Joshua Maponga Doubts God

Amb Emmanuel Mwamba writes:

Maponga Doubts God

He was my favourite and thoughful SDA Preacher.

Since 2020, Maponga was banned from attending, speaking, preaching and officiating at any function of the Church in Southern and Indian-Ocean.

He has since become a leading voice championing  pan-africanism and indigenous African knowledge.

Joshua Maponga a Zimbabwean born public speaker, author, philosopher, leader, musician, and social entrepreneur has moved from asserting that Jesus amd the Jews are black to questioning the entire existence of God!

His recent tweets have demonstrated that his thoughts have taken him to a deeper theological end.

Take a look at these posts;

So God made sin default but cannot make salvation default?

If sin is by default and salvation by choice because of freewill, WHERE WAS MY FREEWILL when sin was made default?

Where was my FREEWILL when Jesus was allegedly killed for my sake without my consent?

Jesus Betrayed Judas Iscariot, not the other way round!

Now, let me prove it to you…

Jesus already knew ahead of time that Judas will sell him off to the Romans to be killed,   and Jesus did nothing to save Judas.

Jesus already knew that Judas Iscariot is a thief who is always stealing from the disciples treasury and so can do anything for money, yet Jesus did nothing to fix Judas’s human flaws and nature.

Jesus knew the moment when Satan entered Judas Iscariot, but Jesus did nothing to save Judas from Satan same way he prayed for Peter when Satan entered him

In fact, Jesus knew it was Judas’s destiny to betray him and at some point even asked Judas to betray him (Jesus) fast.

Jesus knew all these things ahead of time but blatantly refused to help nor did anything to protect Judas from Satan…

Isn’t that outright betrayal from Jesus?

Considering the above facts, between Jesus and Judas Iscariot who truly betrayed who?

Because Jesus knew all along what Judas will do, but never warned him nor prayed for him to avert that doom that befall Judas.

Remember, Judas didn’t know that he will betray Jesus, which is why he went and unalived himself after the act, because he couldn’t bear the shame and pain that came with it.

So Jesus actually betrayed Judas Iscariot because he had all the powers and the opportunity to save Judas but never did!

“Thou shall not kill”
But you killed your only son!

“Thou shall not judge”
But I am the judge of all!

“I am not a man that I should lie”
But Adam and Eve didn’t die after eating the fruit!

” I am the Lord and I do not change, I am the same today, tomorrow and forever more”

But I only spoke and interacted with humans in the Bible and thereafter has remained silent and never interacts with humans anymore.

Please who do you say your God is again?

If God can lie and give rules that doesn’t apply to him, what is the difference between God and government?

Or is the true meaning of GOD – Government Of the Day?

Mozambique and Zambia Sign $1.5 Billion Deal to Construct Beira–Ndola Petroleum Pipeline

Mozambique and Zambia Sign $1.5 Billion Deal to Construct Beira–Ndola Petroleum Pipeline

Mozambique and Zambia have signed a landmark memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the construction of a petroleum pipeline linking the port city of Beira in Mozambique to Ndola in Zambia, in a project valued at US$1.5 billion.

The announcement was made by Mozambican President Daniel Chapo during the opening of the 11th Mozambique Mining and Energy Conference (MMEC), a high-level event bringing together regional policymakers, energy experts, and private sector leaders.

The proposed pipeline, with a capacity to transport 3.5 million metric tons of refined petroleum products per year, will span over 1,400 kilometers and is expected to be a game-changer in Southern Africa’s energy logistics.

For Zambia, a landlocked country, the project promises a reliable, secure, and cost-effective alternative to importing fuel by road tankers a method that has been expensive, environmentally taxing, and often risky.

The city of Ndola, Zambia’s industrial and fuel distribution hub, will host new storage infrastructure as part of the pipeline project. This move is expected to strengthen Ndola’s strategic role in the national and regional fuel supply chain.

Zambia also anticipates significant savings on fuel transportation costs, enhanced energy security, and reduced road congestion and maintenance costs, especially on the TAZARA and Great East Road corridors.

Mozambique, on the other hand, stands to gain from increased port activities and transit fees, positioning Beira as a major petroleum gateway for the region and bolstering the central corridor’s economic profile.

The construction of storage infrastructure in Beira will add value to Mozambique’s energy sector and create opportunities for job creation and private investment in logistics and support services.

President Chapo said the project reflects Mozambique’s growing attractiveness to investors, noting that the country is consolidating a reputation for economic credibility, regulatory reforms, and long-term infrastructure planning.

He added that the agreement underscores Mozambique’s ambition to become a vital conduit for energy and trade in Southern Africa, benefiting from its geographical positioning and growing infrastructure portfolio.

Zambian energy officials praised the pipeline as a strategic investment that aligns with national development goals and SADC regional integration objectives. They emphasized that it would also reduce the environmental footprint associated with fuel trucking.

The project is expected to attract both domestic and international private sector investment, with further details on partners and timelines to follow environmental and technical feasibility assessments.

As the Beira–Ndola pipeline moves from planning to implementation, both countries are optimistic that it will serve as a long-term catalyst for economic growth, trade efficiency, and regional cooperation.

DR Congo Referee  Burned to Death by Mob Over Theft Allegation

DR Congo Referee  Burned to Death by Mob Over Theft Allegation

By: Joy Online

A wave of shock and sorrow has swept across the Democratic Republic of Congo following the brutal killing of football referee Patrick Ngalamulume in Bukavu, in the country’s conflict-ridden east.

The 36-year-old, popularly known as “Ngalas,” was lynched and set ablaze by an enraged crowd in the Irambo neighbourhood between the night of 5 and 6 May 2025. The mob accused him of theft—a claim that was never verified.

Eyewitnesses say the attack unfolded in full view of residents, as a growing crowd beat the referee before setting him on fire. No intervention came from the police or emergency services.

“It was horrifying. No one could stop it. The anger was uncontrollable,” said one local who witnessed the lynching but asked to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal.
Ngalamulume, affiliated with the Bukavu Urban Football Association (EUFBUK), had no criminal record and was known for his professionalism on the pitch.

His death has left the local football community and broader civil society in mourning.

Florida state Senator Ileana Garcia passes out onstage during speech

A press conference held by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Tuesday, May 6, took an unexpected turn when State Senator Ileana Garcia collapsed while delivering a speech onstage. Garcia, a Republican representing Florida’s District 36, was speaking on environmental legislation when she appeared to lose her balance.

In a moment captured on video by The Florida Channel, Garcia turned toward Governor DeSantis, who was offscreen, and said she was not feeling well and needed to sit down. Moments later, she closed her eyes and began to faint. Fortunately, Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo was nearby and quickly caught her, easing her into a chair.

Audience members rushed to her side, offering water and support as they tried to determine what had gone wrong. The cause of her fainting spell was not immediately clear.

Despite the incident, Garcia recovered quickly. Within a minute, she returned to the podium and lightened the mood by joking, “Are you kidding? This was my moment,” before confidently finishing her speech.

Governor DeSantis, who was seen at the end of the video smiling, appeared impressed by the senator’s resilience. Garcia’s composure and quick recovery drew praise, with many calling her a “trooper” for continuing despite the health scare.

The world’s first nonuplets are doing well as they turn four

Abdelkader Arby and Halima Cissé, a couple from Mali, recently celebrated the fourth birthday of their nonuplets. The children hold the record for most children born at a single birth to survive.

Per the Guinness World Records (GWR), the parents also share the title of most children delivered at a single birth with Geraldine Brodrick (Australia) in 1971, although none of those children survived.

After being born in Morocco, the nonuplets returned to Mali after they were 19 months old.

At first, doctors believed Halima was expecting seven children. It wasn’t until the Malian government transported her and Abdelkader to Morocco for treatment at a specialized clinic that the other two were found.

On May 4, Kadidia, Fatouma, Hawa, Adama, and Oumou celebrated their special day alongside brothers Mohammed VI, Elhadji, Oumar, and Bah.

Halima’s five daughters and four sons were delivered prematurely via C-section at 30 weeks gestation. An average pregnancy lasts around 40 weeks.

The newborns weighed between 0.5 and 1 kg (1.1 and 2.2 pounds). Because there had never been a documented instance of this many children from a single birth all surviving, their births were so unusual that they made headlines worldwide.

The risky nature of the birth, however, caused Halima and her children to remain in Morocco for so long.

They had to reside in a specially furnished apartment with a staff of nurses there to help as required.

The kids have an older sister, Arby, who is six years old.

The 29-year-old mom told GWR, “The children are all well, by the grace of God…They have grown so much since their last birthday and the change is clearly visible in them all…For their 4th birthday, we decided to celebrate in a grandiose way, as a celebrity would!”

Proud dad Abdelkader also previously told the BBC in 2022 ahead of the children’s first birthday, “They all have different characters. Some are quiet, while other make more noise and cry a lot. Some want to be picked up all the time. They are all very different, which is entirely normal.”

A$AP Rocky Reveals He Once Auditioned For Iconic Star Wars Character

A$AP Rocky has revealed that he once auditioned for the role of Star Wars character, Lando Calrissian.

The character was originally played by Billy Dee Williams but also appears in prequel Solo: A Star Wars Story, the film Rocky was auditioning for.

Speaking to Variety, Rocky admitted that he was not at the top of his acting game back then: “I auditioned for Star Wars — for Lando — and my audition was trash. I was trash that day.

He also said Donald Glover was deserving of the role: “My man Childish Gambino was a way better Lando than I would’ve provided at that time. And I think he looked a little more like [Billy Dee Williams] than me.”

Rocky was also asked if he’s still put himself forward for a Star Wars role in the future and he answered: “Hell, yeah.”

A$AP Rocky is set to be seen in Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, his biggest acting role to date that also sees him star alongside Denzel Washington and Jeffrey Wright.

In an interview with The Run Through with Vogue, Rocky revealed what Washington was listening to on the set of the film.

He said: “Denzel would pull up to the movie set playing Pooh Shiesty and Moneybagg Yo, swear to God. Can’t make this up.”

Rocky added: “He likes to listen to Memphis rappers, but modern Memphis rappers. Then he started quoting NLE Choppa. I’m like, ‘You know NLE Choppa?!’ He like, ‘I don’t do drive-bys now, walk ’em down.’ I’m like, ‘Yo, Denzel, chill!’ It was crazy, he’s really tapped in, man.”

A trailer for the crime drama recently dropped with the film scheduled to be released in cinemas on August 22 before debuting on Apple TV+ on September 5.

Spike Lee recently revealed that he cast the rapper in his latest movie after seeing memes stating the “Fashion Killa” star looked like a young Denzel.

He said on 7PM in Brooklyn: “What’s funny is that I was looking at Instagram, four or five years ago, and people were saying that A$AP looked like he’s Denzel’s son. I seen those memes, and then in the film we used that.”

A$AP Rocky Wants To Be The Next James Bond

A$AP Rocky appears to have gotten the bug for acting and is targeting one of the most sought after roles in Hollywood.

In an interview with Variety, Rocky admitted that he wanted to get involved in action movies after doing some stunt work on his upcoming film, Highest 2 Lowest.

In particular, Rocky said he would be interested in playing 007: “I’m down for whatever. I think I need to be the new Black James Bond. Like, why not? If we hit the gym, I’ma be aight. Right now I’m in dad mode; you’re gonna have to give me a couple months.”

The rapper and burgeoning actor also revealed his desire to appear in something that was family friendly.

He said: “I want to do something for my children. Everybody’s doing Despicable Me and SpongeBob and shit like that. I want to do an original DreamWorks/Pixar-ass film, like Soul.

“I like the internet stuff too, like Gracie’s Corner. I hate Cocomelon. Cocomelon is bad for the kids, man, but Gracie’s is hittin’. I just hope my kids don’t grow up and think that shit was lame. So, whatever I do, it’s gonna be cool and timeless.”

Elsewhere, Rocky revealed that he once auditioned to play Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

He said: “I auditioned for Star Wars — for Lando — and my audition was trash. I was trash that day.

Rocky also admitted Donald Glover was deserving of the role: “My man Childish Gambino was a way better Lando than I would’ve provided at that time. And I think he looked a little more like [Billy Dee Williams] than me.”

Rocky would go on to be asked if he would still put himself forward for a Star Wars role in the future and he answered: “Hell, yeah.”

JAY-Z Claims Rape Accuser Cost Him Almost $200 Million

JAY-Z has claimed that the rape accusations aimed at him by an anonymous woman has cost him almost $200 million.

In an amendment to his defamation lawsuit against the anonymous accuser and her attorney, Tony Buzbee, the rap mogul alleges that he suffered serious financial harm resulting from the accusations.

The filing claims Jay “lost other contracts in the sports and entertainment space that would have generated revenues of, at least, $20 million.”

The Roc Nation founder claims the total would have been far higher if the contract had been carried out.

Jay also claims that he was denied a $55 million credit line and that Roc Nation itself was refused a $115 million loan from a bank.

The filing further states: “We have agreements to produce entertainment programs for certain sporting events. After Mr. Buzbee filed the lawsuit, the media reported that other businesses could end their deals with Roc Nation, and forced one to speak out and address whether these false allegations would end our business relationship.”

JAY-Z’s rape accuser has previously filed to get his defamation lawsuit against her dismissed.

The woman originally claimed that JAY-Z and Diddy raped her when she was 13 before she dropped her suit after numerous discrepancies were found in her story.

After she dropped her own lawsuit, Jay filed one of his own, accusing the woman and her controversial attorney, Tony Buzbee, of defamation for bringing the case in the first place.

The anonymous woman has now motioned a judge for dismissal, claiming that JAY-Z can’t sue her as the claims were made in court documents and thus protected by law.

She also claims that an interview she did with NBC was based entirely on the contents of the court documents.

Buzbee also previously filed a motion to dismiss, claiming that he and JAY-Z had come to an agreement.

The filing stated: “Eventually, the relentless pressure that Mr. Carter and his associates placed upon Doe became too much for her. On February 4, 2025, an agreement to resolve the litigation was reached between Doe and Mr. Carter, through their attorneys, which included the voluntary dismissal of the SDNY Action.”

However, Jay’s attorney claims that no such agreement exists: “Total lie. He brought a false case, lost badly and was forced to dismiss quickly. End of story.”

Man says his ex, who is 30 years younger, stole 8 of his properties worth over $1.1m

After Sam Cormier’s property was stolen and sold off without his knowledge, a lawyer at Vestige Law strongly advises property owners to regularly examine their documents.

Cormier was shocked when, in 2022, he was asked to pay rent on a property he already owned. He has been fighting for the past two and a half years to recover eight homes that he believes were stolen from him; these houses, he claims, were totally paid off and worth more than $1.1 million.

The 84-year-old told Click2Houston, “I said, ‘No, I didn’t sell my property.’ And the woman on the phone said, ‘Well, your properties are now owned by this company,’ and I said, ‘What!’”

The rent demand confused Cormier, so he called the lender mentioned on the notification. At that point, he claimed to have discovered that the property had been given to a management firm that carried his ex-partner’s last name. Cormier said that property and seven others had been used as collateral for a $1 million loan.

Cormier’s friend Kevin Williams said, “She took the deeds and got a lump sum loan against them, because all the properties were paid off.”

Within a short time, Cormier said all eight properties were liquidated and auctioned off. The newly filed deeds, according to Cormier, were forged without his permission and were fake. He feels he was targeted because of his age, noting that the woman involved is nearly 30 years younger and has access to a notary.

“I lost my money, I’m losing my voice, I’m losing my health. It’s really hard. This is traumatic,” he said.

In Harris County, filing a new deed doesn’t require much, according to the lead lawyer at Vestige Law. All one needs to do is bring a paper and a notary stamp to the county office.

“You pay a small fee — $10 or $20 — and you can record a new deed,” the attorney explained.

Because of this, they emphasize the importance of regular monitoring.

“The public has access to property records online. Every six months, just check to make sure your property is still in your name,” the attorney advised. “One other thing that I would recommend is drive around your property from time to time. At least once a year or once in six months, go take a drive around the property because there are people who are keeping an eye, there may be squatters or people who see if the property is left vacant, then they can take action.”

Houston Police did, however, confirm that the case has been thoroughly examined. Charges are expected to be filed with the District Attorney’s Office.

There is also a legal case underway against the lender that helped facilitate the disputed loan.

Potential Diddy juror excused after admitting it’ll be hard for him to quit smoking marijuana during trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial commenced on Monday with jury selection that also took place on Tuesday. The embattled music executive, whose high-profile trial could last up to eight weeks, has drawn widespread attention following his arrest and prosecution.

During Tuesday’s jury selection, a potential juror opened up about his marijuana usage and was ultimately dismissed after he admitted that it was going to be difficult for him to quit smoking weed during the trial, PEOPLE reported.

“I smoke marijuana personally for recreational use,” the potential juror told the court. And though he claimed that his use of marijuana wouldn’t affect his partiality during the trial, he agreed his judgment could be impacted by that.

The potential juror also answered in the affirmative when he was asked if he could do away with smoking while sitting on the weeks-long trial. But he stated that he smoked marijuana nightly, and had even done so “last night.”

The potential juror was ultimately excused after he admitted it was going to be hard for him to quit. Per PEOPLE, 35 jurors have so far been given the all-clear to sit on the trial, with a total of 45 expected to be selected. The jury is also expected to be seated on Wednesday.

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Combs, 55, was arrested by federal agents on September 16 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs, who entered a not-guilty plea, is being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The Bad Boy Records founder is additionally facing multiple sexual assault lawsuits.

Combs is accused of orchestrating “Freak-Offs,” described as elaborate, produced sex performances that he directed, recorded, and sometimes participated in.

Combs’ legal woes started after CNN shared a video of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. The rapper and music executive had initially denied allegations of rape and abuse from Cassie. But he later issued an apology on social media after the circulation of the video.

The 55-year-old could be sentenced to life in prison if found guilty of the charges.

Mnangagwa tightening his grip on Zimbabwe’s military and state security services

By Hopewell Chin’ono

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, is reported to be tightening his grip on the military and state security services with immediate key appointments made this week, according to sources within the state.

According to these reliable sources, Mnangagwa is appointing retired Brigadier-General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi to the position of Chief of Staff of the Army and will promote him to the rank of Major-General.

Tapfumaneyi served as Deputy Director-General (Operations) of Zimbabwe’s Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) until recently.

He had been in the army before but was removed during Vice President General Constantino Chiwenga’s tenure as Commander of the Defence Forces and is reportedly not on good terms with Chiwenga at all.

He also ran covert political initiatives for Mnangagwa using the CIO, notably the establishment of the Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ) trust.

FAZ was created to support Mnangagwa during the 2023 elections and was involved in activities such as voter mobilisation for ZANUPF and voter intimidation at polling stations where it stationed operatives with desks and benches.

Tapfumaneyi is expected to eventually take over from the newly appointed Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant-General Emmanuel Matatu.

Mnangagwa also appointed Paul Chikawa as the new CIO Deputy-Director in charge of the external branch.

A lady veteran intelligence officer known as Benadate Mandongwe is being brought in as the new CIO Deputy-Director of Administration.
The former Deputy-Director of Administration, Patrick Mutasa, is being seconded as ambassador to Cuba.

Former CIO Deputy-Director, Dr Gatsha Mazithulela, has been demoted and given a new post as Director of Narcotics in the Office of the President.

Mnangagwa recently appointed a new CIO Director-General, Dr Fulton Mangwanya, following the removal of Isaac Moyo.

He has also appointed a new Deputy-Director of Operations, Cephas Hodzi, who replaces Tapfumaneyi.

UNAIDS to cut workforce in half and shift jobs abroad amid major global funding losses

The United Nations agency leading the fight against HIV is preparing to reduce its staff by more than 50% and relocate many roles to lower-cost countries after significant funding losses from key donors across the U.S., Europe and Asia.

In a statement, UNAIDS warned that “the overall global AIDS response is facing a severe shock and many of the gains made in the past few decades are at risk of being reversed.” The agency said the reorganization comes in response to an independent panel’s call for “downsizing” its Geneva headquarters while safeguarding “the most essential functions.” UNAIDS added it will retain operations in 36 countries.

The cuts by the current Trump administration, part of broader reductions in global health aid have delivered what may be the most serious setback yet to the global HIV/AIDS response.

NAIDS previously cautioned that without the swift restoration of support, the coming years could see over 6 million additional deaths and around 2,000 new HIV infections per day.

Horror In Scotland: Zimbabwean Man Kills Wife In Cold Blood In Front Of Shocked Neighbours

Scotland Tragedy: Zimbabwean Man Sentenced For Killing Wife In Garden
A Zimbabwean man has been sentenced to life in prison — with a minimum of 18 years — after he murdered his wife in cold blood in front of stunned neighbours in Broxburn, Scotland, just two weeks after a domestic abuse case against him was dropped.

‘She begged for her life’
Veronica Chinyanga, 42, was brutally attacked by her husband, Kasikai Chinyanga, in their back garden on 9 June 2024.

The BBC reports that, according to chilling details heard in the High Court in Glasgow, Veronica screamed for help as she was repeatedly struck with a garden fork and then stabbed in the stomach while neighbours looked on in horror.

“She begged for her life as he attacked her with a garden tool in the back garden,” said prosecutor Wojciech Jajdelski.

“Neighbours were aware of a disturbance and could hear her screams.”

The court heard that Veronica had spent the day with her children at her teenage son’s football awards ceremony. Her husband, who worked in finance for the NHS, did not attend.

Audio from a nearby CCTV camera captured her desperate cries. She tried to flee by climbing over a 6ft fence but was dragged back down.

“Neighbours repeatedly shouted at Chinyanga to stop,” the prosecutor added.

“He said nothing. He showed no panic.”

Case collapsed weeks earlier
On 27 May 2024, a domestic abuse case against Chinyanga was dropped when Veronica failed to appear in court.

The court was told that the charges included claims he had been aggressive and physically assaulted her in early 2023.

“There had been a history of domestic incidents,” Jajdelski explained.

“But criminal proceedings were not concluded due to Veronica’s reluctance to attend court.”

In a text sent to her sister on 2 June — just a week before her death — Veronica expressed fears that her husband was “bitter” and “not going to forgive” her for calling the police.

‘Why?’ he shouted
After the initial assault with a garden fork, Chinyanga walked into the house, returned with a kitchen knife, and continued the attack.

“He went back to her and lashed out with the knife. He was heard shouting ‘Why?’,” the court was told.

He then walked calmly to a neighbour’s home and asked them to call the police.

Veronica died from her injuries in hospital. The couple, originally from Zimbabwe, had been living in Scotland since 2008 with their teenage son and Veronica’s 20-year-old daughter.

Chinyanga admitted to the murder and was jailed for life. Lord Mulholland, who passed sentence, described the killing as:

“Cowardly, savage and brutal.”

His minimum sentence was reduced from 20 years due to his early guilty plea. His lawyer, Donald Findlay KC, told the court that Chinyanga was “very remorseful”.

HSTv Journalist Blessed Mhlanga Finally Reunited With His Family After 73 Days

The Journalist was finally granted bail yesterday by the High Court. This was his third attempt to get bail since his arrest in February.

Blessed Mhlanga Spends an Extra Day in Remand
After bail was granted, the journalist had to spend an extra day in remand. Reports suggested a clerical error by the High Court. Prison officials could not release the journalist as they cited the court order’s lack of a crime reference number..

As conditions to his bail, Blessed Geza was ordered to report to the CID Law and Order Harare Central police station every Friday and not to interfere with state witnesses.

His lawyer asked the judge to grant the journalist freedom, citing changed circumstances. The lawyer shared that Mhlanga was arrested after Geza called for protests, but people did business without heeding the calls.

These circumstances raised the concern that he would incite violence if he were granted bail. The judge took this into consideration and granted the journalist bail.

Wicknell Chivayo Faces Parliament Probe Over US$100 Million ZEC Tender Scandal

Wicknell Chivayo Faces Parliament Probe Over US$100 Million ZEC Tender Scandal

Flamboyant Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo is facing possible investigation by Parliament after a formal petition was submitted by a Kwekwe-based activist.

The activist, Emmanuel Nkosilathi Moyo, has called on the legislature to invoke its oversight powers to probe alleged money laundering involving Chivayo in the controversial US$100 million Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) tender.

Wicknell Chivayo Faces Parliament Probe
In his petition addressed to Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda, Moyo urged MPs to examine the dealings of Chivayo’s companies, citing concerns over illicit financial activity linked to public funds.

He referenced Sections 119, 298, and 299 of the Constitution, as well as Standing Orders 159(2) of the National Assembly and 149(2) of the Senate, which give Parliament authority to scrutinise the use of public resources.

Central to Moyo’s petition is a report by South Africa’s Financial Intelligence Centre (SAFIC), which raised red flags over potential criminal conduct in the tender deal. The report could not rule out money laundering or other illegal financial activities.

South African Intelligence Report Raises Red Flags
According to SAFIC, Chivayo received a staggering R800 million (about US$40 million) from a total of R1.2 billion (US$66 million) paid to Ren-Form CC, a South African company contracted to supply voting materials for Zimbabwe’s August 2023 general elections.

The report revealed that Chivayo used multiple personal and company accounts to move the funds around rapidly through transfers and cash withdrawals, raising further suspicion. The money moved through major South African banks, including FNB, Standard Bank, and Absa.

Some of the funds were reportedly spent on luxury items, including designe

r clothes, high-end vehicles, electronics, real estate, and international travel.

Moyo said Parliament must investigate how taxpayer money was used and ensure transparency and accountability in government spending. He emphasised that the US$100 million deal was funded by the public purse.

Prospective jurors in Diddy case say they have seen video of him allegedly ass@ulting a woman

Prospective jurors in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ s£.x trafficking trial acknowledged being familiar with allegations against the hip-hop mogul, seeing a video of him allegedly assaulting a woman, and hearing a comedian joke about baby oil that prosecutors say was found in his residences.

In a 26th-floor courtroom in Lower Manhattan, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian questioning 32 prospective jurors one-by-one, a process known as voir dire, in a bid to seat a panel of 12 jurors and six alternates who can be fair and impartial to both sides despite heavy media coverage of the case.

Opening statements are scheduled for May 12.

Subramanian deemed 19 qualified to serve – including two who said they were fans of 1990s hip-hop – and the rest were dismissed. More will be questioned on Tuesday, and jury selection is expected to finish by the end of the week.

The judge’s goal is to choose 45 potential jurors who are qualified to serve, and lawyers for both sides will then have the opportunity to dismiss jurors without stating a reason.

With Combs looking on wearing dark glasses and sporting a salt-and-pepper goatee, one juror said they had seen a video on the news that showed Combs allegedly assaulting someone in a hotel. Subramanian decided that juror, referred to as Juror No. 5, was qualified for the panel after they assured the judge they would be a “blank slate entering this courtroom.”

A prospective juror was dismissed after writing in a screening questionnaire that a still image they had seen below a news headline of a woman on the floor in a hotel hallway and Combs standing near her “could be damning evidence.”

Last year, CNN broadcast surveillance footage of what it said was a 2016 incident in which Combs attacked his former girlfriend, the R&B singer Casandra Ventura, in the hallway of a Los Angeles hotel. Combs apologized after the footage aired.

The jury will be anonymous, which is frequently the case in high-profile trials in which jurors could face threats or harassment if their identities are known.

Prosecutors have said the incident depicted in the hotel surveillance video was evidence of how Combs used force and threats over a two-decade period to coerce women to take part in days-long, drug-fueled sexual performances with male sex workers, which the mogul called “Freak Offs.”

Prosecutors say employees of Combs’ business empire helped the “Freak Offs,” including by booking hotel rooms, buying controlled substances and other items used during sex, and helping him cover up the activity. During raids of Combs’ homes, authorities found drugs and 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant, prosecutors said.

One prospective juror said they had “liked” a video on social media in which a comedian joked about Combs and baby oil.

“I remember liking it because I thought it was funny,” said the juror, who Subramanian decided was qualified after they said they would be able to put the video aside and be impartial.

Combs’ lawyers say the hotel surveillance video depicted a domestic dispute over infidelity and was not evidence of sex trafficking. They are expected to argue that the s£xual activity described by prosecutors was consensual.

If convicted on all counts, Diddy faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison and could face life in prison.

Jay-Z files amended lawsuit against Jane Doe accuser over her fiery TikTok

Jay-Z is intensifying his legal battle against a woman who accused him of rape, despite her decision to drop the lawsuit earlier this year.

The rapper has filed an amended defamation suit, accusing the woman, referred to as Jane Doe, of continuing to publicly stand by her claim through social media posts, which he argues are malicious and false.

According to the updated court filing, Jay-Z cites a TikTok allegedly posted by Doe in April, where she is seen lip-syncing to an audio clip saying, “You couldn’t pay me a million dollars to get an apology video out of me, I stand on what I said, f*** you.” Jay-Z’s legal team argues this post demonstrates a “shocking and reckless disregard for the truth” and underscores her intent to harm his reputation even after withdrawing the lawsuit.

Doe initially filed the case claiming that Jay-Z and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs raped her after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. She later dropped the lawsuit, stating she feared retaliation from the powerful figures named. However, she has consistently refused to retract her allegations.

Jay-Z is also turning his legal focus toward Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee. The revised suit alleges that internet protocol (IP) addresses linked to Buzbee’s law firm were responsible for more than 100 edits on Wikipedia. These edits reportedly enhanced Buzbee’s online profile while attempting to damage Jay-Z’s reputation and that of his entertainment company, Roc Nation.

Buzbee dismissed the accusations as absurd. In a statement, he said, “I’m trying to wrap my head around this creative pleading. As I understand it, the new argument is that someone amending Wikipedia about me harms his reputation? That’s laughable and super weak. I don’t have anything to do with Wikipedia and haven’t looked at it in years.”

The lawsuit marks another chapter in a high-profile and increasingly personal legal feud, with both sides escalating their claims beyond the courtroom and into the public eye.

Diddy’s new lawyer says she is a survivor of s33xual assault

Nicole Westmoreland, the newest addition to Diddy’s legal team, is a survivor of s3xual assault, having been allegedly r@ped in 2001.

At the time, Westmoreland was just 19 years old and worked for a company that helped people reinstate suspended driver’s licenses.

According to Westmoreland, she was introduced to Bryan Williams, vice president of Cash Money Records, and a man named “Stone.” They invited her to make a sales pitch at Patchwerk Recording Studio in Atlanta. One evening, Westmoreland and three female friends attended a gathering at the studio. There, she encountered a man named Alfred Cleveland, a friend of Ronald Williams, the president of Cash Money Records and Bryan’s brother.

Westmoreland says that after she went to use the restroom, Cleveland offered to show her the way but instead forced her inside and r@ped her. She claims that during the assault, another man approached the bathroom door, and Cleveland allegedly instructed him to keep watch while he tried to pass her off to the other man. Westmoreland begged him not to and was eventually allowed to leave.

She later reported the incident to the police, despite threats not to do so. Cleveland was arrested and charged with r@pe, and he ultimately pled guilty to aggravated assault with intent to r@pe.

Meanwhile, Diddy has been facing multiple allegations of s3xual assault and r@pe, with several civil cases pending against him. The second day of jury selection in his federal criminal trial recently concluded, adding another 16 potential jurors, most of whom were men.

Nigerian Govt warns Nigerians against excess salt intake after Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s viral vide

The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has issued a public health advisory cautioning Nigerians against excessive consumption of salt, following a viral video in which Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of Loveworld Incorporated (Christ Embassy), encouraged increased salt intake among his followers.

In the video, which has drawn widespread attention on social media, Oyakhilome claimed that Africans have been “deliberately discouraged” from consuming salt in order to create a dependence on sodium-based medications. “They told you not to take salt so that you can buy their drugs—drugs that contain sodium,” he said during a church service. “Salt is not your enemy.”

In response, the health ministry urged Nigerians to adhere to medically sound dietary advice and warned of the serious health risks associated with indiscriminate salt consumption. A statement signed by Alaba Balogun, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, emphasized the need to counter misinformation that could harm public health.

“The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has observed a widely circulated video in which a respected religious leader discourages Nigerians from heeding medical advice on salt consumption,” the statement read. “While we deeply respect the important role of faith and religious leaders in our society, it is crucial to correct misinformation that poses a risk to public health.”

Balogun acknowledged that while salt contains sodium—an essential mineral for nerve and muscle function—excessive consumption is linked to several non-communicable diseases. “High salt consumption is associated with high blood pressure, heart failure, stroke, and kidney disease, among others,” he warned.

He also cited international dietary guidelines, stating, “The World Health Organisation recommends a maximum of 5 grams of salt per day , roughly one teaspoon, for adults.”

The ministry concluded by urging the public to seek health guidance from certified professionals and to be skeptical of advice not grounded in scientific evidence.

Kenya court fines Belgian teenagers for trying smuggle protected ants

0

A Kenyan court on Wednesday, May 6, fined four individuals, including two Belgian teenagers, more than $7,000 each for attempting to smuggle thousands of live ants out of the country, in a case that has drawn significant public attention over concerns of bio-piracy.

The accused—David Lornoy and Seppe Lodewijckx, both 18 from Belgium, Duh Hung Nguyen of Vietnam, and Dennis Nganga of Kenya, pleaded guilty to possessing the ants but denied any intention to traffic them.

The Belgian teenagers were arrested in Nakuru County with 5,000 queen ants packed in 2,244 tubes. Their co-accused, Duh and Nganga, were found with ants stored in 140 syringes filled with cotton wool and two containers, according to court documents. The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) described the incident as an act of bio-piracy, alleging the suspects planned to export the ants to lucrative exotic pet markets in Europe and Asia.

During sentencing, Senior Magistrate Njeri Thuku drew a stark comparison between the illegal trade in wildlife and historical atrocities. “Imagine being violently removed from your home and packed into a container with many others like you. Then imagine being isolated and squeezed into a tiny space where the only source of nourishment for the foreseeable future is glucose water,” she wrote. “It almost sounds as if the reference above is to slave trade. Yet, it is not slave trade, but it is illegal wildlife trade.”

The court noted that Lornoy was an “ant enthusiast” and a member of a Facebook group called “Ants and Ant Keeping,” maintaining colonies at home in Belgium. He told investigators he was unaware that transporting the ants was against Kenyan law. Among the seized specimens was the rare Messor cephalotes species, with a single queen ant reportedly valued at $99. The total estimated worth of the ants was one million Kenyan shillings, or about $7,740.

While possession of wildlife without a permit in Kenya can result in fines up to $10,000 or at least five years in prison, the court ordered each of the four to pay a fine of one million shillings or serve a year in jail if they failed to do so. The magistrate said the Belgians did not fit the profile of typical poachers but criticized the broader pattern of foreign exploitation of African biodiversity. “This case reflects a script that has been played out before in centuries gone by… of Africa having resources that are plundered by the West and now the East,” she said.

In a statement, the KWS reaffirmed its position, calling the offense not only a wildlife crime but a clear instance of bio-piracy. The suspects, it said, intended to smuggle the ants to high-value exotic pet markets where demand for rare insect species continues to rise.

The Game loses his home to pay s33x assault accuser’s $7million judgement

The Game has been forced to sell his California house to satisfy a $7 million judgment.

According to court documents, a judge approved the sale of his Calabasas mansion to help fund the judgment in the amount of $7,130,100.00 that Priscilla Rainey won against him in November 2018.

“If the proposed sale of the dwelling is likely to produce a bid high enough to satisfy the homestead exemption and any outstanding liens or encumbrances senior to the judgment creditor’s lien while still leaving some amount available to satisfy even a ‘part’ of the judgment creditor’s lien, then the court must grant the application for sale,” the court docs state.

This means that if selling the home would leave any money left over for the person owed money, the court has to allow the sale.

Rainey sued The Game back in 2015 and claimed that he s£xually assaulted her while filming the VH1 show She Got Game.

Instead of fighting it in court, The Game decided not to show up to enough of court dates which resulted in the judge ruling in favor of Rainey.

Last October, The Game was ordered to come to court to justify that his mansion shouldn’t be sold to satisfy the debt. That July, US District Judge Mark C. Scarsi served the rapper and his manager Wack 100 with a notice of levy, writ of execution, alleging that he transferred his deed to his manager so that Rainey wouldn’t be able to get it.

The mansion is currently on the housing market for $4 million, meaning that he’d still owe her $3 million if it gets sold at that price.

The Game has made it clear in the past that he doesn’t plan on paying her anything, regardless of the ruling.

In 2020, The Game criticized Rainey in a post while letting everyone know what he was up to during the pandemic.

“People out here dying from the rona n blogs out here creating false narratives for this Waffle House roach who doing anything her thirsty a## can to try n take money from me,” he wrote. “I’m enjoying retirement !! Y’all been saying she got 7 million for 7 years & yet here I am, laid up tipsy off my 5th quarantine watching Tiger King lol.”

While he was making light of the situation, Rainey was pursuing her legal options. That same year, she was granted ownership of the rapper’s Prolific Records label and also received royalties for his album Born to Rap

Ruben Amorim says Manchester United is the worst team in the Premier League since he arrived

Manchester United coach, Ruben Amorim, has described the club as the worst team in the Premier League since he arrived.

The Portuguese coach was speaking ahead of his team’s second leg of the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao at Old Trafford on Thursday. Man. United already has a commanding 3-0 lead from the first leg.

‘If you look at our team, we cannot say today what is going to happen,’ said Amorim, whose side also conceded four at Brentford on Sunday.

‘Some teams, the story is going to be like this, and control the narrative – we cannot do that.

‘I feel we need to score to go to the next round. Then we use Brentford, we are near a draw, then we suffer a goal, and another one.

‘We will have to suffer a bit to go to the final, and we are ready to suffer. Sometimes during the game we are one team, and then we lose our minds a little bit.

‘If you look at our season, anything is possible. We have to understand one goal can change anything: the momentum of the game, one sending-off, you saw it a week ago. We are fighting to win the game. We are thinking about winning the game.’

United racked up their 16th defeat of the league season, their most for 35 years, at Brentford at the weekend. But they could qualify for the Champions League if they win the Europa League.

Amorim added: ‘For me, in that moment, and you look at Premier League, we are the worst team since I arrived in terms of results. That is my idea. In the end of the season, we can be the worst team in Premier League history with a European title.

So we will not change anything. We know that this season was disappointing.

‘Nothing is going to change, in that moment I have to think a bit more but I felt that. I still feel that this season was the worst in the last 50 years.’

Europe is going to lose confidence in the certainty and leadership of America — Joe Biden

Former U.S. President, Joe Biden has criticized his successor, Donald Trump, accusing him of pressuring Ukraine to surrender territory to Russia, a move Biden described as “modern-day appeasement” that he believes will never satisfy Moscow.

In an interview with the BBC—his first since leaving the White House, Biden said Russian President Vladimir Putin sees Ukraine as part of “mother Russia,” and warned that “anybody who thinks he’s going to stop is just foolish.”

“I just don’t understand how people think that if we allow a dictator, a thug, to take significant portions of land that aren’t his, that it’s going to satisfy him,” Biden said. The interview was aired Wednesday, May 7, but recorded on Monday

Trump has shifted U.S. policy on the Ukraine conflict, urging Kyiv to accept a ceasefire and dialing back pressure on Russia, which launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Trump has said his aim is to stop the bloodshed.

Biden expressed concern over the implications of Trump’s stance for U.S. credibility on the global stage. “Europe is going to lose confidence in the certainty and leadership of America,” he warned.

He said European leaders are now questioning America’s reliability: “They’re wondering, ‘What do I do now? Can I rely on the United States? Will they be there?’”

Reflecting on a tense February meeting at the White House involving Trump, senior U.S. officials, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Biden added, “I found it sort of beneath America—the way that took place.”

18-year-old boy impregnates 10 girls, including his boss’ daughter

The Anambra State Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, disclosed this on facebook, while stating that the matter is beyond her and she needs advice on how to handle it.

18-year-old boy impregnates 10 girls, including his boss

Obinabo explained that the boy was sent to learn a trade from a businessman, but just three months after he arrived, he impregnated his boss’ daughter and the sales girl.

He was sent packing and just two months after he returned to his village in Anambra, he impregnated eight more girls.

Speaking in a live vide, Obinabo said: “I want advice from the public because this one is beyond my capacity.

“This boy was sent to learn trade at the age of 18 and, three months into the apprenticeship, he impregnated his oga’s daughter and his salesgirl. He was sent packing. Two months after that, he impregnated eight others in the village.

“The mother reported the matter to my office, saying anytime she sees a girl coming towards her house nowadays, her heart would jump, and that she needs help.

“This matter is beyond me; that’s the reason I want the public to help me come up with a solution. Is it spiritual?

“I asked the boy the magic he uses in luring the girls to bed, but he told me he always tells them that he loves them and will like to marry them anytime he acquires wealth.”

“This problem is beyond me because of the boy’s age and the number of pregnant girls involved. That’s why I need help to solve it,” she concluded.

Trump suggests Russia should be offered return to next year’s World Cup as ‘incentive’ to end Ukraine war

0

US President, Donald Trump has suggested that Russian participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup could provide an ‘incentive’ for the nation to end the war in Ukraine.

A ban has since been placed on Russia from FIFA and UEFA competitions since February 2022, following its invasion of Ukraine. This suspension affected both national and club teams, including participation in the World Cup and European Championships.

The ban, imposed by FIFA and UEFA, remains in effect until further notice, meaning Russia won’t participate in upcoming tournaments, including the 2026 World Cup

Trump was questioned about the possible participation of Russia at next year’s World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Speaking alongside FIFA president Gianni Infantino at the first meeting of his World Cup taskforce, Trump admitted he was unaware that Russia are banned from the tournament.

‘I didn’t know that, is that right?,’ Trump said, turning towards Infantino, adding ‘He is the boss, I am not the boss on that.’

‘That is right,’ Infantino replied. ‘They are banned for the time being from playing but we hope that something happens and peace will happen so that Russia can be readmitted.’

Trump said: ‘That’s possible. Hey, that could be a good incentive, right?

‘We want to get them to stop. We want them to stop. Five thousand young people a week are being killed, it’s not even believable, the Russian soldiers and Ukrainian soldiers mostly.

‘Horrible things going on over there, we are going to get that war stopped.’

Russia are not currently able to participate in next summer’s tournament, with the nation not part of the qualification process.

Trump calls for quick end to India-Pakistan fighting amid escalating tensions

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday expressed hope that the ongoing hostilities between India and Pakistan would de-escalate swiftly, following Indian missile strikes on targets inside Pakistan.

“They’ve been fighting for many, many decades,” Trump said during a White House event. “I just hope it ends very quickly.”

He added, “People knew something was going to happen based on a little bit of the past.”

India launched the strikes in retaliation for a late April attack in the disputed Kashmir region, which left at least 26 civilians dead. New Delhi claimed the operation targeted militant hideouts responsible for the attack.

Pakistan’s military reported that the Indian strikes killed eight people and injured 33 others. Meanwhile, Indian sources said at least three civilians were killed by Pakistani shelling in Indian-administered Kashmir.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he was closely monitoring the situation between the nuclear-armed neighbors.

“I echo (Trump’s) comments earlier today that this hopefully ends quickly and will continue to engage both Indian and Pakistani leadership towards a peaceful resolution,” Rubio posted on social media platform X.

India and Pakistan have fought three wars since gaining independence in 1947 and have repeatedly come close to a fourth conflict over the contested Kashmir region, which is divided between them and also claimed by China.

Liam Payne left behind £24million fortune after dying without a will

0

Former One Direction singer, Liam Payne, left a staggering £24million fortune after tragically dying without a will.

The 31-year-old British singer left a total of £28,595,000 after he fell to his death from a hotel balcony after a drink and drug binge on October 16 last year, but this was reduced to £24,280,000 after his expenses and debts were paid.

Court documents show that the tragic One Direction star granted the power of administration of his estate to his ex Cheryl Tweedy, the mother of his eight-year-old son Bear.

According to Mail Online, the fortune will be placed in trust for Liam’s son under UK rules of intestacy, where the person’s estate is usually passed to the lawful spouse or their nearest blood relative.

This means that his girlfriend Kate Cassidy could receive nothing, despite her revealing their plans to marry shortly after his death.

Cheryl, 41, was named alongside Richard Bray, a top music lawyer with a track record of representing stars including Ed Sheeran.

The news comes just six months after fans of the Best Song Ever singer were left stunned by his sudden death from a third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Argentina.

His medical cause of death has been confirmed to be ‘polytrauma’, a term which means a person has multiple traumatic injuries to their body.

Five people have been charged over the singer’s death in Argentina after he fell from a third-floor balcony.

The hotel’s manager, a receptionist, and a friend of Payne have been charged with manslaughter, Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office previously said in a statement.

Payne was one of five members of the hit boyband One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan.

The band was formed on Simon Cowell’s The X Factor before becoming an international sensation.

Mali’s ruling military junta suspends all political party activities indefinitely

Mali’s ruling military junta on Wednesday, May 7, announced the indefinite suspension of all political party activities and associations “for reasons of public order,” as opposition groups continue to protest the government’s tightening grip on dissent.

The decree, signed by junta leader General Assimi Goita, was read out on national television and radio. It comes ahead of a planned rally on Friday by opposition parties calling for their reinstatement and a return to constitutional rule in the conflict-stricken Sahel nation.

The suspension applies to all “associations of a political character,” marking another significant restriction on political freedoms in the country, which has been under military rule since two successive coups in 2020 and 2021.

This latest move follows the government’s April 30 decision to repeal a law governing the operation of political parties—an action legal experts say could pave the way for their outright dissolution.

In response, a coalition of around 100 political parties was formed to demand an end to the military-led transition by December 31, 2025, and to press for a clear timetable for the restoration of constitutional governance.

The coalition organised a rare public protest last Saturday in Bamako, drawing several hundred demonstrators—a bold act under a regime that has increasingly suppressed opposition.

Authorities had previously suspended political party activities for three months in 2024, and the new decree signals a deepening crackdown on political dissent.

Woman forced to carry lifeless fetus for weeks due to abortion law speaks

0

Elisabeth Weber, a 31-year-old mother from Greenville, South Carolina, U.S. was denied immediate medical care after discovering her fetus no longer had a heartbeat, due to her state’s strict abortion laws.

For weeks, she was forced to carry the non-viable pregnancy, describing the emotional trauma as feeling like her “womb becomes a tomb.”

Weber, who already has three daughters—Neveah, 8; Story, 5; and Finley, 18 months—and previously lost a son to SIDS in 2018, had been excitedly preparing for the arrival of her next child, whom she and her husband Thomas had named Lorenzo Thomas Weber, or “Enzo.”

However, on March 27, 2025, during a routine check-up at nine weeks pregnant, she was told the fetus had stopped growing three weeks earlier, and no heartbeat could be detected. Despite this, she was instructed to go home and wait for her body to miscarry naturally.

“I was still completely bedridden with nausea, throwing up constantly,” Weber said, noting that she suffers from hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), a condition causing severe pregnancy sickness. “My body was not recognizing that I wasn’t pregnant anymore.”

When she returned to the emergency room days later, desperate for a dilation and curettage (D&C)—a common procedure used to remove tissue from the uterus—she was told she would have to wait due to South Carolina’s abortion ban, commonly referred to as the “heartbeat bill.” The law prohibits abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, once a fetal heartbeat can typically be detected.

“My baby didn’t have a heartbeat, and it still prevented me from getting care,” she said. “I was told, ‘Because of the law, we legally have to wait.’” Even though her pregnancy was non-viable, she was told nothing could be done unless she began hemorrhaging or became septic.

During this traumatic waiting period, Weber posted a video to TikTok from her car that quickly went viral. “My baby is dead. There’s no heartbeat. And now I have to wait another week, knowing my baby is dead to do anything about it,” she said tearfully in the video.

Eventually, a patient advocate helped her find another hospital. Tests revealed she had developed an infection, but she was still denied a D&C because she didn’t meet the legal criteria. She was instead sent home with painkillers.

“I felt like I couldn’t even grieve,” she told PEOPLE. “This loss brought up everything from when I lost my son to SIDS. And on top of that, the financial burden was crushing—neither of us could work, and my husband’s Crohn’s disease flared from the stress.”

When she was finally allowed to undergo the procedure, the word “abortion” appeared on her paperwork. “It broke me,” she said.

Now, Weber is speaking out in hopes of sparking change. “I hope some good comes out of this really terrible situation. This is dangerous for women. This is hurting women.”

With the procedure behind her, she says she’s “finally able to start grieving the loss” of her son. “My little Enzo.”

IMBOELA QUESTIONS SAKWIBA SIKOTA’S AUTHORITY TO EXPEL HER FROM UNITED KWACHA ALLIANCE BUT ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF NEW UKA

By: Sun FM TV Reporter

The Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) President Saboi Imboela has dismissed claims that she has been expelled from the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA), questioning the authority of Alliance Chairperson Sakwiba Sikota to make such a decision.

In a strong social media Facebook post, Ms. Imboela referred to Mr. Sikota as “Grandpa” and challenged the legality of her alleged expulsion, sarcastically asking, “Using which powers?” She further remarked that “people play a lot in this country” and suggested that Mr. Sikota should consider retiring from politics.

Ms Imboela has however announced that together with other political parties they are set to launch New UKA leaving the Old one for old people.

Soldiers now receive 100% of their allowances upon completing peacekeeping missions, as opposed to the 50% which they were being paid by PF regime

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA LOOKS FORWARD TO CONSTRUCTIVE ENGAGEMENT WITH HIS OPPONENTS on solid alternative solutions.

Wednesday 7th May 2025

President Hakainde Hichilema welcomes constructive debate with opposition leaders but emphasises the need for substantive, solution-oriented proposals. Rather than engaging in unproductive rhetoric, the President invites his opponents to present clear and viable alternatives to his administration’s policies and achievements.

For instance, the Head of State has noted that the mining sector which was once shuttered under the previous leadership, has been revitalized, restored employment and significantly contributing to economic development. President Hichilema is challenging the opposition leaders to propose specific strategies to sustain or enhance this progress.

President Hichilema has exponentially increased the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) from K1.6 million to K36 million annually per constituency, with equitable and predictable disbursements nationwide. He is wondering what alternative approaches the critics are offering to improve local development and participation of communities in activities affecting their livelihoods.

As per the campaign pledge, President Hichilema has reintroduced free education, which has so far resulted into over two million pupil accessing education.

The bursary loans scheme has been enhanced while the meal allowances for students, which were scrapped by the PF administration have been restored. The Republican President has noted that the PF has already stated that they are going to scrap free education and meal allowances.

The President has urged the citizens to judge for themselves whether or not scrapping free education and meals allowances for students are better alternatives to what is currently being done.

Further, the hiring of thousands of teachers, which was frozen for a long time, is routinely and transparently being done under President Hichilema’s Administration, which is a marked significant development.

The President is challenging the opposition leaders to articulate their plans, and explicitly state whether or not they reverse these gains and offer alternative solutions.

From day one of his inauguration, President Hichilema set restructuring of the unsustainable debt, which had an overwhelming stranglehold on the economy due to reckless borrowing as his first priority and has successfully resolved it as evidenced by the recent confirmation and visit of the IMF Deputy President to Zambia.

Critics must clarify whether they would undo this progress and outline their alternative fiscal strategies. In healthcare and security, unprecedented recruitment of workers has strengthened public services. Would opponents roll back these efforts, and what are their proposed solutions?

Agricultural reforms, including higher crop prices and timely payments to farmers, have bolstered rural economies. The opposition is urged to present alternative policies to support farmers. Infrastructure projects, like the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway, are advancing at half the cost previously projected. Would critics cancel these contracts, and how would they address Zambia’s infrastructure needs?

President Hichilema also highlights improved welfare for peacekeeping soldiers, who now receive 100% of their allowances upon completing missions, as opposed to the 50% which they were being paid in the past. What changes would the opposition make to this policy? Are they going to reverse the increment?

On climate change, the President’s investments in alternative energy and water harvesting aim for sustainable, year-round agriculture. Opposition leaders are invited to share their distinct approaches to these pressing challenges.

The President calls on Zambians to critically evaluate opposition proposals, focusing on their feasibility and benefits. He advocates for respectful, policy-driven discourse, free from insults and hate speech, to empower citizens to make informed choices about the nation’s future.

Malema denied UK visa, slams decision as “spineless” and politically motivated

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has accused British authorities of political suppression after he was denied a visa to attend a conference in Cambridge, England.

Malema said the refusal, delivered just hours before his planned departure from OR Tambo International Airport, was both “unacceptable and spineless.”

Despite prior assurances that the visa issue would be resolved, Malema received a rejection letter without a clear explanation.

The EFF swiftly condemned the move, claiming it undermines academic freedom and reflects broader efforts to silence dissenting political voices.

STAGING DEFECTIONS WON’T WIN YOU 2026, COPPERBELT SP WARNS UPND

STAGING DEFECTIONS WON’T WIN YOU 2026, COPPERBELT SP WARNS UPND

Mufulira… Wednesday May 7, 2025 – Socialist Party (SP) Copperbelt Provincial Vice Chairperson Reagan Kashinga has condemned the ruling UPND for engaging in political theatrics through stage-managed defections, warning that such outdated tactics won’t save them from losing public support ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Last weekend, the UPND claimed that thousands of people had defected from various opposition parties to join its ranks in Ndola.

But Kashinga says this is not only misleading, it’s an insult to the intelligence of Zambians.

“We are witnessing a disturbing trend where the UPND is recycling the same group of individuals, parading them as defectors in town after town,” Mr Kashinga charged.

“They did it in Mufulira, then Kalulushi, Lufwanyama, and now Ndola. This is not how you win the hearts of the people in the digital age. The UPND is panicking because they know they’ve lost touch with reality.”

He said that while the UPND is busy fabricating political gains, Zambians are grappling with real issues like persistent load shedding, unaffordable mealie meal, and skyrocketing fuel and electricity costs.

“If UPND wants to win elections, they should deliver on their promises. Reduce the cost of living, fix the energy crisis, and put the mines back to work. So far, they’ve failed on all fronts,” said Mr Kashinga.

He also took a swipe at the government’s narrative on the mining sector.

“They claimed to have unlocked KCM and Mopani, but go to Wusakile, Nchanga, Kakoso, or Kankoyo — there’s nothing to show for it. People are still waiting for jobs and improved livelihoods. This so-called unlocking is just another political slogan,” Kashinga said.

He concluded with a stern warning: “With or without fake defections, UPND kuya bebele in 2026.”

IT  NOW FEELS LIKE WE HAVE BEEN IN OFFICE FOR 10 YEARS – SIKUMBA

IT  NOW FEELS LIKE WE HAVE BEEN IN OFFICE FOR 10 YEARS – SIKUMBA

FOR some of us who have been in these offices feel as though we have been in office for the last 10 years because of the amount of work we have done, says Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba.

And Sikumba says being a politician, he is insulted every day, but this is a life he chose, but quickly added that with the new Cyber Security laws he might not be insulted again.

Speaking when he commissioned the main CBD Taxi Rank in Livingstone, Friday, Sikumba said for a long time CDF funds had been held in Lusaka, but President Hakainde Hichilema directed them to districts and wards.

He added that he listened to and paid attention to the sentiments and complaints.

IMF has never delivered success anywhere- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

By Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

IMF has never delivered success anywhere

International Monetary Fund (IMF) Deputy Managing Director, Dr. Nigel Clarke, is in Zambia on a 3-day working visit to discuss progress made under the Fund supported programmes, and the debt restructuring exercise.

In the last 3 years, the IMF approved an Extended Credit Facility (ECF) for Zambia in 2022, providing a $1.3 billion loan program over 38 months.

To address the country’s drought and continued economic challenges, the IMF provided an increased as an augmentation of access under the ECF, bringing the total funding to $1.7 billion.

IMF’s driven liberal programs and forced privatisation program of state-owned enterprises in the 90s are behind Zambia’s de-industralisation and rapid fall into high poverty levels and high unemployment rates.

The IMF has been criticized for its loan conditions, interventions, and structure.

The  IMF loans and policies cause the following harm:

1. Create dependency
The IMF’s safety net encourages reckless economic policies and delays reforms, creating long-term dependency.

2. Harm the poor
Austere loan conditions and uniform policy prescriptions deepen financial crises and disproportionately hurt the poorest people.

3. Damage economies

IMF interventions in impoverished countries are overly ambitious and intrusive, and loan conditions are out of touch with reality.
Rescue bad investments
The IMF rescues international bankers who make bad loans, encouraging riskier investments.

4. Lack accountability
The IMF is immune from legal action, and its opaque investments make it difficult for communities to hold it accountable. The damage done to the economy in the 90s by their Structural Adjustment Program can never be atoned.

Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) were a set of economic policies implemented by the IMF and the World Bank to address economic crises in developing countries had negative impacts on social welfare and undermined national sovereignty. The programs increased poverty, decreased economic stability, and negative failure to achieve long-term economic growth.

5. Act as gatekeepers
The IMF, with member states help create and choose NGOs to act as echo chambers to manifacture purported public consesus.

6. Promotes  Neo-liberalism

The IMF has imposed neoliberal policies like privatization and free markets on developing countries without recourse to local conditions and state of economies.
