To all our beloved children, esteemed guests, and friends of the Lunda Kingdom,

As we prepare to gather for the sacred and joyous occasion of the Mutomboko Ceremony, I, Mwata Kazembe, extend my warmest invitation to each and every one of you. This is a time of unity, cultural pride, and celebration—a moment when we come together as one people under the banner of our shared heritage.

It is my deepest desire that all who attend do so as equals, standing before me not as divided factions, but as my children, united in the spirit of tradition and mutual respect. To honor this principle, I hereby declare that no political party regalia or attire bearing divisive symbols shall be permitted during the festivities. The Mutomboko Ceremony is a time to set aside partisan differences and celebrate the richness of our culture as one family.

Instead, I encourage all attendees—whether from the Lunda Kingdom, neighboring chiefdoms, or beyond—to adorn themselves in their finest traditional attire. Whether you wear the regalia of the Lunda people, the vibrant garments of other Zambian cultures, or the dignified dress of traditions from across our continent, you are welcome. Let us showcase the beauty of our diverse heritage while standing together in unity

The Mutomboko Ceremony is a sacred tradition passed down through generations, and it is my duty as your Mwata to preserve its sanctity while ensuring all feel included in its celebration. Let us honor our ancestors, our customs, and each other with dignity and pride.

I look forward to receiving you all with open arms as we celebrate this momentous occasion together.

HH ORDERS REVIEW OF PROPERTY RATES

HH ORDERS REVIEW OF PROPERTY RATES

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has directed the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to review property rates nationwide to ensure they are fair and more affordable.

President HICHILEMA has expressed concern over the current pricing structure, noting that property rates are excessively high, often resulting in defaults by property owners.

He says that once the rates are revised and made more reasonable, local councils must enhance their efficiency in revenue collection to strengthen operations and improve service delivery.

The President has also urged local authorities to make land available to investors to facilitate development.

He has described as unfortunate the delays caused by land tenure systems, which are hindering growth in some jurisdictions.

President HICHILEMA was speaking in Lusaka yesterday during the 69th Joint Local Government Association of Zambia –LGAZ- Annual Conference and the 22nd Alliance of Mayors’ Initiative for Community Action on AIDS at the Local Level –AMICAALL- General Assembly.

Dr. Chintu says an update will be given by relevant authorities once investigations into the matter are concluded.

WHO IS THIS BOSS MENTIONED IN THE LEAKED CHABINGA AUDIO – CATHOLIC PRIEST ASKS

… says the leaked audio has the potential to strain diplomatic ties with the South African government

LAVUSHIMANDA, WEDNESDAY, JULY, 23, 2025 [SMART EAGLES ]

Catholic priest Fr. Martin Mwango says the leaked audio involving expelled Mafinga member of parliament Robert Chabinga and Community Development Minister Doreen Mwamba where the two were discussing a plot to bribe the South African judges is damaging and has the potential to strain diplomatic ties with the South African government.

Speaking in an interview in Lavushimanda after meeting Citizens First President Harry Kalaba at Our Lady of Fatima parish in today, Fr. Mwango asked  Government to name the ‘boss’ mentioned in the leaked audio.

He said the said ‘boss’ seems to be the masterminder in the plot to bribe the South African judges in the case involving late former President Edgar Lungu’s family and the Zambian government.

“The ‘boss’ seems to be the masterminder in this all thing, he has been appearing in most leaked audios, the case in point is the Jay Jay, Akafumba and now the Chabinga audio. This boss seems to be problematic. Who is this boss? Let him be known. We cant sort out our problems in Zambia without knowing who this ‘boss’ is, ” Fr. Mwango said.

“Our diplomatic relationship with the the South African Government has been tainted and the South African Government will never trust us again. It is sad sad that the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa who is fighting corruption in his own ways is being attacked by a fellow member of SADC. I urge the SADC to add their voice to this because already our diplomatic relationship with some of our neighbors has been damaged,” he said.

And Fr. Mwango has asked the SADC region to intervene in the matter involving the burial of late former President Edgar Lungu adding that their silence is defeaning.

RESPONSE TO ALLEGATIONS THAT THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE COMMISSION WAS
EXERCISING HER POWERS BEYOND THE BOUNDS OF THE LAW IN RELATION TO THE ISSUE OF CAMPAIGN REGALIA.

RESPONSE TO ALLEGATIONS THAT THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE COMMISSION WAS
EXERCISING HER POWERS BEYOND THE BOUNDS OF THE LAW IN RELATION TO THE ISSUE OF CAMPAIGN REGALIA.

The Commission has noted with concern the news article in The Mast Newspaper dated Tuesday, 22nd July 2025, attributed to former Kasenengwa Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament Sensio Banda, calling for the resignation of the Electoral Commission of Zambia Chairperson Mrs. Mwangala Zaloumis SC. Further, Mr. Banda alleges that the Chairperson of the Commission was exercising her powers beyond the bounds of the law in relation to the issue of campaign regalia.

Contrary to this assertion, the Commission in Article 229 is mandated to “implement the electoral process” and “regulate the conduct of candidates”. Therefore, the law is very clear in Sections 2, 29 (3), (4) and 89 (1) (n) of the Electoral Process Act No. 35 of 2016 as indicated in the guidance from the Commission. For avoidance of any doubt, the law states as follows:

– Section 2 of the Act defines “campaign material” to mean party or candidate manifestos, advertisements, billboards, posters, t-shirts, cloth or other material depicting colours regarding symbols, and other designs of a party or pictorial images of a candidate.”

– Section 29 (3) of the Electoral Process Act states that, “A candidate or political party may, during an electoral campaign, publish or distribute campaign materials of such a nature and in such a manner as may be prescribed by the Commission.”

– Further subsection 4 sums it up by providing that; “For the purposes of this section “campaign messages” means an activity, statement or any other form of expression aimed at promoting particular political ideas, policies and strategies for purposes of obtaining votes for a candidate or political party contesting an election.”
– Section 89 (1) (n) provides as follows: “A person shall not – being a candidate use a symbol in the course of an election other than the symbol registered with the Chief Electoral Officer in accordance with this Act and any regulations thereunder or, in the case of any other person, associate any candidate with any symbol in the course of an election other than the candidate’s registered symbol.”

It goes without saying that providing guidance on how an election ought to be conducted is within the mandate of the Commission, and cannot be said to be powers beyond the bounds of the law.

In addition, the narrative that the Commission has banned the use of political regalia altogether, even in areas not having elections is not correct and is intended to misinform the public. The Commission is simply enforcing already existing laws as indicated above in relation to campaigns by candidates or political parties contesting an election.

Further, as stated in the guidance issued by the Chairperson of the Commission on 17th July, 2025, this is not the first time the Commission has guided political parties and/or candidates ahead of an election campaign. In 2021, the Commission guided independent candidates not to use campaign regalia of other contesting political parties and their candidates because it would only confuse voters, thereby promoting disorder in the electoral process.

Therefore, the allegations levelled against the Chairperson on this issue are baseless, misguided and unfounded.

POLICE TO SUMMON HONOURABLE ROBERT CHIBINGA FOR ALLEGEDLY PROPOSING VIOLENCE

POLICE TO SUMMON HONOURABLE ROBERT CHIBINGA FOR ALLEGEDLY PROPOSING VIOLENCE

July 23, 2025-The Zambia Police Service at Lusaka Central Police Station has opened an inquiry file following a report made yesterday July 22, 2025 at 14:00 hours by Honourable. Francis Mulenga Fube, aged 50, of Plot Number 21330 Chamba Valley, Lusaka. He is also a Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament for Chilubi Constituency.

Honourable. Fube reported that Honourable. Robert Chabinga, also a PF Member of Parliament representing Mafinga Constituency, did propose violence by allegedly issuing threats aimed at Ambassador Emmanuel Mwamba and former University of Zambia Lecturer Dr. Sishuwa Sishuwa. These threats were reportedly made during a press briefing conducted via an online live broadcast on Kalemba media platform on July 20, 2025 around 10:00 hours.

According to the report, Hon. Chabinga was seen and heard during the live broadcast allegedly threatening to “deal with” Mr. Emmanuel Mwamba and Dr. Sishuwa Sishuwa, accusing them of circulating damaging articles about him. This conduct prompted Honourable. Fube to report the matter to the police.

In light of this, the Zambia Police Service wishes to inform the public that Hon. Robert Chabinga will be summoned to assist with investigations as part of the ongoing inquiry. We urge all involved parties to remain calm and allow the due process of the law to take its course.

The Zambia Police Service reiterates its commitment to upholding public order and ensuring that political discourse remains peaceful, respectful, and within the confines of the law.

Further updates will be provided as investigations progress.

THE UPND GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED FARMERS – KALABA

THE UPND GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED FARMERS – KALABA

… says it is sad that farmers are spending weeks sleeping in the cold trying to sale their maize at FRA depots.

MPIKA, WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 2025 [SMART EAGLES]

Citizens First President Harry Kalaba says it is sad that farmers in Mpika are spending more than two weeks sleeping in the cold at the Food Reserve Agency – FRA  depots trying to sell their maize.

Speaking when he featured on Yusufu Catholic Radio in Mpika this evening, Mr. Kalaba said this is a sign of failure on the part of the UPND Government.

Mr. Kalaba said Government should quickly address this issue by allowing the FRA to start working in shifts so that farmers are attended to on time.

“Why should farmers be spending more than two weeks sleeping in the cold at the Food Reserve Agency depots trying to sale their maize produce. FISP was chaotic and now farmers are having challenges selling their maize. The only solution to this is for FRA workers to start working 24hrs in shifts so that they attend to the farmers, and if Government paid attention to farming, many Zambians will get involved in farming, ” Mr. Kalaba said.

And Mr. Kalaba said CF in Government will recapitalize the Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia NCZ and stop importing fertilizer from Ukraine.

He said this move will ensure that Zambian farmers have access to cheap fertilizer.

” God has given us everything except good leadership. The UPND Government has failed farmers and when Citizens First forms Government next we will recapitalize the Nitrogen Chemical of Zambia and stop importing fertilizer from Ukraine, this will ensure that Zambian farmers have access to cheaper fertilizer,” Mr. Kalaba said.

MISAPPLICATION OF LAW AND CONSTITUTIONAL OVERSIGHT: A RESPECTFUL REBUTTAL TO ECZ’S REGALIA RESPONSE

MISAPPLICATION OF LAW AND CONSTITUTIONAL OVERSIGHT: A RESPECTFUL REBUTTAL TO ECZ’S REGALIA RESPONSE

The recent response from the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to my earlier critique regrettably fails to address the legal and constitutional concerns I raised regarding the pronouncement banning allied party regalia in by-elections. While I welcome clarification and institutional engagement, the Commission’s statement reflects a selective reading of the law and falls short of justifying its actions within the framework of Zambia’s constitutional democracy.

The Commission hinges its justification on Sections 2, 29(3)–(4), and 89(1)(n) of the Electoral Process Act No. 35 of 2016. However, none of these provisions substantively support the ban on wearing regalia by allied but non-participating political parties. Section 2 merely defines “campaign material,” including T-shirts and cloth  and  political party symbols among others. Section 29(3) permits the publication and distribution of such material as “may be prescribed,” but it does not in itself prescribe any prohibition. Critically, there is no corresponding Statutory Instrument or Regulation issued to formalize the ban, making the Commission’s directive legally unenforceable.

Furthermore, Section 89(1)(n) prohibits the use or association with symbols of a candidate other than their registered symbol during the course of an election, and it specifically applies to candidates and their symbols. It does not extend to the general public or to allied parties that are not contesting the election. Moreover, it does not prohibit items such as T-shirts and cloth, which, according to the definition of campaign materials in Section 2 of the Act, are distinct forms of expression. The Electoral Commission of Zambia’s (ECZ) conflation of party symbols with all forms of campaign materials—such as regalia like T-shirts and cloth—constitutes a misinterpretation and, ultimately, a misapplication of the law.

More seriously, the Commission’s reference to a potential prison sentence of up to two years lacks a clear legal basis, apart from Regulation 10(3) of the Electoral Code of Conduct, which limits penalties to a maximum of one year for violations of its provisions. Misstating the legal penalty in this manner amounts to a clear misrepresentation of the law and undermines both public confidence and the credibility of the ECZ’s communications.

On constitutional grounds, the ECZ’s attempt to justify the directive by citing limitations under public order or safety cannot override Article 21 of the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of association and political expression. These rights cannot be curtailed by subsidiary legislation or administrative directives, certainly not without compelling justification and due legislative process. To suggest otherwise is to subordinate the Constitution to an inferior law, which defies both logic and legal hierarchy.

Moreover, the ECZ Chairperson does not have the authority to interpret constitutional provisions in a manner that justifies circumventing fundamental rights. That role is reserved for the Judiciary. Her attempt to construe constitutional limitations to support the directive borders on overreach and violates the principle of separation of powers.

The Commission’s reference to past practice (such as its 2021 advisory to independent candidates) does not establish legal precedent. What is at stake here is not just electoral order but the rule of law, constitutional supremacy, and institutional credibility. Dismissing legitimate legal arguments as “baseless” or “misguided” is unfortunate and evades the duty of accountability that public institutions owe to the citizens they serve.

Therefore, because the commission has not addressed the relevant legal concerns I presented, I continue to assert that the Chairperson should resign due to moral imperatives.

While the ECZ’s responsibility to ensure orderly elections is understood, this cannot come at the cost of legality and constitutional rights. Zambia’s democracy must be protected not just at the ballot box, but in every action and pronouncement of the institutions tasked with safeguarding it.

I urge the ECZ to reconsider its position, clarify its legal basis through proper instruments, and engage in dialogue rather than dismissiveness. Upholding the rule of law is not optional, it is the cornerstone of our Republic.

DISTORTED NATIONAL MORAL COMPASS WORRIES FORMER RELIGIOUS AND NATIONAL GUIDANCE MINISTER

DISTORTED NATIONAL MORAL COMPASS WORRIES FORMER RELIGIOUS AND NATIONAL GUIDANCE MINISTER

… As she calls on President Hakainde Hichilema to guide the nation in righteousness …

Smart Eagles/ Wed, July 23, 2025

Former National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister, the Hon. Rev. Mrs Godfridah Sumaili has decried the moral decay that has taken root in the nation with the outbreak of Pornographic materials doing rounds on social media platforms.

Hon.  Godfridah Sumaili served as National Guidance Minister from 2016 up to 2021 under the Presidency of Late former Head of State Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, a ministry that was abolished after the United Party for National Development UPND, took over the reigns of power.

Many on social media  have  started calling for the reintroduction of the National Guidance Ministry to try and mitigate the immorality that is slowly eating away at the fabric of the nation.

Hon. Sumaili said the nation has been traumatised by the avalanche of Pornographic videos and asked how the nation got to such a sorry  state morally.

“Pornography, social immorality of all sorts, insults , corruption and all manner of wickedness and injustice has taken firm root in the nation and become the order of the day.  Just what does the future hold for our Christian nation and our children . The environment is not only toxic to an individuals soul but closes the heavens and manifests destruction and brings untold destruction on the people,” She said .

“The nation has been invaded by darkness, and the nation is witnessing unprecedented wicked happenings . For instance, Free Masons and  LGBTQ are free to operate in the nation. Something needs to be done to stop this wickedness,” She bemoaned.

She has since made 5 suggestions that can possibly help to bring the nation back to normalcy

1. President Hichilema, being the Head of State together with his cabinet, publicly denounce Free Masonry,  LGBTQ and Pornography.  The government has a responsibility to guide the nation in righteousness.

2. That the law on such matters be stiffened and enforced justly without favour.

3. That family values be enforced with each family going back to seek the face of God and to uncalculate cultural values in the children.  Children need to be taught to flee from sexual immorality

4. Schools and colleges and universities have programs in the curriculum to deal with such matters

5. Finally, the church, the civil society, rolls out programs that teach the youth on matters of morality.  Chiefs and the community come up with programs that teach children how to live in the way that pleases the Lord .

THIS IS GRAND CORRUPTION…it’s not the stealing of petty cash; it is the stealing of the entire economy claims Dr. M’membe

THIS IS GRAND CORRUPTION

…it’s not the stealing of petty cash; it is the stealing of the entire economy claims Dr. M’membe

Lusaka… Wednesday July 23, 2025 – Socialist Party (SP) President Dr. Fred M’membe says there is grand corruption under the UPND administration.

Dr. M’membe says it is not the stealing of petty cash but that it is the stealing of the entire economy.

He said this is the most corrupt regime in the history of this country.

He claimed that this regime is more corrupt than the colonial government, and more corrupt than all administrations that this country has had.

He stated that President Hakainde Hichilema and his cabinet cannot even admit when they have failed to keep their promises, promises that are clearly documented.

He said this when he and his General Secretary Dr. Cosmas Musumali featured on ‘Socialist Hour’ on Hot FM Radio in Lusaka today.

“This is the most corrupt regime of our history. More corrupt than the colonial government, it’s more corrupt than all administrations that this country has had. This is grand corruption and not small corruption. It’s not the stealing of petty cash, it’s the stealing of the entire economy,” he said.

“It is important to highlight the critical and ongoing concern of the continued rise in corruption under the leadership of Mr Hakainde Hichilema. What we are witnessing is a troubling escalation of corruption at levels never seen before in the history of our country. We expect that this will be thoroughly exposed in the latest FIC report which many anticipate will paint a damaging picture of current administration’s failure to uphold transparency and integrity.”

Dr. M’membe further said what is more troubling is the failure by the UPND to find a lasting solution to the corruption going on in the country.

“It is also worth noting that it is not only more national budget left under the Minister of Finance, it is also evident that this government lacks a coherent and sustainable strategy to combat corruption or provide a long term solutions to key issues in all the sectors such as mining, agriculture, health and a broader economy affecting our people,” he added.

“The evidence of the failure of this government is found in the numerous and unfulfilled, broken or abandoned promises by Mr Hichilema during the time he was seeking Zambian’s votes. His promises were founded or provided a foundation on which Zambians voted for Mr Hichilema and entrusted this government with power.”

And Dr. Musumali said it is important that the UPND accepts that they have failed to deliver according to their promises.

Dr. Musumali said the UPND administration should communicate with the masses that they have failed.

“When a political party is vying for power and you go to the people of Zambia and actually make that promise, it’s actually a social contract. You are telling Zambians we are ready to serve you, we are signing a social contract, we are going to run a government that will provide certain services. This is how we will serve you, this is how much of your money we are going to use and entrust us. The people in turn will trust you,” he stated.

GIVE HH A BREAK PLEASE

Am really trying to avoid politics at the moment but Tayali has compelled me to comment on his Video were he has called out the President. Personally I am not a heartless person and i believe that Vengeance must be left to God but awe sure some times we go over board in abusing others.

The fact that you can apologize does not justify why you should verbally abuse others, those of you who remember how many times Tayali abused HH and got away with it can agree with me. It took the man to confront him at Mulungushi during an event which was organized by ECZ for political parties.

In his quest for Freedom Tayali has been disrespecting the former First Lady calling her all sorts of names not even sympathizing with her current situation, will you call her names if at any point she refused to forgive Tayali owing to what he has been saying about her and her family? this is one man that has devoted his life to assassinate other people’s characters simply because he can say Sorry and go Scot free!!

Even Makebi Zulu who rushed out to his rescue every time he was in trouble with the law became ka Makebi, life has choices and certainly our brother made one and let him enjoy the music that comes with the choice he made.

No body sent Mr Tayali to disrespect Senior Chief Mukuni no body sent him to disrespect President HH, he made those decisions on his own and he shouldn’t hold the President or anyone at ransom over choices he made at will. I always tell people  on social media that Limits are important in whatever we post.

Even HH and Mama ester Lungu are human, they have feelings as well and they also have breaking points where insults can hurt hence even as we politic we should learn to draw a line. You can’t build a life and a career on tormenting others emotionally. No!!!!

If not forgiving Tayali makes HH a devil, so be it on this one I will stand with HH.. a lesson must be learnt..

FISP FARMERS FACE BAN; “Supply Maize to FRA or Lose FISP acess” – MTOLO

FISP FARMERS FACE BAN; “Supply Maize to FRA or Lose FISP acess” – MTOLO

Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO has warned that farmers who fail to supply a minimum of ten 50-kilogramme bags of maize to the Food Reserve Agency –FRA- risk being removed from the Farmer Input Support Programme –FISP- for the 2025–2026 farming season.

Mr. MTOLO says that participation in the FRA’s crop-buying programme has become a key requirement for farmers wishing to remain beneficiaries of FISP.

He says that the measure is part of Government’s broader effort to strengthen the National Strategic Food Reserve, which plays a critical role in ensuring food security, stabilising prices, and enabling effective emergency responses.

Delivering a ministerial statement in the National Assembly today, Mr. MTOLO said the FRA has already begun purchasing maize for the 2025 crop marketing season across all ten provinces.

He reiterated that the acceptable moisture content for maize remains at a maximum of 12.5%, warning that maize exceeding this limit risks spoilage and reduced shelf life, which could undermine the integrity of the national reserves.

MFUWE CONSTITUENTS LAUD UPND ADMINISTRATION’S TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP

MFUWE CONSTITUENTS LAUD UPND ADMINISTRATION’S TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP.

Lavushimanda, July 24, 2025 — The United Party for National Development (UPND) has restated its unwavering dedication to enlightening citizens on various government development initiatives, urging communities to align with the party’s forward-looking vision.

Speaking at a vibrant rally in Lavushimanda ahead of the August 7 parliamentary by-election, Chingola Central Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga acknowledged that the party previously struggled to establish its presence in Mfuwe due to persistent political hostility.

Mulenga praised President Hakainde Hichilema’s comprehensive development blueprint, which he described as a life-changing agenda designed to uplift citizens across Zambia, irrespective of their tribe or region.

He pointed out that outdated schools and health centers are now being modernized, courtesy of increased Constituency Development Funds (CDF) under the UPND government.

The lawmaker emphasized that no child has paid school fees since the UPND took office, marking a new era of free education for all.

He also addressed falsehoods peddled by some politicians during the 2021 elections, which claimed that a Hichilema presidency would bring division, a notion now disproved by the government’s commitment to unity and equity.

Mulenga cited the expanded Social Cash Transfer, Cash for Work program, and timely distribution of farming inputs as examples of the administration’s inclusive development efforts that leave no one behind.

He passionately encouraged residents to support the UPND’s parliamentary candidate, Malama Mfunelo, in the upcoming by-election, assuring them that the party remains steadfast in its mission to deliver development for all.

“TAKE A FRONT SEAT NOW.,AND DEFEND  UPND”

A passing glance !
————————————-
“TAKE A FRONT SEAT NOW.,AND DEFEND THE PARTY”

Indeed the devil works in many ways!

Loyal party members and old time political commanders who spearheaded the front line and most particularly
those in the regions which were strongholds for the PF,
for sure , ..you have experienced a bitter episode of betrayal , coupled with mental slavery and anguish, brought about by some ungrateful leaders and appointees.

These are the leaders who publicly promised to the president, sworn to defend and deliver in line with our party Upnd expectations .

But unfortunately, they have just spent the whole of their time growing their own ambitions to become  members of parliament, ministers, or any other higher than they are.

These leaders don’t appreciate, and have no remorse to the party Upnd.

They are not grateful to our President and party Upnd.

If we look closely, most of these appointees do not even deserve the positions they hold but because our party and president is so generous, it happens so.

They have been very loyal to the party Upnd before 2021, but suddenly, they took off the Sheep’s skin,… little did we know they are a Ghosts just ambushing for public resources and selfish opportunities.

Immediately after the appointments, they became inattentive, dismissive, oblivious, stubborn, and unyielding!

They are an embarrassment to the party and our hard working president Hakainde Hichilema.

Now let me remind these heedless and ‘ know it all’ leaders most of whom are appointees today, with an exception of a few,
“Take a front seat  Now!”… and defend the Party.

You are not ” white collar technocrats”.

Your staying quiet when our party is being attacked on all communication platforms, is neither helping you nor the party.

Lusaka man to pay ex-wife for starving her of his reproducing instrument

Lusaka man to pay ex-wife for starving her of his reproducing instrument

WHILE some women may be exploring the limits of their carnal desires, bound and tied up to wardrobes as their partners drill their tunnel of pleasure as if it is an attempt to reach the heart, a Lusaka wife’s bedroom stadium has not been played on for a long while.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CVKBQ9Wkm/?mibextid=oFDknk

The very thought of the most basic of romantic gestures, a simple caress or stolen kisses is a distant memory for 29-year-old Romance Chinyanta, as her husband, Martin Katumbi, 34 constantly leaves her blue ticked, starving her of her wifely rights.

This prolonged sexual isolation has left Chinyanta questioning whether Katumbi still views her as a woman.

Therefore, to escape the mental torture and forced fasting, she took brought the matter before Senior Magistrate Lewis Mumba at the Matero Local Court, where Chinyanta sought to dissolve her marriage.

Despite being married for three years and having two children, Chinyanta told the court that the last one year-six-months have been unbearable, a complete package of emotional and physical isolation.

She revealed that in the same period, her husband had been sleeping on the floor and sometimes in the living room.

“When I asked him why he sleeps down, my husband informed me that he no longer has feelings for me, leaving me to face the harsh truth that our marriage has been reduced to a mere arrangement without love or warmth,” Chinyanta shared.

She added that Katumbi once resorted to rectifying his diminishing sexual interests for her through the use of a common bedroom gymnastics enhancers.

However, his weapon of mass reproduction could stand like Mulyokela on the presidential ballot.

She also disclosed that whenever she would approach her husband, seeking to engage in extracurricular activities, he would lash out at her, often resorting to physical abuse to deter her advances.

“I have been deprived of affection and intimacy for far too long, and it is slowly destroying me from within,” she stated.

“My plea for divorce is an attempt to salvage what little self-esteem and sense of self remain after enduring such prolonged isolation and neglect.”

As Katumbi rose to deliver his side of the story, he coldly agreed to divorce Chinyanta without any attempt to address the issues raised by his wife.

“I have nothing to say on this matter, our marriage has been plagued by misunderstandings and the best course of action is to end it once and for all. Let us both move on with our lives. I seriously don’t want to be with her,” stated Katumbi.

Magistrate Mumba granted the divorce, noting Katumbi’s acceptance of allegations and demeanor indicated he had moved on.

The magistrate stressed that a marriage without intimacy for a long time is only standing by the name of the union emphasising that forcing such a union only prolongs suffering.

He ordered for equal division of household goods and K1,000 monthly for child maintenance, effective July month-end.

While no general compensation was ordered due to the marriage’s short duration, Katumbi was to pay Chinyanta K6,000 in monthly installments for a year, due to the distress she suffered during their one year and six months together.

“Katumbi is ordered to pay her K500 per month for the next 12 months as maintenance for the distress inflicted on his wife. This is for the torture yogona kawilo,” ruled magistrate Mumba…https://kalemba.news/court/lusaka-man-to-pay-ex-wife-for-starving-her-of-his-reproducing-instrument/

HAMAS RESPONDS TO GAZA TRUCE PROPOSAL WITH AMENDMENT TO AID AND ISRAEL WITHDRAW

By CIC International Affairs.

HAMAS RESPONDS TO GAZA TRUCE PROPOSAL WITH AMENDMENT TO AID AND ISRAEL WITHDRAW.

The Palestinian group Hamas submitted on Wednesday its response to an Israeli proposal for a 60-day truce in Gaza.

The response includes proposed amendments to maps of areas from which the Israeli military should withdraw and guarantees on securing a permanent end to the war, one source familiar with the matter and another Hamas source told reporters with links to CIC International Affairs Middle East Desk.

It also proposes amendments regarding the entry of aid Hamas has reportedly asked that only UN agencies handle aid entry and distribution while the US and Israel backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) is excluded.

GHF aid distribution has been marred by scenes of chaos and bloodshed since it began operations in Gaza in late May, with over 1,000 Palestinians shot dead by Israeli forces as they waited to receive aid.

The US and Israel-backed scheme bypasses the UN and has been slammed by the United Nations and humanitarian officials as a “death trap.”

Hamas has reportedly proposed including a clause in any ceasefire agreement that would require the immediate reopening of the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt in both directions once the ceasefire takes effect.

Hundreds of tons of aid are stuck at the Egyptian side of the border in Rafah due to Israel’s blockade. Over 100 Palestinians in Gaza most of them children have starved to death , according to Gaza’s health ministry.

The sources revealed that American mediators emphasized their commitment to ensuring that negotiations will continue beyond the 60-day period, even if a final agreement is not reached.

“The ball is now in the Israeli side’s court, as the mediators await its response on the aid clause and redeployment maps,” the sources said.
The Egyptian source noted that if the response is positive, it would mean a framework agreement has been reached and the truce would go into effect.

Regarding concerns on Israel displacing Palestinians from Gaza, a Hamas leader explained that there are guarantees that the enclave will not be emptied of its inhabitants.

He emphasized that the opening of the Rafah crossing would allow for the freedom of movement to prevent the coastal enclave from being transformed into a large prison, and to allow those stranded in Egypt to return to Gaza and reunite with their families.

The United States said its special envoy Steve Witkoff would head to Europe this week for talks on Gaza and might visit the Middle East afterwards.
Witkoff was departing with the “strong hope that we will come forward with another ceasefire as well as a humanitarian corridor for aid to flow, that both sides have in fact agreed to,” US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce told reporters on Tuesday.

Negotiators from Israel and Hamas have been holding indirect talks in Doha with mediators in an attempt to reach an agreement on a truce deal that would see the release of 10 Israeli captives in exchange for an as yet undetermined number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israel.

But the talks have dragged on for more than two weeks without a breakthrough, with each side blaming the other for refusing to budge on their key demands.

For Israel, dismantling Hamas’ military and governing capabilities is non-negotiable, while Hamas demands firm guarantees on a lasting truce, a full withdrawal of Israeli troops and the free flow of aid into Gaza.

More than 59,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the war started on 7 October 2023, most of them civilians, says the territory’s health ministry. Thousands more are believed to be buried beneath the rubble.

45-Year-Old Venus Williams Just Made History as the Oldest Woman to Win a Singles Match

Venus Williams made history at 45 years old by winning a singles match at the DC Open, becoming the oldest woman since Martina Navratilova to do so. She beat Peyton Stearns in straight sets, marking her first singles win in nearly two years.

Williams, once the world No. 1, returned to singles competition after surgery earlier this year. According to 11Alive, she hadn’t played a singles match since March 2024 and was listed as inactive by the WTA until this week. Despite the long break, Venus showed flashes of her classic power, hitting strong serves and solid groundstrokes.

The crowd at the DC Open cheered loudly as Williams stepped onto the court. Early in the match, she broke Stearns’ serve with sharp returns and showed impressive court coverage. Although she had some shaky moments, including a rough start where she lost her serve, Venus steadily took control and won 6-3, 6-4.

Closing the match took a few tries as Williams missed several match points. But finally, she landed a 112 mph ace that sealed the victory. Afterward, she smiled and celebrated with her signature post-win spin and wave.

Next, Venus will face Magdalena Frech, the tournament’s No. 5 seed. Meanwhile, other notable matches saw Emma Raducanu and Naomi Osaka advancing, while top men’s seeds faced some early exits.

Zimbabwe Woman Paid Hitmen Only US$200 To Kill Ex-Husband

US$200 To End A Life: Bitter Woman Hires Hitmen To Kill Ex-Husband
A bitter feud between ex-spouses has ended in bloodshed after a woman allegedly paid just US$200 (around R3,700) to have her former husband brutally murdered in cold blood. The shocking details were revealed in court this week as the suspects appeared before the Chegutu Magistrates’ Court.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPA) confirmed the case in an official bulletin released on 23 July 2025, stating that the incident was rooted in a long-standing domestic dispute. What began as arguments over infidelity and property sharing has now escalated into a chilling tale of betrayal, premeditation, and violence.

From Dispute To Death: How A Murder Plot Was Hatched
According to the NPA, Sekai Apirizi (41), the alleged mastermind behind the murder, had been locked in a bitter fallout with her ex-husband, Aleck Sinoia, a well-known taxi driver in Chegutu.

“The first accused person had a long-standing dispute with her former husband over infidelity and property sharing after their separation,” the NPA revealed.

Unable to let go of the past, Sekai reportedly approached her tenant, Munyaradzi Munyaradzi (24), with a deadly request: find someone who could kill Aleck.

The tenant allegedly reached out to a man named Cleopas Gomarara, who then roped in another accomplice known only as Jefu. Together, they devised a plan to lure Aleck into a trap under the pretext of hiring his taxi for a trip to Chegutu Hospital.

Murder For Hire: Taxi Ride Turns Into Fatal Ambush
Court documents detail how the attackers approached Aleck requesting transport. Trusting his potential passengers, he accepted. But as he prepared to drive off, the men deflated the tyres of his vehicle, immobilising it. What followed was a vicious and calculated attack.

“They stabbed him several times all over the body and disappeared from the scene,” the NPA stated.

The attackers left Aleck for dead, fleeing the scene without a trace. Police later confirmed that US$200 had been paid to the hired killers.

The amount has left many stunned.

“US$200? That’s all they thought his life was worth?” asked a shocked social media user.

“A man lost his life over what some people spend in a single night out.”

Suspects Behind Bars As Police Hunt For Accomplices

The accused pair, Sekai and Munyaradzi, have been remanded in custody until 30 July 2025. They were advised to apply for bail at the High Court. Meanwhile, investigators say more suspects are still at large, including the elusive Jefu.

Polokwane Manager Accused of Awarding R56 Million Tender to Zimbabwean Boyfriend

Polokwane Manager Accused of Awarding R56 Million Tender to Zimbabwean Boyfriend

A major corruption scandal has hit the Polokwane Municipality, throwing Limpopo’s political leadership into crisis. Executive Mayor John Mpe and Municipal Manager Thuso Nemungumoni are under fire after being accused of awarding a R56.3 million tender to a company allegedly owned by Nemungumoni’s boyfriend, a Zimbabwean national said to also have close ties to the mayor.

R56 Million Tender Awarded to Zimbabwean Boyfriend
At the heart of the scandal is a 2023 infrastructure contract handed to Saatchi Civil Engineering, a company owned by Nemungumoni’s romantic partner. Critics say the deal didn’t follow proper procurement processes, raising red flags about nepotism, corruption, and the undue influence of foreign nationals in local government contracts.

Insiders allege that the tender was not openly advertised or competitively bid for, a move that has sparked outrage among opposition parties and watchdog groups. They’re demanding an urgent investigation into what they see as a textbook case of abuse of office.

Leaked List Raises More Questions
Making matters worse, a leaked list of tender beneficiaries from the 2022/2023 financial year is now doing the rounds on social media. The document appears to show a pattern of contracts being awarded to people with political connections or links to foreign nationals.

Although the list hasn’t been officially verified, it has fuelled growing public anger and added momentum to calls for a forensic audit of the municipality’s procurement practices.

Mayor and Municipal Manager remain silent
As outrage spreads, Mayor Mpe and Manager Nemungumoni have yet to address the public. Meanwhile, pressure is mounting for law enforcement agencies — including the Hawks and the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) — to step in and uncover the full extent of what many are calling a blatant looting of public funds.

US bans Transgender women from competing in women’s events

American transgender women will no longer be allowed to compete in women’s events at the Olympics and Paralympics following a recent policy update by the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC).

The change, effective July 21, 2025, was added to the USOPC Athlete Safety Policy under a new subsection titled “Additional Requirements.” It aligns with President Donald Trump’s executive order titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.”

According to the updated policy, the USOPC aims to “ensure that women have a fair and safe competition environment” in compliance with Executive Order 14201 and the Ted Stevens Olympic & Amateur Sports Act.

A memo sent to Team USA athletes by USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland and President Gene Sykes emphasized the committee’s obligation to comply with federal mandates. The memo referenced Trump’s order, which mandates enforcement of single-sex sports and locker rooms, and threatens to withdraw federal funding from institutions that allow transgender girls to compete in girls’ teams.

“All National Governing Bodies are required to update their applicable policies in alignment,” the USOPC noted in a statement to governing bodies, highlighting the importance of fair competition for women.

The policy shift comes amid broader changes in U.S. sports institutions. The NCAA has also revised its guidelines, limiting participation in women’s sports to athletes assigned female at birth.

The USOPC said it has engaged in “respectful and constructive conversations” with federal officials in implementing the new directive. The change also comes as Los Angeles prepares to host the 2028 Summer Olympics.

China says USA ‘withdrawal from UNESCO is an ‘irresponsible’ behaviour

Following the United States’ announcement of its withdrawal from UNESCO, China has criticised the Trump administration’s decision, calling it “irresponsible.”

During a press briefing on Wednesday, July 23, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry said Beijing “regretted” Washington’s announcement to leave the UN cultural and education agency.

“This is not the action that a responsible major country should take,” foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun told reporters, adding that China has always “firmly supported the work of UNESCO.”

On Tuesday, July 22, the US State Department announced the federal government’s decision to withdraw from UNESCO, stating that the country’s involvement with the agency was no longer in its national interest. The statement noted that UNESCO’s policies and alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals were “at odds with our America first foreign policy.”

The State Department also criticised UNESCO’s decision to admit Palestine as a member state, calling it “problematic” and contradictory to US foreign policy.

“Pursuant to Article II(6) of the UNESCO Constitution, U.S. withdrawal will take effect on December 31, 2026. The United States will remain a full member of UNESCO until that time,” the statement said.

The US withdrawal from UNESCO follows President Donald Trump’s earlier announcement that the country would also leave the World Health Organization, a decision among the first executive orders of his second term.

In response, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay said the agency “deeply regret[s] President Donald Trump’s decision to once again withdraw the United States of America from UNESCO.” She noted that while the decision contradicts the principle of multilateralism, UNESCO had anticipated the exit and was prepared for it.

“Thanks to the efforts made by the Organization since 2018, the decreasing trend in the financial contribution of the US has been offset, so that it now represents 8% of the Organization’s total budget compared to 40% for some United Nations entities; while at the same time, UNESCO’s overall budget has steadily increased. Today, the Organization is better protected in financial terms, with the steady support of a large number of Member States and private contributors. These voluntary contributions have doubled since 2018,” the organisation added.

Tennis champion Ana Ivanovic confirms divorce from ex footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger

Former tennis world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic and ex-Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger have officially ended their nine-year marriage.

Ivanovic’s lawyer, Christian Schertz, confirmed the separation in a public statement, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The high-profile couple, long considered one of the sporting world’s most recognizable duos, tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Venice in July 2016. They began dating in 2014, during Schweinsteiger’s tenure at Bayern Munich, and continued their relationship as he moved to Manchester United in 2015.

That same year, Ivanovic began winding down her tennis career, retiring in December 2016 after winning 15 WTA titles, including the French Open in 2008.

The couple shares three sons. Their first two, Luca and Leon, have been named publicly, while the name of their youngest — born less than two years ago — remains undisclosed.

Tennis champion Ana Ivanovic confirms divorce from ex footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger citing ?Irreconcilable differences? after 9 year marriage

Rumors of marital strain had circulated for months, and in April, reports suggested the couple was facing a “deep crisis” due to diverging lifestyles.

Schweinsteiger’s punditry and media commitments often require extensive travel, while Ivanovic has reportedly been spending more time in her native Serbia, supported by her family in Belgrade.

Their last public appearance together came during the Laver Cup in Berlin last September. They later posted a joint photo from a Christmas market, but updates about their family life have been sparse since then.

In June, German media reported Schweinsteiger was seen kissing another woman, identified only as “Silva,” a Bulgarian national believed to be connected to him through their children’s school. The two were reportedly spotted vacationing together in Mallorca, following previous trips to Morocco.

In light of these developments, Ivanovic’s legal representative emphasized that there would be no further public comments from the couple and requested privacy for both parties and their children.

Ivanovic recently attended Wimbledon, returning to the tournament where she famously reached the semi-finals 18 years ago.

Woman k!lls husband for not s33xu@lly satisfying her

A woman has been arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly murd£ring her husband because he was not able to s£xually satisfy her, Indian officials said.

According to the police, on the evening of Sunday, July 20, around 4.15 pm, Nihal Vihar Police Station received a call from Sanjay Gandhi Hospital reporting that a woman identified as Farzana Khan had brought her husband, identified as Mohammad Shahid, in with multiple stab wounds. The man was declared de@d on arrival.

According to police, the couple hailed from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh.

When the police reached the hospital, the woman claimed her husband had stabbed himself to de@th.

Shahid’s brother, who had taken the couple to the hospital, reportedly told police that Farzana claimed that Shahid took his own life because of his gambling-related debts.

However, the post-mortem report revealed that the injuries could not have been self-inflicted, as the stab wounds were consistent with an attack from the front.

“The wife told us he stabbed himself, as he was under stress due to gambling losses,” said a senior officer.

But the postmortem examination, conducted on Monday, July 21, pointed to murder.

“The doctors informed us that the wounds were inconsistent with suicide. One of them was fatal and could not have been self-inflicted,” the officer added.

Following this, the police registered a murd£r case and intensified the probe.
During questioning and a forensic check of her mobile phone, investigators discovered the woman’s internet search history, which included queries about “deleting chat histories, using poisonous substances like aluminium phosphide” (commonly known as salphos), and its lethal effects.

Confronted with this evidence, the woman confessed to the crime. She told police that she was dissatisfied with her s£xual relationship with her husband and decided to k!ll him.

“She said she was unhappy in the marriage — both with their physical relationship and with the financial strain caused by his gambling. She also admitted to having an affair with her husband’s cousin, who lives in Bareilly,” the officer said.

She allegedly stabbed Shahid three times in the chest and then took him to the hospital herself, fabricating a suicide story to mislead the police.

Police are now investigating who she was chatting with, which led her to look up ways to erase digital evidence.

The murd£r weapon, a knife, has been recovered.

Farzana was apprehended on Tuesday, July 22. She is currently in police custody as officials work to ascertain the complete motive behind the crime.

Chinese actor executed by firing squad for murd£r of 16-year-old girlfriend

Chinese entertainer Zhang Yiyang, accused of murd£ring his 16-year-old girlfriend in 2022 has been executed.

Hewas executed on December 18, 2024, according to a detailed investigation report recently released by the Intermediate People’s Court of Xianyang in North Shaanxi Province.

According to media report, this marks the first execution of an entertainer in China’s entertainment industry.

According to the court’s report, Zhang began dating the victim in September 2021. However, a dispute arose when his girlfriend proposed breaking up. Zhang had repeatedly threatened her with su!cide and on February 26, 2022, Zhang attacked her with a folding knife in a wooded area in Xingping, Shaanxi, rupturing the girl’s left carotid artery, jugular vein, trachea and esophagus, which ultimately led to her de@th due to massive bleeding.

After the mud£r, Zhang took away the girl’s mobile phone and returned home by taxi, changing his cloth, discarding the weapon and related items in a reservoir to destroy evidence.

On the next day, Zhang attempted to commit su!cide at a hotel but failed. He was discovered by hotel staffers, who reported to the police and sent him to the hospital. As a result, the case came to light, and the police subsequently arrested him.

After a court trial, Zhang was sentenced to de@th for “intentional homicide” and was deprived of political rights for life. After the first trial verdict, Zhang appealed, but the second court upheld the original judgment.

The police said that Zhang exhibited paranoid emotional and psychological conditions, with the motive for the crime stemming from long-standing resentment and an inability to accept the breakup, ultimately leading to the tragedy.

The court believed that Zhang’s actions were cruel and had produced a severe negative impact on society. He was sentenced to de@th, and the execution was carried out by shooting on December 18, 2024.

Born in May 1990, Zhang had been in the industry for many years but remained relatively unknown, but due to his conviction for murd£r, he has become the first celebrity in the Chinese entertainment industry to be sentenced to de@th, media reports said.

Lubinda denounces Chabinga as political imposter

Lubinda denounces Chabinga as political imposter

ACTING Patriotic Front (PF) faction president Given Lubinda has dismissed Robert Chabinga’s claims of representing the opposition party, describing him as having no authority or mandate to speak on behalf of the PF.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday, Lubinda insisted that the PF remains united under its legitimate leadership and distanced the party from recent controversies sparked by leaked audios and statements attributed to Chabinga.

“Robert Chabinga has no mandate to speak, act, or represent the Patriotic Front in any capacity whatsoever,” Lubinda declared, adding that the courts had already nullified any claims or appointments associated with the Mafinga lawmaker.

Lubinda also criticised the speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti and Vice President Mutale Nalumango for what he described as deliberate disregard of judicial authority by recognising Chabinga as the Leader of Opposition despite a High Court ruling allegedly confirming Miles Sampa as the rightful leader.

The former Kabwata lawmaker also accused government, claiming that President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration was actively using state institutions to weaken the PF, citing an audio of alleged voices of Chabinga and Cabinet Minister Doreen Mwamba as evidence of state-backed schemes.

Lubinda alleged that the government facilitated Chabinga’s controversial trip to South Africa, which he said was aimed at creating diplomatic tension and interfering with the funeral arrangements of former President Edgar Lungu.

He further challenged the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), and Zambia Police to act on revelations made in the said audio, accusing the authorities of turning a blind eye to Chabinga’s claims of financial sponsorship and alleged bribery attempts.

Meanwhile, the PF make shift leader appealed to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and the international community to ignore what he called stage-managed protests linked to Chabinga and his alleged sponsors, insisting that the PF was not involved in any subversive activities outside Zambia….https://kalemba.news/politics/lubinda-denounces-chabinga-as-political-imposter/

SPEAKER HAS NO POWER TO DECLARE TASILA LUNGU’S SEAT VACANT — FEIRA MP

SPEAKER HAS NO POWER TO DECLARE TASILA LUNGU’S SEAT VACANT — FEIRA MP

By: Sun FM TV Reporter

Feira Member of Parliament Emmanuel Tembo has revealed that Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti has no authority to declare Tasila Lungu’s Chawama Parliamentary Seat vacant.

Speaking to Sun FM TV News in an interview, Mr. Tembo argued that Parliamentary Standing Order 223, as adopted by the Standing Orders Committee in 2024, does not explicitly indicate that due to absenteeism, an MP can have their seat declared vacant.

Mr. Tembo claims it is surprising that Speaker Mutti even reserved a ruling on the matter, wondering what the verdict will be.

He said it is understandable that Ms. Tasila Lungu cannot be attending Parliamentary sittings when her father has not yet been buried.

On Tuesday, 15th July 2025, Zambezi East MP Brian Kambita issued a point of order questioning the continued absenteeism of Ms. Lungu, wondering whether the act indicates that the lawmaker does not intend to return and fulfill her duties, thereby denying the people of Chawama effective representation.

OPEN LETTER TO OPPOSITION LEADERS:A CALL FOR UNITY AND STRATEGIC ACTION TO SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY

OPEN LETTER TO OPPOSITION LEADERS:

A CALL FOR UNITY AND STRATEGIC ACTION TO SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY

23rd July, 2025

Fellow Opposition Leaders, Fellow Patriots, and Concerned Zambians,

As we stand on the brink of 2026, we must awaken to a sobering truth, this is not just another election cycle it is a defining moment. A new liberation struggle, not from colonialism, but from a homegrown authoritarian system that is steadily strangling our democracy. This is a battle for the soul of our nation.

We are not preparing for an ordinary political contest. We are gearing up to confront a system engineered to preserve power through manipulation, fear, and the weaponization of state institutions. We are not up against a mere political party we face an entrenched regime led by a man who has mistaken the presidency for personal property.

This Is No Longer Democracy. It Is Tyranny in Disguise.

What we are witnessing under President Hakainde Hichilema is not democratic leadership. It is state-sponsored tyranny.

We see it in the compromised Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), operating as an extension of the UPND, not an independent institution. The Lumezi by-election, where a UPND candidate’s name was shockingly omitted from the ballot, remains a chilling example of electoral fraud.

We see tyranny in the National Assembly, led by Speaker where opposition MPs are no longer treated as elected representatives, but as schoolchildren silenced, suspended, and humiliated at will.

We see it in a judiciary that has lost its independence, and in a police service that no longer protects citizens, but acts as a private militia for the ruling party beating, arresting, and even killing citizens who dare to dissent. Ask the residents of Kikonge Mine in Mufumbwe, where innocent lives were lost simply for trying to earn a living.

Is this democracy or is it tyranny wrapped in the language of reform?

Zambians Are Suffering While Elites Feast

Our people are hungry in a country overflowing with natural wealth. While Zambians are burdened by joblessness, rising fuel prices, and unbearable living costs, a privileged elite hoards national resources behind a curtain of propaganda.

This administration is like a gold-plated chalice filled with poison shiny on the outside, but toxic within.

Let us be clear, bane.this regime does not fear criticism. It fears unity. That is why it will stop at nothing to divide, isolate, and silence the opposition. It will try to jail us, erase us, break us. But what it cannot defeat is a people united in truth, purpose, and determination.

Opposition Leaders: The Time to Unite Is Now

We issue this heartfelt appeal to every well-meaning opposition leader:
Put aside personal ambition. Bury party pride. Forget historical rivalries.
This is not the time for ego or pettiness. This is the time to rise as patriots, not politicians.

If we do not unite now, we will not just lose an election we will lose Zambia.

Let us not stand like a cob of maize waiting to be harvested. Let us rise, organize, and present a single, formidable opposition front in 2026 one that will not only contest elections but win and restore dignity to our institutions

Zambians are ready. They have tasted the bitterness of UPND rule. Now, they hunger for a new harvest a harvest of hope, truth, justice, and inclusive development.

To President Hakainde Hichilema, Zambia Is Not Your Ranch

Let this letter also serve as  a reminder to the President that, Zambia is not your ranch. It is not your inheritance.
It is a sovereign Republic governed by the Constitution not by your party, not by your inner circle, and certainly not by your personal will.

State institutions exist to serve the people, not to shield the powerful.
The law must not be a weapon used selectively against the weak. It must apply equally to those in power.

Conclusion: This Is a Defining Moment

Let us stop wasting time lamenting a leadership the people have already rejected in their hearts.

Let us focus on building something new something bold, united, and people-driven.

Let this be the moment of courage. The season of healing. The genesis of a people’s movement one that stands for justice, dignity, and a Zambia that works for all.

To those who refuse to unite step aside.
Zambia is calling for visionaries, not opportunists. For patriots, not cowards.

History is watching.
The people are ready.
Ala bane, the time to unite is now.

It will be a grave mistake to allow this toxic chalice shiny on the outside, but deadly within to go beyond 2026.

Let us rise.
Let us unite.
Let us redeem our country from the clutches of intolerance, bitterness, immaturity, and persecution, where it’s either you are with them or you die or go to jail.

Chisopa demands update from Mutati on whether AI can chew, speak Bemba

By Chinoyi Chipulu

Mkushi South member of Parliament Davies Chisopa has questioned why minister of Science and Technology Felix Mutati has not updated the nation that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is able to chew and speak Zambian local languages like Bemba.

Recently an audio believed to be that of PF faction leader Robert Chabinga went viral, where he was heard having a conversation with a lady believed to be Community Development Minster Doreen Mwamba.

In the audio, the duo was heard discussing late president Edgar Lungu’s body repatriation saga.

But Chabinga said the recording was a product of AI while senior UPND officials have also supported his position.

Chisopa was speaking during matters without notice yesterday in Parliament.

He asked why the minister did not inform the country that AI

Charity cries foul after being mentioned in the ‘Chabinga’ audio

Long time PF member Charity Banda says she has endured insurmountable insults after being mentioned in an audio allegedly revealing a conspiracy involving President Hakainde Hichilema and Mafinga member of parliament (PF) Robert Chabinga over a plot to secure the remains of late president Edgar Lungu by bribing a judge in South Africa.

The leaked audio from a phone conversation allegedly between Chabinga and Community Development minister Doreen Mwamba, revealed the behind the scenes plotting to secure Lungu’s remains, including bribery, and organising paid for protests in Zambia, all aimed at influencing the decision of the judge handling the Lungu repatriation case.

The Chabinga-sound-alike was heard discussing with Mwamba-sound-alike about the phone call he allegedly received from President Hakainde Hichilema, following 12 missed calls from the head of state. In the audio, the Chabinga-sound-alike was assigned to bribe the judge handling the Lungu repatriation case in South Africa, and that the same was going to work with Charity to organise protests to get Lungu’s body back into the country for burial.

A letter has also been leaked allegedly authored by Charity Banda to President Hichilema, wherein she insisted that she was a diehard PF member not motivated by monetary gain, but wanted the President to engage the Lungu family to resolve the impasse.

But in a voice note shared with Daily Revelation, Banda – revealing the heavy pressure she had come under from Lungu’s sympathisers – urged those who were attacking her not to link

President Hakainde Hichilema says Zambians should not be afraid of dying.

Speaking at State House yesterday when he swore in Zambia’s Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary to Israel, Mahuba Hazemba, Hichilema said people should not fear dying because it was God who controls life.

“Don’t be afraid of going there, you will be safe, don’t be afraid of dying. Zambians have this mystery about life and
