For Immediate Release

On behalf of the Lungu family, we wish to announce that the funeral and burial of our beloved Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu will take place here in South Africa, in accordance with the family’s wishes for a private ceremony.

This period has been deeply emotional for family, and we are grateful for the overwhelming support and condolences extended to the family from across the continent and the globe.

We would especially like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Government of the Republic of South Africa for their respectful support and for honouring the family’s decision to hold a private funeral and burial here in South Africa.

Your non-interference and respect of the South African Constitution and rights of the family and the desire of the family is commendable and will give space to mourn and celebrate the life of our loved Edgar Chagwa Lungu in dignity and peace.

The visit of the Honourabke Minister for International Relations, Mr Ronald Lamola, was heartwarming when he came to convey a message of condolences on behalf of President Cyril Ramaposa.

The Lungu family continues to seek peace and unity amongst fellow Zambians during this time and thanks all friends, supporters, and members of the public for their understanding, compassion and willingness to mourn the former head of state who, as it has been resolved by the family, will be buried here in Johannesburg South Africa at a private funeral.

Further details regarding the funeral arrangements and burial will be shared to the Zambian and South African public in due course.

Reschedule Lumezi by-election – Nakachindda
… We are mourning

By Jane Chanda

PF secretary general Raphael Nakacinda has urged the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to reconsider its decision to proceed with the Lumezi Parliamentary by-election, citing uncertainty surrounding the repatriation of late former president Edgar Lungu’s remains.

And Eastern Province commanding officer Robertson Mweemba says police are more than ready for the Lumezi Parliamentary by-election, with adequate manpower deployed to ensure a peaceful and smooth process.

in a statement on Wednesday, the ECZ stated that the Lumezi Parliamentary by-election would proceed as scheduled on June 26, 2025, despite the ongoing period of national mourning for the late former president Edgar Lungu, citing constitutional requirements for a by-election to be held within 90 days of a parliamentary seat falling vacant.

In an interview yesterday, Nakacinda, speaking before the declaration that the national mourning period was over by President Hakainde Hichilema, said the ongoing national mourning period had disrupted campaign activities, making it difficult for

Shivambu alleges MK Party took bribes from Morocco to shift Western Sahara stance

Shivambu alleges MK Party took bribes from Morocco to shift Western Sahara stance

Former uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party secretary-general Floyd Shivambu has accused the party’s leadership of accepting bribes from the Moroccan government to change its stance on the Western Sahara conflict.

Speaking at a media briefing yesterday, Thursday, Shivambu claimed that following his removal, the MK Party quietly reversed its pro–Western Sahara position and adopted a pro-Moroccan outlook.

According to Shivambu, this policy shift came after certain party figures, were approached with financial incentives from Morocco.

He suggested that his dismissal was tied to his opposition to this foreign interference and hinted at broader corruption within the party ranks.

“These leaders have sold out the Sahrawi people,” Shivambu charged, calling the alleged shift a betrayal of liberation values.

The MK Party swiftly distanced itself from the claims. Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela dismissed the media briefing as “unsanctioned” and emphasized that Shivambu no longer speaks on behalf of the organization.

As of now, no evidence such as financial records or official correspondence has been presented to support Shivambu’s allegations. The Moroccan government has not commented on the claims.

Lubinda has also thanked President Hichilema for finally accepting that he is not wanted anywhere near President Edgar Lungu’s funeral and for allowing the family to hold a private funeral like Lungu himself wanted.

Lubinda has also asked all PF members and Zambians who loved and are morning Lungu to avoid violence or provocation from those mocking Edgar Lungu but focus on mourning Edgar Lungu in peace.

CHURCH CONDEMNS GROWING MOCKERY SURROUNDING PRESIDENT LUNGU’S FUNERAL

CHURCH CONDEMNS GROWING MOCKERY SURROUNDING PRESIDENT LUNGU’S FUNERA

Zambia’s leading Church Mother Bodies have strongly condemned the growing wave of insensitive public commentary and online mockery surrounding the ongoing funeral uncertainties of the late President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

In a powerful joint statement, the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ), the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ), and the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) expressed deep concern over the loss of reverence and dignity as the country continues to mourn its Sixth Republican President

The Church noted with dismay the rising trend on social media and other platforms where the solemnity of the late president’s passing has become a subject of jokes, ridicule, and political satire. What should have been a time of national mourning has, according to the statement, dangerously shifted into a theatre of mockery, stirring division rather than unity.

“We note with concern the emergence of insensitive commentary and mockery surrounding the ongoing developments,” the statement reads. “While the public has the right to express opinions, we caution against turning this solemn occasion into a subject of jokes or ridicule.

The Church emphasized that such behaviour does not align with Zambia’s cultural and moral values. They reminded the public that in African tradition, death is a sacred passage one that calls for respect, silence, and collective reflection. When a national figure passes away, especially a former Head of State, dignity should prevail over division, and empathy should rise above entertainment.

The leaders of the three bodies warned that the mockery not only disrespects the memory of President Lungu but also deepens the wounds of a grieving family and nation. They described such conduct as a dangerous erosion of compassion in the public sphere, potentially setting a precedent where no national figure is spared from ridicule in their final moments.

“Scripture reminds us that there is a time for everything,” the Church said, referencing Ecclesiastes. “This is a time for mourning and reflection not entertainment or point-scoring.”

The Church further urged citizens, including political leaders, content creators, and media personalities, to act with restraint and reverence. They called on the public to shift from criticism to compassion, and from mockery to mourning, recognizing that the nation’s response to death speaks volumes about its moral compass.

Additionally, the Church disclosed that it is actively involved in efforts to foster healing and dialogue between the Lungu family and the Government, urging both parties to resolve their differences with dignity. However, they cautioned that public noise and sensationalism only serve to worsen the situation.

The Church Mother Bodies has further appealed to all Zambians to pause, reflect, and honour the moment with humility and maturity. They prayed for peace, healing, and a renewed national spirit anchored in unity, love, and the timeless values that define Zambia.

Nevers Mumba has praised President Hichilema’s decision to cancel the national mourning period

FORMER vice president Nevers Mumba has praised President Hakainde Hichilema’s decision to cancel the national mourning period in honor of the late former President Edgar Lungu, describing it as a most amicable decision.

Mr Lungu’s demise on June 5, there has been a prolonged impasse between government and the deceased former head of state’s family over the repatriation and funeral arrangements.

Last week, a compromise was reached between the two parties following discussions and it was agreed that the body set to be repatriated on Wednesday ahead of burial next week Monday.

However, the return of Mr Lungu’s remains to Zambia was dramatically postponed following a “fresh disagreement” between the family and the state over the funeral arrangements.

This prompted President Hichilema to address the nation yesterday and announce the cancelation of the national mourning four days before the day it was supposed to end.

Reacting to the President’s decision Dr Mumba, who is also Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) president, said the move had to be taken.

“Thank You Mr.President. Leadership is about decision making,” Dr Mumba wrote on his facbook page, “This is the most amicable decision in a very difficult situation,”

Meanwhile, netizens took to social media to hail the decision.

“Wise words Mr president we love you so much,” one follower by the name of Isaiah Chiyambi said.

Another follower stated, “Thank you Mr president For your decision, don’t panic God is there for your leadership and we have been waiting for this great decision,”

KASONDE MWENDA SAYS PRESIDENT’S ADDRESS MISSED CHANCE FOR RECONCILIATION

KASONDE MWENDA SAYS PRESIDENT’S ADDRESS MISSED CHANCE FOR RECONCILIATION

Economic Freedom Fighters President, Kasonde Mwenda, says Thursday evening’s address to the nation by the Head of State regarding the funeral of former President Edgar Lungu missed an opportunity to settle issues.

He questions the logic of President Hakainde Hichilema apologising to his South African counterpart for the disruption surrounding Lungu’s repatriation and funeral arrangements without extending the same to the bereaved family.

Kasonde states that the most sincere and necessary apology should be directed to the Lungu family for the pain and mistreatment they have endured during the process.

He adds that Hichilema also ought to have apologised to Zambians for the manner in which Lungu, a leader who served the country, has been treated in his final days and in death.

Kasonde says true reconciliation and healing begin with acknowledging those most affected — in this instance, the Lungu family and the Zambian people.

He has since expressed solidarity with the Lungu family, noting that their decision to pause and reflect before proceeding with funeral arrangements is understandable.

Kasonde says that in a time when trust has been eroded by years of political conflict and public hostility, it is both reasonable and necessary for the family to ensure their loved one’s dignity is preserved, free from further politicisation.

He adds that while it is customary for the state to honour national figures, there is no legal obligation for the government to take responsibility for the remains.

Kasonde has urged government, political actors, and the people of Zambia to respect the Lungu family’s decisions.

“Leadership That Listens, President Hichilema’s Statesmanship During National Mourning”

“Leadership That Listens, President Hichilema’s Statesmanship During National Mourning”

By ; Tobbius Chilembo Hamunkoyo -LLB, Author, Scientist, Political and Governance activist 20/06/25

In a time when Zambia was cloaked in grief over the passing of its 6th Republican President, Edgar Chagwa Lungu on the  5th June 2025 , in south Africa, President Hakainde Hichilema  emerged as a steady hand and wise voice, earning praise for his respectful and unifying leadership during this period and as he addressed the nation yesterday.

Amid national sorrow, political tension, and family disagreements, he has demonstrated patience, dignity, and deep reverence for both the late leader and the traditions of a mourning nation.

It is said “A wise man does not show his wisdom in words, but in his actions.”

President Hichilema’s response to the evolving funeral arrangements has been marked by humility and restraint.

Though a planned state funeral was disrupted by the Lungu’s family decision on the 18th June 2025, he chose dialogue over confrontation , very important.

He extended gratitude to churches, traditional leaders, and even apologized on behalf of the nation to South Africa for the disrupted ceremonial plans, what a great leader.

This maturity underscores his understanding that leadership during mourning must first be about healing, not power.

It is said “The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.”

Instead,it is a notorious fact that President Hichilema made sure no one felt abandoned, neither the Lungu family nor the grieving public.

He reminded the nation that former President Lungu was not only a family member but a national figure, and therefore, deserved a respectful and honorable farewell, very important.

When emotions ran high, President Hichilema stayed rooted in a long-term vision for peace, he reminded Zambians that “Zambia is bigger than all of us.”

“When the roots of a tree begin to decay, it spreads death to the branches.”

But with leaders like Hakainde Hichilema, who tend to the roots with care, the tree of national unity continues to stand strong.

Even as the official mourning period ended, the President left the door open for reconciliation and future cooperation with the Lungu family, proving that his governance is anchored not in politics, but in people, legacy, and peace.

He is a true leader, once again it is said “He who forgives ends the quarrel.”very important.

President Hichilema’s leadership during this delicate national moment reminded Zambians, and the continent at large, that strength lies in restraint, wisdom in listening, and legacy in unity.

He led not as a politician, but as a shepherd of peace.

May former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu rest well.

May the memory of his service inspire unity.

And may President Hakainde Hichilema continue to lead with the heart of Africa, a continent rich in wisdom and compassion.

HH APOLOGIZES TO SOUTH AFRICA AS HE ENDS ECL’s NATIONAL MOURNING

HH APOLOGIZES TO SOUTH AFRICA AS HE ENDS ECL’s NATIONAL MOURNING

By: Sun FM TV Reporter

President Hakainde Hichilema has issued a formal apology to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and the people of South Africa following the unexpected failure to repatriate the remains of the late former President Edgar  Lungu as earlier agreed.

The Head of state has expressed regret over the reversal by the Lungu family, which left the South African government’s military honours and logistical preparations in vain.

He  said the reversal of the agreement by the family at the last moment disrupted the carefully laid plans and disappointed a nation that was ready to bid farewell to its sixth Republican President.

In a National address President Hichilema stressed that while the late Mr. Lungu belongs to his family, he also belongs to the people of Zambia, and must be buried with full honours on Zambian soil.

President Hichilema has therefore  announced the end of the national mourning period, urging the nation to begin returning to normalcy.

He has  reaffirmed government’s openness to further engagement with the Lungu family but warned that Zambia could not remain in a state of indefinite mourning.

DESPITE THE SETBACK WE ARE VERY HOPEFUL THAT WE WILL RESOLVE THE MATTER-BAKILI MULUZI

DESPITE THE SETBACK WE ARE VERY HOPEFUL THAT WE WILL RESOLVE THE MATTER-BAKILI MULUZI

Former president Dr Bakili Muluzi has expressed hope that a second resolution can be reached between the deceased family of Zambia’s ex-president Edgar Chagwa Lungu and government over the repatriation and funeral of the former president.

This is comes following the failure of repatriation of the body of their former president after the family failed to avail Lungu’s remains at the airport in South Africa and announced the repatriation would be done at a later date, prompting president Hakainde Hichilema to announce the end of the national mourning period for the former president’s funeral on Friday.

Muluzi, who alongside Zimbabwean president Emmerson Mnangagwa had led the negotiations said it was unfortunate that the impasse has returned and that president Lungu deserved a dignified and respected burial.

The former president said despite the lifting of the period of mourning by the Zambian government, efforts to end the impasse will continue to ensure the legacy of the former president is honored and upheld.

When the initial resolution was successfully achieved, president Hichilema was welcomed at the former president’s home to join the family in mourning ending days of uncertainties on the standoff and igniting hope that the Zambian people would finally be paying last respects to their departed leader. The family had earlier announced that ECL was is fondly referred to had said president Hakainde Hichilema should be nowhere near his body when he dies.

In his address on Thursday, president Hichilema said Zambia cannot afford a state of indefinite mourning and that the country needed to start returning to normalcy. He further assured the family that the government’s doors remained open for further engagement.

FULL SPEECH: PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S NATIONAL ADDRESS TO THE COUNTRY

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S NATIONAL ADDRESS TO THE COUNTRY AT 19:00HRS

Fellow Citizens,

As we mark the 14th day since the demise of our 6th Republican President, Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, we reflect on the past two weeks, not only as a period of mourning, but a time for healing, and indeed a test of our resolve as a peace loving and law-abiding nation.

We wish to begin by expressing our gratitude to the church, our traditional leaders and the citizenry for their moral and spiritual guidance during this time.

We also wish to thank our envoys, including our former Vice President Mr. Enock Kavindele, his Royal Highness Chief Mumbi, our Foreign Affairs Minister, the Secretary to the Cabinet, and all others involved in the search for a reasonable, inclusive and amicable resolution over the unfortunate impasse relating to the state funeral.

We express sincere gratitude to President Cyril Ramaphosa and the people of South Africa for their exceptional cooperation and compassion.

We acknowledge those citizens, including business owners, whose operations have been affected during this difficult time.

We thank you for your resilience, patience, solidarity and calmness during this time.

As you are all aware, our government has made numerous efforts to engage the family and representatives of the late President, in order to reach consensus in this matter.

By last Sunday, 15th of June, a mutual understanding was achieved and was expressed through the joint press briefing in South Africa.

This breakthrough brought relief to the nation, and we were prepared to receive the remains of the late 6th Republican President on Wednesday, 18th of June.

It was agreed that this was to be followed by programmes that would have culminated in a dignified burial on Monday the 23rd of June.

By virtue of this positive development, we extended the mourning period by another 9 days, and we began to fulfil all of our commitments towards a state funeral with full honours.

Yesterday, June 18th, the people of Zambia were prepared to receive the remains of our former President but were surprised by the family’s reversal of the agreed course of action.

At our request, the South African Government prepared extensively, with military honours, mounted by the South African Defence Force, who did so in vain, as the former President’s body was not availed by the family for repatriation.

For this unfortunate situation, we extend our sincere apologies to President Ramaphosa, the Government, and the people of South Africa.

Fellow Citizens,

Our country cannot afford a state of indefinite mourning.

We have done everything possible to engage the family of our departed 6th Republican President, and we have reached a point where a clear decision has to be made.

Given these circumstances, I therefore wish to inform the nation, that as of the end of today the 19th of June 2025, this particular national mourning period is officially over.

This will allow the country to begin to return to some normalcy.

Mr Lungu was not only an ordinary citizen, but our 6th Republican President.

While we recognise that he belongs to a family, he also belongs to the nation of Zambia.

It is therefore correct that our 6th Republican President should be buried in Zambia with full honours, and not in any other nation.

In the meantime, we urge our citizens to maintain calm and orderliness.

As we have stated before, during this difficult time, no amount of lawlessness will be tolerated.

Let us remain united as a nation and maintain the peace we are known for.

In this spirit, we say to the Lungu family, and indeed the people of Zambia, our hearts remain with you.

Our doors, as Government, remain open for further engagement, as appropriate.

May the soul of our departed former republican president, Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, rest in eternal peace.

May God bless you all.

May God bless Zambia.

I thank you.

UK  to cut funding to Zambia’s health sector

ANOTHER AID BLOW FOR UPND GOVT

UK’s Foriegn, Commonwealth and Development Office to cut funding to Zambia’s health sector

By Augustine Sichula

The United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has announced plans to reduce funding to Zambia’s health sector, as part of broader cuts to international aid for developing countries, authorities have confirmed

The decision followed significant budget constraints within the UK government, which is set to reduce its Official Development Assistance (ODA) to 0.3 percent of gross national income by 2027, down from the internationally recommended 0.7 percent.

This will result in a substantial decline in funding for development programmes globally.

Zambia’s Ministry of Health Assistant Director for Adolescent and Reproductive Health, Dr. Angel Mwiche, told Zambia Monitor in Lusaka that the move comes at a time when Zambia was already grappling with funding gaps—exacerbated by the recent withdrawal of $50 million in support from the U.S. government.

“The FCDO has not yet communicated the exact figures, but we are anticipating a significant reduction in funding,” Mwiche said.

He said: “The government is already taking steps to mitigate the impact of these potential cuts on the health sector.”

He added that the Ministry of Health had since proposed an increased allocation in the forthcoming national budget to help cushion the sector against the anticipated funding shortfall.

“We hope the Ministry of Health will be prioritized in the supplementary budget as a matter of urgency,” Mwiche stated.

He also stressed the importance of mobilizing domestic resources, particularly to sustain critical programmes like the national HIV response, which remains heavily dependent on external donor support.

“Public expenditure on health in Zambia constitutes a small share of total health spending. We must take deliberate steps to boost domestic investment in health,” he said.

Mwiche emphasized the Ministry’s push for the treasury to allocate a larger share of the national budget to health in line with the Abuja Declaration, which recommends a 15 percent allocation of the national budget to the health sector.

He further called for enhanced transparency and accountability in the use of health funds, to prevent misappropriation and ensure effective delivery of services.

In light of declining donor support, Mwiche said the government was exploring alternative financing options, including public-private partnerships (PPPs), domestic financing mechanisms, and expanding the use of national health insurance.

“We are committed to implementing health financing reforms and strengthening health systems to ensure more efficient and effective use of resources,” he added.

Following President Hakainde Hichilema’s declaration marking the end of national mourning for Former President Edgar Lungu, the Patriotic Front (PF) Secretariat has today seen a notable police presence.

A check by Sun FM TV News found the Secretariat which was used as a Mourning Center for PF members, opposition figures, and some Lusaka mourners largely deserted, with only maintenance staff and a few party officials present.

It remains unclear why police officers are stationed at the premises.

However, some individuals at the Secretariat alleged that the officers were there to disperse any potential mourners.

MUTU UKULU SIULEWA NKHONYO  –  A citizen’s note to Mr Hakainde Hichilema

Mr President,

Yours is not an easy job especially today when the country is faced with the death of your predecessor and political opponent. I can never imagine the weight of the pressure and expectations that this moment places on your head.

You have to wear two hats, one of yourself as an individual and one as the person in charge of the Presidency of the country and unfortunately you have to priorities the later over the former and embrace every citizen, including those who may have wronged you and indeed those who you may have wronged.

You will be insulted, mocked, ridiculed, accused and doubted by many in this uncertain time. This is inevitable.

Take heart Sir and focus on things that unify and build our country which is struggling to survive the effects of years of great man made economic and social challenges. The peace that we enjoy in our country today is not by accident but rather by continuous investment by all patriotic and well meaning citizens.

While we continue to provide checks, balances and scrutinize your leadership in various areas of national interest, we are also mindful of moments such as this, that require true national unity, patriotism and sobber mindedness.

In my language we say ‘Mutu ukulu siulewa nkhonyo’ – a phrase you will understand as a leader. All we want to say is ‘Zikomo polandila nkhonyo za ziko’. Today, we just wanna say Thankyou and may God bless and guide you.

DEMOCRACY AT A CROSSROADS AS BRUTAL POWER TUSSLE ERUPTS OVER BILL NO. 7

DEMOCRACY AT A CROSSROADS AS BRUTAL POWER TUSSLE ERUPTS OVER BILL NO. 7

A fierce and escalating war of words has gripped Zambia’s political and civic landscape as outrage grows over the looming presentation of Constitution Amendment Bill No. 7 of 2025. What was meant to be a democratic process of reform has turned into a battlefield of bitter mistrust, accusations of exclusion, and cries of betrayal.

Civil society watchdog SACCORD, in a scathing statement released yesterday, delivered a hammer blow to the Executive’s reform agenda, demanding the immediate deferment of the bill. Describing the process as “triggering a conflict of divergence of views,” SACCORD’s Executive Director Arthur Muyunda didn’t mince his words, warning that rushing the bill through Parliament without proper consultation was courting disaster.

“It is the responsibility of the Executive, not Parliament alone, to convene and lead this process by actively bringing key stakeholders to the table,” Muyunda charged, echoing sentiments of widespread discontent.

The bill, spearheaded by the Ministry of Justice under President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration, was introduced under the guise of strengthening the electoral system. But critics are now denouncing it as a veiled power grab that could inflame tensions and tear at the fabric of Zambia’s fragile democracy.

Inside sources allege that some provisions in the bill could “reconfigure the electoral playing field,” prompting speculation that the ruling party is positioning itself for a long-term political stranglehold.

“Certain provisions… may inadvertently lead to increased contestation and undermine the very objective of electoral justice,” SACCORD warned grimly.

The language from SACCORD is unusually direct, signaling an unprecedented fracture between the state and civic actors who once championed President Hichilema’s democratic promises.

Observers are now questioning whether the government has abandoned the principle of participatory governance. Calls for inclusive dialogue appear to have been drowned out by political expediency and a chilling silence from key figures within the Executive.

The Southern African Centre’s appeal was not merely a request it was a veiled indictment of the President’s leadership style.

“We appeal to President Hakainde Hichilema to be remembered as a leader who upheld the democratic principle… one who listened to diverse voices.”

In response, opposition leaders and some MPs have signaled intent to boycott the bill’s presentation unless an inclusive reconciliation process is activated immediately. On social media, the hashtag #StopBill7 is gaining traction as citizens vent their anger.

With Zambia’s democratic credibility hanging by a thread, and the specter of constitutional crisis looming, the question remains: Will the President heed the call for reason or bulldoze his way through history with a legacy stained by silence and exclusion?

As the nation waits, eyes are fixed on Parliament. A brutal confrontation is underway not with guns, but with words, laws, and the will of the people. And in this battle, the soul of Zambia’s democracy is the ultimate prize.

GOVT SAYS KARIBA DAM INFLOWS WILL NOT IMMEDIATELY END POWER DEFICIT BUT CUSHION RECOVERY EFFORTS

By Nelson Zulu

Energy Minister Makozo Chikote says the increasing water inflows at Kariba dam will not immediately eliminate the national power deficit but will cushion recovery efforts following severe drought damage to the hydro station.

According to the latest update by the Zambezi River Authority, lake levels have risen marginally to 478.73 metres above sea level, with live storage now at 14.6 billion cubic metres, reflecting steady increase inflows from the dam’s upper catchment area.

In an interview with phoenix news, Mr. Chikote has explained that long‑term stability will depend on a suite of additional measures, main among them, expanded solar energy deployment.

He says government has accelerated both utility‑scale solar projects and rooftop installations, alongside net‑metering initiatives that allow households and businesses to feed surplus power back into the grid.

Mr. Chikote hopes this combined approach will enhance hydropower and a diversified renewable portfolio expected to reduce load‑shedding, safeguard existing thermal and hydro plants from shutdowns, and support a more resilient electricity supply for all regions across the country.

SANCTIONING RUSSIA WOULD COST USA BILLIONS -TRUMP.

SANCTIONING RUSSIA WOULD COST USA BILLIONS -TRUMP.

The US president says he is in no rush to tighten restrictions despite pressure from allies
US President Donald Trump has said he is not ready to introduce tougher sanctions against Russia despite pressure from allies, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday. Trump expressed concern that additional punitive economic measures would cost his country“a lot of money.”

The American leader has repeatedly said he is weighing new sanctions on Moscow, but has so far stopped short of adopting any. Speaking with reporters at the G7 summit in Alberta, Canada, he said he first wants to see“whether or not a deal is signed.”

“When I sanction a country that costs the US a lot of money, a tremendous amount of money,”Trump said.“It’s not just, let’s sign a document you’re talking about billions and billions of dollars. Sanctions are not that easy. It’s not just a one-way street.”

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has advocated massively increasing sanctions in a bill he introduced earlier this year. It includes, among other measures, 500% tariffs on countries that purchase Russian oil and gas, should Moscow refuse to engage in peace negotiations with Ukraine. Graham, who later suggested exceptions for countries that provide military aid to Kiev, described the proposed measures as“bone-breaking”for Russia.

Last week, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that the proposed sanctions could undermine diplomatic efforts, and urged lawmakers to give the Trump administration greater flexibility to negotiate with Moscow and Kiev.

Trump told journalists earlier this month that the Senate had prepared“a very strong bill,”and that Washington would“use it if it’s necessary.”However, the president reportedly asked Senate Republicans to delay putting it to a vote. Senator Roger Wicker, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Trump had indicated he was not yet ready to support it.

During their latest round of direct negotiations in Istanbul, Russia and Ukraine both put forward proposals to end the conflict. Moscow’s plan would require Kiev to accept the loss of five regions which joined Russia in referendums, pull back its troops from those territories, and adhere to neutrality.

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky dismissed that plan as an ultimatum and ruled out territorial concessions or neutrality. He also insisted on a full 30-day ceasefire as a precursor to negotiations a condition which the Kremlin has rejected.

Then President Joe Biden cut most contacts with Moscow in 2022 over the Ukraine conflict and imposed sweeping sanctions on Russian officials and companies. Trump has since criticized Biden for eschewing diplomacy and vowed to negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. Moscow has welcomed Trump’s initiative, but progress on reaching a settlement has been slow.

RUSSIA’S DEFENSE OF IRAN SHOWS THE NEED TO TIGHTEN SANCTIONS ADVISES ZELENSKY

By CIC International Affairs.

RUSSIA’S DEFENSE OF IRAN SHOWS THE NEED TO TIGHTEN SANCTIONS ADVISES ZELENSKY.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday that Russia’s defence of Iran’s authorities underscored the need for intensified sanctions against Moscow.

Zelenskiy said Russia’s deployment of Iranian-designed Shahed drones and North Korean munitions was proof that Kyiv’s allies were applying insufficient pressure against Moscow.

“Now Russia is trying to save the Iranian nuclear programme. There cannot be any other possible explanation for their public signals and their non-public activity on this,” Zelenskiy said in his nightly video address.

“When one of their accomplices loses their capability to export war, Russia is weakened and tries to interfere. This is so cynical and proves time and again that aggressive regimes cannot be allowed to unite and become partners.”

When Russia deploys weaponry from Tehran and Pyongyang, he said, “it is a clear sign that global solidarity and global pressure are not strong enough.”

Russia signed a strategic partnership with Iran this year. Moscow has denounced Israeli strikes against Iran and offered to mediate. A Russian deputy foreign minister said Moscow was urging Washington to refrain from direct involvement.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said the conflict between Israel and Iran had exposed Russian hypocrisy, with Moscow defending Iran’s nuclear programme and condemning strikes against Tehran while “ruthlessly” attacking Ukraine.

“The only rational conclusion is that Russia cannot be trusted in any situation, and it is always part of the problem rather than the solution,” Sybiha wrote in English on X.

Zelenskiy has accused Russia of refusing diplomatic approaches and rejecting an unconditional ceasefire in the war, which has lasted more than three years.
In his address, he said he was “very much counting on” U.S. President Donald Trump to consider tougher sanctions and boost diplomatic efforts to end the war. Trump has so far ruled out calls to intensify sanctions against Moscow.

Zelenskiy also expressed willingness to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, though he said the Kremlin leader had stayed on beyond the constitutional limit of his office.

That comment was a reference to Russian accusations that Zelenskiy had remained in office without agreeing, under provisions of martial law in Ukraine, to hold an election.

Floyd Shivambu, former deputy president of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and recently ousted secretary-general of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, has publicly labeled the EFF a “cult” during a media briefing this afternoon June 19.

He criticized the EFF’s leadership, stating that the party no longer allows independent thinking and is driven by blind loyalty rather than ideological reasoning.

Shivambu, who co-founded the EFF with Julius Malema in 2013, claimed its internal culture has shifted away from democratic principles, describing it as a “fiefdom” where control trumps ideas.

Floyd Shivambu claims MK Party ousted him over ‘Supernatural Powers’ allegations

Former uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu has sensationally claimed his removal from the party was driven by a fabricated intelligence report accusing him of plotting to oust party leader Jacob Zuma and amassing “supernatural powers” to make people disappear.

Speaking at a media briefing today Thursday, Shivambu dismissed these allegations as “bizarre and fake,” attributing them to “political scoundrels” within the MK Party’s leadership.

Shivambu’s dismissal on June 2 followed his unauthorized trip to Malawi to visit fugitive pastor Shepherd Bushiri, though he insists this was a pretext.

He alleged that his efforts to centralize the party’s finances and restructure branches threatened allies of Zuma, who he claims were siphoning millions from party coffers.

“I was targeted for trying to bring order,” Shivambu stated.

Despite his ousting, Shivambu maintains he remains an MK Party member but announced plans to consult stakeholders about forming a new political party ahead of the 2026 local government elections.

The MK Party distanced itself from his briefing, labeling it a breach of protocol.

Floyd Shivambu alleges R7 million looted monthly from MK party funds

Floyd Shivambu, former Secretary-General of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, has alleged during a media briefing today June 19, at Mhulu Luxury Boutique Hotel in Midrand, that approximately R7 million is being embezzled monthly from the party’s funds.

He claimed this financial misconduct was a key reason for his removal from the secretary-general position, stating that he was targeted for raising concerns about the looting internally.

Shivambu further asserted that the party’s leadership, including those close to MK Party leader Jacob Zuma, were involved in or complicit with the misappropriation, which he said risked the party’s deregistration by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

He noted that multiple secretary-generals and treasurers-general were removed for questioning these withdrawals, suggesting a pattern of suppressing dissent within the party.

Telegram founder will leave his fortune of £17billion to the more than 106 children he has fathered.

The billionaire founder of messaging platform Telegram will leave his fortune of £17billion to the more than 106 children he has fathered.

Tech tycoon, Pavel Durov, 40, has six children with three different partners and is believed to have around 100 more after he donated sperm on a mass scale to dozens of couples in 12 different countries.

Durov has now revealed his plans to leave his fortune to all of his children.

In a recent interview with France’s Le Point magazine, the tech billionaire explained that there is no difference between the children he conceived naturally and those who came from donations.

‘They are all my children and will all have the same rights’, Mr. Durov said. ‘I don’t want them to tear each other apart after my death.’

But none of them will get any cash for 30 years, he revealed.

‘I want them to live like normal people, to build their lives on their own, to learn to trust themselves, to be able to create – not to be dependent on a bank account’.

The billionaire first revealed that he had fathered several children via sperm donation last year after a Russian woman based in Switzerland claimed that he was the father to her three children.

Irina Bolgar, 44, claimed in Russian Forbes that Durov had fathered her daughter and two sons, born in St Petersburg in 2013, 2016, and 2017, and that they carry his name. She also posted pictures of herself and her children.

Mr Durov, whose messaging platform has over one billion monthly active users around the world, is worth £17billion.

Russian-born Durov is under judicial supervision in France after being investigated for alleged organised crime on Telegram.

Mr Durov, who is now based in Dubai, was detained and charged last year by French authorities amid an investigation into crimes related to child pornography, drug trafficking, and fraudulent transactions associated with his app.

In March, he denied any wrongdoing and returned to Dubai.

Netanyahu refuses to rule out targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, June 19, did not rule out the possibility of targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as part of Israel’s ongoing military operations against the Islamic Republic.

The comments came during an interview with Israeli public broadcaster Kan, where Netanyahu was asked to clarify an earlier statement by Defence Minister Israel Katz, who said Khamenei “can no longer continue to exist.”

In response, Netanyahu said:“I instructed that no one in Iran should have immunity.”

He declined to provide further details, adding: “Beyond that, I don’t think it’s appropriate or necessary for me to add anything. I believe actions
should speak much louder than words.”

The remarks add to growing speculation over whether Israel could escalate its offensive by directly targeting high-level figures within the Iranian regime.

Tensions between the two nations have surged in recent weeks following a wave of attacks, including Iranian missile strikes on Israeli territory and retaliatory air raids by Israel. The conflict has drawn international concern, with fears of a broader regional war growing.

U.S. President Donald Trump also weighed in on the matter earlier this week, calling Ayatollah Khamenei “an easy target” for both the U.S. and Israel. However, CNN previously reported that Trump had rejected an Israeli proposal during his presidency to carry out a targeted assassination of Khamenei, believing such a move would provoke uncontrollable escalation. The plan was ultimately shelved.

Khamenei, 85, is Iran’s highest-ranking political and religious authority, and any direct threat to his life would mark an unprecedented shift in the rules of engagement between the two arch-rivals.

As of now, Israeli officials have not confirmed any active plan to target Khamenei personally. Still, the rhetoric from both sides underscores the intensifying hostilities amid ongoing conflict in the region.

Video of 86-year-old Ugandan lawmaker asking to be re-elected sparks concern

Uganda’s 86-year-old Lawmaker, Moses Ali was filmed asking constituents to give him their votes for another term.

Moses Ali is a Lieutenant General, Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister.

He has been in government for 54 years and is vying for the Adjumani West parliamentary seat come 2026.

A video shows him campaigning to his constituents while an interpreter stood beside him, repeating his words in a different language.

However, what viewers noticed was the uncontrollable movements made by his limbs.

Many questioned if he’s healthy enough to be a lawmaker and asked him to focus on his health instead of seeking votes.

Treatment of Black people in U.S. is as bad as life in Iran- Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg and her The View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin engaged in a back-and-forth on the show’s Wednesday episode after the Sister Act star claimed that the way Black people are treated in the United States is as bad as life in Iran.

Iran, which is an Islamic state, is currently embroiled in a deadly war with Israel as the two countries have been launching a series of attacks against each other.

“We have been known in this country to tie gay folks to the car,” Goldberg, 69, told Griffin, Page Six reported. “Listen, I’m sorry. They used to just keep hanging black people.”

“It is the same,” she also said in reference to the situation in Iran, a country critics have accused of having a bad human rights record. But Griffin, 36, begged to differ, stating that the United States in 2025 is different from the current Iran.

“It is not even the same. I couldn’t step foot wearing this outfit in Tehran right now,” Griffin said. Women in Iran are mandated to cover their skin and wear hijabs to cover their hair when they are in public.

Griffin, who is a political strategist, also said defying those rules could lead to deadly repercussions for offenders.

“That’s why I’m saying that it is the same,” Goldberg stressed. “Murdering someone for their difference is not good, whoever does it. It’s not good.”

Griffin, however, reiterated that it was wrong to compare the way of life in the United States to that of Iran. But Goldberg responded saying, “Not if you’re black.”

Griffin once again begged to differ. “No one at this table should go to Tehran,” she told her co-hosts, Page Six reported. Goldberg then highlighted the daily plights of Black people in the United States, though she described her home nation as “the greatest country in the world.”

“Every day we are worried,” the EGOT winner said. “Do we have to be worried about our kids? Are our kids gonna get shot because they’re running through somebody’s neighborhood?”

Griffin told Goldberg that though she got her point, she felt it was “important we remember there are places much darker than this country and people who deserve rights.”

Goldberg chimed in, stating that people may not share the same sentiments as hers. She also highlighted that it took the United States until 1965 to enfranchise Black people.

“They don’t have free and fair elections in Iran,” Griffin responded. “It’s not even the same universe.”

“Just try to understand, from their point of view, this country does not do them well,” the show’s co-host, Joy Behar, told Griffin. The 36-year-old said that though she “completely” got where Goldberg was coming from, she was still of the view that life in Iran is “significantly worse” when compared to the standard of living in the United States.

Ohio man involved in 1994 Rwanda genocide arrested years after fraudulently entering U.S

Afederal grand jury in Ohio recently delivered a three-count indictment charging Rwandan national Vincent Nzigiyimfura, also known as Vincent Mfura, of Dayton, Ohio, with lying on his U.S. immigration and naturalization applications.

After his arrest in Dayton on June 11, Nzigiyimfura appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio the following day.

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the 65-year-old allegedly made false statements, including concealing his involvement in the 1994 Rwandan genocide.

The indictment alleges that Nzigiyimfura was involved in the genocide that occurred between April and July 1994, during which hundreds of thousands of members of Rwanda’s minority Tutsi ethnic group were massacred by members of the country’s majority Hutu population to destroy the group.

The genocide lasted three months and murdered an estimated 500,000 to 800,000 ethnic Tutsis and moderate Hutus. Nzigiyimfura, a Rwandan butcher and trader, is accused of being a leader and organizer of the genocide against Tutsis in the vicinity of Nyanza and Gihisi.

Nzigiyimfura is accused of providing guns, transportation, and material inducements to other Hutus, as well as ordering them to look for and seize Tutsis who were to be killed. He allegedly used his own car to deliver supplies to construct the barricades and set them up in an attempt to kill and capture Tutsis. According to the prosecution, Nzigiyimfura designed a plan to deceive Tutsis in hiding to believe that the killings had stopped, only to have them seized and executed.

Matthew R. Galeotti, Head of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, said, “As alleged, Vincent Nzigiyimfura directed and encouraged murders during the genocide in Rwanda and then lied to U.S. authorities to start a new life in this country. The United States is not a safe haven for human rights violators. Those, like the defendant, who commit immigration fraud to hide their violent pasts will be charged and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Galeotti expressed gratitude to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio, HSI Cincinnati agents, and prosecutors from the Criminal Division’s Human Rights and Special Prosecutions Section (HRSP) for their efforts in pursuing such an important case.

“The indictment alleges this defendant facilitated the killings of Tutsis during the Rwandan genocide and then lied about it on immigration applications in the United States,” the Acting U.S. Attorney Kelly A. Norris for the Southern District of Ohio said. “This egregious conduct will not be tolerated.”

According to the indictment, when the genocide ended in 1994, as alleged, Nzigiyimfura fled Rwanda and later lived in Malawi. While living in Malawi from 2008 to 2009, Nzigiyimfura allegedly submitted materially misleading applications for an immigrant visa and alien registration, including by falsely representing that he was not an alien who had engaged in genocide.

In the presence of a U.S. Consular Officer, Nzigiyimfura affirmed he understood that any willfully false or misleading statement or willful concealment of material facts could subject him to criminal prosecution. The indictment further alleges that Nzigiyimfura falsely stated in an affidavit that he “left Rwanda in 1994 due to the Genocide,” when in reality, he left the nation because he was involved in the persecution and slaughter of Tutsis. He was granted an immigrant visa to enter the United States in 2009 as a result of his alleged false statements and omissions.

Five years later, Nzigiyimfura applied to become a U.S. citizen. According to the indictment, he also willfully made false representations and omitted material facts, including claiming that he had never persecuted anybody, committed no crimes or offenses, and never lied to any U.S. government official to gain entry into the U.S.

According to the indictment, Nzigiyimfura verbally repeated these and other false statements in an interview with a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services official in November 2014. His naturalization application was denied. Nzigiyimfura has been in the United States since 2009.

According to the indictment, in 2018, Nzigiyimfura applied for a replacement Permanent Resident Card (green card) that was about to expire in 2019 and received a new illegally obtained green card with an expiration date of 2029. Nzigiyimfura allegedly applied for an Ohio driver’s license on July 27, 2021, using his illegally obtained replacement green card.

The charges against Nzigiyimfura include two counts of attempted naturalization fraud and one count of visa fraud. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. Any punishment will be decided by a federal district court judge after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and additional statutory considerations.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Rob Painter of the Southern District of Ohio and Trial Attorney Brian Morgan of the Criminal Division’s HRSP are leading the prosecution, with support from the Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs and HRSP Historian/Analyst Dr. Christopher Hayden.

Additionally, the Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center (HRVWCC) is assisting HSI Cincinnati in its investigation. The HRVWCC, which was established in 2009, supports the government’s efforts to identify, locate, and prosecute human rights offenders in the United States, including those who are known or suspected of participating in persecution, war crimes, genocide, torture, extrajudicial killings, female genital mutilation, and the use or recruitment of child soldiers.

The acting Special Agent in Charge, Jared Murphey of ICE HSI Detroit said, “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) is committed to pursuing justice for victims of genocide by ensuring that those who committed atrocities in foreign lands cannot hide in Ohio or any other community in the United States. No one wants a war criminal as their neighbor, and these allegations paint a grim picture of the horror Nzigiyimfura inflicted on the Tutsi people. His indictment and arrest is a step toward justice for those victims.”

Audio Of Cassie Allegedly Threatening To Kill An Escort Releases To The Public

The Diddy trial continues in New York, and now, the public is being made privy to an audio recording of Cassie issuing alleged threats.

Cassie was the primary witness for the Diddy trial, and her testimony has led to all sorts of public scrutiny. Overall, her cross examination from the mogul’s defense team was fairly contentious, to say the least. However, she held her own, and stuck to her convictions.

Last night, things took a turn for the singer as audio from the trial was released to the public. According to All HipHop, this is audio that was played all the way back on May 16th. It features Cassie allegedly threatening to kill a male escort named Sujit. As the story goes, Cassie was under the impression that Sujit possessed an alleged freak-off tape with her in it.

“It’s my fcking life and I’ll kill you. If you don’t show me right now, I will kill you, and I will hide you, and I will cut you up and put you in the fcking dirt,” she says on the tape. “I’m gonna kill you, and then [Diddy] ‘s gonna kill you again. I will fcking kill you. I’ve never killed anyone in my life. I’m going to fck you up. It’s not going to be blood on my hands. Someone else is going to do it. I’m not playing with you, Sujit. Tell me.”

Drake admits he’s lost millions of dollars gambling recently

Regardless of the losing streak, Drake’s still set on making it back with Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Thursday.

Drake opened up about the “other side of gambling” in a candid post on Instagram, Wednesday night, admitting that he’s lost millions of dollars over the last month. Sharing a screenshot of his profits from the last month, the last two weeks, and the last week, he revealed that he’s in the negative for all three periods.

“Gotta share the other side of gambling,” he wrote, as caught by AllHipHop. “Losses are so fried right now. I hope I can post a big win for you all soon cause I’m the only one that has never seen a max these guys max once a week.”

The image doesn’t show specifically what Drake’s been betting on as of late, but both the NBA and NHL Playoffs have been going down over the last month. Additionally, he revealed he was gambling on cricket back on June 2nd. He offered up $750,000 on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to beat the Punjab Kings.

Despite the recent losses, Drake isn’t shying away from sports betting. He’s already placed another $600,000 on the Oklahoma City Thunder to beat the Indiana Pacers in Game 6 of the 2025 NBA Finals on Thursday night. He threw another $200,000 on them to win by a margin of 6-10 points as well. The Thunder currently lead the series 3-2 after Jalen Williams dropped 40 points on Monday.

R. Kelly is reportedly scared for his life following his recent overdose in prison

According to members of R Kelly’s legal team, he broke down in tears during a phone call from prison recently.

R Kelly continues to push for his freedom, and according to TMZ, he’s feeling more uneasy than ever behind bars. Members of his legal team recently spoke with the outlet, revealing that he broke down during a phone call this week.

“He’s emotional, and he cried intermittently on the phone call,” attorney Nicole Blank Becker explained. “Again, out of fear for his life.”

Earlier this month, the disgraced artist allegedly overdosed in prison and had to be hospitalized. Allegedly, he was placed in solitary confinement, and given an increased dose of medication just two days later. He allegedly began to feel extremely ill as a result and was rushed to the hospital. Kelly has since been released, but his legal team suspects alleged foul play.

“That means that, within two days of the filing of his motion, Bureau of Prisons officials administered an amount of medication that significantly exceeded a safe dose and caused Mr. Kelly to overdose, putting his life in jeopardy,” attorney Beau B. Brindley alleged. “They gave him an amount of medicine that could have killed him.”

Before the alleged overdose, Kelly’s team filed an emergency motion demanded his immediate release from prison. In it, they alleged that terminally ill Aryan Brotherhood gang leader Mikeal Glenn Stine told the singer that authorities allegedly offered him freedom in exchange for killing him.

Allegedly, Stine decided to back out at the last minute and tell Kelly about the alleged plot instead. That decision didn’t come without a cost, however. Allegedly, another member of the Aryan Brotherhood has now been ordered to kill both him and Kelly.

The Chicago-born performer was convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges in 2021, and of more crimes including child pornography and enticing minors for sex in 2022. He was sentenced to 31 years, meaning his scheduled release date is December 21, 2045.

Eminem’s Stalker Gets Lengthy Prison Sentence For Home Invasion

Matthew David Hughes broke into Eminem’s Michigan home twice this decade, once in April of 2020 and once in August of 2024.

The influence of the Eminem song “Stan” cannot be overstated, and it sadly parallels real-life scares when it comes to obsessed fans. You may have heard of a couple of break-ins that a fan committed at Marshall Mathers’ Michigan home this decade, and they finally got a conclusion.

According to AllHipHop, a court reportedly gave Matthew David Hughes a lengthy prison sentence on Tuesday (June 17) for breaking into the rapper’s home twice, once in April of 2020 and another time in August of 2024. He will serve a maximum of 30 years on first-degree home invasion and stalking charges, and his eligibility for parole will reportedly open after 18 years served at a minimum.

For those unaware, back in April of 2020, Eminem’s convicted stalker smashed his Clinton Township home’s window with a brick and entered while Slim Shady was asleep. The superstar testified that Hughes allegedly told him he went there “to kill him” before security guards apprehended him, leading to his arrest. He pleaded guilty to second-degree home invasion and received probation plus time served.

However, he returned to Eminem’s home in August of 2024, this time slipping through an unlocked door. Hughes stole a bike before security spotted him, and authorities arrested hm at a Walmart four days after he fled the scene.

In Michigan court, Eminem faced his stalker in person and testified during Hughes’ May 2025 trial for the incident from the previous August. The court wrapped proceedings up in two days after jurors deliberated for less than 30 minutes. In addition, they issued a no-contact order barring Hughes from reaching out to the Detroit legend due to what prosecutors called an obsessive and dangerous pattern.

Elsewhere, Eminem has other legal matters to address. His publishing company recently launched a $109 million lawsuit against Meta for allegedly using hundreds of his songs on their platforms without permission.

We will see where that leads, but at least all this stalker drama is behind him. Well, hopefully, since Hughes didn’t learn after the first time. Nevertheless, at least this didn’t devolve into something much more dangerous and potentially threatening.

Israeli scholar says Netanyahu attacked Iran to delay his court prosecution

0

An Israeli historian and political scientist, Ilan Pappé, has publicly stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to launch a military strike against Iran was motivated by personal legal troubles rather than strategic necessity.

According to Pappé, the attack was a calculated move to divert attention from Netanyahu’s ongoing corruption trial and delay its proceedings.

“He [Netanyahu] is very much interested in not attracting attention to his trial and the fact that he’s now in a difficult part of the trial where he is being questioned by the prosecutor,” Ilan told reporters.

Netanyahu, who has been embroiled in a five-year-long legal battle, faces charges of fraud, bribery, and breach of trust.

The trial, which recently entered a critical phase with Netanyahu under direct questioning by prosecutors, has intensified scrutiny on the Israeli leader.

Pappé alleges that Netanyahu is using the escalating conflicts in Gaza and the recent military action against Iran as a pretext to postpone the trial for several years.

“He is using the excuse of Gaza and the war of Iran to say you have to postpone the trial for two or three years because we are going to have a long war. So that’s his personal ambition,” Pappe concluded.

Iran’s Supreme Leader warns the US not to get involved in the war or they will suffer damages

After several threats and warnings from the US and Donald Trump, Iran’s Supreme Leader has issued a stern warning to the US about getting involved in their ongoing war with Iran.

In a post on his X, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned the US about interfering with Iran’s ongoing war with Israel.

According to him, the US entering the ongoing war will be at its own “detriment” as it will suffer much more damage than Iran will.

In a subsequent post, Khamenei emphasized his initial warning, telling the US that it will “definitely” suffer “irreparable if they enter this conflict militarily.”

These warnings come following Trump’s recent threats to Iran to make a deal and also knowing about the hideout of their supreme leader and how easy it will be for them to eliminate him.

Iran’s Supreme Leader says they will not submit to any demands or dictates

It seems the war between Iran and Israel is far from over as both nations are still poised to keep bombing each other.

In his recent post on X, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei has stated that Iran is not going to surrender to any demands.

According to him, it is unwise for anyone to tell Iran to surrender as there is nothing for the Iran nation to surrender to.

In comments carried by Iran’s semi-official state news agency Khamenei allegedly said: “War will be met with war, bombing with bombing, and strike with strike. Iran will not submit to any demands or dictates.”

Israel sports minister labeled Iran “most vile people on earth” for firing missiles at a hospital

sraeli Minister of Culture and Sports Miki Zohar has condemned the recent attack launched on his country by Iran.

It was reported that Iranian ballistic missile struck Soroka Medical Center, a major hospital in Beersheba, southern Israel, causing extensive damage but no serious injuries.

The hospital’s director, Shlomi Kodesh, reported that the missile hit an old surgical ward, which had been evacuated, and all patients and staff were in protected areas.

Israel’s Ministry of Health noted 271 total injuries from the Iranian missile barrage, with 71 minor injuries at Soroka.

Iran claimed the target was a nearby Israeli military intelligence site, not the hospital, but provided no evidence.

Reacting to this happening, The Israeli minister condemned the act and Criticize no Iran’s choice of site to operate.

He said: “Only the most vile people on earth can fire missiles at civilians lying in hospital beds,”

The comments comes following an Iranian missile strike on Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, Israel, on June 19, 2025.

His statement was in response to the attack, which caused extensive damage to the hospital but no serious injuries.

Iran Armed Forces claim they eliminated an Israeli Military Command, Control & Intelligence HQ

0

Iranian Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas has provided a major update on the ongoing conflict between his country, Iran and Israel.

The Minister had claimed that the Iran Armed Forces have conducted a successful elimination of an Israeli military Command and Intelligence Headquarters.

He made this known in an X post in which he also touched on reports of Iran striking a hospital causing severe damages to patients receiving treatment.

He argued that Iran did not in anyway intentionally strike a hospital and it was just damages that hit a small section of the the hospital which is nearby.

“Earlier today, our powerful Armed Forces accurately eliminated an Israeli Military Command, Control & Intelligence HQ and another vital target.

The blast wave caused superficial damage to a small section of the nearby, and largely evacuated, Soroka Military Hospital. The facility is mainly used to treat Israeli soldiers engaged in the Genocide in Gaza 25 miles away, where Israel has destroyed or damaged 94% of Palestinian hospitals” he wrote

The Iranian minister went on with his statement by accusing Israel as the initiator of all what’s happening between the two countries now.

“It is the Israeli regime and not Iran that initiated all this bloodshed, and it is Israeli war criminals and not Iranians who are targeting hospitals and civilians. Hundreds of innocent Iranians have been murdered in cold blood since Israel launched its illegal war against the Iranian people last week.

We call on Israelis to heed our evacuation orders before strikes and to avoid proximity to military and intelligence sites. Our powerful Armed Forces will continue to pummel the criminals who target our people until they cease and pay for their criminal aggression against our nation.” He added

Israeli Health minister describe Iran’s strike on hospital as a War crime that warrants severe retaliation

0

Israeli Health Minister is the latest to react to the recent attack by Iran which landed ant a hospital.

The Israeli minister released a statement condemning the targeting of hospitals by their opponent, Iran.

According to him, the latest action taken by Iran is what should be considered as a “war crime” they committed.

Political commentators claim his comments aligns with international humanitarian law, specifically the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit attacks on medical facilities during armed conflicts.

This stance has been echoed in various contexts, notably during discussions around the Israel-Hamas conflict, where accusations of hospital targeting have surfaced.

The minister’s position on the attack is said to have reflected on a broader consensus that deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure.

The civilian infrastructure they spoke about includes hospitals though specific incidents remain contentious and debated.

16 billion passwords have been leaked, Apple, Google, Facebook and other users exposed, the largest leak in history

There have been reports of a massive data breach exposing approximately 16 billion login credentials.

The leaked expose datas such as passwords, from major platforms like Apple, Google, Facebook, GitHub, Telegram.

It also includes VPN services, and government portals with immidiate actions needed.

This breach has been described as one of the largest in history with previous leakes not reaching the 16 billion figure that happened today.

The breach also involves 30 datasets ranging from tens of millions to over 3.5 billion records each, primarily collected through infostealer malware and unsecured databases like Elasticsearch instances.

Unlike previous leaks, most of this data is fresh, not recycled, making it highly dangerous for account takeovers, identity theft, and phishing attacks.

The structured format URL, username, password enables automated attacks like credential stuffing.

Trump will decide whether to attack Iran or not in the next two weeks

0

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced that President Donald Trump will decide within the next two weeks on whether the United States will take direct action against Iran amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Delivering a direct message from President Trump during a press briefing, Leavitt said, “I have a message directly from the president: ‘Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.’”

Leavitt emphasized that the quote was directly from the president, addressing speculation about U.S. involvement in the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.

Leavitt highlighted Trump’s long-standing position that Iran must not obtain a nuclear weapon, stating, “Nobody should be surprised by the president’s stance, as he has been unequivocally clear about this for decades.”

She noted that Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, remains in contact with Iranian officials, and the administration views a diplomatic resolution as a priority. However, the president is “unafraid to use strength if necessary.”

While Trump has expressed hope for negotiations, he has also indicated that the U.S. is prepared to act militarily if needed, with discussions reportedly focusing on the potential use of “bunker-buster” bombs to target Iran’s fortified Fordo nuclear facility.

Putin warns Germany not to supply Taurus missiles to Ukraine or they will be directly involved in the war

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a stark warning to Germany, stating that supplying Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine would be considered direct involvement in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Putin emphasized that such a move would severely damage Russia-Germany relations but would not halt Russian military advances in Ukraine.

“Everyone knows that if this happens, it will not affect the course of the fighting. That is out of the question,” Putin said, asserting that Russian forces are advancing along the entire Ukrainian frontline and that their progress is “inevitable.”

He further claimed that Ukrainian troops cannot operate the sophisticated Taurus missiles without German officers, stating, “The use of Taurus missiles in Ukraine would mean Germany’s direct entry into an armed conflict with Russia — it cannot be called anything else.”

Putin also referenced historical tensions, noting the presence of German tanks in Russia’s Kursk region, which he said Germany recognizes as Russian territory.

“In its entire modern history, Russia has not taken a single step against the interests of Germany,” he added, urging Berlin to focus on domestic issues like its car industry and wages rather than escalating the conflict.

Germany has pledged significant military aid to Ukraine, including a recent €5 billion package, but has so far refrained from supplying Taurus missiles, opting instead to support Ukraine’s development of its own long-range weaponry.
