High-Value U.S. Missile Defense Radar Hit in Saudi Arabia, THAAD Capability Potentially Degraded

High-Value U.S. Missile Defense Radar Hit in Saudi Arabia, THAAD Capability Potentially Degraded

New satellite imagery has confirmed damage to a critical U.S. missile defense asset at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, raising concerns over the effectiveness of regional air defense coverage.

According to recent analysis, the AN/TPY-2 radar system, a core component of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense THAAD system, was struck earlier in March. High-resolution images show extensive damage at the radar site, including a burned-out shelter that previously housed key support systems such as generators and control units.

The radar array itself appears to have suffered significant structural damage, with visible burn marks and indications that parts of the system may be beyond repair. Analysts suggest the relatively limited blast pattern indicates the strike was likely carried out using a precision drone rather than a larger missile.

The AN/TPY-2 radar is a highly advanced X-band system responsible for detecting, tracking, and guiding intercepts against ballistic missile threats. It plays a central role in enabling THAAD batteries to function effectively, with detection ranges reportedly exceeding 1,000 kilometers. Its loss or degradation could significantly reduce early warning and interception capability in the region.

With an estimated value ranging between 500 million to 1 billion dollars and only around 20 units produced, the system is considered one of the most critical and scarce assets in the U.S. missile defense network.

The impact of the strike may extend beyond the radar itself. Reports indicate that following the degradation of air defense sensors, additional attacks targeted high-value aircraft at the same base, including E-3G Sentry airborne warning aircraft and KC-135 refueling tankers. This suggests a coordinated strategy aimed at first weakening detection capabilities before striking exposed aviation assets.

Analysts assess that disabling or damaging the radar could have temporarily reduced the effectiveness of the THAAD system deployed at the base, potentially creating a vulnerability window for subsequent strikes.

The incident appears to be part of a broader pattern of attacks targeting U.S. and allied radar and early warning infrastructure across the Middle East, indicating a strategic focus on degrading air and missile defense networks rather than direct large-scale destruction.

Iran Launches Tactical Missile Strike on Bahrain’s BAPCO Refinery

Iran Launches Tactical Missile Strike on Bahrain’s BAPCO Refinery

Iran has reportedly fired a short-range tactical missile targeting the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) oil refinery in Bahrain.

Initial reports indicate that the strike hit a critical energy facility, raising concerns over potential disruption to regional oil supply. The extent of damage and any casualties remain unclear at this stage.

There has been no immediate official confirmation from Bahraini authorities. If verified, the incident would mark a significant escalation, expanding the conflict into Gulf energy infrastructure and heightening risks to global markets.

EXPLOSIVE RESCUE, US Blows Up Own Planes in Daring Iran Extraction

UPDATE: EXPLOSIVE RESCUE, US Blows Up Own Planes in Daring Iran Extraction

A senior US military official has described the high-risk mission inside Iran as one of the most complex special operations in American history and the details are nothing short of astonishing.

After recovering a downed F-15E weapons systems officer, two US transport aircraft reportedly became stranded at a remote desert base.

In a dramatic twist, commanders dispatched three additional planes to complete the extraction before destroying the disabled aircraft on the ground to stop them falling into enemy hands.

The downed jet came down in a region known for resistance to Tehran’s rule, with reports suggesting local civilians may have risked their lives to shelter the American airman. Sources say Central Intelligence Agency protocols for “unconventional assisted recovery” could have played a role.

After 48 hours evading capture, a firefight, and a daring escape, the operation is already being called one for the history books.

Russia bans ‘Satanist movements’ across the country

Russia bans ‘Satanist movements’ across the country

Russia has moved to ban what it describes as a “Satanist movements”, after the country’s Supreme Court classified it as an extremist organization.

The ruling means:

Any involvement can lead to criminal charges

Authorities can freeze assets and shut down activities

Support or promotion may be prosecuted

Russian officials argue the movement promotes violence, religious hatred, and extremist ideology.

However, critics say the definition is vague and could be applied broadly, potentially targeting individuals over symbols, beliefs, or online expression.

The decision is part of a wider pattern in Russia of labeling groups as extremist under national security laws

Block me, Chile One tells off critics to stop listening to his music

Block me, Chile One tells off critics to stop listening to his music

BLOCK me, stop listening to my music, stop coming to my shows, singer Obed Chileshe popularly known as Chile One has fired back at his followers and fans who have been mocking him and telling him to start taking care of himself.

Last Friday, Chile One became social media’s favourite topic after he showed up at the artistic send-off of Chiko Wise at Lusaka Playhouse in dusty footwear, a moment that quickly went viral and attracted ridicule from fans.

While some followers claimed they were simply advising him to take better care of himself, others turned the moment into a roasting session as they picked apart everything from his footwear to his general appearance.

This comes barely two weeks after the singer was pressured into trimming his hair and beard following backlash from a photo he took with President Hakainde Hichilema after performing at the Youth Day celebrations in Solwezi, where he appeared with a scruffy look.

But this time, instead of quietly fixing things, the ‘Fwebaku chaume’ hit maker who appeared agitated, decided to clap back with some F words.

Going live on Facebook on Saturday, the artiste made it clear that he knows exactly who he is and does not need validation from online critics.

“I know who I am, I believe in myself, one day I’m gonna win and I will tell you my story,” he said.

“As long as I don’t know you, I don’t care about what you say. You are roasting me but you’re giving me engagement and making my business stronger,” he said.

The singer explained that while people think they are embarrassing him, they are actually helping him grow his brand and attract opportunities.

“My interest is making money. You’re commenting on my post with your K2,000 worth of a phone while I’m using a phone worth K80,000,” Chile One boasted.

However, some stubborn users still insist that fans have a right to advise public figures, while others backed him.

Iran Releases Images of Destroyed U.S. C-130 Aircraft in Southern Isfahan

Iran Releases Images of Destroyed U.S. C-130 Aircraft in Southern Isfahan

Iranian media have released images showing the wreckage of two C-130 Hercules scattered across a wide area in southern Isfahan.

An IRGC spokesperson claims the aircraft were shot down by Iranian forces.

However, U.S. reports state the aircraft were deliberately destroyed by American personnel after mechanical failure left them immobilized in muddy terrain during a rescue mission for a downed F-15E Strike Eagle, in order to prevent sensitive technology from being captured.

Additionally, debris believed to be from a MH-6 Little Bird has reportedly been found near the crash site.

There has been no official confirmation from U.S. authorities.

NASA needs a PLUMBER!  $23 Million Space Toilet Fails Again on Artemis II

NASA needs a PLUMBER!  $23 Million Space Toilet Fails Again on Artemis II

NASA’s much-hyped Artemis II mission to the Moon is off to a stinky start. Just hours after launch, the four astronauts reported a horrible smell pouring from their fancy new toilet on the Orion spacecraft.

The $23 million Universal Waste Management System — billed as a breakthrough for deep-space hygiene — suffered a controller and fan glitch right out of the gate. Solid waste still worked, but the odor control system tanked, forcing ground teams in Houston to scramble for a fix while the crew dealt with the stench in zero gravity.

This isn’t the first hiccup for the high-tech commode. It had issues shortly after liftoff that were supposedly patched, yet the smell complaints keep coming on this 10-day lunar flyby.

Billions poured into returning Americans to the Moon, and the headline problem is a broken bathroom 400,000 miles from the nearest plumber.

Trump Personally Directed High-Stakes Rescue Mission for Missing American Airman in Iran

Trump Personally Directed High-Stakes Rescue Mission for Missing American Airman in Iran

President Donald Trump personally directed a daring US military operation to locate and extract both crew members after Iranian forces shot down an F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet deep inside enemy territory Thursday night.

The Weapons Systems Officer ejected with the pilot, used his SERE training to evade capture, hiked away from the wreckage, hid on an elevated ridge, and activated an emergency beacon. One crew member was quickly rescued. Fox News now confirms the second crew member — the Weapons Systems Officer — has also been rescued and extracted from behind enemy lines. He and the entire rescue team are safely out of Iran.

US Special Operations forces, including Air Force Pararescuemen (PJs) and layered elite units from multiple branches, executed a complex, high-risk combat search-and-rescue mission. They not only found the airman but held off Iranian IRGC and Basij forces hunting him. Ground fighting erupted, leaving injured and dead Iranian personnel, but no Americans were killed.

An A-10 Warthog providing cover for the rescue teams took fire, crashed in Kuwait, and its pilot safely ejected and was recovered. Two rescue helicopters were hit by enemy fire, injuring crew members on board, yet they still made it out of Iran.

The F-15E was destroyed on impact, and sensitive equipment on the lost aircraft was accounted for as part of the intense operation.

US Special Forces Rescue Second F-15 Pilot Found Alive After Brutal Firefight with Iran

US F-15E CREW SAFELY RESCUED AFTER BEING SHOT DOWN OVER IRAN

Two American airmen from a downed US F-15E Strike Eagle are back in safe hands after a daring rescue operation deep inside southwest Iran.

Fox News national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin reported both the pilot and weapons systems officer evaded Iranian forces and were successfully extracted. The second crew member used his SERE training to dodge capture while enemy troops hunted him

From Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin:

Fox News can confirm that the 2nd crew member of the downed F15E fighter jet has been rescued and he and the members of the rescue team that extracted him from behind enemy lines in Iran are all safely out of Iran. That according to two senior US officials and multiple well placed sources in the region. The Weapons Systems Officer ejected along with the pilot when their F15E Strike Eagle they were flying was struck Thursday night (early Friday local time) in southwest Iran.

The WSO used the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) training to evade capture, hiding on an elevated ridge after hiking away from the wreckage and putting out an emergency beacon.) US Special Operations rescue forces to include PJs (United States Air Force Pararescuemen (PJs) and many layers of elite rescue forces took part in the complex, layered mission to both find the crew member and also keep the Iranian forces who were hunting the American weapons system operator at bay.

There are videos that have appeared from local eyewitnesses that show what appear to have been  injured and dead Iranian members of the IRGC and Basij who were looking for the downed American crew member.

Fox has learned there was fighting on the ground but no Americans killed during the operation. “It was a very complex operation to retrieve the downed service member,” a well placed source briefed on the operation told me. Many different branches of the US military were involved in the rescue.

Fox News can confirm the A10 Warthog that crashed Friday was involved in providing cover for the rescue teams searching for the pilot. That A10 crashed in Kuwait (first reported by ABC Friday) but the A10 pilot managed to eject safely and was rescued. There was destruction of aircraft which have sensitive equipment on board, I am told, all part of this complex CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue) mission.

The F15E was pretty much destroyed on impact. Two rescue helicopters were hit by enemy fire on  Friday and crew members onboard were injured by enemy fire but managed to make it out of Iran.

There were a lot of elements to this rescue, I am told.

World’s Oldest President, Paul Biya,  93, Moves to Secure Succession with Vice-President Role

World’s Oldest President, Paul Biya,  93, Moves to Secure Succession with Vice-President Role

Cameroon’s long-serving leader is set to appoint a vice-president for the first time in his 43-year rule after parliament passed controversial constitutional changes.

Under the amendment, the vice-president—appointed by Biya—will automatically take over and complete the term if the president dies or becomes incapacitated. Previously, the Senate president would act only temporarily before fresh elections.

Opposition figures, including Maurice Kamto, slammed the move as a power grab, while the Social Democratic Front boycotted the vote, arguing the role should be elected.

Supporters say the change ensures continuity. Critics argue it consolidates power as uncertainty grows over Biya’s succession.

HARRY KALABA IS WINNING THIS YEAR’S PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, I NEVER MISS MY PROPHECY- MAXWELL CHUNGU

MR CHUNGU-  HARRY KALABA IS WINNING THIS YEAR’S PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, I NEVER MISS MY PROPHECY.

BY ECL TV

CONVERTED “SAUL” SEES THE FUTURE, PREDICTS THE KALABA PRESIDENCY IN AUGUST THIS YEAR

It was not my wish nor because of money or materials, but God directed me to support President Harry Kalaba and being a humble servant of God that I am even though most people won’t believe i chose to abide.

It’s strange to see that many people don’t have spiritual eyes to see what we see in the spiritual realm and iam  never surprised to see people doubt miracles in waiting.

If it was about money, material things , business or employment perhaps i would be comfortable to join upnd and live happily with my family.

As a servant of God we go through trials and tribulations before we register Gods presence a route that i have come to accept no matter the pain and sacrifices it comes with because i did not choose to become Gods messenger but a rare gift that can only be understood by those who are spiritually strong.

I don’t need any appointment in cabinet or government when President Harry Kalaba forms government , mine is to ensure that God’s will is done and that is to keep the faith and trust in God, push, protect and make sure that prophecy is fulfilled until President Harry Kalaba ascends to the throne of presidency.

Others may wonder why max is claiming to be a servant of God looking at his past history, well the answer is simple God works in mysterious ways with a tendency of using the least expected people in the society to convey his message ( The case of Saul before he became Paul ).

Zambia has constantly been bleeding from political vengeance, revenge, hatred, divisions, oppression, suppression and injustices that’s why God preordained President Harry Kalaba to bring the face of God to Zambian politics, unite the country , end divisions , hatred, vengeance, revenge, injustices, oppression, suppression above all heal the nation.

THE COWARDICE OF BUCK-PASSING: DR. NGAMBI’S DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO SHIPWRECK GIVEN LUBINDA

THE COWARDICE OF BUCK-PASSING: DR. NGAMBI’S DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO SHIPWRECK GIVEN LUBINDA

Lusaka- April 4, 2026

It is a dark day for political integrity when the Chairperson of a party Electoral Commission—the very man who just yesterday swore by the “legitimacy” of Makebi Zulu’s presidency—now attempts to flee the scene of the crime by dumping the baggage of the “No-Name” convention at the doorstep of Hon. Given Lubinda.

Dr. Frank Ngambi’s latest statement is not just an admission of administrative failure; it is a blatant act of political betrayal. I wish to address his “fundamental principles” with the harsh light of reality.

1. The “Sub-Committee” Trap

Dr. Ngambi claims his committee is merely a “sub-committee” of the Central Committee and therefore bears no responsibility for the “financing modalities.” This is a hollow defense. If you are the Chairperson of Elections, you are the custodian of the process. You cannot certify the output (the result) while claiming ignorance of the input (the money and logistics). If the financing was opaque or the process compromised, your “verification” of the results is worth less than the paper it is written on.

2. Passing the Poisoned Chalice to Given Lubinda

By directing all inquiries to the “former president who presided over the party leadership” (Hon. Given Lubinda), Dr. Ngambi is attempting to insulate himself from the legal firestorm currently brewing.

3. If the Process was “Unanimous,” Why the Silence?

Dr. Ngambi claims the Central Committee “unanimously approved” the process. If that were true, why are heavyweight members like Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, Dr. Chishimba Kambwili, and Greyford Monde—all members of that same ecosystem—petitioning against the outcome? You cannot have “unanimous approval” of a process that ends in a mass revolt by the candidates.

4. Exposing the Motive

Why is Dr. Ngambi doing this now?

To Shield Himself: He is terrified of the financial audit and the legal repercussions of the March 21 “virtual” sham.
To Undermine Lubinda: Having used Lubinda’s leadership to provide a platform for Makebi Zulu, Ngambi is now discarding Lubinda like a used tool. He wants the “President” he helped install (Zulu) to start with a clean slate by blaming all the “dirt” of the convention on the outgoing Acting President.

A Captain Deserts the Ship: Dr. Ngambi, you cannot have it both ways. You cannot be the “Independent” arbiter when it suits your narrative of a Makebi Zulu victory, and then become a “clueless subordinate” when questions of money and legality arise.

If the “No-Name” convention was a success, take the credit. If it was a sham, take the blame. But do not think the Zambian people are too blind to see you attempting to throw Given Lubinda under the bus to save your own skin. You oversaw the process; you signed the declaration; you own the mess.

DAREDEVIL RESCUE IN IRAN: Missing F-15E Crew Member Pulled Out Alive After ‘Massive Firefight’”

HAPPENING NOW: DAREDEVIL RESCUE IN IRAN: Missing F-15E Crew Member Pulled Out Alive After ‘Massive Firefight’”

In a dramatic twist to a high-stakes military crisis, credible reports now  that the missing F-15E weapons systems officer has been recovered alive deep inside Iran.

According to former Green Beret and national security journalist Jack Murphy, the downed crew member had been evading capture on the ground before elite rescue forces reached their position. What followed, he reports, was nothing short of explosive a “massive firefight” erupting at the extraction site as U.S. special operators battled to secure the rescue.

If confirmed, the operation marks a bold and dangerous incursion, with American forces allegedly fighting their way into hostile territory to bring their personnel home.

The daring mission is already being described as one of the most dramatic combat rescues in years possibly decades highlighting the extraordinary lengths taken to recover one of their own.

Iran Deploys Suspected Russian S-500 Air Defense System as US Jets Take Hits in Epic Fury

Iran Deploys Suspected Russian S-500 Air Defense System as US Jets Take Hits in Epic Fury

Iran rolled out a new advanced air defense system on April 3, 2026, just days into intensified fighting under Operation Epic Fury. Tehran’s military command boasted it used the system Friday and vowed full control of Iranian skies.

Preliminary reports point to Russia’s cutting-edge S-500 Prometheus, a high-altitude missile killer designed to take down advanced aircraft, ballistic missiles, and even hypersonic threats. If confirmed, this marks a dangerous escalation, with Moscow directly arming the regime America and Israel are hammering from the air.

US Air Force losses spiked in the past 24 hours amid the campaign to dismantle Iran’s terror infrastructure. The operation, launched in late February, has already delivered thousands of strikes on Iranian air defenses, missile sites, command centers, and weapons factories. American and Israeli forces have flown over 13,000 combat sorties while pounding the regime’s capabilities.

Yet Iran keeps firing back with missiles and drones, scoring some painful blows on US assets despite the overwhelming firepower. This latest system could complicate efforts to secure total air dominance and protect coalition pilots and bases

The report remains unverified by independent sources and relies on Iranian claims plus open-source speculation. Russia has long supplied Iran with weapons, but the S-500 is among its most prized and limited platforms. If Moscow slipped one through, it signals Putin’s willingness to bleed American forces while the US focuses on neutralizing the Iranian threat.

Reports suggest the safe rescue of the F-15E Weapons Systems Officer by American special operations forces after his jet was shot down over Iran.

Breaking reports suggest the safe rescue of the F-15E Weapons Systems Officer by American special operations forces after his jet was shot down over Iran.

Rep. Elise Stefanik captured the moment perfectly: “The breaking reports of the safe rescue of the F-15 WSO are a profound relief to every American. God Bless this brave servicemember who evaded capture in the most challenging circumstances and God Bless the special operations forces who put their lives on the line for this dangerous rescue mission.”

She added: “It is a deeply engrained patriotic value that Americans will go to the ends of the earth (and beyond!) and do whatever it takes including risking it all to bring their fellow Americans home. Happy Easter, indeed.”

Iran’s central military command has rejected a 48-hour ultimatum from  Trump

TEHRAN — Iran’s central military command has rejected a 48-hour ultimatum from U.S. President Donald Trump, dismissing his threat to destroy the country’s vital infrastructure if Tehran does not agree to a peace deal.

The strong rebuke was delivered by General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi in a statement issued from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters. General Aliabadi characterized the American president’s ultimatum as “a helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid action.”

The diplomatic exchange follows a recent post by Trump on the social media platform Truth Social, in which he demanded that Tehran immediately reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz or accept a negotiated deal.

“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT,” Trump wrote. “Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD.”

In response to the 48-hour deadline and the specific rhetoric used by the U.S. president, the Iranian military issued a direct counter-warning.

Addressing Trump’s threat that “all Hell” would reign down on Iran, General Aliabadi stated: “The simple meaning of this message is that the gates of hell will open for you.”

Neither side has detailed what specific military or diplomatic actions will follow once the 48-hour window expires. – Zimbo LIVE London

U.S. Faces Critical Shortage of JASSM-ER Missiles After Heavy Use in Middle East Conflict

U.S. Faces Critical Shortage of JASSM-ER Missiles After Heavy Use in Middle East Conflict

The United States is reportedly facing a growing shortage of its advanced long-range strike missile, the AGM-158 JASSM-ER, following intensive use in ongoing military operations across the Middle East.

The JASSM-ER is a key strategic asset, designed with stealth characteristics to evade radar and strike heavily defended ground targets from distances of up to 925 kilometers. Each missile is valued at approximately $2.4 million, making it both highly effective and costly.

According to recent assessments, U.S. forces have expended more than 1,000 units within the first month of the conflict. This has significantly reduced stockpiles from an estimated 2,300 missiles before the war to roughly 425 remaining—raising concerns over long-term readiness.

The rapid depletion is placing pressure on global force planning, particularly in regions like the Indo-Pacific, where such weapons are critical for deterrence. Replenishment remains a major challenge, as Lockheed Martin, the primary manufacturer, is currently capable of producing only around 500 to 600 units per year.

Military analysts suggest the high consumption rate reflects the need to overcome advanced and layered air defense systems, requiring the use of precision, low-observable weapons in the early phases of operations.

The situation is now sparking debate in Washington over munitions sustainability and the risks of simultaneous conflicts, as rebuilding stockpiles to safe levels could take several years.

Zimbabwe Hikes Fuel Prices Again As Petrol Hits US$2.23, Diesel US$2.11

Zimbabwe Hikes Fuel Prices Again As Neighbours Cut Taxes: Petrol US$2.23, Diesel US$2.11
Zimbabwean motorists will now pay more at the pump after fuel prices were increased again, with petrol rising to US$2.23 (approximately R41.35) per litre and diesel climbing to US$2.11 (approximately R39.15), effective 2 April 2026, even as neighbouring countries introduced tax cuts to cushion consumers.

The latest adjustment was announced by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) on 2 April 2026, with authorities citing rising global fuel costs and supply pressures. The increase comes just days after Zambia, Namibia and South Africa moved in the opposite direction by reducing fuel taxes to protect motorists from escalating global oil prices.

Cost Pressures Force New Fuel Hike
Introducing the new prices, ZERA confirmed that rising global costs were behind the latest increase.

“Please be advised of the petroleum prices effective 2 April 2026 as follows: Diesel (50) US$2.11 per litre and Blend (E5) petrol US$2.23 per litre.”

Authorities also stressed that fuel supply remains stable despite the increase.

“The Government, through ZERA, continues to monitor the security of supply of petroleum products in the market… there are enough stocks of petroleum products in the supply chain… with more than three months’ supply cover.”

ZERA also highlighted global pressures affecting fuel prices.

“Since the last price review, FOB price for diesel has gone up by 33.16%, and for petrol by 5.96%.”

Officials added that supply routes are being diversified due to global tensions.

“Working with oil traders, the Government is opening up supply routes not affected by the current conflict in the Middle East.”

Authorities said price reviews would continue regularly.

“While Government ensures security of fuel supply, ZERA notices that the cost pressures are piling up, and these require that prices be reviewed for two weeks to avoid fuel shortages and arbitrage.”

Diesel Would Have Hit US$2.65 Without Government Intervention
Authorities revealed that diesel prices could have been significantly higher without intervention.

“Government will endeavour to keep the price of diesel lower than what it ought to be. Without Government intervention, the price of diesel would have been US$2.65 per litre.”

This means diesel users are paying about US$0.54 less (approximately R10.00) than the potential market price.

ZERA also confirmed that government removed taxes to cushion key industries.

“Government has removed all taxes and levies on diesel.”

Authorities said the move aims to protect mining, agriculture, haulage and passenger transport sectors from sharp cost increases.

There was also a possible relief signal for petrol users.

“The price of petrol is expected to decrease in the next review as it coincides with commencement of ethanol production.”

Officials added:

“Increasing the blending mandate to E20 contains the petrol price by around 18 cents.”

The government also approved additional supply routes.

“Government has… approved the importation of diesel by road, in addition to pipeline and rail.”

Authorities also confirmed that Petrotrade and National Oil Infrastructure Company of Zimbabwe (NOIC) will help ensure fuel availability across the country, including remote areas.

Regional Countries Move To Shield Motorists
The increase comes as neighbouring countries introduced relief measures.

Zambia introduced tax cuts on 31 March 2026, with petrol at about US$1.42 (approximately R26.35) and diesel at US$1.56 (approximately R28.95).

The Zambia Energy Regulation Board (ERB) stated:

“Government has resolved to intervene by temporarily suspending Excise Duty and Zero Rating of Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel for a period of three months, from April to June 2026.”

Namibia also introduced fuel levy reductions from 1 April 2026.

“Cabinet has resolved to reduce fuel levies by 50% for three months to mitigate the impact on consumers.”

South Africa also announced relief measures on 31 March 2026, reducing the general fuel levy temporarily.

Authorities said the intervention would cost about R6 billion (approximately US$324 million).

These regional interventions place Zimbabwe’s new fuel prices among the highest in the region.

Zimbabwe petrol now stands at US$2.23 from US$2.17 while diesel is US$2.11 from US$2.05.

Ibrahim Traoré Tells Burkina Faso to “Forget Democracy”

Ibrahim Traoré Tells Burkina Faso to “Forget Democracy”

Burkina Faso leader Ibrahim Traoré has told citizens to “forget democracy,” arguing it is unsuitable for Burkina Faso and can be harmful if imposed.

Speaking on state television, Traoré said the country is not focused on elections and should instead prioritise rebuilding the state. His comments come months after his junta dissolved all political parties in January 2026 and transferred their assets to the state.

The 36-year-old leader, who took power in a 2022 coup, has repeatedly delayed elections while extending military rule, citing ongoing jihadist violence.

Critics say the latest remarks and actions point to a deepening authoritarian shift, while supporters argue the focus should remain on security and stability.

White House Scrambles to Deny Trump Health Crisis Rumors

BREAKING: White House Scrambles to Deny Trump Health Crisis Rumors

The Trump administration found itself on defense Saturday after a wave of social media speculation exploded over the president’s whereabouts, with rumors swirling that the 79-year-old had been rushed to Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda.

The chatter was fueled by something simple: nobody had seen Trump in days.

The White House rapid response account fired back on X, dismissing the speculation as the work of “deranged liberals” and insisting the president “never stops working.”

Communications director Steven Cheung offered his own rebuttal, posting that Trump had been “working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office” over the Easter weekend, though neither addressed the hospitalization rumors directly.

To bolster the claim, the rapid response team reposted a CBS News report noting that a Marine sentry had been spotted outside the West Wing, a signal that typically indicates the president is on the premises.

Trump himself was active on Truth Social, firing off nine posts throughout the day ranging from attacks on the New York Times to boasting about approval ratings from a CPAC-conducted poll. He also claimed that Iranian military leaders had been “terminated” in a massive strike on Tehran.

What he did not mention: two American aircraft shot down by Iranian forces, triggering an active search for a missing U.S. airman. Those losses directly contradict his earlier national address claiming the U.S. had fully “decimated” Iran. Trump also broke from his well-known weekend routine of hitting the golf course, an absence that only deepened public suspicion.

The White House did not respond to questions about either Trump’s public disappearance or the downed jets.

US Depletes Key Stealth Missile Stockpile Amid Intensive Iran War Operations

US Depletes Key Stealth Missile Stockpile Amid Intensive Iran War Operations

The United States has deployed a significant portion of its long-range AGM-158 JASSM-ER stealth cruise missiles in ongoing operations related to the Iran conflict, drawing from global stockpiles to sustain strike capabilities.

According to reports, the U.S. had approximately 2,300 of these missiles before the conflict, with only around 425 now remaining available worldwide. The extensive use of these precision long-range weapons has raised concerns about reduced readiness for other potential conflicts.

Defense analysts indicate that replenishing these advanced missiles could take several years due to production limitations, highlighting the strategic impact of sustained high-intensity operations.

NASA Astronaut Declares Herself ‘Space Plumber’ After Fixing Artemis II Toilet

Artemis II astronaut Christina Koch stepped up when the spacecraft toilet jammed shortly after reaching orbit on the way to the Moon.

In a lighthearted video call with mission control, she owned the fix with pride.

“I’m the space plumber,” Koch said. “I’m proud to call myself the space plumber.”

She added that the toilet is “probably the most important piece of equipment on board.”

The minor issue interrupted urine collection but was quickly resolved by the crew. No major delays reported for the lunar flyby mission.

NASA stresses that mission specialists train for every job, from science experiments to hands-on repairs of vital systems. In space, even basic plumbing demands real skill—zero gravity turns simple tasks into serious challenges that can affect crew health and air quality.

This moment shows old-fashioned American ingenuity at work: astronauts ready to roll up their sleeves and solve problems, no matter how unglamorous. While headlines chase big dreams of returning to the Moon, real missions still rely on practical know-how to keep things running.

Reliable waste management isn’t flashy, but it’s essential for long-duration flights. Koch and her crewmates proved they’re prepared for whatever comes up—literally.

Back on Earth, the clip sparked plenty of laughs and memes, with many noting that plumbers matter everywhere, even in orbit.

Pam Bondi may have sealed her fate by giving inside information to Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California

New media reports claim that former Attorney General Pam Bondi may have sealed her fate by giving inside information to Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California.

A report in Semafor said President Donald Trump “believes she may have alerted California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell to an effort by the administration to release files from an investigation into his relationship with an alleged Chinese spy.”

In December of 2020, revelations emerged that a Chinese spy known as Christine Fang, or “Fang Fang,” had targeted numerous politicians by networking both professionally and romantically. Swalwell was among those in her net.

Swalwell had been informed of Fang’s background by the FBI in a 2015 briefing, and although he has never admitted that the relationship involved sex, that assumption has been drawn by many in Washington.

A report in the U.K.’s Daily Mail also indicated that the FBI was amassing documents related to Swalwell’s relationship with the Chinese spy, and Bondi was suspected of giving the Democrats a heads-up.

“She’s intervening in those matters. The White House wasn’t pleased she was intervening due to her personal friendship with Swalwell,” the Mail quoted a source as saying.

The Mail said it was “believed that Bondi and Swalwell have a friendly relationship.”

The Mail report said that when Trump told Bondi she would be fired, she was  “unhappy” and “tried to change his mind.”

Swalwell denied he was given information by Bondi, according to The Hill.

“We had no heads-up by anyone in the administration. None,” he said in a statement.

Bondi has been in the hot seat for months, beginning with a July memo on the Epstein files that said there was no client list and there would be no disclosures, a reversal of earlier claims that she had documents related to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein on her desk. That triggered a tidal wave of outrage that will live on longer than did Bondi’s tenure.

Bondi faces a House Oversight Committee subpoena to testify about the Epstein files held by the Justice Department. She is scheduled to appear before the panel later this month.

In a statement posted to X, Bondi made it clear she will leave the administration with her head held high.

“Over the next month I will be working tirelessly to transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche before moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration,” she posted.

“Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history,” she wrote.

“ZELENSKY’S BOLD GAMBLE: ‘WE CAN REOPEN HORMUZ’”

“ZELENSKY’S BOLD GAMBLE: ‘WE CAN REOPEN HORMUZ’”

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made a striking offer proposing Ukrainian help to reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz amid rising global tensions.

His argument? Ukraine has already done it once before.

Pointing to Kyiv’s success in the Black Sea, Zelensky says Ukrainian forces used homegrown sea drones and unconventional tactics to push back Russia’s powerful naval fleet effectively restoring a crucial grain export corridor under fire.

Now, he believes similar innovation could help secure one of the world’s most critical النفط routes.

“It’s not just about unblocking,” Zelensky stressed, “but maintaining security and clear rules.”

The proposal comes as fears grow over disruptions to global energy supplies. While details remain unclear, the offer signals Ukraine’s ambition to export its wartime expertise far beyond its own battlefield and into one of the world’s most volatile chokepoints.

Former CIA agent John Kiriakou says the JFK files will never be released because “they point directly at Israel.”

Former CIA agent John Kiriakou says the JFK files will never be released because “they point directly at Israel.”

He said in an interview: “About a year ago, I said, thank God that the President finally released the remaining documents. And he said, no, he didn’t. I said, yeah, he did. He was compelled by law. Congress passed a law twice demanding, compelling the President to release all documents related to the Kennedy assassination.

He said, there are 10,000 documents that are never going to be released. And I said, why? And he said, because every single one of them points directly at Israel. He says that the Israelis were so angry that, A, John Kennedy wouldn’t give them nuclear technology, but more importantly, B, he was actively trying to disrupt the Israelis from acquiring nuclear technology, and they decided they had to take him out.”

Interviewer: “John, why is it that Israel seems to have this much say over the American government? I mean, I don’t get it.”

John: “I mean. No, I. I don’t either. I mean, they’re a small little country. Why do they have this kind of power and control? Is it. I don’t know. I don’t get it. They genuinely believe that it is them against the world, and if they are not among the strongest powers in the world, they’re going to end up floating in the Mediterranean. And so they made a strategic decision in the middle 1950s that they were going to have as much of an impact in American elections as they possibly could.

AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, was created in the 1950s as a domestic lobbying organization supporting Israeli foreign policy goals. Every country has lobbyists in Washington. There’s nothing unusual about that. What’s unusual about it, though? Well, there are several things. Number one, AIPAC is the only one of these organizations that does not have to register as a foreign agent. Why? I don’t know why.

They’re clearly working on behalf of Israel, but they pretend that they’re not. And so they don’t have to register as foreign agents. More importantly, they really started focusing on fundraising for American elections in the late 1960s, and then they were successful in getting President Nixon in 1969 to guarantee Israeli national security. We had never said that before, beginning with Harry Truman.

You know, Harry Truman said that his role in the creation of the state of Israel made him, quote, a damn fool, that he was a damn fool for creating that country. And he said it was the biggest regret of his presidency because it spun out of control almost immediately.”

Presidential Candidates to Pay Fees from April 15

Presidential Candidates to Pay Fees from April 15

By Arnold Tutu

The Electoral Commission of Zambia –ECZ- has announced that April 15, 2026 has been set as the commencement date for the payment of presidential nomination fees for aspiring candidates seeking to have their supporters pre-processed in provincial centres.

In a statement issued to ZNBC news today, ECZ Chief Electoral Officer BROWN KASARO said the move is part of administrative measures aimed at improving the efficiency of the nomination process ahead of the August 2026 General Election.

Mr. KASARO said the Commission has noted with concern misinformation circulating on various media platforms suggesting that the April 15, date applies to all candidates.

He clarified that the timeline is strictly for presidential candidates only.

Mr. KASARO said those contesting parliamentary, mayoral, chairperson and councillor positions will pay their nomination fees after the dissolution of Parliament and councils.

He also dismissed claims that the commission has begun receiving nomination fees prior to the dissolution of Parliament.

Mr. KASARO said the pre-payment of nomination fees for presidential candidates is not new, noting that a similar approach was used during the 2016 and 2021 general elections to ensure a smoother process.

He explained that the measure is intended to reduce logistical costs for candidates, particularly the requirement to mobilise at least 100 registered voters from each province.

“This administrative measure is intended to reduce the cost for aspiring presidential candidates to transport all the 1,000 supporters to Lusaka,” he said.

Mr. KASARO added that the timelines were clearly outlined in the 2026 General Election Roadmap, which is publicly available to all stakeholders.

He urged stakeholders and members of the public to seek clarification from the Commission rather than circulate unverified information.

The ECZ Chief Electoral Officer further said the commission is also expected to meet aspiring presidential candidates and their campaign representatives on April 17, 2026 to discuss modalities surrounding the pre-processing of supporters and payment procedures.

UPND! stop using PF mistakes as permanent political currency to seek for re- election, wake up and show us the real development you have delivered

04 April 2026, Lusaka.

We strongly condemn and join the general populace demanding for new leaders. We are worried about the UPND government’s failure to deliver on its promises to the people of Zambia. It is unacceptable that they continue using past PF mistakes as an excuse for their own shortcomings.

The plight of miners on the Copperbelt and jobless youths and women across the country is a ticking time bomb. These young people deserve opportunities, not despair.

We demand the UPND government delivers on its commitments to improve roads, agriculture, tourism, and create jobs for our majority people.

The state of water and sanitation at UNZA and in other bigger compounds like Kanyama , Chibolya and Makululu in Kabwe is a national shame and a great source of concern. Poor roads in many districts are a worrisome issue and we can not keep quiet when you have terribly failed.

Water and good sanitation is a basic human right, yet the government is failing to provide to the people. Go in the wards and check what UPND has done- it is totally nothing.

We acknowledge PF’s short comings and their achievements in infrastructure development and agriculture, but that is not the issue. The issue is UPND’s failure to build on those gains. It is time to move forward, not dwell on the past mistakes of PF.

https://youtu.be/k4V8_2aR27c?si=n7ihwvIO47IMjMEc

To the UPND government, we say: stop complaining about PF and focus on delivering.

You have got a few months left- show us roads, show us jobs, show us development not just talking.

The people of Zambia are waiting and come August expect a rude shock when they vote you out.

Brian Mundubile Has Decampaigned Himself by Saying He Wants to Rule Like Lungu – Charles Milupi

UPND Alliance Chairperson Charles Milupi has said that Brian Mundubile has decampaigned himself by stating that he wants to rule the country like former President Edgar Lungu.

Milupi added that Mundubile’s statement confirms there is no substance in the opposition.

On Tuesday, Tonse Alliance president Brian Mundubile said that once elected, he will lead the country in the footsteps of the late President Lungu, who he claimed left the nation united.

Responding, Milupi criticized the remark, saying it shows a lack of originality and vision. “By aligning himself with the leadership style of a past president, Mundubile has effectively decampaigned himself. Zambians deserve new ideas and leadership, not a replication of the past,” he said.

He further urged voters to carefully consider the track record and proposals of opposition candidates, noting that the country needs leaders who can offer real change and development rather than nostalgic promises.

Milupi’s remarks come amid increasing political activity as parties prepare for the 2026 general elections, with candidates outlining their vision and policies ahead of the campaign period.

Fred M’membe calls for UPND exit ahead of August vote

People’s Pact presidential candidate Dr Fred M’membe has declared that the ruling United Party for National Development must leave office in the August general election, fixing the campaign into a direct contest over leadership.

The statement strips the election of gradual framing and replaces it with a clear decision point, reducing the contest to whether the current administration should remain in office or be replaced when voters go to the polls. The message is built around outcome rather than process, giving it immediate clarity and forcing a response across the political field.

The timing places the statement at the front edge of an intensifying campaign cycle, where political parties are moving from preparation into structured execution. Internal processes are opening, campaign machinery is beginning to align, and messaging is becoming more deliberate as each side positions itself ahead of the vote.

By linking “true change” directly to August, the message compresses the election into a fixed national moment, removing ambiguity and narrowing the space for layered interpretation. It sets a tone that is likely to influence how the campaign unfolds, with emphasis shifting from broad positioning to decisive engagement with voters.

The broader political environment, however, remains unsettled, particularly within opposition ranks where internal tensions and leadership disputes continue to surface. These dynamics introduce pressure on cohesion, raising questions about how effectively a unified campaign can be sustained behind a message that requires coordination across structures.

That contrast is central to how the election is now taking shape, with one side advancing urgency around leadership change while parallel narratives emphasise continuity and the preservation of existing programmes. The divide creates a structured contest in which both positions must now be defended with equal clarity.

The presence of competing narratives signals that the campaign is no longer undefined, but is instead consolidating around two clear directions that will shape voter engagement. Each side is moving toward sharper communication, with less reliance on abstract positioning and greater focus on direct statements that define intent.

The August timeline intensifies this shift by compressing political activity into a narrower window, where internal inconsistencies and delays become more visible. As the election approaches, organisational strength becomes as critical as messaging, with parties required to demonstrate both clarity of position and stability of structure.

M’membe’s declaration stands as one of the earliest fully defined positions in the campaign, setting a direct line that compels an equally defined response from the ruling party. It establishes a framework that forces engagement on leadership rather than peripheral issues, shaping the terms on which the election will be contested.

The election is now settling into a structured contest built around continuity and change, with each political move measured against that central divide. Messaging, organisation and cohesion will determine how effectively each side carries its position into the final stages of the campaign.

WHAT’S THE MEDAL FOR THE INHUMANE SCANDAL OF KEEPING A FORMER HEAD OF STATE UNBURIED 10 MONTHS ON?- KBN TV EDITORIAL

WHAT’S THE MEDAL FOR THE INHUMANE SCANDAL OF KEEPING A FORMER HEAD OF STATE UNBURIED 10 MONTHS ON?

A KBN TV EDITORIAL

All things considered, it would appear that the only crime His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu (ECL) committed, is to make a wish regarding what he considered to be the most dignified way to send him back to his ancestors.

He knew that he would not be around to enforce that wish, it was contingent upon the living to accord him the respect, not of a 21 gun salute because that, he already earned by virtue of the office he held, but to respect his wishes when he can not defend himself.

When you reflect on this bitter and sad tale in our political history, it seems, for expressing his wishes not publicly, but intimately and privately with the closest family inner circle, ECL is being punished in his death so brutally that he is serving a sentence in death of being an unburied prisoner who is still frozen in a foreign land.

Those who have waged a vicious legal battle to claim his body, have done so with impunity as if there is a medal they are fighting for. To stripe him of his wishes in death, is to disrespect him no matter the pomp and parade we want to mount in his honour.

Zambia may just win the worst record in the guinness book of world records as the most cold, callous and inhumane nation that takes away the rights of the expressed wishes of the dead only to assert our own rights and inpute them upon the dead. We are a nation that imprisons its leaders in death!

Honouring the wishes of the dead is not a matter that should be decided by a foreign court, it’s one that must be honoured and respected to the letter. It’s a sacred duty with the weight of an Oath.

When you read the account in Genesis 50:25, before his death, Joseph made the Israelites swear, they made an Oath to take his bones with them when God delivered them from Egypt, refusing to have his body remain in exile.

Lungu too, didn’t want his body to be buried in a foreign land but upon repatriation, his wish should be honoured. To create a hostile environment that armtwists the family to consider the option of putting him to rest elsewhere as the last ditch attempt to honour the Oath they made to him, is an indictment on our nation.

The principle of honouring an Oath you pledged to keep when your loved ones are long gone and dead that they can’t take the stand in court to defend themselves, is a duty you owe to their memories.

https://youtu.be/k4V8_2aR27c?si=z9wULYnogFWxGayD

The fact that ten months on, we have forgotten that Esther Lungu and her children are humans who should be helped with our collective love to find their feet and move on from the pain of losing their loved one, says alot about who we have become as a people.  We are lost and massaging egos for self importance. We don’t care about the feelings of the grieving family, their daily pain for the last ten months doesn’t concern us as long we achieve what we want against all odds.

After all is said and done, it doesn’t matter what you say, Edgar Lungu is a prisoner in death for expressing an intimate wish to his family. He deserves the honours due to him because he already earned it by virtue of the office he once held as Head of State.

As we count down to elections in the next four months, we should ask ourselves the hard question: Do we still want to start making political campaign noise and competing for the presidency when we are still locked in a fierce legal dispute over the body of someone who once occupied the same office we are in competition for?

Whatever that choice we make, let’s remember that nature has a way of speaking and pronouncing a verdict louder than the South African courts.

ECZ Clarifies Electoral Calendar beginning 15th April 2026

ECZ Clarifies Electoral Calendar beginning 15th April 2026

“The Commission, therefore, wishes to clarify that the 15th of April, 2026 has been
set as the commencement date for the payment of presidential nomination fees
for aspiring presidential candidates who wish to have their supporters pre-
processed in provincial centres.”

“This date does not include nomination fees for aspiring candidates for national
assembly, mayors/chairpersons and councilors.”

“These will be required to pay their
nomination fees after the dissolution of Parliament and councils respectively.
To this end, the payment of presidential nomination fees by prospective
presidential candidates starting 15ih of April, 2026 is an administrative measure
intended to reduce the cost for the aspiring presidential candidates to transport

“The stakeholders may wish to appreciate that aspiring Presidential candidates are
required by law to mobilise and be supported by at least one hundred registered
voters from each Province.”

“The Commission also wishes to emphasize that he referenced dates were
transparently communicated in the 2026 General Election Roadmap, which is a
public document accessible to all stakeholders”.

“Stakeholders are therefore encouraged to seek clarification directly from the Commission on any aspect of the process, rather than circulating misleading or unverified information.”

Once Elected, I Will Rule Like Lungu – Mundubile

TONSE Alliance president Brian Mundubile has pledged that, if elected, he will lead the country in the footsteps of the late President Edgar Lungu, who he says left the nation united.

Mundubile emphasized that the Alliance is committed to ensuring peace, even for those who previously sought to divide the country, noting that vengeance should be left to God.

Speaking during a media briefing while welcoming new members into the Alliance, Mundubile called on party supporters to work together in promoting national unity and development.

He urged citizens to embrace reconciliation and to prioritize the nation’s interests above personal or political differences, saying that a united Zambia is essential for sustainable progress.

“The late President Lungu demonstrated leadership that brought people together, and we must continue in that spirit. As a nation, we must focus on peace, dialogue, and inclusivity,” Mundubile said.

He added that the Alliance would not discriminate against anyone based on past political affiliations and that all Zambians would have a role to play in the country’s growth.

Mundubile also appealed to political actors to respect the democratic process, cautioning against actions that could incite division or unrest.

“Our mandate is to serve the people, and we call on everyone to contribute positively. The path to development is through unity, collaboration, and respect for each other,” he stated.

The event saw a large turnout of new members, who pledged their support to the TONSE Alliance and committed to promoting peace and stability in the country.

PF is the Most Crashed Political Organisation –Lukashya PF MP George Chisanga

Lukashya PF Member of Parliament George Chisanga says the former ruling party is currently the most “crashed” political organisation in the country.

Meanwhile, Chisanga claims that Brian Mundubile is the most feared presidential candidate among opposition political leaders.

Speaking when he appeared on Diamond Live on Tuesday night, Chisanga said he hoped that the Patriotic Front (PF) would soon resolve its internal wrangles and emerge stronger ahead of the 2026 general elections.

He said the continued leadership disputes in the party were unfortunate and had created an impression of instability, thereby weakening its position as a key opposition force.

Chisanga noted that the PF needs to quickly reorganise and provide clear leadership if it is to regain public confidence and effectively challenge the ruling party.

He, however, maintained that Brian Mundubile remains a strong and credible leader who commands respect across the political divide.

“Mundubile is one of the most feared candidates because of his consistency and ability to articulate national issues. Once the party puts its house in order, he will be a force to reckon with,” Chisanga said.

He further urged PF members to prioritise unity and avoid actions that may deepen divisions, stressing that internal cohesion will be critical for the party’s survival.

Chisanga added that despite its current challenges, the PF still has a solid grassroots base, which can be revitalised if leaders focus on reconciliation and rebuilding structures.

He expressed optimism that with discipline and unity, the party can recover from its current state and remain relevant in Zambia’s political landscape.

IF HH WINS THE ELECTION OF AUGUST 2026, THE PF CARDERS DEFECTING TO UPND NOW WILL DOMINATE THE CABINET, LEAVING THE OLD UPND MEMBERS VULNERABLE AND MISERABLE

IF HH WINS THE ELECTION OF AUGUST 2026, THE PF CARDERS DEFECTING TO UPND NOW WILL DOMINATE THE CABINET, LEAVING THE OLD UPND MEMBERS VULNERABLE AND MISERABLE

As Zambia approaches the crucial 2026 elections, a serious concern is emerging within political circles and among ordinary citizens. The increasing influx of former PF members into UPND raises an uncomfortable but necessary question: what will happen to the loyal, long-serving UPND members if President Hakainde Hichilema secures another mandate?

Politics is about loyalty, sacrifice, and consistency. Many UPND members stood firm during difficult years—facing opposition, ridicule, and political exclusion. They believed in the vision, carried the party through hardship, and worked tirelessly to bring it into government. Today, however, they are watching as former PF carders—some of whom once opposed and undermined UPND—are being welcomed and positioned closer to power.

If this trend continues unchecked, there is a real risk that these defectors could dominate key government positions, including cabinet roles. This would not only create resentment within the party but also send a dangerous message: that loyalty and perseverance are less valuable than political convenience.

https://youtu.be/wReIpv2j45I?si=QON223HLQTWHgQjG

Mr. President, leadership must reward commitment and protect the foundation upon which victory was built. Ignoring the concerns of long-time members could weaken internal unity and create divisions that may cost the party its credibility in the long run.

The future of UPND should not be shaped by opportunism but by principle. The party must remain grounded in fairness, transparency, and respect for those who stood with it when it mattered most.

Zambians are watching. The decisions made today will define not only the strength of UPND but also the trust the people place in its leadership going forward.

I am Offering Zambia Something Different – Willah Mudolo

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) presidential hopeful Willah Mudolo has unveiled plans to demolish and rebuild Zambia’s major learning institutions, pledging that his government will not tolerate unsafe and outdated infrastructure.

Mudolo said that, if elected, his administration will tear down dilapidated structures at institutions such as the University of Zambia, Copperbelt University, Mulungushi University, and Northern Technical College, replacing them with modern facilities that meet international standards.

He explained that the new campuses will feature safe learning environments, quality student accommodation, and ensuite facilities, aimed at restoring dignity and safety in the education sector.

https://youtu.be/k4V8_2aR27c?si=n7ihwvIO47IMjMEc

“The massive reconstruction programme will be completed within 24 to 30 months,” Mudolo said, describing it as a practical and time-bound plan to fix the country’s universities.

He assured that learning would not be disrupted during the process, highlighting plans to expand online education and provide temporary facilities for critical programmes such as medicine and science.

“I am offering Zambia something different… we will end this cycle of neglect and rebuild our institutions properly,” Mudolo said.

The announcement comes in the wake of the tragic death of 18-year-old University of Zambia student Emmanuel Bwalya. Yesterday, UNZA students took to the streets to protest after a fellow student drowned in a pit that was being dug to repair a blocked sewer system.

Mudolo said the incident was not just an accident but a reflection of leadership failures by past administrations, which left students in unsafe and inadequate learning environments.

He added that after more than 60 years of independence, it was unacceptable that universities in Zambia remain outdated and dangerous, emphasizing that his plan is not only about infrastructure but about creating a system that supports students and prepares them for the future.

Trump Warns Iran That Time Is Running Out on Strait of Hormuz Deadline

President Trump Warns Iran That Time Is Running Out on Strait of Hormuz Deadline

WASHINGTON (April 4, 2026) President Donald Trump has posted a reminder on Truth Social that the extended deadline for Iran to reach a deal or fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz is approaching, with roughly 48 hours remaining before the current window expires.

In his statement today, President Trump said:
“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!”

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital global shipping route for oil. Trump’s initial ultimatum in late March warned of potential U.S. strikes on Iranian power infrastructure if the waterway was not reopened safely. The deadline was later extended first by several days, then by an additional 10 days at Iran’s request setting the current cutoff for Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

This development comes amid ongoing tensions in the region. The post highlights the urgency as diplomatic efforts and talks continue.
