Snoop Dogg gifts his wife three rings on her 50th birthday

Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante Broadus, have been together for more than 30 years, and the veteran rapper reiterated his love for her when he gifted her three rings to mark her 50th birthday.

Per Complex, Snoop took his time to explain the significance of each ring when he presented them to her during her birthday party.

“The first ring is for when you became my girlfriend,” the 54-year-old said. “And that meant the world to me, because, in case people don’t know, you’re the only girlfriend I ever had in my whole life.”

The Sensual Seduction rapper, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., and Shante were students at Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California when they started dating. The couple were teenagers at the time.

“The second ring represents when you became my wife,” Snoop explained. “That was the joy of my life because we had two babies—then we eventually made another one, a beautiful daughter. We renewed our vows and did all the things we was supposed to do to stay down as a family.”

Snoop and Shante tied the knot in June 1997, and they share two sons and a daughter. They’re also grandparents.

“The last ring right here is to represent the love of my life,” he added. “So, boss lady, as you enter the fifth floor, enjoy it, live it up, have fun, spend money, and be a great wife, great mother, great grandmother, great daughter, great sister, great auntie, and a great friend. Grow into the person that your grandmother was.”

During a previous inyterview with PEOPLE, Snoop touched on their marriage and why it had stood the test of time.

“Find out what your companion loves the most and concentrate on doing it the most,” he shared. “That’s real love.”

Prophet Walter Magaya’s Wife And Bodyguard Granted Bail As He Remains Locked Up

The wife and bodyguard of prominent preacher Walter Magaya have been granted bail, leaving the religious leader behind bars to fight separate, serious charges. The dramatic legal developments unfolded in a Harare magistrates’ court on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, creating a stark contrast in the fates of the accused individuals.

Tendai Magaya, the wife of the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries founder, was granted bail set at US$500 (approx. ZAR 9 500). This decision came despite the State’s objections.

In her ruling, Harare Magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa acknowledged the seriousness of the fraud allegations but found no compelling reason to keep Tendai Magaya in custody.

“The court found that the State had failed to provide compelling reasons to justify continued detention, noting that Tendai was not a flight risk,” the magistrate stated, according to ZiFM Stereo News. Magistrate Gofa added that “denying bail under such circumstances would amount to a travesty of justice.”

As part of her bail conditions, Tendai Magaya was ordered to surrender her passport and report to the Waterfalls Police Station every two weeks. She is scheduled to return to court on 18 November 2025.

Bodyguard Also Granted Bail
In a separate but connected hearing, Magaya’s bodyguard, Tapiwa Felix Chikondo, was also granted bail. The 34-year-old serving member of the Zimbabwe National Army was released on a US$300 (approx. ZAR 5 700) bail by Harare Provincial Magistrate Tapiwa Kuhudzai. Chikondo faces charges of obstructing the course of justice during the police operation to arrest Walter Magaya at his Waterfalls prayer mountain on Saturday, 1 November 2025.

Chikondo’s lawyer, Stephen Chikotora, argued vigorously for his client’s release, disputing the State’s narrative. He claimed his client was being unfairly targeted.

“He never interfered with the arrest and was not even aware of what was happening up the mountain. The State is trading on speculation,” Chikotora told the court, as reported by ZimLive. “This is not a serious offence — even on conviction, the maximum sentence is one year.”

The prosecutor, Lancelot Mutsokoti, had opposed bail, citing Chikondo’s alleged history of violent behaviour and a pending case for a similar offence.

No Bail For Walter Magaya On Rape Charge
While his wife and employee were granted freedom, Walter Magaya himself found no relief. Magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa dismissed an application for his immediate release, which was based on the argument that he had been detained beyond the constitutional 48-hour limit. The magistrate ruled that while there had been an over-detention, it did not warrant his release.

Crucially, the court also refused to entertain any bail application for the rape charge Magaya is facing, stating it had no jurisdiction. The magistrate advised Magaya to approach the High Court for bail on that specific charge. He was remanded in custody until 13 November 2025.

His lawyer, Admire Rubaya, indicated they would not seek bail for the fraud case at the magistrates’ court but would instead take both the fraud and rape bail applications directly to the High Court. The fraud case involves 13 counts related to an alleged multi-million-dollar housing scheme that failed to materialise, with investigations reportedly ongoing since 2023.

Jake Paul searching for other fighters to replace Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis after civil suit

The high-profile boxing match between Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis may not see the light of day after the latter was slapped with a civil lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend.

Per Sports Illustrated, Davis’ current legal woes have prompted Paul’s representatives to table an offer to fellow boxer Ryan Garcia to rather fight him. The Paul-Davis fight was initially scheduled for November 14, but it appears their bout could be scrapped because of Tank’s recent legal situation.

Most Valuable Promotions, the lead promoter for the Paul-Davis fight, is reportedly looking at having Garcia face the YouTuber-cum-boxer in December.

Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, claims that he physically assaulted her on Monday, October 27. The civil suit, which was filed in Miami, accuses Davis, 30, of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Rossel claims that she was working as a VIP cocktail server at a gentlemen’s club when Davis made his way to the establishment and physically assaulted her on the aforementioned date, Fox News reported. Rossel said the alleged assault happened in the back room, adding that there were no cameras in that area. She also claims that Davis assaulted her in a parking garage after he pulled her through a stairwell, kitchen, and back exit.

Rossel and Davis had reportedly dated for five months before the alleged assault. Rossel also claims that it was not the first time Davis assaulted her, alleging that she has been “physically assaulted” and “choked” by the boxer “at least” four times.

She additionally claimed that in September, Davis threatened her life. Rossel said that she no longer feels safe as she’s now staying with other people. She also said that Davis’ actions have resulted in her experiencing PTSD and anxiety.

“Most Valuable Promotions immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30th, 2025,” Most Valuable Promotions said in a statement, per Sports Illustrated.

“At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted. We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved.”

The statement added: “We will make a determination on next steps once we have completed our review and consulted with the appropriated parties. Until then, we will not be commenting further.”

Davis’ stellar boxing career has been marred by his run-ins with the law. This is also not the first time he has been accused of domestic violence. In June, Davis was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. And though Miami-Dade authorities arrested and charged him with misdemeanor battery in connection with the incident, the case was later dismissed because the victim opted not to prosecute.

Besides the domestic violence allegations, Davis has also faced other legal woes. In June 2023, he was placed under house arrest after he pleaded guilty in a November 2020 hit-and-run incident that resulted in four people sustaining injuries, Fox News reported. He was later jailed after he failed to comply with the terms of his sentence.

Black Female MAGA Supporter Who Trump Ignored Loses Election for Governor of Virginia

Abigail Spanberger, a 46-year-old former CIA operative and three-term congresswoman, is Virginia’s next governor — defeating Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, a vocal MAGA supporter who sought to make history as the state’s first Black woman governor. Spanberger’s win also makes her the first woman ever elected to Virginia’s highest office, according to Decision Desk HQ.

According to 19th News, throughout the campaign, Spanberger focused on lowering the cost of living, improving public education, and rejecting the “chaos” of President Donald Trump’s second term. Her calm, policy-driven approach resonated with voters weary of political division. Democrats not only captured the governor’s mansion but were also projected to sweep all three statewide offices, signaling growing voter frustration with the GOP’s direction under Trump’s influence.

Earle-Sears, a Jamaican-born Marine veteran and the state’s lieutenant governor, made national headlines as a proud Black conservative who embraced the MAGA movement. She ran on continuing the policies of outgoing Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin and made the exclusion of transgender individuals from women’s spaces a central part of her campaign. Despite her loss, Earle-Sears made history as the first Black Republican woman to win her party’s nomination for governor.

Spanberger’s campaign leaned heavily on economic issues, emphasizing the financial struggles facing Virginia families. She criticized Republican policies for raising costs on food, healthcare, and small businesses. Republicans, meanwhile, attacked her positions on immigration and education, but Spanberger — a mother of three daughters in public school — used her national security background to push back and appeal to suburban and independent voters.

In her victory speech, Spanberger celebrated the historic nature of her win, standing alongside her husband and daughters. “It’s a big deal that the girls and young women I’ve met along the campaign trail now know with certainty that they can achieve anything,” she said, acknowledging the women who paved the way for her, including Mary Sue Terry, the first woman ever elected statewide in Virginia.

While Earle-Sears failed to secure an endorsement from Donald Trump, she maintained support from Virginia’s conservative base. Her defeat underscores the difficulty MAGA-aligned candidates face in swing states. As Spanberger and other Democrats like New Jersey’s new governor, Mikie Sherrill, prepare for the 2026 midterms, Virginia’s results may serve as a blueprint for how moderates can prevail by focusing on affordability and rejecting political extremism.

Son who sued parents must stay at Ghana boarding school, judge rules

Son who sued parents must stay at Ghana boarding school, judge rules

A 14-year-old British boy who took his parents to court after they sent him to boarding school in Africa must remain there until at least the end of his GCSEs, a High Court judge has ruled.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was taken to Ghana in March 2024 after being told he was visiting a sick relative.

In fact, his parents wanted him to move there after concerns about his behaviour in London, including absences from school, having unexplained money and carrying a knife, court papers said. The boy denies being part of a gang or carrying a weapon.

A judge ruled on Monday the boy should remain in Ghana and prepare to return after completing the equivalent of GCSEs.

After saying he was unhappy and homesick in Ghana, the boy found publicly funded lawyers and brought a case against his parents to the High Court in London, in February.

He lost his first bid to return when a High Court judge ruled he was at risk of suffering greater harm in returning to the UK.

Then, in June he won a Court of Appeal bid to have the case reheard after the most senior judge in the Family Division, Sir Andrew McFarlane, said there had been confusion in the previous decision.

On Tuesday, the High Court handed down its judgement, which ruled against the boy’s wishes, citing ongoing disruption, including to his schoolwork and to his family life.

Judge Mrs Justice Theis said: “I am acutely aware that the conclusion I have reached does not accord with [his] wishes and how that will feel for him.

“[He] has the talent, ability and intelligence to make this work together with his family. It will be difficult but they all have the common aim for [him] to return to live with his family.”

The boy, who is nearly 15 and has British and Ghanian citizenship, remains in school in Ghana and is studying for his GCSEs.

He previously told the court that he was “living in hell” and was “desperate” to return to the UK.

He described feeling “like an alien” in Ghana and being “abandoned” by his family. He does not speak Twi and said he has struggled to make friends and feels socially anxious.

The boy “welcomes” the judge’s decision to set out a clear roadmap for his return to the UK, said his solicitor, James Netto, of the International Family Law Group.

Mr Netto described the case as “extremely difficult… on every level”.

He said the boy never wanted to be in a position where he was “obliged” to bring court proceedings against his own parents, but their actions “left him with no meaningful alternative”.

“His position remains unchanged: he wants to return home,” Mr Netto added.

The boy’s mother said she would not be able to care for him if he returned to the UK before his GCSEs were over.

She said: “It is really hard to be away from him… I feared and continue to fear if he were to come back now, that he could end up dead. I know he does not see it like that…”

Handing down her judgement, Mrs Justice Theis explained that the boy should “remain living in Ghana with the aim of setting out a road map and taking the necessary steps for [him] to return here after completing his GCSEs”.

She added: “Whether that would take place will need to be reviewed nearer the time.”

The “road map” includes taking part in family therapy funded by their local authority.

Court Ruling Puts Pressure on Zandile Dabula — Was Turning Operation Dudula Into a Political Party a Big Mistake?

⚖️ Court Ruling Puts Pressure on Zandile Dabula — Was Turning Operation Dudula Into a Political Party a Big Mistake?

The recent High Court ruling against Operation Dudula has reignited debate across South Africa. The court declared Dudula’s actions at schools and hospitals unlawful, warning that any member who breaks the law could face jail time.

Now many supporters are questioning whether Zandile Dabula made the right choice by transforming the powerful grassroots movement into a political party.

As a pressure group, Operation Dudula had the freedom to challenge government failure, hold leaders accountable, and mobilize communities without being tied down by the same rules that politicians face. But turning political means working under the law, facing scrutiny, and competing with giants like MK led by Jacob Zuma, the EFF under Julius Malema, and the DA — all parties with money, structure, and experience.

In political terms, Dabula is still young and finding her feet, but her passion and fearlessness remain unmatched. Some believe this move limits her; others think it’s the start of something bigger for ordinary South Africans who want real change.

So what do you think — should Operation Dudula have stayed a fearless pressure group, or is Dabula right to fight from inside the political arena?

Police investigate whether Brown Mogotsi’s alleged shooting was staged

Police investigate whether Brown Mogotsi’s alleged shooting was staged

Authorities are probing an alleged shooting involving controversial businessman Brown Mogotsi, amid suspicions that the incident may have been staged.

The alleged attack occurred on Monday night around 10PM on a Vosloorus highway.

Mogotsi claimed a white bakkie followed his red Chevrolet sedan and fired roughly eleven rounds at his car. Despite the reported gunfire, police confirmed Mogotsi escaped uninjured, and no blood was found in or around the vehicle.

Police have flagged several inconsistencies in Mogotsi’s account. He initially promised to report the incident at the Vosloorus Police Station but has refused to formally open a case. Witnesses have given accounts that differ from Mogotsi’s version, and reports indicate he has changed his story since the incident.

Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, national police spokesperson, warned that fabricating an attack is a serious offense. “Absolutely, we will charge him,” she said, highlighting that a staged incident wastes police resources and obstructs justice.

Mogotsi is a controversial figure linked to multiple corruption probes, including the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry into political interference in South Africa’s criminal justice system. Once a self-described ANC volunteer, the party has since confirmed his membership has lapsed and distanced itself from him.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are analyzing the vehicle for ballistic evidence and continue to seek a formal statement from Mogotsi.

McKenzie rewards South Africa’s sports stars with R9.5 million bonus package

McKenzie rewards South Africa’s sports stars with R9.5 million bonus package

Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, has announced a R9.5 million bonus package to reward national teams for their recent achievements on the international stage.

The announcement, made on October 16, 2025, recognizes what the minister described as a “golden period” for South African sport.

Bafana Bafana received the largest share of R5 million following their qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and 2026 World Cup.

Banyana Banyana were awarded R1 million for securing their place in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), while the Proteas Women also earned R1 million for reaching the final of the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

The Springbok Women and Amajita, the U-20 men’s football team, each received R1 million for qualifying for their respective 2025 World Cup tournaments. The Amajimbos, South Africa’s U-17 men’s team, were granted R500,000 following their historic first win at the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup.

Minister McKenzie said the incentive aims to “celebrate the momentum and inspire future triumphs,” emphasizing that the bonuses reflect the government’s commitment to supporting and developing South African sport.

The funds will be shared among the players and technical staff of the rewarded teams.

South Africa reaches record 508 registered political parties ahead of 2026 elections

South Africa reaches record 508 registered political parties ahead of 2026 elections

Electoral Commission (IEC) has registered 62 new political parties since the 2024 national and provincial elections, bringing the total number of registered parties to a historic high of 508 .

The IEC confirmed that 14 of these new parties were registered in the recent period between August and October 2025.

Of the 508 parties on the register, 295 are registered at a national level, granting them the right to contest in any municipality, provincial legislature, or the National Assembly.

A further 404 are registered at the provincial level, though this figure includes overlap with nationally registered parties.

IEC deputy electoral officer Masego Sheburi clarified that the “registration of political parties is continuous,” indicating this upward trend is a routine but accelerating feature of the democratic process.

This record-breaking number of parties presents a stark contrast to the reality of electoral success. In the 2024 general elections, only 18 of the 70 parties that contested managed to win seats in the National Assembly or provincial legislatures, meaning 52 parties on the ballot failed to secure any representation.

This disparity has fueled a public debate about the practical workings of democracy. Some political commentators and citizens have voiced concerns that votes cast for many of these parties are effectively wasted.

The surge in registrations signals intense political interest ahead of the next local government elections, which the IEC is preparing to hold on the first Wednesday of November 2026 . The commission has allocated approximately R2.1 billion for the upcoming election and is in discussions with the National Treasury regarding its budget.

As South Africa moves toward the 2026 polls, its voters will face a broader, more fragmented political field than ever before, a testament to both vibrant political freedom and the challenges of a crowded democratic arena.

Video Shows Cop Accused of Being Sibiya’s Bribe Collector Collecting a Bag From Katiso Molefe’s Home Days Before Arrest.

Video Shows Cop Accused of Being Sibiya’s Bribe Collector Collecting a Bag From Katiso Molefe’s Home Days Before Arrest.

Shocking video evidence reveals Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, who works with Lieutenant General Sibiya and has been accused of collecting cash bribes on his behalf, leaving Katiso Molefe’s house carrying a paper bag believed to contain something of significant value.

The footage, presented by General Dumisani Khumalo at the Madlanga Commission, shows the incident occurring less than 10 days before Molefe’s arrest for allegedly killing Armand Swart. Khumalo described the evidence as proof of interference with police investigations, some of which had previously been heard in camera.

CCTV footage shows Nkosi at Molefe’s house on 27 November 2024, driving a police vehicle assigned to Sibiya’s office. Although all SAPS vehicles are required to have internal tracking systems, the vehicle Nkosi used lacked the mandatory tracker. Police confirmed it was an official SAPS car.

Nkosi, known as Sibiya’s alleged “money mover,” reportedly warned Matlala that the PKTT was coming to raid his home in search of Jerry Boshoga. Matlala even showed evidence that he knew where officers had briefed for the operation. Police believe Matlala moved Jerry after the warning, hence police did not find him at the house.

Meanwhile, Boy Mthethwa, an associate of Molefe, reportedly called the Hawks after being denied entry to the house, attempting to claim a familial connection to Molefe, but his efforts failed. Khumalo said it was a disastrous day for law enforcement, highlighting the serious interference and corruption within the force.

What do you think? What was in that bag? Do you think Matlala moved Jerry? How deep do you think Sibiya is involved  in all of this?

“I converted from Christianity to Islam, but the more I research, the more confused I get” — Burna Boy

Grammy-winning Afrobeat star Burna Boy has opened up about his ongoing struggle to find spiritual clarity despite exploring different religions.

In a recent interview with Jennifer Hudson, the artist — born Damini Ogulu — revealed that he was raised as a Christian but later converted to Islam as part of his personal search for truth.

According to Burna, he has taken time to study multiple belief systems, yet the deeper he goes, the more uncertain he becomes about what to truly believe.

“Of course, because that’s what your parents believe and that’s what you were born into. Growing up, I was a Christian and then I converted to Islam. It’s like I’ve studied it all, but I’m still out here trying to find out what is really going on, you know? The more I research, the more confused I get,” he said.

How Michael Jackson became highest-paid deceased celeb again, earning $3.5B in the afterlife

He is dead, but his legacy lives on as he continues to top the charts of the highest-paid dead celebrities. Michael Jackson has been named the highest-paid dead celebrity of 2025, earning an incredible $105 million over the past year.

He comes out on top for the third consecutive year, according to Forbes data. Forbes said that since his death in 2009, Jackson’s estate has brought in $3.5 billion, showing his legendary status. “When it comes to estate earnings, it’s MJ, then an enormous canyon, then everybody else,” an estate attorney told the business magazine.

The King of Pop’s wealth has usually been from assets that he accumulated during his life. Much of his fortune this year came from the 2024 sale of 50% of his master recordings and publishing catalog to Sony Music for $600 million, a deal his mother, Katherine, contested, saying Jackson would be against it.

Decades before this, Jackson bought the ATV Music catalog for $47.5 million in 1985 (about $142 million today). It included about 4,000 songs, with nearly every hit written together by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Forbes said. That investment brought $750 million in 2016 (around $1 billion today) when Jackson’s estate sold its stake to Sony.

Besides music royalties, Jackson’s 2009 posthumous concert film This Is It grossed $267 million at the box office and Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour by Cirque du Soleil also brought $160 million, becoming the most successful concert tour of 2012 and earning Jackson more money than any living musician.

The concert’s success led to Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE, which has held a residency in Las Vegas since 2013, and MJ: The Musical, a Broadway show which began in 2022, bringing in almost $300 million in total ticket sales and giving birth to several international productions.

Analysts also expect the much-anticipated biopic Michael, starring Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson, to bring in more millions for the late musician after its premiere in April 2026.

Musicians once again led this year’s highest-earning dead celebrities list, making up 10 of the top 13, who earned a total of $541 million combined before taxes and fees.

“Because of the global appeal of pop music, and the likelihood that star recording artists receive a higher percentage of residual profits than, say, actors from their catalog of movies or TV shows, musicians once again dominate this year’s list, making up 10 of the top 13, who earned a total of $541 million combined before taxes and fees,” Forbes explained.

Apart from Jackson, other musicians who made the list were the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley, Pink Floyd members Richard Wright and Syd Barrett, The Notorious B.I.G., Miles Davis and Bob Marley. Still, the gap between Jackson and these musicians is wide.

Below is the full list of the highest-earning dead celebrities:

  1. Michael Jackson – $105 Million
  2. Dr. Seuss – $85 Million
  3. Richard Wright – $81 Million
  4. Syd Barrett – $81 Million
  5. The Notorious B.I.G. – $80 Million
  6. Miles Davis – $21 Million
  7. Elvis Presley – $17 Million
  8. Jimmy Buffett – $14 Million
  9. Bob Marley – $13 Million
  10. John Lennon – $12 Million

Nicki Minaj responds to backlash she received for thanking Trump after he threatened Nigeria

Nicki Minaj responded to a fan who criticized her for thanking President Donald Trump after he threatened military action against Nigeria over allegations that Christians in the West African nation were being “slaughtered.”

Trump, 79, took to Truth Social on Saturday to issue the threat to the Nigerian government, claiming that Christianity was “facing an existential threat” in the West African nation.

“Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter,” he alleged. “I am hereby making Nigeria a ‘COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN’ – But that is the least of it. When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done!”

Trump, in his post, also wrote that the “United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other countries.”

“We stand ready, willing, and able to save our great Christian population around the world!” he added.

Trump similarly issued another threat on the same social media platform, stating that the United States will “immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria” if the West African nation’s government “continues to allow the killing of Christians.”

Besides that, Trump also said that the United States “may very well go into the now disgraced country, ‘guns blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”

He continued: “I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet.”

Minaj, 42, shared a screenshot of one of Trump’s posts on X and thanked the president and his team for taking the alleged issue “seriously.”

“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God,” the rapper, born Onika Tanya Maraj, wrote. “No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other. Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror & it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice.”

She added: “Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”

Minaj’s comments, however, did not sit well with a section of her fans, with one of them telling her that “we live in a country that wants to weaponize religion so YOUR GAY FANS can be pushed into a corner and silenced.”

But the Anaconda rapper, in a since-deleted post, responded: “Imagine hearing that Christians are being MURDERED & making it about you being gay,” The Independent reported.

She added: “When my home was swatted multiple times with my innocent toddler inside (with maybe 20 officers with guns drawn pointed at our home due to political corruption), you being gay couldn’t save me. Expecting someone to stay oppressed, abused, targeted, harassed & CONSISTENTLY ignored by public figures who were supposed to be helping them says more about you than it does anyone else.”

Nigeria’s population stands at over 230 million, and the two main religions in the West African nation are Christianity and Islam. Despite Trump’s allegations, experts and analysts say that both Christians and Muslims are at the receiving end when it comes to brutal attacks from radical Islamists, CNN reported.

“The characterisation of Nigeria as religiously intolerant does not reflect our national reality, nor does it take into consideration the consistent and sincere efforts of the government to safeguard freedom of religion and beliefs for all Nigerians,” Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said in a statement on Sunday.

“Men Are Not Brave”: Tebogo Thobejane Says Men Now Fear Dating Her After Surviving Shooting

Tebogo Thobejane Says Men Now Fear Dating Her After Surviving Shooting

Actress Tebogo Thobejane has opened up about how surviving a shooting has affected her personal and romantic life.

The former Muvhango star says men have become afraid to pursue her since the 2023 incident that left her injured and her friend paralysed.

“Men Are Not Brave” —Tebogo Thobejane Speaks Out
In a recent Instagram Live session seen Fakaza, Thobejane revealed that her near-death experience has made many men hesitant to approach her romantically.

“Let me tell you something about men. You think that men are brave. Men are not brave. There’s no man that’s gonna come and say, ‘Yah, come, I’m gonna get you. Don’t worry, baby, I’m gonna take care of you because someone wants to shoot you,’” she said.

Thobejane explained that before the shooting, men often expressed interest in her without hesitation. However, things have changed since her name became associated with the traumatic event.

“They See It’s All Over Google”
According to Tebogo Thobejane, potential suitors now distance themselves once they learn about her past.

“You walk into a room, there’s a bunch of men who any other day, if it wasn’t for this shooting, any of them would have taken me, married me, dated me, made me go around the world. But now, when they see it’s all over Google: she’s been shot, this, this, she’s a snitch, she’s this,” she explained.

She added that many of these men are business figures and politicians who fear being linked to someone associated with violence or controversy.

“They have their own dark involvements,” she said, “but they don’t kill people.”

Life After the Shooting
The 2023 shooting, which took place on the N1 highway in Johannesburg, was described as an alleged assassination attempt connected to her ex-boyfriend, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.

Thobejane sustained an injury to her foot while her friend was left paralysed. The ordeal forced her to temporarily relocate to Dubai before returning to South Africa.

Although she has physically recovered, Thobejane said the social and emotional wounds remain.

“It’s affected my confidence,” she admitted. “People judge me based on that incident. It’s like I’ll always be the girl who got shot.”

King Misuzulu To Marry Third Wife Queen Nomzamo In Traditional Ceremony

The Zulu nation is poised for a momentous celebration as His Majesty, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, prepares for his traditional union with Queen Nomzamo Myeni. The ceremony, an umgcagco, is scheduled to take place next Sunday at the kwaKhangela royal palace in Nongoma, a confirmation that has set the province abuzz with anticipation. This union will mark the King’s third marriage, solidifying Queen Nomzamo’s place within the royal household.

The announcement was delivered authoritatively by Prince Gibizizwe Zulu, who conveyed the monarch’s direct wishes to the public.

“The king has asked me to announce to the nation that he is going to have umgcagco with his wife kaMyeni at kwaKhangela on November 9,” the Prince stated. He extended a heartfelt invitation to all, urging, “The nation must come in their numbers to witness the ceremony and celebrate with their king.”

This call is expected to draw vast crowds to the northern KwaZulu-Natal town, showcasing enduring support for the monarchy.

A Rocky Path to the Royal Altar
The road to this wedding has been anything but smooth. An initial ceremony planned for late January was abruptly postponed, a decision that spawned intense public speculation. At the time, the King had entered a period of seclusion to pray for the nation, coinciding with the First Fruits ceremony. The delay was further complicated by the King’s concurrent divorce proceedings from another wife, Queen Ntokozo Mayisela, who had legally challenged the new union. She had argued that marrying Queen Nomzamo while still technically married to her would constitute bigamy. However, a source close to the palace noted, “They have since reconciled, which has allowed the King’s plans to proceed.”

The uncertainty deepened dramatically when a confidential letter was leaked, purportedly from the King, instructing provincial officials to withdraw Queen Nomzamo’s security detail and state benefits. This led to her conspicuous absence from royal events for a period, with many commentators speculating the relationship had reached its end. Reflecting on the tense period, a royal insider shared,

“It was a test of faith for the Myeni family, but the King followed protocol to mend the rift.”

Royal Traditions Mend Fissures
In a decisive move to reaffirm his commitment, the King dispatched a delegation to the Myeni family with a symbolic cow to appease them, a traditional act of reconciliation known as ukukhuza. This gesture successfully smoothed over the tensions, and Queen Nomzamo soon returned to her place at the King’s side during public ceremonies.

“The offering of the cow was crucial,” the insider explained. “It showed respect and a sincere desire to move forward with the marriage as originally intended.”

Despite this reconciliation and the impending nuptials, the King has also been linked to a fourth prospective wife, Princess Sihle Mdluli from Mpumalanga, indicating the dynamic and complex nature of the modern Zulu monarchy continues to evolve.

Harare Man Endures 16 Years Of Abuse From Wife Over Alleged Barrenness

A Harare man has been freed from a 16-year nightmare of abuse after a civil court granted him a protection order against his own wife, who allegedly tormented him over his supposed barrenness. The case, heard before Magistrate Ashton Dube, has shed a stark light on a long-running domestic ordeal where verbal and physical attacks became a daily reality for Mr Leonard Tamiwa.

Mr Tamiwa recounted to the court how his marriage to Thokozile Sibanda descended from peace into a relentless campaign of degradation. He described a home environment where he was made to feel less than a man, a target for constant insults and mockery. The abuse, which began subtly, intensified over the years, leaving him living in constant fear.

“I have lived in fear and shame. I cannot eat properly or sleep in peace. I have been a prisoner in my own house,” Mr Tamiwa revealed.

The situation became intolerably public, with his alleged shortcomings becoming a topic of discussion amongst their neighbours, compounding his humiliation.

Allegations of Witchcraft and Public Humiliation
The court heard that the abuse was not confined to private insults. Mr Tamiwa stated that his wife eventually threw his personal belongings out of the matrimonial home, a property he had built with his late wife. He testified,

“She told me that I am useless and that I have no right to live in that house because I am not man enough.”

He further alleged that the violence and abuse extended to his wife’s relatives. In a shocking twist, Thokozile Sibanda did not deny the assaults. She admitted to lashing out, but justified her actions by making extraordinary claims about her husband’s health. She stated, “I was angry because he could not satisfy me. He is not a man. I even believe he was bewitched because, at one point, I saw worms coming out of his manhood.”

Harare Man Endures 16 Years Of Abuse From Wife Over Alleged Barrenness
Adding another layer of complexity to the case, Mr Tamiwa informed the court that Sibanda was actively trying to prevent his three children from his previous marriage from benefiting from his estate. This, he argued, demonstrated a deeper cruelty and a desire to erase his legacy.

He vehemently denied all of Sibanda’s allegations, pointing to the fact that he had successfully fathered children before their union.

“I am a healthy man, I had three children before I met her. I don’t know what she is talking about,” he told the magistrate. “She is just trying to embarrass me because I reported her to the police and brought her to court.”

After considering the harrowing testimony from both parties, Magistrate Ashton Dube saw fit to grant the protection order to Mr Tamiwa and advised the couple to seek professional counselling in an attempt to address the deep-seated issues that have plagued their marriage for nearly two decades.

Football manager d!es mid-match after suffering heart attack in the dug-out

A top-flight manager has tragically d!ed at the age of 44 after suffering a heart attack during a match in Serbia.

Radnicki 1923 manager Mladen Zizovic collapsed on the side of the pitch after suffering a heart attack 22 minutes into the Serbian club’s match with Mladost on Sunday evening, November 2.

Shortly after, his players and coaching staff were informed later in the match that Zizovic, who had immediately been rushed to hospital after receiving medical treatment, had tragically passed away.

The sad news sparked heartbreaking scenes on the pitch, as players from both teams broke down in tears as they comforted each other in mourning.

According to Mail Online, the game was initially suspended after Zizovic collapsed and was resumed by the referee once the Bosnian boss was transported to hospital.

After the players received the heartbreaking news, the referee abandoned the match.

Zizovic, who was taking charge of just his third game at Radnicki 1923 following his appointment on October 23, retired from his playing career in 2016.

He made two appearances for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, having spent all of his career in either his homeland or Albania.

Radnicki issued a tribute to Zizovic in a statement, as the club expressed their ‘deep pain and disbelief’ of his passing.

‘A man who left a deep mark wherever he worked with his knowledge, calmness and nobility,’ the statement read.

‘Although he spent a short time in Kragujevac, he managed to gain the respect of everyone at the club, among players, associates, and fans, with his energy, professionalism, and human qualities.

‘FK Radnički 1923 expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and everyone who knew Mladen.

His dedication to football, passion for the game, and human warmth will forever remain etched in the memories of all who had the honor of knowing him.

‘Rest in peace, Mladen.’

In a tribute to Zizovic, who leaves behind three children, the Serbian FA wrote: ‘The Football Association of Serbia has received with deep sorrow and disbelief the news of the sudden death of FK Radnički 1923 coach Mladen Zizovic, who passed away during the Mozzart Bet Super League of Serbia match between Mladost and Radnicki 1923 in Lucani.

‘His untimely departure represents a tremendous loss for the entire football community.

‘The Football Association of Serbia expresses its deepest condolences to the Zizovic family, the members of FK Radnicki 1923, as well as all friends and admirers of his character and work.

‘Rest in peace, Mladen. Your love for football and the legacy you left behind will remain with us forever.’

Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade added: ‘With sadness, we received the news that Radnicki’s coach from Kragujevac, Mladen Zizovic, has suddenly passed away.

‘Our sincere condolences to the family, friends, and club

The Bosnian and Herzegovina Football Association also offered their own tribute to Zizovic, writing ‘The Bosnian and Herzegovina football community lost another true sports worker today. Football coach and long-time player for Bosnian clubs, Mladen Zizovic, passed away at the age of 44.

‘During his rich playing career, Žižović played for numerous clubs in our country, among which HŠK Zrinjski Mostar, FK Radnik Bijeljina and FK Borac Banja Luka stand out, and he also wore the jersey of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. After finishing his playing career, he devoted himself to coaching, leading clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

‘His premature departure represents a great loss for Bosnian and Herzegovinan football.

‘The Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with Mladen Zizovic.’

“I’m scared of marriage” -Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy opens up on fear of losing wealth in divorce

Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy has opened up about his fear of getting married, revealing that the financial risk involved in divorce is one of his biggest worries.

Speaking in a chat with Habby Forex, the music producer admitted that the idea of losing half of his hard-earned wealth in a divorce settlement terrifies him.

He said:

“You will see someone that has worked all his life and now has to split his money because of divorce. I’m actually scared of those things. The money I have is for my generation.”

Don Jazzy explained that his fears are based on real-life stories of men who lost significant assets after separation, especially those without prenuptial agreements.

He also revealed that while he has dated in the past, he’s currently single and waiting for the right person.

“I’ve actually dated before. Currently, I’m single. I’m scared, though God’s time is the best. I just want the right person, even though I’m not sure if I’m the right person for somebody’s daughter,” he added.

Cristiano Ronaldo opens up on how his daughters convinced him to propose to fiancee Georgina Rodriguez

Superstar footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, has revealed the heartwarming moment two of his children inspired him to propose to his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, with £1.5m ring.

The former Real Madrid striker announced their engagement back in August after some nine years together.

Georgina, an Argentine-Spanish model also shared the news on Instagram with a photo of her glitzy engagement ring. ‘Yes I do. In this and in all my lives,’ she wrote in a heartfelt caption.

Ronaldo, who admits he’s ‘not a romantic guy’, has now revealed that he didn’t plan to propose to the ‘woman of his life’ the night they got engaged, but it felt like the ‘right time’.

‘It was like 1am. My daughters were in bed sleeping,’ the 40-year-old told Piers Morgan in part one of their new interview.

‘One of my friends gave me the ring to offer Gio (Georgina), and as I was giving her the ring, my two kids come in and say “Daddy, you’re going to give the ring to mum and you’re going to ask her to get married.”

‘I said, “Wow, this is the right moment to say yes.” It was the time. I knew that I was going to do it one day but I hadn’t planned to do it then.’

‘Because my daughters said that and my friends were filming, it was what I wanted and I offered (the ring). I didn’t (get on one knee) because I wasn’t prepared but it was a beautiful moment. I made a speech.

‘It was simple, I’m not a very romantic guy. Well, I am, but I’m not very romantic, not the kind of guy who brings flowers every week to the home. But I’m romantic in my way. It was beautiful and I knew that it’s the woman of my life so I did that and I hope that I did it well.’

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed when he plans to marry long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez.

The football legend had announced their engagement back in August after some nine years together.

Georgina, an Argentine-Spanish model, also shared the news on Instagram with a photo of her glitzy engagement ring. ‘Yes I do. In this and in all my lives,’ she wrote in a heartfelt caption.

Ronaldo dislcosed to Piers Morgan in part one of their new interview that the wedding will take place next summer after the 2026 World Cup.

Asked about when they plan to tie the knot, Ronaldo joked: ‘Not yet. We plan to do it after the World Cup with the trophy! But she is not the person that likes big parties. She doesn’t like it. She likes private things. So I will respect these decisions.

‘One thing that I love, she didn’t care about the ring. She asked me if I was honest, and I said, “I want you and I want to marry you.” I didn’t cry but I had tears on my eyes.’

Experts later estimated that Ronaldo splashed out an astonishing £1.5million on Georgina’s extravagant ring.

The piece of jewellery, thought to be between 15 and 20 carat diamond, was described as ‘extraordinary’ by engagement ring specialist Laura Taylor.

‘A diamond of this size is almost certainly set in platinum for security, which also enhances its colour and gives the ring a timeless finish,’ she said.

‘This is a show-stopping ring, and easily among the most impressive we’ve seen in recent years, which feels perfectly suited to one of football’s most famous couples.

‘If the diamond is natural and of exceptional quality in the D-F colour range with flawless or near-flawless clarity, its value could easily exceed £1.5 million.’

Peru’s govt has announced that it has severed diplomatic relations with Mexico over granting Asylum to former Prime Minister

Peru’s government has announced that it has severed diplomatic relations with Mexico.

The drastic move comes after Mexico granted asylum to former Peruvian Prime Minister Betssy Chavez(pictured above), who is currently under investigation as a co-author of the alleged 2022 coup attempt by then-president Pedro Castillo.

Peruvian Foreign Minister Hugo de Zela shared the decision in a press conference. “Today we learned with surprise and deep regret that former prime minister Betssy Chavez, the alleged co-author of the coup attempt by former president Pedro Castillo, is being granted asylum at the Mexican embassy residence in Peru,” he stated.

The Foreign Minister described the asylum grant as an “unfriendly act.” He also cited repeated instances where the current and former presidents of Mexico have allegedly interfered in Peru’s internal affairs as a major factor in the decision to cut diplomatic relations.

The move immediately drew fierce criticism from Mexico City. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs there issued a statement calling Peru’s decision “excessive and disproportionate in response to a legitimate act by Mexico and in accordance with international law.”

Relations between Lima and Mexico have been severely strained since the ouster of then-President Pedro Castillo in December 2022.

Castillo, a former rural schoolteacher, was impeached by Congress after he attempted to dissolve the legislative body following a months-long political standoff.

Prior to this latest rupture, Peru had already expelled Mexico’s ambassador after Mexico granted asylum to Castillo’s wife and children.

Castillo’s successor, former president Dina Boluarte, also temporarily recalled Peru’s ambassador to Mexico City, accusing the then left-wing president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of meddling for his expressed support for Castillo.

Castillo was on his way to the Mexican embassy in Lima to request asylum, along with his family, when he was arrested. He was subsequently charged with rebellion and abuse of authority.

Betssy Chavez was charged alongside Castillo, and the pair went on trial in March. While Castillo has remained in preventive custody since his impeachment, Chavez was released on bail.

Prosecutors have sought a 25-year prison term for Chavez for allegedly participating in the plan to dissolve Congress, and a 34-year sentence for Castillo, who denies the charges.

ECOWAS has officially refuted allegations of a Christian gen0cide in Nigeria

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has officially refuted allegations of a Christian gen0cide in Nigeria.

The regional organisation described these claims as deliberate attempts to sow division, fuel insecur!ty, and undermine social harmony across West Africa.

In a communiqué released on Tuesday, November 4, the bloc addressed the nature of extremist vi0lence operating within parts of the subregion, including Nigeria.

ECOWAS stated unequivocally that extrem!st networks have indiscriminately targeted people of diverse faiths including Muslims, Christians, and followers of traditional religions.

As independent reports have confirmed over the years, terr0rist-related violence does not discriminate on the basis of gender, religion, ethnicity or age,” the communiqué asserted.

The regional body went on to reject the narrative that militant groups are waging w@r against a single faith or that a gen0cide is occurring.

ECOWAS urged the United Nations and international partners to dismiss these narratives and instead focus on assisting member states in combating terr0rism.

The bloc called on the UN and all partners to “treat as false any claims that these terr0rists’ groups target one group or that there is a gen0cide of one religious group in the region.”

Furthermore, ECOWAS “strongly rejects these false and dangerous claims that seek to deepen insecurity in communities and weaken social cohesion in the region,” the statement added.

The organization further appealed to the international community to continue standing with West African nations in their joint efforts against terr0rism and violent extrem!sm.

ECOWAS’ firm position comes in response to recent controversy sparked by comments from US President Donald Trump. Trump had threatened potential military intervention and suspension of aid to Nigeria over the alleged att@cks on Christians.

Sudan’s warring faction Army generals agree in principle to Trump backed 3-month ceasefire after years of war

In a significant diplomatic development, Sudan’s warring factions—the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have agreed in principle to a US-mediated humanitarian truce.

This initial approval marks a potential breakthrough in the conflict that has devastated the Northeast African nation since April 2023.

Massad Boulos, the US Senior Adviser for Arab and African Affairs, confirmed that both the SAF and the RSF have accepted the initial framework for a ceasefire. “Both parties have agreed in principle, and we have not recorded any initial objection from either side. We are now focusing on the fine details,” Boulos stated.

The US-brokered initiative operates within a framework established by the International Quad (comprising the US, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the UAE) and aims to achieve two primary objectives. First is Humanitarian Access: the proposed truce would last for three months, enabling the crucial delivery of emergency aid across Sudan, where conditions are described as “very urgent and painful,” particularly in El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.

The second is a Path to Transition: the agreement is intended to serve as a stepping stone toward a permanent cessation of hostilities and a subsequent nine-month transition to a civilian-led government.

While direct negotiations are not currently underway, a US-led communication channel is facilitating the process to translate the initial agreement into a detailed and actionable plan on the ground. The agreement offers a much-needed glimmer of hope in a conflict that has resulted in thousands of deaths and displaced millions of people.

The US primary concerns, according to Boulos, remain addressing the immediate humanitarian catastrophe, achieving lasting peace, and preserving Sudan’s unity.

The ongoing conflict between the army and the RSF has defied numerous regional and international mediation attempts for over a year. The success of this latest US-led effort now hinges on securing a complete cessation of hostilities and translating the “agreement in principle” into concrete action.

‘My Proudest moment’ – Football star David Beckham hails knighthood

Former England football captain, David Beckham received his Knighthood from King Charles III at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, November 4, calling the prestigious moment his “proudest moment.”

The 50-year-old football icon, who earned 115 caps for England and played for world-class clubs including Manchester United and Real Madrid, was knighted for his dedicated services to sport and charity.

Beckham shared that it was “quite a moment” for someone from the east end of London to be at Windsor Castle, “being honoured by His Majesty the King—the most important and the most respected institution in the world.” He reiterated to the PA news agency, “This is without doubt my proudest moment.”

Beckham, famously known for his sharp sense of style, attended the investiture ceremony in a grey suit designed by his wife, pop star-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham. Victoria accompanied him, along with his parents, Ted and Sandra.

The footballer shared a charming anecdote, saying that the King had been “quite impressed with my suit.” Beckham, who was inspired by old pictures of Charles in morning suits, stated, “He’s kind of the most elegantly dressed man that I know, so he inspired quite a few of my looks over the years, and he definitely inspired this look.”

Since the honour was announced in June, Beckham has been informally known as “Sir David,” and Victoria as “Lady Beckham.”

Beckham added that receiving the honour was especially significant because he has “always been a huge fan of the monarchy.”

“I’ve been very obviously lucky in my career to have won what I’ve won and done what I’ve done but to receive an honour like this, of a knight, is beyond anything that I ever thought that I would receive,” he commented.

The Knighthood marks the culmination of years of effort to transition from a footballer to a global icon at the intersection of sport, fashion, and business. While he was previously considered for the honour after helping London win the bid for the 2012 Olympic Games, his nomination was initially delayed due to an alleged tax avoidance issue, from which he was subsequently cleared.

Friend of Prince William and star of Big Brother has di£d after falling 100 feet from the roof of a hotel

A friend of Prince William and star of Big Brother has di£d after falling 100 feet from the roof of a hotel in West London.

Duncan di£d on October 30, aged 45, after falling from a rooftop of a seven-story building in the West End. T

he Metropolitan Police were dispatched to the Trafalgar St James hotel after they were alerted to reports of a “man on the roof”. But Duncan is thought to have fallen from the rooftop bar, which has high plastic screens around its edges as a safety feature, before they arrived.

A spokesperson told the press: “Officers responded to concerns for a man on the roof of a building in Cockspur Street, Westminster at 23:02 hours on Thursday, 30 October. The man sadly fell from height.

“Despite the best efforts from the London Ambulance service, he was sadly pronounced de@d at the scene. His death is unexpected but non-suspicious.”

A London Ambulance service spokesperson also told press that they were called to the scene but were unable to save Duncan.

“We were called at 10:59pm on Thursday 30 October to reports of an incident on Spring Gardens, City of Westminster.

“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, paramedics in fast response cars and paramedics from our hazardous area response team. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Back in 2010, before Prince William and Kate got married, Duncan shared what it was like to be their friend. He said that he was one of the first people to realise something was going on between the two.

“Because we’d had Will and Kate in our midst we had royal protection officers swarming the place. We knew that they had hit it off and we knew that something was happening, but they were just left alone to get on with it.”

Arsenal’s Max Dowman becomes youngest-ever Player in UEFA Champions League

Arsenal midfielder, Max Dowman has etched his name into the football history books, becoming the youngest-ever player to feature in the UEFA Champions League.

The 15-year-old prodigy came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute—replacing Leandro Trossard—during Arsenal’s commanding 3-0 victory over Slavia Prague on Tuesday, November 4.

At just 15 years and 308 days old (or 309 days, according to some reports), Dowman shattered the previous record held by German striker Youssoufa Moukoko, who was 16 years and 18 days old when he made his debut for Borussia Dortmund in 2020. Dowman is the first 15-year-old to ever play in Europe’s premier club competition.

Speaking at the post-match press conference in Prague, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was full of praise for the teenager’s composure and talent, highlighting his “personality” and “courage.”

“He comes in, the first ball he takes, he takes people on, he starts to dribble, he gets a foul,” Arteta said. “You cannot teach that. You have it or you don’t, and it doesn’t matter what his passport says.” He added that he was “really happy” with Dowman’s ability to “adapt and have a good performance” in such a high-stakes environment.

The Champions League appearance is the latest in a series of record-breaking milestones for the young Gunner.

Dowman made his Premier League debut aged 15 years and 235 days in a 5-0 win over Leeds in August, making him the second-youngest Premier League player ever, behind only his Arsenal teammate Ethan Nwaneri.

Furthermore, just last week, Dowman became the youngest-ever player to start a match for Arsenal in their 2-0 victory over Brighton in the League Cup fourth round, aged 15 years and 302 days. Dowman, who joined the Arsenal academy at age five, is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting prospects in world football.

Don’t turn Nigeria into another Sudan over false claims — NigeriaForeign Minister warns Trump

Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, has delivered a strong caution to former United States President Donald Trump, warning him not to “create another Sudan” through “false allegations of religious persecution” in the West African nation

Speaking in Berlin, Germany, on Tuesday, November 4, Minister Tuggar emphasized that “careless remarks from influential global figures risk inflaming divisions across Africa.”

Drawing parallels with Sudan’s tragic experience, he pointed out how sectarian and ethnic manipulation once tore the nation apart, plunging the region into crisis and years of instability.

“We’ve seen what has happened with Sudan, with agitations for the partitioning of Sudan based on religion, based on tribal sentiments And you can see the crisis,” Tuggar said.

Minister Tuggar stressed that Nigeria remains a constitutional democracy committed to peace, unity, and religious freedom, directly contradicting claims suggesting state-backed persecution of Christians.

Responding to a journalist who asked about Trump’s “menacing remarks and allegations,” Tuggar held up a document outlining Nigeria’s legal and constitutional commitment to religious freedom.

“What we’ve done is we’ve articulated what our Constitution says about religious freedom, what our federal laws say about religious freedom, and Nigeria’s constitutional commitment to religious freedom and rule of law,” the minister stated.

He further explained that Nigeria’s legal system makes it impossible for any level of government—federal, regional, or local—to endorse faith-based persecution. “All the answers are in there… this is what shows that it’s impossible for there to be a religious persecution that can be supported in any way, shape, or form by the government of Nigeria at any level,” he asserted.

Tuggar reminded the international community of Nigeria’s democratic credentials and significance: “Nigeria has a population of 230 million souls. It’s the largest democracy on the African continent. It’s the largest country on the continent.”

He concluded by underscoring Nigeria’s crucial role in promoting regional peace, noting that countries like Nigeria are left to resolve such problems and that the nation is a member of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council.

The Minister’s remarks follow a sharp increase in pressure from President Donald Trump, who recently accused Nigeria of failing to protect Christian communities from Islamist militant violence. In an explosive warning, Trump suggested the U.S. could deploy troops or carry out air strikes if Nigeria did not act.

In a social-media post, Trump wrote: “If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”

He later reiterated the threat of possible military operations during a press interaction, saying, “Could be. I mean, other things. I envisage a lot of things. They’re killing the Christians and killing them in very large numbers. We’re not going to allow that to happen.”

These statements followed Nigeria’s re-designation on the U.S. list of “Countries of Particular Concern” for religious-freedom violations.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian government has firmly rejected both the claim of a “Christian genocide” and the prospect of unilateral U.S. military intervention, insisting the violence affects people of all faiths and asserting that any foreign cooperation must respect national sovereignty.

GUINEA-BISSAU: PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN KICKS OFF WITHOUT MAIN OPPOSITION PARTY

GUINEA-BISSAU: PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN KICKS OFF WITHOUT MAIN OPPOSITION PARTY

THE presidential campaign in Guinea-Bissau kicked off this weekend without the main opposition party.

The country’s 860 000 voters will head to the polls on 23 November to elect a president and 102 parliament members. They will have to choose between 12 presidential candidates, including current president Umaro Sissoco Embaló, who appears as a favourite.

In an unprecedented move, the coalition led by the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC) has been excluded from the presidential and legislative elections.

The country’s supreme court ruled that the PAIGC and its candidate Domingos Simões Pereira had submitted their nomination too late.

Pereira is a former prime minister and President Embaló’s foremost rival. His party won the last legislative election in 2023

The upcoming vote will be the first general election without PAIGC since Guinea-Bissau’s independence from Portugal in 1974. The country’s political stability is a crucial issue in the vote to come.

Several senior military officers were arrested on Friday on accusations of trying to stage a coup. The army said it had thwarted an “attempt to subvert the constitutional order.”

“This sad episode, which involves some general and senior officers of our Armed Forces, jeopardises the peace and stability so desired for socio-economic development and the attraction of foreign investment,” the armed forces General Staff said in a statement.

Guinea-Bissau has gone through four coup and 17 coup attempts since 1974.

HH would have easily allied himself with Apartheid for ‘economic reasons’ – Sishuwa Sishuwa

HH would have easily allied himself with Apartheid for ‘economic reasons’ – Sishuwa … what happened to ‘I’m not traveling because we are mourning until we bury?’

He writes:

Ever transactional and with little in the way of principle, Hichilema would have easily allied himself with Apartheid for ‘economic’ reasons. South Africa and Namibia are fortunate that Zambia had Kaunda for president, not this one, at the peak of their struggle for independence!

But someone going by the name Chiyanda leaped to Hichilema’s defence, stating: “HH didn’t go to Tanzania because he agrees with whats happening there, he went to strenghten Zambia’s ties with Tanzania. Zambia can’t afford any disruptions with the movement of exports and imports through Dar. Politics is ugly business…” Sentimental Foodie

But Sishuwa shot back. He stated: “Ok, let me try to put this in elementary form so that even someone with your mind can hopefully understand.

First, what happened to “I am not travelling because we are mourning or until we bury”? Or has Hichilema now added lies to Zambia’s exports? Second, if everything is based on economic value, then why didn’t Hichilema attend Mnangagwa’s inauguration since Zambia, according to central bank statistics, exports more to Zimbabwe than Tanzania? Not going there cannot make Tanzania shut down the port services to Zambia for the following reasons: 1. Not going there or sending a junior official does not mean declaration of war; it just means someone doesn’t support or is uncomfortable with what happened there.

Have you heard what is called taking a principled position on an issue? 2. Zambia’s use of the port of Dar es Salaam is not for free. It benefits Tanzania more than it does Zambia because we pay a lot of port charges to Tanzania .

This explains why each time Zambians appear to gravitate towards the use of Durban, Walvis Bay or Beira ports, Tanzanian authorities always take necessary steps to immediately reverse the trend because that means reduced revenue for them.

Therefore, it is business to them not a favour to us. Look at the US for instance. There are a lot of business transactions between the US and China despite many differences and misunderstandings which exist because it is for mutual benefit.

3. The other presidents from SADC and COMESA didn’t go there except Hichilema, so how does someone think Zambia can be singled out for denial of port services leaving other countries like Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi, and Zimbabwe that equally depend on Dar port services? What happened in Tanzania is barbaric, undemocratic and unacceptable.

The decision by Hichilema to ignore this reality, walk on corpses, and dignify the sham election with his presence must be condemned in very strong terms instead of being celebrated or condoned.”

Mundubile asks court to disqualify Hichilema from contesting 2026 elections

Mundubile asks court to bar Hichilema from contesting 2026 elections

PF presidential aspirant Brian Mundubile has filed a petition in the Constitutional Court seeking to bar President Hakainde Hichilema from contesting the 2026 general elections, arguing that he has violated his oath of office and breached the Constitution.

In the petition, Mundubile and Tonse National Youth Secretary Celestine Mukandila asked the court to declare President Hichilema ineligible to stand as a candidate for any election, alleging that his actions in initiating a constitutional amendment process were unconstitutional.

The petitioners are seeking several declarations, including that the President and the Attorney General acted unconstitutionally by initiating a constitutional amendment bill without conducting wide and inclusive consultations with citizens or relevant stakeholders. They argue that this conduct contravenes Articles 8(c) and (e), 9, 90, 91(3)(a), and 92(1) of the Constitution.

They claim that President Hichilema breached his oath of office to protect and uphold the Constitution, and that this breach disqualifies him from seeking re-election as Republican President.

The petition cites a previous matter, Mukandila and Munir Zulu v. Hakainde Hichilema and Attorney General (2025/CCZ/009), in which the Constitutional Court was asked to determine the legality of the government’s decision to amend the Constitution without broad public consultation.

According to the petition, the controversy traces back to March 8, 2025, when President Hichilema, during International Women’s Day celebrations, announced the commencement of a constitutional amendment process.

The Attorney General, through a ministerial statement delivered by JustiMinister Princess Kasune later confirmed that a draft of the proposed amendments had already been produced and was expected to be tabled in Parliament.

Subsequently, on May 23, 2025, Government published Bill No. 7 of 2025 in the Government Gazette, outlining the proposed amendments. The petitioners argue that this process was conducted without adequate public participation or consultation.

They contend that the Constitutional Court later ruled the process unconstitutional, citing the unilateral actions of the Executive and the absence of public involvement. Despite that ruling, the petitioners allege that the President and his government have continued to insist that the Bill will be reintroduced in Parliament.

Mundubile and Mukandila argue that such actions amount to defiance of the Court’s decision and constitute a clear breach of the President’s constitutional obligations. They maintain that President Hichilema’s conduct renders him ineligible to contest any future election, including the 2026 general election.

The petition lists President Hichilema and the Attorney General as respondents and seeks costs.

We are ready to resolve Lungu standoff, engage Lubinda, Brenda Nyirenda urges government

We are ready to resolve Lungu standoff, engage Lubinda, Nyirenda urges government

PATRIOTIC Front acting deputy secretary general Brenda Nyirenda has called on government to open dialogue with party president Given Lubinda, to break the deadlock over the delayed burial of former president Edgar Lungu.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1WjXX4oVfZ/

Nyirenda said the PF is willing to cooperate if it means bringing closure to what she described as a national embarrassment that has dragged on for too long.

She was speaking when she addressed journalists in Lusaka yesterday.

Nyirenda lamented that the continued delay to bury president Lungu had caused emotional distress among party members and the nation at large.

“ [If] Government can engage Lubinda…we are ready to help them handle the Lungu issue. Losing a father figure like President Lungu has been hard for us, and not laying him to rest until now makes it even more painful,” stated Nyirenda.

She however, insisted that the PF under the Lubinda-led faction will not use the ongoing standoff as an excuse to abandon its internal programmes, including the election of a new party leader at the upcoming national convention.

“The unresolved burial has caused us pain, but it won’t stop us from moving forward. We will not use this tragedy as a scapegoat for failing to organise or elect our new president,” she said.

She urged national leaders to handle the Lungu burial issue with compassion and maturity.

“This matter needs empathy, not politics. It’s time to do what’s right and allow the former president to be laid to rest with the dignity he deserves,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nyirenda also shared that the party’s central committee during its sitting on Sunday, November 2, 2025, agreed to kickstart the nomination process for presidential hopefuls, a seven day window that began yesterday.

Economic Diplomacy and the Tanzanian Issue- Dr Lubinda Haabazoka

By Dr Lubinda Haabazoka

Economic Diplomacy and the Tanzanian Issue

I know that in the run-up to elections nothing makes sense because people are already grouped into various camps, but here are my two cents on this issue!

From the opposition’s perspective, it makes sense to shy away from the inauguration because of alleged irregularities in the elections. The opposition tends to celebrate elections in foreign countries where the opposition wins, like in the case of Malawi, because it gives them confidence that a similar scenario can be replicated at home. Opposition political parties often collaborate with other opposition parties abroad, and that is perfectly normal and, in fact, encouraged!

From the ruling party’s perspective, however, the situation is more complex.

Ruling parties generally engage with ruling parties because dealing directly with the opposition in another country can strain relations not only politically but also at the government-to-government level, ultimately affecting the livelihoods of the very people you serve. I remember in 2019, I went to meet President Kikwete to invite him to attend the Economic Summit.

Before meeting us, he had to get clearance from both his government and ours to ensure that we were not some opposition pressure group. In fact, thanks to then Zambian High Commissioner Emmanuel Mwamba and then Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Malanji, who had earlier met Kikwete at an event and assured him that we were legitimate, he agreed to meet us in Tanzania.

Countries are prioritized based on mutual dependence. In Zambia’s case, fuel, fertilizers, machinery, food, motor vehicles, you name it, mostly pass through the reliable port of Dar es Salaam.

When Zambia held its own elections in 2021 and the ruling party lost by a wide margin, there was a lot of tension, with some opposition members seeking revenge. It took the same President of Tanzania to send a former Tanzanian President to help calm the situation and ensure a smooth transition. That’s what good neighbours do, they intervene diplomatically to ease tension and prevent collateral damage.

The region has witnessed disputed elections in the DRC, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe, yet we continue to engage with those countries because we neither decide nor have the right to decide their political outcomes. Our role is to work with the official governments that emerge from those processes.

Now, imagine a situation where the Zambian President denounces the Tanzanian elections and refuses to attend the inauguration. What would happen to TAZARA, INDENI, or the ZTK Power Interconnector? What if Tanzania decided to close the port on us? Imagine if we had denounced Mozambique and they closed their port, what routes would remain open to us?

The decision to attend the inauguration actually places us in a stronger diplomatic position and gives us leverage over Tanzania because we showed up when it was not fashionable to do so.

Remember, we are land-linked because of our neighbours; without them, we are landlocked. It is painful to be landlocked. Before the upgrade of the “Hell Run” between Zambia and Tanzania, we had to airlift fuel into Zambia. That was the situation President Kaunda inherited.

When we had no maize, Tanzania came to our aid. Now that Malawi has no maize, we have come to their rescue. That’s how SADC cooperation works!

So, colleagues, from an economic diplomacy standpoint, there is absolutely no problem with the President attending the event. He has no control over the political outcome of that country. CCM remains in power, and Tanzanian citizens will adjust and move on with their lives. But if you burn bridges, that’s the end of cooperation.

When a couple is fighting, it’s always advisable to stay out of it because when they make up, they might both turn against you for interfering.

We may admire the leaders of the Sahel states, but let’s not forget that none of them came into power through the ballot. Let’s avoid emotional reactions and instead focus on ensuring peace and prosperity at home, fighting tribalism and corruption, and achieving economic freedom in our lifetime.

So, friends, let’s not overthink our presence at the inauguration. Our presence will always matter to our neighbours, no matter what!

Thank you, and have a lovely day!

Hichilema vs The Field: The 15-Year  Opposition DNA

 THE CANDIDATES | Hichilema vs The Field: The 15-Year  Opposition DNA

Hakainde Hichilema did not inherit power. He fought for it across fifteen years of electoral defeats, arrests, propaganda wars, internal fractures and a media landscape that often shut him out. That experience built a muscle that today’s opposition has not yet developed. They face a President who understands their battlefield better than he understands State House. That imbalance is visible every week in Zambia’s political arena.

Two men in multiparty Zambia mastered opposition survival: Michael Sata and Hakainde Hichilema. Sata weaponised grassroots energy, street language and urban anger into a movement. Hichilema weaponised endurance, discipline and institutional pressure. Sata destabilised incumbency with cadence and volume. Hichilema destabilised it with patience and infrastructure. They came from different schools, but they graduated from the same institution: lived opposition.

That is what sets Hichilema apart now. He did not step into opposition; he was forged by it. He knows how frustration builds, how alliances collapse, how public anger cycles and how protests lose steam when they fail to convert into structures. He knows the difference between noise and numbers. He understands what it means to campaign without state media, organise without police permits, and survive smear campaigns without losing message control. Most of his challengers learned politics inside government vehicles, not at roadblocks at midnight.

The current opposition points to shrinking civic space. There is merit in parts of that critique. Police permits remain a friction point. Opposition figures still face legal pressure. But there is also a truth they avoid saying aloud: the UPND environment is not what PF built. The beatings at rallies, the teargas at private meetings, the closed newsrooms, the midnight raid politics, the deathly violence that marked some PF flashpoints. That architecture has not returned. Zambia is tense, not brutal. Debate is sharp, not silenced. That context matters because it strips the opposition of martyrdom. The repression script that worked in the PF era does not convert with the same power today.

Meanwhile, Hichilema’s background keeps trapping them. He expects them to organise. To build ward structures. To produce agents. To pick one candidate. To stay disciplined. To run a message longer than one news cycle. These are not things today’s opposition has mastered. They respond to headlines; he responds to timelines. They chase emotional moments; he chases institutional positioning. They hope the street will carry them; he knows the street only counts if the polling station counts them too.

Yes, Zambia has problems. Load shedding is biting. Prices are testing patience. Citizens are restless. This is ripe terrain for an opposition recovery. Yet the opposition has not capitalised because their politics is reactive, fragmented and personality-driven. They are running against anger, not organising it. They are not presenting an alternative offer, only an alternative emotion. Voters do not reward rage without a roadmap. Hichilema spent fifteen years proving that.

The paradox is simple. The President is vulnerable on delivery, but the opposition is weaker on capacity. He stands on governance challenges; they stand on organisational vacuum. To beat a long-game player, you must build a long-game machine. Without structures, discipline and a coherent economic alternative, they are competing with a man who already solved the puzzle they are trying to read.

Hichilema’s advantage is not power. It is memory. He remembers what they have not yet learned. And until they study the very playbook that beat him for six straight elections before he won the seventh, they will remain stuck in reaction while he governs in strategy.

Working with Hichilema was the right call, it’s paying off – PF MP Kampamba Mulenga

Working with Hichilema was the right call, it’s paying off – PF MP

KALULUSHI PF member of parliament Kampamba Mulenga says her decision to cooperate with the UPND government is paying off, citing a wave of visible development projects that have changed the face of her constituency.

Appearing on Crown TV’s Spotlight programme, Mulenga said the results speak for themselves, from upgraded schools and clinics to youth training and women’s empowerment programmes, all funded through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Mulenga noted that under the expanded CDF and decentralisation policy, resources are now reaching local communities faster and being managed more transparently than before.

“Kalulushi is changing before our eyes. We have new classrooms, renovated clinics, and young people being equipped with real skills. That’s what happens when leaders choose cooperation over confrontation,” she said.

Mulenga commended President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership, describing it as one  focused on results rather than rhetoric.

According to her, President Hichilema’s commitment to decentralisation has empowered local authorities to deliver development that citizens can directly benefit from.

Turning to the political climate, the Kalulushi lawmaker challenged opposition leaders to offer practical alternatives rather than constant criticism, saying Zambians are hungry for solutions, not slogans.

She added that her allegiance remains with people of Kalulushi, not partisan divisions.

“My duty is to my constituency. If working with the government of the day brings clean water, better schools and jobs then that’s the right call,” she stated.

Mulenga reaffirmed her intention to continue cooperating with the UPND government as the 2026 elections approach, pledging to keep pushing for unity, progress and inclusive growth in Kalulushi.

Don’t be fooled Zambians. President Hakainde Hichilema attended the inauguration in Tanzania for political benefits not economic- Elijah Temboh

Don’t be fooled Zambians. President Hakainde Hichilema attended the inauguration in Tanzania for political benefits not economic.

Elijah Temboh writes;

I think SA has been strategic in terms of economic development including Zimbabwe to some extent. HH never attended inauguration in either of these countries because the leaders were democratically chosen. He didn’t go to Tanzania for economic development. They have one thing in common with the President of that country. Both learn from each other and impact the dictatorial way of governance.

A breakdown of African countries that benefit economically from Tanzania whose presidents didn’t want to entertain the dictator.

1. Kenya
– Trade partner: Kenya imports Tanzanian agricultural products and exports manufactured goods.
– Transport and logistics: Kenyan firms use Tanzania’s Dar es Salaam port for regional distribution, especially when Mombasa is congested.
– Tourism and services: Cross-border tourism and business services are growing between the two nations.

2. Uganda
– Access to Tanzanian ports: Uganda relies on Tanzania’s rail and road networks to access global markets via Dar es Salaam.
– Energy cooperation: Uganda benefits from joint oil pipeline projects like the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).

3. Rwanda
– Transit and trade: Rwanda uses Tanzanian infrastructure for imports and exports, especially through the Central Corridor.
– Agricultural exchange: Rwanda imports Tanzanian food products and contributes to regional food security.

4. Zambia
– Mining exports: Zambia uses Tanzanian ports to export copper and other minerals.
– Shared infrastructure: The TAZARA Railway links Zambia to Tanzania, facilitating trade and movement.

5. Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
– Port access: Eastern DRC depends on Tanzanian routes for trade.
– Regional integration: Tanzania’s economic strength supports EAC expansion, which includes DRC as a new member.

When you look at this, ask yourself how many opposition members has our president sent to jail and how many have pending cases? Also ask yourself how of those UPND members involved in criminal activities such as murder, insults, abductions, beating members of opposition are in jail. The answers will open your eyes.

Ukwali insoke takwafwile umuntu!!

Zambians let’s wake up!!

Nkana MP Binwell Mpundu Suspended from Parliament for 14 Days Over Unparliamentary Language

Nkana MP Binwell Mpundu Suspended from Parliament for 14 Days Over Unparliamentary Language

Nkana Member of Parliament Binwell Mpundu has been suspended from Parliament for 14 days for using unparliamentary language during proceedings.

The Speaker cited the phrase “Yateke panshi teyambi lolu,” among other remarks, as the basis for the suspension.

Electricity Crisis: Pressure, Blame Deepens, Reality Bites

 CLOSE-UP: Electricity Crisis: Pressure, Blame Deepens, Reality Bites

Zambia is facing one of its hardest power shortages in modern memory. ZESCO has confirmed that parts of the country are receiving as little as three hours of power a day, citing what it called a “severely constrained” system and limited regional imports. The situation has disrupted normal load-management schedules and triggered public anger, business losses and fresh political debate about responsibility and planning.

Vice President Mutale Nalumango told Parliament that the United Party for National Development should not shoulder the blame alone. She argued that UNIP, the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy and the Patriotic Front all failed to expand firm power generation over decades. “The UPND government could have done better if it had taken over with a robust generation base,” she said.

She also insisted that power exports have been suspended, a claim now under political and legal scrutiny as opposition figures challenge it in court.

On the other side of the conversation, analysts and opposition voices say citizens are not interested in historical explanations. Dr Mukange John Michael described the crisis as a “national tragedy that has sunk into every home and business.”

He argued that the problem is not only drought, but decades of poor planning and slow diversification. He warned that students, clinics, welders, salons and market food vendors are now bearing the brunt, and said the country cannot frame the crisis only as a climate shock.

“Loadshedding is not merely a climate problem. It is a governance problem,” he wrote.

Golden Party leader Jackson Silavwe accused government of underestimating the crisis, pointing to rising food costs, business closures and social strain. He argued that the 100 megawatt solar projects launched this year are insufficient to match the scale of the deficit.

“If the deficit is above 1,500 megawatts, government must be targeting 3,000 megawatts, not incremental additions,” Silavwe stated.

His comments reflect growing frustration that policy announcements have not translated into visible relief.

The technical picture remains harsh. Lake Kariba measured 476.79 meters this week, with roughly 8.91 percent usable storage, leaving hydropower output severely suppressed. Thermal power has been in maintenance cycles during the driest period, and imports remain unstable due to regional shortages. Without batteries, peaker plants or large-scale backup capacity, every lost megawatt translates into longer blackouts. ZESCO has warned that schedules may shift without notice to protect infrastructure from collapse.

Public trust is thinning. Households now face twenty-hour blackouts. Grinding mills, welding shops, butcheries, saloons, Internet cafés and restaurants report collapsing income. Parents report children studying by torchlight. Boarding schools struggle to cook. In Lusaka and the Copperbelt, residents have turned to charcoal, solar lamps and generators, worsening deforestation and raising household spending. The lived experience is not theoretical. It is a daily economic shock.

At the political level, allegations of continued exports remain a pressure point. Some mining contracts operate on commercial agreements predating the crisis, although government insists domestic supply now comes first. Critics argue that transparency is missing. In a high-stress environment, Zambians want data, not assurances. They want schedules that hold, numbers that explain decisions, and realistic timelines for recovery.

The core challenge is straightforward: hydropower cannot carry the system alone, and diversification has lagged behind population and industrial growth. Reform has begun, including open access for private power and tariff restructuring, but citizens measure progress in hours of light, not policy communiqués. Until firm capacity is built, the grid remains exposed to weather cycles and regional shortages.

Zambia is not alone in climate-driven power stress, but politics do not operate in regional averages. Public perception today is blunt. Many people believe President Hakainde Hichilema has failed to deliver on energy stability. The administration counters that it inherited an overstretched system. Both statements contain truth. What matters now is execution. Citizens are not waiting for speeches. They are waiting for electricity.

SOUTHERN CHIEFS PROPOSE ABOLISHING BY-ELECTIONS AND INTRODUCING TWO-TERM LIMIT

SOUTHERN CHIEFS PROPOSE ABOLISHING BY-ELECTIONS AND INTRODUCING TWO-TERM LIMIT

By Kwalombota Mwanangombe

Chiefs from Southern Province have proposed for the abolishment of by-elections to preserve national resources.

Making the submission to the Technical Committee on the Constitution Review, Southern Province House of Chiefs Chairperson, Chief Nalubamba, said in the event an elected official dies or vacates office, a replacement should be appointed from within the same political party.

Chief Nalubamba has also recommended that Members of Parliament, Mayors and Councilors should be limited to serving two terms in office under the Zambian Constitution.

He notes introducing a two-term limit will create space for more citizens to aspire for public office and encourage leadership renewal.

The Traditional Leader has also proposed that the period for hearing presidential election petitions be extended to 21 days.

He states that the current 14-day timeframe is insufficient, especially when petitioners must gather evidence from across the country.
