They want to abduct me, cries Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba wrote;

President Hakainde Hichilema and his advisors are getting dangerously evil and destructive.

It is clear that; “What they can’t control, they must destroy.”

It’s not my fault that despite the huge resources and state infrastructure available before him, he has failed to put up a working team, literally in every ministry  department and unit. His rule is characterised by failure and self-pleasing hyperbole statements of national development.

He has Brenthurst Foundation, Tony Blair Institute and his local advisors and therefore, it must have been easy to govern and fashion a development agenda.

Further it’s not my fault that he has failed to put up an effective media team, that fails him everyday, embarrasses him everyday, despite the presence of qualified and experienced personnel in Zambia he can consider to recruit.

On my podcast, “Emmanuel Mwamba Verified”,I bother to support my arguments and opinions with verified facts, in video or documentary form, and I open phone lines, open lines, unfettered access so that anyone can call, they also can call.

Hichilema’s own videos, in his own words, are a regular feature.

What is clear is that they find the publication of the Truth dangerous!

He has enacted some of the most obnoxious, repressive and dangerous laws against free speech and other individual rights and freedoms.

I left the country because of increasing state and UPND serious threats against my life and that of my family.

When I was in Ethiopia for the African Union Heads of State Summit in February 2025, I was being sought like a needle, and a group of 3 men turned up at the hotel frantically looking for me.

Probably to abduct me.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation even recalled a member of staff at the Zambian Embassy in Addis Ababa accusing her of helping me to be accredited to the Summit.

They accused someone I’ve never met or known or spoken to in my entire life.

It must be said that I was an effective and celebrated Ambassador at the AU (not to blow my own trumpets) and I was therefore invited to the Summit by the AU and other organizations.

Do I need anyone to help me with accreditation or access to the African Union or its meetings?

Imagine if I was in the country in Zambia? What would be my fate?
Even when I’m out here, Am I safe against a regime and its tentacles, Hichilema has turned out to be.

Family, pray for me and my family and pray for all those in the struggle.

My story is not isolated. It’s the story of every Zambian that find President Hichilema’s rule and governance objectionable, call out his misrule, expose his corruption, condemn his abuse of human rights, speak against his tyrany to control all wings of government and democratic institutions and denounce his dictatorship.

ZamStats’ Language Statistics Are A Dangerous Seed of Division- Political Activist

OPINION: ZamStats’ Language Statistics Are A Dangerous Seed of Division

By Michael Zephaniah Phiri – Political Activist

It is with a heavy heart and deep concern that I write to condemn the new trajectory the Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats) has taken in its recent report on languages spoken in Zambia. This is not just about numbers — it is about the dangerous seeds of tribal division that can be planted when statistics are not handled responsibly.

Recently, ZamStats released figures showing that Tonga has overtaken Nyanja to become the second-most widely spoken language in Zambia after Bemba. On paper, these may appear to be mere demographic facts. But in reality, they come with undertones that threaten our fragile unity as a nation.

According to the 2022 Census data:

Bemba remains the most widely spoken language, used by 34% of Zambians nationwide — dominant in both rural (23.8%) and urban (46.7%) areas.

Tonga is now reported as the second-most spoken language at 12.8%, more prevalent in rural areas (18.2%) than urban centres.

Nyanja, despite its prominence in our towns and cities, is now listed third with 11.4% usage, yet it remains dominant in urban areas at 21.8%.

English, our official national language, is used by only 1.9% of the population at home.

Now, let’s compare that with the 2010 Census figures, which every Zambian can verify:

Bemba was at about 33.5%, almost unchanged.

Nyanja stood at 14.7% nationally, making it the clear second-most spoken language.

Tonga was recorded at 11%, placing it third overall.

What has changed so drastically in just a decade for Tonga to suddenly overtake Nyanja — especially when migration patterns show Nyanja-speaking communities continue to grow in urban areas? How did Tonga become the second-most spoken language? Where is the raw data? What was the methodology? These are legitimate questions every concerned citizen must ask.

From the look of things, this does not add up with our known social and urban dynamics. To the ordinary Zambian, this feels like there is a hidden agenda — to promote tribal narratives that only divide us further.

It is not lost on us that not long ago, the Head of State himself questioned, “Why do they hate me just because I am HH(Tonga)?” Such careless statements are dangerous when echoed from the highest office in the land. They plant the notion that tribe must be the lens through which we view leadership and national belonging.

This is exactly what our founding father, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, foresaw. Let us not forget that Dr. Kaunda once amended the Constitution itself to curb tribal politics — all in defence of our cherished national motto, “One Zambia, One Nation.” He knew that the only thing that could break Zambia was tribalism.

What happened to that spirit today? Are we so blind as a nation that we cannot see how these so-called “statistics” are slowly being used to push a narrative of “us versus them”? This is not the Zambia we inherited from KK and our founding mothers and fathers.

We must ask the tough questions. We must demand transparency from ZamStats: What is the motive behind pushing this narrative at this time? What is the impact on national unity? What measures are in place to ensure that no one exploits this data for political mileage?

We are Zambians before we are Bemba, Tonga, Nyanja, Lozi, or any other tribe. Let us not be deceived by anyone — politician or statistician — who tries to pit one group against another for power or social advantage.

I call on every well-meaning Zambian to stand up and say: *ENOUGH!* Let us protect our unity. Let us remember the vision of our forefathers. Let us hold institutions like ZamStats accountable — they exist to build trust, not to erode it.

*Our greatest national language is not Bemba, myTonga, or Nyanja — it is One Zambia, One Nation. May we never forget that.*

15 ZAMBIANS KILLED IN MUFUMBWE – YOUR GOVERNMENT COMMITS EXTRA JUDICIAL KILLINGS, MUNDUBILE TELLS HICHILEMA

15 ZAMBIANS KILLED IN MUFUMBWE – YOUR GOVERNMENT COMMITS EXTRA JUDICIAL KILLINGS, MUNDUBILE TELLS HICHILEMA

We issue this statement with a heavy heart and deep outrage at the silence of the Government of the Republic of Zambia in the wake of the tragic killing of more than 15 Zambian citizens in Mufumbwe, allegedly at the hands of law enforcement officers.

It is deeply troubling that a Government so quick to hold press briefings to rebut social media commentary, particularly any criticism, real or perceived, against President Hakainde Hichilema, has chosen to remain mute on a matter of grave national concern. Where is the same urgency when lives are lost? Where is the outrage when the citizens of this nation are gunned down?

We are calling on families in Mufumbwe who have lost loved ones in this tragedy to come forward with the names of the deceased. These were not statistics. They were human beings (sons, daughters, mothers, and fathers) with dreams, futures, and families who now mourn them. We must restore their dignity by giving their names a voice.

This is not just a tragedy. It is an abomination in a country that claims to uphold the rule of law. The individuals killed were not armed insurgents, nor were they convicted criminals. Their only “crime” was attempting to lift themselves out of poverty by mining resources that rightfully belong to all Zambians. And yet, in a cruel twist of irony, while foreign investors are allowed to exploit these resources with generous tax exemptions, our own people pay for access with their blood. This is not right at all!

This Government has shown, time and again, that its concern does not lie with the ordinary Zambian. We must ask, has the Constitution been suspended? The right to life, enshrined in our laws, is clear: no one shall be deprived of life except through a lawful court process, and yet, these killings were carried out with neither charge nor trial.

Mr. President, let us remind you that the abolishment of the death penalty was lauded as a progressive step in upholding human rights. Yet today, your Government commits extrajudicial killings, actions far worse than executing those convicted by courts of law.

Let it be known: these victims had names, they had families, and they had a right to life. That right has been stolen.

We are equally appalled by inflammatory statements from government officials threatening civil unrest over the burial of our late President, Edgar Chagwa Lungu. What greater unrest can there be than the mass killing of citizens by the State?

We demand accountability. We demand an immediate investigation. And most importantly, we demand that this Government stop killing innocent people. If anyone is suspected of wrongdoing, let them be arrested, tried, and judged in a court of law, not in the bush or open field by bullets.

This is not about politics. This is about justice, human dignity, and the sanctity of life.

No Foreign Head of State, No Zambian President at the 59 ZITF

Despite an official program showing that President Hakainde Hichilema would grace the opening of the 59th Zambia International Trade Fair, he didn’t turn up and there was no offical explanation.

The International show is Zambia’s premier show and attracts exhibitors from Africa and beyond.

It is the largest trade exhibition in the country, boasts of over 1,000 local and foreign exhibitors and attracts about 200,000 patrons.

To my knowledge  this is the first time that the trade show was not officially graced by the President and a foreign guest President.

When I enquired about the President’s absence one official gave me a comical but probably a true answer; “the President is too busy with the Attorney-General trying to reclaim the remains of his predecessor!”

It is clear where the priority and mindset of the President is.

President Hichilema did not even bother to send his Vice President.

This is derelict of duty.

“Lungu Family Has Legal Standing in Burial Decisions”-  Sunday Chanda

“Lungu Family Has Legal Standing in Burial Decisions” Sunday Chanda. …

Vice Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, Governance and Human Rights, Hon. Sunday Chilufya Chanda, has weighed in on the ongoing burial dispute involving the late former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, stating that in the absence of a burial directive, the family holds the primary legal and cultural authority in deciding the burial arrangements.

In a legal opinion brief dated July 4, 2025, Hon. Chanda who is also the Member of Parliament for Kanchibiya and a candidate for the Master of Laws (LL.M) emphasized that while the State has an interest in honouring a former Head of State, such interest must not override family rights, cultural norms, or human dignity.

“In the absence of a burial directive in the will, the Lungu family remains the primary moral, cultural, and legal stakeholder in deciding where and how he is buried,” Chanda wrote, calling for respect, dialogue, and cultural sensitivity in handling the matter.

The Zambian Government has petitioned the Pretoria High Court in South Africa, seeking the repatriation of President Lungu’s body. The State argues that he did not specify a burial preference and that as a beneficiary under the Former Presidents’ Benefits Act, he should receive a State funeral. However, Chanda argues that the Act does not contain provisions that authorize the State to dictate burial arrangements.

“The Former Presidents’ Benefits Act, Cap. 15, is silent on burial procedures,” he stated. “While it restores entitlements after death, it does not extinguish family rights, particularly in the sacred matter of burial.”

Chanda cited several legal precedents to support his argument, including the 2021 case of the late President Kenneth Kaunda. Though the High Court upheld the government’s insistence on a State funeral at Embassy Park, it also emphasized that such decisions must be “lawful, proportionate, and consultative,” acknowledging the family’s importance in the process.

He also referenced the 1987 Kenyan case Wambui Otieno v. Ochieng & Clan, in which the court upheld the primacy of customary law in burial decisions, and cited recent rulings by the European Court of Human Rights, which held that interference with family burial decisions must be justified by a pressing public interest and respect the family’s rights.

Highlighting the risks of state overreach, Chanda warned that sidelining the family in such a culturally sensitive matter could lead to political, legal, and reputational damage. “Overriding family preferences may be seen as a cultural affront in Zambia, where burial is a sacred familial rite,” he noted. “It could set a dangerous precedent in matters of personal liberty and family autonomy.”

To resolve the impasse, Chanda proposed a mediated approach involving respected national institutions such as the Council of Churches, the House of Chiefs, or other neutral statesmen. He further urged the government to facilitate a joint communiqué with the Lungu family, agreeing on the burial site, the balance between public and private mourning, and religious versus ceremonial rites.

In the long term, Chanda called on the Zambian legislature to amend the Former Presidents’ Benefits Act to include clear burial protocols with mandatory family involvement. He stressed that his views are expressed in his personal academic capacity, not as a political statement. “This is a legal opinion brief written in exercise of my intellectual and academic freedom,” he wrote. “It is therefore not a political statement.”

OPPOSITION STOP CRITICIZING EVERYTHING PRESIDENT HICHILEMA SAYS AND DOES- Spuki Mulemwa

5/7/25

OPPOSITION STOP CRITICIZING EVERYTHING PRESIDENT HICHILEMA SAYS AND DOES.

It’s unacceptable for anyone to purport that the New Dawn Administration has not fulfilled most of their campaign promises.

For example, President Hakainde Hichilema has navigated the country out of devastating drought to a bumper harvest, due to timely distribution of farming inputs and his encouragement to farmers to soldier on despite the drought.

It’s also gratifying to note that the cost of our staple food mealie meal, is slowly coming down as a result of government’s deliberate policy to improve the maize supply chain.

However, it’s regrettable that the opposition has continued to throw stones and vilifying President Hichilema despite his tacit commitment to improve citizens’ welfare.

It’s for these reasons, we advise the opposition to provide credible checks and balances to government, and not to criticize everything government says and does, regardless of their obvious benefits to citizens.

Infact, it’s a sign of strength and not weakness for the opposition to commend government for doing something good for its citizens.

Conflict or Competence? Why Speaker Nelly Mutti’s Corporate Role Raises Red Flags- George N. Mtonga

Conflict or Competence? Why Speaker Nelly Mutti’s Corporate Role Raises Red Flags

By George N. Mtonga | July 2025

In a country striving to rebuild trust in institutions and assert the independence of its democratic arms, the Speaker of the National Assembly must be above reproach—politically neutral, procedurally fair, and institutionally separate from private interests.

That’s why the recent revelation that Rt. Hon. Nelly Mutti, the sitting Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, also chairs the board of GEI Power Limited—the private Zambian company spearheading the 60 MW Cooma Solar Project—is cause for serious concern.

 The Role of the Speaker: More Than a Gavel

The Speaker is not merely a referee in parliamentary debates. She is the guardian of legislative integrity, presiding over key committees and making procedural decisions that affect the entire democratic process. Her office demands strict neutrality—not just in speech, but in appearance and association.

Section 60 of Zambia’s Constitution places the Speaker in a unique category—she is elected by Members of Parliament but is required to be above party and private interest. In fact, she may preside over debates on energy policy, procurement frameworks, and investment bills that could directly or indirectly benefit GEI Power.

️ What Is GEI Power Limited?

GEI Power Limited is a privately-owned energy firm developing Zambia’s first utility-scale solar-plus-battery project in Choma in partnership with Turkish firm YEO Teknoloji. The project has attracted high-level government backing and foreign investment interest. Speaker Mutti serves as Board Chairperson of the company—a role confirmed on the company’s official website and at public events (GEI Power).

The question is not about the project’s merit. Zambia needs clean energy. But should the Speaker of the National Assembly be involved in a private project that may be subject to the laws and budgets she helps oversee?

⚠️ Where the Red Flags Are

1. Conflict of Interest
The Speaker may have to rule on legislation or debate relating to public-private partnerships, energy procurement policy, tax incentives, or power purchase agreements—decisions that may directly affect her company.

2. Influence Over Procurement Frameworks
Even if GEI Power’s project is privately financed, the company still interacts with ZESCO and government agencies—entities whose frameworks are debated and reviewed in Parliament.

3. Institutional Trust
The legitimacy of Parliament rests on its independence from both the Executive and private sector. If the Speaker is seen as having a financial interest in a regulated industry, public faith in the impartiality of Parliament may erode.

4. Precedent and Political Optics
What signal does it send when the highest parliamentary authority holds a leadership position in a for-profit company? It opens the door to future abuse of office by those citing this case as precedent

5. Undermines Separation of Powers
A Speaker holding corporate office blurs the lines between regulator and regulated. It is incompatible with parliamentary ethics and violates best practices in governance.

 Global Best Practice Says: Step Down or Step Aside

In the UK, Canada, and South Africa, parliamentary Speakers are prohibited or strongly discouraged from holding directorships in companies engaged in public contracting or regulated industries. Some countries, like Kenya, require Speakers to divest from active corporate board roles upon appointment.

Zambia needs to follow suit if it wishes to safeguard its legislative independence.

Final Thoughts

Nelly Mutti has had a storied career—respected legal advocate, anti-corruption crusader, and now Zambia’s first female Speaker. But the office she holds demands more than capability—it demands credibility.

Her role in a private energy company, however noble the intent, is incompatible with her duty as Speaker. The longer this conflict remains unaddressed, the more Zambia risks blurring the line between public service and private gain.

We cannot afford to let clean energy come at the cost of clean governance.

LCC CUTS DOWN SIMON MWEWA MARKET SHOP RENT TO K1,00

LCC CUTS DOWN SIMON MWEWA MARKET SHOP RENT TO K1,000…

As Full Council Unanimously Approves Councillor Simataa’s Motion to Reduce Shop Rent
=======================================

Lusaka City Council has with immediate effect cut shop rent at the ultra-modern Simon Mwewa Market from the old K1,500 to the new K1,000 per month.

The development follows a motion that was moved by Kamwala Ward Councillor and Audit Committee member, Mainda Simataa, who argued that K1,500 was too high for ordinary marketeers to afford, a situation that led to 99% of shops being empty.

“From an Audit point of view, the market wasn’t performing at optimal level, except for the stands at the ground floor. It became a white elephant, a liability instead of an asset – out of K342 shops, only about 5 were occupied, which led to a cumulative loss of over K1.5 million, we had to bring down the rent to encourage more tenants to move in”.

Council Hon. Mainda Simataa  said the Audit Committee will continue to monitor the marketeers reaponse to the reduction, adding that at the new rate of K1,000 per shop is the lowest the council could go to ensure that they still meet salaries and other operational cost obligations.

The Council has also approved the opening of a UBA banking facility at the market, as the local authority goes cashless, a move that will reduce council revenue collectors to the unflattering job of handling receipt books instead of cash.

Mufumbwe Killings Spark Outrage: Opposition Demands Justice as Over 15 Civilians Allegedly Shot Dead by Police

Mufumbwe Killings Spark Outrage: Opposition Demands Justice as Over 15 Civilians Allegedly Shot Dead by Police.

Outrage has erupted across Zambia following the reported killing of over 15 civilians in Mufumbwe District, North-Western Province, allegedly at the hands of law enforcement officers. The incident, which remains officially unacknowledged by the Government, has drawn sharp condemnation from opposition figures and human rights advocates who are calling for immediate accountability and justice.

In a strongly worded press statement issued on Saturday, Brian Mundubile, Member of Parliament for Mporokoso Central and National Chairperson for the opposition TONSE Parliamentary Caucus, accused the Government of remaining “shamefully silent” over what he described as a “national abomination.”

“We issue this statement with a heavy heart and deep outrage at the silence of the Government… Where is the same urgency when lives are lost?” the statement read.

According to local accounts, the civilians reportedly small-scale miners were killed in what eyewitnesses claim was a violent confrontation with law enforcement deployed to the area. Details surrounding the exact circumstances remain unclear, with no official confirmation or denial from either the Zambia Police Service or the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security as of press time.

Mundubile’s statement suggests the victims were unarmed and engaging in artisanal mining a survival activity common in mineral-rich but impoverished regions. He lamented the perceived double standard in Zambia’s resource governance, where foreign corporations are welcomed and incentivized, while local citizens are criminalized.

“Their only ‘crime’ was attempting to lift themselves out of poverty by mining resources that rightfully belong to all Zambians… Our own people pay for access with their blood,” said Mundubile.

The killings, if confirmed, would mark one of the deadliest instances of alleged police brutality in recent years in Zambia. Critics argue the lack of official communication signals a deeper governance and human rights crisis.

Adding to the political tensions, Mundubile compared the State’s silence on the Mufumbwe killings with its loud and provocative stance on the burial dispute surrounding late former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

“We are equally appalled by inflammatory statements from government officials threatening civil unrest over the burial of our late President… What greater unrest can there be than the mass killing of citizens by the State?”

The opposition has since called on bereaved families in Mufumbwe to publicly identify the deceased, emphasizing that the victims “were not statistics… They had dreams, futures, and families.” The call seeks to humanize the tragedy and pressure authorities into launching a transparent investigation.

Mundubile further decried what he termed the Government’s betrayal of human rights, reminding President Hakainde Hichilema that his administration had once been praised for abolishing the death penalty only to now allegedly oversee extrajudicial executions.

Civil society organizations and legal experts have begun weighing in, warning that continued silence from the authorities could fuel distrust in state institutions and incite unrest in affected communities.

As the nation awaits an official response, calls are growing for an independent inquiry, compensation for the affected families, and a broader reform of law enforcement operations in rural and mining regions.

So far, no government official has publicly addressed the allegations. Efforts to reach the Minister of Home Affairs and the Inspector General of Police for comment have been unsuccessful.

WE STILL HAVE THIEVES IN GOVT — Muchima

By:News Diggers

Health Minister Dr. Elijah Muchima has disclosed that he stopped a suspicious transaction where some engineers attempted to inflate the cost of fixing a crack at Mufumbwe District Hospital.

According to Muchima, the actual evaluation for the works was K2.5 million, yet the officials attempted to push the cost up to K10 million, prompting him to intervene.

This revelation adds to ongoing concerns about corruption and misuse of public funds in government institutions.

SAFELI  CHILESHE: FIRST AFRICAN MAYOR

FIRST AFRICAN MAYOR

#SNAPSHOT IN HISTORY – OUTSTANDING NORTHERN RHODESIA PERSONALITIES

By Eugene Makai

For many Zambians of the current generation, the name Safeli Chileshe doesn’t have an immediate resonance. Yet, S.H. Chileshe occupies an important place in the history of our nation.

Mr. Chileshe was the first African Mayor of Lusaka serving from 1964 to 1965.

A student at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African studies (SOAS) in 1946, he was also an African member of the Northern Rhodesia Legislative Council for the ruling Federal Party (later United Federal Party of Roy Welensky) from 1954 to 1958.

After his stint as Mayor of Lusaka he was elected Member of Parliament on a UNIP ticket for Copperbelt West constituency in a 1967 by-election succeeding independent Member Hugh Stanely. He served until 1968.

Mr. Chileshe was also President of the Zambia Red Cross.

In these photographs, Mr. Chileshe is seen at his desk in his student days at SOAS in 1946, and, also as Mayor of Lusaka being welcomed by British High Commissioner-Designate J. A. Molyneux on 25th June 1964 at the opening of the British Information Services (BIS) office in Lusaka officiated by the Prime Minister of Northern Rhodesia Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda.

213 Suspected Illegal Immigrants Detained in Lusaka Joint Operation as Driver Jailed for Human Smuggling

213 Suspected Illegal Immigrants Detained in Lusaka Joint Operation as Driver Jailed for Human Smuggling

A total of 213 suspected illegal immigrants have been detained following a major clean-up operation conducted in Lusaka on July 4, 2025, by the Department of Immigration in collaboration with other security wings.

According to a statement released by the Department’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Namati H. Nshinka, the operation targeted individuals believed to be residing in the country without valid immigration documentation. The enforcement action, part of broader efforts to address illegal migration and bolster internal security, initially led to the apprehension of 255 individuals.

Preliminary screening led to the unconditional release of 42 individuals, most of whom were Zambian citizens who managed to produce valid identification and residency documents. However, the remaining 213 individuals are still in custody and are undergoing further immigration screening and verification procedures.

Among those detained are:

133 Burundians

44 Congolese

13 Rwandese

12 Tanzanians

7 individuals claiming Zambian nationality

2 Somalis

1 Indian

1 Nigerian

Meanwhile, the Lusaka Magistrate Court on the same day convicted and sentenced a 29-year-old Lusaka man, Blessings Tembo, to two years’ imprisonment with hard labour for aiding and abetting 50 undocumented Ethiopian nationals.

Tembo, a resident of Garden House, was arrested on April 21, 2024, by Immigration Officers in Luangwa District after a tip-off from a member of the public. He was found operating a UD Croner truck branded with the Shoprite logo and owned by Freshmark, the retail chain’s fruit and vegetable distribution division. The truck, which was not carrying any legitimate cargo at the time, was discovered parked near the Luangwa Bridge with 50 Ethiopian nationals, aged between 14 and 35, hidden inside the container.

Tembo reportedly delayed in opening the container when confronted by officers, but later complied. His co-accused, 32-year-old Benson Mfula of Petauke District, who was also arrested during the operation, died before the conclusion of the court proceedings.

The Department of Immigration has since reiterated its warning to the public and foreign nationals, emphasizing that Zambia’s immigration laws must be upheld at all times. It warned that human smuggling is a grave offense with serious implications for national security and public safety, and that those found guilty of participating in such crimes will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Investigations into the detained individuals are ongoing. Further actions, including deportations and formal charges, are expected to follow after screening is completed.

“Mwaka’s Temptation Tapes: Zambia’s Jezebel Returns With Fire and Flesh!”

🔥“Mwaka’s Temptation Tapes: Zambia’s Jezebel Returns With Fire and Flesh!”🔥

“My God, what is this?!” That’s the chorus reverberating across Zambia from the crowded streets of Chawama to the quiet pews of Sunday worship. Just when citizens thought they had closed the chapter on Mwaka Halwindi’s scandalous saga, the gates of digital Sodom and Gomorrah have flung open yet again!

Yes, dear reader. The Queen of Carnal Chronicles, our very own Daughter of Delilah, has returned with yet another unholy episode a fiery continuation that is shaking the very pillars of morality, leaving elders praying harder and teenagers searching faster.

In these latest videos leaked like secrets at a village funeral Mwaka is caught in scenes so steamy, even Lucifer would request a fan. The former beauty queen is seen tending to a wildly unkempt “forbidden garden” with the care of a midwife and the hunger of a fasting breaker on resurrection morning. Some say what she touched needed shears; others say she handled it like a seasoned herbalist taming a snake in the wilderness.

Zambians online are calling her “The High Priestess of Pleasure,” as she delivers moves not taught in any pre-marital counselling class, nor foreseen by our ancestors. She tongues, spins, and bounces with anointing that would put a Pentecostal choir into tongues only, in this case, it’s not the Holy Spirit descending.

At one point, Mwaka climbs her “Adam” like a possessed congregant receiving laying of hands during deliverance. She spits, slides, and swings with the urgency of a woman chasing deliverance only this deliverance is horizontal, sweaty, and camera-ready.

“We need national prayers,” wrote one distressed mother in a WhatsApp group for Sunday School Teachers. “This girl is working for the devil himself. She’s evangelizing with her waist!”

As her tongue danced on the camera like a serpent in Eden, many netizens declared the videos a national disaster, with others ironically baptizing her “Prophetess of the Flesh.” Comparisons to biblical temptresses like Jezebel, Delilah, and even Potiphar’s wife flew faster than a Sunday offering plate when the pastor mentions prosperity.

Meanwhile, men across Lusaka are reportedly struggling to concentrate at work, with one married man seen deleting his Facebook app three times, only to reinstall it moments later, whispering, “The spirit is willing, but the data is weak.”

When our reporter attempted to contact Mwaka for comment, she answered the call but went dead silent the moment the reporter introduced herself. Could it be shame? Or is she cooking up Episode 3: Judgement Day Edition?

Moralists are calling on ZICTA, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and possibly the Archangel Gabriel himself to step in. “What we’re seeing is not just lust it’s a full-blown spiritual attack,” lamented one Lusaka bishop during a live Facebook sermon, where he prayed for young men watching the videos while secretly using another phone to view them.

And while the Church cries, TikTok dances. Memes, remixes, and satirical sermons have emerged some calling Mwaka a “National Treasure,” others naming her “The Devil’s Personal Assistant.”

In the end, Mwaka Halwindi has once again reminded Zambia that in a digital world, sin doesn’t knock it goes viral. As thousands keep refreshing their timelines, one thing is certain:

This is no longer entertainment. This is spiritual warfare fought with pixels, passion, and posture.

🕊️ Final Thoughts:
Lord, forgive us. For we have streamed, screenshotted, and sinned.

Amen and data bundles.

KAY SAYS HE STOPED UNIVERSITY BECAUSE WHEN THE LECTURER WOULD ASK HIM A QUESTION, HIS CLASSMATES WOULD START RECORDING

Kay, one half of top Kopala duo Chanda na Kay opened up about his stay at Cavendish University Zambia when he answered a question from Kenny T 1 ON 1 podcast host Kenny T who sort to find out if the rapper was still in school.

Kay told Kenny T that he had struggled through school as he was constantly being recorded when he went for classes. The rapper was studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

The rapper continued as he revealed one of the toughest experiences while in university. The rapper said he would go for class, looking good with a MacBook and a nice phone, settling on his seat.

When the lecturer would point at him to give a response to a question, the whole class would bring out their phones and start to record him, and so he stopped going for class.

When Kenny T asked if he would return, Chanda would pass a comment about Kay making such moves public like he did when he started.

Kay would defend himself by saying the publicity that came with his enrollment into university was not by his own will. The rapper revealed that he was told to stand, hold a document, and be comfortable.

In his mind, he thought the picture was for a student ID but only to find the school had posted, and so the news of him starting tertiary education went viral.

Kay, who said, “Ulunkumbwa lwandi,” was his reason for starting tertiary education would trend in December 2020 as the public applauded him for his bold move, which most artists who have become a musical success would not take.

Four years later, since his enrollment into Cavendish University Zambia’s BA in Economics programme, Kay says he is still thinking about going back to school whilst Chanda says despite his duo mate persuading him when he enrolled in December 2020, he sees no need of going to seeking tertiary education.

Why are our hospitals and clinics overwhelmed? Foreign policy affects domestic policy- Mmusi Maimane

Why are our hospitals and clinics overwhelmed? Foreign policy affects domestic policy.

The ANC supported two corrupt parties in the SADC region and as those countries failed, their citizens came to South Africa, some followed the legal route and others did not.

The two largest immigrant populations in South Africa are from Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Why is that the case?

The ANC supported and enabled Zanu PF and Frelimo. These parties were looting their nations and causing mass poverty. They were rigging elections but instead of condemning those election results ANC endorsed them.

As a result those who sought to vote out these corrupt regimes failed. Elections were rigged, activists killed and voters frustrated.

The problems in our hospitals and clinics is a result of the dictatorship in Zimbabwe. Those thugs who run that country stole everything including elections. We must be honest about this part of the issue.

We need stronger borders but let’s be clear,  unless we deal with the root causes of the problem which are Zanu PF and Frelimo we will not solve these challenges.

Let us also be aware that there are some who are trying to bury their own failures under the grave of immigration.

Auditors are being murdered on the streets because they have uncovered corruption. There are leaders who have stolen billions from the people for decades and built mansions.

There are leaders who have failed to prioritise education and building manufacturing capacity. They are now playing politics of scapegoating to hide their hand and avoid accountability.

This problem needs to be dealt with at the foreign policy level. We need to stop supporting these corrupt parties and their dictatorships. We need to call for free and fair elections in every SADC nation.

We need to hold those who rig elections accountable. We need to call for election reforms before those elections are due. The ANC needs to realise that there is a new revolution in Africa.

The oppressed are now being oppressed by Zanu PF and Frelimo. They are not the good guys anymore. They are part of the problem.

Kenya president reveals plans to build a church worth $9.3 million at the statehouse in Nairobi

President William Ruto of Kenya has announced plans to construct a new church at the Statehouse in Nairobi, sparking widespread debate on social media and beyond.

The 58-year-old leader, known for his evangelical Christian background, stated that the project—estimated at KSh 1.2 billion (approximately $9.3 million).

It will also be designed to accommodate 8,000 congregants and will be funded entirely with his personal resources, countering earlier reports suggesting the use of taxpayer money.

The announcement comes as Ruto seeks to replace the current Statehouse church, which he described as an inadequate iron-sheet structure unfit for the presidential residence’s stature.

This is not the first of its kind in Africa. Recently, a Ugandan politician built a church to ‘thank God‘ for a successful surgery he received abroad. The move received similarar critics.

Former president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo too spent over $50 million on a national cathedral which dis not see light of day.

CCC Leader Welshman Ncube Apologises To Supreme Court For Citing Non-Existent Cases After Using Ai

Welshman Ncube Apologises To Supreme Court For Citing Non-Existent Cases
CCC interim leader and veteran legal practitioner Professor Welshman Ncube has publicly apologised to the Supreme Court after filing legal submissions containing non-existent and irrelevant case citations, which were generated through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.

The blunder occurred in the matter Pulserate Investments (Pvt) Ltd v Andrew Zuze and Others [SC202/25], where Ncube was representing the appellant. The court submissions, prepared under his direction, listed twelve cases that were either fake or had no relevance to the legal arguments at hand.

“There is no excuse”
In a formal letter dated 3 July and addressed to the Registrar of the Supreme Court, Ncube said he took “full responsibility” for the citation of “defective and non-existent cases.”

“I wish to express my profound regret and apology to the Court for the citation of defective and non-existent cases in the heads of argument I prepared and caused to be filed,” wrote Ncube.

He further explained that the false citations were the result of work done by a researcher from his chambers who had relied on Artificial Intelligence tools to compile supporting case law. The material was never independently verified before submission.

“There is no excuse that can justify such an error,” Ncube said, acknowledging that he had failed to carry out due diligence before submitting the arguments to the apex court.

Apology extended to opposing counsel

The misstep was discovered and raised by opposing legal counsel, prompting Ncube’s apology. He extended his remorse not only to the court but also to the lawyers on the other side of the matter.

“I also wish to apologise to the legal practitioners representing the respondents in the matter for the inconvenience caused,” he stated.

The matter has attracted widespread attention on social media and within Zimbabwe’s legal fraternity, with legal observers warning of the dangers of unverified AI-generated legal content.

Legal circles take note
The NewsHawks, highlighted that the blunder was traced to researchers working at Ncube’s Bulawayo-based law firm, Mathonsi Ncube Law Chambers.

Commenting on the matter, price and tech watchdog ZimPriceCheck warned:

“While AI is a helpful tool, it often hallucinates and misrepresents facts, especially concerning legal matters. This phenomenon, known as ‘potemkin understanding,’ creates the illusion that AI comprehends what it’s discussing, when it’s merely stringing words together based on statistical patterns.”

They added:

“This kind of court embarrassment has occurred in other countries as well.”

The Supreme Court has not yet issued a public response regarding whether sanctions or further action will follow.

Seven Killed in Tragic Train-Vehicle Collision in Mpika

Seven Killed in Tragic Train-Vehicle Collision in Mpika

A devastating accident involving a Toyota Noah and a TAZARA train has claimed the lives of seven people in Nachikufu Ward, Mpika District, sending shockwaves through the Cheweshimfwamba community in Kanchibiya Constituency.

The victims, all residents of Cheweshimfwamba Ward, were travelling in the vehicle when it collided with the train at a railway crossing. Among the deceased was a close advisor to His Royal Highness Chief Luchembe, along with several members of a single family.

Confirming the incident in a press statement issued Saturday, Kanchibiya Member of Parliament Sunday Chilufya Chanda described the loss as both a personal and national tragedy.

“This is not only a heartbreaking loss for the affected families but a national tragedy that has cast a dark cloud over our entire district and constituency,” said Chanda. “We stand with the bereaved in grief, in prayer, and in unwavering solidarity.”

The accident occurred at an unmanned railway crossing in Nachikufu, a known transport hazard in the region. The MP used the moment to call for immediate action by the Ministry of Transport and the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA), urging them to prioritize the installation of safety mechanisms such as barriers, warning lights, and signage at high-risk crossings.

“This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to improve safety at railway crossings across the country,” Chanda emphasized. “We cannot continue to lose innocent lives in preventable circumstances.”

He also appealed to the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU), civil society, and the broader Zambian community to support the bereaved families, both emotionally and materially, during this painful period.

The names of the deceased have not yet been officially released, as authorities continue their investigations and notify next of kin. Meanwhile, community members have begun mourning the sudden and tragic loss, with many expressing frustration over long-standing calls for enhanced railway safety going unheeded.

This latest accident adds to a growing list of rail-related tragedies in Zambia, renewing national conversations around infrastructure development, transportation safety, and the responsibility of state agencies to act before lives are lost.

May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may their families find the strength to endure the days ahead.

SA govt  unveils plan to deport foreign inmates serving sentences

Groenewald unveils plan to deport foreign inmates serving sentences

Correctional Services Minister Pieter Groenewald has announced a collaborative effort with the Department of Home Affairs and other government bodies to develop a system for repatriating convicted foreign nationals to serve their sentences in their home countries, according to SABC news.

The initiative aims to alleviate South Africa’s prison overcrowding crisis and reduce the financial burden on taxpayers, who currently fund the incarceration of approximately 24,000 foreign inmates at a daily cost of R11 million.

Speaking recently, Groenewald highlighted the need for diplomatic agreements to facilitate the transfer of prisoners, particularly with neighboring countries like Zimbabwe. “We are exploring bilateral frameworks to ensure compliance with international law while addressing the strain on our correctional facilities,” he said.

The move follows a recent case in October 2024, where three foreign nationals, two from Mozambique and one from Zimbabwe serving life sentences were granted parole and deported.

While the proposal has sparked optimism, challenges remain, including securing cooperation from foreign governments and ensuring their prison systems can accommodate returnees.

The initiative is still in its early stages, with details on implementation yet to be finalized. If successful, the system could mark a significant step in reforming South Africa’s correctional landscape.

Arson Attack Shocks Melbourne’s Jewish Community

Arson Attack Shocks Melbourne’s Jewish Community

A shocking arson attack has hit Melbourne’s historic East Melbourne Hebrew Congregation synagogue and an Israeli restaurant, striking on the Jewish Sabbath.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog took to X to slam the “vile” incident, calling it a sickening bid to burn Jews alive while they prayed and a brutal assault on Jewish businesses.

The blaze forced worshippers to flee, marking the second such outrage in Melbourne in just seven months, after a previous fire left a congregant injured.Herzog has called on Australian authorities to step up and shield their Jewish citizens, branding antisemitism a “stain on any society” that needs urgent action.

A suspect’s been nabbed, but details are still thin on the ground. This comes as Australia grapples with a spike in hate crimes, backed by a recent R600 million (AUD $32.5 million) government boost for Jewish community safety.

SA Govt condemns healthcare blockades against foreign nationals

Government condemns healthcare blockades against foreign nationals

The South African government has voiced strong condemnation over recent incidents in which certain communities reportedly barred foreign nationals from accessing healthcare services at public clinics.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) called the actions unlawful and a direct violation of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to healthcare for all regardless of nationality or immigration status.

“Taking the law into one’s own hands is unacceptable and undermines the values enshrined in our democratic Constitution,” the statement read.

The government acknowledged growing public frustration over strained healthcare services, citing overcrowded facilities and exhausted medical personnel. However, it urged communities to raise such concerns through legal and appropriate channels.

The South African Police Service, in coordination with the Department of Health, has begun deploying Public Order Police units to affected facilities in an effort to maintain calm. Authorities warned that individuals found intimidating patients or disrupting services would face arrest.

While reaffirming its commitment to addressing illegal immigration, the government said it remains equally focused on expanding healthcare resources and personnel to improve access for all who rely on public services.

Law enforcement agencies, together with the Department of Home Affairs, are expected to intensify operations targeting undocumented individuals in line with immigration laws.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister defends his brother’s absence from the Jota and Andre funeral, and fires back at critics

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister defends his brother’s absence from the Jota and Andre funeral, and fires back at critics!

In an Instagram post, Ronaldo’s sister, Katia Aveiro, wrote:

“When my father d.i.e.d, in addition to the pain of loss , we had to deal with a flood of cameras and curious onlookers at the cemetery and everywhere we went.

And attention was not what it is today in terms of access… At no time were we (the children) able to leave the chapel; it was only possible at the time of the burial, such was the commotion.

At the funeral, there were presidents, coaches of the national team at the time, such as Luís Filipe Scolari, etc. I don’t remember seeing any of them. And they certainly greeted me. The pain blinded me.

About pain/family and real support… You will never know what it means until you go through it. If someone sends me a message criticising anything my brother does, I will block it (completely ignore it), that is, they will only do it once.

It’s getting tiring. The fanaticism. The criticism for nothing, I repeat nothing… S.i.c.k society… We all have families. It is absurdly shameful to watch TV channels/commentators/social networks emphasising an absence (wise) rather than respectfully honouring the pain of a mutilated family destroyed by the loss of two brothers. I am even ashamed to watch. Regrettable.

And so the world goes… Society and opinion. Today they are worthless. They themselves have become bottomless pits. I feel sorry… And w.a.r is also like that. Believe me. Human e.v.i.l is also a w.a.r. And every day we have to fight against it. And so it goes.”

Judge warns Trump against ‘inflicting harm’ on migrants heading to South Sudan

Judge Randolph Moss has issued an emergency ruling deciding to transfer the case involving the deportation of eight men to war-torn South Sudan.

The U.S. Supreme Court issued a previous decision saying that the U.S. could deport migrants to third-party countries. President Donald Trump seeks to deport the men, who are not from South Sudan, to a third-party country. Their lawyers argued in court Friday that it will mean their arrest and torture, if not their deaths.

Politico reported Friday morning Judge Moss, “emphasized that his decision was not one of the now-verboten injunctions. Instead, it relied on two alternative routes the Supreme Court acknowledged remained available for those challenging Trump’s policies: class actions, which allow large groups to band together and sue over a common problem, and the Administrative Procedure Act, a federal law that permits courts to ‘set aside’ federal agency actions that violate the law, including rules, regulations and memos laying out new procedures.”

At one point during the hearing, Judge Moss confessed, “I don’t really know what to make of what the Supreme Court did, because that is one of the downsides of the emergency docket.”

Ruling after a brief deliberation, Judge Moss acknowledged that he takes issue with the idea of sending the eight migrants to South Sudan.

He thanked the parties for responding so quickly on holiday. He added, “I do have grave concerns about some of the issues plaintiffs raise in the case. It does appear that placing people in South Sudan could pose significant risks to their physical safety.”

“I would not want anything to happen to plaintiffs,” such as violent acts or bodily harm, the judge continued. “It goes without saying that even when someone has been convicted of a terrible crime, once that person has served their sentence, the government should not be in the business of inflicting harm.”

“That said, I have not reached the conclusion that it is the government’s goal to inflict harm, and the government has represented that this is not their goal,” Moss clarified.

The judge agreed to put a one-hour administrative pause for the clerk before the case was sent back to Massachusetts, where U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy has presided over another matter in the case.

The plaintiffs begged the judge to give them more time due to the July 4th holiday, as they try to contact the judge. Moss gave them an extra 30 minutes to “effectuate the transfer” of the case, “Law Dork” Chris Geidner wrote on Bluesky. Moss then urged the petitioners to go to Massachusetts to ask for any further relief.

“So if I were to reach merits, it would be a substantial claim, but it seems very related to claims in Massachusetts,” the judge closed. “So, I do think the right thing to do is to transfer it. The government says it won’t waive objections, but also says its view is that jurisdiction doesn’t bar making these arguments in Massachusetts.”

The Department of Homeland Security has a plane waiting to send the men to South Sudan at 7 p.m. EDT.

Thabo Mbeki says DA should consider leaving GNU after withdrawing from national dialogue

Mbeki says DA should consider leaving GNU after withdrawing from national dialogue

Former President Thabo Mbeki has unleashed a blistering critique of Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen in an 11-page open letter, calling the DA’s decision to withdraw from the upcoming National Dialogue “misplaced” and “strange.”

Mbeki argued that it would have been more logical for the DA to exit the Government of National Unity (GNU) entirely, given their evident frustrations with President Cyril Ramaphosa and the African National Congress (ANC).

The DA’s boycott of the National Dialogue, set to begin on 15 August 2025, stems from the dismissal of DA Deputy Minister Andrew Whitfield from the Trade, Industry, and Competition portfolio.

Steenhuisen labeled the move “excessive,” accusing Ramaphosa of double standards for not acting against ANC ministers implicated in corruption scandals.

In response, Mbeki accused Steenhuisen and DA Federal Council Chairperson Helen Zille of arrogance, particularly criticizing Zille’s claim that the dialogue is an ANC election strategy for 2026.

Mbeki defended the dialogue’s legitimacy, emphasizing its origins in a 2016 agreement by the National Foundations Dialogue Initiative, comprising foundations like those of FW de Klerk, Desmond and Leah Tutu, and his own Thabo Mbeki Foundation.

He clarified that the initiative is citizen-led, not ANC-driven, and funded by volunteers and foundations, with additional support expected from the National Treasury. “The National Dialogue will be a true ‘Parliament of the People,’” Mbeki wrote, urging the DA to reconsider its stance to avoid isolating itself from South Africans shaping the country’s future.

President Ramaphosa echoed Mbeki’s sentiments, calling the DA’s withdrawal hypocritical and asserting that the dialogue will proceed without them.

Steenhuisen, however, doubled down, describing the initiative as a “talk shop” that distracts from urgent action needed to address South Africa’s crises.

The letter has sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising Mbeki’s defense of the dialogue and others backing the DA’s push for accountability.

Joy Reid reveals how Melania may be deported in Trump’s plan

On multiple occasions, President Donald Trump has floated the idea of deporting naturalized U.S. citizens, including during a recent visit to a Florida detention camp for immigrants. But that policy could end up being used against his own family.

That’s according to former MSNBC host Joy Ann Reid, who recently interviewed Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) on her YouTube podcast. The Daily Beast reported that Jayapal joined Reid to discuss, among other things, Trump’s new “Alligator Alcatraz” facility in the Florida Everglades. They both pointed out to listeners that Trump said during his visit to the prison camp earlier this week that even native-born U.S. citizens could one day find themselves in federal custody.

“They’re not new to our country. They’re old to our country. Many of them were born in our country,” Trump said. “I think we ought to get them the hell out of here, too, if you want to know the truth.”

Trump also floated that proposal to El Salvadoran President Nayyib Bukele during visit to the White House in April. NPR reported at the time that Trump said “homegrowns” born in the U.S. could one day be sent to El Salvador’s CECOT mega-prison, which is notorious for flagrant human rights abuses. Reid said there was nothing theoretically stopping a future administration from targeting Trump’s wife and family members.

“If you give the president of the United States monarchical-like powers to say, ‘I don’t like your views, I don’t like your take on issues, I don’t like that you’re too liberal, you’re not conservative enough, I’m just gonna take away your naturalized citizenship,‘ well … If we ever get a Democratic president, they could say, ‘I don’t like Melania Trump. She wasn’t born here. She was born in Slovenia. She is a naturalized citizen. She’s outta here,'” Reid said.

“And by the way, Ivana Trump, the late Ivana Trump, who’s buried in the golf course in New Jersey in Donald Trump’s golf club, she wasn’t an American citizen. And three of her children are Don Jr., Eric, and Ivanka,” Reid added. “And maybe the next Democratic president says, ‘You know what? I don’t like the Trumps. And so we’re gonna denaturalize all of the Trump children, whose mother was a foreigner at the time.'”

Trump hasn’t yet denaturalized a U.S. citizen, but White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt previously suggested that the administration hadn’t ruled out a denaturalization investigation into New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) has called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to conduct denaturalization proceedings over rap lyrics Mamdani wrote in 2017.

Elon Musk and Steve Bannon are now at war over third party

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is now in a bitter back-and-forth with former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, after the world’s richest man announced his intent to follow through on his plan to launch a new third party to compete with Republicans.

According to a Friday report in the Daily Beast, Bannon tore into Musk over his proposed “America Party,” which is Musk’s chosen name for his new far-right political party. The MAGA podcaster also openly questioned his immigration status (Musk is a naturalized U.S. citizen).

“No, brother, you’re not an American. You’re a South African,” Bannon said. “You should be deported because it’s a crime of what you did — among many.”

In response to Bannon’s remarks, Musk tweeted to his 221 million followers: “The fat, drunken slob called Bannon will go back to prison and this time for a long time. He has a lifetime of crime to pay for.”

The centibillionaire has promised for weeks that if President Donald Trump signed his massive new budget legislation into law, he would launch his own political party and fund its efforts to oust lawmakers who voted for it. He later said on his X account that the America Party would have a “laser focus” on a 2-3 U.S. Senate and 8-10 U.S. House races in next year’s midterm elections.

“Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people,” Musk wrote.

Musk hasn’t yet named the House or Senate seats he’s targeting or how much money he is committing, but he did spend more than $290 million helping Republicans in federal elections last year. That’s about the same amount of total money spent in Pennsylvania’s 2024 U.S. Senate race, in which Democratic incumbent Bob Casey and eventual Republican winner Dave McCormick faced off amidst $289 million in spending.

Trump ‘very disappointed’ with Putin

US President Donald Trump voiced frustration with Russian leader Vladimir Putin early Friday, July 3, acknowledging that the Kremlin has no plans to end its war on Ukraine.

“I’m very disappointed with the conversation I had yesterday with President Putin because I don’t think he’s there. I don’t think he’s looking to stop, and that’s too bad,” Trump told reporters after returning to Washington from a pre-Independence Day event in Iowa.

“It’s Biden’s war, and I got stuck in the middle of it, just like with immigration and a lot of other things they messed up,” he added. “But I was not happy with the conversation.” he added

During their roughly hour-long call, Putin reportedly told Trump that Russia “will not back down” from the goals of its invasion, according to a Kremlin summary. Moscow continues to demand that any peace deal recognize its territorial gains in eastern Ukraine—a position Kyiv rejects. Russia has also repeatedly turned down American and European cease-fire proposals, even those supported by Ukraine.

Before heading to Iowa, Trump admitted, “I didn’t make any progress with Putin at all.”

Earlier this week, the White House confirmed it had paused some military aid to Ukraine while reviewing U.S. stockpiles. Trump criticized the move, saying, “Biden emptied out our whole country, giving them weapons, and we have to make sure we have enough for ourselves. We’ve given so many weapons, but we are still working with them and trying to help.”

Trump met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at last week’s NATO summit in The Hague and later suggested the U.S. might send Patriot missile systems to Ukraine. On Friday, he also spoke with Zelensky before heading to play golf in Virginia.

Liverpool to pay the remainder of Diogo Jota’s contract to his family, £140,000 per week until June 2027

Premier League champions, Liverpool will pay the remainder of Diogo Jota’s contract to his family following his tragic death at the age of 28.

The Portuguese striker and his brother Andre passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning, July 3, following a car crash in Spain.

Jota, who signed a five-year contract extension with Liverpool in 2022, was reportedly earning £140,000 per week, which amounts to around £7.2 million per year.

The club will pay out close to £14.5 million to Jota’s family, which is the exact amount owed for the last two years of his contract.

This gesture demonstrates Liverpool’s commitment to supporting the family of the late player during this difficult time.

The father of three d!ed just two weeks after his marriage to his childhood sweetheart Rute Cardoso.

He signed for Liverpool from Wolves in 2020 and made 182 appearances for the Reds, scoring 65 goals and providing 26 assists.

Jota won the Premier League title with Liverpool last season and previously won the FA Cup and two League Cups.

Eminem Takes A Shot At Kanye West And His Cousin On New JID Song

Eminem delivered a new verse on JID’s latest EP, and as usual, it generated some controversy for its lyricism.

JID released the “Preluxe” to his highly anticipated fourth album God Does Like Ugly on Friday morning. It is as high-quality as fans have grown to expect from the Dreamville artist. The 4-track EP includes features from 6LACK and Lil Yachty. It also includes a new track with Eminem, who is returning the favor after JID appeared on “Fuel,” a standout from Em’s latest album, The Death of Slim Shady.

The track is titled “Animals (Pt. I),” and it features the pair delivering high level displays of technical expertise, with winding verses that both clock in at nearly three minutes each. Em takes shots at several people, but the most controversial lyrics in the verse are the ones about Kanye West. “With these magazines, I act out like Ye and his cousin,” Em raps about a third of the way through his massive verse.

Of course, that bar is a direct reference to Ye’s song “Cousins,” where he admits to having an incestuous relationship with his cousin when both of them were younger. “Em is foul for that,” wrote one user in response to the line. “What goes through your mind to say this?” asked another. “This is NOT a bar,” wrote a third.

JID Eminem “Animals”

Others were more receptive to the verse, with people saying Eminem “left Earth” and “snapped” during his appearance on the new JID EP. Eminem has often been the subject of criticism in recent years. Some fans continue to enjoy his output. Detractors often feel that the legendary MC is punching well below his weight these days. This verse will likely continue to divide opinion, but that has been who Eminem has always been.

As for JID, he will release God Does Like Ugly on August 8. The tracklist has not been revealed yet, but expectations are high regardless, as The Forever Story was among the most acclaimed rap releases of 2022.

Addressing the allegations, Wiltshire revealed Partey has fully
cooperated with the police and prosecutors for three years,
firmly denies all the charges, and is confident that going to
court will finally give him the chance to prove his innocence
and clear his name.

“He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout
their three-year investigation. [67]Thomas Partey denies all
the charges against him. He now welcomes the opportunity to
finally clear his name,” the statement read.

The Ghanaian star, who turns 32 this year, has officially
departed the Emirates after five years in North London, during
which he made 167 appearances for the Gunners since his 2020
move from Atletico Madrid.

Partey featured in 52 matches across all competitions during
the 2024/25 season, proving his value to Mikel Arteta’s squad
despite an injury-hit spell during his time at the club.
Although Arsenal held talks with Partey over a possible
extension, both sides failed to agree on new terms, paving the
way for his exit.

Miracle in Madina: Woman declared dead in Hajj returns home, stirring community shock

A dramatic incident of mistaken identity has sent shockwaves through the Madina UN community in Accra, as a woman presumed dead and mourned by her family after this year’s Hajj pilgrimage astonishingly returned home alive on Wednesday, July 3.

The unexpected reappearance of Fatima Kassim, days after her funeral had been held, left residents bewildered and, in some cases, reportedly fleeing in sheer terror, believing they had witnessed a spectre or seen a ghost.

The saga began when Fatima Kassim was officially declared dead in Saudi Arabia, with a death certificate issued by Ghana’s consulate providing what seemed like irrefutable confirmation.

Acting on this official documentation, her heartbroken family proceeded to organise and hold her funeral in accordance with Islamic traditions, gathering relatives and community members for the solemn rites.

However, the narrative took an extraordinary turn with Fatima’s sudden arrival, transforming profound grief into a mixture of joy and deep confusion for her family.

Speaking to Citi News’ Umaru Sanda Amadu at their Madina residence, a petrified relative articulated the family’s complex emotions: “I feel happy and sad because we are still confused about the situation. This is like a wonder.”

The incredible error has been attributed to a critical lapse in identification by the Hajj Taskforce.

Alhaji Amadu Sorogho, a member of the Hajj Taskforce, openly acknowledged the mistake, stating, “We have mistaken identity. The most important thing is that the lady is alive and everything is over.”

Further details emerged from Alhaji Iddi Sumaila, Director of Administration of the Hajj Taskforce, who provided a clearer picture of the mix-up at a Saudi hospital.

He explained that two women were receiving medical attention at the time of the error.

“There were two patients there; one had a tourist visa, and the other went with us, but by then their passports were not with them. So we mistakenly gave the one with the tourist passport to this one. Usually, when it happens, it is the embassy that takes control, so they issued the certificate. So we knew that one was gone and one was on admission mistakenly, we exchanged it,” Alhaji Sumaila clarified.

This incident highlights the consequences of identity mistakes in critical situations, especially during mass gatherings like the Hajj pilgrimage, which attracts millions of worshippers annually.

For the 2025 Hajj, an estimated 20,000 Ghanaian pilgrims participated, making robust identification protocols paramount.

The issuance of an official death certificate, a legal document with significant implications, based on erroneous information, underscores a critical vulnerability in the system.

The human toll of such errors is immense.

Fatima Kassim’s family endured the trauma of falsely mourning a living loved one, undergoing the emotional and financial strain of funeral arrangements, and experiencing public disbelief upon her return.

For the wider community, the initial shock and fear, fueled by superstitious beliefs, demonstrate the immediate social impact of such a dramatic event.

This rare case is expected to prompt a thorough review of identification and verification procedures for pilgrims, particularly those requiring medical attention or facing critical health situations abroad. Ensuring foolproof protocols is essential to prevent similar heart-wrenching errors and maintain public trust in official channels, particularly for sensitive international events like the Hajj.

FBI files complaint against a Nigerian fraudster for stealing over $250,000 meant for Trump’s 2025 presidential inauguration

Federal authorities have uncovered a sophisticated cyber scam targeting donors to President Donald Trump’s 2025 inauguration fund.

The FBI has filed a civil forfeiture complaint against Ehiremen Aigbokhan, a Nigerian national, for stealing over $250,000 meant for Donald Trump’s 2025 presidential inauguration.

The scheme, allegedly directed by a Nigerian named Ehiremen Aigbokhan based in Lagos, siphoned off over $250,000 (approximately ₦460 million) in cryptocurrency from a Trump supporter.

The fraud was executed through a Business Email Compromise (BEC) scam, where perpetrators used fake email addresses mimicking those of the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee to deceive victims.

On December 26, 2024, scammers sent emails from a spoofed address, @t47lnaugural.com, designed to closely resemble the official @t47inaugural.com used by Steve Witkoff, co-chair of the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee.

The fraudsters tricked a donor into transferring 250,300 USDT (a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar) to their accounts. Within hours, the perpetrators laundered 215,000 USDT across multiple cryptocurrency wallets to obscure the funds’ trail.

The FBI, with assistance from cryptocurrency firms Binance and Tether, traced the stolen funds and froze approximately $40,000 in two accounts, which federal prosecutors are now seeking to seize through a civil forfeiture complaint.

The agency has launched a manhunt for Aigbokhan. Court documents indicate he used a Binance account registered in October 2024 to facilitate the scam. The FBI is also pursuing an arrest warrant for the suspect.
