GIVEN LUBINDA NOT A RECOGNISED LEADER TO MAKE PF DECISIONS – PF faction National Chairperson Emmanuel Mpankata

LUBINDA NOT A RECOGNISED LEADER TO MAKE PF DECISIONS – MPANKATA

PF faction National Chairperson Emmanuel Mpankata has questioned which party Acting President Given Lubinda is making decisions for, which are in the best interest of the members.

Mpankata says Lubinda has no control of the party, stating that Robert Chabinga is the one making decisions for the party.

Meanwhile, Mpika PF Member of Parliament Francis Kapyanga says he will support and rally behind Lubinda as he makes efforts to unite the party and foster reconciliation.

On Monday, Lubinda said members should not be worried as he had not made any decision that is not in the best interest of the party.

This followed his decision to drop former PF Secretary General Davies Mwila, acting Secretary General Brenda Nyirenda and Mpankanta from the central committee. Lubinda also removed party provincial chairpersons Chomba Chipili, Christopher Shakafuswa, Abyud Kawangu and Tombi Tombi.

Reacting to this in an interview, Monday, Mpankata said Lubinda was not legally recognised as PF President, so he could not claim to be making decisions in the best interest of the party.

“He said he made decisions in the best interest of the party. Which party? The PF party, a party which has no locus standi to gather, not even hold a rally? He’s claiming this is in the best interest of which party, which doesn’t even have authority to go and conduct internal party elections? That’s my question. Is PF allowed to gather? Is PF allowed to conduct its party internal elections freely? No. Chabinga is busy making decisions, and they are binding. Who’s recognised at the Registrar of Societies? Is it Given Lubinda? No, it’s not Given Lubinda who is recognised, so which party is he talking about? He should avoid going to the press, when you have internal matters, solve them internally. It’s really a joke.

Anyway, he has made a decision, but at the right time, decisions will be made by all affected members. At the right time, we’ll make decisions on the way forward. We’ll soon announce the way forward. The party is in the hands of Chabinga, I think I can just end there,” said Mpankata.

On the other hand, Kapyanga said he would support decisions that were in the best interest of the party.

“We will support decisions that are in the best interest of the party and we will continue [promoting] unity amongst ourselves, and we will continue fighting that we get back the party from the state capture. We will support every one of our leaders who are doing it in the best interest, but of course, we may not be in a position to support decisions that are emotionally made and which we think that may not help us as a movement. In case there could be such a thing of any one of our leaders making decisions out of emotions. We take a position that we support our acting president, and we rally behind him as he makes efforts to unite the party and foster reconciliation, if any,” he said.

“That we shall continue doing until such a time when the party elects new leaders, and that is what every one of us wants; we want to go to the convention. The convention we must go and we must go now, to go and elect new leaders, and we shall rally behind the person who’ll be elected from the convention, regardless, for as long as that person is our loyal member of the party. We shall rally behind the one that will be elected at the convention. All we want is someone getting the mandate from the people, and that person will be supported and will hit the ground running in mobilising for 2026. We are convinced that PF is needed to continue adding value to our democracy as a country”.

Kapyanga added that he hoped the party would resolve its differences as soon as possible so that they could hold the convention and elect new leaders.

“There is a proposal to postpone the convention, but the decision to hold a convention was arrived at by the Central Committee, so it calls for the decision to postpone the convention to be made by the Central Committee. I hear some of our leaders met yesterday (Sunday), and in their own wisdom, they proposed that the convention might be postponed to a later date to allow other salient issues to get addressed. If I were to comment as Francis Robert Kapyanga, who could not be a member of PF, I would have loved that the convention proceeds, because remember, we’ve been through this since 2021, ever since we lost elections, and our members have always called for us to hold a convention,” said Kapyanga.

“But when you have issues that need to be addressed, I think it’s just important that those issues are addressed. I hope and trust that these issues will be addressed in the shortest possible time and allow the convention to proceed unhindered. Once a leader of their choice is elected, every member of the Patriotic Front will have the zeal to go flat out and mobilise the party. We have always resolved our issues as PF.

The only challenge we may face is the state involvement in our issues, like where some of our members have been sponsored to cause confusion in our party. Even now, we believe that we’ll resolve our issues and move as a united team. I can only hope that the state will remove its hand from the PF issues”.

PF Solidly Supports Oasis Forum’s Anti-Bill 7 Stance- Given Lubinda

PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

25th November 2025

PF Solidly Supports Oasis Forum’s Anti-Bill 7 Stance

The Patriotic Front (PF) reaffirms its unwavering support for the Oasis Forum’s position against Bill 7. We call upon all PF members in Lusaka and surrounding towns to mobilize and turn out in large numbers to participate in the peaceful march against Bill 7 slated for this Friday, 28th November 2025. This demonstration will showcase the unity and determination of the Zambian people in rejecting this contentious bill.

Dialogue Proposal Deemed Too Late (Mwakamba Late)

The PF finds the recent proposal for dialogue to be untimely and unacceptable. Had there been a genuine desire for dialogue, it should have been initiated in 2022 when we advocated for an extended consultation process for constitutional refinement. The government had ample opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, but instead, they chose to push forward with the bill without adequate stakeholder input.

Notably, President Hakainde Hichilema and his MPs rejected Bill 10, a similar bill presented by the Patriotic Front. Our stance is that Bill 7 should exceed the standards set by Bill 10. Furthermore, this bill has been rejected by key stakeholders, including the Constitutional Court, the Catholic Church, and the NGOCC, rendering it an illegal and non-transparent piece of legislation. It is questionable why it is being brought back to Parliament for enactment. Moreover, the committee appointed by the President to oversee this process is fraudulent.

*Warning for MPs*

We are aware that some MPs have allegedly been or will be bribed with substantial funds, specifically K3 million each, to support the bill. We will ensure that these MPs are held accountable for their actions. We will engage with constituents in their respective constituencies and urge voters not to re-elect those who prioritize personal gain over the welfare of the Zambian people. The people will not forget those who betrayed their trust.

*The Bill 7 Must Be Rejected*

We implore President Hakainde Hichilema to heed the cry of the Zambian people. The bill must be rejected in its current form, as it does not serve the interests of the nation. We urge the President to prioritize the voices of the people and act in the best interest of Zambia.

*United We Stand*

The PF remains committed to upholding the principles of democracy, transparency, and accountability. We will continue to fight for the rights of the Zambian people and ensure that those in power are held accountable for their actions.

Honourable Given Lubinda
Acting President, Patriotic Front

Zambians rejected PF tribal politics in 2021- Simon Mulenga Mwila

Simon Mulenga Mwila writes

President Hakainde Hichilema says the hatred against him is so strong that one can see and even touch the venom, and that he did not choose where he was born. But the truth is this. Zambia is not angry at his tribe. Zambia is frustrated with the way he has governed and made appointments in all strategic positions.

Some people will quickly say PF also practiced tribalism and even share lists of appointments. But that is exactly why PF was voted out. Zambians rejected tribal politics in 2021. They refused to be divided. They refused leadership that only listened to one side. If the same mistakes are repeated today, the reaction from citizens will be the same.

The reality is that ordinary Zambians do not care about tribe. We work together, we intermarry, we trade, we live side by side without looking at anyone’s village. It is only politicians who drag tribe into leadership and use it to shield themselves from criticism.

If the President wants unity, it must show in the way he appoints senior public officials. Let every province feel included. Let every citizen feel represented. Let our public service look like Zambia. Unity is lived, not spoken.

This emotional narrative of “they hate me because of where I was born” does not help. Zambians are not hateful. Zambians simply want fairness, balance and leadership that unifies instead of divides.

We are One Zambia, One Nation. And no politician should ever divide us. 

MILES SAMPA CLASHES WITH CCMG VOTER REGISTRATION OBSERVER

BRIEFING | MILES SAMPA CLASHES WITH CCMG VOTER REGISTRATION OBSERVER

A routine voter registration inspection by Patriotic Front presidential hopeful Miles Sampa escalated into a national flashpoint on Monday, after he confronted a Christian Churches Monitoring Group (CCMG) observer at a registration centre in Matero.

The incident has triggered sharp protests from election watchdogs and renewed concern about rising political pressure around the Electoral Commission of Zambia’s ongoing mass registration exercise.

Sampa, who toured several registration points in Lusaka, posted on Facebook that he had found “a lone lady ‘observer’” holding another person’s NRC in what he described as suspicious circumstances.

He claimed the observer had asked the individual to photocopy a police form for a lost voter’s card and had kept the NRC as “security.” He questioned who had accredited her and suggested she should “actually be arrested.”

But CCMG has pushed back strongly, accusing Sampa of intimidation and harassment. In a statement Monday evening, Group Programs Director Peter Mwanangombe said Sampa “forcefully grabbed” the observer’s accreditation card, “confronted them without cause,” and later published the observer’s personal data, including their NRC details, on his Facebook page.

Mwanangombe described the incident as a violation of Zambia’s Electoral Code of Conduct and a breach of Section 22 of the Cyber Crimes Act.

“Publicly exposing the personal details of an accredited observer not only violates their privacy and dignity, but places the individual at increased personal risk,” he said.

He added that the observer was legally deployed and accredited under the ECZ monitoring framework.

The group also criticised Police and ECZ officers who witnessed the confrontation but did not intervene.

“Despite the clear harassment of the observer, neither the Police nor the ECZ intervened,” Mwanangombe said. “Such actions erode public trust in the electoral process.”

https://youtu.be/p_uX96ZUjhI?si=bjOprlmhOo0_wOwg

Sampa has defended his actions on Facebook, framing the encounter as part of a broader crackdown on what he has repeatedly described as alleged registration irregularities.

“Rigging never works when people decide,” he wrote, suggesting the presence of unauthorised actors at registration points should worry citizens.

Election monitors warn that the episode reflects growing tension around the expanded voter registration window ahead of the 2026 polls.

With tempers rising and political rhetoric hardening across the registration centres, the ECZ is under fresh pressure to clarify observer accreditation rules, strengthen centre-level security and assert its independence.

CCMG says it will continue deploying its observers nationwide, but insists that State institutions must “safeguard the rights and security of those legally mandated to monitor the process.”

The Electoral Commission has not yet issued a formal response to the clash.

STUDENT RI0T AT MULUNGUSHI UNIVERSITY ….over power outage

STUDENT RI0T AT MULUNGUSHI UNIVERSITY

…..over power outage

Kapiri Mposhi… Tuesday November 25, 2025 (SMART EAGLES )

Students at Mulungushi University Main Campus in Kapiri Mposhi District reportedly ri0ted on Monday evening following a sudden power outage, causing property damage and disruption on campus.

According to Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi, the incident occurred between 8:00pm and 9:00pm after a truck accidentally damaged the electricity supply line to the university.

https://youtu.be/p_uX96ZUjhI?si=bjOprlmhOo0_wOwg

He said the resulting blackout reportedly triggered unrest among students.

The ri0t led to damage at the university’s Security Office, including broken glass panes, and several marketeers reported l00ting of their merchandise.

ZESCO personnel restored power at around 2:00am, and police officers continued monitoring the situation, which has now returned to normal.

“Police officers responded promptly to the situation and were able to bring the unrest under control. We are working closely with university authorities and other stakeholders to ensure that such incidents do not recur,” he said.

HICHILEMA’S DIPLOMACY UNDER FIRE —BUT THE FACTS TELL A DIFFERENT STORY

HICHILEMA’S DIPLOMACY UNDER FIRE —BUT THE FACTS TELL A DIFFERENT STORY

Claims circulating on social media suggesting that President Hakainde Hichilema is “skipping” key international engagements are misleading, incomplete, and fail to reflect the strategic and well-coordinated nature of Zambia’s current foreign policy.

A recent article by Emmanuel Mwamba alleges that President Hichilema has absconded from yet “another important regional meeting”, the 7th African Union–European Union Summit in Luanda, Angola. The piece further accuses the Head of State of prioritising “undefined” private travels and downplays Zambia’s representation at multilateral forums. A closer look reveals that these assertions conveniently ignore established diplomatic practice and the broader context of Zambia’s international agenda.

Delegation Is Diplomacy, Not Absence

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced that Zambia will be represented in Luanda by Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, S.C., M.P., the country’s Foreign Affairs Minister. This is standard diplomatic practice across governments and is neither unprecedented nor unusual.

Heads of State routinely delegate senior ministers to summits when scheduling demands, security considerations, or overlapping strategic engagements arise. What matters is not the physical presence of the President at every gathering, but the continuity and clarity of Zambia’s foreign policy positions, something Minister Haimbe is well-placed to articulate.

Zambia Remains Engaged at Global Level

Contrary to Mwamba’s allegations, Zambia has not “skipped” the global stage. President Hichilema’s recent visit to the United Kingdom and Scotland, falsely portrayed as “undefined”, was part of ongoing bilateral and investment-focused engagements. These visits strengthen economic cooperation, climate-financing opportunities, and strategic partnerships crucial for Zambia’s debt restructuring and long-term development.

It is also misleading to suggest that the President’s attendance at President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s inauguration indicates a neglect of regional priorities. Tanzania remains one of Zambia’s most important neighbours and economic partners. Strengthening political and economic ties with Dar es Salaam is vital for regional trade, the TAZARA corridor, and energy cooperation. Diplomatic engagements with neighbouring countries are foundational to Zambia’s foreign policy.

AU–EU Summit: Zambia’s Agenda Remains Clear

The Luanda Summit is a crucial platform focusing on peace and security, economic cooperation, sustainable development, climate action, investment, and innovation. Zambia’s positions on these issues, including regional stability, clean-energy transition, trade, and infrastructure expansion, remain unchanged and continue to be advanced through its official delegation.

https://youtu.be/p_uX96ZUjhI?si=bjOprlmhOo0_wOwg

Minister Haimbe will present Zambia’s input on:

1. Strengthening multilateral governance;

2. Enhancing peace and security cooperation;

3. Expanding green investment opportunities; and

4. Deepening Africa-EU trade and technology partnerships

This ensures continuity in Zambia’s diplomatic posture and guarantees that the nation’s interests are firmly represented.

A Pattern of Misleading Commentary

This is not the first time Mwamba has attempted to paint a picture of absentee leadership. His critiques often ignore core facts and established international norms. Zambia’s diplomatic engagements, from London to regional capitals, are guided by national interest, not social-media narratives.

A Mature and Strategic Foreign Policy

Zambia continues to assert itself as a responsible regional player and a constructive voice in multilateral forums. Whether represented by the President or a senior Cabinet Minister, the country’s foreign policy remains active, coherent, and forward-looking.

Rather than focusing on personalities, the national conversation should emphasise outcomes: investment secured, partnerships strengthened, regional ties reinforced, and Zambia’s long-term interests protected.

This is the real story, one that misleading commentary cannot obscure.

BILL 7: A SURRENDER OF LEGISLATIVE INDEPENDENCE  TO THE EXECUTIVE- Isaac Simbeye

BILL 7: A SURRENDER OF LEGISLATIVE INDEPENDENCE  TO THE EXECUTIVE

By Isaac Simbeye

1.0 INTRODUCTION

In the present article, the author argues that Members of Parliament (MPs) supporting Bill 7 are scheming to erode their own independence and security of office, bringing it to a level comparable to that of nominated MPs. It will be argued that Bill 7 also seeks to consolidate power within the executive over legislative independence.

2.0 THE MECHANIC OF THE  CHANGE: Abolishing By-Elections

One of the critical amendments that Bill 7 seeks to effect is the one relating to Article 72(8) of the Constitution of Zambia 2016, which involves doing away with by-elections for MPs who are sponsored by a political party. The proposed amendment is couched in the following terms;

“Article 72 of the Constitution is amended by the —

(b) deletion of clause 8 and the substitution therefor of the following:

(8) Where a vacancy occurs in the National Assembly for a Member of Parliament, the Speaker shall, within seven days of the occurrence of the vacancy, inform the Electoral Commission of the vacancy, in writing, and the political party that sponsored the member who held the seat shall elect another person to replace that member to assume that seat in the National Assembly.

(12) The Electoral Commission shall, by regulations— (a) set the date and time for submission of the name of the person elected in accordance with clause (8), to the Electoral Commission, to assume the vacant seat in the National Assembly; …”

Should this amendment be approved, each time a Parliamentary seat sponsored by a political party becomes vacant, there will be no need for by-elections, as the sponsoring political party will simply nominate any party member to take over.

3.0 CONSOLIDATING EXECUTIVE POWER: The Resident’s New Prerogative

In post-independence Zambia, the President of the Republic of Zambia is also the president of the political party that sponsored his presidential candidacy. Therefore, it is apparent that he runs both the executive branch of government and his political party. Ultimately, he has a significant influence on major decisions of his political party, particularly on which candidates should stand as Members of Parliament.

Of course, if the candidate being considered has to be voted for during a by-election, as under the current constitutional provision, the sponsoring political party is likely to consider the candidate’s popularity and likability among the electorate. It is contended that if the by-election is done away with, the only consideration might be loyalty to the party leadership, as the electorate plays no role in replacing the MP. What follows is the likelihood of choosing loyalists over a credible candidate who is capable of performing.

Effectively, the amendments have the effect of consolidating more power within the executive while taking away the independence of Parliament for the reasons advanced above. It is contended that the dangers oflooming erosion of legislative independence coming with this amendment outweighs the preached the cost benefit in this our young unstable democracy.

https://youtu.be/p_uX96ZUjhI?si=bjOprlmhOo0_wOwg

In this regard, MPs who rely on their ability to perform rather than excessive loyalty to the extent of losing independence in carrying out their legislative duties and functions are warned or indeed advised to vote against this amendment, in case Bill 7 is sneaked back into Parliament against the order of the Constitutional Court.

4.0 THE EROSION OF POLITICAL PARTY SECURITY

There is a possibility that what is happening to the country’s main opposition political party in terms of changes of office bearers at the office of the Registrar of Societies may repeat itself in the next main opposition political party. In such a case, it is possible that the future Republican President will have power over both his own political party and the main opposition political party, and ultimately have a say in who fills the vacant parliamentary seats, as there will be no need to hold elections.

From precedent, elected MPs can easily lose their seats upon a simple conviction and being sent to prison for at least six months, and the seat left behind will have to be filled by appointing loyalists to the executive. This is another angle from which this proposed amendment is likely to erode the independence of the legislature.

In other words, the security of tenure of MPs will be similar to that of Nominated MPs.

5.0 CONCLUSION

It has been argued that Bill 7 represents a fundamental shift in the balance of power, strategically eroding the independence and security of elected Members of Parliament sponsored by political parties. By eliminating by-elections, the bill transfers the power to fill legislative vacancies from the electorate to political party structures.

Given the President’s dominance over their party, this change effectively consolidates power within the executive, prioritising loyalty over competence and undermining the legislature’s role as a separate, independent branch of government. Ultimately, the passage of this amendment would not only weaken individual MPs but also diminish the very foundations of a robust parliamentary democracy.

BILL 7 IN THE LIGHT: EXAMINING EACH AMENDMENT AND THE DEBATE AROUND IT-‎A Studied Response by Rev Walter Mwambazi

BILL 7 IN THE LIGHT: EXAMINING EACH AMENDMENT AND THE DEBATE AROUND IT

‎A Studied Response by Rev Walter Mwambazi

‎In my earlier reflections over the last two days, I argued for withdrawal of Bill 7. Later, I embraced the idea that instead of shelving the process, we must drag it into the light – publish submissions, debate openly, and let citizens themselves decide. With that in mind, I want to walk through each of the proposed amendments in Bill 7, raise the counterarguments voiced by stakeholders, and add balancing points where they exist.

‎✍ (a) Increase in Constituency Seats: 156 to  211

‎(revise the composition of the National Assembly to provide for the increase in the number of constituencybased seats from one hundred and fifty-six to two hundred and eleven to actualise the delimitation report by the Electoral Commission)

‎✅ Proposal: Expand parliamentary seats to reflect the Electoral Commission’s delimitation report.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Critics argue this will balloon costs in an already strained economy. More MPs mean more salaries, allowances, and administrative overhead.
‎ Some see it as a political move to create safe seats for ruling party dominance.
‎ What criteria will be used to determine which constituencies are divided and in what way? This will bolster seats for the party in charge by utilizing the delimitation exercise in their strongholds

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Proponents argue that population growth and uneven representation demand new constituencies. Without expansion, rural and peri-urban areas risk underrepresentation.

‎✍ (b) Mixed-Member Proportional Representation

‎(revise the electoral system for election to the National Assembly to provide for a mixed-member proportional representation electoral system to guarantee the representation of women, youths and persons with disabilities)

‎✅Proposal: Guarantee representation for women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Skeptics fear this could be tokenistic, with parties filling quotas without empowering these groups meaningfully.
‎ Others worry about complexity – will voters understand the system, and will it be implemented fairly?

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Advocates say Zambia’s democracy has long excluded marginalized voices. Proportional representation could finally give them a seat at the table.

‎✍ (c) Fresh Nominations on Resignation

(revise the provision relating to filing of fresh nominations on resignation of a candidate)

‎✅Proposal: Clarify rules for candidates who resign and re-file nominations.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Critics see this as a loophole for political maneuvering, allowing candidates to game the system.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Clear rules could prevent confusion and litigation, ensuring smoother elections.

‎✍ (d) By-Elections

‎(revise the provisions relating to by-elections)

https://youtu.be/p_uX96ZUjhI?si=bjOprlmhOo0_wOwg

‎✅ Proposal: Revise procedures governing by-elections.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Stakeholders worry this could weaken accountability, especially if by-elections are delayed or restricted.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Streamlining by-elections could reduce costs and political instability.

‎✍ (e) Nominated Members of Parliament

‎(revise the number of nominated Members of Parliament)

‎✅Proposal: Revise the number of nominated MPs.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Critics argue nominated MPs are often used to reward loyalists, undermining democratic legitimacy.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Nominated seats can ensure representation of groups who may not win elections but whose voices matter nationally.

‎✍ (f) Harmonize Parliament and Council Terms

‎(harmonise the term of Parliament and council to achieve a five-year term)

‎✅Proposal: Align both to five-year terms.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Some fear this could reduce flexibility, especially if councils need staggered elections for accountability.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Harmonization could reduce election fatigue and costs, while creating consistency across governance levels.

‎✍ (g) Vacancies for Ministers Before Elections

‎✅Proposal: Ministers vacate office 90 days before a general election.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Critics worry this could destabilize governance, leaving ministries rudderless during critical pre-election periods.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ It could prevent incumbents from abusing state resources for campaigns.

‎✍ (h) Remove Two-Term Limit for Mayors and Council Chairpersons

‎✅Proposal: Allow indefinite re-election.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎Seen as a power entrenchment tool, risking local political dynasties.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ If citizens want continuity, they should have the right to re-elect effective leaders.

‎✍ (i) MPs in Council Composition

‎‎✅Proposal: Include constituency MPs in councils.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Critics say this blurs separation of powers, giving MPs undue influence at local level.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ MPs already represent local constituencies; their inclusion could improve coordination between national and local governance.

‎✍ (j) Qualifications for Secretary to the Cabinet

‎✅Proposal: Revise qualifications.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Stakeholders fear this could lower standards or politicize the role.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Updating qualifications could modernize the office, aligning it with current governance needs.

‎✍ (k) Attorney-General and Solicitor-General Continuity

‎✅Proposal: Allow them to remain in office until successors are appointed.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Critics worry this could delay appointments and entrench partisan figures.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Continuity ensures legal stability during transitions.

‎✍ (l) Redefinition of “Child” and “Adult”

‎✅Proposal: Revise definitions.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Stakeholders fear this could impact rights, especially around marriage, voting, or criminal responsibility.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Clearer definitions could align Zambia with international conventions and protect vulnerable groups.

‎✍ (m) Election Petition Timelines

‎✅Proposal: Clarify period for concluding petitions.

‎ Counterarguments:
‎ Critics worry timelines may be too short, denying justice, or too long, delaying governance.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Clear timelines prevent endless litigation and uncertainty.

‎✍ (n) Miscellaneous Provisions
‎Catch-all for incidental matters.

‎Counterarguments:
‎ Stakeholders fear this is a blank cheque, allowing hidden clauses to slip through.

‎⚖️ Balancing Point:
‎ Technical adjustments may be necessary to align reforms with existing law.

‎Conclusion: Transparency is the Only Way Forward

‎Each amendment has arguments for and against. Some proposals could strengthen democracy, others risk undermining it. But the REAL ISSUE is not JUST THE CONTENT – it’s the PROCESS. Without TRANSPARENCY, every clause is suspect. Without publishing submissions, every objection feels silenced.

‎So my call remains: publish the submissions, debate openly, and let citizens decide. Bill 7 must face the light of day. Only then can we separate genuine reform from political maneuvering, and only then can Zambia move beyond the shadow of Bill 10 into a future where constitutional reform is truly people-driven.

MAKEBI ‘Family Wishes’ ZULU SLAMS CDF ABUSE

MAKEBI ZULU SLAMS CDF ABUSE

Prominent Constitutional Lawyer and Patriotic Front (PF) Presidential Contender Makebi Zulu is disappointed that 8.3 Billion Kwacha was unaccounted for as captured in the 2023 Auditor General report on CDF.

He is also concerned that 9.4 Billion Kwacha was diverted to unauthorised CDF projects.

Mr. Zulu, therefore, warned that those cited for mismanagement of CDF in the 2023 Auditor General report due to failure to recover loans, failure to account for funds, and changes to projects without approval, will be held accountable.

He stated that the Auditor General’s Report revealed that examples of theft were also noted, where individuals added themselves as beneficiaries to siphon funds.

Mr. Zulu pointed out that the majority of councils failing to recover loans are in UPND strongholds, raising concerns about possible patronage and abuse.

He observed that eight out of the ten provinces had utilisation rates lower than 50% for community projects.

Mr. Zulu expressed surprise that the government pushed an annual increase in budget allocation despite rampant abuse.

https://youtu.be/p_uX96ZUjhI?si=bjOprlmhOo0_wOwg

He proposed that if elected President of Zambia next year, he would involve the media, the church, and NGOs to closely monitor the implementation of CDF for it to achieve its intended purpose.

Mr. Zulu pledged to remove the dominance of political cadres in the programme by encouraging broader participation of all citizens.

He warned that if not carefully managed, the programme would become a financing tool for cadres, with only those connected to them participating.

Jacob Zuma’s party Sending Recruits to Russia: Training or Secret Shadow Army?

 MK Sending Recruits to Russia: Training or Secret Shadow Army?

A shocking revelation has emerged about MK’s recent activities. Young South Africans were reportedly sent to Russia under the pretense of bodyguard training. But leaked audio and eyewitness accounts suggest something far more alarming — these men were put through combat training and possibly deployed in conflict zones.

One leaked voice note has an MK member telling recruits they’re “ruining our plans,” raising the chilling question: what exactly are these plans?

The story gets even stranger. Former president Jacob Zuma was recently seen in Burkina Faso, a military-ruled country with close ties to Russia. Could MK be using these connections to train its own armed forces for future influence in South Africa?

Families of the recruits claim they were misled — some even signing contracts in Russian they couldn’t read. Phones were confiscated, and instead of learning bodyguard skills, they were put through intense military exercises. Sources say this isn’t just training; it’s preparation for a well-organized, foreign-backed force.

This raises serious questions: Is MK building a private army? Are young South Africans being used as pawns in a political and international power game? The leaked audios, international ties, and mysterious training missions make this a story South Africans cannot ignore.

South Africa deserves answers. How far is MK willing to go, and what are the risks to our democracy?

LONG QUEUES CHARACTERIZE VOTER REGISTRATION IN KATUBA AS DEADLINE LOOMS

LONG QUEUES CHARACTERIZE VOTER REGISTRATION IN KATUBA AS DEADLINE LOOMS

Long queues have characterized the voter registration exercise at Shifwankula and Moomba Primary School registration centers in Katuba Constituency, Chibombo District of Central Province.

This comes as Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chairperson, Mwangala Zaloumis, conducted an inspection tour of the centers, alongside other ECZ officials, to assess the progress and challenges of the ongoing registration process.

Ms Zaloumis has urged citizens who have not yet registered as voters, to take advantage of the remaining period in exercising their constitutional guaranteed Right by registering as a voter.

The voter registration exercise is scheduled to close on November 26th, 2025, prompting a last-minute rush as eligible voters attempt to register before the deadline.

China is now building full-scale mockups of Taiwanese and U.S.-supplied weapons for PLA strike training.

Fresh footage shows detailed replicas of:

• M142 HIMARS
• Thunderbolt-2000 (雷霆2000) MLRS
• Humvee variants
• CM-32 “Clouded Leopard” IFV
• Other ROC armored vehicles and launchers

China has been constructing these mock targets at multiple training bases since at least mid-2024, but the new models are far more accurate and appear tailored to systems Taiwan has received from the U.S. over the last two years.

Beijing is rehearsing how to destroy Taiwan’s core ground forces and U.S.-origin platforms on Day 1 of a conflict.

CHARLES CHANDA URGES PRESIDENT HICHILEMA TO CHANGE PUBLIC PERCEPTION FOR BETTER GOVERNANCE

‎CHARLES CHANDA URGES PRESIDENT HICHILEMA TO CHANGE PUBLIC PERCEPTION FOR BETTER GOVERNANCE

‎Charles Chanda, leader of the United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ), has called on President Hakainde Hichilema to stop believing that he is hated by Zambians.

‎Chanda believes that changing this perception is essential for the President to better serve the nation.

‎Chanda’s comments come in reaction to the President’s recent address, where concerns about constitutional amendments were discussed.

‎He stated that Zambians are not against the amendments themselves, but they are worried about how quickly the process is moving without listening to the voices of the people. “It is important for the President to understand that people want to be part of these discussions,” he said.

‎While Chanda indicated that UPPZ supports the need for constitutional changes, he emphasized the importance of addressing contentious issues first, particularly the 2016 constitution. “This constitution has left many citizens confused, and even angels in heaven would struggle to interpret it. We need clarity first,” he explained.

‎Chanda urged the government to engage more with the public and take their concerns seriously. “Listening to the voices of the people is key to restoring trust in leadership,” he remarked.

‎He also encouraged Zambians to unite in pushing for meaningful changes that would benefit everyone.

‎In conclusion, Chanda reaffirmed his commitment to working with the government, saying, “We agree on the need for amendments, but let’s do it the right way, by including the voices of the people.” His call for transparency and a collaborative approach reflects the desires of Zambians for a more inclusive governance process.

WHO IS BEHIND THE PROLONGED STAY OF FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU’S REMAINS IN SOUTH AFRICA?

WHO IS BEHIND THE PROLONGED STAY OF FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU’S REMAINS IN SOUTH AFRICA?

Former President Edgar Lungu’s remains have stayed in South Africa for five months despite a court order allowing the Zambian government to repatriate them for a state funeral. The delay stems from a standoff between Lungu’s family and the government over the funeral arrangements and disagreements about his alleged last wishes.

Behind the scenes, the key figures influencing the family’s decisions appear to be former First Lady Esther Lungu, Lungu’s daughter Tasila and his sister Bertha Lungu, lawyer Makebi Zulu, and political allies Richard Musukwa and Jonas Zimba. This group is believed to be directing the family’s position and dictating the pace of negotiations.

The dispute reflects deeper political tensions, with the family wanting control over how Lungu’s legacy is handled, while the government insists it is ready to honour him with a state funeral.

For now, the standoff continues, unsettling for many Zambians who believe a former Head of State deserves closure, dignity, and a final resting place in the country he once led.

With each passing week, pressure grows on both sides to find common ground. Whether that happens soon depends on genuine dialogue, mutual respect, and willingness to separate personal grief from political mistrust.

Until then, the question of who is truly dictating the burial impasse remains one of the most scrutinized and sensitive political mysteries in Zambia today.

US officially labels Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his allies as Foreign Terrorist organization

The Trump administration has taken a significant step by designating Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his close associates as members of a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). This classification targets the group referred to as “Cartel de los Soles” (Cartel of the Suns). Experts often cite this term as a representation of corrupt Venezuelan officials and a loose network rather than a traditional, structured criminal entity.

Announced on November 16, this classification is a crucial part of Washington’s escalating strategy against the Venezuelan government.

The designation permits the US administration to impose stricter sanctions against Maduro’s assets and infrastructure. More notably, according to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the FTO label provides the United States with a “whole bunch of new options” for action. Although the designation does not explicitly authorize lethal force, it significantly enhances the US’s ability to consider military action in the region.

This move follows months of heightened tensions, including a major US military buildup. More than a dozen warships and 15,000 troops are currently positioned in the region under what is termed “Operation Southern Spear.”

Previous anti-drug trafficking operations conducted by the US military have already resulted in significant casualties, underscoring the severity of the ongoing actions. The US military has also conducted significant aerial demonstrations off Venezuela’s coast, leading the Federal Aviation Administration to issue warnings that prompted some international airlines to postpone flights from Venezuela.

Despite the aggressive military posturing and new designation, President Trump has maintained a complex strategic landscape, leaving a diplomatic discussion with Maduro as a possibility.

The administration emphasizes that its immediate focus is on curtailing the illegal trafficking of migrants and drugs, yet regime change is widely viewed as a potential outcome of these sustained efforts. President Trump himself suggested that discussions might be feasible “at a certain time.”

However, the administration’s aggressive approach faces considerable domestic opposition. A CBS News/YouGov poll revealed that 70% of Americans oppose military intervention in Venezuela. Furthermore, 76% believe the administration has not provided a clear explanation of its military strategy, indicating a lack of clarity in public communication.

‘Unheard of’: Zimbabwean tycoon Sir Wicknell Chivayo splurges R92m on donations

Zimbabwean tycoon and tenderpreneur Sir Wicknell Chivayo is trending after he splurged over $5.3 million, which amounts to R92 million, on his birthday.

The 45-year-old business tycoon, who was named Africa’s second biggest philanthropist earlier this year by Fortune Africa Magazine, went all out for his birthday.

SIR WICKNELL CHIVAYO SPLURGES R92 MILLION ON BIRTHDAY DONATIONS
The Zimbabwean billionaire donated expensive cars, buses and cash to various organisations, his church and women’s empowerment initiatives.

Thanks to his huge social media following, Chivayo often trends whenever he posts or is posted about. The owner of Intratrek Zimbabwe took to social media to announce his birthday donations.

Among the donations were six 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 VXR vehicles worth $1,140,000 (R19.8 million) to Zimbabwe’s ruling party, Zanu PF’s Women’s League top brass.

The Women’s League also received ten Toyota Hilux double cabs valued at $650,000 (R11.3 million) and five additional double cabs to the Young Women for Economic Development (4ED) initiative, totalling $325,000 (R5.6 million).

However, Sir Wicknell Chivayo, who has close ties with President Emmerson Mnangagwa, also made cash donations to the two organisations, with the Women’s League receiving $100,000 (about R1.7 million) and Young Women 4ED receiving $500,000 (approximately R8.7 million).

His donations come against the backdrop of calls by several heads of state and international organisations for the emancipation and empowerment of women worldwide.

However, his birthday spree was not limited to women, but also extended his generosity to his church, Johanne Masowe Chishanu Church.

Chivayo, who is a devoted member of the Johanne Masowe Chishanu church, donated ten 75-seater buses to the church.

Two more buses were donated to local schools, bringing his birthday generosity to a whopping $5,235,000, which amounts to R92 million.

Despite living lavishly, donations have fast become his signature. This is not the first time he has made similar donations.

In recent years, he has been recognising some of Zimbabwe’s great talents, heroes and institutions.

Last year, he hogged headlines when he donated R18 million to the ZCC church after attending their annual Easter gathering with the Zimbabwean president.

CHIVAYO’S COLOURFUL BUSINESS PORTFOLIO REVEALED
No doubt his donations have been making headlines, with many acknowledging his act of kindness. However, others were quick to drag his colourful business portfolio into the mix.

The publication has since connected the dots about his streams of income from transport and logistics to tenders.

Sir Wicknell Chivayo once revealed that he is into transport and logistics, majoring in fuel transportation.

His company also plies several routes in the region and is arguably one of the biggest fuel transporters in the SADC region.

However, he also doubles as a tenderpreneur. Over the years, he has won several multimillion-dollar tenders across Africa, primarily in the energy sector, through his parent company, Intratrek.

The company majors in engineering, procurement, and construction within the renewable energy sector. Intratrek has expanded its business to Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania.

Thanks to the company’s success, he has had the opportunity to rub shoulders with several prominent public figures and heads of state.

Some of the heads of state who have hosted Sir Wicknell Chivayo include Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, Kenyan President William Ruto, and Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In 2016, during a radio interview with Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa, Chivayo revealed that he had made a fortune from tenders across Africa.

However, many find it puzzling that at the age of 19, he was already a millionaire.

82-page dossier submitted to the ICC accuses Tanzanian govt of carrying out crimes against humanity

By Hopewell Chin’ono

A confidential 82-page dossier submitted to the International Criminal Court accuses the government of Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan of carrying out widespread and systematic crimes against humanity killing thousands of citizens, culminating in the deadliest political crackdown in the country’s modern history.

The document, filed under Article 15(2) of the Rome Statute, urges the ICC Prosecutor to open a formal investigation into what it describes as a state-engineered attack on civilians, involving murder, extermination, torture, enforced disappearances and a coordinated internet blackout used to conceal mass killings.

This submission is extremely important because it is the highest-level legal step that can be taken against a sitting government, formally placing Tanzania and President Samia Suluhu Hassan under the scrutiny of the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity.

It moves the crisis from political debate to international criminal law, listing offences such as murder, extermination, torture, enforced disappearances and the use of an internet blackout as an inhumane act.

Few ICC filings ever directly name a sitting president, and this document does so clearly and repeatedly, making it one of the most serious international legal challenges Tanzania has ever faced. If the ICC decides to act on it, the situation shifts into a global case with diplomatic, political and legal consequences that go far beyond Tanzania’s borders.

ETHIOPIAN VOLCANO ERUPTION SENDS ASH TO DELHI, HITTING FLIGHT OPERATIONS

ETHIOPIAN VOLCANO ERUPTION SENDS ASH TO DELHI, HITTING FLIGHT OPERATIONS

A plume of volcanic ash from Ethiopia has swept across the Red Sea through Oman and Yemen and reached Delhi, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said.

The eruption of the Hayli Gubbi volcano in Ethiopia which was dormant for several thousand years began on Sunday morning, sending an ash column thousands of feet into the atmosphere.

Several flights have been cancelled, delayed or rerouted in India because of the ash, with the country’s aviation regulator asking airlines to “strictly avoid” affected areas.

The level of ash contamination is unclear, experts said, but it is unlikely to affect Delhi’s air quality, which was “very poor” as per official readings on Tuesday.

Volcanic ash is a cloud of tiny, abrasive particles released into the atmosphere during an eruption. It can damage aircraft engines, contaminate airfields and reduce visibility, making it hazardous to flight operations.

“The affected altitude is between 8.5km (5.2 miles) and 15km above the sea level,” Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, director general of IMD, told the BBC.

“It will temporarily affect satellite functions and flight operations. But it is unlikely to affect weather conditions or air quality. It reached northern India last night and seems to be headed towards China,” Mr Mohapatra said.

According Skymet Weather, a private agency, it is difficult to predict how long the ash will take to disperse, but IMD estimates that Delhi’s skies should clear out by Tuesday evening.

Aircraft operations have been disrupted as a result of the ash, with Air India cancelling 11 flights, while carriers such as IndiGo, Akasa Air and KLM also reportedly affected.

In a statement on X, IndiGo said it was tracking the situation “in coordination with international aviation bodies”.

Mumbai Airport has asked passengers to check the status of their flights before leaving for the airport.

India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation issued an advisory to flight operators asking pilots to immediately report any suspected ash encounter, including engine performance anomalies or cabin smoke or odour.

The advisory also directs carriers to inspect aircraft operating near affected zones, and “suspend or delay operations to impacted airports if conditions deteriorate”.

There are three levels of volcanic ash contamination – low, medium and high, with guidance on how long a pilot can fly in those concentrations before causing significant damage.

The level of contamination in this instance is unclear.

“Measuring contamination caused by volcanic eruptions take a lot of preparation. Sensors have to be deployed in advance. This particular volcanic eruption did not provide any room for preparation. So the level of contamination is not known,” GP Sharma, president (meteorology and climate change) at Skymet Weather said.

Professor Atalay Ayele of Addis Ababa University told the BBC that the eruption stood out because the volcano had been dormant for thousands of years.

He said it had been unusually noisy but had not triggered significant seismic activity. The Hayli Gubbi volcano lies close to the Erta Ale, an area known for its active volcanic spots.

Volcanic ash clouds are rare. But when Iceland’s Eyjafjallajökull volcano erupted in 2010, it caused global travel chaos. UK and European airspace was shut or partially shut, leading to the worst air-travel disruption since World War Two.

Trump ends 15% tariff on Ghana’s Cocoa and Farm exports

Ghana has officially received confirmation from the United States that Washington has fully removed the 15 percent tariff previously imposed on the West African nation’s cocoa and agricultural exports, according to an announcement by Ghana’s Foreign Minister on Monday.

The tariff rollback reverses a Trump-era policy that had significantly increased the cost of Ghanaian produce entering the US market.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa confirmed the development on X, stating that the US administration had formally informed the Government of Ghana that “President Trump’s 15% imposition of tariffs on Cocoa and certain qualifying agricultural products from Ghana has been rescinded.”

He added that American diplomats confirmed the tariff reversal came into effect on November 13, 2025, following a new Executive Order signed by President Trump.

This decision comes at a notable point in Ghana–US relations. Accra recently accepted dozens of deportees from the United States exclusively West Africans, a move the government described as humanitarian but which drew domestic criticism. Washington had also recently reversed visa restrictions on Ghanaian travelers after months of diplomatic engagement.

Ghana, the world’s second-largest cocoa producer, relies heavily on export revenues to stabilize its currency and finance public spending.

The economic impact of the reversal is substantial:Ghana exports an average of 78,000 metric tons of cocoa beans to the United States annually. At the current spot price, the Minister estimated that the country “stands to raise additional revenue of US$60 million… each year” as a direct result of the tariff rescission.

The exemptions also cover several other Ghanaian agricultural products, including:Cashew nuts, Avocados, Bananas, Mangoes, Plantain, Pineapples, Coconuts, Ginger, Peppers.

The Foreign Minister welcomed the positive development from the US, which is the world’s leading importer of chocolate and cocoa products, stating that both nations “will continue to forge closer and mutually beneficial relations.”

US to provide Intelligence support and defence equipment to Nigeria

The Presidency has announced that the United States Government has affirmed its readiness to deepen security cooperation with Nigeria.

This includes the provision of enhanced intelligence support, defence equipment, and articles to bolster ongoing operations against terrorist and violent extremist groups within the country.

This commitment follows extensive discussions and engagements held last week in Washington, DC, between a high-level Nigerian delegation and senior US officials. The meetings aimed to strengthen the security partnership between the two nations and explore new avenues for cooperation.

The high-level Nigerian delegation was led by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Its members included the Attorney General of the Federation, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Defence Intelligence, and the Inspector General of Police. The delegation met with senior officials from across the US Congress, the White House Faith Office, the State Department, the National Security Council, and the Department of War.

According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, a core part of the engagement involved refuting allegations of genocide in Nigeria. The delegation maintained that violent attacks affect families and communities across all religious and ethnic lines. They rejected the wrongful framing of the situation, arguing such a portrayal only serves to divide Nigerians and distort the realities on the ground.

The Presidency stated that these discussions offered a crucial opportunity to correct misconceptions about Nigeria, forge a constructive partnership with the United States, reinforce mutual trust, and advance a coordinated approach to protecting vulnerable communities, particularly in the Middle Belt region.

The United States also expressed its willingness to extend complementary support, including humanitarian assistance to affected populations in the Middle Belt and technical support aimed at strengthening early-warning mechanisms.

Both countries agreed to immediately implement a non-binding cooperation framework and to establish a Joint Working Group to ensure a unified and coordinated approach to the agreed areas of cooperation. In return, the Nigerian delegation reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening civilian protection measures.

The Federal Government emphasized its awareness of heightened sensitivities regarding religious freedom and security, assuring citizens that firm, urgent, and coordinated steps are being taken to secure the nation.

The announcement from the Presidency comes weeks after US President Donald Trump issued a strong threat, stating he would send US forces into Nigeria with “guns-a-blazing” if the country did not curb what he described as the killing of Christians by terrorists. He had also previously declared Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” over these killings.

Trump had explicitly threatened to stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria and instructed the Department of War to prepare for “possible action” to “completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists.”

In response, President Bola Tinubu had previously refuted the claims of genocide against Christians, maintaining that Nigeria remains committed to religious freedom and tolerance.

Former Brazilian President denies escape from jail, blames ‘Hallucinations’ for tampering with ankle tag

On his first full day in jail, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro told a judge he had violated his ankle monitoring device the day before while under house arrest. The reason? A nervous breakdown and hallucinations he claimed were caused by a recent change in his medication.

The 70-year-old former leader was ordered into preemptive jailing on Saturday by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, who deemed Bolsonaro a flight risk. This follows the former President’s sentencing in September to 27 years in prison for attempting a coup to remain in power after his 2022 electoral defeat.

Assistant Judge Luciana Sorrentino’s report, published in a Supreme Court document on Sunday, detailed Bolsonaro’s explanation.

The former President stated he had “hallucinations” suggesting that the ankle monitor contained a wire tap, which prompted him to try and uncover it. Bolsonaro further told the judge that he did not recall having a breakdown of this magnitude previously and speculated it might be linked to a medication change last week. He once again denied any intention to escape.

The court document also recorded Bolsonaro as saying he had not been sleeping well and was experiencing “a certain paranoia” that fueled his curiosity to open the monitoring device. Bolsonaro claimed that none of the family members or aides present at his house saw him tamper with the device, stating he began touching it late at night and stopped around midnight.

De Moraes received information that the far-right leader’s ankle monitor was violated at 12:08 a.m. on Saturday, leading to the arrest order hours later.

The Supreme Court ruling in September confirmed that Bolsonaro tried to stage a coup and retain the presidency after his loss to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in 2022. The same Supreme Court panel is scheduled to vote on the preemptive arrest order this Monday.

Bolsonaro’s meeting with the assistant judge on Sunday was procedural but also provided an opportunity for his lawyers to argue for his return to house arrest due to his poor health—a request Justice De Moraes has previously rejected.

President Lula commented on his predecessor’s jailing while at the G20 meeting in South Africa: “The court ruled, that’s decided. Everyone knows what he did.” Outside the federal police headquarters, a mix of pro-Bolsonaro protesters, demanding the removal of Lula and De Moraes, and detractors, celebrating the arrest, gathered.

Miss Universe Africa resigns

Olivia Yacé, the Ivorian beauty queen who placed fourth runner-up and won the continental title for Africa and Oceania at Miss Universe 2025, has renounced her Miss Universe Africa & Oceania title, citing her commitment to personal values and integrity.

The Miss Côte d’Ivoire Committee (COMICI) announced this on Monday, Nov. 24, adding that she is withdrawing from her elected mandates with Miss Universe.

The committee also said it is informing the Miss Universe organization “of the withdrawal of the Ivorian candidate from all titles and mandates issued by this organization.”

“The COMICI (Miss Côte d’Ivoire Committee), holder of the Miss Universe license, regrets to announce the withdrawal of its representative, Olivia YACE, Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2021, for personal reasons, from her elected mandates with Miss Universe, obtained at the conclusion of the 74th edition of the Miss Universe International pageant, to be held on November 21, 2025, at the Impact Arena in Bangkok,” it said in a statement on Facebook.

The COMICI added, Yace is giving up her title of Miss Universe Africa & Oceania, effective immediately.

She will be formally returning her sash to the organization “to ensure that no one is unaware of this and to attest to this joint decision.”

Yace also announced her resignation in a statement posted on her official Facebook page on Monday. She explained that she is stepping away to preserve the principles that guide her life and career, following a dramatic Miss Universe finale in Bangkok.

Reflecting on her experience, she wrote, “As Côte d’Ivoire’s representative at Miss Universe 2025, I proved I am capable of achieving great things despite adversity. The competition tested my strength, determination, and readiness to overcome challenges.”

However, she emphasised that remaining in the role requires alignment with her core values.

“To continue, I must remain true to my pillars: respect, dignity, excellence, and equal opportunity,” she said.

Describing her resignation as a thoughtful and value-driven decision, Yacé announced her withdrawal from the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania and any future association with the Miss Universe Committee. She emphasised that although her journey as a beauty queen has been marked by discipline and purpose, she no longer feels she can fully realise her potential within the constraints of the title.

Yace wrote: “My mission has always been to inspire younger generations. As I stated onstage, I want to be a role model for young girls, encouraging them to confidently enter spaces where they may feel unwelcome and to embrace their identity proudly.

“Stepping away will enable me to dedicate myself fully to defending the values I hold dear.”

Yacé extended a call for unity and courage to Black and African-descendant communities worldwide, urging them to persist in breaking barriers and making their voices heard.

“I call upon Black, African, Caribbean, American, and Afro-descendant communities to continue entering spaces where you are not expected, opening paths for those who follow.

“Never allow others to define or limit your potential. Our presence matters, and our voices must be heard.”

She also congratulated the new Miss Universe and sent well wishes to Miss Universe Jamaica for a swift recovery.

Yacé concluded with gratitude and optimism: “I deeply appreciate the support I have received and the experiences that have shaped me. I now embark on a new journey with unwavering determination to uplift and inspire. Thank you to all who have been part of this exceptional adventure. IT’S TIME FOR AFRICA.”

Yace impressed many pageant fans and supporters beyond her own nation with her eloquence during the question and answer portion. Many believed Yace deserved a higher rank, with some stating on social media that she should have won Miss Universe 2025.

Her resignation comes in the wake of one of the most turbulent Miss Universe pageants in recent years, marked by public disputes, allegations of rigged judging, stage mishaps, and a viral confrontation involving the eventual winner, Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch.

WHY IS AFRICA STILL POOR?

WHY IS AFRICA STILL POOR?

Written By: Chadrin Nseemani

Africa is a continent blessed beyond measure , rich soil, priceless minerals, powerful rivers, brilliant young people, and cultures that breathe strength. Yet, despite all this abundance, many of our nations still struggle with poverty. The question is painful but necessary. why is Africa still poor?

First, our biggest enemy has never been a lack of resources, it has been a lack of control over those resources. For generations, Africa has produced the raw materials that build the world, but we have rarely been the ones to process, refine, or profit from them. We export diamonds, gold, copper, cobalt, and oil  and import poverty. Until we own the entire value chain, true wealth will continue slipping through our fingers.

Second, corruption remains one of the sharpest knives cutting the continent’s progress. When leaders misuse public resources, steal opportunities, and put personal gain above national development, the people suffer while a few grow rich. Africa cannot rise on broken foundations.

Third, Africa has been kept in a cycle of dependence. Loans, aid, and external partnerships often come with conditions that limit our growth. No nation can prosper when it is told what to do, how to do it, and who to do it with. We must stand on our feet and invest in African solutions for African problems.

Lastly, we must acknowledge the mindset issue. Poverty can become a mentality, a belief that success belongs to other continents. But once young Africans realise that innovation, discipline, and unity are weapons stronger than poverty, everything changes. The future of Africa lies not just in our minerals, but in our mindset.

Africa is not poor! Africa has been made poor.
But the moment we take ownership, fight corruption, process our resources, and believe in ourselves, the world will finally witness the true power of this continent.

And that day is coming.

Chinese National Arrested At Zimbabwe’s RGM Airport For Groping Passenger On Emirates Flight From Dubai

Chinese National Arrested At Robert Gabriel Mugabe Airport For Groping Passenger On Emirates Flight From Dubai
A 52-year-old Chinese national has been arrested and taken into custody after he was accused of indecently assaulting a female passenger during an Emirates flight from Dubai. The arrest occurred at Zimbabwe’s Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, sending a clear message that such behaviour will not be tolerated on flights into Zimbabwe.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the alleged assault took place on 21 November 2025 aboard Emirates flight EK713. The authorities state that the events began at approximately 0900hrs Dubai time.

The complainant and the accused, Li Youbin, were seated next to each other, with the woman in the window seat. The court heard that Li attempted to start a conversation, but the woman declined to engage.

In-Flight Ordeal Leads To Screams
The situation escalated dramatically when the man’s advances were rejected. The National Prosecuting Authority reports that Li then proceeded to touch the woman’s thighs and buttocks without her consent. This violation caused the passenger to scream for help, immediately drawing the attention of fellow travellers and cabin crew.

Flight attendants on the Emirates service were quick to respond to the distress call. They ensured the complainant’s safety and comfort for the remainder of the journey, which concluded with the aircraft’s landing in Harare around 1700hrs local time.

Upon touchdown, the matter was swiftly reported to the Zimbabwe Republic Police officers stationed at the airport, leading to Li Youbin’s immediate arrest.

Prosecution Fights To Keep Accused Behind Bars
Following his arrest, the case has moved to the courts, where the state is taking a firm stance. Prosecutors have strongly opposed the granting of bail, presenting their arguments to the presiding magistrate. They contend that the accused poses a significant flight risk, a common concern in cases involving foreign nationals.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe stated, “Aircraft cabins are not law-free spaces. Any offender—local or foreign—will face the full force of the law.”

The authorities have indicated that their investigations into the matter are ongoing and are expected to be completed by 1 December 2025.

A Clear Message From Authorities
The swift action from the flight crew and the subsequent arrest by Zimbabwean police underscore a zero-tolerance approach to such offences.

The accused remains in custody as the legal process continues. The woman involved is receiving support, and the case has drawn significant attention to the issue of passenger safety on international flights.

CHINA’S CHEAP GAS HABIT IS QUIETLY BANKROLLING PUTIN – AND U.S. SANCTIONS ARE A JOKE

Washington has a new headache – and it’s arriving in tanker-sized shipments.

LNG – liquefied natural gas – is just natural gas chilled into a liquid so it can cross oceans. And Russia’s shipping plenty of it. More than plenty.

4 senators say China is buying those shipments at deep discounts, sending billions back to Moscow. They argue U.S. sanctions aren’t hitting hard enough, letting Russian gas money slip through and feed the war in Ukraine.

The administration sees it differently. Officials say Trump wants room for diplomacy while the U.S. and Ukraine shape a new peace framework.

Pressure, sure – but not enough to blow up the talks.

Meanwhile, the numbers don’t lie.

Around 14 cargoes since August. Discounts up to 40 percent. Billions moving. A project sanctioned back in 2023 still humming along.

The senators want answers. The State Department says it is “considering” more action. And the tankers keep moving.

The missiles get the headlines, but the gas tankers may be writing the next chapter.

TRUMP READY TO TALK WITH MADURO WHILE MISSILE STRIKES CONTINUE

Trump has told advisers he’s planning to speak directly with Nicolás Maduro, even as the U.S. designated the Venezuelan president as head of a foreign terrorist organization(Cartel de los Soles).

U.S. Official:

“Nobody is planning to go in and shoot him or snatch him, at this point.

I wouldn’t say never, but that’s not the plan right now.”

Operation Southern Spear has killed at least 83 people in 21 separate missile strikes on boats allegedly carrying drugs.

Officially it’s drug interdiction.

Unofficially, it’s regime change.

 SCIENTISTS WARN: THE NEXT WEAPON OF WAR COULD BE YOUR BRAIN

Forget drones, missiles, cyberattacks – the new battlefield may be the space between your ears.

UK researchers are sounding the alarm that breakthroughs in neuroscience could be twisted into mind-altering weapons capable of sedating, confusing, or even controlling people with terrifying precision.

Not sci-fi – a “wake-up call.”

The warning comes from a new analysis tracing how CNS-acting chemicals have been weaponized before – from Cold War delirium agents to Russia’s fentanyl-based assault during the 2002 Moscow theater siege that killed 120 hostages.

Now, as scientists map the neural circuits governing fear, aggression, and decision-making, the worry is simple:

The same tools used to treat brain disorders could be turned into tools to rewrite behavior.

There’s a loophole too – the Chemical Weapons Convention bans these weapons in war, but not necessarily in law enforcement, giving authoritarian states all the wiggle room they need.

The researchers want a “holistic arms control” crackdown – ethics training, treaty updates, human-rights oversight, the whole stack.

Because if we don’t act fast?

The next arms race won’t be nuclear. It’ll be neurological.

BARBRA BANDA – STILL TOP 10 EVEN WHILE INJURED!

BARBRA BANDA has not kicked a ball since 16 August 2025 due to injury…
but the numbers are unbelievable – she’s STILL among the league’s best.

Despite being out for over 3 months, Banda remains:

No.7 on the NWSL Top Scorers Chart
with 8 goals already. No minutes. No new games. Still top ten. Still elite.

The Most Dangerous Shooter in the League

Even while injured, Banda still leads the NWSL in shooting metrics:

4.4 shots per game (No.1 in the league)

2.2 shots on target per game (No.1 again)

Nobody has matched that level of danger since she stepped off the pitch.

Barbra Banda remains one of the most explosive attackers in the NWSL and the numbers haven’t moved her out of the top bracket.

Even injured, even sidelined… she is still dominating the charts.

When she returns, the league is not ready. Here we go.

EVERTON BEAT MAN UTD DESPITE GUEYE SEEING RED FOR SLAPPING TEAMMATE

EVERTON enjoyed their first Premier League win at Manchester United for 12 years despite playing virtually the entire game with 10 men after midfielder Idrissa Gueye was sent off for slapping his own teammate, Michael Keane.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s superb first-half goal on Monday sealed a 1-0 win for the visitors, who shrugged off the 13th-minute incident that had a furious Gueye dismissed after he and Keane squared up.

United came into the match at Old Trafford on the back of a five-game unbeaten run and could have moved up to fifth with a win.

They dominated possession, especially in the second half, but Everton defended superbly to repel the hosts, who looked blunt in attack.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made several fine saves to preserve his side’s lead, the pick of them to claw away a Joshua Zirkzee header with 10 minutes remaining.

A second away win of the season lifted Everton above city rivals and champions Liverpool into 11th place, level on 18 points with United, who are above them on goal difference.

Everton suffered a big blow in just the 10th minute when they lost captain Seamus Coleman to injury.

But worse was to follow three minutes later with the scarcely believable bust-up between Gueye and Keane.

The Premier League Match Centre posted on X: “The referee’s call of red card to Gueye for violent conduct was checked and confirmed by VAR with the action deemed to be a clear strike to the face of Keane.”

Gueye is the first Premier League player to be sent off for fighting with a teammate since 2008.

The home crowd anticipated waves of attack, but United failed to take advantage of their numerical advantage, proving toothless against David Moyes’s battling team.

Instead, it was 10-man Everton who found the net, taking the lead courtesy of a wonderful strike by Dewsbury-Hall in the 29th minute.

Dewsbury-Hall received the ball and surged towards goal, beating Bruno Fernandes and Leny Yoro before bending the ball into the top corner.

United huffed and puffed for the rest of the half, with Pickford clawing away a Fernandes shot from a distance as the half-time approached.

Ruben Amorim, marking the first anniversary of his maiden game in charge of United, brought on Mason Mount for Noussair Mazraoui at half-time, but his team created little, despite dominating possession.

Amorim threw on Kobbie Mainoo and Diogo Dalot for Casemiro and Yoro in the 58th minute, but still, United looked blunt.

Pickford kept out a powerful Zirkzee header with just over 10 minutes of normal time to go, and Everton hung on for a famous win.

Speaking after the game, Dewsbury-Hall said it was a “rollercoaster” of a game.

“I’m so genuinely happy for the lads and how hard they worked. A fantastic performance of gritting away, getting a goal and keeping that spirit,” he said. “So glad we got the three points.”

He said Gueye apologised to the team at full-time for the incident with Keane.

“We move on from it. The reaction from us was unbelievable. Top tier,” Dewsbury-Hall said.

“We could have crumbled, but if anything, it made us grow.”

United defender Matthijs de Ligt said the result and performance were a “step back” for his side after a decent run.

“I think the game says enough; against 10 men for 70 minutes and not creating that many chances,” the Dutch defender told Sky Sports. “Today was not a good night for us.

“We lacked the patience to play through the lines, and we crossed a lot of balls. We need to do a lot more.

“In all aspects today, it felt like a step back. Not just the result, but the intensity and the focus.”

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez to marry in his home island next summer

Superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, will reportedly marry in a Christian ceremony on his home island of Madeira next summer.

The celebrity couple will tie the knot after the 2026 World Cup in Funchal Cathedral, with their reception to be hosted at a swanky hotel, according to the Jornal da Madeira.

The pair revealed in August that they were engaged after more than nine years together.

Ronaldo, 40, recently opened up on his ‘not very romantic’ and improvised proposal, albeit complete with a £1.5million ring.

‘It was like 1am. My daughters were in bed sleeping,’ he told Piers Morgan.

‘One of my friends gave me the ring to offer Gio (Georgina) and as I was giving her the ring, my two kids come in and say “Daddy, you’re going to give the ring to mum and you’re going to ask her to get married.”

‘I said, “Wow, this is the right moment to say yes.” It was the time. I knew that I was going to do it one day but I hadn’t planned to do it then.

‘Because my daughters said that and my friends were filming, it was what I wanted and I offered (the ring). I didn’t (get on one knee) because I wasn’t prepared but it was a beautiful moment. I made a speech.

‘It was simple, I’m not a very romantic guy. Well, I am, but I’m not very romantic, not the kind of guy who brings flowers every week to the home.

But I’m romantic in my way. It was beautiful and I knew that it’s the woman of my life so I did that and I hope that I did it well.’

Ronaldo has five children. Two of them, Alana Martin and Bella Esmeralda, have been with Georgina. His eldest child, Cristiano Jr, was born in 2010 before he was with her, while he had two more kids, Eva and Mateo, via surrogacy in 2017.

The Portugal legend and the Argentine-Spanish model are thought to have got together in 2016 while he was at Real Madrid.

Vinicius Jr tells the club he won’t renew his contract amid strained tensions with head coach Xabi Alonso.

Real Madrid playmaker Vinicius Junior, has told the club that he does not want to renew his contract amid strained tensions with head coach Xabi Alonso.

The Brazilian, whose contract at the Bernabeu runs until the summer of 2027, reportedly communicated his position to club president Florentino Perez during a private conversation late last month.

Contract talks were opened in January but stalled after both sides failed to agree on financial terms and long-term conditions linked to his role under Alonso.

Things escalated during Madrid’s 2-1 Clasico victory over Barcelona on October 26, when Vinicius reacted angrily after being substituted in the 72nd minute. He stormed off the pitch, refused to acknowledge Alonso, and later apologised for his behaviour, before meeting Perez in the days that followed.

According to The Athletic, at that meeting, his future was discussed alongside his apology, and he made clear he did not believe extending was the right decision in the current circumstances.

That position had not changed in the weeks since, with the outlet claiming that sources close to the player maintain his doubts remain firmly rooted in the strained relationship with Alonso.

The tension between player and coach first intensified after Madrid’s 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semi-final on July 9.

Alonso had planned to bench him for that match before an injury to Trent Alexander-Arnold forced a change, with Vinicius instead deployed on the right wing.

Since then, he has only completed five of Madrid’s 17 matches in all competitions and has started on the bench in four league fixtures. He was also named among the substitutes during Sunday’s 2-2 draw away at Elche.

Italian family who stole £200k worth of goods from Alexander Isak  ordered to pay back just £1  to him

Members of an Italian family who burgled nearly £200,000 worth of goods from Liverpool striker Alexander Isak and over £1million worth from other people have reportedly been ordered to pay back just £1 each.

Valentino and Giacomo Nikolov, sister Jela Jovanovic, and her son Charlie Jovanovic broke into Isak’s Northumberland mansion in April 2024.

There, they grabbed £10,000 in cash, jewellery worth £68,000, and his Audi RS6 valued at £120,000.

The quad of burglars were put behind bars in May this year, each sentenced for between six and 10 years.

The Nikolov brothers and their sister have been ordered to repay just £1 each, while Charlie Jovanovic must return £1,135, after a proceeds of crime hearing at Newcastle Crown Court, according to the BBC.

The fee of £1 has been ordered because they have no money or assets. Jovanovic was the only one of the four who the court found could pay back more.

Judge Robert Spragg added that were they to be found with assets in the future, prosecutors could attempt to ‘satisfy the amount outstanding’ by opening new proceedings.

Police confirmed at the time of the burglary that a vehicle was stolen from Isak’s property in Darras Hall, a 20-minute drive to Newcastle, before being found abandoned in nearby Dissington.

They also raided two other homes on different nights. The gang had arrived in the UK, via ferry from Calais to Dover in a Citroen C3 and a Ford motorhome, in March.

WHY MUSLIM-MAJORITY NATIONS MOVED ON THE BROTHERHOOD YEARS AGO AND AMERICA DIDN’T

 WHY MUSLIM-MAJORITY NATIONS MOVED ON THE BROTHERHOOD YEARS AGO AND AMERICA DIDN’T

Trump just started the process to designate specific Muslim Brotherhood chapters as terrorist organizations.

Not the whole organization blanket-style, but targeted chapters in places like Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan.

Why?

Because the Brotherhood’s network has been fueling terrorism and destabilization campaigns against American interests for decades, and everybody knew it.

Let’s be real about what the Brotherhood actually is.

This isn’t some random religious group.

They literally spawned Hamas, the organization behind October 7th.

The ISGAP report shows Brotherhood affiliates have been playing the long game in America: getting into government agencies, advising on civil rights policy, shaping what gets taught in schools.

Qatar pumped billions through their networks while everyone looked the other way.

Trump’s reasoning is straightforward: you can’t fight terrorism while pretending its ideological infrastructure doesn’t exist.

The White House specifically cited the Jordan chapter’s connections to Hamas.

Egypt banned them in 2013 after they tried taking over the country.

Saudi Arabia, UAE, they all recognized the threat years ago. Muslim-majority nations acted while American politicians collected donations from Brotherhood front groups.

Texas already moved on this.

Governor Abbott designated both the Brotherhood and CAIR as terrorist organizations last week.

Now Trump’s federal designation unlocks real tools: freezing assets, intelligence collection, prosecuting anyone providing material support.

The forty-five day review period lets Rubio and Bessent recommend specific chapters based on evidence, not speculation.

The real question isn’t why Trump’s doing this now.

It’s why every previous administration watched the Brotherhood build networks, fund extremism, and infiltrate institutions while doing absolutely nothing.

Sometimes the biggest threats are the ones everyone agrees to ignore.

Miles Sampa has exposed the Catholic Church to be driving the PF agenda

Miles Sampa has simply exposed the Catholic Church to be driving the PF agenda.

Thank you Miles continue feeding us with more information, that’s the reason we planted you there.

Prophet Seer1 writes:

“I have so much respect for the Catholic Church, anything that has to do with the Catholic or their Bishops, I approach it with the highest level of respect.

But looking at this screenshot, you can tell that the planned protest is a PF project driven by a few Catholic bishops.

I am so disappointed.

This screenshot was posted by Miles Sampa. You can clearly see that the protest is all about the PF and the legacy of Sata not the people.”- Prophet Seer1

WE ARE READY TO DIE IN A PEACEFUL PROTEST AGAINST BILL 7 AND POOR GOVERNANCE SAYS FR MWEWA

Fr Augustine Mwewa, in his unflinching sermon, said that genuine lovers of truth must participate in the Oasis Forum protest against an unconstitutional Bill 7 and poor governance on November 28th, 2025, regardless of insult or intimidation.

His sermon calling people to join the principled protest serves as a powerful articulation of the moral responsibility incumbent upon citizens in a democratic society. This stance is not merely an expression of political dissent; it is a deeply rooted ethical conviction that compels individuals, particularly those representing faith institutions, to speak out when the foundations of justice and good governance erode.

Fr Mwewa’s justification for this necessary action says stems from a catalogue of systemic failures, including the erosion of democracy, the rise of divisive tribalism, escalating violence, economic mismanagement evidenced by delayed farmer payments, and the crushing burden of the high cost of living.

According to Fr Mwewa, for the Church, as a custodian of moral principles, to remain silent in the face of such widespread societal maladies would constitute a profound dereliction of its duty.

The core of Fr Mwewa’s appeal lies in the principle that truth must supersede personal safety or comfort. He draws a direct parallel between the anticipated suffering of protestors and the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ and his disciples, who faced persecution for proclaiming inconvenient truths. This linkage elevates the protest from a political event to a moral crusade.

When the rule of law is threatened, as implied by the description of Bill 7 as unconstitutional, the mechanisms intended to protect the populace become instruments of oppression. In such scenarios, Fr Mwewa says peaceful public demonstration becomes a critical, often final, avenue for citizens to reclaim agency and assert constitutional fidelity.

He ended his sermon saying that the willingness to face martyrdom confirms that for those who love the truth, the preservation of constitutional integrity and the welfare of the people supersede personal safety, positioning the Oasis Forum protest as a necessary act of national redemption despite threats.
