As tension between Elon Musk and Donald Trump escalates, Musk has publicly refuted his involvement with Trump’s recent “Big, Beautiful Bill.”

As a reply to the president’s comment about the bill, Elon wrote on his X page thatt the presidents comments were “FALSE” and that he had no knowledge as alleged.

Trump told reporters on Thursdays that he was surprised about Elon’s reaction as he knew more about the bill than anyone else?

“I’m very disappointed with Elon. I’ve helped him a lot. He knew the inner workings of the bill better than anybody sitting here. He had no problem with it,” Donald explained.

Musk in his defense said he had never seen or heard of the bill because it was “never shown to me.”

The ongoing feud between Musk and Trump has sparked lot’s of critiques online. It all began after Trump recent passed a new tax and immigration bill.

According to Musk, the bill will destroy all the hardwork he did while he was working as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Elon Musk says Trump would have lost the election without him; calls him ungrateful

The tension between Musk and Trump continues to rise as the two go head-to-head in their ongoing battle.

In recent updates, the billionaire has alleged that Trump wouldn’t be president had it not been for his intervention.

In response to a post a on X in which Trump said he would have win Pennsylvania without Musk’s help, the Tesla CEO revealed otherwise.

According to him, Trump would have lost the elections had not been for him. He also stated that aside Trump loosing, the Democrats would have controlled the House.

In a subsequent post, Musk referred to Trumps actions as being ungrateful.

Elon Musk has suspended Donald Trump’s account after their recent feud

The ongoing tension between president Donald Trump and Elon Musk seems to have escalated now.

Recent findings revealed Donald Trump’s X account has been suspended by Elon Musk temporarily.

The feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump has escalated rapidly in recent days, and it’s all over disagreements regarding Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.

The conflict actually began to intensify after Elon Musk resigned from his role as a White House adviser leading the Department of Government Efficiency.

The feud exploded into public argument on earlier today with both figures trading insults on their respective social media platforms.

Trump expressed disappointment, claiming Musk “knew the inner workings” of the bill and only objected after leaving his role.

He also threatened to cut government contracts that add related with Musk’s companies.

Many believes it was this part that angered Elon Musk and he took the decision to suspend Trump’s X account.

Trump calls Elon Musk CRAZY; threatens to terminate the governmental subsidies and contracts of his businesses

A lot of things and names have been called as President Trump and Elon Musk continue to lash out at each other on social media.

In a post on his Truth Social, Trump referred to Musk as “CRAZY.” According to him, Musk’s recent actions were sparked after he “asked him to leave” and took away his “EV Mandate.”

He also alleged that the said mandate forced to people to buy electric cars although they did not want to and that Musk knew all along that he was going to end it.

“Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!” Trump wrote on his page.

In a separate post, Trump added:

“The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”

Elon Musk says Donald Trump is in the Epstein files

Secrets are still being revealed as Elon Musk and Donald Trump continue their social media face-off and word exchange.

In recent upate, Musk has alleged that Trump’s name is among the Epstein list and that is the main reason why the list is still being withheld.

In a post on X, Musk stated, “Time to drop the really big bomb: [Donald Trump] is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

In a follow-up post, the billionaire wrote, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

The claim comes amid a public dispute between Musk and Trump, following Musk’s criticism of a Republican bill as a “disgusting abomination” on June 4, 2025, as reported by The New York Times.

House Democrats have since called for the release of the Epstein files, citing suspicions that Attorney General Pam Bondi is withholding them to protect Trump.

The Epstein files, tied to the late financier’s sex trafficking investigation, have been partially declassified, with the U.S. Department of Justice releasing 200 pages on February 27, 2025.

However, thousands of additional documents remain under review. Recordings from 2017, released in November 2024 by journalist Michael Wolff, previously detailed a close social relationship between Trump and Epstein, which Trump has denied.

Trump expose Elon Musk’s hypocrisy, question why he did not complain about his presidency months ago when he had gorvenment appointment

Things are currently getting out of hand between Elon Musk and Donald Trump who used to be the next of friends just months ago.

Donald Trump has questioned Elon Musk’s decision to turn against him only after leaving his government role.

According to him, he’s not surprised that Elon Musk will eventually turned his back on him.

His biggest surprise however is that he should have done that months ago and not now that he isn’t holding any government position.

The two are currently in disagreements regarding Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” which is a sweeping domestic policy bill that includes tax cuts, border security measures, and the removal of electric vehicle (EV) subsidies.

Donald Trump argued that the bill happens to be one of the best bills ever presented to congress.

According to Trump, the bill will have a Record Cut in Expenses around $1.6 Trillion dollars which he considered as the biggest tax cut given.

“I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago. This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress. It’s a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given. If this Bill doesn’t pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that. I didn’t create this mess, I’m just here to FIX IT. This puts our Country on a Path of Greatness. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” He wrote

Elon Musk announces SpaceX will decommission Dragon spacecraft as Trump threatens to terminate his contracts

Elon Musk announced on X that SpaceX will immediately begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft.

This decision follows a statement from Trump on X, where he suggested terminating government subsidies and contracts with Musk’s companies to save billions in the federal budget. Trump noted surprise that the Biden administration had not taken similar action.

SpaceX has received over $20 billion in contracts from NASA and other agencies since 2008, with Dragon being a key vehicle for transporting up to seven passengers to Earth orbit and beyond.

The announcement comes amid a public dispute between Musk and Trump, sparked by Musk’s criticism of a Republican tax bill on June 4, 2025, which he called a “disgusting abomination” on X.

The bill, extending Trump’s 2017 tax cuts and eliminating taxes on tips and overtime, has been projected to add over $2 trillion to the national debt.

The Dragon spacecraft, developed by SpaceX, is a reusable spacecraft designed to transport cargo, crew, and supplies to and from Earth orbit, primarily servicing the International Space Station (ISS).

Ivory Coast disqualifies top opposition leader Thiam from presidential race

Ivory Coast’s top opposition figure, Tidjane Thiam, has been officially disqualified from running in the country’s upcoming presidential election, deepening concerns about the fairness of the October vote. The electoral commission confirmed Wednesday that Thiam, along with three other high-profile opposition figures, has been excluded from the final list of approved candidates.

Thiam, a former Credit Suisse CEO and now head of the Democratic Party of Ivory Coast, had been widely viewed as the leading contender against incumbent President Alassane Ouattara. His disqualification follows a court ruling earlier this year which deemed him ineligible due to his former dual citizenship.

Born in Ivory Coast, Thiam had acquired French nationality in 1987 but renounced it in March. Despite this, the court’s earlier decision still stands. Thiam had vowed to fight the ruling, but the electoral commission says it is simply following legal orders.

“If the courts have ordered removal, we will comply,” Ibrahime Coulibaly-Kuibiert, president of the electoral commission, told reporters on Monday.

Thiam had secured his party’s nomination unopposed and was seen as a unifying figure for the opposition after the 2020 election, which was marred by violence and a widespread boycott by rival candidates.

The Democratic Party of Ivory Coast has condemned his exclusion as politically motivated.

The statement called the decision “unfair” and announced plans for national protests “to defend democracy.”

In addition to Thiam, other major opposition figures banned from running include former president Laurent Gbagbo, his ally Charles Ble Goude, who was charged with crimes against humanity during the post-election crisis—and Guillaume Soro, a former rebel leader and prime minister who was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for allegedly orchestrating a coup.

The disqualifications have heightened fears of renewed unrest in a nation still recovering from past electoral violence and deep political divisions.

The Game Advises Offset To Pursue Angel Reese As Stefon Diggs & Cardi B Drama Continues

Offset has been at odds with Stefon Diggs since he and Cardi B went public with their relationship, last weekend

The Game has weighed in on Stefon Diggs and Offset’s ongoing feud over Cardi B. In doing so, he suggested that Offset “do something” after Diggs got a matching hairstyle to the rapper’s son, Wave. The New England Patriots wide receiver debuted the new look at OTAs, earlier this week.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Game shared a picture of Stefon Diggs in a hair stylist’s chair, as caught by AllHipHop. “Me knowing a n***a ain’t gone do nothing about it,” Game wrote over the photo. In a follow-up, he posted a side-by-side comparison of Diggs and Wave with the caption: “How much for these??” In a third post, he jokingly shared some advice for Offset. “Offset do something,” he wrote. “Take Angel Reese to Hawaii.”

Offset ended up being so angry with Diggs over the move, he deleted his social media accounts following a pair of fiery posts. “Now when somebody die for playing with my son then call me the crash out,” Offset wrote on X (formerly Twitter). In a follow-up post, he added: “Idc how I look trolling wit my kid ends bad.” Afterwards, he deleted both his X account and his Instagram account.

Cardi B and Stefon Diggs have been rumored to be dating for a number of months, but they finally made their relationship public, last weekend. They shared a series of pictures of themselves together on Instagram after a headline-grabbing boat outing in Miami.

The move appeared to irk Offset, who wrote on X afterward: “Good roll out n PR. Today I pass.” Diggs fired back by sharing a picture of himself catching a football with the caption: “We good over here, I caught her.”

Following their announcement, Cardi spoke about the relationship on X Spaces, suggesting that God told her to give Diggs a chance. She explained that there were several times when she was feeling depressed and lonely and coincidentally, Diggs would check in on her. “I just felt like God would tell me to give him a chance,” she said.

Lil Wayne has shared a new commercial in promotion of his upcoming album, Tha Carter VI, just hours before its set to release. Mike Johnson express disappointment in Elon Musk, reveal conversation he had with him about the bill two days ago

United States House Speaker, Mike Johnson has promised to place a call on Elon Musk with immidiate effect.

Caught in the middle of ongoing issues surrounding the president, Johnson has expressed surprise and disappointment at Elon Musk’s stance.

The US house Speaker noticed he spoke with Elon Musk just two days ago and the Tesla boss initially seemed to understand the bill’s merits.

Earlier, Johnson downplayed the feud, emphasizing that it was only policy differences and not personal conflict.

Things however escalated quickly and has now turned into a public feud between the United States president and Elon Musk.

Johnson mentioned earlier today that he was on his way to call Elon Musk in a bid to address the ongoing public attacks, which have included threats to politically target lawmakers supporting the bill.

Just for you to know few things about the rift, it actually got deepened with Donald Trump escalating tensions with many accusations online.

Trump even suggested on Truth Social that terminating Musk’s government subsidies and contracts could save billions.

This made Elon Musk fired back with personal allegations, including references to Trump’s and the Epstein files.

Black Parents Given Wrong Ashes Because Their Baby’s Body was Hidden by Funeral Home

Chris Parham and LaQuanda Brown, African American parents from White Plains, Maryland, who lost their 2-month-old son, Coi’Seir, later found out the funeral home gave them the wrong ashes. They then discovered their baby’s body was hidden at the funeral home owners’ private home. The family had waited weeks before getting their son Coi’Seir’s ashes from Heaven Bound Crematorium. But it turned out the crematorium never cremated him. Instead, his body was found decomposing in the same clothes he wore at his funeral, inside the home of Heaven Bound’s owners, Rosa Turner and Brandon Williams.

According to Fox 5 DC, Heaven Bound Crematorium had a troubled history. In 2017, the Maryland Death Services Oversight Board cited them for mishandling human remains. Earlier this year, the crematorium was shut down when investigators found bodies stacked in cardboard boxes. But no one expected the remains to be kept at the owners’ house.

Chris and LaQuanda had worked with Stewart Funeral Home in Washington, D.C., for their son’s arrangements. They still don’t know how Coi’Seir’s body ended up with Heaven Bound’s owners, feeling betrayed by both businesses.

They have filed a $10 million lawsuit against Stewart Funeral Home, Heaven Bound, and its owners. They are also demanding criminal charges. Authorities have confirmed a criminal investigation is underway.

ZAMBIA MOURNS FORMER PRESIDENT LUNGU AS DR. M’MEMBE PAYS TRIBUTE

ZAMBIA MOURNS FORMER PRESIDENT LUNGU AS DR. M’MEMBE PAYS TRIBUTE

Lusaka… Thursday June 5, 2025 – Zambia mourns the passing of Sixth Republican President, Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, with tributes pouring in from across the political divide.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1AdScUxh77/?mibextid=wwXIfr

In a heartfelt message, Socialist Party (SP) President Dr Fred M’membe has extended his deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family and the nation at large.

Dr M’membe stated that his thoughts were with Mrs Esther Lungu, the Lungu family, and friends of the late former President.

He also extended his condolences to the leadership and members of the Patriotic Front, as well as all those who cherished Mr Lungu.

Speaking in solemn reflection, Dr M’membe said he was observing the moment in silence, sorrow, and deep reflection, joining the family, friends, and the wider political community in mourning the late leader.

He described Mr Lungu as a brother and a friend he had known for 47 years, recalling how they affectionately referred to each other as “Mwana,” a term that held deep personal significance for them.

Dr M’membe revealed that despite enduring complicated political differences and fallouts over the years, they were guided by the bond of close brotherhood and friendship, which always inspired reconciliation.

Reflecting on Mr Lungu’s personal qualities, Dr M’membe remarked that the former President never allowed the title “His Excellency” to change their relationship.

He praised Mr Lungu’s simplicity and humility, describing them as traits he deeply admired.

“He was a leader who carried himself with humility,” Dr M’membe noted, adding that this down-to-earth attitude made Mr Lungu widely respected and accepted by many Zambians.

Calling on the nation to honour Mr Lungu’s legacy, Dr M’membe urged citizens to not only mourn his passing but to also carry forward the aspirations of the people whom Mr Lungu served.

He highlighted Mr Lungu’s recent return from political retirement, saying it was driven by a desire to unite the opposition.

Dr M’membe called on the country to honour that vision by striving for unity across political and social lines.

He concluded his tribute by praying for strength and fortitude for the Lungu family, the Patriotic Front, and the entire nation during a period of great difficulty and pain.

“May Mr Lungu’s Soul Rest in Eternal Peace!”

He writes:

At this moment, the deepest of my  thoughts, sympathy, and condolences are with Mrs Esther Lungu,  the family and friends of His Excellency, Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

I also extend my sympathy and condolences to the leadership and members of the Patriotic Front, and to all those who loved and cherished Mr Lungu.

Today, I recline in deep silence, reflection, and sorrow as I join Mrs Lungu and family, friends, and the wider political family of Mr Lungu, and indeed, the whole nation in mourning the passing of Mr Lungu, the Sixth President of our country.

Mr Lungu was a brother and a friend whom I have known for the last 47 years. We always referred to each other as ‘Mwana’ – whatever that means or meant.

Even amidst very complicated political differences and fallouts, we remained guided by the reality that we were once very close brothers and very good friends, hence the desire to reconcile.

Despite his great political achievements, when we met, he still remained the same ‘Mwana’ – ‘not His Excellency’ to me. This simplicity and humility is a trait  I greatly admire in him.

He never allowed ‘His Excellency’ to destroy who we were to each other and change the way we addressed each other or related to each other over the many years of knowing each other.

Mr Lungu was a leader who carried himself with humility. His down-to-earth attitude made him more acceptable to many of our people.

As a nation, I pray that as we mourn this immense loss, let us also honour Mr Lungu’s memory not only in words, but in the way we carry forward the aspirations of the masses of our people, a people he was privileged to lead.

Mr Lungu’s declared intention for coming out of political retirement was to unite the opposition. Let’s honour him by uniting our political and social struggles and ultimately our whole nation.

May God grant the Lungu family, the Patriotic Front, and the whole nation fortitude and strength during this period of great difficulty and pain.

May Mr Lungu’s Soul Rest in Eternal Peace!

President of the Socialist Party

IMMEDIATE KEY SOLUTION TO OUR ECONOMIC CHALLENGES- Fred M’membe

IMMEDIATE KEY SOLUTION TO OUR ECONOMIC CHALLENGES

The key immediate positive economic measure that Mr Hakainde Hichilema and his UPND government should take to address our economic challenges is revising the generous mining tax waivers given to transnational corporations.

Those in power should keep in mind that right now, the country is engulfed in political upheaval and is tense politically. Economically, our country is on its knees.

Rating agencies have taken note of this occurrence. Aside from debt, the economic landscape is in the negative with high cost of living, which has a potential for civil unrest.

Prolonged load shedding is negatively affecting business.

Low crop harvest has the potential to exacerbate inflation and exchange rate risk.

New external borrowing, even if we say it’s concession borrowing, is nonetheless increasing our foreign debt exposure and increases the probability for future default. Revamping of mines and increased copper production is a medium-term initiative and will not have an immediate impact on our economic challenges.

Our advice on the immediate positive economic measure is revising the generous mining tax waivers. We ask those in power to move on this immediately.

EFF STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF FORMER ZAMBIAN PRESIDENT EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU

**EFF STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF FORMER ZAMBIAN

PRESIDENT EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU**

Thursday, 5 June 2025

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) expresses its condolences to the people of Zambia, the Patriotic Front party, and the family of former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, following news of his passing at the age of 68. He died on the morning of Thursday, 5 June 2025, after receiving medical treatment in Pretoria, South Africa.

Born in 1956 in Ndola, Zambia, President Lungu rose from humble beginnings in the Copperbelt region to become a lawyer, military officer, and ultimately the sixth President of Zambia, serving from 2015 to 2021. His rise to the presidency came after the passing of President Michael Sata, and he led the country through a challenging period marked by economic strain and political change.

During his tenure, President Lungu made significant strides in strengthening Zambia’s international relations and promoting unity across political divides. He was committed to the idea that patriotism should transcend political affiliation, considering every Zambian to be an ambassador of their country.

President Lungu introduced policy initiatives aimed at diversifying Zambia’s economy beyond its reliance on copper and supported infrastructure development. Notably, he appointed Zambia’s first female Vice President, Inonge Wina, and enforced the commuting of death sentences.

However, President Lungu’s time in office was not without criticism. His administration was marked by concerns over rising public debt, the use of emergency powers during times of unrest, and the passage of legislation seen as restricting civil liberties. Nevertheless, Zambia’s democratic institutions endured, and the country experienced a peaceful transfer of power in 2021.

President Lungu’s legacy is one of complexity, however, in remembering his life and leadership, the EFF acknowledges the importance of leadership transitions through democratic means. We extend our sympathies to President Lungu’s wife, Esther Lungu, their six children, and all those mourning his passing.

UPND DISMISSES KEVIN FUBE’S LEGAL THREATS AS “LAUGHABLE AND MISGUIDED”

UPND DISMISSES KEVIN FUBE’S LEGAL THREATS AS “LAUGHABLE AND MISGUIDED”

Lusaka, June 5, 2025 — The ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) has come out strongly against Independent Member of Parliament Kevin Fube’s threat to take legal action over the constitution amendment process, describing his move as “laughable, misguided, and an abuse of court process.”

UPND Media Director Mark Simuuwe issued a statement on Wednesday, responding to Mr. Fube’s 14-day ultimatum to the Attorney General to halt the ongoing Constitution Amendment Bill No. 7 of 2025 or face court action.

“No court has the authority to stop a constitution-making process that is grounded in law,” Mr. Simuuwe said. “Mr. Fube’s threats are not only premature but verge on an abuse of the judicial process.”

Mr. Simuuwe defended the government’s position, citing Article 62 of the Constitution, which vests legislative powers in Parliament, including the authority to amend the Constitution.

“Parliament cannot be barred from fulfilling its legislative responsibilities. That authority is clearly outlined in the Constitution. Any attempt to interfere with that process through the courts is not only futile but has already been rejected by precedent,” Mr. Simuuwe added.
He further challenged Fube to provide legal clarity on the basis of his threat.

“We urge Mr. Fube to cite the specific constitutional provision or piece of legislation he believes the Executive has violated. So far, he has offered no legal grounding for his claims, which remain baseless and politically motivated,” said Mr. Simuuwe.

The UPND emphasized that past attempts to block constitutional processes through the courts have been dismissed as frivolous and without merit, reinforcing the position that Parliament’s authority in this area is well established.

While acknowledging Fube’s right to approach the courts, the ruling party accused him of misusing the legal system for political theatre.

“This constitution-making process is being conducted within the bounds of the law. Misguided legal threats will not derail a reform agenda backed by the will of the people and the framework of the Constitution,” Mr. Simuuwe stated.

President Hichilema to Continue Acts of Giving Anchored on Love, Unity and Dignity

President Hichilema to Continue Acts of Giving Anchored on Love, Unity and Dignity

With regard to the reported donation to the Catholic Diocese of Mansa, I wish to clarify that His Excellency, the Republican President Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, receives numerous requests for support and donations from various communities and institutions across the country.

Each of these requests is carefully evaluated to ensure they align with the values of integrity, compassion, unity, and genuine support for humanity.

President Hichilema has always been a giver, long before entering political life, throughout his time in opposition, and now as Head of State.

His philanthropic efforts have consistently transcended political, religious, and regional boundaries, extending support to Christian missions, other faith-based institutions, orphanages, schools, health centres, and underprivileged communities across Zambia.

The President, alongside his family, supports hundreds of orphans and vulnerable youths from disadvantaged backgrounds. He often chooses to do this quietly and privately, unless public acknowledgment is at the express wish of the recipient.

Let it be reaffirmed that President Hichilema remains deeply committed to acts of giving, not for political mileage, but as a heartfelt expression of solidarity with fellow human beings. However, such acts are also conducted in accordance with established procedures to ensure accountability and transparency.

The President’s philosophy of giving is rooted in his belief in love, unity, human dignity, dialogue, and mutual respect. He regrets instances where gestures of goodwill extended to needy communities are interpreted through narrow political lenses by some of his political colleagues.

It is his firm conviction that gifts, whether material or spiritual, are meant to uplift, unite, and inspire hope, not divide or breed suspicion.

He continues to call upon all Zambians to transcend artificial divisions and embrace a spirit of brotherhood, cooperation, and national service. As he often affirms, what binds us together is far greater than what sets us apart, and Christ remains the greatest gift to humankind.

Finally, President Hichilema continues holding the Catholic Church in the highest regard and will always respect and value its guidance, particularly on matters of social justice, equity, and the common good. The Church remains a vital partner in building a just and compassionate society.

South Africans fume as court awards undocumented immigrant R1.4 Million from RAF

South Africans fume as court awards undocumented immigrant R1.4 Million from RAF

A Western Cape High Court ruling ordering the Road Accident Fund (RAF) to pay over R1.4 million to Charles Jeka Chipofya, an undocumented Malawian immigrant, has ignited a firestorm of outrage across South Africa.

The decision, stemming from a 2016 car accident in Plettenberg Bay that left Chipofya injured, has sparked heated debates on social media and beyond, with many citizens decrying what they see as an injustice.

Chipofya, who has lived in South Africa since 1994 and is married to a South African with two children, was awarded the compensation despite his lack of legal residency.

The court, presided over by Judge Lekhuleni, ruled that the RAF Act does not exclude claimants based on immigration status, prioritizing the accident’s circumstances over documentation.

The RAF’s attempt to rescind the settlement, citing discrepancies in Chipofya’s passport, was dismissed, solidifying the payout.

South Africans expressed fury, arguing the ruling rewards illegal immigration and strains public resources. “How can an undocumented foreigner get millions while citizens struggle?”. Others echoed sentiments that the decision undermines national sovereignty and fairness.

Critics of the outrage, however, argue the ruling upholds non-discriminatory access to justice, emphasizing that the RAF’s purpose is to compensate accident victims, regardless of status.

As the debate rages, the ruling highlights deep tensions over immigration and resource allocation in South Africa, with no easy resolution in sight.

Floyd Shivambu embraces new role in MK Party after constitutional misstep

Floyd Shivambu, former secretary-general of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, has expressed enthusiasm for his redeployment to the National Assembly following a violation of the party’s constitution.

The disciplinary action stemmed from an unauthorized trip to visit fugitive pastor Shepherd Bushiri in Malawi over the Easter weekend, which contravened Section 3(j) of the MK Party’s principles.

Shivambu expressed regret for the oversight but welcomed his new role with optimism. “I am grateful to President Jacob Zuma for his continued trust and am excited to serve in Parliament, where I can leverage my experience to strengthen the MK Party’s caucus,” he said.

Shivambu’s redeployment marks a shift from his previous leadership position, but he views it as an opportunity to contribute to the party’s parliamentary objectives.

The MK Party emphasized that the decision reflects its commitment to upholding its constitutional values. Shivambu’s eagerness to embrace his new role signals his determination to remain a pivotal figure in the party’s mission to advance its political agenda.

Jordaan tells Parliament, only SAFA members can decide his fate, not external pressure

Danny Jordaan, President of the South African Football Association (SAFA), told Parliament that his tenure is determined solely by SAFA members through a democratic vote, not by external pressures or personal choice.

Facing criticism over mismanagement, financial issues, and SAFA’s performance, Jordaan emphasized that only the SAFA National Executive Committee and its members have the authority to remove him.

This follows reports of unpaid staff, R70 million in irregular expenditure flagged by the Auditor-General, and public calls for his resignation, including from figures like Mkhuleko Hlengwa, chair of Parliament’s sports portfolio committee.

Jordaan, in office since 2013, was re-elected unopposed in 2022 for a third term.

Meanwhile South Africans reflect mixed sentiments, with some praising his contributions to South African football, like securing sponsorships and hosting the 2010 World Cup, while others demand accountability and his ousting, citing ongoing controversies and rape allegations from 2017, which he denies.

Resignation of justice Emelia Sunkutu after 31 years of legal service  is sad and disturbing- Silavwe Jackson

The resignation of justice Emelia Sunkutu after 31 years of legal service at the hands of President Hichilema is sad and disturbing.

At the hands of President Hichilema judges Palan Mulonda, Mungeni Mulenga, Anne Sitali, former DPP Mrs. Siyuni have all be hounded out of legal office.

This is nothing less than a sustained assault on the judiciary by the republican president using state machinery to push his agenda.

As Golden Party of Zambia, GPZ we opine that the suspensions and dismissals of judges has compromised the quality of judgements especially in politically exposed cases.

There’s no doubt the President Hichilema and his administration have inappropriately “touched” the blinded folded lady justice.

We fear that this sustained legal assault will further erode public confidence in the Judiciary, which is already at its lowest in recent times.

The executives overreach on the judiciary demonstrate our Country needs to further amend our statutes to insulate the judges from political maneuvers.

We urge President Hichilema to refrain from this judicial warpath and promote separation of powers amongst the 3 wings of government.

STATEMENT ON THE FUNDRAISING EVENT HELD FOR LUBWE MISSION

The Office of the Bishop of the Diocese of Mansa has been receiving diverse and mixed reactions to the circulation of a report on various social media platforms concerning a fundraising event held on Saturday, 31st May 2025, in Samfya. This event was reportedly conducted in preparation for the 120th anniversary celebration since the establishment of the first Catholic Mission station at Lubwe, in the present day Chifunabuli District, scheduled for 28th June 2025.

According to the report, it was publicly announced during the event that the Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, pledged to contribute K800,000 towards the celebration. In addition, the Honourable Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Engineer Peter Kapala, aspiring candidate for the United Party for National Development (UPND) parliamentary seat for Chifunabuli Constituency, who was the guest of honour at the function – pledged 200 bags of 25kg mealie meal and two cows.

The Diocese wishes to make it clear that the Bishop, Rt. Rev. Patrick Chisanga, OFM Conv., had expressly advised the Parish Priest against proceeding with the fundraising event until clarity was provided regarding the perceived partisan political overtones in its organization. Regrettably, the event went ahead without the consent or blessing of the Bishop.

While the Church values acts of generosity and goodwill, the Diocese of Mansa, guided by a sense of pastoral responsibility and ecclesial integrity, will not accept the aforementioned donations. This decision is informed not by ingratitude, but by a conscientious commitment to uphold the impartiality and moral authority of the Church. The context and manner in which these pledges were made risk compromising the Church’s long-standing position of political neutrality and inclusivity.

The Diocese of Mansa reiterates its unwavering commitment to collaboration, dialogue, and mutual respect with the Government at both national and local levels. However, such cooperation must always be anchored in transparency, inclusiveness, and the non-partisan character of the Church’s mission.

Our Vision of “Embracing everyone with the love of Christ” requires that all diocesan activities, particularly those of a public or mission nature, remain neutral to all persons, regardless of political affiliation. Unfortunately, the organization and execution of the said fundraising event were perceived to carry a partisan bias, thereby excluding many would-be participants and undermining the spirit of unity and communion that the Church stands for.

We urge all Catholic faithful and members of the public to remain vigilant and to continue to support the Church in ways that reinforce her prophetic voice, spiritual mission and social impartiality.

It is the Bishop’s wish that the forthcoming June 28 celebration, be held in a deeply spiritual atmosphere of thanksgiving to God for the 120 years of Catholic witnessing to the Gospel of Christ and contributing to the integral good of the people of Luapula and Zambia at large.

ENGINEERS DEMAND CONSTITUTIONAL RECOGNITION: EIZ PRESIDENT FIRES WARNING SHOT AT BILL 7 DRAFTERS

In a no-holds-barred public statement, the President of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ), Eng. Wesley Wyman Kaluba, has launched a direct challenge to the drafters of Bill 7, calling for the immediate constitutional recognition of engineering, science, and innovation.

Representing over 95,000 engineering professionals nationwide, Kaluba warned that Zambia will continue to underperform developmentally if it continues to marginalize its technical workforce.

Kaluba accused successive governments of treating engineering as an afterthought, despite the fact that engineers are central to nearly every pillar of national development from infrastructure and energy to water, telecommunications, and health systems. He described the Constitution as a “national blueprint” that currently sends the wrong message to the youth by prioritizing law, politics, and economics while excluding science and innovation.

“We have constitutional offices for economic planning, legal affairs, and communications. But not for engineering, science, or innovation. Does that not contradict logic and national interest?” he asked. Kaluba warned that this systemic exclusion is more than symbolic; it’s a barrier to industrialization, modernization, and the achievement of long-term development goals.

In a pointed revelation, Kaluba disclosed that EIZ has formally submitted proposals to the government for more than 40 years advocating for the creation of senior advisory roles such as a Chief Technical Advisor on Engineering, Innovation, and Industrialization at State House. However, he said these appeals have been met with silence or dismissal, reflecting a dangerous underestimation of the country’s own technical capacity.

The EIZ President proposed six constitutional reforms, including the creation of a constitutional office for engineering, legal provisions for local engineering input in public procurement, and guaranteed public investment in technical education.

He further demanded mandatory inclusion of engineers in national planning bodies and engineering audits for all major projects. These reforms, Kaluba argued, would not only safeguard public interest but also help develop local content and protect Zambian professionals from being sidelined in favor of foreign contractors.

“These proposals are not radical,” Kaluba said. “Rwanda, Kenya, and Ghana are already implementing similar models, and they are seeing measurable developmental results. Why is Zambia still lagging behind?” He emphasized that unless the Constitution itself protects engineering and innovation, the country will remain stuck in a cycle of dependence and missed opportunities.

Kaluba’s intervention comes at a critical time, as the Ministry of Justice and various stakeholders finalize consultations on Bill 7. He urged them to shift their perspective and see the Constitution not merely as a legal framework, but as a developmental instrument that should empower those who are trained to build the nation literally and structurally.

This bold and unfiltered message marks a rare moment of political assertion by the engineering profession in Zambia. It signals a new era where engineers are no longer content to remain in the background while decisions affecting national development are made without their expertise. It also places fresh pressure on lawmakers to rethink what a truly inclusive, future-facing Constitution should look like.

Refusing Gehazi’s Path: How the Mansa Diocese Preserved the Altar- Dr Mwelwa

Refusing Gehazi’s Path: How the Mansa Diocese Preserved the Altar

By Dr Mwelwa

When the altar is approached with gifts wrapped in political allegiance, the Church must decide: will it speak like Elisha, or grab like Gehazi?

In recent days, the Diocese of Mansa stood at such a crossroads. A fundraising event for the Lubwe Mission, meant to celebrate 120 years of Catholic presence in Zambia, found itself surrounded not just by parishioners but by politicians—with cameras rolling, promises made, and donations pledged in broad daylight. K800,000 from the President. 200 bags of mealie meal and two cows from a campaigning minister. A celebration turned into a spectacle. Yet, unlike many others who have stumbled under similar circumstances, the Catholic leadership did not flinch.

The Bishop, Rt. Rev. Patrick Chisanga, had warned his parish priest beforehand: clarity must be established before mixing the sacred with the strategic. The event, however, proceeded without his consent—and the response was firm. Not out of hostility, but from conviction. Not out of ingratitude, but from a deep understanding that once the Church begins accepting silver and garments in exchange for silence or public relations, it has stepped into the shadow of Gehazi.

For was it not Gehazi who, unable to resist the shimmer of Naaman’s riches, ran behind Elisha’s back to accept what the prophet had rejected? And was it not Gehazi who, for this act of opportunism, was struck with the very leprosy that Elisha had healed?

The Diocese of Mansa has done what many in the Evangelical and Pentecostal circles have failed to do: uphold the altar above the offering. In a time when pastors lift placards for politicians during worship, when CDF directives masquerade as benevolence, and when silence is traded for subsidies, the Catholic Church in Mansa reminds us that not every gift is a blessing, and not every donor is sent by God.

This is not a declaration of moral superiority. It is a demonstration of spiritual sobriety.

What distinguishes this act is not simply the refusal of funds, but the deeper theological statement it makes: the Church must not be seen to endorse any political grouping by the manner in which it receives or recognizes gifts. Generosity becomes manipulation the moment it’s publicized at a campaign event. And when churches participate, knowingly or otherwise, they become not only recipients of aid but instruments of propaganda.

This is the same danger we raised earlier regarding the Dorcas Mothers. When church groups are lifted in political directives, praised in partisan spaces, and then receive targeted funds, it ceases to be ministry—it becomes machinery. But unlike those who stood silently when their altars were turned into platforms, the Diocese of Mansa has drawn a line.

They did not dishonor the office of the President. They did not curse the giver. But they reminded all Zambians—and especially the body of Christ—that the prophetic voice is not for hire.

This, then, is a call to every denomination: be it evangelical, charismatic, Reformed, or Catholic. We must revisit the words of Ellen G. White who warned that even the slightest union between church and state, “while it may appear to bring the world nearer to the church, does in reality but bring the church nearer to the world.”

Today, the Diocese of Mansa refused the path of Gehazi. The question now is, will the rest of us?

Will we continue lifting holy hands on Sunday and political placards on Saturday? Will we continue praying for rain while refusing to build boreholes, celebrating donations while our silence sanctifies tribalism, injustice, and repression?

Or will we, like Elisha, say: “As surely as the Lord lives, I will not accept it,” and keep the Church untangled from the snares of statecraft?

The Catholic Church in Mansa has given us an example. Not perfect, but principled. And in this hour, principles are worth more than promises.

KEY TAKEAWAY POINTS FROM UPND’S RESPONSE TO LAZ ON CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT BILL NO. 7 OF 2025

KEY TAKEAWAY POINTS FROM UPND’S RESPONSE TO LAZ ON CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT BILL NO. 7 OF 2025

We Respect LAZ opinion on Bill 7 of 2025.

The UPND acknowledges LAZ’s contribution to Zambia’s law development discourse but disagrees with its claims regarding lack of consultation for the following reasons :

1. Bill No. 7 Originates from the constitution mandate derived from the people of Zambia under article (61) of the constitution of Zambia , and the power conferred on the legislative organ or parliament under article (62) as read together with article (79) of the constitution of Zambia, which vests the power to alter the constitution in parliament.

The challenge we have with the LAZ statement is that they have no legal basis which involves quoting the law to advance their argument for government to go by their proposal except only quoting the theories of law which cannot extinguish the provisions under article (79).

2. Gazetting is part of constitutionally approved process enshrined in article (79) of the constitution of Zambia , where the alteration of the constitution is concerned. The process announced by the Minister of Justice has a platform of stakeholders making submissions and LAZ have deliberately opted to bury their head in the sand .

3. The other thing that LAZ is failing to tell Zambians is whether there is a law that has been breached by the executive ; certainly not a single one has been broken and we challenge them to cite one ;

4. LAZ should realize that the compelling clause which required citizens to vote and approve the clauses they wanted when making the constitution was repealed in 1969 ; this  was a referendum clause .

What LAZ is relying on is a theory which is not binding as far as our laws are concerned .

What is currently binding to include citizens is the referendum for the bill of rights amendment. This referendum  applicable only to the bill of rights amendments .

This said , it meant that power to alter is conferred on the legislative organ . This is the procedure governing the process today .

Notwithstanding their argument, government has assured citizens of the stage of stakeholders submissions which submissions will be considered upon recommendation to parliament by the select committee; while we acknowledge that parliament is not bound to accept the recommendations from the committee, even the Constitution Review Commissions that Zambia has held before were not an end in themselves and they were subjected to the same process .

Lastly , currently , there is no law which compels parliament to accept recommendations from the committee.

We therefore take the submissions from LAZ as good concerns for the future to help us amend the constitution so that it aligns to support the LAZ submissions of today .

Right now , LAZ submissions are mere legal opinions. If we want to take the route being proposed by LAZ and a few stakeholders, we need to amend the constitution to include their concerns .

In the time being , no law has been breached . We urge LAZ to also educate those who can’t read on the content of the bill than wasting time making political overtones .

LAZ plays a critical role in law reform as such , as much as they disagree with the process , they have the responsibility to inform members of the public on the content of the document rather than throwing away the whole document which has progressive proposals .

UPND’s politicisation of Kulima Tower Bus Station in Lusaka is bad for the local governance of our country- Silavwe Jackson

The ruling party’s politicisation of Kulima Tower Bus Station in Lusaka is bad for the local governance of our country.

Peaceful political activities or not must be kept out of the bus stations. What was bad for the PF, must not be tolerated by the UPND.

Bus stations are public places used by civilians, most of them not politically inclined or charged. Public spaces must be neutral.

I urge the drivers from kulima tower bus station who are UPND charged to do their political activities away from the bus stations.

UPND cadres have already established a bus station at heroes stadium. Surely we cannot afford as Nation to turn public spaces into political zones. This is unacceptable.

President Hichilema and the UPND leadership must walk the talk and show leadership and stop this according to their pronouncements.

Ruling or opposition party, political activities in bus stations and markets remain repugnant to the majority Zambians. Sanity must be restored.

For now our Baseload should be hydro and coal, solar should be complimentary- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

For now our Baseload should be hydro and coal, solar should be complimentary

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba wrote;

Zambia possesses significant coal reserves, estimated to be between 10 and 30 megatons (Mt). The majority of these reserves are located in the Southern Province, specifically within the Mid-Zambezi Valley.

These reserves can drive many thermal plants for two hundred years!

Maamba Collieries Limited (MCL) is already operating the Maamba coal mine, which is the largest producer in Zambia, with estimated reserves of 166 million tonnes at the Izuma and Kanzinze Basins.

Other coalfields within the Zambezi Valley include Mulungwa, Siankondobo, Chisanga, and Siambabala.

To diversify our generation capacity, our focus should be the investment in coal fired plants.

The Energy Agency (IEA) estimate the cost of building a modern coal-fired power plant can range from $1.8 million to $4.5 million per megawatt of installed capacity.

We aldo have uranium but the cost of setting up a nuclear power plant maybe prohibitive.
This is the way to go.

We can quickly become an energy hub for the region. While solar plants are good for climate change narrative, let’s be practical, our solution is hydro, in the Northern circuit and thermal plants to form the baseload.

Converting the C5 Squad to a Proper SWAT Team

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba Wrote;

The Anti-Robbery Squad, whose tiny office is located at Lusaka Central Police, Room C5, hence their popular code name C5, must be reformed, modernised and properly equipped.

They use unsecured and unarmoured civilian vehicles especially corollas during their highly risky operations.

With the rising crime, we need to turn the C5 into a proper SWAT team, (Special Weapons And Tactics), a specialized law enforcement unit trained to handle high-risk situations that regular police units are not equipped or trained for, such as armed robbery, hostage situations, barricaded suspects, and active shooter events.

To this effect the SWAT officers need to undergo rigorous training in various tactical skills, including marksmanship, close-quarters combat, breaching, and tactical communication.

Further we need to equip them with specialized weapons, gear, and vehicles to handle high-risk situations effectively. ..not ama corolla and without orotective gear such bullet proof vests. We may need to attach a drone squad and helicopter unit.

Marriage “not an ideal but the measure of true love between a man and a woman”: Pope Leo XIV

Pope Leo XIV declared marriage is “not an ideal but the measure of true love between a man and a woman” and families are “the cradle of the future of humanity” as he celebrated Mass for thousands of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square for the Jubilee of Families, Children, Grandparents and the Elderly on Sunday.

Speaking to families from nearly 120 countries on a sunny morning in Rome, the pontiff emphasized the fundamental role of family relationships in God’s plan for salvation, drawing from the Gospel reading of Jesus’ prayer at the Last Supper.

“Dear friends, we received life before we ever desired it,” Pope Leo XIV said in his homily on June 1. “As soon as we were born, we needed others in order to live; left to ourselves, we would not have survived. Someone else saved us by caring for us in body and spirit. All of us are alive today thanks to a relationship, a free and freeing relationship of human kindness and mutual care.”

The Holy Father made an extended tour of the square in the popemobile before Mass, blessing children and greeting the crowds of families who had traveled to Rome for this major event of the Holy Year of Hope 2025.

THE BATTLE FOR ZAMBIA BEGINS AT THE GRASSROOTS

THE BATTLE FOR ZAMBIA BEGINS AT THE GRASSROOTS

By Augustine Mwewa

Bahati Constituency aspiring candidate

Every five years, Zambia stands at a crossroads. Millions of citizens walk to polling stations with one powerful tool in their hands a vote. But behind every vote is a battle: a battle for hearts, for trust, for vision, and most importantly for strategy.

Winning an election in Zambia is not a game of chance. It is a test of national presence, preparation, and purpose.

The Candidate: More Than a Name
To win the presidency, a candidate must be more than popular they must be a symbol of national unity. Known in all 116 districts, they must speak the language of the people not just linguistically, but emotionally, culturally, and politically.

Zambians want a leader they can identify with; someone who represents all provinces, all tribes, and all classes. A leader with vision, integrity, and a track record of service not just promises

The Party: Not Just a Name, but a Network
To take power, your political party must show strength on the ground. That means fielding candidates in all 156 constituencies across the country, including:

Members of Parliament

Ward Councilors

Council Chairpersons

Mayors

This is not about filling names on a form. It’s about building a living, breathing network of loyal, energized representatives ready to carry the party’s message door to door, market to market, village to village.

The Watchers: Defending Democracy, One Vote at a Time
Even the strongest candidate and party can fall short if votes are not protected. That’s why polling agents are the unsung heroes of every election.

To win, you must place trained, alert, and loyal polling agents in every single polling station from the heart of Lusaka to the farthest corners of Shangombo. These men and women will stand guard over the people’s will, ensuring that every vote is counted and every result is fair.

The Formula for Victory
A presidential candidate with national appeal

A full slate of candidates in all constituencies and wards

Polling agents in every polling station to defend your vote

The Call to Action
Elections are not won on social media. They are won in villages, compounds, churches, bus stops, farms, markets, and town halls. If we want to lead Zambia, we must first walk with Zambia.

This is the time to organize, mobilize, and energize. The road to State House is not paved with slogans it is built with structure, sacrifice, and strategy.

Let’s not just run. Let’s run to win. Zambia is waiting.

ZAMBIA COURTS WESTERN INVESTORS TO TRIPLE COPPER OUTPUT AND DRIVE GREEN GROWTH

Zambia’s approach to global economic engagement has come under scrutiny as government pushes for more Western-backed technological infrastructure to boost copper production.

Speaking during a panel discussion at the 2025 Hamburg Sustainability Conference, Minister of Finance and National Planning, Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane, emphasized the administration’s commitment to leveraging international partnerships to transform the mining sector.

Dr. Musokotwane stated that Zambia is looking to enhance value addition in copper production, a move that could create high-tech jobs and drive economic growth.

He argued that such advancements can only be realized through private-sector investments, citing institutions like the European Union and the World Bank as potential financiers.

In a bold projection, Dr. Musokotwane outlined plans to expand copper production from less than one million tonnes to a staggering three million tonnes over the next decade.

To achieve this, he stressed the importance of creating favorable conditions for private-sector investments that align with global decarbonization efforts.

The minister has urged Western countries to forge high-tech infrastructure partnerships in Zambia’s mining industry, insisting that such collaborations will ensure long-term sustainability and economic advancement.
