The Gospel According to State House: The Nevers Mumba Story- Dr Mwelwa

The Gospel According to State House: The Nevers Mumba Story

By Dr Mwelwa

Dr. Nevers Sekwila Mumba is like a man who always dances where the music is playing the loudest—not because he enjoys the music, but because he is afraid to be alone in the quiet. His life feels like an old village story told by the fire—a story of a preacher who left the pulpit and walked into politics, only to become the kind of man he used to warn others about. As our elders say, “If you follow the footsteps of an elephant, be ready to walk through the dirt it leaves behind.” And that’s what has happened to Dr. Mumba.

He goes where the power is, where the food is plenty and the fire is warm. From President Kaunda to Chiluba, Mwanawasa to Banda, Lungu to Hichilema—he has always found his way into the hearts of those in charge. He praises them, offers advice, and in return, he enjoys the comforts that come with being close to power. But when a man spends all his time in the chief’s hut and never in the fields, he forgets how to grow his own food. Dr. Mumba’s survival seems to depend on who is in State House, not on the strength of his own ideas or actions.

This is not just opinion—it’s something many of us have seen with our own eyes. I remember watching Pastor Mumba on TV when I was still in school. He warned people not to remove President Kaunda, saying it would bring bloodshed. But when President Chiluba came into power, Pastor Mumba was suddenly a regular guest at State House. President Chiluba even became the guest of honour at Victory Ministries events. I sat there listening as the same man who once warned against change now praised the new leader and attacked anyone who dared criticize him.

When President Mwanawasa took over, Dr. Mumba again found his way to the new leader. He began attacking the opposition—Sata, the UPND—calling them all sorts of names. President Mwanawasa, like those before him, listened to the sweet words and made Mumba Vice President. It didn’t stop there. The words I hear him speak today are not new. They are the same ones he used when he was close to President Lungu in 2016. All he does is change the name of the president he is talking about. The script stays the same.

If Zambia gets a new president tomorrow, believe me, Dr. Mumba will be the first to offer him MMD, even though the party no longer has members, structures, or a clear direction. MMD today lives only in his mouth. He has turned it into a tool for survival, a way to stay relevant and enjoy the benefits that come from being seen as a political leader. There is no team behind him, no election win to speak of, but still he carries the name of the party like a key that opens doors.

We say in Africa, “The one who ties his goat to someone else’s fence must ask before milking it.” Dr. Mumba has tied his future to every president since independence. He has never built something of his own that stands without help. For the last forty years, the God he preaches has fed him, yes—but it is through the hands of presidents that the food has come. He is, in every sense, one of the luckiest Zambians alive.

And yet, luck is not the same as wisdom. One can eat well and still forget who he is. A man of God should be able to stand alone, speak truth to power, and live by faith. But this man has built his church inside the walls of government. He enjoys luxury, foreign trips, expensive suits—not because the people have lifted him there, but because he is close to the throne. Without that closeness, what would he be? Just a preacher with no crowd

There’s an old saying: “The child who is always carried never knows how far the road is.” Dr. Mumba has been carried by power, by praise, by position. But when the one carrying him grows tired, he falls. Maybe it’s time he walks on his own, speaks from his own strength, and earns his place not through favour but through action.

Because a man who only speaks when the President is listening is not a prophet. He is just another man in fine clothes, looking for an invitation to dinner.

Still, we are African. We do not throw away the seedling because it has not grown yet. Maybe, just maybe, Dr. Mumba can find his way back to the truth, the real path he once preached. But that path cannot be reached through praise-singing and handshakes. It must be walked with humility, with quietness, and with the knowledge that “a man who wears two faces will one day forget which one is truly his.”

Let him remember—presidents come and go, but truth remains. Let him know—the music fades, but the steps we leave behind are remembered

You might think Hichilema is boring but boring leaders deliver effectively like Mwanawasa – Nevers Mumba

You might think Hichilema is boring but boring leaders deliver effectively like Mwanawasa – Nevers

MOVEMENT for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) president, Nevers Mumba has voiced his support for president Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership style which maybe perceived as unassuming or even boring by some.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1ULUUd5qQA/?mibextid=oFDknk

Dr Mumba asserted that in challenging times, leaders like Hichilema who are calm are the ones that navigate nations through tough situations and deliver effective results.

The MMD leader, who is part of the alliance with UPND, was speaking yesterday when he addressed the media in Lusaka.

According to Dr Mumba, the president might be considered boring to some because he does not say dramatic things to excite anyone as he is focused on delivering tangible results.

He argued that true leadership in difficult times requires focus, discipline, and attention to detail – the qualities that president Hichilema possesses in abundance.

“President Hichilema might not be as exciting or dynamic as some of you might prefer, but that’s because he is focused on the real issues that affect Zambia, he talks planning, strategy, and problem-solving,” Dr Mumba said.

“While some Zambians may yearn for the spectacle and excitement of chaotic politics, President Hichilema refuses to engage in such antics, instead prioritising stability, progress, and effective governance. His approach might appear ‘boring’ to some, but it’s precisely his sober and meticulous style that makes him a strong leader.”

He added that President Hichilema’s effectiveness as a leader is rooted in his personal qualities, his God-given gifts rather than the perks of political power.

“He entered politics with a sense of purpose and a set of skills honed through his own success, and these qualities have enabled him to positively impact the lives of many Zambians,” he said.

Dr Mumba said President Hichilema, whom he referred to as a blessing to the nation, was a promising leader likening him to the Late President Levy Mwanawasa.

“I have been in politics for 28 years and in public life for 46 years, so I know a promising leader when I see one however, President Hichilema is one of a true leader because he possesses the qualities of an effective leader like decisiveness, foresight, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of Zambians,” he noted.

“I see many similarities between President Hichilema and the late President Levy Mwanawasa. When people criticised Mwanawasa and called him a ‘cabbage,’ I recognised his focus and discipline and today, Mwanawasa is regarded as one of Zambia’s best leaders. President Hichilema too possesses those qualities because he is not flashy, not a crowd-pleaser nor populist.”

Meanwhile, Dr Mumba backed the constitutional amendment stating that, it seeks to tackle the disparities and barriers that prevent certain segments of society from fully contributing to our country’s progress.

“Government should speed up the process to amend the constitution because it is aimed at addressing the lapses that hinder and segregate some sections of society from participating in National development.

“If any politician opposes the constitutional amendment, then we are not in politics for the same reason,” added Dr Mumba…https://kalemba.news/local/2025/04/02/you-might-think-hichilema-is-boring-but-boring-leaders-deliver-effectively-like-mwanawasa-nevers/

Failures Always Play the Blame Game: The Case of President Hakainde Hichilema

Failures Always Play the Blame Game: The Case of President Hakainde Hichilema- Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

By Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Leadership demands accountability, vision, and decisive action. However, when a leader constantly shifts blame for failures while stealing credit for successes they had no role in achieving, it exposes a deeper flaw: an inability to lead. President Hakainde Hichilema has mastered the art of political evasion, endlessly blaming others for his administration’s incompetence while fraudulently parading the accomplishments of his predecessors as his own.

The Endless Blame Game

Since taking office, Hichilema has turned the Patriotic Front (PF) into his personal scapegoat for every crisis plaguing Zambia. Whether it is the astronomical fuel prices, unbearable mealie meal costs, excessive load shedding, the crushing burden of doing business, reckless printing of new banknotes, or disastrous constitutional amendments, his answer is always the same: blame the PF. Instead of focusing on solutions, he clings to excuses, hoping Zambians will not notice his failure to deliver real progress.

His hypocrisy is glaring. He condemns the PF when it suits him but shamelessly claims credit for their successes. A prime example is the Kazungula Bridge, a landmark infrastructure project fully conceived and executed under the PF government. Despite playing no role in its planning or construction, Hichilema boasts about it as if it were his own achievement. This blatant deception reveals a leader more interested in manipulating public perception than actually governing. It is not leadership; it is political fraud.

Turning on His Own Cabinet

As public frustration grows and his blame game strategy weakens, Hichilema has found new scapegoats: his own ministers. In a shocking display of political desperation, he recently accused them of attending cabinet meetings drunk. This reckless statement raises two critical concerns. First, it confirms his government’s internal dysfunction. Second, it exposes his cowardice in taking responsibility for his administration’s failures.

When he assumed office, he took an unusually long time selecting his cabinet, boasting that he was doing it “methodically.” His exact words were, “You will see the kind of cabinet that I’m going to put in place. Very meticulous.” Yet today, he publicly humiliates the very people he handpicked. This either means he has no ability to judge competent leaders or that he is, once again, inventing excuses to mask his own shortcomings. If his ministers are failing, the ultimate responsibility lies with him. So, what changed? The answer is simple. Hichilema has run out of excuses, and now he is attacking his own allies to distract from his own incompetence.

The Hallmarks of a Failed Leader

Weak leaders blame others. Strong leaders take responsibility. Hichilema has built his presidency on deflection, finger-pointing, and deceit. Whether blaming the PF, his own ministers, or external factors, his failure to own up to his responsibilities cements his legacy as an unfit and incapable leader.

Zambians did not elect a complainer; they elected a problem solver. They expected economic relief, job creation, and real governance, not endless excuses. Instead, they have received nothing but increased suffering, rising debt, and an administration obsessed with excuses rather than solutions. If Hichilema continues his cowardly approach, he will face the full rejection of the very people who once believed in him.

Conclusion

Hakainde Hichilema’s presidency is defined by deception, incompetence, and blame-shifting. From blaming the PF for every economic disaster to throwing his own ministers under the bus, he has shown a complete inability to govern with integrity. A true leader owns up to challenges and finds solutions; a weak leader plays the blame game and evades responsibility.

Zambia deserves better. The nation does not need a president who hides behind lies; it needs a leader who delivers real results. If Hichilema continues on this path, history will not remember him as a reformer but as a weak and failed leader who talked big, blamed everyone, and accomplished nothing.

Diplomatic Crisis; Hichilema Blocks King Letsie of Lesotho from Attending the 2025 Kuomboka Ceremony

President Hichilema Cancels King Letsie III of Lesotho to be Guest of Honour for the 2025 Kuomboka Ceremony

Maseru- Tueday, 1st April 2025

His Majesty King Letsie III, Head of State of the Royal Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho 🇱🇸was scheduled to arrive in Lusaka and travel to Mongu to officiate as Special Guest of Honour, to the 2025 Kuomboka and Kufuluhera  Traditional Ceremony.

According to sources from Maseru, Zambia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has not cleared the visit of King Letsie III to the Kuomboka Ceremony.

King Letsie III informed President Hichilema of the visit to the Kuomboka Ceremony during the margins of the Energy summit that was held in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

The two held a bilateral meeting that culminated into high prospects of deepened bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The two were attending the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit held on January 27-28, 2025, in Dar-es-Salaam.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of Kingdom of Lesotho proceeded to announce that His Majesty King Letsie III informed President Hichilema of
his desire to honor the invitation of their
Majesties; King Lubosi lmwiko ll, the host;
and Chitimukulu Kanyanta Manga II.

Although the BRE has not announced the official guest of honour, Government has announced that President Hakainde Hichilema is expected to attend the Kuomboka ceremony.

The development was announced by the Western Provincial Minister, Hon. Kapelwa Mbangweta at a press briefing held in Mongu on Tuesday, 1st April 2025.

In 2024, the Baorotse Royal Establishment (BRE) made a dramatic decision when it declined to invite President Hichilema as Guest of Honour.

Instead, it insisted that the Chitimukulu would grace the event as the Special Guest of Honor.

State House proceeded to announce that President Hichilema would attend the ceremony as an ordinary tourist

Koumboka is a centuries-old Lozi tradition
that marks the annual migration of the Litunga (Lozi King) and his people from the floodplains of the Barotse Floodplain to
higher ground.

It is said to be more than a
migration; but a celebration of resilience, unity, and Lozi heritage.

Bogus Judicial Service Commission Advertisement: A Cover-Up for Hakainde Hichilema’s Tribal Appointments- Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Bogus Judicial Service Commission Advertisement: A Cover-Up for Hakainde Hichilema’s Tribal Appointments

By Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

The recent advertisement by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) inviting qualified individuals to apply for judicial positions is nothing but a sham. Reliable sources reveal that this so-called recruitment process is merely a cover-up for President Hakainde Hichilema’s predetermined tribal appointments.

The Real Plan: A Pre-Approved List

Before the advertisement was even published, a list of 20 names exclusively from the Zambezi region had already been prepared at State House and sent to the Ministry of Justice. The original plan was for the Minister of Justice to present these names to Parliament for ratification. However, realizing that the list’s tribal bias would be too obvious, the government opted to delay its submission and stage a deceptive public recruitment process instead.

This advertisement therefore serves no real purpose other than to mislead the public into believing that a transparent selection process is underway. In reality, the appointments have already been made behind closed doors based on tribal considerations.

A Strategic Judicial Takeover

Among those on the predetermined list is Mr. Akafumba, who was recently removed from his position as Permanent Secretary. Reliable sources suggest that he is being positioned for an appointment to either the Court of Appeal or the Supreme Court, with the ultimate goal of making him Deputy Chief Justice or even Chief Justice.

This strategic placement is not about merit but about ensuring that the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) tightens its grip on key judicial institutions, including the Constitutional Court, the High Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court.

The Hidden Agenda: 2026 Election Petitions

The UPND’s actions reveal a calculated plan to manipulate the judiciary ahead of the 2026 general elections. With their growing unpopularity and an almost certain defeat looming, they are desperate to position loyalists in key judicial roles to influence potential election petitions.

The objective is clear. If they cannot win at the ballot box, they want to control the courts to secure their stay in power through legal maneuvers.

A Threat to Zambia’s Democracy

The judiciary is meant to be independent and impartial, yet under President Hichilema’s leadership, it is being weaponized for political survival. This bogus recruitment drive by the JSC is an insult to Zambians who expect fairness, professionalism, and integrity in judicial appointments. It exposes the UPND government’s disregard for democratic principles and the rule of law.

My Appeal to the Conscience of the MPs

I urge Members of Parliament not to ratify the pre-approved list. The list that will be presented for ratification must reflect national character in terms of tribe, region, and gender. In any advanced democracy where transparency exists, nominees for parliamentary ratification must be subjected to public scrutiny and interviews. A mere advertisement is not enough if the candidates are not subjected to rigorous examination.

Conclusion

The Judicial Service Commission’s advertisement is nothing but a smokescreen designed to deceive the Zambian people. The real appointments have already been decided, with tribal bias as the main selection criterion.

As the 2026 elections approach, Zambians must remain vigilant against such political schemes that threaten the very foundation of democracy. A fair and independent judiciary is crucial for national stability, and it must not be hijacked for political gain.

Chabinga has no legal right to stand anywhere in the political corridors and pretend to be a president- Miles Sampa’s PF

STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.
=====================
1st April 2025.

The statement coming from the expelled Mafinga member of parliament Robert Chabinga is a clear celebration of April fools day. I do hereby challenge him to go to any courts of our land wearing the deceitful contemptuous jacket of acting president and see which Law recognizes him as such.

Mr Chabinga has no legal right to stand anywhere in the political corridors and pretend to be a president. It is out of the disrespect of our Judiciary and in connivance with the former Home Affairs PS Akafumba and the Registrar of societies that the man thinks he holds any position when he knows very well that he is a definition of Contempt of Court. When Judges have signed Orders stopping him from holding a Press Conference as acting PF President, he has acted cocky, defied the Orders and disrespected the Courts. Men like Robert Chabinga have no shame nor conscience to reflect on their destructive habits and their impact on the majority Citizens that are members of the PF and the   Country in general.

Robert Chabinga has put the name of our Judiciary into disrepute by constantly committing Contempt of Court with impunity as he claims he is a personal friend of President Hakainde Hichilema and he will always protect him. The Zambian people have been wondering what powers Chabinga has to disrespect the Courts and get away with it. The answer is in the so called protection by President HH because some of the Contempts he has committed have been in the presence of the Republican President himself that is supposed to be the custodian of our  Rule of Law and not Lawlessness.

Today the Registrar of societies is before the Courts because of the crookedness and dishonorable acts of people like Chabinga who has no interest in bettering the democracy of our Country but out to get personal favours (public contracts) from the ruling party by doing damage to the opposition especially the Patriotic Front.

Even a teething child knows that Robert Chabinga is a UPND stooge who adds no value to providing checks and balances to the government. As Leader of Opposition (appointed by our President Miles Sampa he is disrepecting), he has been the most incompetent and worthless to the opposition. We commend Hon Miles Sampa for dropping him from the position and expelling him as well.

The Nation cannot afford to have such elements in the midst of constitutional amendment debates. For some unknown reason, the Speaker who was quick to accept and implement  within 2 hours  a letter from Miles Sampa removing Hon Brian Mundubile and replacing him with Mr Chabinga, today has refused to honour the same instructions removing Chabinga and replacing him with the Kalulushi MP Hon Mulenga Kampamba. She has chosen to get herself involved in PF internal matters. To her it’s either the Leader of Opposition is Mr Chabinga or nobody else.

If Robert Chabinga thinks he will continue disrespecting the Judiciary and abrogating the constitution of our land and always get protected by the UPND government, he’s very much mistaken. The Judiciary is made up of Men and Women of honor. They are there to protect the integrity of our constitution and will stand up to do that which is right and according to the Law and not the will of Chabinga and President HH.

Robert Chabinga and all expelled members of parliament should go to courts and challenge their expulsion if they’re law abiding citizens. Alternatively and since Chabinga claims to be popular with his UPND in Mafinga constituency, he should not challenge  the expulsion in Court so that we can go to the by election there early. He would then prove his popularity standing on a UPND ticket.

As for the PF, We shall hold hands and fight to make sure that bad elements sponsored by the PF to parliament and have turned against the PF, are kicked out of Parliament. This time around we won’t allow the Speaker to protect Robert Chabinga and other law breaking members of parliament.

As things stand and at the crossroad where the Nation is now; we in the PF don’t want people who are sitted on political fences. You are either with us and the Opposition or the ruling UPND  party. As we have done with Chabinga and others, we will help drop anyone on the fence  by using the Laws of our land.

Teen recalls being defiled by knife wielding father

Teen recalls being defiled by knife wielding father

A 14 year- old girl had no choice but to relieve the traumatic incident where her biological father, who is a Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Flight Sergeant, defiled her while holding a knife, threatening to kill her if she made a sound.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1C9vQUvscw/?mibextid=oFDknk

The teenage girl narrated the story before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court, testifying in a matter where GM, 41, pleaded not guilty to incest contrary to the laws of Zambia.

It is alleged that GM on dates unknown but between August 1 and 31, 2024 in Lusaka had unlawful carnal knowledge of a female namely JM, knowing the same to be his biological daughter.

“My dad came into my room and he was drunk. He had a knife and he told me I should lay down. He said whatever he will say or do, I should not refuse.”

“Dad said if I refuse he will kill me. He took off my clothes and had sex with me while my sister was sleeping. He told me I shouldn’t tell anyone and he left,” she tesfied before Lusaka resident Magistrate Kawama Mwamfuli.

The girl further disclosed that when the act happened, her mother was sleeping in her bedroom room.

“During the time the act happened, my mother was sleeping in her room and my sister was sleeping in my room. My father, after coming with a knife, he got me from the bed and put me on the floor where he had sex with me. He was in a drunken state,” she stated.

The girl said her mother discovered about the pregnancy in December last year when she took her to the clinic.

According to the evidence on record, she knew about her daughter’s pregnancy when it was 23 weeks.

“In December, my mother asked me if I was pregnant, I refused and she took me to the clinic were I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive.”

“I was asked what happened and who was responsible for the pregnancy. During that time my mother was outside the clinic, I informed the medical personnel that it was my father who was responsible for my pregnancy,” she said.

She informed the court that she then reported the matter to the police.

Meanwhile, an arresting officer, Emeldah Muntemba testified before court that on January 8, 2025 she reported for work at ZAF twin Palm were she was allocated a case of a mother who reported that her daughter was pregnant.

Muntemba told court that she interviewed the mother who told her that her daughter was pregnant and her biological father was responsible.

“I further asked her if the accused was really the father, she produced an under five card and showed me that she was the mother and the suspect as the father. I then requested that I interview the girl,” she said.

The officer said she further interviewed the girl who also confirmed that she was defiled and impregnated by her biological father.

Muntemba said after the statement from the victim, she interviewed the officer who attended to her at ZAF clinic and was informed that after the mother discovered that her daughter was pregnant, she requested that pregnancy be terminated.

“After the mother’s request to terminate the pregnancy, the officer told her that she can’t terminate the child’s pregnancy because it was dangerous.”

“I also interviewed the accused person and he told me that he had no idea of the offence that he had impregnated the daughter, I then gave a warn and caution statement in English, and he denied the allegations,” she said.

Muntemba said the accused told her that the only thing he remembers was his wife confronting him on what he was doing in the girls bedroom because he was seen coming out from there.

“The accused told me that he could not remember anything because he was drunk. I then made up my mind to charge him of incest,” testified Muntemba.

The court adjourned the matter to April 29, 2025 for continuation of trial…https://kalemba.news/local/2025/04/02/teen-recalls-being-defiled-by-knife-wielding-father/

PF hypocrisy and UPND blindness!

PF hypocrisy and UPND blindness!

By Abigail Chilubanama

The country has witnessed political “gymnastics” over the past few weeks, to say the least.

1. FIRING OF JOSEPH AKAFUMBA

President Hakainde Hichilema fired Joseph Akafumba, the Permanent Secretary of Home Affairs.

Interestingly, immediately the opposition was quick to celebrate, with some even mocking Akafumba, suggesting he had been used and then discarded.

2. FIRING OF GARY NKOMBO

President Hakainde Hichilema fired Gary Nkombo, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development. The opposition, particularly the Patriotic Front (PF), has expressed anger and concern over this decision.

They are worried and sympathetic.

3. AMOS CHANDA JOINS UPND

Few days ago,we saw Amos Chanda, former President Edgar Lungu’s Spokesperson in a picture with the UPND media team.

He also appeared on Diamond Tv with him being comfortable to be associated with UPND.

The PF are very bitter and all over social media attacking him.

There are lessons we need to learn from this.

(A) For the opposition to celebrate the exit of a PS (Akafumba),meaning there was something he was doing in favor of UPND and President Hakainde Hichilema’s government which was chocking the PF and the opposition.

Am pretty sure Akafumba has touched on the “lifeblood ” of PF meaning he was doing a correct thing.

There is no way, the opposition should celebrate you when they want to get power from you.

So, Akafumba needs to be back if they is space.

(B) For the PF and some opposition political parties sympathizing with Mr Nkombo shows they had either some “intimate” political relationship or what he was doing was helping the opposition to operate in relaxed manner.

They are so worried, unhappy and are really commiserating (a word that Gary likes using when his sympathetic to something).

Why should an opposition party get worried when government official is fired?

Why are they defending him?

What is it that they were doing together which has been disturbed?

So, the firing was on point!

(C) Amos Chanda’s move to UPND has really angered the PF,they are disturbed.

They are calling him all sort of names, they are very unhappy.

It’s clear, they know what he can do perhaps what damage he can do to them.

So, Amos is a perfect fit and good to work with!

Chikankata grandma dies 6 months after receiving ZAF house!

Chikankata grandma dies 6 months after receiving ZAF house!

A NINTY-six year old grandother of Chikankata District in Southern Province yesterday received a befitting send off from her community who were joined by the Zambia Air Force.

Esnart Haachintu Moonga of Siamikobo village died on Sunday, 24 weeks after the Zambia Air Force had gifted her modern house right in the middle of her village.

Last September, the roof of granny Esnart’s house was blown off by ZAF chopper that was on a mission in her area.

At the time, the old woman peacefully sleeping in her humble one-roomed house when the roof went flying off.

Following the incident,  ZAF reacted quickly to compensate the old woman for the damage to her home by building her a three-roomed house to replace the one-room structure that had been damaged.

ZAF Commander, Lieutenant General Oscar Nyoni ordered Brigadier General Simon Tembo, who is Chief of Medical Services in ZAF to also conduct a thorough health assessment of Moonga at the site of the incident and upon examination, Brigadier General Tembo determined that Moonga had sustained no injuries and was in stable condition

Upon discovering that the old woman had mobility issues, ZAF provided her with a wheelchair, seeking to alleviate the challenges she faced in navigating her home and the surrounding area.

Yesterday, the community of Siamikobo village along with Brigadier General Tembo gathered to bid farewell to granny Esnart, whose life had been touched by ZAF’s kindness but had sadly come to an end.

Speaking after he laid wraths on her grave, Brigadier General Tembo paid tribute to granny Esnart, acknowledging the significant impact she had on the ZAF community despite the less-than-ideal circumstances of their initial encounter.

“In spite of the unfortunate circumstances that brought us together, Moonga’s unwavering warmth and resilience won our hearts and made her an integral part of our ZAF family. Though we mourn her passing, we are grateful for the time we spent together and the memories we made,” he said.

“We remain aware that she will always hold a special place in our hearts.”

True to its commitment to serve and support, ZAF went above and beyond to provide support for her funeral, ensuring that all the necessary provisions were made to give her a dignified sendoff.

ZAF provided food for mourners who had gathered to pay their respects as well as supplying a casket.

Joyce Mukuna the deceased’s only surviving child expressed her sincere appreciation for the continuous support ZAF had shown to her mother even after her passing.

“The new house with its increased space and improved living conditions brought comfort and security to us, I can only describe the incident that made us meet as a blessing in disguise,” she said.

“Your kindness and generosity have been a great source of comfort to us during this difficult time. We are deeply moved by the respect and honor ZAF has shown to my mother’s memory and we will always be grateful for your kind acts.”

The old woman has left behind one child, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren

GIVE KCM TIME TO SETTLE

GIVE KCM TIME TO SETTLE

…..Vedanta Resources officially took over KCM only eight months ago, says ANDD

Kitwe…. April 2, 2025 (SMART EAGLES)

The Advocates for National Development and Democracy (ANDD) has urged all stakeholders in the mining sector, including suppliers, contractors, employees, and the government, to exercise patience and provide Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) under Vedanta Resources the necessary time to stabilize and regain full operational efficiency.

ANDD Executive Director Samuel Banda states that it is important to acknowledge that Vedanta Resources officially took over KCM only eight months ago, after nearly five years of suboptimal operations due to prolonged legal disputes and asset liquidation.

“Fellow citizens and stakeholders in  the mining sector i wish to remind you that  resuscitating a large-scale mining asset like KCM is a complex process that requires time, financial investment, and strategic planning. Therefore  Expectations for an immediate full recovery should be tempered with a practical understanding of the challenges involved.
Despite these challenges, there has been significant progress since Vedanta’s return,” he told Smart Eagles.

“The company has committed an investment of over US$1.2 billion to revitalize KCM and increase copper production to 300,000 metric tons annually over the next five years. To support this, Vedanta has also initiated efforts to secure US$1 billion in debt financing.”

Mr Banda further said employees have seen a 20% salary increment and a one-time payment of K2,500, reinforcing the company’s commitment to worker welfare.

“In terms of community development, KCM has played an active role in corporate social responsibility. The company has donated sanitary supplies to schools in Chililabombwe, enhanced healthcare by providing medical equipment to Nchanga North Hospital, and collaborated with local authorities to combat cholera in public spaces,” he added.

“Additionally, infrastructure projects such as a 20-kilometer road rehabilitation and support for law enforcement through vehicle maintenance and fuel provision demonstrate KCM’s dedication to social investment.

While we acknowledge concerns raised by suppliers and contractors regarding late payments, we believe these issues should be addressed through structured dialogue rather than media confrontations. Constructive engagement will facilitate solutions that balance KCM’s financial restructuring with the immediate needs of its business partners.”

He said his organization remains optimistic about the progress at KCM.

“Jobs for youth are being created, and more than 50% of businesses that collapsed during the liquidation period have been revived. The company has also made notable contributions to national events such as the Mining Indaba and continues to support the education and sports sectors,” he concluded.

“We call upon all stakeholders to support Vedanta’s vision of reviving KCM. We wish to indicate that a fully operational KCM will contribute immensely to Zambia’s economic growth, and this can only be achieved with collective support from all involved. I wish to urge Zambians, government and stakeholders to allow KCM the time and space to complete its recovery, ensuring long-term benefits for employees, businesses, and the nation as a whole.”

KANCHIBIYA FISH PONDS POISONED

KANCHIBIYA FISH PONDS POISONED

April 2, 2025

Kanchibiya District Fisheries and Livestock Coordinator Daniel Ng’uni has expressed disappointment over the poisoning of fish at the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) funded fish ponds in Mpepo area last week, by unknown assailants.

Speaking in a phone interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS), Mr Ng’uni confirmed receiving reports that last week, that unknown assailants introduced poisonous leaves, locally known as ‘ububa’, into the fish ponds, leading to the death of a significant portion of the fish stock.

“This is a sad development that disrupts progress. These ponds were a vital source of fish, especially during the fish ban, and the efforts by a fish farmer Kennedy Makasa and his team had given us hope for stable fish production in Kanchibiya,” he said.

Meanwhile, the affected fish farmer, Kennedy Makasa, has called on stakeholders to help enhance security at the Mpepo chiefdom fish farming block, following the incident.

Mr Makasa disclosed that the poisoning resulted in the loss of approximately one tonne of fish, estimated at 3,000 in number.

He explained that the ponds were poisoned just after restocking and the breeding of fish was taking place.

After the incident, Mr Makasa stated that he and his team made efforts to pump fresh water in an attempt to salvage the situation, but they could only save a small portion of the remaining fish.

“I’ve been attacked by unknown individuals, possibly out of jealousy. It’s a sad situation, but I won’t give up, I just appeal to stakeholders to help introduce security measures at the fish farming block,” he said.

And Titus Mpundu, a farm manager at the affected site, described the incident as shocking and a major setback.

“We woke up to this disaster, and it’s devastating. I’m not sure how we will replenish the ponds to their previous level,” he lamented.

Earlier this year Kanchibiya District Commissioner Crispin Chilekwa had previously praised the initiative, highlighting its role in reducing the national fish deficit.

“This is the kind of progress the government wants to see. There is a significant fish deficit in the country, and initiatives like this play a critical role in closing that gap,” he had stated.

The attack comes as a major setback to a previously thriving initiative.

The CDF-funded fish farming project, managed by cooperatives such as Epuki Mumbubo Cooperative, Kenkasa General Supply & Construction Cooperative, and Mushilashi Youth Club, had been hailed as a model for local economic transformation.

The project gained recognition for its contribution to food security, employment creation, and economic empowerment in Kanchibiya.

Amos Chanda Defends himself on Swazi Land, dishes out more details

Amos Chanda Defends himself on Swazi Land, dishes out more details

The Swazi gift hoax: My Response

1. Yes, I remember Dora Siliya frantically asking for a meeting with the President and I arranged it. She requested Attorney General Likando Kalaluka to be present. Simon Miti, Kaizer Zulu, Sukwana Lukangaba, Daniel Siwo and Hibeene Mwinga somehow joined.

2. Dora abruptly requested to leave before meeting was over and she asked that Attorney General leaves too. In her absence this meeting resolved that the issue she confronted the President about was a non-issue because Kaizer and I had actually declined the land offers in question. In a follow-up meeting under the guidance of Secretary to the Cabinet Dr. Simon Miti, we resolved that such a gift was above the allowance provided for in the civil service protocols on gifts. We therefore declined it.

3. Earlier on, I had sought the advise of Sukwana Lukangaba the State House legal advisor who was in the company of ACC DG Kapetwa Phiri qhonhad been alerted of this “grand corruption”and so he wanted his officers to interview me. He was told the matter did not exist because we had simply declined the offers and kept quite as is the case in many instances in government. No corruption charges could arise out of an event that had not occurred, they said. But since there was a media uproar, there was no need to hide I judged, and I addressed a briefing where I made public this position that yes, I was offered but did not take it.

I should hope that the now common avalanche of pseudo securocrats and pedestrian jurists on oaths and allegiance, will understand that any deliberately calculated smear thrust into public space now, can’t wait 25 years to be addressed.

4. As for the stealthily calculated provocations to try and draw me into discussions between two sovereigns (ECL and King Mswati), please understand that that some semblance of oath and secrecy may come into play, and so I won’t be drawn into it. Suffice to say this matter didn’t have any element of malpractice and these matters were both publicly and privately closed.

5. Had Dora stayed longer in the meeting at issue, or had she been a staff member of State House, she would have known that there are no lies and no contrived facts about this Swazi land gift hoax. Since this matter is in a book that I have not fully read, but if this section says what is has been reported, in the manner it is being reported to have been written, then a fuller version of that particular incident shall be addressed later in greater detail. Suffice here to state that despite the tensions alludes to, Simon Miti himself offered very wise counsel on civil service protocols on gifts; Sukwana Lukangaba was very pointed in his very wise legal counsel on potential legal landmines over this matter. I was grateful to these colleagues. Even Elias Chipimo called me and offered free advice. In this, and additional discourse to come, I wonder what lies one can deduce on this subject.

Attorney General Sued Over Proposed Constitutional Amendments.

Attorney General Sued Over Proposed Constitutional Amendments.
——–
LAWYER JOSEPH CHIRWA WRITES…..

Good afternoon Zambians

Today, I have officially joined many noble Zambians in a battle to defend the Constitution of Zambia, from being tampered with and amended to suit political interests of a small clique.

I must hasten to state that I am against amending the Constitution of Zambia in such a manner that the people are totally left out of its process. Further, I disagree with the appetite to tamper with our Supreme law, merely to suit someone’s political interest.

Therefore, I join those who seek to defend the Constitution of Zambia, with a noble view that, the people of Zambia must have a say in how the Constitution must be formulated and what it’s contents must be.

Am

What role do I play?

Having vast knowledge in constitutional law, I will offer legal services to like-minded people who have decided to put up a petition against this tampering of the Constitution in such an ill manner, with an ultimate goal to stop political characters from making laws to their liking..

I have seen the contents of the proposed amendments, and I am convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that a few people who secretly sat to develop these proposed changes were merely looking out for their own good, to please themselves. On the contrary, a Constitution cannot be turned into a personal document of those who hold power, to an extent that its development excludes the input of the people.

On this account, we will explore all legal avenues to stop these characters from undertaking this dangerous route. I will keep my people in Kasenengwa and all Zambians updated here on my page, on whatever steps and stage we reach as we fight back.

NEVERS MUMBA ENDORSES HH FOR 2026 GENERAL ELECTION

MUMBA ENDORSES HH FOR 2026 GENERAL ELECTION

As he also supports the Constitution amendment

April 1, 2025

LUSAKA – Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) President and United Party for National Development (UPND) Alliance partner, Dr. Nevers Mumba, has endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema for the 2026 Presidential and General Elections.

Dr. Mumba has also called on the Church and Civil Society Organizations to support President Hichilema in his bid for re-election in 2026.

He said President Hichilema has exercised true leadership, leading Zambia through hard times of drought, among other challenges.

Speaking at a press briefing held at the UPND Secretariat, Dr. Mumba urged religious and civic leaders to rally behind the President’s call for constitutional amendments and the upcoming elections.

“President Hichilema must be supported because he has shown true leadership, especially in difficult times when the country went through challenges such as the prolonged drought that resulted in load-shedding and food shortages across the country,” he said.

Dr. Mumba emphasized the need for urgent constitutional reforms before the 2026 elections and called on President Hichilema to expedite the process.

He stated that, having served in leadership for 28 years, he understands the importance of preparing adequately for elections.

“All politicians must be aware that elections are just around the corner, and we must ensure that the legal framework governing them is strong and progressive,” he said.

Dr. Mumba expressed confidence in the UPND administration, stating that its proposed constitutional amendments are beneficial to the nation.

He criticized the previous Patriotic Front (PF) administration, highlighting the failure of Bill 10 as a flawed legislative attempt.

“I have seen the amendment proposals provided by the UPND government, and I can confidently say that they are all progressive, unlike the failed PF Bill Ten,” said President Mumba.

He further encouraged the media to continue exposing the Patriotic Front’s economic mismanagement, which has led to the current suffering among the people.

Dr. Mumba’s endorsement of President Hichilema and his call for constitutional amendments signal a significant political development ahead of the 2026 elections.

His decision not to contest the elections further consolidates support within the ruling alliance and strengthens the President’s position.

With momentum building towards 2026, Dr. Mumba’s remarks set the tone for increased collaboration within the UPND Alliance and key national stakeholders.

His call for the Church and Civil Society to support the government’s agenda reflects a broader consensus on the need for unity and stability in Zambia.

The endorsement marks a crucial moment in the political landscape, reinforcing the UPND’s commitment to governance and constitutional reform.

PRESS STATEMENT BY HON. ROBERT CHABINGA, ACTING PF PRESIDENT AND LEADER OF OPPOSITION

PRESS STATEMENT BY HON. ROBERT CHABINGA, ACTING PF PRESIDENT AND LEADER OF OPPOSITION

I wish to categorically dismiss the purported expulsions of PF Members of Parliament announced by Mr. Miles Sampa. Let it be clear that these actions, lacking any legitimate authority, are nothing more than a desperate attempt by an expelled member to assert control; a control that, by all rights, he no longer possesses.

Mr. Sampa, having already been expelled from the party, has no locus standi to dictate or expel anyone else. It is regrettable that he chooses to engage in actions that betray the very values of unity and discipline he claims to uphold. I call on him to reflect and have a sense of shame for these regrettable actions.

Furthermore, Mr. Sampa’s actions border on contempt, as they are sub judice to matters currently before the Constitutional Court, among them where PF Secretary General Mr. Morgan Ng’ona has sued the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Attorney General for their failure to act on Mr. Sampa’s expulsion. He must therefore be advised not to bite what he cannot chew.

We wish to place on record that while other brother probably thought the former ruling party was for sale to the highest bidder, we are working hard to ensure the PF focuses on championing a developmental agenda and providing alternatives to the party in power. The PF we seek to build is one that is a vehicle for positive energy as a proposition of new ideas to advance this country’s development agenda.

The PF remains committed to genuine dialogue, reconciliation, and unity, and we will not be swayed by such illegitimate measures. The voices of the people, represented by duly elected and appointed members, must continue to be heard without interference from those who no longer serve the party’s interests. PF is an open church, and we remain ready to forge links with progressive forces in the nation.

Dr. Nevers Mumba Warns of Constitutional Crisis Over Candidate Withdrawals, Backs Amendment

Dr. Nevers Mumba Warns of Constitutional Crisis Over Candidate Withdrawals, Backs Amendment

MMD President Dr. Nevers Mumba has warned over a looming constitutional crisis if Article 52, which allows candidates to withdraw after nomination, is not amended before the 2026 General Elections.

Speaking at the UPND Anderson Kambela Mazoka Party Secretariat, Dr. Mumba, who is also a UPND Alliance partner, backed President Hakainde Hichilema’s call for Parliament to address this legal loophole.

He warned that failure to amend the constitution could lead to severe electoral disruptions, including perpetual nominations which in a way suspends elections continuously thereby jeopardizing Zambia’s democratic stability.

Dr. Mumba recalled that in 2021 elections, if he had the option to withdraw and taken it—it could have derailed the electoral process. “We cannot afford to enter the 2026 general elections with such a provision still in place,” he stated.

He pointed out that an election must not be held hostage by candidates who choose to step down after nominations, as this undermines both the credibility and the financial sustainability of Zambia’s elections.

Dr. Mumba further called for a campaign based on facts rather than propaganda. “We do not need to lie in our defense. Our weapon is the truth. This is a war of words, and our responsibility is to ensure that moral and truth-seeking Zambians hear the facts,” he said.

He underscored that the 13 thematic areas currently under review are non-contentious in contrast to reforms with Bill 10. He said the previous bill contained 79 thematic areas, many of which were designed to benefit the PF, such as the reintroduction of deputy minister positions.

Key take away points:

Threat of Constitutional Crisis

• Dr. Nevers Mumba warns that failing to amend Article 52 could lead to a constitutional crisis; where the incumbent President can even remain in power for as long we postpone elections due to fresh nominations;
• The provision currently allows candidates to withdraw after nomination, potentially disrupting elections.

Risk of Electoral Disruptions

• Recalled that in the 2021 elections, had he been able to withdraw, it could have derailed the entire electoral process- to date would have no new President;
• Stressed that Zambia cannot afford to enter the 2026 elections with this provision still in place.
• Emphasized that elections must not be held hostage by candidates withdrawing after nominations.

Need for Constitutional Reforms

• Highlighted that the 13 thematic areas currently under review are non-contentious.
• Contrasted the current reforms with Bill 10, which had 79 thematic areas, many benefiting the PF, including reintroducing deputy minister positions.

Call for Truth-Based Campaigns

• Urged political parties to focus on facts rather than propaganda.
• Stated that the battle for truth is essential, and misinformation must be countered with honesty.

HICHILEMA’S ENDLESS BLAME GAMES- Fred M’membe

HICHILEMA’S ENDLESS BLAME GAMES

Mr Hakainde Hichilema has raised alarming concerns about the conduct of some of his Cabinet members. The concerns raised range from sleeping during Cabinet meetings, failure to uphold the Oath of Secrecy and lack of self-control.

These revelations were made during a swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Gift Sialubalo at State House yesterday.

We find these revelations very interesting, especially that they’re coming from a man who promised the nation, nothing but quality and merit based appointments in his Cabinet. So, if his Cabinet appointees are not as good as he thinks, what does that say about him as the appointing authority? Every Cabinet team is a true reflection of the appointing authority. You shall know them by their friends. It’s simple!

The biggest problem with Mr Hichilema is that he always blames or finds fault among people that surround him except himself. Yet most, if not all, of the crises we face today as nation are largely due to his leadership failures. And we have advised Mr Hichilema over and over again that by blaming others, he gives up the power to change things. Why can’t he stop the blame games and take responsibility for his failures?

Mr Hichilema is about to enter the final lapse of his five year mandate, yet he still talks like he just got elected yesterday. He lies, he deceives, and never takes responsibility for his actions. He needs to know that as long as he is not God, he’s prone to failure. Every human being is fallible and there is nothing wrong in admitting failure and seeking help. Mr Hichilema can’t continue passing the blame on others without being introspective.

Let Hichilema stop the blame game. If he has failed, let him just admit, and we will forgive him.

KAZABU WARNS AGAINST POLITICISING FOOTBALL

KAZABU WARNS AGAINST POLITICISING FOOTBALL

Veteran football administrator Luxon Kazabu says he is disappointed by the action of the Judge who granted the injunction that halted the FAZ elective annual general meeting last Saturday.

Kazabu, a FAZ life member, said there were no compelling grounds contained in the affidavit by the plaintiff and as such, the Judge should have declined the application.

He questioned what irreparable damage could the plaintiff have suffered if the injunction was not granted and the FAZ elections went ahead.

“As a concerned citizen and life member of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), I am shocked by the conduct of some mischievous individuals who despite the guidance from FIFA decided to rock the boat by obtaining a court order at the eleventh hour and stopped the AGM from taking place for selfish interests to the amazement and disappointment of the delegates and the nation. I am also disappointed by the action of the Judge who granted the injunction when there were no compelling grounds contained in the affidavit by the plaintiff and as such, she should have declined the application, especially that it was heard exparte,” Kazabu said.

“Surely, the matter before the Judge was that of private interest vs public interest. Clearly, public interest has an upper hand. If I may ask, what irreparable damage could the plaintiff have suffered if the injunction was not granted? By granting the injunction public interest was injured. A new Executive Committee was not elected despite a lot of money being spent,” he said.

Kazabu warned against politicising football matters after the elective FAZ annual general meeting failed to take place last Saturday due to a court order.

He fears that FIFA may punish Zambia over third party interference in football administration.

“In this day and age, there is no room for gymnastics. To the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, National Sports Council of Zambia, FAZ and its affiliates, my humble appeal is that they should at all times act in a manner that does not place football at a risk that has dire consequences. What happened at the AGM on Saturday 29th March, 2025, must not be allowed to recur because it has serious consequences and as I write I don’t know what sanctions could be underway from FIFA whose guidance was defied with impunity and they were made to spend money for nothing. Finally, as a nation, we must keep politics away from football,” Kazabu said.

Hon. Kasune Is Wrong: These Amendments Won’t Lower the Cost of Living- Dr Mwelwa

Hon. Kasune Is Wrong: These Amendments Won’t Lower the Cost of Living

By Dr Mwelwa

Many times in politics, those in power try to dress up their plans in beautiful words—like “inclusion,” “youth empowerment,” or “gender equality”—but if you look closely, you’ll see that these words are often used to hide something else: the desire to stay in power at any cost.

Recently, Minister of Justice Princess Kasune said that the new constitutional amendments will help reduce the high cost of living in Zambia. But as a political scientist, I can confidently say this is completely false. These changes will not make life cheaper or better for ordinary people. In fact, they will do the opposite—they will make things worse.

Let’s talk about the facts. One of the biggest changes being proposed is to increase the number of Members of Parliament (MPs) from 166 to 256. Each MP is paid K66,000 every month. With 256 MPs, the government would spend almost K2 billion every year on salaries alone. In five years, that adds up to nearly K10 billion. And that’s before you include allowances, free cars, offices, and end-of-term gratuities. If each MP gets a K5 million gratuity after five years, that’s another K1.28 billion. Add government vehicles for new MPs, and the cost climbs higher and higher.

Now ask yourself: Will this help reduce the price of mealie meal? Will it reduce bus fares or create jobs? Will this help your child get a scholarship or your grandmother get medicine at the clinic? The answer is no. This is money that could build schools, fix hospitals, set up youth training centers, or support local farmers. Instead, it will be spent on politicians and politics.

Some of our leaders are trying to trick young people and women into thinking these amendments are for them. But let’s do some honest math. Even if 50 young people or women are given new MP positions, that is 50 jobs out of more than 5 million unemployed youth in Zambia. That’s not real empowerment—it’s a political show.

The truth is, these changes are not about development. They are about control. The amendment to remove the limit on nominated MPs is especially dangerous. Right now, the Constitution says the President can only nominate 8 MPs. But if the amendment passes, that limit will be removed. The President, with support from Parliament, can then add as many MPs as he wants—stacking Parliament with people who will vote the way he tells them to. This gives too much power to one person, and weakens the checks and balances that protect our democracy.

When U.S. President Barack Obama visited Africa, he said: “Africa doesn’t need strongmen. It needs strong institutions.” What he meant is that good leadership is not about having one person with all the power. It’s about having fair systems where the law is respected, where Parliament, the courts, and the President each have their own roles—and none is more powerful than the other.

Right now, what we are seeing is the government trying to change the rules in its favor before the 2026 elections. Instead of fixing the economy, they are fixing the system. Instead of creating jobs, they are creating seats in Parliament. And they are doing it fast, hoping people won’t notice.

But we must notice. We must speak. The Constitution is not a tool for political survival. It is a promise between leaders and the people. Changing it should never be rushed, and it should never be done just to help one party stay in power.

As Americans say, “Power belongs to the people.” It’s time Zambians remember that. These amendments are not about you. They are not about your struggles. They are about keeping power. And if we allow them to pass, we will all pay the price—not just in taxes, but in the loss of our democracy.

Let’s not be fooled by big words and shiny promises. Let’s demand honesty. Let’s demand leadership that serves the people—not just itself.

Is the Withdrawal (Coitus Interruptus) Method of Family Planning a Sin?- A rant by Rev Walter Mwambazi

So Then, Is the Withdrawal (Coitus Interruptus) Method of Family Planning a Sin?
A rant by Rev Walter Mwambazi

So, one year and one day ago, Dr Mujajati posted this statement (of which a picture is shared)

“Withdrawal method has a high failure rate because in that moment most guys forget. If your pull out game is weak don’t do it.”

To which I commented…

“Confession! It has been our preferred method of birth control for the last 12 years without any incident or accident!”

That raised a small storm on his page with over 1,000+ reactions and 200+ comments. Most were of varied incredulity and some touched on the story of Onan in the Bible and his “sin” that led to his death.

In case you are not familiar with the story, you can find the full account in Genesis 38:6-10 in which Onan is killed for withdrawing and “emitting on the ground”.

So, many teachers use this passage as a justification why this method of birth control should not be used. They claim this can bring a “curse” on a man and lead to his death!

A little bit of common sense renders this whole “doctrine” hopelessly ridiculous once you ask yourself a simple question. How many couples have been using this since time immemorial and haven’t come under any kind of curse? Further, how many people have been “emitting on the ground” to date? Any curses or death on these?

What many fail to do is take the full story into context. So for the sake of those who just listen to teachers without the Berean spirit of studying the scriptures, let’s reproduce the part in full below 👇🏾

========

Then Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord killed him.

And Judah said to Onan,

“Go in to your brother’s wife and marry her, and raise up an heir to your brother.”

But Onan knew that the heir would not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in to his brother’s wife, that he emitted on the ground, lest he should give an heir to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the Lord; therefore He killed him also.
Genesis 38:6‭-‬10 NKJV

========

So as can be seen, Onan did not want his sister in law to have a child, which would mean they are heirs of a double portion being the first born brother Er’s son.

In short, Onan was being selfish and greedy. He wanted the double portion inheritance reserved for the first born son.

This is what displeased the Lord.

So there you have it! If in the words of Dr Mujajati “your pull out game” is strong, by all means, go ahead and withdraw. You’ll be saving the Mrs all those years of being pumped up with hormone inhibitors and all manner of birth control pills and insertions!

You’ve heard! 👂

PS: Still on the ridiculous “doctrine of Onan”. Did you realize that those who use condoms are also “emitting on the ground” right? Only difference is that its a plastic sack not so? So they are technically committing the “sin of Onan!”

In short, the whole logic behind it just falls apart with some simple scrutiny.

I’m one of Zambia’s finest singers but UPND ignores me – Kings Malembe

I’m one of Zambia’s finest singers but UPND ignores me – Kings Malembe

RHUMBA gospel singer Kings Mumbi Malembe Malembe says he counts himself on the A list of the country’s vocalists but complains that the UPND pays no attention to his skills and talent.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19kMzywS11/?mibextid=oFDknk

The horase-voiced musician cries that ruling party does not invite him to perform at their events.

Kings who was at point some point declared himself son of the Edgar Lungu house feels the UPND had been sidelining him from attending their events simply because he was affiliated with the PF years ago.

“Have you ever seen me at any government function? I’m sure, I’m one of the finest singers in Zambia, the records are there. The UPND have not been able to have me on their rallies because I was PF,” said Kings.

During PF’s time in power, Kings and other musicians sang praises for the party and overlooked  the corruption and violence that many Zambians complained about.

He was part of the Christians for Lungu group that declared the former president as God’s chosen leader.

But after PF lost the 2021 elections, Kings has struggled to fit in as he has found himself in a musical drought with the ruling party seemingly not willing to book him for a political hit song.

Even on social media, where he occasionally goes live to air his views on different things, Kings claims that UPND supporters still remind him of his PF past as if his hoarse voice alone is enough to erase years of political gospel.

“Even when I go live they tell me I’m a PF,” he lamented.

Kings has now urged government to move beyond partisan lines and embrace all Zambians, including himself.

“It’s important for us to transition from being party leaders to national leaders because now they took over power and it was very important at that stage for us to be seen as Zambians not as PF,” he said.

“When you become a leader, you are a leader for everyone. Let’s not look at people because of the party they belong to. It’s important for us to transition from being party leaders to national leaders,” stated Kings.

Amos Chanda Vs Laura Miti

Amos Chanda Vs Laura Miti
Amos Chanda
1. Two articles in Diggers are in printed version, even online: Can Laura or anyone indeed just cut out on paragraphs and post it here to show any sordid detail in contention? Is it a trip to DRC as special envoy? Is it my statement that I disagreed with privatising KCM? Is it that known fact that a president I trusted had been hijacked by those who lied against others and so I felt out of place? Where is betrayal here? In case there is others please post here.

As for association with UPND, is there a law that prohibits this? Speaking for them: did I give any impression that’s what I am looking for? Trust: even I don’t trust Laura.

Laura Miti
A law maybe not, ethics, principles, values – myriad, surely. But if it’s only the law that can prevent you from joining a party you had unspeakable disdain for, then there are clearly not enough laws in the world to keep you on the straight and narrow. As for what you choose to reveal about EL, I am glad you are ready to engage. Do you again need a law to suggest it is eyebrow raising to sound like you were shocked at what was happening in a government which it was your job to defend, and which you did defend to the hilt? You do, at least, understand the sense of consternation in anyone who heard you then and is hearing you now – or don’t you?

Amos Chanda
The second point I make is Laura’s points are always civil and that is to be appreciated. But that her view should be God’s last gift to our public discourse, is obviously to be rejected.
No one for instance must hold her to it that she now used terms as “dictatorship” on a president she calls a breath of fresh air, competent, democratic and all… her change of position can’t at least from me descend into condescending, self-righteous pontifications. She has simply expressed her position and associated or disassociated with one position and another… with my training and experience, I am sure I know both the lower and upper limits of oath and secrecy.

Laura Miti
But Amos, anyone who thinks of anyone else as Godlike is be pitied. As to think of oneself as God, now that’s trouble. So that’s a moot point. Let’s tackle my views on HH. Any politician must, on each day, with each statement and act, earn any praise or criticism. When being a breath of fresh air, they must be told. When trying to pass dictatorial clauses in a constitution they must be told. Deep error is thinking any politician deserves, as themselves, our support or lack of it, olo chinkale bwanji.

Amos Chanda
Changwe, I left govt 12 days after that. Details of the same can, in the biased minds, fly straight into lectures on oath and secrecy and what not. I disagreed and if you think I agreed, that is entirely up to you. To argue with a position that concerned parties have not disputed is what make public discourse mainly a theatre of pseudo experts who dispute even settled matters due to bias, not fact, not logic, not information but who is saying it!

Yes Laura, I can understand the consternation. Just can’t agree on who must set the moral parameters upon which ethical judgments can be passed. At least I appreciate your side that doesn’t seem to pontificate on legalities, and others suggesting my economy is so bad I need UPND to buy bread! And that I actually need the trust of some lazy online data miners.

PLANNED REVIVAL OF MOPANI AND KCM A FLOP…they are failing to pay suppliers and contractors says KASHINGA

PLANNED REVIVAL OF MOPANI AND KCM A FLOP

…they are failing to pay suppliers and contractors says KASHINGA

Mufulira… Monday March 31, 2025

Socialist Party (SP) Copperbelt Provincial Vice Chairperson Reagan Kashinga says the delay to pay Suppliers and Contractors by Mopani Copper Mines and Konkola Copper Mines is an indication that the planned revival of the two mines has flopped.

And Mr. Kashinga has condemned Mines Minister Paul Kabuswe for speaking against local contractors and suppliers in Parliament.

Local Suppliers and Contractors have been protesting over delayed payments, inadequate business opportunities for locals and favoritism in the awarding of contracts at KCM and Mopani.

Mr. Kashinga said the bringing back of Vedanta to run KCM and the arrival of the Saudi investor at Mopani has not yielded good results.

“We need to remind the people that money from the mines reaches the lowest person on the economic chain through suppliers and contractors. It is a fact that mining companies in particular Konkola Copper Mines and Mopani Copper Mines owe scores of contractors and suppliers money.  We are aware that mines owe suppliers and contractors from as far back as 2021,” he said.

“Therefore, it was unfortunate to hear Mines Minister Paul Kabuswe trivialize the issues of suppliers and contractors in Parliament. Instead of speaking for the people through vulnerable suppliers and contractors, Mr. Kabuswe was busy siding with the Investors.”

Mr. Kashinga charged that the much publicised unlocking of Mopani and KCM by the Government is a failed project.

On March 17, 2025, the Copperbelt Energy Corporation sued KCM – seeking to recover K338,910,012.82 months after the mining firm proposed a debt repayment scheme of arrangement for about 676 creditors.

“It is high time Mr. Kabuswe and his UPND Government admitted that the so-called unlocking of Mopani and KCM has flopped. We said earlier that Vedanta return won’t yield results because the investor has no capacity to run the mine. Where is the million dollars investment Vedanta promised to inject in KCM? Where is the money the Saudi investor promised to invest in Mopani? UPND should know that talk is cheap,” he said.

Mr. Kashinga said the UPND regime has betrayed the people of the Copperbelt on Mopani and KCM deals.

“We repeat our earlier warning to UPND that failure to manage the mining sector effectively will cost them votes on the Copperbelt Province in 2026. Don’t play with the minds of the people of the Copperbelt Province.  We demand that Mopani and KCM quickly pay suppliers without further delay. It is a pity that Mr. Kabuswe is behaving like a spokesperson for the Chamber of Mines instead of speaking for the people who voted for him. Mr. Kabuswe is betraying his fellow Zambians by siding with the failed investors in KCM and Mopani,” Mr. Kashinga added.

KCM has been insisting that it is fully committed to paying creditors as per the court-approved payment plan, called the Scheme of Arrangement.

CALLS GROW FOR GOVERNMENT TO REVITALIZE NDOLA CITY

CALLS GROW FOR GOVERNMENT TO REVITALIZE NDOLA CITY

…as SP laments that the city, once a thriving hub on the Copperbelt, had now deteriorated into a ghost town

Ndola… Tuesday April 1, 2025

Concerned stakeholders have urged the government to take urgent steps to restore Ndola to its former economic glory, citing years of neglect and underinvestment as key factors behind the city’s decline.

Ndola-based Socialist Party (SP) Member of the Central Committee, Kepson Zimba, has lamented that the city—once a thriving hub on the Copperbelt—had now deteriorated into what he described as a “ghost town.”

He attributed this decline to the current administration’s failure to prioritize investment in the area.

Dr. Fred M’membe’s Socialist Party has emphasized that Ndola possesses significant economic potential due to its strategic location, abundant natural resources, and skilled workforce.

However, party officials have argued that the government’s apparent disinterest in revitalizing the city has led to stagnation and economic hardship.

Mr. Zimba outlined several measures that he believes could reverse the city’s fortunes.

He called for the rehabilitation and expansion of infrastructure, particularly roads and railways, to improve connectivity and facilitate business growth.

Mr. Zimba asserted that better infrastructure would make Ndola more attractive to investors and businesses seeking to set up operations in the city.

Additionally, the Socialist Party has proposed economic diversification through the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Mr. Zimba suggested that the government introduce incentives such as tax breaks, subsidies, and training programs to support local businesses and startups.

Education and skills development were also highlighted as critical areas for investment.

The Socialist Party believes that equipping Ndola’s workforce with the necessary skills would make the city more competitive and appealing to investors.

Beyond economic concerns, Zimba also stressed the need for improved social services, including healthcare, education, and recreational facilities.

Enhancing these amenities, he argued, would not only improve residents’ quality of life but also attract more investors and visitors to the city.

Calling for a multi-faceted and coordinated approach, the Socialist Party has urged the government to take immediate action to address Ndola’s economic and social needs.

The party maintains that by investing in infrastructure, supporting businesses, and improving living conditions, the government can help restore Ndola to its former status as a thriving economic center benefiting the entire nation.

Malawian medicines flood South Africa’s black market amidst public hospital shortages

Malawian medicines flood South Africa’s black market amidst public hospital shortages

By: Malawi24

While Malawians are being sent away from public hospitals with unfilled prescriptions due to crippling medicine shortages, Johannesburg’s black market for pharmaceuticals has become a booming business, overflowing with smuggled medicines from Malawi.

According to GroundUp, a South African-based news agency, in Johannesburg, a thriving black market has emerged for pharmaceuticals, including antibiotics, contraceptives, and antihistamines, mostly smuggled from Malawi and, to a lesser extent, Zimbabwe.

GroundUp reported that immigrants who struggle to access healthcare from clinics and hospitals due to documentation issues are turning to the black market for their medication needs.

Melina (not her real name), a Malawian immigrant, has been running an informal pharmacy from her home in Johannesburg for years. She sells pills for R2 each and offers wholesale prices to resellers.

Her business is booming, with customers flocking to her for medicines that would normally require a prescription.

“I saw an opportunity and decided to use it. People don’t need a passport or ID to buy medicine from me and I charge only R2 per pill,” said Melina. “It’s barely month-end, and a box full of medicine that I ordered from Malawi two weeks ago is already finished; my business is booming,” says Melina.

Mada Beni, a Malawian immigrant living in Johannesburg, says she does not bother to go to the clinic anymore. Whenever she feels sick, she buys medicine from Malawians who sell it on the streets.

“I know that medicine from my country is strong; that is why I trust it. What’s the purpose of visiting the clinic if they are going to chase me away or tell me to go and get treated in my country?” said Beni.

However, the availability of these medicines without a script raises concerns about antimicrobial resistance. The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) warns that substandard and falsified medicines have become a global concern, accounting for at least 10% of all medicines consumed globally.

SAHPRA spokesperson Madimetja Mashishi says they are working with law enforcement agencies to root out unauthorized products within the country.

“Control of attempts to import such undesired health products are also curtailed in collaboration with the Border Management Agency and South African Revenue Services,” Mashishi said.

Malawi’s public hospitals have been facing acute drug shortages, forcing doctors to ration medicines or redirect patients to expensive private pharmacies.

AGRO-FUEL SCANDAL: THE BACK STOPS AT HICHILEMA- Fred M’membe

AGRO-FUEL SCANDAL: THE BACK STOPS AT HICHILEMA

Usually, we follow Winston Churchill’s advice: “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.”  But these dogs seem to have rabies and must be put out.

The Zambian Watchdog, an online guerrilla media outfit, ran by the State House press office, has been trying to throw innuendos at me over the Agro-Fuel scandal.

For starters, it’s shocking that the Zambian Watchdog should maliciously be drawing or targeting us in their internal fight over this scandal. We find it shocking because the questions they’re asking us could be better answered by their boss, Mr Hakainde Hichilema. Let them ask Mr Hichilema where the money they made from superprofits for fuel has gone. It’s his government, after all, that gave Agro-Fuel the contract, not us.

This government has made millions of Zambians suffer because of this highly corrupt, reckless, and selfish deal. Many people today are failing to feed their families because the cost of living is too high. The prices of food have escalated from the time the fuel prices went up. Their greed has increased the cost of living. They deliberately increased the price of fuel through this deal so that they can reap off the country, and now that they have made their monies, they have collected more than enough they want to reduce the price of fuel for election purposes.

They had planned to reap off the country and then reduce the fuel prices in an election year, which they’ll increase after the elections should they be re-elected, and start the cycle of reaping off the country again. They’re shameless crooks!

We were telling them about this dubious deal, and they were calling us names. Today, after they have collected enough, they want to include us in their dirty deeds. Abalile isabi nibambi bese bashile ifwe uluche? Iyo nakalya, tafyabombe! They’re thieves, and they know it themselves.

I have never spoken to or met Shashi Patel, the owner of Agro-Fuel, not even through a proxy. They can ask him. We don’t collect kickbacks like them. We are decent revolutionaries with sufficient honour and integrity. If they know people who have gotten money from Shashi, why don’t they arrest them? Why do they want to smear us with their filth when they know the truth?

The problem here is not even Shashi Patel and Agro-Fuel. It’s themselves. They gave him the contract. Agro-Fuel didn’t give themselves that contract. They did. So, why do they want to involve us? If Shashi has done anything wrong, why are they not arresting him? They can’t because they are part of this scandal.

Further, why is Mr Hichilema and his government quiet over this scandal? Why is there no explanation from him? Since we raised the red flag on this deal, nobody has been arrested. No Minister of Energy has been fired. When the issue got hot, Mr Peter Kapala was simply transferred to another ministry. No permanent secretary of energy has been fired, and no director at the Ministry of Energy has been fired, too.

So, what is the Zambian Watchdog on about? The back stops at Mr Hichilema. Let them ask him questions about this deal. Let them take their nonsense to him.

This is their internal fight since there is no honour amongst thieves, and they must keep us out of it.

Amos Chanda has defended his new role as a media consultant for  UPND

AMOS Chanda, former press aide to ex-president Edgar Lungu, has defended his new role as a media consultant for the United Party for National Development (UPND), stating he is living ‘a life after State House.’

https://www.facebook.com/100064560977290/posts/1099869588841730/

Mr Chanda has confirmed that he is working as media consultant, days after he was pictured at a UPND Media team address held at the Fairmount Hotel in Livingstone. This appearance comes under a week after his recent revelations of his time as Mr Lungu’s press aide.

Mr Chanda worked as Mr Lungu’s press aide between 2016 and 2019 and is viewed as having been a big critique of Mr Hakainde Hichilema, strong political rival of Mr Lungu prior to the 2021 general elections.

His presence in the UPND has caused debate among a number of people, but Chanda has wondered if there is anything wrong with him associating with the ruling party.

Mr Chanda said when he appeared on Diamond TV Zambia Breakfast on Monday that his past association with Mr. Lungu and the perceived strained relationship between Mr Lungu and President Hichilema should have no impact on who he decides to work for.

“How does that relationship between these two individuals? One was president and is now former, the other one is president who has an opposition leader, they contested elections and the outcome is available for all to see.

“How does that relationship between these two adults become conditioned on the relationship or no relationship between Amos Chanda and any other citizen?”

“I also work for NGOs. How can my relationship with NGO X and NGO Z be conditioned on my relationship or no relationship with either President Hakainde or President Lungu?

“That’s not the point. Maybe the point to put is, is there a life after state house, and that’s a life Amos Chanda is living, a life after state house far detached from any other stronghold, either from party X or party Y or party Z,” he said.

I would be ‘careless’ in my responsibility as a politician to say that everything is perfect – Milupi

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) Alliance Chairperson, Charles Milupi has defended the government’s performance since taking office in 2021, acknowledging the difficulties faced by Zambians.

Speaking when he featured on ZNBC’s Sunday Interview last evening, Milupi, who is also Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development minister, was upfront about the realities of governance, saying that while the government has not achieved perfection, significant strides have been made in improving the country’s economy and social services.

“I would be remiss in my responsibility as a politician, in my responsibility as chairperson of the alliance, indeed in my responsibility as a cabinet minister, to say that everything is 100 percent. No, that’s not what we are saying.” he stated.

He further described the economic situation inherited by the UPND government as dire, citing a recession with negative growth of minus 2.8 percent and Zambia’s 2020 debt default, which saw the country fail to pay US$45 million in interest.

“We inherited a collapsed economy,” Milupi said.

“What we inherited in 2021 is minus 2.8 percent, an economy that [was] going downwards, but not growing.”

Milupi highlighted the new dawn government’s efforts to address these challenges, including restructuring the debt and introducing free education.

“Can you imagine what would have happened if the poor child’s parents still had to pay for their school fees? That would have made life even harder for them,” he noted.

Commenting on the ongoing debates surrounding the proposed constitutional amendments specifically on the delimitation of constituencies, Milupi explained that some constituencies with large populations currently receive the same level of funding as smaller constituencies, which undermines fairness in the distribution of resources

“Every person in this country, far-flung or not, must feel they’re being represented,” he said. “Those funds are used to bring development, build schools, build clinics, and empower people in those constituencies.”

Meanwhile, earlier today during the launch of the new currency in Lusaka, the Minister of Finance and National Planning, Situmbeko Musokotwane stated that despite the drought, the Zambian economy has shown reillience, recording a 4 percent increase last year.

Dr Musokotwane was hopeful that the 6 percent economic growth target will be attained by the end of 2025…https://kalemba.news/…/i-would-be-careless-in-my…/

The Cost of Betrayal: A Reflection on Loyalty and Consequence

The Cost of Betrayal: A Reflection on Loyalty and Consequence

By Dr Mwelwa

I am Bemba, and I write this with a heavy heart. It pains me to say these words, but truth must be spoken, even when it cuts deep. I do not write as an outsider throwing stones; I write as one among you, ashamed of what I see, yet hoping that we can wake up before it is too late. A lion that fails to teach its cubs to hunt only raises prey, and today, I ask—what have we become?

During the Bill 10 debate, the Patriotic Front (PF) tried to lure known UPND members into betraying the Zambian people. They promised them riches, comfort, and political survival, but they stood firm. They refused to sell the nation for a few pieces of silver. This was a test of integrity, and some passed. But today, as another moment of truth approaches, I fear that the ones who will betray Zambia will not be strangers—it will be my own brothers from the North and East. Those whose names are already written in the pages of infamy, those who have made betrayal a culture. Ukutangila tekufika—being first on the road does not mean you will be the first to arrive.

Look at Gary Nkombo. A man who has served in government, who has faced adversity, who has been fired but has not turned to insults. It is not that he does not have grievances; it is that he understands the meaning of loyalty and respect. His principles are intact. He has not gone begging for favors from those he once opposed. As Socrates once said, The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be what we pretend to be. Nkombo is a lesson, a reminder that dignity still exists in some corners of this nation.

But then, there are others. Look at Amos Chanda—welcomed into UPND, embraced by those who saw value in him. And what did he do? He immediately started throwing dirt at the very men who gave him a name, insulting even Michael Sata and Edgar Lungu, the very people who once trusted him. Tell me, if a man can curse his former masters so easily, why should the new one trust him? HH saw through the deception and cut him loose. That is how a true leader acts. As Confucius said, He who flatters with one hand and stabs with the other is a friend to no one.

And what of Miles Sampa? A man who has hopped between parties more times than the seasons have changed. This is the man who once said a Tonga must marry a Bemba to win an election. He turned against Lungu, crawled back when things didn’t work out, then turned again. And now, what does he stand for? Nothing but his own survival. He is not alone in this. His actions mirror those of many from the North and East who see politics not as a duty to serve but as a marketplace where the highest bidder wins their loyalty.

Then there is Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM), a man who once wielded influence but now finds himself in a difficult place. He has had his share of political shifts, moving between parties and changing allegiances. Perhaps, in the end, the cost of such a path was too high. Today, he sits unwell, facing the consequences of a political life that lacked a single, unwavering agenda. And though I critique his decisions, I cannot help but feel sympathy for him. A man is more than his political choices—he is a father, a husband, a member of a community. Even as we analyze his journey, let us not lose our humanity. The Greeks warned us, The price of dishonor is exile, and the price of disloyalty is loneliness. One must ask—did GBM’s choices bring him closer to power or leave him isolated in the end?

Chishimba Kambwili is another whose political path has been unpredictable. One day chanting UPND slogans, the next back in PF, shouting Alebwelelapo as if he had never strayed. His firebrand nature has made him both loved and despised, but what has it truly earned him? A man who does not stand firm is no different from dry grass in the wind—he will go wherever the wind takes him, but he will never have a place to call home.

And then there is Sunday Chilufya Chanda, a man who used to smear HH with insults daily. Today, he is whispering his way into UPND, hoping for protection. Should we trust such people? Are these not the same people who will betray Zambia when the time comes for constitutional amendments? Umulilo uwaikatisha, tabapalamako ubushiku bwacha—you do not warm yourself with a fire that might burn you tomorrow. As the ancient Greeks taught us, A false friend and a shadow attend only while the sun shines.

And yet, I look at a man like Royd Moonga, who had his differences with HH but still carried himself with dignity. Even when he left, he refused to go on a campaign of insults. When I asked him for dirt on HH, he simply said, “I will not speak ill of him, for he was like a father to me.” That is what loyalty looks like. That is what honor looks like.

We, the Bemba and Eastern people, must ask ourselves—why are we seen as traitors? Why do we not stand firm in one place? Is it greed? Is it lack of discipline? Is it the love of quick rewards? A tree that is uprooted too many times will never grow strong roots. The same applies to men who change sides whenever the wind blows. A nation cannot be built by men who cannot be trusted. Ubushiku bufwile inkalamo, cimbwi talebepo abengi—when the lion dies, the hyenas come in numbers. We must not be those hyenas, circling only where the meat is.

Let us learn from those who stand firm. Let us be men whose word means something. If we continue like this, we will be remembered not as warriors, but as sellouts. We cannot allow that shame to stain our name for generations. A man’s true worth is tested when the storm comes. Let us not be found wanting. As Lao Tzu wisely said, He who stands on tiptoe is not steady; he who rushes ahead does not go far.

A nation is only as strong as the trust that binds its people. Let us not be the weak link in the chain. Amaka ya baume tabi pwa mukoshi, yapwa mu mutima. A man’s strength is not in his neck, but in his heart. May our hearts be strong, and may our actions reflect the honor we claim to have.

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA & KABUSWE HAVE BETRAYED ZAMBIA’S MINING SECTOR- Abraham Simpamba

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA & KABUSWE HAVE BETRAYED ZAMBIA’S MINING SECTOR

31st March 2025

The people of the Copperbelt and Zambia as a whole demand real answers not political deception, empty rhetoric, and wasteful tourism disguised as leadership. Today, Paul Kabuswe embarks on yet another meaningless tour of mining companies.

But what exactly is the purpose of this charade? Is it to enforce the law and protect Zambian miners, or is it just another staged exercise to collect allowances while hoodwinking the people?

For three painful years, Paul Kabuswe and President Hakainde Hichilema have presided over the systematic collapse of Zambia’s once thriving mining sector. They promised a new mining policy where is it? Was it just another fraudulent pledge designed to manipulate the people while they enriched themselves and their foreign cronies?

Under their reckless leadership, the Copperbelt’s backbone has been shattered, and our mining industry is now in ruins due to incompetence, lack of transparency, and a failure to put Zambians first.

KCM: A BETRAYAL OF NATIONAL INTEREST

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) remains in limbo, with no clear roadmap for ownership, investment, or job security for thousands of miners.

Why was KCM surrendered back to Vedanta, a company with a well-documented record of financial instability and worker exploitation?

Was this an orchestrated betrayal to pave the way for CEC to take over or loot shares from our national wealth? The Zambian people demand full disclosure and accountability!

MOPANI: ABANDONED TO ROT

Mopani Copper Mines has been left to wither, with no tangible investment or commitment from the government to revive its operations. Thousands of workers and mining suppliers are suffering because this administration has FAILED to ensure that Zambians benefit from their own resources.

KABUSWE’S EMPTY PROMISES CANNOT MASK FAILURE

The so called crucial tour of large-scale mining operations on the Copperbelt is nothing but a desperate attempt to create an illusion of progress. Visiting Konkola Copper Mines (KCM), Mopani Copper Mines, Lubambe Mine, Shaft 28 in Luanshya, Mimbula Mine, and NFC Africa Mining will not solve the deep-seated crisis facing our mining sector. For three years, Kabuswe and his government have ignored the real issues failed policies, lack of investment, and a corrupt system that benefits foreign companies over Zambians.

Government’s claim of strengthening local supply chains and ensuring that mining investments benefit ordinary Zambians is an insult to the hardworking people who continue to suffer. If this government was serious, they would have prioritized policies that genuinely empower local contractors, protect workers, and ensure long term sustainability in the industry.

THE PEOPLE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

The people of Chililabombwe, Chingola, Mufulira, Kitwe, and Luanshya are watching closely. Miners are fed up with deception. Suppliers are tired of being sidelined. The youth are sick of endless promises while they remain jobless.

I challenge Paul Kabuswe to explain his FAILED mining policy and why the sector remains in crisis despite the never ending propaganda of revival. More importantly, President Hichilema must answer to the Zambian people.

WHY has his administration failed to provide a long-term, sustainable solution for our mines? Instead of fixing the mining sector, they have turned it into a personal ATM, looting from the hardworking people of Zambia.

We stand for a mining sector that prioritizes Zambians where our resources are managed with integrity, transparency, and fairness for ALL stakeholders.

Zambia deserves better. The Copperbelt deserves better. Miners deserve better. The time for lies and exploitation is over!

Amos Chanda’s Gymnastics, from Lungu’s Attack Dog to UPND’s Newest Choir Member

Amos Chanda’s Gymnastics, from Lungu’s Attack Dog to UPND’s Newest Choir Member

Amos Chanda, the former spin doctor for ex-president Edgar Lungu, has pulled off what might be the biggest political somersault of the year jumping from the sinking PF ship straight into the arms of the UPND.

The man who once fired verbal missiles at Hakainde Hichilema is now singing hymns in the ruling party’s choir, conveniently rebranding himself as a “media consultant.”

Chanda’s newfound love for UPND became evident when he was caught red-handed at a UPND media briefing at Fairmount Hotel in Livingstone. Of course, Zambians, with their eagle eyes and sharp tongues, wasted no time in asking, “Iyi nayo ninshi kanshi?” (What kind of move is this?).

When confronted on Diamond TV Zambia Breakfast, Chanda acted surprised, as if people were overreacting to his political gymnastics. He lectured the nation, asking:

“How does the relationship between these two individuals (Lungu and Hichilema) affect Amos Chanda’s life after State House?”

Translation: “Forget the insults, forget the past, I need to eat!”

For a man who once made a career out of throwing punches at Hichilema, this sudden U-turn is nothing short of a miracle. It’s like a witch doctor waking up one day and becoming a pastor, same tricks, different uniform.

But let’s be real. This is not about “media consultancy” this is political survival, Zambian edition. The PF ship is not just leaking; it has already sunk, and former big men are scrambling for lifeboats. Amos Chanda is simply the latest one to grab a life jacket with a UPND logo on it.

Zambians have seen these moves before. Today, it’s “life after State House,” tomorrow, he’ll be on another podium saying, “Ba PF, naine na bwela” (PF, I’m back). In politics, nothing is permanent, except hunger.

So, the question remains: Is Chanda now a trusted ally in UPND, or is he just another passenger waiting to jump ship when the next bus comes?

Brother kills sister trying to defend mother from his abuse

A MANHUNT has been launched by police to find  a 27-year-old man who is on the run after allegedly killing his 25-year-old sister in Nyimba district, Eastern Province, following an argument over the assault of their mother.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/14xSSrtPkF1/?mibextid=oFDknk

It is reported that Ackim Milambo beat up his sister, Esther to death after she went to reconcile him with the mother, whom he earlier assaulted because she accused him of stealing.

According to authorities, the incident occurred in Kachenja Village yesterday at 14:00 hours.

Confirming the incident to #Kalemba, Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer, Robertson Mweemba Mweemba shared that the incident happened on Saturday around 14:00 hours.

He said 48-year-old Brenda Lungu who is the mother to the deceased visited her son, Milambo’s house, inquiring about some missing maize from her field.

In response to his mother’s query, Milambo insisted that he had no knowledge about the matter.

“His mother continued to insist that her son must have been involved in the disappearance of the maize due to the close proximity of his home to her field but enraged by his mother’s accusation, Milambo resorted to physical violence, beating his mother who was later rescued by some neighbours,” Mweemba revealed.

“Yesterday afternoon, Milambo’s younger sister Esther, attempted to act as a peacemaker in the escalating conflict by first going to her mother’s house and then later went to her brother’s house, hoping to resolve the matter and inquire why Milambo abused their mother.”

Unfortunately, Milambo and his wife Cecilia Nyirenda viciously attacked his sister, Esther causing her to flee from the scene.

“However, before she could escape, Milambo pursued her and brutally assaulted her with a stick, catching her as she reached the roadside.”

Mweemba disclosed that amidst the savage attack, Esther cried out for help, hoping that someone nearby might come to her aid.

“Fortunately, a neighbour named Madalena Lungu aged 47, heard her cries and rushed to assist. But by the time Madalena reached Esther, she was already unconscious after being struck in the head with a stone,” Mweemba said.

“As Madalena attempted to aid Esther, Milambo turned his rage on her, warning that if she continued to assist Esther, he would brutally murder her in the same way he killed his sister whom he referred to as ‘a dog lying down’ hence, fearing for her own life, Madalena fled and started calling for help as Milambo chased her away.”

Mweemba also disclosed that Milambo then got his wife and kids and left the village.

He added that when officers arrived at the scene, they inspected the body and discovered that Esther was bleeding from the head as she had a suspected fractured left hand and skull.

“The body of the deceased was deposited at Nyimba mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial, while the suspects are still at large as a manhunt has been launched,” Mweemba added…https://kalemba.news/local/2025/03/31/brother-kills-sister-trying-to-defend-mother-from-his-abuse/

Malawi’s presidential puzzle: Unpacking the strengths and weaknesses of Chakwera and Mutharika

By Jones Gadama

Malawi’s political landscape has been shaped by various leaders, each bringing their own unique strengths and weaknesses to the forefront.

The country’s two most recent presidents, Lazarus Chakwera and Peter Mutharika, have left an indelible mark on Malawi’s history, with their leadership styles and policies sparking intense debate among the populace.

As the country continues to navigate the complexities of its democratic journey, it is essential to critically examine the legacies of Chakwera and Mutharika, acknowledging both their accomplishments and shortcomings.

This article aims to provide a nuanced analysis of the two leaders, exploring their respective strengths and weaknesses, and what these reveal about the state of Malawi’s democracy.

Lazarus Chakwera

Strengths:

  1. Charismatic Speaker: Chakwera is known for his ability to inspire and motivate people through his speeches, although this charisma often lacks substantial policy backing.
  2. Vision for Unity: He promotes a vision of national unity, but this vision has not translated into effective action or tangible results.
  3. Commitment to Democracy: Chakwera has shown a commitment to democratic principles, yet his administration has faced criticism for not fully upholding these values in practice.
  4. Focus on Education: He emphasizes the importance of education, but the implementation of educational reforms has been slow and ineffective.
  5. Religious Faith: Chakwera’s strong faith is a source of inspiration for many, but his reliance on divine intervention for economic solutions raises concerns about his practical governance skills.

Weaknesses:

  1. Economic Reliance on Divine Intervention: Chakwera has publicly stated that he relies on divine intervention to address the country’s economic challenges, which undermines confidence in his leadership.
  2. Admission of Ignorance: He has confessed in public forums that he does not know much about certain critical issues, which raises doubts about his competence as a leader.
  3. Inability to Deliver Promised Reforms: Many of his promised reforms have not materialized, leading to disillusionment among his supporters.
  4. Poor Crisis Management: His administration has struggled to effectively manage crises, resulting in public dissatisfaction and unrest.
  5. Lack of Clear Economic Strategy: Chakwera’s government has been criticized for lacking a coherent economic strategy, leading to uncertainty and instability.

Peter Mutharika

Strengths:

  1. Strong Academic Background: Mutharika holds advanced degrees and has a wealth of experience in academia and governance, which lends credibility to his leadership.
  2. Economic Policies: He implemented several economic policies that led to growth during his tenure, showcasing his ability to manage the economy effectively.
  3. International Relations: Mutharika fostered strong international relationships, which helped secure foreign aid and investment for Malawi.
  4. Infrastructure Development: His administration focused on infrastructure development, leading to improved roads and facilities that benefitted the economy.
  5. Stability and Continuity: Mutharika’s leadership provided a sense of stability and continuity, which many Malawians appreciated during his time in office.

Weaknesses:

  1. Perceived Elitism: Mutharika’s background and education sometimes led to perceptions of elitism, which could alienate some voters, though this is often seen as a minor issue.
  2. Controversial Decisions: Some of his decisions were controversial, but they were often justified as necessary for the country’s progress.
  3. Limited Engagement with Youth: Critics argue that he did not engage enough with the youth, yet his policies still resonated with many young people.
  4. Allegations of Corruption: While there were allegations of corruption during his administration, they were often unproven and did not significantly tarnish his reputation.
  5. Resistance to Change:

Mutharika was sometimes resistant to change, but this was often viewed as a commitment to stability rather than a weakness.

Both Lazarus Chakwera and Peter Mutharika have their strengths and weaknesses, shaping their legacies in different ways.

While Chakwera’s leadership is marked by a reliance on faith and public admissions of uncertainty, Mutharika’s strengths in governance and economic management have left a more lasting impact, despite some perceived shortcomings.

As Malawians prepare to head to the polls, they’re faced with a crucial decision: what type of leader do they want to helm the country?

Reflecting on the strengths and weaknesses of President Lazarus Chakwera and former President Peter Mutharika, it’s clear that Malawians are craving a leader who embodies integrity, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the people’s welfare.

The Catholic Bishops’ Pastoral Letter echoes this sentiment, urging citizens to choose leaders who prioritize the nation’s well-being over personal interests.

Malawians want a leader who will tackle the country’s pressing issues, such as economic instability, corruption, and infrastructure development.

A leader who is transparent, accountable, and willing to listen to the people’s concerns is essential.

They must be able to balance economic growth with social welfare, ensuring that the benefits of development trickle down to all Malawians.

As Hon. Allan Ngumuya emphasized, Malawians need a leader who can bring fresh ideas and energy to the table while remaining committed to the nation’s progress.

Ultimately, the next leader of Malawi must be one who prioritizes the people’s needs, fosters a culture of transparency and accountability, and works tirelessly to build a brighter future for all Malawians.-maravipost

European nationals traveling to the United Kingdom will now require a mandatory entry permit

In a significant shift in travel regulations, European nationals traveling to the United Kingdom will now require a mandatory entry permit, known as the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), starting Wednesday. The UK government asserts that this measure aims to bolster border security.

The ETA, which functions similarly to the United States’ ESTA system, allows visits of up to six months and remains valid for two years. It is mandatory for all travelers, including minors and infants.

Initially priced at £10 (12 euros), the cost of the permit will rise to £16 from April 9. Applications can be made through a smartphone app or the government website, with approvals typically granted within minutes. However, the Home Office advises travelers to apply up to three working days in advance.

“By digitising the immigration system we are paving the way for a contactless UK border,” Migration Minister Seema Malhotra stated earlier this month. “Expanding ETA worldwide cements our commitment to enhance security through technology and innovation.”

From April 2, nationals of around 30 European countries—including all EU nations except Ireland—must obtain an ETA before entering the UK. This requirement follows its earlier rollout for U.S., Canadian, and other visa-exempt travelers in January.

To apply, individuals must submit a digital photo of their passport and face. The approved ETA is electronically linked to their passport, eliminating the need for a physical document.

Flight passengers transiting airside without crossing the UK border are exempt from the scheme—a decision influenced by lobbying from Heathrow Airport, which feared a decline in transit passengers. Currently, only Heathrow and Manchester airports accommodate airside transit in the UK.

The ETA program was first introduced in 2023 for Qatari nationals before extending to five other Gulf states. In January 2025, it was further expanded to include travelers from around 50 additional countries and territories, such as Argentina, South Korea, and New Zealand.

By the end of 2024, nearly 1.1 million visitors had been issued ETAs, according to the Home Office. The scheme does not apply to UK residents or individuals who already hold UK immigration status. It also mirrors the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS), which will require visa-exempt nationals to obtain approval before traveling to 30 European countries, including France and Germany. However, the EU’s ETIAS system has been delayed until 2026.

The new UK travel policy marks a major change in post-Brexit immigration control, reflecting a broader global trend toward digital border security measures.

KAMPYONGO REAFFIRMS LOYALTY TO PF, ECL, AND THE LEGACY OF MICHAEL SATA

KAMPYONGO REAFFIRMS LOYALTY TO PF, ECL, AND THE LEGACY OF MICHAEL SATA

Lusaka, 31st March 2025

In an exclusive interview with Smart Eagles, Shiwang’andu Member of Parliament, Hon. Stephen Kampyongo, has strongly dismissed rumors suggesting that he is planning to defect to the UPND.

Speaking with unwavering confidence, Hon. Kampyongo described the reports as “baseless and malicious fabrications” aimed at misleading the public and diverting attention from the hunger that has engulfed the country.

“I have seen some desperate little blog trying to push falsehoods that I am crossing to the UPND. Let me make it very clear I am a proud and loyal member of the Patriotic Front. My allegiance remains with our great party and our leader, President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, as well as the legacy of our founding father, the late President Michael Chilufya Sata. These false claims are just the work of propaganda peddlers who are afraid of the PF’s never-ending strength,” he said.

The Shiwang’andu lawmaker emphasized that his dedication to serving the people of Shiwang’andu and Zambia through the PF remains firm, adding that no amount of misinformation will shake his resolve.

“I have stood with the Patriotic Front through thick and thin because I believe in its vision, the leadership of President Lungu, and the ideals of our late founding father, President Sata. There is no amount of fake news that will change that. The people of Shiwang’andu and Zambians at large know where I stand. I am PF and will remain PF,” Hon. Kampyongo declared.

He further called on PF members and supporters across the country to ignore the lies being spread by political opportunists and instead focus on strengthening the party ahead of next year’s general elections.

“Let us remain united and steadfast as we prepare for the upcoming general election. The people of Zambia want solutions, not rhetoric.”

Hon. Kampyongo also reminded the ruling party that Zambians are hungry and urged them to concentrate on addressing the economic hardships affecting the nation, including the high cost of living, expensive fuel, and mealie meal.

HIGH COST OF LIVING IN THE PRACTICAL SENSE- Fred M’membe

HIGH COST OF LIVING IN THE PRACTICAL SENSE

When we urge the government to address the issue of high cost of living, we are branded anti-HH and that we criticise his government without being objective.

When we say we need to revisit the mining concessions and tax waivers to improve dollar inflows to the treasury, which in turn can stabilise or improve the exchange rate, we are told we don’t think and understand economics.

When we caution government against heavy external borrowing and increase domestic revenue mobilisation through industrialisation, we are told how PF borrowed recklessly instead of addressing the continued current borrowing. Each time the exchange rate depreciates, we need more Kwacha for external debt servicing.

Here is the reality: Casual workers in farming communities get paid around K50 per day if not in permanent employment or between K800 to K1,500 per month when you are a permanent employee.

K50 is now equal to $1.77 per day at the current exchange rate of K28.3.

K800 is now equal to $29 per month worth of a salary.

K1,500 is now equal to $53.

Translate your own salary in dollars, and you will understand why you are really struggling, noting that Zambia is import dependent and hence most goods are purchased outside Zambia in dollars.

Most mind-boggling if you earn $53 (K1,500) monthly salary or $53 multiplied by 12 months, a farm worker receives $636 per annum.

$2 billion of tax waivers per annum can employ 3 million farm workers. This is the reality on the issue of tax incentives. You are depriving Zambians of the opportunity to improve their well being; through the provision of improved salaries, infrastructure, social amnenities, education and health, and so on and so forth.

Finally, we believe that business or FDI is attracted through ease of doing business in a particular jurisdiction such as, access to clean water, electricity, roads, air transport, good education and health facilities, communication systems, stable political environment, safety to mention but a few, than this misplaced belief that tax incentives are a precursor to attracting FDIs at the expense of depriving 3 million farming jobs.

Constitutional amendment will help prevent escalating high cost of living – Princess Kasune

Constitutional amendment will help prevent escalating high cost of living – Kasune

MINISTER of Justice, Princess Kasune has asserted that the proposed constitutional amendments will address the urgent issue of rapidly escalating costs of living that have been threatening the economic security of families in the country.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1YtzoygXy5/?mibextid=oFDknk

Kasune underscored the critical importance of these amendments in alleviating the severe financial hardships that many Zambians are facing and stressed the government’s commitment to implementing practical measures to improve the overall well-being of the nation’s citizens.

She was speaking when she appeared on Diamond TV’s programme dubbed ‘COSTA’ last night.

Kasune also noted that by amending the issue of delimitation, it will be able to address healthcare disparities.

“One of the challenges we face in development is the disparity among constituency sizes because larger constituencies often fall behind in terms of development due to their limited resources,” the minister said.

“Where I come from, education is a matter of life and death. My students are still forced to sit on the floor despite the increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF) because the population in my constituency is large, so the current CDF allocation is simply not enough to address the pressing educational needs of my constituents.”

She said the unequal allocation of resources affects the outcome of education for the children in her constituency and other large constituencies because their future is being jeopardised by the current system.

“It will also help prevent the cost of living from further increasing because this amendment will result in increased funding allocation to underserved constituencies, providing more equitable distribution of resources and access to essential goods and services,” she stated.

Kasune added that the amendment will be cost effective in the long run.

“A government is a large and complex machine, capable of tackling multiple challenges at once however, while we are mindful of the current economic hardships, we are also moving forward with the amendment of the constitution.”

“It will be cost-effective because the proposed amendments would be enacted through legislative means, subject to the approval of the Zambian people. This means that the government can make these changes without incurring significant additional costs,” added Kasune…https://kalemba.news/local/2025/03/31/constitutional-amendment-will-help-prevent-escalating-high-cost-of-living-kasune/

Looting the Treasury, Looting Funds Set-aside for the Health Sector- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

Looting the Treasury, Looting Funds Set-aside for the Health Sector

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba Wrote;

The Zambian government earmarked K23.2 billion for the health sector in the 2025 National Budget, representing 10.7 percent of the total budget.

Of this amount K5.0 billion was dedicated to the procurement of medicines and medical supplies.

Similarly in 2023, the Ministry of Health’s total budget was K16.1 billion, with another chunk dedicated to medicines and medical supplies.

Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA), is a statutory body established by the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency Act 2019 and has been charged with the mandate to procure, store and distribute medicines and medical supplies to all public health institutions in Zambia.

The Minister and the Permanent Secretary always give assurances, albeit false, of the sufficient stocks of medicines available.

Minister of Health, Elijah Muchima was so irritated by this paradox that he banned the giving of prescription papers to patients since government medicines stock was above the recommended World Health Organization (WHO) availability target of 80%.

Yet the country has a pathetic health care system suffering from obsolete hospital equipment, persistent lack of medicines, lack of medical supplies and laboratory reagents.

Diagnosis equipment such as CT scans x-ray, MRI and other equipment do not work or are non-existent for years now.
The cancer diseases hospital, once a centre of excellency for the sub-region is now death trap.

A thriving and efficient parallel market has since emerged providing expensive medicines, medical supplies and diagnosis services at great cost to our people.

Corruption, theft, pilfering and literal looting of the health funds has brought the system down to its bended knees!

This systemic failure of the health sector must be declared a national disaster so that an opportunity may arise to resolve and root out the fundamental problems in the sector.

President Hakainde Hichilema has a duty, for purposes of transparency, to authorise the public release of the recent forensic audit report that was done at the Ministry of Health and ZMMSA, to demonstrate the systemic rot if the institutions.

You Can’t Trust a Betrayer: The Case of Amos Chanda- Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

You Can’t Trust a Betrayer: The Case of Amos Chanda

By Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Betrayal is a wound that cuts deeper than a knife. It is the ultimate act of disloyalty, exposing the true nature of an individual who lacks honor, integrity, and a sense of duty. When a person turns against those who once trusted them, it becomes clear that they are guided by selfish ambition rather than principle. This is precisely the case with Amos Chanda, the former press aide to President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, who has shamelessly abandoned his former allies to serve the interests of the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).

Chanda, who once pledged unwavering loyalty to the Patriotic Front (PF) and stood as a defender of President Lungu’s vision, has now thrown himself at the feet of the very political party he once opposed. His defection is not just an act of political realignment; it is a glaring display of treachery. Can a man who swore to protect state secrets, only to later betray the very administration he served, be trusted by anyone? The answer is clear. A traitor will always be a traitor.

Betrayal is not a simple mistake. It is a calculated and intentional act. Chanda’s decision to switch sides at a time when the PF is facing political battles reveals his true character. This is not about principles or service to the people. This is about self-preservation. If he could betray the man who gave him power and influence, why should his new allies believe he will not do the same to them? If he is willing to expose confidential matters of the state, what does that say about national security? Tolerating such a man in the political arena is not only dangerous but also a sign of reckless leadership.

History has shown that those who betray once will do it again. The people celebrating Chanda’s defection today should take a moment to reflect. Today, he turns against the PF and President Lungu. Tomorrow, it will be the UPND and President Hakainde Hichilema. Betrayal is a pattern, and those who rely on turncoats for political gain will eventually pay the price. The question is not if Chanda will betray again. It is when.

Trust is not something that can be regained once it is broken. Amos Chanda’s defection does not signify wisdom or growth; it highlights his opportunistic and deceitful nature. Leaders who value credibility should distance themselves from individuals who have a history of backstabbing. A government that surrounds itself with defectors is weak, for it builds its foundation on shifting sands.

Amos Chanda’s actions must serve as a stern warning to both the political establishment and the citizens of Zambia. A betrayer is never a friend. Today, they may whisper in your ear, but tomorrow, they will conspire against you. True leadership is built on consistency, principle, and loyalty, not on political gymnastics and shifting allegiances.

As a nation, we must confront an uncomfortable reality. How secure is Zambia when those who once swore to protect its secrets are now using them as weapons for personal vendettas? Such reckless behavior, tolerated under the guise of politics, weakens not only trust in government but also national stability. It sets a dangerous precedent—one where state matters become tools for political warfare rather than being safeguarded for the good of the country.

The desperation of the UPND government is evident. They are willing to use Amos Chanda as a pawn to tarnish the name of former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu. But at what cost? Encouraging a man to divulge state affairs that he swore under oath to protect is not just dishonorable. It is a direct violation of constitutional duty. Should we allow individuals with no sense of responsibility or respect for the law to dictate the political discourse of our country?

No matter how far the UPND is willing to go in their quest to discredit the PF and its leadership, using Amos Chanda as their mouthpiece is a grave mistake. He is not a symbol of change. He is a reminder of the kind of people who have no allegiance except to themselves. If Zambia is to move forward, it must reject traitors, expose political opportunists, and demand true leadership that is rooted in integrity, not betrayal.

Amos Chanda has shown his true colors, and history will not be kind to him. A man without loyalty is a man without a future, and those who associate with him should take heed. Betrayal does not end with one act. It is a cycle that repeats itself. Zambia must not allow itself to be held hostage by those who thrive on deceit. The country deserves better than leaders who play politics with the sacred trust of the nation.
