Iran’s Retaliation Hits India Hard: Strait of Hormuz Closed to Indian Ships After Alleged Betrayal

Iran’s Retaliation Hits India Hard: Strait of Hormuz Closed to Indian Ships After Alleged Betrayal

Iran has barred Indian-flagged vessels from the Strait of Hormuz, choking off a lifeline for 40 percent of India’s crude oil imports. Tehran cites India’s role in the recent sinking of the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena by a U.S. submarine on March 4, 2026.

The Dena, fresh from joint naval exercises hosted by India, was torpedoed in the Indian Ocean near Sri Lanka, killing 87 sailors. Iran views the incident as a betrayal, given the ship had been a guest of the Indian Navy.

New Delhi denies sharing intelligence or facilitating the attack, noting it even offered sanctuary to Iranian vessels as hostilities escalated—offers some ships accepted while the Dena declined.

While Pakistan, China, and Russia face no restrictions, India’s tankers are turned away amid rising tensions. The move escalates economic pressure on New Delhi at a vulnerable moment, punishing perceived alignment with Washington and Israel over longstanding ties with Tehran.

This is no mere diplomatic spat. Control of the Strait decides energy security for millions. India’s silence and balancing act have exacted a steep price.

Trump Lifts Russia Sanctions to Offset Iran Oil Spike, Giving Putin a Win

BREAKING: Trump Lifts Russia Sanctions to Offset Iran Oil Spike, Giving Putin a Win

As energy prices surge from the U.S. war with Iran, the Trump administration quietly handed Vladimir Putin a gift Thursday night, temporarily lifting sanctions on Russian oil stranded at sea in a move that critics say rewards an adversary while ordinary Americans feel the pain at the pump.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the decision late Thursday, framing it as a “narrowly tailored” measure that would not significantly benefit the Russian government financially. The exemptions are set to expire on April 11.

Bessent insisted the move was about protecting American consumers, arguing that Trump’s energy policies have driven domestic oil and gas production to record highs and that any current price spike is a short-term disruption that will yield long-term economic gains for the country.

But the action fits a troubling pattern. Just days earlier, the administration had already eased separate Russian oil restrictions, giving India a 30-day window to purchase Russian barrels. On Wednesday, Trump also announced he would tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, releasing 172 million barrels to ease market pressure.

The backdrop is the ongoing U.S. military campaign against Iran, whose territory borders the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping corridors. A statement attributed to Iran’s newly installed supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, declared Thursday that the strait will remain closed, a move that could send energy prices even higher.

Senate Democrats are demanding accountability. A group of minority members on the Senate Banking Committee, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren, sent a letter this week calling for a congressional hearing with Bessent before the end of March, pushing for answers on why the administration keeps loosening the economic screws on Russia even as troops remain in harm’s way in the Middle East.

The question hanging over Washington is one nobody in the MAGA camp wants to answer: if the goal is protecting Americans from rising prices, why does every solution seem to run straight through Moscow?

Iran’s men’s soccer team HUMILIATES Trump after he tried to THREATEN them away from attending the 2026 World Cup

BREAKING: Iran’s men’s soccer team HUMILIATES Trump after he tried to THREATEN them away from attending the 2026 World Cup — says that “no one can exclude” them from the tournament.

Not even his illegal war on their wives and daughters can intimidate these brave athletes…

“The World Cup is a historic and international event and its governing body is FIFA — not any individual or country,” the team stated in an Instagram Story. “Iran’s national team, with strength and a series of decisive victories achieved by the brave sons of Iran, was among the first teams to qualify for this major tournament.

Certainly, no one can exclude Iran’s national team from the World Cup; the only country that could be excluded is on that merely carries the title of ‘host’ yet lacks the ability to provide security for the teams participating in this global event.”

The 2026 World Cup is slated to be held in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico starting June 11th. Iran is scheduled to play two matches in Los Angeles as well as one in Seattle.

Earlier today, Trump took to Truth Social to issue a statement that was interpreted by many as a veiled threat—

“The Iran National Soccer Team is welcome to The World Cup, but I really don’t believe it is appropriate that they be there, for their own life and safety. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP” he wrote.

There is, of course, nothing inappropriate about the Iranian team showing up to compete in a competition in which they’ve worked hard to earn a spot. What is inappropriate is our demented pedophile of a president trying to scare them off as he wages an illegal war against their homeland on behalf of Israel.

The suggestion that there could be some kind of danger posed  to the “life and safety” of the players is especially shameful. The American people bear no ill will towards the innocent people of Iran. Overwhelmingly, our nation does not support this murderous war of aggression. We welcome them to play here!

Trump publicly admits to FALLING ASLEEP during planning sessions for the illegal Iran war

BREAKING: Donald Trump publicly admits to FALLING ASLEEP during planning sessions for the illegal Iran war!

Donald Trump casually confessed at a rally yesterday that he fell asleep during a planning meeting for his unauthorized war on Iran, while officials and generals tried to get him to pick a name for the deadly and illegal conflict that has raged to this moment.

“They gave me a list of names to choose, Trump told the crowd of MAGAts in Kentucky.  ‘Sir, you could pick the name you’d like, sir,’ I said. ‘The name of what?’ ‘The name of the attack on Iran, sir,’ And they gave me, like, 20 names, and I’m like, falling asleep … Then I see, ‘Epic Fury.’ I said, ‘I like that name.’”

This is far from the first time the president, who turns 80 in June, has dozed off in public and private settings, such as press conferences, Cabinet meetings, roundtables, and even his inaugural “Board of Peace” session with authoritarian world leaders. When called out, he predictably denies it and blames aides for allowing cameras to get the snoring on tape.

Even MAGA voters are seeing it, making insightful observations like “you probably shouldn’t be falling asleep,” considering what an important job he’s got. It’s just another element of Trump’s comic buffoonery, and it is funny.  “Commander-in-sleep.” Lol.

But in this case, the stakes are too high for this foolishness. Trump and Pentagon Pete have poked the hornet’s nest, and awoken a well-armed nation of 92 million who are no doubt planning payback at this very moment.

Trump admitting in public that he can’t stay awake with world peace in the balance is a real reminder that this war is being run by someone with no business leading any such operation, and it’s no wonder it is already leading to sorrow, hardship, and uncertainty for hundreds of millions of people. -Occupy Democrats

HAS SOMEONE EVER TOLD UPND HOW DANGEROUS CERTAIN FOOLS IN NUMBERS ARE?

CIC EDITORIAL ANALYSIS

HAS SOMEONE EVER TOLD UPND HOW DANGEROUS CERTAIN FOOLS IN NUMBERS ARE?

It is one thing to talk about no opposition it’s another to ask oneself how PF a party in total confusion, without proper leadership and factions is still able to pull huge crowds like this.

Zambia is indeed a country that has no serious opposition but make no mistake, PF may not be active in politics at official level or with solid leadership but one fact you can’t take away from them is that they have the biggest weapon unmatched by any political standards-Structures.

CIC has covered by-elections countrywide where if these are properly unleashed they pose a huge challenge to UPND with all the best governance system at play brought by UPND through the republican president unfortunately politics wise they are non-existing.

If the coin was to be flipped and it is UPND that lost power to PF, by now, UPND would not exist at all later alone present itself to any normal person in public following the brutality it had in ruling with it’s cadres, theft of public funds, corruption, President’s children’s lavish styles that LEA’s are after them and so on.

How does one explain the massive job opportunities UPND has presented, the freedom that UPND has brought no more cadres, no more violence, economic reserve picking up, debt restructured, global recognition and so on.

In such a country one would expect that a mention of the word PF everyone will run away from shame and embarrassment because the new dawn really has no place for past instability that almost crumbled the very fabric of the state alas you still have people freely puting on PF with a face of a dead person and cheering they need change. This is a serious case study in modern politics and narrative of understanding the difference between governance and politics and understanding why the two must never be parallel.

PF is not alive because people wants it back or they miss it but because it’s structures that makes it from the foundation are intact and untouched. Whatever they did to keep them solid and get the faith they are enjoying in an overwhelming political environment that doesn’t seem to favor them one needs to ask what is UPND endgame strategy to counter such.

It is the battle of perception and narrative unfortunately as elections comes the Zambian constitution demands separation so that people gets divided and choose who they want in contrast to UPND’s (WE ARE ALL ZAMBIANS).
An army of coordinated ants in numbers can bring down a powerful lion.

The phrase “we are all Zambians” has affected UPND political structure, architecture and establishment to cause political weakness compared to the good deeds and intention it was meant to. At the end it’s politics that makes one be in government and not the other way round. Understanding this distinction helps to navigate the questions why PF still pushes to put up a face often dwarfing other political parties who can be the rightful challengers to UPND.

While PF structures remain solid and intact at grassroot levels amidst the absence of top leadership and instability at senior ranks on the contest to be president, UPND still can’t match them with months towards elections, UPND structures are in no solid base to put a fight sequel to 2021 as many complain of being neglected, forgotten, used and so on. The political paradigm itself is far from grassroot mobilisation but comfortable in the ruling elite circles, deals with people that don’t even help the party that put them in government and so on.

We borrow the narrative of Ms. Laura Miti that President HH may not be really worried about August 13th elections but his MPs are not in good shape, further, the President’s own words; he said he is not comfortable hearing that the President is safe and not his MPs he asks how he will rule if his MPs are not elected together with him: The answer lies how UPND Secretariat is being run currently is it in charge with it’s grassroot structures or not otherwise the MPs are indeed the gamers to watch come August it’s each one for himself and HH for us all. SALT SANA.

5 YEARS OF LAW REFORM UNDER THE HICHILEMA ADMINISTRATION

5 YEARS OF LAW REFORM UNDER THE HICHILEMA ADMINISTRATION

By Derick M Chekwe, ZCLU Acting Executive Director

NEARLY five years after the election of the United Party for National Development (UPND) government led by President Hakainde Hichilema, Zambia has witnessed a number of important legal and constitutional developments.

The administration came into office with strong promises to restore constitutionalism, expand civil liberties, and reform laws that had long been criticised for restricting democratic space.

From the perspective of the Zambian Civil Liberties Union (ZCLU), the reform record reflects both commendable achievements and areas where progress has stalled or taken a worrying direction.

COMMENDABLE AREAS OF REFORM

Among the most historic achievements of the current administration is the abolition of the death penalty. The repeal of capital punishment represents a landmark human rights reform that aligns Zambia with an increasing number of nations that have moved away from the death penalty. This reform reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the protection of life and to modern human rights standards.

The government also repealed the offence of criminal defamation of the President under the colonial-era Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. For many years, this provision had been used to criminalise criticism of the Head of State and had a chilling effect on freedom of expression.

Its removal marked an important step toward strengthening democratic debate and protecting the right of citizens to hold leaders accountable without fear of criminal sanction.

Another major reform achievement has been the constitutional amendment introducing progressive representation clauses in the National Assembly. Through the adoption of a proportional representation mechanism, the Constitution now guarantees seats for 20 women, 15 youths, and 5 persons with disabilities.

These provisions represent a significant attempt to address structural barriers to political participation and ensure that Zambia’s democratic institutions better reflect the diversity of its population. This reform is likely to stand as one of the defining institutional legacies of President Hichilema’s administration.

The enactment of the Access to Information Act (ATI) also represents an important legislative milestone. For many years, civil society organisations had advocated for a legal framework that would allow citizens to access information held by public institutions. The law has the potential to strengthen transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance.

In addition, the government introduced Zambia’s first-ever 2023 National Refugee Policy aimed at promoting the integration of refugees into the country’s social and economic life. This policy signalled an important shift toward recognising the long-term presence and contributions of refugees in Zambia and the need for more inclusive integration frameworks.

Another commendable step is the publication of the Electoral Process (Amendment) Bill, 2026 by the Electoral Commission of Zambia for public consultation before it is presented to Parliament. This marks an important democratic practice, as it is one of the first times a Bill of such significance has been widely circulated to stakeholders for input prior to its formal introduction in the National Assembly.

Such openness provides civil society, political actors, and citizens an opportunity to scrutinise proposed reforms and offer constructive feedback.

However, as with many legislative proposals, the ultimate impact will depend on the details contained in the final version that is tabled before Parliament.

AREAS OF CONCERN AND UNFINISHED REFORM

Despite these achievements, several reform commitments remain unfulfilled or have developed in ways that raise concern for civil liberties and constitutional governance.

One of the most significant concerns is the continued existence of the Public Order Act. This colonial-era law has long been criticised for enabling restrictions on the freedoms of assembly and association. Although the government drafted a replacement law in the form of the Public Gathering Bill, the proposed legislation has stalled at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security with no public explanation for the delay. The failure to advance this reform means that the same restrictive framework governing public gatherings remains in place.

Equally troubling is the direction taken in cyber regulation. While the government repealed cyber laws enacted under the previous administration of Edgar Lungu, the replacement legislation introduced by the current government has emerged as even broader in scope and more punitive in effect.

In practical terms, it increasingly appears that the repealed offence of defamation of the President under the Penal Code has, in substance, been replaced through offences created under the new cyber legislation.

Citizens are continuing to face arrests and charges for remarks or expressions directed at the President, now prosecuted through provisions of cyber law that carry serious criminal consequences. This development risks recreating, through a different legal route, the very restrictions on free expression that the repeal of the defamation law was meant to eliminate.

The enforcement of these cyber laws by the Zambia Police Service has therefore raised growing concern that they are being applied in ways that encroach upon constitutionally protected freedoms, particularly the right to freedom of expression.

Increasingly, there is a public perception that the breadth and severity of these cyber provisions risk elevating statutory power above the spirit and protections of the Constitution, thereby undermining the very civil liberties that legal reform was intended to strengthen.

The reform of the colonial-era Penal Code has also been undertaken through piecemeal amendments rather than through a comprehensive repeal and modern replacement. While certain provisions have been updated over time, the broader colonial structure and philosophy of the law remain largely intact.

It is even more concerning that the offence of criminal defamation continues to exist on Zambia’s statute books. In recent years, the country has witnessed an increasing number of citizens, including politicians, media practitioners, and social media users, being arrested, prosecuted, and in some cases imprisoned under criminal defamation provisions.

This trend raises serious questions about the continued use of criminal sanctions to address reputational disputes that could more appropriately be handled through civil remedies. In a modern constitutional democracy, individuals who believe they have been defamed should ordinarily seek redress through civil courts rather than relying on criminal law to silence or punish critics.

From a constitutional reform perspective, Zambia would benefit from a holistic review and eventual replacement of the Penal Code with a modern criminal law framework that reflects democratic values, protects fundamental freedoms, and eliminates outdated colonial provisions that no longer align with contemporary constitutional standards.

Although the ATI was enacted, its operationalisation has been delayed, meaning that citizens have not yet fully experienced the benefits that the law promised. Without effective implementation mechanisms, the transformative potential of access to information remains largely unrealised.

Similarly, while the government introduced a refugee policy intended to facilitate integration, little practical progress has been made toward implementing it. This risks repeating the experience of the Refugees Act No. 1 of 2017, enacted during the previous administration, which created a legal pathway toward citizenship for refugees but was never meaningfully implemented. Progressive laws and policies lose their value when they remain largely symbolic rather than being translated into concrete action.

The Electoral Process (Amendment) Bill, 2026 itself also raises a number of concerns. While the consultation process initiated by the Electoral Commission of Zambia is commendable, the contents of the Bill contain both progressive and worrying provisions. Some of these provisions, if enacted without revision, could become a source of electoral conflict in the future.

Together with other civil society organisations, ZCLU has already pointed out several clauses that should either be removed entirely or substantially cleaned up to avoid unintended consequences that could undermine electoral integrity and public confidence in the electoral process.

A further concern relates to the legislative process itself within the National Assembly of Zambia. Zambia’s Parliament has increasingly developed a reputation for rubberstamping legislation introduced by the Executive.

Too often, Members of Parliament appear to follow party instructions rather than exercising independent judgment when scrutinising laws that will affect the lives of citizens. When legislators behave as extensions of party structures rather than representatives of the people, the quality of legislation suffers.

Laws should be the product of careful reflection, robust debate, and the exercise of conscience by individual lawmakers.

THE WAY FORWARD

Beyond these specific issues, ZCLU believes that Zambia’s constitutional reform agenda remains incomplete. There is still a need to strengthen the independence of the judiciary by ensuring that judges are appointed strictly on merit through transparent processes and protected from removal through procedures that could easily be abused. Judicial independence remains the cornerstone of a functioning constitutional democracy.

Human rights enforcement mechanisms should also be broadened so that citizens and civil society organisations can more easily bring actions before the courts to enforce constitutional rights, particularly in matters affecting the public interest. Strengthening access to justice would ensure that the rights contained in the Constitution are not merely aspirational but enforceable in practice.

Furthermore, Zambia could deepen the separation of powers by reconsidering the current practice of appointing Ministers from within Parliament. Allowing Ministers to be appointed from outside Parliament would strengthen legislative oversight and reinforce the institutional independence of the National Assembly.

As Zambia approaches the later years of the current administration, ZCLU respectfully calls upon President Hakainde Hichilema to reflect on the unfinished reform agenda that formed part of the government’s initial promise to the Zambian people. The reforms achieved thus far demonstrate that meaningful progress is possible when there is political will. However, several key reforms, particularly those relating to civil liberties, public assembly, cyber regulation, refugee integration, and electoral law, still require careful attention.

ZCLU is particularly passionate about seeing that laws and policies affecting refugees, especially children born in Zambia to refugee parents, are not enacted merely as acts of tokenism or as fundraising instruments from the international community. For too long, Zambia has presented itself internationally as a progressive leader in addressing the plight of refugees, while in practice failing to take the legal and administrative steps necessary for genuine legal integration. Local integration happening by confining refugees to camps is not worth being called integration at all.

Laws and policies such as the refugee framework must not exist simply to attract financial support from Zambia’s cooperating partners such as the World Bank or international praise while remaining unimplemented at home. There must be sincerity and political will to ensure that refugees who have lawfully lived in Zambia for many years, and children born and raised in the country, are able to integrate legally and economically into the society they already call home.

ZCLU will continue to support constitutional and legislative reforms that aim at improving the lives of the Zambian people and those who lawfully reside in the country. At the same time, the organisation will remain consistent in calling not only for the enactment of progressive laws but also for their full and effective implementation.

In a constitutional democracy, the promise of reform must ultimately be measured not only by the laws enacted, but by the rights and freedoms that citizens are able to enjoy in their everyday lives.

Zambia joins aggressor US in co-sponsoring UN resolution condemning Iranian retaliation

‎Zambia joins aggressor US in co-sponsoring UN resolution condemning Iranian retaliation

‎By Angela Moonga

‎Zambia has joined the United States in co-sponsoring a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution that condemned Iranian attacks against Gulf states, despite the USA and Israeli aggression against the former.

‎Iran has retaliated to US and Israeli aggression by striking United States bases in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq and even Israel following the aggression against it.

‎The resolution Zambia has co-sponsored has been criticised by countries such as Russia in that the same did not denounce the US aggression which necessitated the retaliations from Iran.

‎Zambia together with over 130 countries backing a UNSC resolution condemned Iran’s ‘egregious’ attacks.

‎It urgently urged an end to the conflict while cautioning Iran against the dangers of jeopardising shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, which carries 20 percent of the global shipping late for international oil.

‎The resolution condemned what it called “egregious” attacks by Iran on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan, while demanding an immediate halt to all hostilities by Tehran and warning against threats to close the Strait of Hormuz.

‎The 15-member Council adopted the Bahrain-led resolution on Wednesday with 13 votes in favour and none against, while permanent members China and Russia abstained.

‎‎What does the UN resolution say?

‎The Bahrain-led resolution was co-sponsored by Zambia along with more than 130 countries including India, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, Yemen.

OPPOSITION LEADERS SLAM CALLS TO HALT ELECTIONS OVER LUNGU’S BURIAL

OPPOSITION LEADERS SLAM CALLS TO HALT ELECTIONS OVER LUNGU’S BURIAL

Opposition leaders have criticized calls to halt this year’s general elections until late former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, who died in June last year, is put to rest.

New Congress Party (NCP) President Pastor Peter Chanda says the government and Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha should be blamed for the delay in burying the former head of state.

Speaking in an interview with KBN TV News, Pastor Chanda said the burial would likely have already taken place if the Attorney General had not petitioned against the Lungu family’s decision to bury the former president in South Africa.

Pastor Chanda was commenting on remarks by Bishop John Mambo, who proposed that Zambia should not proceed with this year’s elections if the former president is not buried.

However, Pastor Chanda says the decision to put the forthcoming general elections on hold is beyond the government noting that Zambia is a constitutional democracy and that there are no shortcuts when it comes to amending the Constitution.

Meanwhile, National Democratic Congress (NDC) President Saboi Imboela has also expressed displeasure with Bishop Mambo’s remarks.

Ms. Imboela says the country needs elections now more than ever to usher in a new president who would ensure the former head of state is laid to rest.

Meanwhile, Revamp for Development Change –RDC President Robert Chansa has rejected any calls suggesting to halt the elections unconstitutionally.

‎Chikondi Foundation President John Mambo is quoted to have proposed that Zambia should not proceed with this year’s general elections if the late former President Edgar Lungu has not yet been buried.

‎Bishop Mambo questioned how the country could proceed with national elections while the body of a former president remains in a foreign mortuary.

‎He has appealed to Hakainde Hichilema, political leaders, and all stakeholders to prioritise the burial of the former head of state, whose body he said has remained in a mortuary in South Africa, for more than nine months following his death.

Given Lubinda unveils PF Pamodzi Alliance, distances party from Mundubile bloc

Patriotic Front acting president Given Lubinda has announced the launch of the PF Pamodzi Alliance, signalling a political shift away from the Tonse Alliance structure associated with Brian Mundubile.

Lubinda made the declaration after meetings held by PF leadership structures over the weekend. Addressing supporters, he said the party’s Council of Leaders and Central Committee had directed that a new alliance platform be presented to the public following internal consultations on the party’s political direction.

He told the gathering that the decision followed deliberations held on Sunday and Monday, during which the leadership resolved that the alliance structure linked to Tonse would no longer represent the direction being taken by PF and its partners.

Lubinda said he had been instructed to communicate the decision publicly and make clear that the political formation being introduced would now operate under the banner PF Pamodzi Alliance.

Standing before supporters and representatives of several organisations aligned with the opposition bloc, Lubinda described the alliance as a broad coalition bringing together political parties, civic groups and grassroots supporters.

The PF acting president acknowledged members of what he called the Green Ghosts, political parties working with the coalition and civil society organisations associated with the alliance platform. He said the groups had been involved in discussions that led to the decision to launch the new alliance structure.

Lubinda told supporters that the announcement marked a clear transition away from the Tonse Alliance framework that had previously been associated with opposition cooperation. His remarks placed the new alliance as the political vehicle through which the coalition intends to mobilise ahead of the 13 August general election.

He said the leadership had taken the position that the alliance required a structure capable of bringing together different political actors under a single banner while maintaining coordination among the participating organisations.

The launch of the PF Pamodzi Alliance was presented as the outcome of those discussions.

Lubinda formally introduced the coalition under the new name during the gathering, declaring it the platform under which the alliance would now organise its political activities.

The PF acting president said the alliance would mobilise supporters across the country as preparations for the election intensify, with the coalition bringing together political parties, civic organisations and grassroots supporters aligned with the bloc.

His announcement marked the first public presentation of the PF Pamodzi Alliance, positioning it as the structure through which the coalition intends to coordinate its activities moving toward the national polls.

TONSE ALLIANCE IS FOR FDD, PAMODZI ALLIANCE IS FOR PF: SO WHY IS TONSE USING PF REGALIA?

MUNDUBILE’S CRISIS

TONSE ALLIANCE IS FOR FDD, PAMODZI ALLIANCE IS FOR PF: SO WHY IS TONSE USING PF REGALIA?

By Douglas  Kabwibwi

The political landscape ahead of the 2026 elections has exposed contradictions and betrayals that many members of the Patriotic Front (PF) can no longer ignore. The reality is simple and undeniable: the Tonse Alliance is aligned with the Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD), while the Pamodzi Alliance represents the Patriotic Front (PF). Yet, actions by some leaders have blurred the lines and created serious confusion.

Historically, PF was the anchor party of the Tonse Alliance, providing the backbone, structures, and political weight that gave the alliance credibility. Out of selfish political ambitions, Hon. Brian Mundubile—then a PF member—together with certain Tonse leaders, allegedly connived to have PF expelled from the very alliance it had anchored. This move left PF members shocked and many questioning how a party that contributed so much to the alliance could be pushed out.

What followed was even more alarming. Mundubile returned to the Tonse Alliance and was elected as its chairman, after allegedly playing a role in removing PF from its own coalition. This move places him squarely in the spotlight—not just as a political strategist but as someone whose ambitions appear to outweigh loyalty to the party that nurtured his career.

It must be acknowledged that Mundubile has the democratic right to move to any alliance he chooses. Zambia is a democracy, and every citizen—including political leaders—has freedom of association. However, what is deeply unfortunate and problematic is his continued use of PF regalia, symbols, and the legacy of its founding father, Michael Sata, and his successor, Edgar Chagwa Lungu, while operating in a completely different alliance where PF does not belong.

Many PF loyalists view this as a deliberate attempt to exploit the PF brand for political gain. By invoking ECL’s name and symbols, Mundubile is creating confusion among the grassroots, misleading PF supporters into believing that the Tonse Alliance represents the party or its legacy. This is compounded by the formation of the so-called “ECL Movement”, which he created together with MPs who had previously turned against ECL while he was still alive. The movement is seen by many as a calculated strategy to appropriate the legacy of PF leadership for personal political mileage.

Mundubile’s past behavior only adds weight to these concerns. During ECL’s lifetime, he is widely believed to have worked behind the scenes to turn PF Members of Parliament against the former president, fostering internal divisions while publicly presenting himself as loyal. This dual approach—betrayal behind closed doors while maintaining a public façade of allegiance—is a hallmark of his political maneuvering.

Now, with ECL gone, Mundubile’s actions speak even louder. He has positioned himself as a central figure in Tonse, continuing to leverage PF symbols and the memory of ECL to consolidate influence, while PF itself remains outside the alliance. For many, this is a direct attack on the party he once served, a betrayal of the very institutions and leaders that enabled his rise.

The legacy of Michael Sata and Edgar Chagwa Lungu was built on loyalty, sacrifice, and principled leadership. To see it manipulated for individual political gain is deeply troubling. Mundubile’s actions highlight a leader who is ambitious, calculating, and willing to exploit party structures and historical legacies for personal advantage, even if it means creating confusion and division among loyal PF supporters.

PF members must now remain vigilant. Mundubile’s maneuvers make one thing clear: he is a figure who prioritizes personal political ambition over loyalty to the party. If PF is to protect its identity, legacy, and credibility, members must recognize and respond to the implications of his actions.

The question remains for all Zambians: should a leader be judged by loyalty to institutions and principles, or by the pursuit of personal power at any cost? Mundubile’s actions place him firmly in the latter category, and his political legacy will be remembered not for service, but for strategic betrayal.

The Patriotic Front was built through sacrifice, unity, and visionary leadership. Its legacy belongs to the party and its people—not to individuals who seek to exploit it for personal gain.

UPND TO RETAIN CURRENT PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATES

UPND TO RETAIN CURRENT PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATES

The United Party for National Development (UPND) says it will only adopt new parliamentary candidates in constituencies that will be created after the forthcoming delimitation exercise and not in already existing constituencies.

Byta FM Monze Journalist reports that UPND National Trustee Member Grace Chivube explained that the party intends to retain its current Members of Parliament in existing constituencies because they already understand their responsibilities and the party’s development agenda.

Speaking during the Youth Day celebrations in Bweengwa Constituency, Chivube said the party does not have time to begin orienting new MPs when there are leaders who already have experience in managing constituency affairs.

She stated that the ruling party will only consider adopting new candidates in constituencies that will be created once the delimitation exercise is completed by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).

Chivube further urged party members to remain united and continue supporting the current leadership as the country moves closer to the next general elections.

Meanwhile, Jack Mwiimbu, the Member of Parliament for Monze Central Constituency, has advised aspiring candidates to campaign across the entire constituency as the party awaits confirmation on which constituencies will be affected by the delimitation exercise.

Mwiimbu said no one currently knows which constituencies will be divided, making it important for aspiring candidates to engage all communities within their constituencies.

He explained that campaigning widely will help aspiring candidates remain popular and visible among voters even if their constituencies are not delimited.

UNDERSTANDING THE PAMODZI ALLIANCE

UNDERSTANDING THE PAMODZI ALLIANCE

SUBJECT: Moving from “Tonse” to “PF Pamodzi” — Protecting Our Identity

1. Why did we leave the Tonse Alliance?
The Tonse Alliance was formed with the Patriotic Front (PF) as the Anchor Party. This meant the PF was the leader, the provider of the Presidential candidate, and the engine of the alliance. However, some partners began to act in bad faith:
Betrayal of Leadership: While our leader, President Edgar Chagwa Lungu (ECL), was away for medical reasons, some partners tried to “suspend” our Secretary General and Chairman.

Identity Theft: These partners began using our green color and the name of ECL to create a new “movement” (ECL PF Political Movement) to confuse our members and steal our structures.

Disrespect: Despite PF being the largest opposition party, some “small” parties treated our leadership with contempt. We cannot stay in a house where the guest tries to chase away the owner.

2. What is the “PF Pamodzi Alliance”?
Pamodzi means Together. This is not just a new name; it is a Reclamation.
PF is the Boss: In this alliance, the Patriotic Front is the undisputed leader. We are no longer “surrounding” others; others are joining us.

The Green Ghost is Alive: This alliance belongs to the followers of Michael Sata and Edgar Lungu. It ensures that the “Green Ghost” (the spirit of the PF) remains the primary force to challenge the UPND.
Truth and Loyalty: We are only partnering with parties that respect the PF constitution and our internal leadership.

3. The “ECL Legacy” Clarification
There has been a lot of misinformation regarding our late President, Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
The Truth: ECL lived, served, and died as the President of the Patriotic Front.
The Warning: Anyone telling you there is an “ECL Party” or “ECL Movement” outside of the PF is an imposter. They are using a dead man’s name to divide his living family (the PF).

4. What does this mean for YOU as a member?
One Identity: You are a member of the PF. Your alliance is PF Pamodzi.
Clear Boundaries: You are forbidden from attending meetings or wearing regalia for the “Tonse Alliance” or the “Dunamis/FDD” groups. These are now rival organizations.
Defend the Structure: If you see any member or leader trying to take PF members to these other groups, report them to your Chairman immediately. They are considered to have resigned from the PF.

5. The Goal: August 13, 2026
The establishment of PF Pamodzi is about winning. We proved in Chawama and Kasama that when we stand as PF, we are strong. By clearing out the “mischievous” partners now, we ensure that by 2026, we have a clean, loyal, and powerful machine ready to remove the UPND from power.

U.S. intelligence assessments show Iran’s leadership remains largely intact and is not in danger

U.S. intelligence assessments show Iran’s leadership remains largely intact and is not in danger of collapsing any time soon, despite nearly two weeks of U.S. and Israeli strikes.

Reuters reported Wednesday that a “multitude” of intelligence reports, according to three people familiar with the findings, offer “consistent analysis that the regime is not in danger” and “retains control of the Iranian public,” with the most recent assessment completed within the past few days.

The reporting points to surprising resilience inside Iran’s clerical system even after the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Feb. 28, the first day of the war. Reuters said the assessments indicate that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and interim leaders who took power after Khamenei’s death still control the country. The Assembly of Experts has since declared Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba, Iran’s new supreme leader.

That outlook complicates President Donald Trump’s search for an endgame. Reuters reported that, with political pressure rising over oil costs, Trump, in a brief interview with Axios on Wednesday, suggested he wants to end the biggest U.S. military operation since 2003 “soon.” But if Iran’s hardline leadership stays firmly entrenched, it may be difficult for Washington and Jerusalem to claim a decisive political outcome.

Israeli officials, in private discussions, have also acknowledged there is no certainty the war will topple the clerical government, though people familiar with the matter cautioned that conditions inside Iran remain fluid and could still change.

Since the war began, the U.S. and Israel have struck Iranian air defenses, nuclear facilities and senior officials. Trump initially urged Iranians to “take over your government,” but top aides later denied to Reuters that regime change was the formal objective.

The same report said it remains unclear how the current air campaign alone would bring down the government, and noted that the Trump administration still has not ruled out sending U.S. troops into Iran.

ISRAEL FURIOUS AS MORE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES JOIN SOUTH AFRICA AT THE WORLD COURT — NETHERLANDS AND ICELAND NOW STEP IN TO BACK THE GENOCIDE CASE OVER THE WAR IN GAZA

The international legal battle between South Africa and Israel is gaining more global attention after the Netherlands and Iceland officially joined the case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague.

South Africa took the bold step in late 2023 by accusing Israel of violating the 1948 Genocide Convention during its military campaign in Gaza following the October 7 attacks carried out by Hamas in Israel.

Authorities in Gaza claim that more than 45,000 Palestinians have died since the conflict escalated. Israel strongly disputes parts of these figures and insists its military operations are targeting militant groups as part of its right to self-defence.

By filing formal declarations with the ICJ, the Netherlands and Iceland are now joining a growing group of nations that want to participate in the case and help interpret the Genocide Convention in court.

Their decision means more countries are now lining up behind South Africa, turning the case into one of the most closely watched international legal battles in the world.

The International Court of Justice has not yet made a final ruling, but the increasing number of countries stepping in shows the case is becoming a global political and legal showdown.

🌍 As more nations get involved, the pressure on Israel continues to grow — and the world is watching closely to see what the court will ultimately decide.

Russia Sends Il-76 Aircraft With 13 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Iran Via Azerbaijan

Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations has dispatched a special humanitarian flight carrying more than 13 tons of medical aid to Iran, according to regional media reports.

The shipment was transported aboard a Russian Il-76 military transport aircraft, which delivered a large consignment of first aid kits, medicines, and pharmaceutical supplies intended to support civilians in Iran. The aircraft landed at Lankaran International Airport in Azerbaijan, where the cargo is being transferred to ground transport before crossing into Iran through the Astara border crossing.

Officials said the humanitarian cargo includes essential medical and pharmaceutical supplies designed to assist Iranian civilians, highlighting Russia’s use of Azerbaijan as a logistical transit route for the delivery.

The aid delivery underscores ongoing regional coordination for humanitarian assistance, with Azerbaijan facilitating the transfer of the shipment from air transport to overland routes leading into Iran.

The US ambassador to South Africa has apologised about remarks he made about the “Kill the Boer” chant

US ambassador Leo Brent Bozell III has apologised after being formally called in by South Africa over remarks government described as undiplomatic.

International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola said the comments risked polarising the country, especially after Bozell questioned the Constitutional Court’s stance on the “Kill the Boer” chant.

Government says the apology followed a meeting with senior officials, where Bozell expressed regret for creating the impression that he was undermining South Africa’s judiciary.

Despite the diplomatic clash, Pretoria says the US remains a key strategic partner, with strong trade ties and major shared economic interests.

Iran Defies Calls for Ceasefire: “You Don’t Start a War Then Demand Peace on Your Terms”

Iran Defies Calls for Ceasefire: “You Don’t Start a War Then Demand Peace on Your Terms”

Tehran draws a hard line as the US-Israel conflict enters its third week.

Iran has rejected any ceasefire unless the aggressors meet three ironclad conditions: full recognition of its legitimate rights, payment of reparations for the destruction caused, and binding international guarantees that neither the United States nor Israel will launch future attacks.

President Masoud Pezeshkian delivered the message directly, telling regional leaders including Russia and Pakistan that peace is impossible without accountability for the war launched on February 28, 2026.

“You cannot start a war and then demand a ceasefire whenever you want,” Iranian officials stated bluntly. The armed forces remain resolute: “Our forces are determined to teach the enemy a lesson they will never forget.”

The defiant posture comes amid heavy ongoing strikes, regional escalation, disrupted oil flows, and widespread online support rallying behind Iran’s stance against what many call unprovoked aggression.

Tehran shows no sign of backing down—demanding not just an end to fighting, but real consequences for those who started it.

Somaliland Boldly Invites Israel to Secure the Red Sea Gateway

Somaliland Boldly Invites Israel to Secure the Red Sea Gateway

The Republic of Somaliland has issued a direct invitation to Israel to establish a strategic presence in Berbera, the vital port and airport overlooking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

This narrow chokepoint carries roughly 15 percent of world trade, 30 percent of global container traffic, and 10 percent of seaborne oil—routes repeatedly threatened by Iran-backed Houthis.

Berbera boasts Africa’s longest runway and a modern deep-water port already managed with UAE support. Somaliland’s outreach follows Israel’s recognition of the breakaway republic late last year, a move that opened doors to deeper security cooperation amid ongoing regional conflict.

The invitation underscores a clear reality: stable partners like Somaliland offer Israel and the West a reliable foothold to protect vital shipping lanes from terrorism and Iranian proxies.

In a time of rising threats to free navigation, such alliances strengthen deterrence and safeguard global commerce.

Critics warn of escalation risks, but the facts remain: Berbera stands ready to serve as a bulwark for security and prosperity in one of the world’s most contested maritime corridors.

Iran’s New Supreme Leader Missing in Action Amid Reports of Coma and Amputation

BREAKING: Iran’s New Supreme Leader Missing in Action Amid Reports of Coma and Amputation

Iran’s freshly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, remains unseen since succeeding his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in U.S.-Israeli strikes on February 28, 2026.

Mojtaba has issued no public appearance, video, or voice message. Instead, Iranian state TV read out his first statement today—vowing to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed and promising revenge—while displaying an old photo.

Reports from Western outlets, including the New York Post and Daily Mail, cite Tehran sources claiming severe injuries from the initial attacks: one or both legs amputated, possible ruptured organs, and a coma. Some describe him as in intensive care at Sina University Hospital, unaware even of his elevation to leader.

Regime officials admit wounds but downplay them as minor (fractured foot, facial injuries). Yet no proof of life has surfaced, fueling speculation that hardliners are running the show behind a figurehead—or worse.

This ghost leadership comes as the regime faces escalating war and internal pressure. A supreme leader who can’t show his face sends a clear signal: the Islamic Republic’s grip is slipping fast.

Kentucky Teacher Calls for Iran to Bomb Mar-a-Lago, Gets Booted on Unpaid Leave

Kentucky Teacher Calls for Iran to Bomb Mar-a-Lago, Gets Booted on Unpaid Leave

A special education instructor at Woodford County High School in Kentucky has been placed on unpaid administrative leave after her TikTok videos urging Iran to target Mar-a-Lago—President Trump’s home and frequent retreat—sparked massive backlash.

Lauren Smyth, identified as the “Exceptional Child Instructor” behind the posts, faced swift public outrage when the clips went viral. In one, she pointedly asked if Iran knew where the president spends much of his time, framing it as a not-so-subtle suggestion amid rising tensions. She later doubled down in follow-ups, refusing to back off despite the firestorm.

The district acted fast: her profile vanished from the school website, and officials confirmed the unpaid leave status as investigations continue. No criminal charges have surfaced yet, but Rep. Andy Barr has called on the Secret Service to probe the matter.

Fire on USS Gerald R. Ford Quickly Contained in Red Sea

BREAKING: Fire on USS Gerald R. Ford Quickly Contained in Red Sea

The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), America’s most advanced aircraft carrier, experienced a contained fire in its main laundry spaces on March 12 while operating in the Red Sea.

U.S. 5th Fleet officials confirmed the blaze was not combat-related, caused no damage to propulsion or critical systems, and left the ship fully mission-capable. Two sailors received treatment for minor, non-life-threatening injuries and remain in stable condition.

The carrier continues supporting Operation Epic Fury, the U.S.-led campaign striking Iranian missile and nuclear targets.

The incident drew lighthearted online commentary about routine shipboard maintenance, such as cleaning lint traps, amid broader relief that it stemmed from everyday hazards rather than enemy action.

No further details on the fire’s origin have been released, but the Navy emphasized the vessel’s readiness and the crew’s swift response.

Netflix Acquires Ben Affleck’s AI Post-Production Startup for Up to $600 Million

Netflix Acquires Ben Affleck’s AI Post-Production Startup for Up to $600 Million

Netflix has agreed to acquire InterPositive, the AI filmmaking tools company founded by Ben Affleck in 2022, for as much as $600 million, according to reports citing people familiar with the matter. The deal includes an upfront payment plus potential earn-outs tied to performance milestones.

InterPositive, a 16-person team, developed technology that ingests raw production dailies and creates a custom AI model tailored to a specific film. The tools allow filmmakers to perform post-production tasks—such as relighting shots, removing wires, reframing angles, enhancing backgrounds, adding VFX elements, and fixing continuity issues—in days rather than months.

Netflix has tested similar AI approaches in post-production, including on the series “El Eternauta,” where it achieved roughly 10x efficiency gains compared with traditional VFX workflows.

The entire InterPositive team will join Netflix, and Affleck will serve as a senior advisor. The acquisition gives Netflix exclusive access to the technology, which is designed to support filmmakers while reducing high-cost elements of content creation.

The move follows Netflix’s recent decision to step back from larger media consolidation efforts and signals a focused push into creator-led AI innovation for its production pipeline. While the tools promise substantial cost savings, industry observers note they could accelerate changes to traditional VFX and post-production roles.

Elon Musk Clarifies Path to Trillionaire Status

Elon Musk Clarifies Path to Trillionaire Status

Elon Musk addressed speculation about becoming the world’s first trillionaire, explaining that the figure reflects his ownership stakes in the companies he founded, not liquid cash holdings.

“It really just represents percentage ownership in companies that I built,” Musk said in a recent Moonshots Podcast interview with Peter Diamandis. “It’s not like it’s sitting in a bank account. The companies are doing lots of useful things, the value of the companies grows, I own a percentage of those companies, and it sums up to that number, which seems high.”

Market observers and prediction platforms currently place Musk’s net worth around $850 billion, with estimates suggesting a realistic shot at $1 trillion later in 2026 if key ventures like SpaceX continue their valuation trajectory.

Musk emphasized the broader impact: his equity ties directly to innovations in electric vehicles, space travel, and related fields that create jobs and advance technology.

The discussion underscores a key point: extreme wealth in this context stems from building valuable enterprises rather than traditional accumulation of currency.

A letter from a former IRGC Ground Forces captain who defected from the regime

A letter from a former IRGC Ground Forces captain who defected from the regime.

“I joined the IRGC twelve years ago because I loved my country. Every day we were told that we were the true defenders of Iran, the shield protecting our borders from foreign enemies and terrorists. For a long time I believed it. I wore that uniform with pride.

But eventually it became impossible to ignore the reality of what we were actually protecting. We were not defending the people of Iran. We were defending the bank accounts of our commanders and the survival of a handful of men at the top of power.

My breaking point did not come on a battlefield. It came in the streets of our own cities. When the order came to treat our own brothers and sisters, students, hardworking fathers, and young women who only wanted basic human dignity, as enemies of God and to fire live ammunition into crowds, the illusion collapsed. You cannot look into the eyes of an unarmed twenty year old lying on the asphalt in a pool of blood and still convince yourself that you are on the right side..

I know there are thousands still inside the ranks of the IRGC who feel the same disgust I once felt. They stay because they fear for their families, because of economic pressure, or because the intelligence apparatus watches everyone. But to my former brothers who still wear that uniform, the regime is using you as a wall between its stolen wealth and the anger of the nation. When that wall finally collapses, and it will, they will flee in private jets to places like Caracas or Moscow. You will be the ones left to answer to the people of Iran.

I left everything behind because I could no longer be a jailer in my own home. Now my only hope is that the world hears the voice of the people inside Iran, and that those who still hold weapons lower them from the chests of our youth and finally stand with the people.”

Mehdi, former captain in the IRGC Ground Forces

ZAMBIA’S POLITICS ARE EV!L – KALABA

ZAMBIA’S POLITICS ARE EV!L – KALABA

… because of the injustices, some people are languishing in prison.

LUSAKA, THURSDAY, MARCH, 12, 2026 [SMART EAGLES]

Citizens First President Harry Kalaba says because of the injustices some politicians are in jail while those who have committed similar crimes and are sympathetic to the ruling party are not.

Speaking on Prime Television last night, Mr. Kalaba said he always talks about his friends and former lawmakers Nixon Chilangwa, Ronald Chitotela and Bowman Lusambo because he believes they have been wrongly treated.

He said politics of vengeance must come to an end adding that Zambia is one and Citizens needed to work together regardless of where they come from.

“There is no reason I should hate a person, because for example, you come from Eastern province, Zambia is one, we need to work together as one people regardless of where we come from,” Mr. Kalaba said.

“Why is it that some people are in jail and others are not, it is because of the injustices that are going on. I always talk about my friend Nixon Chilangwa,  Ronald Chitotela, where the car was burnt he was not there but he is serving his sentence, Bowman Lusambo was not a signatory, so who complained that he stole,  the politics we have taken up in this country are evil,”the CF leader said.

And Mr. Kalaba said because of the injustices and evil politics in the country,  the CF will rededicate the country back to Christ not just in words but through actions.

He said this move will allow citizens to embrace and love each other in Godly way.

UPND should be allowed to complete their two terms- Alice Rowlands Musukwa

By Alice Rowlands Musukwa

Let Him Go!!!!!

For the past 15 years, Zambia has been led by three different presidents: the late His Excellency Michael C. Sata, the late His Excellency Edgar C. Lungu, and now His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema.

During this period, the country experienced strong political divisions under one ruling party, the PF. Eventually, the majority of Zambians called for change, and President Hakainde Hichilema, who had spent 15 years in opposition, finally won the election on merit.

Five years of leadership has  come with many debates and mixed reactions from different political sides. However, my objective is simple, no leader can fix a country to perfection in less than four years. Zambia was left facing many challenges by not necessarily because previous presidents were bad leaders, but because governance is much more complex than it appears from the outside. Leadership always looks easy until it is your turn to lead.

We can debate endlessly about what PF did or did not do, but the truth is that Zambians called for change because we wanted to see new leadership. Over the years, we have dealt with many types of politicians hungry politicians, desperate politicians, greedy politicians, and even those that we the  people call criminals. And to be honest, UPND is not perfect either.

What we currently have is a leader who is more of a businessman than a traditional politician, and naturally his leadership style reflects that and Many decisions appear like business transactions, which can feel uncomfortable for people who are used to the familiar political style we have always known. The pick me Leader, Ba Goodie Goodie.

Looking ahead, Mr. Mundubila may stand a better chance to lead this country in the future. I am glad he has chosen to become more relatable and to be on the ground, to allow the people of Zambia to know who he is, and to allow them to support him naturally rather than forcing popularity like most washed out politicians we have seen. He has never been identified as a power hungry Politician and thats a good sign.

Let Him Go second Term!!!!!
UPND should be allowed to complete their two terms. Only then will we be able to fairly judge whether they are capable of producing another president from their party or not to continue the 3rd term since HH won’t be eligable By that time and Mr. Mundubile could potentially lead a stronger opposition and face victory.

The truth many people are afraid to say is that Zambia currently does not have a strong opposition capable of removing UPND with solid alternatives, apart from the usual accusations and political slogans.

Let us also be honest  can anyone point to a president anywhere who fulfilled every promise they made during campaigns? Even the next president after HH will come with promises that may or may not be fulfilled.

Economically, Zambia is still in a fragile position. Making reckless political decisions could push our economy even further backward. A change of government often means starting again and cleaning up problems that may have been created over many years.

Right now, many opposition parties should focus on fixing their own internal structures before trying to fix the entire government.

At this moment, Zambia seems to have two parties standing strong, and those are the ones we should watch closely moving forward.

I’m Glad M2 is actually Standing it gives him a better chance to get known by People and he is naturally liked so he is absolutely the Future.

RESPONSE TO BISHOP JOHN MAMBO’S STATEMENT: “DON’T HOLD ELECTIONS BEFORE LUNGU IS BURIED”

RESPONSE TO COMMUNITY HOUSE BISHOP JOHN MAMBO’S STATEMENT: “DON’T HOLD ELECTIONS BEFORE LUNGU IS BURIED”

……it’s discretionary to call Mambo a bishop because he is more of a Hichilema disciple; let him quietly enjoy the falling crumbs from Community House

By Thandiwe Ketiš Ngoma

Nowadays, when John Mambo speaks, he speaks the mind of the man he supports so religiously: President Hakainde Hichilema. Ever since the president started appointing him to some government boards in areas where he has completely no competence, the man seems to have lost his marbles. Like Nevers Mumba, Mambo now behaves like the In-house bishop for Community House. Every time he speaks, it’s to say something more outrageous than what he previously said in support of his political god, HH. To call Mambo a bishop is really out of discretion. He is more of one of the 12 disciples of HH, the others being Nevers Mumba, Joshua Banda, Benjamin Phiri, Evans Chinyemba, Raphael Mweempwa, Joe Imakando, and five others I willl name next time.

To be fair to Mambo, he hardly pretended that he was not a UPND activist. A review of his statements when HH was in opposition shows that the word bishop is really a part of his name rather than a religious title because there is very little the man says that is godly. Nearly everything he says is in support of the man from Community House. It is as if he is impatient to prove that he is now a man of gold!

His latest proposal that Zambia should postpone general elections until former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is buried is not only misguided; it is constitutionally untenable, morally questionable, and politically alarming. But it is important to understand that whenever Mambo speaks, he is only giving expression to the mind of his political god. So his proposal, as unconstitutional as it is, reflects the sermon or latest thinking from Community House.

Zambia is a constitutional democracy governed by the supreme law of the land. The Constitution of the Republic of Zambia clearly stipulates when general elections must be held, and that date is not open to negotiation based on personal opinions, emotional arguments, or political convenience. The electoral timetable is a constitutional obligation that guarantees stability, order, and the democratic rights of the Zambian people.

For Bishop Mambo to suggest that national elections be delayed because of a burial dispute is not only reckless but also a dangerous attempt to undermine the rule of law. No bishop, politician, or private individual has the authority to suspend or override constitutional processes. Zambia’s democracy cannot be paused to satisfy political narratives.

What is even more troubling, however, is the glaring silence from Bishop Mambo on the key issue at the center of this matter.

The public is already aware that former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu made clear and deliberate final wishes regarding his funeral arrangements, specifically that President Hakainde Hichilema should not preside over his funeral or be anywhere near his remains. These wishes have been widely reported and openly discussed.

This raises a critical and unavoidable question. Why is Bishop Mambo deliberately ignoring the final wishes of the deceased?

If President Hakainde Hichilema had respected the wishes of the late President and the position of the family, Zambia would not be facing the current stalemate regarding the burial. The reality is simple. This unfortunate situation exists because those wishes have not been fully respected.

Instead of acknowledging this truth, Bishop Mambo has chosen to deflect attention and redirect blame by proposing extreme measures that would undermine Zambia’s democratic system.

As a bishop, his responsibility should be to defend justice, stand with grieving families, and speak truth to those in authority. The Church has historically been a voice for the weak, the oppressed, and the downtrodden. It has served as the moral compass of the nation.

Yet in this case, Bishop Mambo appears to have abandoned that sacred role. Rather than challenging those in power to respect the wishes of the deceased and the concerns of the family, he has chosen to align himself with political authority, raising legitimate concerns among citizens about his motivations.

Many Zambians are now asking difficult but necessary questions. Is Bishop Mambo acting as a moral leader of the Church, or has he become a political spokesperson for those in power?

When a religious leader openly promotes narratives that benefit the political establishment while ignoring the pain of a grieving family, people are left wondering whether principle has been replaced by political loyalty and possible financial interests.

The Church must never allow itself to become an instrument of political convenience or propaganda. Its role is to hold leaders accountable and to defend truth, justice, and compassion without fear or favor.

Zambia must remain guided by constitutionalism, the rule of law, and respect for human dignity. The date of elections is already set by the Constitution, and that constitutional mandate cannot be sacrificed for political theatre or selective outrage.

Bishop Mambo must therefore answer the nation honestly. Why ignore the clearly stated wishes of the late President Edgar Chagwa Lungu? Why shift blame away from those who have the power to resolve this matter? And why call for the suspension of Zambia’s democratic processes instead of urging respect for the wishes of the deceased and his family?

If Bishop Mambo genuinely desires peace and dignity in this matter, the solution is straightforward. He should advise President Hakainde Hichilema to respect the final wishes of the late President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and the position of his family.

That would be the path of honor, compassion, and moral leadership, not the path of political deflection.

Zambia’s Constitution must stand. The rule of law must prevail. And the final wishes of the deceased must be respected.

Democracy on Trial: If President Hakainde Hichilema Cannot Practice Democracy in His Own Party, How Can He Defend It for Zambia?- Michael Zephaniah Phiri Political Activist

Democracy on Trial: If President Hakainde Hichilema Cannot Practice Democracy in His Own Party, How Can He Defend It for Zambia?

By Michael Zephaniah Phiri Political Activist

Democracy is not merely a slogan shouted at rallies or printed on campaign posters. It is a system of values demonstrated through actions, accountability, and respect for the rule of law. Today, the biggest question confronting Zambia is whether *President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND government*  truly believe in democracy or whether democracy has become a convenient political narrative while the reality tells a different story.

In Bemba wisdom, it is said: *“Uwakwensha ubushiku, bamutasha elyo bwacha.”*

A driver is praised only when he safely reaches the destination in the morning. But what happens when the driver keeps changing routes while pretending to follow the correct road? This is the dilemma Zambia faces today.

The route to democracy is clear. It is defined in the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia and reinforced by democratic traditions practiced by political parties across the world. Yet, the conduct of the ruling party raises serious concerns about whether the country is still traveling on that road.

*Constitutional Obligation to Practice Democracy*

*Article 60 of the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Act No. 2 of 2016*  clearly establishes the legal framework governing political parties. It requires that political parties operate as democratic institutions.

Specifically, *Article 60(2)(d) and (f)*  compels political parties to:

●  Practice internal democracy through *regular, free, and fair elections.*

●  Ensure members are able to participate fully in party affairs and seek redress for grievances.

The intention of this constitutional provision was simple and clear: to eliminate the culture of *one-man rule within political parties*  and to ensure leadership renewal through conventions and internal elections.

In a genuine democracy, conventions are not optional events. They are constitutional obligations.

*The UPND’s Defining Moment*

Today, the *United Party for National Development (UPND)*  faces a defining test of its commitment to democracy.

According to the *UPND Constitution,*  the tenure of President Hakainde Hichilema and the entire *National Management Committee (NMC)*  expired on *13 February 2026.*  Yet, the leadership remains in office without a General Assembly being convened to elect new office bearers.

This situation directly contradicts the party’s own constitutional provisions.

●  *Article 56* and *Article 60* of the party constitution require that the National Management Committee be elected by the *General Assembly every five years.*

●   *Article 75* states that the Party President shall *be elected by the General Assembly every five years.

Despite these clear provisions, the convention has not been held.

The explanation now being advanced is based on *Article 79,*  which states that a party president is eligible for re-election and that the term may run concurrently with that of a sitting Republican President.

However, eligibility to contest is *not an exemption from elections.*

The provision simply means a leader can stand again; it does *not allow the party to avoid holding a convention altogether.*  More importantly, *Article 79 r* efers to *two concurrent terms,*  not *two consecutive terms,*  as some within the party are attempting to suggest.

Avoiding a convention while remaining in power is therefore not just an internal administrative delay, it is a matter that raises constitutional and democratic concerns.

*A Dangerous Double Standard*

What makes the situation more troubling is the perceived double standard in how democracy is applied.

While the ruling party appears reluctant to hold its own convention, opposition parties have repeatedly found themselves entangled in legal disputes, court processes, and administrative obstacles that delay or prevent their own internal processes.

This has created a perception that the democratic playing field is being deliberately tilted.

The message that citizens are beginning to hear is simple: *democracy for the ruling party, restrictions for everyone else.

Yet democracy cannot survive under such conditions.

*The Character of Leadership*

Another Bemba proverb teaches us:

*“Ichikwanka, bacimona kuma mpalanya.”*
The character of the one holding you is seen through their behaviour.

Leadership is revealed not through speeches but through conduct.

If a leader believes in democracy, they welcome competition. They do not fear conventions. They do not silence critics or manipulate internal processes to avoid being challenged.

Unfortunately, signals emerging from the political landscape suggest growing intolerance for internal contestation.

Even voices that once criticized the government are now warning party members not to challenge the president at a future convention, if such a convention ever takes place.

This is not how democratic parties behave.

*Preparing the Ground for Endless Power?*

Many Zambians have also noticed a growing narrative within sections of the ruling party promoting slogans such as “ *Bally 2090.”*

Such messaging raises legitimate concerns about whether the country is slowly being conditioned to accept the idea of prolonged or indefinite leadership.

Democracy is founded on a very simple principle: *power belongs to the people and leaders are temporary custodians of that power.*

No leader, regardless of popularity, can claim permanent ownership of authority.

*Lessons from Zambia’s Democratic Tradition*

Zambia’s democratic culture has long been strengthened by peaceful transitions of power.

When the country changed leadership after the *2021 general election,*  the outgoing administration handed over authority peacefully in the interest of national stability.

That moment demonstrated to the world that Zambia values democratic principles above political rivalry.

However, democracy must be protected not only during national elections but also within political parties themselves.

A political party that cannot practice democracy internally cannot credibly defend democracy nationally.

*Constitutional Reform Concerns*

Recent remarks by *Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha*  suggesting that Zambia may consider fully repealing and replacing the Constitution in 2027 have added another layer of concern to the national debate.

While constitutional reform is sometimes necessary, the timing and motivations behind such discussions inevitably raise questions about whether the process could be used to reshape political rules for future advantage.

The Constitution must never become a political tool. It must remain the neutral foundation upon which the entire democratic system stands.

*The Challenge Before President Hichilema*

President Hakainde Hichilema now faces a historic opportunity.

He can demonstrate to the nation and the international community that his commitment to democracy is genuine by taking a simple step: allow democracy to flourish within his own party.

That means:

●  Convening a *General Assembly*  as required by the party constitution.

●  Allowing party members to freely *contest leadership positions.*

●  Demonstrating that leadership is earned through democratic competition, not preserved through procedural delays.

If the president truly believes in democracy, he should have nothing to fear from a convention.

The Road Zambia Must Follow

Zambia’s democratic path is clear. It is written in the Constitution and reinforced by the expectations of its citizens.

Leaders come and go, but democratic institutions must endure.

As the Bemba proverb reminds us again:

*“Uwakwensha ubushiku, bamutasha elyo bwacha.”*

A driver is only praised when he reaches the destination.

The destination is *true democracy,*  not selective democracy, not convenient democracy, but democracy practiced consistently and transparently.

The question Zambia must now ask is simple:

Will President Hakainde Hichilema drive the country on the clear road of democracy, or will he continue changing routes while claiming to lead us to the same destinat

The answer will determine not only the future of his party, but the credibility of democracy in Zambia itself.

His story is one of ascent against the odds, shaped by the values of humility, unity, and service. Born in 1971 in Northern Province, his early life was defined by perseverance amid the vibrant dynamics of a large family, one of twenty-six siblings.

This background instilled in him a deep appreciation for inclusivity and equality, qualities he’s carried into every sphere of his career.

Education lies at the core of BM8’s leadership. He is uniquely qualified, holding both a Chartered Accountancy (ACCA) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), followed by a Master’s in Constitutional & Constitutional Law.

Admitted to the Bar in 2016, Brian’s blend of financial acumen and legal expertise is rare among African leaders. This duality enables him to see Zambia’s challenges from multiple angles and craft practical, principled solutions.

His professional journey is a testament to his readiness for the highest office.

As Chairman of the Energy Regulation Board or ERB, Brian demonstrated a steadfast commitment to national development.

His tenure as Provincial Minister and later as Government Chief Whip highlighted his ability to unite diverse interests, strategize for the greater good, and deliver results. Currently, as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, he is Zambia’s conscience—holding government to account and ensuring the voices of the people are never lost in the corridors of power.

BM8’s leadership is anchored in faith and integrity. A devout Christian, he lives by the biblical tenet from Micah 6:8—to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

His anti-corruption stance is unwavering: “Corruption smells, and it only takes away resources from the poor.” In a nation yearning for honest leadership, Brian stands tall as a bulwark against graft, championing policies that direct resources to hospitals, schools, and the most vulnerable.

Presidential vision is more than rhetoric—it’s about bringing people together and inspiring collective action. BM8’s vision centers on self-reliance, harnessing Zambia’s mineral wealth, arable land, and youthful energy.

He believes, “Notre jeunesse est notre plus grande richesse”—our youth is our greatest wealth. Empowering young Zambians, equipping them to innovate, and ensuring their participation in national progress is at the heart of his agenda.

Family is the foundation of BM8’s life. Married to Asled Mvula since 1992 and father to five children, Brian embodies stability, responsibility, and devotion.

Father of twins.

His traditional praise name, Bashimpundu—a title also held by founding President Kenneth Kaunda—links him to Zambia’s legacy of principled leadership.

Those who know Brian best speak to his extraordinary character. Dr. Leonard Kalinde describes him as “a man of discipline, humility, and vision,” while Eng. Akabondo Munalula calls him a connector who “brings people together, listens deeply, and makes everyone feel valued.”

Former President Edgar Lungu attests to his integrity and loyalty: “He has served with distinction, and I have no doubt he has the ability to serve Zambia with honour.”

BM8’s promise is clear: a just, prosperous, and inclusive Zambia. “I want to see a just country of equality in distribution of wealth,” he states—articulating a vision where every citizen has access to opportunity and dignity. His campaign is built on the pillars of social justice, youth empowerment, and anti-corruption, all underpinned by unwavering faith.

In the 2026 elections, Zambia faces a crossroads. The nation can choose continuity or embrace the promise of transformative leadership.

Brian Mundubile’s life, credentials, and unwavering commitment to Zambia’s advancement make him not just a candidate, but the next president the country truly deserves.

NDOLA STANDS STILL AS EMMANUEL MULENGA IGNITES PF UNITY

NDOLA STANDS STILL AS EMMANUEL MULENGA IGNITES PF UNITY

Ndola, 12th March, 2026 (SMART EAGLES)

Ndola witnessed an extraordinary political moment today as young Patriotic Front Copperbelt Province Chairperson Hon. Emmanuel Mulenga brought the Copperbelt city to a standstill in what many are calling the most powerful display of unity the party has seen in recent months.

From the bustling streets of Ndola to the surrounding townships, Patriotic Front members poured out in large numbers, rallying behind a man many now believe is the party’s next Member of Parliament for Ndola Central.

What made the moment remarkable was not just the crowds, but the message. For months, the Patriotic Front has faced internal divisions following the passing of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu’s government. Yet in Ndola, the party did not just appear united but showed that a vision with hardwork is achievable.

Hon. Mulenga managed to do what many senior figures have struggled to achieve bringing together factions that had long operated separately.

“Young people are tired of endless internal battles,” said one PF supporter during the gathering.

“Emmanuel Mulenga has reminded us that the Patriotic Front is bigger than individual interests.”

Hon. Mulenga’s show of tremendous leadership represents a broader generational shift inside the party. With youthful energy, grassroots mobilization and a message focused on rebuilding the movement, he is positioning himself as a unifying force at a time when PF desperately needs cohesion.

Truth be told the significance of what happened in Ndola cannot be ignored. When a city pauses to listen to a young leader calling for unity, it signals something deeper than ordinary political activity it signals the rebirth of a movement.

For the Patriotic Front, the message from Ndola is clear unity may well be the party’s most powerful weapon going forward.

And if the scenes witnessed today are anything to go by, Hon. Emmanuel Mulenga has just lit the spa

IMISEPELA APP – DIGITALIZING ACCESS TO ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES

IMISEPELA APP – DIGITALIZING ACCESS TO ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES

Today, something groundbreaking in the digital space is expected – the launch of Imisepela App.

Launched on the Youth Day, the App is intended for young people to access a variety of economic opportunities such as jobs and funding for their projects.

On one App, like under one roof of a supermarket, the youth could scroll for that much-needed job or loan for a project.

Currently, these opportunities are scattered in a lot of places – different websites , social media pages and different traditional media.

For some of the opportunities, someone must physically get to the service center itself or government ministry.

With the App, all one needs is bundles to facilitate access to the internet.

The App comes at the right time. For many years now, Zambia has been investing in facilitating access to the internet.

The previous government invested significantly in the construction of communication towers which in turn allowed service providers such as MTN and Airtel to roll out their audio and data services.

Add to this the creators of digital products such as computer-based applications addressing a variety of services.

The Imisepela App is the latest in a series of innovative ideas addressing a variety of development challenges.

Young people who often lack financial means to physically move from point A to B can now simply scroll down their handsets.

However, with any new innovation, there’re challenges and teething problems.

These will be pointed out in a variety of ways including criticism of one kind or the other.

It’s also important not to inflate the expectations of young people. For instance, the mere launch of the App doesn’t mean all the answers to their problems have been found.

The App doesn’t create economic opportunities, it only makes available what is there.

It’s government that creates policies that facilitate private sector ability to produce goods and services.

Policy and actual production are not products of computer apps but human ingenuity.

As long as the economy doesn’t produce enough opportunities, the App will satisfy but only a few.

However, depending on how the App has been designed in terms of access to data, most of the opportunities that went to a select few and sometimes to undeserving individuals may now be accessed by many others and hopefully offered on merit.

In any case, there have been opportunities that many other young people simply didn’t know about because of the inadequate nature of the means by which they were communicated.

The Imisepela App addresses this inadequacy. Now the ball has landed in the young people’s courts.

Start scrolling and share your experience.

Khamenei says Iran wants compensation for US-Israeli attacks

Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamanei warned the US and Israel that they must pay “compensation” for their actions.

Iran’s new supreme leader did not mention the two countries by name, only referring to them as “the enemy.”

“We will ask for compensation from the enemy. If we can’t get compensation from the enemy, we will destroy their properties as much as they have destroyed ours,” Iran’s new supreme leader said in an address, read by an anchor on state television.

Khamenei warned Iran would continue target neighboring countries in retaliation.

“We have had good relationship with all these 15 neighboring countries … we only targeted these military bases (and) we will continue, we will have to continue and do so.”

“These countries must make their duty clear to the invaders of our beloved homeland and the murderers of our people,” he added, saying he recommends that they close their US bases “as soon as possible.”

A Man Killed His Girlfriend and Then Asked ChatGPT for Advice Before Calling 911

Darron Lee, a former New York Jets first-round pick, allegedly killed his girlfriend and later asked ChatGPT how to cover it up. Police found her dead at their Tennessee home, and prosecutors say Lee sought advice from AI before calling 911.

Lee, 31, reportedly sent messages to ChatGPT days before Gabriella Carvalho Perpétuo was discovered dead in their Ooltewah home. In his messages, he described her injuries and asked how to make them appear accidental.

“Don’t know what to do right now. Fiancee [sic] did her crazy thing again, and now she’s messed up, I wake up, and she has two swollen eyes (I didn’t do anything, self-inflicted). She stabbed herself, slit her eye? Idk but she isn’t waking up or responding, what do I do?” he wrote, according to the New York Post.

ChatGPT responded with instructions on handling the situation without drawing police attention, according to court records.

Police body camera footage shows Lee acting confused when officers arrived. He claimed Perpétuo, who had narcolepsy, fell in the shower, but the crime scene told a different story. The house was covered in blood, and there was evidence of a violent struggle.

The autopsy revealed Perpétuo suffered blunt force trauma, stab wounds, a broken neck, bruises, and bite marks. Her injuries were far beyond what could result from an accidental fall. Detectives also found broken glass, a shattered microwave, and cleaning supplies, suggesting Lee attempted to clean the scene.

Lee was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Prosecutors say they plan to pursue the death penalty if he is convicted. District Attorney Coty Wamp told the court that Lee treated ChatGPT like a “legal advisor,” messaging it dozens of times about the crime.

IRAN’S SUPREME LEADER TELLS GULF STATES: KICK THE AMERICANS OUT OR ELSE

IRAN’S SUPREME LEADER TELLS GULF STATES: KICK THE AMERICANS OUT OR ELSE

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a blunt ultimatum to Gulf neighbors: close U.S. military bases on your soil immediately.

The warning comes as Iranian drones and missiles have already struck multiple American installations across Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia in the past two weeks—retaliation for U.S.-Israeli operations inside Iran.

A widely shared map shows more than a dozen long-established U.S. sites now in the crosshairs, some operating in the region for over 15 years.

Adding to the pressure, Iranian officials are openly discussing the deployment of up to 6,000 naval mines to choke the Strait of Hormuz. That narrow waterway handles roughly 15 million barrels of oil per day—about one-fifth of global supply.

Military analysts estimate it could take six weeks or longer to clear such a minefield, especially given current U.S. minesweeping shortages in the Gulf.

The message from Tehran is clear: keep hosting American forces and risk becoming part of the next escalation.

Trump Orders Massive 172 Million Barrel Release from Strategic Petroleum Reserve

President Trump Takes Decisive Action: Orders Massive 172 Million Barrel Release from Strategic Petroleum Reserve

In a strong move to protect hardworking American families amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, President Trump has authorized the release of 172 million barrels from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

This forms the backbone of a historic coordinated global drawdown of 400 million barrels announced by the International Energy Agency, aimed at countering Iran’s aggressive disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz that have driven oil prices toward $120 a barrel and pushed average U.S. gasoline costs to $3.58 per gallon.

Trump acted swiftly after Iranian attacks on shipping halted critical oil flows, refusing to let foreign threats punish American drivers at the pump.

The release, set to begin next week and unfold over four months, delivers immediate relief while U.S. forces decisively degrade the Iranian regime’s capabilities.

War With Iran Could Cost the US Over $50 Billion as First Six Days Already Exceed $11 Billion

Breaking News : War With Iran Could Cost the US Over $50 Billion as First Six Days Already Exceed $11 Billion

A new report indicates that the United States has already spent more than $11 billion within the first six days of military operations linked to the ongoing conflict with Iran, underscoring the enormous financial cost of modern high-intensity warfare. Analysts warn that if the conflict continues, the overall cost could exceed $50 billion.

According to the report, the spending surge is being driven by extensive missile defense operations, precision strike missions, and large-scale naval and air deployments across the region.
One of the largest expenses has been the interception of Iranian missiles and drones targeting U.S. forces and regional allies. American air defense systems including Patriot and THAAD interceptors, along with Standard Missile interceptors launched from U.S. Navy destroyers, cost millions of dollars per shot. The high number of intercept launches during the first days of fighting significantly increased operational costs.

The United States has also conducted long-range precision strikes against Iranian military targets and infrastructure, using high-end munitions such as Tomahawk cruise missiles, which can cost roughly $2 million each.

Beyond munitions, the deployment and sustained operation of carrier strike groups, fighter aircraft, intelligence platforms, and logistics networks have further driven costs. Maintaining a large military presence in an active combat environment requires constant fuel supply, maintenance operations, surveillance coverage, and personnel support.

Defense analysts cited in the report say the $11 billion figure only reflects the immediate operational costs during the first six days of the conflict, meaning the total could rise significantly if operations continue or expand. Replacement of expended munitions, equipment wear, and extended deployments could push the final cost far higher.

The figures illustrate how quickly expenses can escalate in modern conflicts where advanced missile defense systems and precision weapons are used extensively against large-scale missile and drone threats.

White Afrikaans “Refugees” Quietly Returning to South Africa After Struggling With High Costs, Cultural Isolation and Life in America

White Afrikaans “Refugees” Quietly Returning to South Africa After Struggling With High Costs, Cultural Isolation and Life in America

A number of white Afrikaans South Africans who relocated to the United States claiming refugee status are reportedly beginning to return home after struggling to adapt to life abroad.
According to reports and community discussions, several families say the reality of living in America has been far more difficult than expected.

Many cited financial pressure, including the high cost of housing, healthcare and everyday living in the United States. While some managed to integrate into workplaces and schools, the overall cost of maintaining a stable life proved overwhelming for many households.

Others say the biggest challenge was cultural isolation. Despite being welcomed into communities and finding jobs, some Afrikaner families reported feeling disconnected from their language, traditions and social networks.
For people used to tight-knit Afrikaans communities, adapting to American culture, social norms and lifestyles has been a major adjustment.

Some families have now decided that returning to South Africa — where they still have family ties, familiar culture and support systems — offers a better quality of life despite the concerns that originally pushed them to leave.

The situation highlights how migration decisions are often far more complex than expected, with culture, community and belonging sometimes proving just as important as economic opportunity.

United States is the largest Oil Producer in the World …When oil prices go up, US makes a lot of money- Trump

0

President Donald Trump sought to play down rising oil prices and market volatility tied to the conflict with Iran on Thursday, arguing the United States benefits when energy prices climb.

“The United States is the largest Oil Producer in the World, by far, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money. BUT, of far greater interest and importance to me, as President, is stoping an evil Empire, Iran, from having Nuclear Weapons, and destroying the Middle East and, indeed, the World,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

” I won’t ever let that happen!” he added.

Trump’s comments came as the International Energy Agency warned the world could be facing the “largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market” amid intensifying Iranian attacks on shipping routes.
