publicly instructing law enforcement who to arrest. That is not how a functional democracy works. That is how political intimidation works.

The Zambian people should ask themselves a simple question: why is the government so desperate to create scandals about opposition leaders instead of addressing the real crisis facing the country?

We know that they are now aware from very recent events and frightened of the rising popularity of President Mundubile.

But families are struggling with a skyrocketing cost of living,

persistent power shortages, unemployment, and a weakening economy.

Zambians are also aware of documented cases of illicit financial flows amounting to more than three billion dollars as well as the saddest story in the history of the country’s medical procurement involving sixty one containers of medicines illegally procured from Egypt and many other corrupt transactions that Government has not addressed Yet instead of solutions, the government is offering rumours, recordings, and politically motivated distractions.
