To those who want to harm Chabinga: think twice. If you are unhappy, take the matter to court and fight it legally- Sikaile Sikaile

THE WAR IN THE PF PLEASE GRANT RAPHAEL NAKACHINDA A BAIL

A few months ago I said the PF would not have a presidential candidate. I advised those aspiring to run to find another way to resolve this before it was too late. This problem was created by the PF itself and is driven by the selfishness which is eating the party even now. The Toonse Alliance has collapsed because of that selfishness.

I also said that, as ridiculous as Chabinga may sound to some, the reality is that the PF’s own rules and the constitution of Zambia recognize him. For those who laugh at Chabinga: the PF constitution allows a convention only every five years; the last one was in 2023, which ushered in Miles Sampa as PF president before he handed over to Chabinga and there are still a dozen court documents before the courts.

In fact, Chabinga has influence, and while PF factions respond with arrogance, he cites the laws of Zambia. I would not be surprised to see the court issue bench warrants for those who defied court orders by holding meetings at the party secretariat today. It is my prayer that the court grants Raphael Nakachinda bail as well don’t ask me why.

A few months ago I predicted war inside the PF and many thought it a joke. To those who want to harm Chabinga: think twice. If you are unhappy, take the matter to court and fight it legally. Makebi Zulu is a lawyer ask him whether Chabinga is right or wrong.

My advice is to form new political parties and mobilize as soon as possible. Otherwise, PF is a locked up organization. Politics is not for kids.

The Lunda Royal Establishment of Mwata Kazembe Rejects 2025 Constitution Amendment Process

…As Mwata Kazembe calls for a people-driven and transparent constitutional reform process.

The Kazembe Lunda Royal Establishment, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Mwata Kazembe XIX, has formally rejected the mechanism and approach employed in the 2025 Constitution Amendment process, describing it as fundamentally flawed and lacking genuine public participation.

In a formal submission dated 13th November 2025, the establishment stated that it has “solemnly rejected” the ongoing constitutional review process and “formally recused itself” from making any submissions to the Technical Committee, citing concerns over transparency and inclusiveness.

The Royal Establishment noted that the process, driven by the Ministry of Justice, was limited in scope and failed to embody the principles of a people-led constitution, instead focusing narrowly on electoral and governance issues. The Establishment further raised

Tenant Collapses And Dies During Discussion With Landlord Over Rent

Mazabuka Central Police have recorded a case of sudden death involving a 23-year-old man of Appolo Compound in Mazabuka.

Southern Province Commanding Officer, Moono Namalongo says the incident occurred on Wednesday, November 12th, around 09:00 hours.

Police say the deceased, identified as Tionge Zyambo, collapsed while in a discussion with his landlord over house rent and was later pronounced dead upon arrival at Mazabuka General Hospital.

Zyambo, who was staying with his elder sister, reportedly collapsed twice before being rushed to the hospital.

Brief facts of the matter are that the deceased was staying with his elder sister, aged 25, in a rented house at Appolo Compound.

On the material day, around 09:00 hours, the deceased was resting in his bedroom when his sister called him to assist in negotiating with their landlord, who wanted them to vacate the house.

The deceased came out of his bedroom and sat down to talk to the landlord.

During the discussion, he suddenly collapsed and started fitting but later recovered.

After recovering, he attempted to follow the landlord so that they could continue the discussion, but he collapsed again.

His sister immediately organized a taxi and rushed him to Mazabuka General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police officers who inspected the body confirmed that there were no visible injuries, and the body has since been deposited in the Mazabuka General Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem to establish the cause of death.

Xi Jinping will not be attending the upcoming G20 Leaders’ Summit in SA

Chinese President Xi Jinping will not be attending the upcoming G20 Leaders’ Summit set to take place at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on 22 and 23 November.

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Thursday that Premier Li Qiang will be representing the country at the event. No reason was given for Xi’s absence.

Xi attended last year’s G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, but Li was sent in his place to the 2023 G20 Summit in New Delhi and to the BRICS Summit in Brazil earlier this year. Xi has scaled back international travel in recent years.

Scott Kennedy, a senior adviser at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, told Bloomberg that Xi’s absence at the G20 Summit does not indicate a downgrade in the importance of the event to Beijing.

“I don’t see any drop-off in their view that those global governance institutions are important avenues for China to communicate its message,” he said.

However, it does mean that the presidents of the two most powerful countries will be absent at the G20 for the first time.

Last week, US President Donald Trump confirmed that his country’s officials won’t attend the G20 in protest, again repeating misleading claims about the treatment of white Afrikaners in the country.

In response, President Cyril Ramaphosa says the US decision to boycott the summit was “their loss”.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is also not expected to attend, given that he faces an International Criminal Court arrest warrant, while Argentine President Javier Milei has also decided not to come to South Africa.

The African Union chief has stated that there was no Christian genocide in Nigeria.

US President Donald Trump said that Christians in Nigeria were being slaughtered by jihadists and faced an “existential threat.”

Trump then threatened to carry out an armed intervention in Nigeria, saying radical Islamists were killing “Christians in very large numbers.”

Reacting at a press conference on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in New York, Chair of the African Union Commission, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, told stated that “there is no genocide in northern Nigeria.”

“The complexity of the situation in northern Nigeria should push us to think twice before making such statements,” he added.

Youssouf added, “The first victims of Boko Haram are Muslims, not Christians.”Entertainment center

BBC apologises to Donald Trump over ‘error of judgment’ for edited 2024 clip

The BBC has issued an apology to president Donald Trump after airing an edited clip of the president in 2024 as part of its Panorama programme.

Trump, 79, had threatened legal action against the broadcasting corporation after it was discovered that his 6 January speech had been spliced together, which later led BBC director Tim Davie to resign.

“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol… and I’ll be there with you. And we fight. We fight like hell,” he said in the edited BBC version, which presented in a way where the president was seemingly inciting the violence that we saw during the capitol riots later that day in 2021.

The lines which were spliced together by the BBC were reportedly said nearly an hour apart, which led the president to suggest that the company had ‘defrauded the public’.

In a letter to the BBC, he made three demands, which he suggested would need to be complied with unless they wanted to be hit with a $1 billion lawsuit.

They were:

• Issue a ‘full and fair retraction’ of Trump: A Second Chance?

• Apologise immediately

• ‘Appropriately compensate’ Trump

However, the BBC has now issued a response, which seemingly fulfils just two of the president’s demands.

A BBC spokesperson said: “Lawyers for the BBC have written to President Trump’s legal team in response to a letter received on Sunday.

“BBC chair Samir Shah has separately sent a personal letter to the White House making clear to President Trump that he and the corporation are sorry for the edit of the president’s speech on 6 January 2021, which featured in the programme.

“The BBC has no plans to rebroadcast the documentary Trump: A Second Chance? on any BBC platforms.

“While the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim.”

Prime minister Sir Keir Starmer had previously been accused of trying to destroy the BBC by Liberal Democrats MP Ed Davey, but he refuted this claim during Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday.

He said: “I believe in a strong and independent BBC. Some would rather the BBC didn’t exist. Some of them are sitting up there. I’m not one of them.

“In an age of disinformation, the argument for impartial British news service is stronger than ever, and where mistakes are made, they do need to get their house in order, and the BBC must uphold the highest standards to be accountable and correct errors quickly.”

Germany calls up all 18-year-old men to undergo military tests

0

As part of its preparations for a possible war in Europe in years to come, Germany has introduced new measures due to kick in from next year which they expect will boost recruitment.

Joining their military will still be voluntary for those who wish to sign up, but according to DW, all 18-year-old men will have to fill out a ‘declaration of willingness’.

Women will also have the option of taking this test, but unlike the men their participation will not be mandatory.

Warnings have been issued about the possibility of Russia invading more of Europe within a matter of years, though given their current failures as well as a significant loss of manpower and material in their invasion of Ukraine, the future of Russian aggression on the continent remains unclear.

Many countries are having to face up to the prospect of a world that is not as peaceful as they might hope, with more money being put into defence spending amidst concerns that Russia might try and trigger a war with NATO and effectively end up fighting much of Europe.

German chancellor Friedrich Merz said he would build ‘Europe’s strongest conventional army’ and at the moment it has around 180,000 uniformed troops, but it is aiming to grow that figure to 270,000 and 200,000 reservists by 2029.

The country had military conscription in place until 2011 and under current plans, it will be sticking to a voluntary model. However, from next year, 18-year-old men will have to take some tests for the military.

Under the plans they will all be considered eligible for military service and shall undergo mandatory registration, the ‘declaration of willingness’, which will include questions about their physical fitness and willingness to serve in the armed forces.

The following year in July 2027, there will be a medical examination to see if 18-year-olds are fit for military service, so those born in 2008 will be the first cohort to undergo the exams.

It’s expected that the changes will affect around 300,000 men a year.

Once again, this is not conscription and according to The Guardian, German defence minister Boris Pistorius said mandatory service was a ‘last resort’ and they would rather create ‘an attractive service’.

There are some new incentives coming in for those who sign up to the military, including free access to driving licences and a boost to pay for entry level positions.

“There are no reasons to worry, or reasons to be afraid,” Pistorius said.

“The lesson is quite clear: the more capable and defensible our armed forces are, through weaponry, training, and personnel, the lower the likelihood that we will ever become a party to a conflict – and that benefits everyone.

“That’s the lesson of the Cold War. Therefore, there’s absolutely no reason to worry.”

Diddy’s prison release date has reportedly been moved from May 8th, 2028 to June 4th, 2028 after ‘multiple rule breaks’

Diddy is in a bit of trouble following a couple of serious violations inside of Fort Dix, and his sentence has been affected.

Diddy is currenly serving his prison sentence at Fort Dix. This was actually by design, as upon his sentencing, the music mogul asked to be transferred to this prison, specifically. His wish was granted, although he is already facing some major issues thanks to numerous violations of the prison’s rules.

Firstly, Diddy allegedly got caught sneaking alcohol onto the premises. While he and his lawyers deny this ever happened, the prison is adamant that it happened. Subsequently, the artist was accused of taking a three-way call, which is actually banned. Amid these allegations, the mogul has entered a treatment program within the prison, and has also taken up some jobs.

However, these infractions are beginning to add up, and are going to affect his prison sentence in a negative way. According to People Magazine, the mogul is no longer going to be released from the prison on May 8th, 2028. Instead, he is going to have to wait a bit longer before he can come home.

His new release date is June 4th of 2028. This means he is going to have to wait exactly four more weeks. This will surely come as a disappointment to Diddy and his family, who likely got married to the idea of him coming home on May 8th.

50 Cent Mocks Diddy Over Delayed Prison Release Date

Diddy may have just begun his stay at Fort Dix, but already, he’s earned himself even more time behind bars. Recently, it was reported that the mogul allegedly got caught with homemade alcohol, which he denies. He also took a three-way phone call shortly after getting transferred to the facility, which is strictly prohibited. As a result, his release date has been changed from May 8 to June 4 of 2028, per People Magazine.

As expected, one of the first people to weigh in on the new release date was Diddy’s longtime foe, 50 Cent. He took to Instagram to poke fun at the Bad Boy founder in a since-deleted post. “Diddy gotta chill out so he can come home. want to throw him a party LOL,” it read.

This is far from the first time in recent months that Fif has trolled Diddy online, however. Earlier this month, it was also reported that the father of seven was bragging to his fellow inmates about potentially getting a presidential pardon from Donald Trump.

Of course, 50 Cent had something to say about this, too. “No he not pardoning you, you said some really nasty things,” he declared on Instagram at the time. “Stop crying, you’re in PC in Jersey, PUNK!” The caption was later changed to something a bit nicer.

“I told you he alright, got his appeal going, Diddy good ! Happy Birthday LOL,” it read.

Before that, Fif shared his thoughts on some of the first photos of Diddy behind bars that started to make their rounds online in late October. In them, he seemed to doing well considering the circumstances, smiling and chatting with his peers. “He look happy to me, with all them handsome men around. GOOD MORNING NEW YORK CITY!” 50 Cent wrote.

Suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu’s Chief of Staff Cedrick Nkabinde Credits General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi for Helping Him Find a Job in the Law Enforcement When He was Unemployment in 2018

Suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu’s Chief of Staff, Cedrick Nkabinde, said that in 2018, during a period of unemployment, his friend and former colleague, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, assisted him in securing a position back in law enforcement.

Nkabinde described this support as crucial, eventually leading to his recruitment into the Police Ministry, where he rose to become Chief of Staff based on merit and experience.

“After my suspension, I was unemployed for an extended period, which was challenging both financially and emotionally. In 2018, I reached out to an old friend and colleague, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who supported me in securing a position back in law enforcement.

This opportunity allowed me to rebuild, eventually leading to my recruitment into the Police Ministry under Minister Mchunu, where I became Chief of Staff. I want to stress that my appointment was based on merit and investigative experience, not undue influence.”

NPA vows to secure lengthy jail term for Shebeshxt

NPA vows to secure lengthy jail term for Shebeshxt

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has expressed strong confidence in its case against controversial Limpopo musician Lehlogonolo “Shebeshxt” Chauke, vowing to secure a lengthy prison term for the artist following his arrest for an alleged road-rage shooting .

The 30-year-old rapper was arrested on November 12 at his home following an intelligence-driven operation. The charges attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and malicious damage to property stem from a violent altercation on October 19 along Witklip Street in Ladanna, outside Polokwane .

According to the NPA, the incident occurred in the early hours of October 19 when the complainant and a witness, recognizing Shebeshxt, greeted him in a fan-like manner. The rapper allegedly responded by asking, “Kgane a letlale ka nna?” (Why are they staring at me?), before firing a shot.

The bullet struck one of the men and also damaged the window of a Nissan vehicle. The victim was rushed to Polokwane Provincial Hospital for treatment . Police reports indicate the victim was shot in the upper abdomen and remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit .

The state is building what it describes as a strong case against the musician. NPA spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzangi stated, “We do have the case that can prosecute the suspect”. The prosecution has secured a postponement until November 21 to finalize its investigation and potentially add more charges to the existing docket .

This arrest adds to a string of serious legal troubles for Shebeshxt. He is currently out on R5,000 bail for other pending cases, including two counts of attempted murder, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

The NPA has indicated that his well-documented history of public outbursts and alleged assaults could be used as admissible evidence to strengthen the current case, potentially elevating it to a Schedule Six offence, for which bail is exceedingly difficult to obtain .

Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe commended the investigative teams for their work, emphasizing that the law applies equally to all citizens. “The South African Police Service reiterates that no one is above the law, regardless of their social standing,” Hadebe said .

As the legal process unfolds, the NPA remains confident. The authority’s spokesperson confirmed investigators are working to consolidate additional charges and that the state is prepared to pursue a long-term conviction.

Shebeshxt remains behind bars pending his next court appearance .

RONALDO SENT OFF AS IRELAND STUN PORTUGAL TO KEEP WORLD CUP HOPES ALIVE

RONALDO SENT OFF AS IRELAND STUN PORTUGAL TO KEEP WORLD CUP HOPES ALIVE

IRELAND have stunned Portugal 2-0 to keep their narrow path to next year’s World Cup open and make the Nations League winners wait to book an automatic spot on a night where their captain Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off.

Ireland, who have not qualified for a major tournament in a decade and last reached a World Cup in 2002, needed at least a draw on Thursday to keep their qualification hopes alive, and a first half Troy Parrott double capped their best performance in years.

They still need a win in Budapest on Sunday to claim a spot in next March’s playoffs after second-placed Hungary won 1-0 in Armenia. A draw at home to bottom-placed Armenia is likely the most Portugal need to secure automatic qualification.

But they will have to do it without Ronaldo, whose initial yellow card for lashing out with an elbow to the back of Ireland defender Dara O’Shea was upgraded after review to his first-ever red card for Portugal in his 226th appearance.

Portugal, who were moments away from securing their seventh successive World Cup appearance a month ago before a stoppage-time Hungarian equaliser in Lisbon, fell behind on 17 minutes after Liam Scales headed a fizzed-in corner back across goal and Parrott could not miss.

Well worth the lead, Ireland went inches from doubling it when Chiedozie Ogbene struck the post with a fine effort before in-form AZ Alkmaar striker Parrott found the bottom corner with a brilliant finish from a similar distance just before the break.

Ireland, who defended gallantly in the reverse fixture before going down to a late goal, did not require a repeat once Ronaldo received his marching orders on the hour, sarcastically clapping the delighted home fans as he departed.

Portugal, who are assured at least a playoff spot, are two points clear of Hungary at the top of Group F with a superior goal difference. The Irish are one point further back.

Parrott told RTE that it was “probably the best night” of his life.

“It is such a relief and overwhelming feeling to see the hard work paying off,” he said.

“We all knew how important this game was for us, especially given the other result tonight [Hungary beat Armenia]. I am just overwhelmed, I don’t know what words to give now. I am over the moon.”

Ireland coach Heimir Hallgrimsson praised the backing of the fans and suggested they may have gotten to Ronaldo.

“I can only praise the supporters. We have amazing fans as always. They have a lot of say in this win, they give us energy and help us at crucial times. They deserve this win,” he said.

“[Ronaldo] lost his focus a little bit. Maybe it was the fans as well that helped a little bit. He was frustrated and reacted in a way that he knows he shouldn’t.”

French relief as Algeria frees jailed novelist at centre of diplomatic crisis

Almost a year to the day since French-Algerian writer Boualem Sansal was arrested on arrival at Algiers airport, the Algerian president has pardoned him and allowed him to leave the country.

Sansal, 81, has been at the centre of a bitter diplomatic row between Paris and Algiers and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s decision came in response to a direct approach from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

The writer arrived in Germany on a military plane on Wednesday evening and was taken to hospital.

French President Emmanuel Macron, who spoke to Sansal by phone, said France had used respect and calm to bring about his freedom.

“I thank President Tebboune for this act of humanity,” said Macron.

Although Paris had for months sought to lower tensions with Algeria, it was the German president’s role that secured Sansal’s release because of his good relations with Algeria’s leader.

French ambassador Stéphane Romatet, who was recalled from Algiers earlier this year for consultations because of the row, told French radio on Thursday that the crisis in relations was so deep that “from the start we knew a happy outcome… would go through a trusted third party and the German solution quickly came forward”.

Steinmeier said this week he had asked President Tebboune to pardon Sansal “given his advanced age and fragile health”, so the writer could receive medical treatment in Germany.

Tebboune said on Wednesday he had decided to respond favourably to Steinmeier’s request “because of its nature and humanitarian motives”.

Sansal is being treated for prostate cancer.

He was given a five-year jail sentence in July for undermining national unity with remarks that questioned Algeria’s borders.

The novelist has long been a critic of Algeria’s government, which had not responded favourably to France’s appeal for clemency.

DIGNIFIED BURIAL  EXPERT MAKEBI ZULU WONDERS WHY DIESEL  IS EXPENSIVE IN ZAMBIA

MAKEBI ZULU WONDERS WHY DIESEL ⛽ IS EXPENSIVE IN ZAMBIA

He Writes  

Fellow Citizens,

It is both unacceptable and deeply concerning that diesel, an essential commodity for our transport, agriculture, and industrial sectors, is not only prohibitively expensive but increasingly unavailable to the Zambian people.

When the UPND was in opposition, they made a solemn pledge to the nation, to eliminate middlemen from the fuel procurement chain and thereby reduce fuel costs. That pledge was not mere political rhetoric, it was a commitment to economic justice and transparency.

Today, we must ask: what has become of that promise?

Where are the reforms that were meant to dismantle the opaque networks inflating fuel prices?

Why are the Zambian farmer, the bus driver, the entrepreneur, and the ordinary citizen still bearing the burden of inefficiency and inflated costs?

The absence of diesel on the market is not merely an inconvenience; it is a national crisis. It stifles productivity, drives inflation, and undermines the very foundation of our economy. Leadership must be measured not by slogans, but by delivery. The people deserve answers, not excuses.

As a Presidential Contender, I stand with every Zambian demanding accountability, transparency, and urgent action. We must restore integrity to our supply chains and ensure that essential commodities are accessible and affordable to all.

A possible solution is to immediately audit the fuel procurement process and publish the findings. This must be followed by the establishment of a transparent, competitive tender system that excludes intermediaries and prioritises direct government-to-government contracts. Such a system would reduce costs, ensure consistent supply, and restore public confidence.

The time for truth is now.

I WILL ONLY BE MEETING HH NEXT YEAR AS HE WILL BE HANDING OVER POWER TO ME – MUNDUBILE

I WILL ONLY BE MEETING HH NEXT YEAR AS HE WILL BE HANDING OVER POWER TO ME – MUNDUBILE

Patriotic Front PF presidential aspirant Hon. Brian MUNDUBILE has refuted allegations making rounds that he is a UPND project.

Speaking when he addressed party supporters at PF Secretariat, the Mporokoso lawmaker said people accusing him are enemies of progress, stating that he has never met President Hakainde Hichilema nor has he spoken with him on the phone.

He added that he can’t be a UPND project because Zambians have suffered enough and they require serious leadership and therefore, being President is a serious undertaking which demands for seriousness from those intending to takeover the nation.

Meanwhile Mr. Mundubile has told the gathering that the only time he will be meeting HH will be when he will be handing over power to him.

BRENDA NYIRENDA VOWS ELECTIVE CONVENTION WILL GO AHEAD DESPITE COURT INJUNCTION

By:Thomas Afroman Mwale

Acting Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Brenda Nyirenda, of the Given Lubinda-led faction, has declared that their elective convention will proceed as planned and will not be canceled by the courts.

Ms. Nyirenda urged PF presidential aspirants to continue their campaigns despite Mafinga MP Robert Chabinga’s injunction against the convention.

She made the remarks during a courtesy call by Mporokonso MP Brian Mundubile who is currently at the party Secretariat.

The Lundazi MP emphasized that the party remains committed to its schedule and will not allow court challenges to derail internal democratic processes.

Injunction against in the Patriotic Front is a clear abuse of Court Process- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

Injunction against in the Patriotic Front is a clear abuse of Court Process

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba Wrote;

Following an uproar and strong accusations by key stakeholders such as the Church and others, that the Judiciary was participating in a State House political scheme to destroy the Patriotic Front and Democracy, the Chief Justice Mumba Malila directed that all PF matters must be expedited and resolved.

To this effect, all matters  currently before court were allocated to Justice Mrs. Justice Conceptor Chinyanwa Zulu.

Hence the matters for Miles Sampa, Brian Mundubile, Raphael Nakacinda, Robert Chabinga and Morgan Ngona were all before her for determination and resolution.

So for Chabinga and his lawyers to defy this administrative directive and shop for a forum in Kabwe, is an act of lawlessness and utter abuse of court process.

It is imperative that the Chief Justice ensures that his judges adhere to his directives so that the integrity of the Judiciary is restored and that it is not seen to participate in political schemes designed to destroy Democracy but rises to become a sanctuary and fountain of fairness, equity, righteousness, integrity, and impartiality.

Ignore this defective Chabinga’s Court  order , highly compromised order- Celestine Mukandila

Ignore this defective, highly compromised order

Celestine Mukandila Wrote;

Hakainde Hichilema REGIME’S DESPERATE PLOY TO COMPLETELY GET RID OF THE PATRIOTIC FRONT IS A COMEDY OF ERRORS AND AMOUNTS TO FORUM SHOPPING

We formally reject the said order as it is defective and factually inaccurate.

The order erroneously refers to the defendant as a male person, using the pronoun “himself.” This is incorrect and misleading. Ms. Brenda Nyirenda is a female, a mother, and identifies with the pronouns she/her.

There is therefore no male person by the name Brenda Nyirenda in the Patriotic Front. The order appears to be based on a clear case of mistaken identity or a serious clerical error.

Any suggestion that Ms. Nyirenda is transgender or that the order refers to her is false, malicious, and injurious to her personal dignity and reputation. Such an error is unacceptable and inconsistent with the values of truth, fairness, and respect for individual identity that we uphold.

I further advise my fellow members of the legal profession not to be misled or compromised by individuals who may attempt to use money or political influence to induce a departure from professional ethics and integrity.

There is a ruling of the High Court which maintained Mr. Ngona’s status as an expelled member of the Patriotic Front, and that matter remains active before the courts of law.

Both counsel and Mr. Ngona are therefore treading on thin ice of contempt of court and engaging in forum shopping.

This comedy of errors must be brought to an end if we are to safeguard our democracy, uphold the rule of law, and protect the integrity of our justice system.

What a shame.

Mundubile Frenzy: Messianic Pomp as Unique Value Proposition

⬆️ EXPLAINER | Mundubile Frenzy: Messianic Pomp as Unique Value Proposition

The photograph of Brian Mundubile’s head, captured from behind as he stood before a roaring crowd at the PF Secretariat, has exploded across social media. The image is not remarkable for aesthetics, but for symbolism. It has become the day’s most circulated picture because it sums up the moment: a man stepping into fire at a time when his party is tearing itself apart, a convention hanging by court threads, and a base split between nostalgia, grievance and raw ambition. The online frenzy shows one thing. Mundubile is no longer a quiet contestant. He is now the centre of the PF storm.

The atmosphere at Panganani Road was electric and defiant. Despite a court order that should have rendered the Secretariat “out of bounds,” supporters poured in from the northern circuit, Muchinga, parts of Eastern, and a slice of Copperbelt. They chanted Dununa Reverse. They danced. They cheered. They openly mocked the injunction. This was not a crowd attending a nomination. It was a faction declaring political territory.

Mundubile arrived flanked by loyalists: former secretary general Davis Mwila, Lusaka Mayor Chilando Chitangala, MPs, councillors, women’s groups, ward officials and district mobilisers. Mwila warmed the ground with a sharp message.

“PF needs a president who can get national votes,” he said, dismissing claims of Edgar Lungu’s supposed anointing. Mwila’s tone was surgical.

He was dismantling the Makebi narrative brick by brick.

Mundubile took the microphone and went straight for the big themes: the economy, energy, agriculture, regional identity, and national cohesion. He accused President Hakainde Hichilema of failing across every sector, framing himself as the sober counterweight.

He promised to rebuild what he called “a broken nation,” vowing to fight tribalism and restore stability. His style was calm but firm. His pitch was crafted for delegates, not street cadres. He switched between English and Bemba, reading the linguistic temperature of his crowd. It worked.

What he avoided was as important as what he said. He made no attempt to tie himself to the Lungu burial saga. He offered no pledge to “bring the body home” or continue Lungu’s legacy. He left that to Makebi. Mundubile’s strategy is clear. He wants to run on competence and experience, not grief or nostalgia. He wants to sell himself to PF members who fear the party could shrink further if it leans too heavily on Lungu symbolism.

The resistance he faces is plain. Cadres view him with caution because he represents structure, not handouts, and Makebi has captured their emotional space. But delegates, who will vote at the convention, see him as stable and predictable.

This divide between the street and the conference hall is now the real PF fault-line.

Mwila addressed the rumour machine head-on. “We are not working with UPND,” he said, dismissing Makebi camp claims circulated on anonymous accounts. Mundubile’s team echoed the message. They wanted to shut down any narrative that could poison delegate loyalty. But the very need to clarify shows how deep the fractures run.

If today was a preview of a Mundubile national campaign, the signs are mixed. He projects credibility. He speaks to issues. He avoids flamboyance. He has regional discipline behind him. But PF lacks consequential presence in Southern, Western, North-Western and most of Central Province. To challenge Hichilema, PF needs a national footprint. Today’s event did not show it.

Still, the momentum is shifting. The online wave around the photo. The crowd at the Secretariat. The refusal to honour a court order. The tone of his speech. All point to a candidate who has moved from “possibility” to “probability” in the internal race.

As the party enters its most volatile week in years, Mundubile’s nomination rally has reset the conversation. The competition remains fierce. The courts are watching. Chabinga is threatening to shut everything down. Makebi is mobilising through sentiment and Lungu memory. Delegates are being courted quietly in districts. And the PF base is now deeply polarised.

This story is still unfolding. Our team will track every turn, every court filing, every faction meeting, and every shift in delegate mood as the PF battle enters its decisive days.

EDGAR LUNGU’S PHOTOGRAPHER ENDORSES MAKEBI ZULU FOR PF PRESIDENCY

EDGAR LUNGU’S PHOTOGRAPHER ENDORSES MAKEBI ZULU FOR PF PRESIDENCY

By Mercy Mwanza
Renowned photographer Andy Luki, known for his close association with former President Edgar Lungu, has publicly endorsed lawyer and Lungu family spokesperson Makebi Zulu for the

position of Patriotic Front (PF) President.

In a statement, Luki urged PF members to respect his decision and focus on unity within the opposition ahead of next year’s elections.

“To my leaders in PF who may not support Makebi Zulu, please don’t see me as an enemy because of my decision. Let’s work together to unite the opposition so that Zambians can make an informed choice next year,” said Luki.

He added that his endorsement followed extensive reflection and consultation.

“After deep thought and discussions with my family and friends, I have decided to officially declare my support for Makebi Zulu as PF President at the next general convention. I believe in his leadership abilities and his dedication to the nation,” Luki said.

PF MUST OPEN ITS EYES THESE ARE UPND POLITICAL MANIPULATIONS- Simon Mulenga Mwila

By Simon Mulenga Mwila

What we are witnessing today is not simply internal PF confusion. It is a well-calculated political strategy by the UPND to weaken the PF from inside by propping up individuals who have zero political weight among genuine PF structures.

The truth is simple. The UPND has deliberately chosen to recognize Robert Chabinga as “PF leader” even when everyone can see he has no support from any PF Member of Parliament, no support from PF provincial structures, and no legitimacy from the grassroots. His only loud supporters happen to be UPND officials, Chama America, and Mr. Ground FBI. That alone tells you everything.

The regime knows very well that Chabinga cannot win a ward election, let alone command a national political party. Yet they keep pushing him forward because they benefit from confusion in the opposition. It is a political tactic. Divide the PF, create multiple acting presidents, sponsor fake factions, and then turn around and say “there is no real opposition.”

This is why you see a defective, poorly drafted court order that misidentifies Brenda Nyirenda as a male person, fails to describe any real property called “PF Secretariat,” and then gets violated by Chabinga himself during his own press briefing. This whole operation is not about law. It is about politics and regime survival.

But here is the danger. While the UPND is busy weakening PF through manipulation, PF itself is sleeping. Zambians are suffering, businesses are struggling, the cost of living is unbearable, and yet the biggest opposition party is stuck dealing with characters who cannot command even a branch meeting.

PF must wake up. It must stop reacting emotionally and start thinking strategically. If the party cannot reorganise and unify, it must seriously consider preparing a second political vehicle for 2026. The stakes are too high to gamble with confusion.

The UPND knows what it is doing. They know a united PF is their biggest threat. And they will continue using every tool possible to promote figures who have no mandate, no support, and no credibility.

The question is whether PF will continue playing along with this script or finally take control of its own destiny.

Zambia needs a real opposition, not a circus created for political entertainment.

CHABINGA BLOWS OPEN THE PF POWER STRUGGLE

CHABINGA BLOWS OPEN THE PF POWER STRUGGLE

Robert Chabinga has detonated the clearest proof yet that the Patriotic Front is now in a full-scale internal war. At a heated press briefing in Lusaka this morning, Chabinga declared that effective today, November 13, the PF Secretariat and all party offices across the country are “out of bounds” following a Kabwe High Court order granted yesterday.

Chabinga, flanked by his loyalists and waving what he repeatedly called “lugwalo,” the legal registration papers, announced that the Given Lubinda–led convention is illegal, the nominations are illegal, and the candidates who paid K200,000 each “must go back and collect their money from the real owners.”

He confirmed that court summons have been issued against Brenda Nyirenda, the deputy secretary general in the Lubinda camp, adding that the order has been served virtually to the Lubinda enclave and that a copy will be delivered to the Inspector General of Police.

“This party will not have a convention this month,” he said. “Not under illegality. Not under confusion. We have stopped it. The court has stopped it.”

The attack did not end there. Chabinga accused Makebi Zulu of using Edgar Lungu’s funeral impasse for political capital, saying the late president’s “spirit feels betrayed” by those “turning his burial into a campaign message.” The remarks mark the sharpest internal blow Makebi has taken since announcing his bid.

Chabinga added that his faction “is ready for dialogue,” but insisted the process must start with “respecting legality” and “giving Lungu a dignified closure without political games.”

The press briefing has sent shockwaves through PF structures and aspirant camps. It places the entire Lubinda-engineered convention under a legal cloud, threatens the timelines of the race, and forces aspirants like Makebi, Mundubile, Mudolo and others to confront a new reality: the PF battle is no longer only about delegates and endorsements. It is also about who controls procedure and who holds the legal keys to the party.

This is a developing story. More updates coming as The People’s Brief tracks the legal filings, police response, and reactions from all PF camps.

UPND’s Communication Problem Amidst Crisis

 CONTEXT | UPND’s Communication Problem Amidst Crisis

UPND has a power problem. It also has a message problem. The Chingola incident exposed both. When stones flew toward the President in Chiwempala, the first instinct from party voices was not to wait for a consolidated security brief. It was to talk. Father Frank Bwalya issued a partisan statement that sat awkwardly beside the later, more detailed police report on riot and arson.

Media Director Mark Simuuwe also moved quickly with language that appeared to minimise the scale of the violence, even as videos and still images showed the presidential convoy being targeted and state property torched. The result was confusion. Citizens were left to choose between optics on their phones and fragmented narratives from people who sounded more political than professional.

This is not an isolated episode. UPND has carried into government the habits of a party that spent two decades in opposition. Many senior figures still behave as if they are activists trying to break through an unfriendly media ecosystem. They rush to social platforms, offer personal spin, and often pre-empt formal institutions.

Law enforcement agencies are now on the ground in Chingola, making arrests and reconstructing events. But parallel commentary from party officials and aligned tabloids continues to drip out, sometimes with partial facts, sometimes with speculation. That pattern undermines the credibility of investigators and erodes public trust in official outcomes.

The problem is structural. Almost everyone behaves like a spokesperson. Provincial leaders, constituency officials, presidential aides, and allied influencers all feel licensed to speak for the party and, by extension, for the state. There is no clear hierarchy of voice in moments of crisis. When Obvious Mwaliteta suggested that the party might provide its own security for the President, it raised a simple question in many minds. Is the state failing, or are politicians encroaching on the work of trained professionals. The line between party structures and national institutions starts to blur.

The energy crisis has made this communication gap even sharper. Load shedding linked to drought and reduced hydropower generation has crushed small businesses and reshaped the urban mood. Regional climate data and government statements point to a severe reduction in water levels at major reservoirs, including Kariba, with direct impact on power production.  Yet the public conversation is dominated less by clear, repeated explanations and more by defensive talking points.

Citizens hear accusations that power is being exported while they receive only a few hours of electricity. Technical clarifications arrive late, or in language that feels remote from lived experience. In that vacuum, anger becomes the loudest interpreter.

Yesterday’s meeting between President Hichilema and Aliko Dangote at State House captured this dynamic. Dangote reportedly told the President that once electricity is available, there will be less need to talk during campaigns. The remark, whether intended as practical advice or blunt assessment, has been seized by the opposition as proof that even friendly investors think the government is failing.

Social media excerpts have been cut and shared without context. UPND media structures have not managed to frame the encounter as part of a broader push for energy investment and industrial policy. Instead, they are again reacting to narratives set by critics.

At the core is a simple failure to understand sequencing. In modern politics, whoever speaks first with clarity usually defines the story. In Chingola, the first coherent account that many people believed came from raw footage and opposition commentary, not from the state.

On the energy crisis, the most memorable lines are coming from frustrated entrepreneurs, opposition leaders, and viral posts, not from a disciplined government message that joins drought, reform, and future investment into one story. Even where facts favour government, the presentation often feels defensive, technical, or disjointed.

UPND can fix this, but not without discipline. It needs fewer public voices and clearer roles. Security incidents should be fronted by the police and relevant ministers, not by a chorus of party surrogates. Economic and energy updates should come from the President, the Finance Minister, and sector technocrats, supported by simple explainer material. Party-aligned tabloids and influencers will always exist, but they should echo a central line, not invent their own. The goal is not silence. It is coherence.

Until that shift happens, UPND will keep fighting the same battle on two fronts. On one side, structural problems such as drought, power shortages, and high prices. On the other, self-inflicted wounds from a communication culture that talks too fast, contradicts itself, and leaves space for opponents to set the mood.

The opposition understands narrative power. The ruling party still behaves like an opposition movement that has accidentally captured the state.

GOVERNMENT UNVEILS SUPPLEMENTARY PENSION REFORMS TO IMPROVE LUMP SUM BENEFITS

PRESS STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GOVERNMENT UNVEILS SUPPLEMENTARY PENSION REFORMS TO IMPROVE LUMP SUM BENEFITS

GOVERNMENT has announced a comprehensive package aimed at strengthening Zambia’s pension system and improving access to lump sum benefits, while maintaining the sustainability of the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) and ensuring income security for retirees.

Minister of Labour and Social Security, Brenda Mwika Tambatamba, MP, said the reforms are designed to give members more flexibility and options at retirement, without compromising their long-term income security in form of  monthly pensions that protect retirees from poverty in old age.

The Minister was speaking in Parliament yesterday, in response to a private members’ motion moved by Kanchibiya Member of Parliament, Hon Sunday Chanda MP, who proposed that Government reforms the retirement benefit structure under the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA), to give contributors an option of accessing lump sum payments upon retirement.

Among the key proposed measures are increased flexibility lumpsum access. The current 20% partial withdrawal benefit will be expanded to allow members to access this amount at retirement as a lump sum.

Government is also considering on increasing the percentage beyond 20% to enhance members’ financial flexibility at retirement.

Another measure is that a voluntary sub-scheme will be introduced under NAPSA to allow members to make extra contributions beyond the mandatory rate. The extra savings will entitle members to access additional lump sum benefits upon retirement.

Government is also introducing a Second-Tier Pension for Civil Servants. Civil servants such as teachers and health personnel employed after 2000 who currently only contribute to NAPSA, will be allowed to also contribute to the Public Service Pensions Fund while workers under local authorities and utility companies will contribute to Local Authorities Superannuation Fund.

This will create a two-tier system where NAPSA serves as the first pot and PSPF or LASF as the second, enabling civil servants to access up to 40% lump sum benefits. Other measures are the promotion of Private Occupational Schemes.

Government is encouraging employees in the private sector to either create or join existing occupational pension schemes under the Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA), as over 230 Private Occupational schemes already provide lump sum options for employees.

Ms. Tambatamba emphasised that the reforms are anchored on sustainability and global best practices, in line with International Labour Organisation Convention 102, which permits lump sums under regulated conditions to protect retirees’ monthly income.

She disclosed that the reforms are nearing completion and Government will undertake further consultations in all the provinces, prior to presenting them to the Tripartite Consultative Labour Council and ultimately Cabinet for approval.

“Our goal is to build a pension system that is inclusive, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of all Zambians,” said Ms. Tambatamba.

OVER 1.6 MILLION CAPTURED AS ECZ PUSHES FOR MORE VOTERS DURING EXTENDED REGISTRATION PERIOD

OVER 1.6 MILLION CAPTURED AS ECZ PUSHES FOR MORE VOTERS DURING EXTENDED REGISTRATION PERIOD

By: Augustine Kapambwe

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) is optimistic that the 15-day extension of the voter registration exercise will help underperforming regions improve their figures, as the Copperbelt Province continues to lead in new registrations.

ECZ Corporate Affairs Manager Patricia Luhanga disclosed that as of November 11, the Commission had captured a total of 1,639,457 entries. Of these, 758,259 were new registrations, while 801,198 were updates — including replacements for lost or damaged voter cards, corrections, and polling station transfers.

Ms. Luhanga noted that Copperbelt Province has consistently recorded the highest number of new registrations across all phases of the exercise, a trend attributed to its large population and high voter turnout. Of the new registrants, 405,805 are female and 352,446 are male.

In contrast, Muchinga Province recorded the lowest figures, which the Commission attributes to population size rather than performance.

To ensure broader participation, Ms. Luhanga said the ECZ has deployed voter education facilitators in every ward, particularly targeting remote and hard-to-reach areas.

LAWYER, YOUTH ACTIVIST MARVIN CHANDA MBERI DECLARES SUPPORT FOR MAKEBI ZULU’S PF PRESIDENTIAL BID

LAWYER, YOUTH ACTIVIST MARVIN CHANDA MBERI DECLARES SUPPORT FOR MAKEBI ZULU’S PF PRESIDENTIAL BID

Lawyer and Influential Youth Activist Marvin Chanda Mberi has endorsed Makebi Zulu for the position of President in the Patriotic Front (PF).

In a statement titled “Makebi Zulu: A Man of Law, Courage, and Conviction,” Marvin Chanda Mberi said Makebi Zulu was not merely a tough-talking legal practitioner but an instrument of justice who had left a lasting impact on Zambia’s legal landscape.

He stated that Zulu’s rise from humble beginnings to serving as Member of Parliament for Malambo Constituency and later as Eastern Provincial Minister was an inspiration to young professionals across the country.

He said Zulu had founded Makebi Zulu Advocates, popularly known as “the MZ Empire,” which had become a refuge for those seeking justice.

He observed that the practice of law was inherently political, as it required standing with the voiceless and confronting oppression.

He said Zulu had consistently stood with the marginalised and politically isolated, citing his defence of former President Rupiah Banda during politically charged legal battles.

He noted that Zulu’s empathy for the people of Malambo reflected a moral compass rooted in justice and service.

He said Zulu represented a new generation of leaders who combined courage with reason and had never bowed to political intimidation.

He recalled that after the current government came to power, many distanced themselves from the PF, but Zulu, alongside the late Tutwa Ngulube, had taken a principled stand in defending leaders facing politically motivated charges.

He said Zulu’s loyalty to former President Edgar Lungu was based on conviction, not opportunism.

He added that following President Lungu’s disqualification from future public office, the former Head of State had hinted at a “Plan B,” which Zulu now personified.

He said the PF was preparing for its convention and expressed hope that delegates would recognise Zulu’s leadership qualities.

He said Zambia deserved a viable political alternative and that democracy must prevail.

VIDEO: Pastor proposes to his crush in church and got the shock and slap of his life

Public proposals may be romantic in thought and imagination but when things go south, it won’t be pretty as presumed.

A pastor in Nigeria decided to show his romantic side to his church members by proposing to his crush during service.

The viral video was shared by a lady who was invited to the church by her friend. In the video, pastor is seen on one knee as his members hail on

To the pastors surprise, the lady was very hesitant in accepting the proposal and helping get on his feet. Instead, what followed shocked him.

After urging the pastor to get up, the lady moved in closer to him and used his hands to gesture him to get up again.

When he failed to adhere, the lady used the back of her hand to slap the Spirit of God out of the pastor before storming out of the auditorium.

The members of the church could only look on and ponder what might have gone wrong and where the pastor might have failed her.

Wife who cried while reading tribute at her husband’s funeral, who was victim of helicopter crash, stops family from conducting DNA test on their child to help identify the  body

In a more heartbreaking incident, the wife of the late Samuel Aboagye has been accused of infidelity and having a child from the side.

According to reports and the family of the late Samuel, the wife prevented authorities from accessing their child during investigations.

Authorities required the DNA of the child during the investigations to help identify the body of her late husband.

However, the wife denied them that privilege. She refused to present the child or provide DNA sample of the child to help identify Samuel’s body.

Currently, the family of the late Samuel is still forcing for DNA to be done although the investigations are over.

It is also reported that Samuel had questions about the legitimacy of the baby while he was alive and had always doubted being the father.

Samuel’s wife has filed a motion with the court to prevent Samuel’s family from running any DNA Test on the child.

It is alleged that Samuel’s widow was having an affair with a Memeber of Parliament in the Ashanti Region whose identity has been withheld.

The whole allegation has sparked controversy online. People are saying the wife who looked innocent and tearful might not be innocent after all.

Father catches daughter in a room of her boyfriend meanwhile she had to be in school(watch)

This generation seems to be more focused on relationships more than education. They prioritize doing the do rather than their books.

A father caught his daughter in the room of her boyfriend at time she was supposed to be in the classroom learning.

In the viral video, both parents of the girl are seen dealing with the teenagers. The father drags the boy by the neck of his shirt before releasing slaps of wisdom into him.

The girl was also not spared from the punishment. After being handed over to the mother, she rained slaps unto her.

https://youtu.be/O_6fi0cQhbo?si=pCdXclwV3yPcn6lS

The video was recorded by a bystander from outside the compound who narrated the whole thing.

It seems it was a usual thing for the girl to hide there after she leaves home to attend classes, since school is on vacation.

Comments about the incident are both funny and sympathetic. Some sympathize with the boy for the beatings he received.

Others also laughed about the whole situation, claiming it serves them right. Someone also asked who leaked the location to the girls parents.

Trump doomed on Epstein vote as GOP senators poised to defy him in ‘unusual’ move- analyst

With the vote to release the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking files in Congress imminent, and its bipartisan passage in the House all but guaranteed, the action will turn to the Senate, where it will have to overcome the filibuster and get a significant amount of Republican support there as well.

But despite President Donald Trump lobbying hard to try to crush the vote, as more and more embarrassing details about his relationship with the deceased financier and sexual predator continue to trickle out, he is probably unable to stop it in the Senate either, analyst John Heilemann told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Thursday.

“No Republican is going to want to be seen covering up for the most vilified pedophile in recent American history,” said anchor Joe Scarborough. “Then what are these Republican senators going to do when the White House starts saying, hey, kill the Epstein files? We want to keep them away from your voters, your constituents, the people that are going to vote for you in 2026. I don’t think it’s as open and closed of a political situation as some people are suggesting right now.”

“13 Republican senators, sitting Republican senators up for reelection,” said Heilemann. “You’ve got, in addition to that, a bunch of female Republican senators who aren’t up for reelection right now … the words of the Epstein survivors will be ringing in their ears. You have people like Joni Ernst and Thom Tillis, who both are retiring. It doesn’t take that much work to to get to even if … as Ali is reporting, if the threshold on this vote is going to be 60, it doesn’t take that much work to get you to the number.”

“If you start to put together the relatively moderate establishment Republicans, the female Republican senators, and Republican senators who are retiring and may not be totally in love with Donald Trump and kind of are looking for some way to, as they walk out the door, reclaim some of the reputation that they lost by by being overly loyal to him over the course of the first and second terms,” said Heilemann. “I don’t know, I might — maybe I’m a dreamer and obviously things are, It always turns out to be tough to get anything through the Senate on a 60-vote threshold.”

“But this issue, Joe, to your point earlier, has cut through in a way that almost nothing else has,” he added. “It is the rare bipartisan issue in the Trump era. It is a thing that is both overwhelmingly favored by the mainstream, by the overall electorate, by the general electorate, and also overwhelmingly favored in an intense and passionate way by the Republican MAGA base. That is a really unusual set of politics on this, and I just don’t think as the temperature rises and the focus on this shifts to the Senate, I just don’t think it’s at all a foregone conclusion that this thing is going to die there.”

Female student fights lecturer for seizing her phone during examination

A female student got into it with her lecturer after she was caught with her phone inside the exams hall while exams was ongoing.

The incident occurred at the Niger Delta University when as student of the department of History and Diplomacy squared it with her lecturer.

According to reports, the lecturer seized the students phone which she was using inside the exams hall while the examination was still in session.

In the video which has since gone viral, the lecturer and the students are recorded as they engage in a physical confrontation.

The lecturer is seen hailing blows on the female student who persistently fights back. The lecturer went a further to use his head to hit her.

The confrontation went on for a while before other invigilators came to intervene and end the altercation.

CNN host cuts off Republican lawmaker for changing subject from Epstein to Obama

CNN’s John Berman cut off a Republican congressman when he tried to change the subject from Jeffrey Epstein to Barack Obama.

The House Oversight Committee released thousands of emails written by the late sex offender, many of which mention President Donald Trump by name, and the “CNN News Central” host asked Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) to comment on the White House response.

“You have been working a long time to get this information released,” Berman said. “The White House yesterday held a meeting at the Situation Room with some of the highest officials in the country, with members of your own party to try to get them to vote against the discharge petition, which you’re against, too. I want to say, but why do you think the White House is working so hard as you’re working to get stuff released? Why is the White House working so hard to keep information from being released?”

Sessions, who serves on the Oversight Committee, suggested the Trump administration was handling the matter the same way as preceding administrations.

“In fairness to the circumstance, I would say probably for the same reason that President Obama’s administration, President [Joe] Biden’s administration did not release this data,” Sessions said. “The information that we get, where it’s factually based and comes from official law enforcement about the conclusions that they drew about who was involved, is one matter, to simply take things that are emails and accusations that people make is not a legitimate way for us to approach this. So I assume that just like President Biden and President Obama and their administrative team at the Department of Justice probably concluded that it needed to be done in a different way, I did not ever really approach it. They did not approach it, and we’re trying to do that now.”

Berman was not persuaded by his explanation and noted one significant difference.

“As far as I know, I will say neither President Obama nor President Biden is mentioned in these trove of documents that have been released so far,” Berman said. “Donald Trump is repeatedly.”

VIDEO: TikTok influencer ordered to pay $1.7 million for snatching someone’s husband and ruining the marriage

A North Carolina court has ordered a social media influencer to pay $1.75 million in damages after a lawsuit filed by her manager’s wife accused her of having an affair that broke up their marriage.

Brenay Kennard is a TikTok and Instagram influencer. She has 2.9 million followers on TikTok and over 240k on Instagram.

The plaintiff, Akira Montague, has filed a rare “alienation of affection” lawsuit against social media star Brenay Kennard in May 2024.

The claim, which is only allowed in six U.S. states (including North Carolina), alleges Kennard is responsible for the end of her marriage to Timothy Montague, who is now Kennard’s husband.

The statute that allows a spouse to seek damages from a third party accused of interfering in a marriage.

According to court documents, the wife claimed Kennard “engaged in behavior designed to seduce” her husband and “flaunted her affair and romantic relationship … in public and private places.”

The lawsuit also alleges Kennard began an affair with Timothy while he was still married, “flaunted” it online, and posted pictures of Akira’s children without her consent.

The woman further alleged that the affair led her husband to leave their home and children, eventually moving in with Kennard.

On Monday, the court ruled in favor of the wife. She was awarded $1.75 million in damages.

US Senators say government could shut down again in January

Senators are bracing themselves for yet another government shutdown, just hours after concluding a 43-day freeze.

The belief in Congress is that outstanding bills will lead to another shutdown as early as January next year. Representatives say certain amendments to proposed bills will make “the whole thing fall apart” and lead to a stall in government once more. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) told Politico that certain demands would see a complete rejection of the bill from the Democrats.

He said, “If they want to add poison pills, obviously the whole thing will fall apart.” It comes as Politico suggested that “any partisan demands” could “deadlock the effort” to pass the remaining nine bills. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise has since said they need to “find a resolution” to get the government back in motion.

Scalise said, “We’ve got to just find a resolution to get the lights back on. But the real negotiation is going to be: Can we get an agreement on how to properly fund the government with individual appropriations bills, packages of appropriations bills?”

Trump’s approval rating during the government shutdown has slumped, with pollster Nate Silver suggesting one issue is a decisive factor in this decline. RealClearPolling recorded a -8.9% drop in approval, while the Newsweek Tracker shows a 43% approval rating, down from 44% this time last month.

Silverwrote, “It seems very likely that threatening SNAP benefits was the primary cause of the big downshift in Trump’s approval ratings beginning ~3 weeks ago.”

Silver would also suggest Democrats had “more leverage” on the government shutdown than they first thought. He added, “You’d think that downturn, plus the elections last Tuesday, would give Democrats considerably more leverage on the shutdown. But instead, they elected to punt.”

The “huge blunder” may also be a reason for recent Democrat victories in the New York mayoral election and governor races in Virginia and New Jersey. Silver suggested the fears of benefits cuts, ongoing healthcare concerns and SNAP benefits were issues that are “real enough to contribute to Democrats absolutely crushing Republicans.”

Chinese scientists are developing a drug to extend human life to 150 years

In a groundbreaking revelation, Chinese scientists are reportedly developing a drug capable of extending human lifespan up to 150 years.

A Chinese startup called Lonvi Biosciences (based in Shenzhen) is reported to be working on an anti-ageing pill derived from compounds in grape seed.

Lonvi Biosciences is developing oral supplements derived from procyanidin C1 (PCC1), a natural compound extracted from grapeseed.

The experimental treatment, based on advanced cell regeneration and anti-aging research, is said to target the biological mechanisms responsible for aging and age-related diseases.

Early human trials, involving just 17 participants over three days, reported no major side effects and subtle markers of cellular rejuvenation, according to Lonvi executives.

If successful, the drug could revolutionize modern medicine and redefine what it means to grow old in the 21st century.

According to media coverage quoting the company’s chief technologist, the company believes it’s “possible to live up to 150 years [of age]” in the coming years via this treatment.

Recently, China’s president, Xi Jinping was heard discussing the possibility of living eternally with Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

Robert Mugabe Jnr Fined US$300 for Drug Possession

Robert Tinotenda Mugabe, the son of the late former President Robert Mugabe, has been fined US$300 after being convicted of illegal drug possession in Harare.

Plea and Court Appearance
Mugabe Jnr appeared before Harare Magistrate Lisa Mutendereki, where he pleaded guilty to possessing two grams of dagga. The court heard that the offence contravened Zimbabwe’s drug laws, which prohibit the possession of dangerous substances without authorization.

Mitigation and Sentence
In mitigation, Mugabe Jnr told the court that he is a single father of two children and asked the magistrate for leniency. Magistrate Mutendereki considered his personal circumstances before imposing the fine.

Alongside the monetary penalty, Mugabe Jnr was also sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, which was wholly suspended for five years on condition that he does not commit a similar offence within that period.

Avoids Jail Time
The ruling means Mugabe Jnr will avoid serving jail time unless he reoffends. The court emphasized the importance of compliance with the law and warned that any future violations would activate the suspended sentence.
