WHERE IS MORDECAII? FOUR MONTHS AFTER ‘SELFLESS’ ALBUM RELEASE FANS WONDER

WHERE IS MORDECAII? FOUR MONTHS AFTER ‘SELFLESS’ ALBUM RELEASE FANS WONDER

With sporadic social media presence(only 2 posts in May), Mordecaii’s fans are wondering what is happening with their favorite artist.

The singer released his debut album SELFLESS on January 17th despite accumulating millions of streams – the singer has remained almost silent without promoting his body of work regarded by many as a masterpiece project.

  1. ZERO OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEOS
  2. NO TOUR
  3. NO NEW MUSIC?

The singer parted ways with David Kazadi’s music label Kazadi Music late last year, claiming that after Kazadi left him to manage his music because he was focused on The Icon Zambia S1, he figured he could do it himself.

He also said he noticed his view count was dropping with every new song he released whilst with Kazadi Music. These factors are partly accounting for his departure. (Source: ZMB Talks interview with Mordecaii early this year).

The two parties came to a consensus and released the album after months of delays due to contractual disagreements. But four months later, the 13-track album has not received management attention it deserves to reach maximum favorable success.

This has, in turn, caused raised eyebrows as the artist has also disappeared from the mainstream space.

The artist only released a visualizer for his album lead single, “Amen,” which was highly criticized for its poor video quality – regardless of the criticism, the visualizer has gone ahead to accumulate 890,000 YouTube views in five months.

Has the singer failed to maintain his brand status due to financial reasons, or is his song’s success one luck shot in the bulls eye that he can’t keep the momentum?

Should he go back to Kazadi Music? What is happening to the talented singer? His beloved fans wonder!

Zambia Holds Policy Rate at 14.5% Amid Inflation Relief and Economic Momentum

Zambia Holds Policy Rate at 14.5% Amid Inflation Relief and Economic Momentum

In a move that signals cautious optimism, the Bank of Zambia (BoZ) has maintained the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 14.5 percent. This decision followed the May 21–22 Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting and was announced by Governor Dr. Denny Kalyalya during a media briefing at BoZ headquarters in Lusaka.

The central bank’s decision comes at a time when inflationary pressures are beginning to ease, although challenges remain. Headline inflation dropped slightly to 16.5% in April 2025 from 16.8% in February, mainly driven by a reduction in non-food inflation, which fell to 13.2%. However, food inflation crept up to 18.9% due to short-term supply concerns.

Despite the mixed inflation picture, the BoZ has revised its inflation forecast downwards. The central bank now expects average inflation to stand at 13.8% for the year, with a projected return to the 6–8% target band by the first quarter of 2027. This outlook is supported by lower global crude oil prices and a record maize harvest of 3.6 million metric tonnes.

The foreign exchange market has also shown signs of recovery. Although the Kwacha depreciated by 4.0% in the first quarter of 2025, this marked an improvement from the 4.5% depreciation recorded in the previous quarter. The currency has since appreciated by 3.3% in the second quarter, trading at K27.80 per US dollar as of May 22.

Supporting the foreign exchange market, the BoZ injected US$233.5 million to reduce volatility and meet import demands. This intervention helped stabilize the market, although underlying pressure from foreign currency demand remains a concern.

Mining sector foreign exchange inflows also increased by 5.8% to US$556.8 million in the first quarter, driven by stable copper prices and increased production. Significantly, US$281.1 million of this amount was remitted directly to the central bank as mineral tax payments, strengthening foreign exchange reserves.

Zambia’s gross international reserves rose to US$4.5 billion, providing 4.6 months of import cover. This marks a notable improvement in the country’s external position. Gold reserves also increased to US$233.6 million, with US$8.5 million in gold purchases recorded in the first quarter. However, the valuation remains vulnerable to global gold price volatility.

The domestic credit environment is also improving. Credit to the private sector grew by 15.3% year-on-year in March 2025, driven by increased lending to manufacturing, agriculture, and wholesale trade sectors. This is a positive sign for private sector recovery and business confidence.

The BoZ noted an uptick in economic activity during the first quarter of 2025. The recovery was supported by strong performance in the ICT sector and a resurgence in agriculture. The bumper maize harvest has not only contributed to inflation easing but also supported food security and rural incomes.

Despite the overall progress, the central bank remains cautious. Risks such as high foreign exchange demand, climate-related shocks, and global economic uncertainties could still disrupt the current trajectory. The MPC emphasized that policy decisions will continue to be data-driven.

Governor Kalyalya reaffirmed the BoZ’s commitment to achieving price and financial system stability. “While we see promising signs of recovery and disinflation, our stance will remain vigilant, guided by emerging data and risks,” he stated.

Stakeholders in the business and investment community have welcomed the decision, noting that it provides predictability while anchoring inflation expectations. However, they also stress the need for complementary fiscal reforms to support the monetary policy stance.

As Zambia continues its journey of economic rebuilding and debt restructuring, the central bank’s steady hand signals a commitment to long-term stability. The months ahead will be critical in translating these macro-level gains into inclusive and sustained growth.

” EMMANUEL MWAMBA ‘S DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO DISTORT ZAMBIA’S SUCCESS”

” EMMANUEL MWAMBA ‘S DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO DISTORT ZAMBIA’S SUCCESS”

By Timmy

Folks, let me tell you, Emmanuel Mwamba’s article is a total disaster, a complete failure. He’s trying to distort the facts, to spin the story, but it’s not going to work. Zambia’s success in agriculture is undeniable, believe me.

🔴The Truth About Zambia’s Maize Production

Zambia has registered a higher maize production of 3,655,646 metric tonnes in the 2024/25 Agricultural season, compared to 1,511,143 metric tonnes produced in the 2023/24 agricultural season. That’s a huge increase, folks, a tremendous achievement. And let me tell you, no one, no one, is better than President Hakainde Hichilema at delivering results.

🔴Mwamba’s Lies Exposed

Emmanuel Mwamba wants you to believe that the previous government achieved more, but the facts tell a different story. The numbers don’t lie, folks. The UPND government has made significant strides in agriculture, and this bumper harvest is an example of their hard work and dedication.

🔴What Does This Mean for Zambia?

This achievement is not just about numbers; it’s about the people. It’s about the farmers who worked tirelessly to produce this maize, it’s about the communities who will benefit from this harvest, and it’s about the country’s food security. Zambia is moving in the right direction, folks, and no one can deny it.

🔴A Message to Emmanuel Mwamba

Listen, Emmanuel, I know you’re trying to spin the story, but it’s not going to work. The people of Zambia see through your lies, and they’re not buying it. You need to focus on the facts, not on spreading fake news and propaganda.

🔴What’s Your Take?

Let us know what you think about President Hichilema’s achievements. Share your comments, likes, and shares to show your support for the UPND government’s efforts to rebuild Zambia.

UNACCOUNTED FUNDS: A PATTERN OF CORRUPTION UNDER PF GOVERNMENT”

“UNACCOUNTED FUNDS: A PATTERN OF CORRUPTION UNDER PF GOVERNMENT”

By Timmy

Folks, let me tell you, the PF government’s handling of public funds is a total disaster. Projects like the Mongu stadium and university, which were supposed to be built, have been left unfinished, and nobody knows where the money went. It’s like they vanished into thin air, believe me.

🔴The Chinsali District Debacle

This uncompleted building in Chinsali, standing still since 2013, is a monument to the PF government’s corruption. Money was released, but it never reached its intended purpose. Instead, it was siphoned off into people’s pockets. Sad!

🔴A Pattern of Corruption

This isn’t an isolated incident, folks. There are many projects that were funded, but the money was never accounted for. It’s a massive problem, and it’s time someone took responsibility.

🔴A Message to President Hakainde Hichilema

Listen, President Hakainde, I know you’re trying to follow up on these matters, and that’s great. But let’s be clear: you’re not targeting the opposition; you’re just holding them accountable for their actions. That’s what leaders do, believe me.

🔴What’s Your Take?

Let us know what you think about this issue by commenting below. Share this post with your friends and family to spread the word about the PF government’s mishandling of public funds.

🔴Accountability Now

It’s time for the PF government to answer for their actions. Where did the money go? Who’s responsible? We demand transparency and accountability, folks.

“I HAD TO TAKE THREE JOBS TO TAKE MYSELF TO UNIVERSITY” – FAITH BWALYA ON HER HEAD-TO-HEAD FINALIST ANSWER TO AFRICAN CONTESTANTS’ QUESTION

The head-to-head competition continues today as each continent takes on specific questions tailored to that particular group.

Out of five contestants from each region who qualified as finalists in this fast track, two will proceed to make the overall TOP 8, from which only four will be crowned winners and will make it to the T0P 10 of their continent.

Zambia’s Faith Bwalya and Namibia’s Selma Kamanya have made the top 2 in the head-to-head competition as they answered this question, “Tell us about a moment in you life that you faced a challenge and turned it into an opportunity for growth.”

This was Zambia’s Faith Bwalya’s response, “Thank you so much for that question. Namascarum India, good morning World, my name is Faith Bwalya.

And one thing that I experienced as a challenge was taking myself to university. It took me 5 years to save. I got three jobs, a waitress, media communications assistant, and sales representative.

I failed three times, went to three different universities, and on the fourth time, I took myself to university, and in my second year, I was the only student awarded 100% scholarship from my university.

That taught me one thing, I have the power to do anything, and time will never measure what I can do. I can purchase it, I can do it and I’ll achieve it. And that made me grow as a human being, that made me grow as a female and I believe one day because of my speech it’ll make one little girl believe in her dreams to be who she ever wants to be, thank you.”

Faith Bwalya is now one round away to making it in Africa’s TOP 10 contestants that will proceed in the 72nd edition of Miss World. The head-to-head is happening now live on YouTube.

UPDATE: Faith Bwalya made it to the TOP 10 contestants representating the continent of Africa, becoming the first Zambian representative at the Miss World stage to make it to the quarterfinals of this prestigious peagent

She now has her eyes on making it to TOP 5 and eventually heads to the grand finale that will be held at the HITEX Convention Center on May 31st.

South Africa eases Black Economic Empowerment rules, opening door for Starlink

South Africa eases Black Economic Empowerment rules, opening door for Starlink

South Africa’s Communications and Digital Technologies Minister, Solly Malatsi, has gazetted a draft policy directive to relax Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) licensing requirements for satellite service providers, potentially paving the way for Elon Musk’s Starlink to enter the local market.

The proposed amendment to the Electronic Communications Act aligns regulations with the Amended B-BBEE ICT Sector Code, allowing equity equivalent investment programs (EEIPs) as an alternative to the mandatory 30% ownership by historically disadvantaged groups.

This change aims to boost investment, enhance competition, and expand broadband access while upholding transformation goals through skills development and economic inclusion initiatives. Starlink, which has incorporated a local entity but not yet applied for a license, has been hesitant to comply with South Africa’s ownership rules due to its global policy against local shareholding.

The policy shift follows diplomatic engagements between President Cyril Ramaphosa and U.S President Donald Trump to strengthen South Africa-U.S. ties and address Musk’s concerns about B-BBEE compliance.

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has been directed to update regulations to support new entrants. Public comments on the draft are open until June 23, 2025.

If implemented, this could mark a significant step toward bridging South Africa’s digital divide.

I HAD NO MONEY, THE VERY MOMENT THEY HEARD ME DO THAT TRACK, THEY SIGNED ME – SLAP DEE ON NEW SEQUEL “STORY OF A KING”

I HAD NO MONEY, THE VERY MOMENT THEY HEARD ME DO THAT TRACK, THEY SIGNED ME – SLAP DEE ON NEW SEQUEL “STORY OF A KING”

Rapper Slapdee shared a clip from an interview he did several years ago. The rapper talked about how his name came about, his biggest struggle as an up and coming rapper and getting signed on the spot after a record label heard his song.

Here is what he said in the interview;

“Slap Dee is a name I adopted from high school. See, I used to be Slap Dash back at school. So as I started growing up, growing older, it grew up to be Slap Dee. And people started calling me Dee. Hey Dee, Dee ati bwa? Dee uli che?

The major problem when you’re studying as an artist is finance. You know, I had no money, I had no studio time because I couldn’t afford. So I had to get a deal, I had to get signed.

I couldn’t pay for a single or a demo. Nobody could allow because I didn’t have money. But I’d love to say thank you to Chilo West Records because that’s the label that signed me first.

First time they heard me rap, it was a song called Kanjimbo Katubani. Just those very moments they heard me do that track, they signed me.

Told me come to the studio tomorrow and start working. So you see, those are a few hardships I went through. Now everybody wants to sign me. I wouldn’t say now hip-hop has been accepted.”

The clip has caught the attention of his fans as they applaud his fluency in English and, most importantly, appreciate how far he has come – signifying a strong zeal of resilience and determination most yern to emulate.

“AT THE AGE OF 16, I WAS RAPED,” – SHARES FAITH BWALYA DURING MISS WORLD HEAD-TO-HEAD

“AT THE AGE OF 16, I WAS RAPED,” – SHARES FAITH BWALYA DURING MISS WORLD HEAD-TO-HEAD

Yesterday, American/Caribbeans and African 72nd edition of Miss World contestants shared their “Beauty With A Purpose” presentations in the head-to-head competition.

Zambia’s representative Faith Bwalya took the stand and eloquently shared her story – a tough story that almost brought her to tears, but later composed herself.

She told a story of how she almost got married and how she was raped at the age of 16 years old. Further narrating how this shaped her pursuit to advocate for the marginalized. Below is her full presentation as it can not be said any better than in her own words.

“Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. It is with deep pleasure and honour that I stand before you. Today, I am the flag bearer of 20 million hearts of the bold and the brave, and after seven years, Zambia stands on the Miss World stage.

Beauty in its highest form will never be defined by face or body only. Beauty is the power to impact the world by speaking for the voiceless, the courage to stand for the weak and the compassion, the compassion to make lifelong change. And this impact does not stand any more powerful than in the era of education.

So today my beauty with a purpose is advocating for the children, youths and the differently abled from marginalised communities because I believe this is a power each and everyone should attain and that is why I stand for that.

I come from a beautiful home, loving, but both my parents did not have one thing, an education. And I’ll tell you one thing, coming from Africa and being the first child I knew it was my responsibility to fend for the people I loved.

But in this moment, I was young, my innocence was stripped away from me because I had to fend and stand for the people who needed me to. So I stood there vulnerable in a world that would strip me of my innocence. At the age of 16, I was almost a victim of early marriage.

At the age of 16, I was raped and this is a silence I kept with me for so many years because I didn’t have the power to speak. Had I had the knowledge and understanding that it was okay to speak up, I would have. And after eight years, I share my story today for one reason only.
I stand as a mirror of reflection to the children who are broken, who believe that dreams are too corrupt, that they can not dream or can not achieve one sole purpose.

I am the reflection of that broken still stands. My Beauty with a Purpose advocates for these children by providing them with a skill, educating them about agriculture, impacting them with things as vital as good health.

As a medical personnel who graduated in the field of medical licensure, I understand the need for these children to be able to fend for themselves when it comes to their health. So we have had campaigns that aware them, that teach them on the awareness of good health. We’ve had campaigns that help them with the agriculture knowledge coming from an African sector.

We understand the importance of agriculture, and this is what they need to know. These necessities are things that they need to move with each and every day of their lives because education and skill is one thing no one can ever strip away from you.

We have hosted campaigns, and these campaigns have impacted over 1,000 vulnerable children, orphans, vulnerable, and differently abled youths.
This impact is slowly changing the world. I’ve heard so many people say you can never change the world. I believe it’s because you’re chasing after perfection.

But one thing we need to change is the narrative, and that’s it because changing the world is one step at a time. My advocacy when it comes to education is I believe in one key. Education gives understanding.

Understanding gives knowledge and knowledge gives power, and that power is the one tool that each and every child should have as a birthright. Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Faith Bwalya. Thank you.”

This is part of the fast-track challenges at the Miss World Festival, as the head-to-head continues today. The winners of this segment will automatically progress to the Top 10 of their respective regions.

This will then culminate in the crowning of the new titleholder at the grand finale, which will be held at the HITEX Convention Center on May 31st, in Telangana, India.

Harvard sued President Donald Trump’s administration

0

Harvard sued President Donald Trump’s administration on Friday.

According to legal expert Anna Bower, the school sued the president over the “revocation of its student exchange program certification.”

Aaron Parnas, a Democratic strategist, also flagged the lawsuit, saying Harvard “won’t back down.”

“Harvard is taking legal action against the Trump administration, accusing it of using 7,000 international students as leverage in an unconstitutional effort to punish the university for expressing views protected by the First Amendment,” he wrote.

Harvard itself said in a statement online that the school isn’t itself without its many international students.

Psychologist says Trump is ‘in need of behavior therapy’

One Harvard Professor is railing against President Donald Trump and the administration, claiming they are “in need of behavior therapy,” in a New York Times guest essay.

Steven Pinker is a Professor of psychology at the University who expressed concern for the funding and student visa cancelations facing The Crimson. “These cancellations are not just injustices against individuals,” Pinker wrote. “Honest scholarly inquiry is difficult if researchers constantly have to watch their backs lest a professional remark expose them to character assassination, or if a conservative opinion is treated as a crime.”

Pinker pointed out Ronald Sullivan was dismissed from Harvard as faculty dean of a residential house “when his legal representation of Harvey Weinstein made students feel ‘unsafe.’”

He claimed the move made by Harvard “abdicated its responsibility to educate mature citizens by indulging its students’ emotions rather than teaching them about the Sixth Amendment and the difference between mob justice and the rule of law.” It’s a notable ding at Harvard coming from one of its own professors.

But Pinker believes Trump took this mindset too far, saying, “But a woke madrasa? This is black-and-white splitting, in need of behavior therapy.”

“Simply enumerating cancellations, especially at a large and conspicuous institution like Harvard, can overshadow the vastly greater number of times that heterodox opinions are voiced without anyone making a fuss,” Pinker said. “As troubled as I am by assaults on academic freedom at Harvard, the last-place finish does not pass the smell test.”

The professor also slammed the administration for cutting funding, saying, “Mr. Trump’s strangling of this support will harm Jews more than any president in my lifetime. Many practicing and aspiring scientists are Jewish, and his funding embargo has them watching in horror as they are laid off, their labs are shut down, or their dreams of a career in science go up in smoke.”

He went on to say, “This is immensely more harmful than walking past a ‘Globalize the Intifada’ sign,” and added that Trump’s concern “for Jews is patently disingenuous, given Mr. Trump’s sympathy for Holocaust deniers and Hitler fans.”

Pinker noted throughout the article that both Harvard and Trump are not angels or devils in the situation, “most people are a mix of strengths and flaws.” However, he believes the moves made by Trump lack “the appropriate treatment (as with other imperfect institutions).”

The best thing Pinker believes what should be happening instead of a blatant funding cut “is to diagnose which parts need which remedies, not to cut its carotid and watch it bleed out.”

The Professor also noted Harvard invented one of President Trump’s favorite things, the golf tee. The Crimson was also the launch pad for “Sesame Street,” The National Lampoon, “The Simpsons,” Microsoft, and Facebook.

“He Was Ahead of Time”: AKA’s Old Tweets Go Viral After President Cyril Ramaphosa’s White House Visit

AKA’s Old Tweets Go Viral After Ramaphosa’s White House Visit

The late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes has once again taken centre stage in public discourse—this time, posthumously—following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s recent visit to the White House.

Known for his candid takes on politics, crime, and national identity, AKA’s tweets are now being hailed as prophetic and deeply patriotic.

Cyril Ramaphosa’s Meeting with Trump Sparks Diplomatic Discourse
On Wednesday, May 21, President Cyril Ramaphosa met with former US President Donald Trump to discuss economic ties and to address controversial allegations of systemic violence against white farmers in South Africa.

These claims, often exaggerated or manipulated in Western media, have long fueled diplomatic tensions and public debates around land reform and race relations in the country.

AKA’s Tweets Resurface Amid Renewed Scrutiny
As reports of the meeting circulated, many South Africans turned to social media, digging up old tweets from AKA that seemed eerily relevant. Musician and media personality Robot Boii tweeted,

“Is there an AKA Tweet for what we just witnessed…?”—prompting a flood of screenshots and tributes.

One of the most widely shared tweets reads:

“If there really was a ‘genocide’ or ‘massacre’ … wouldn’t your government have announced the names or number of fatalities?? CNN fed you fake news, and you devoured it.”

The post not only counters the genocide narrative but also highlights AKA’s skepticism of Western media’s portrayal of African issues.

A Voice That Still Resonates

Another tweet by the rapper reads:

“Let no one deter you from your patriotism. Protect your country and its reputation at all costs.”

For many, this statement defines AKA’s enduring impact. “He was ahead of time,” wrote one user on X. Others applauded his fearless honesty and love for South Africa, with one noting,

“Long live a legend who loved his country more than its leaders.”

VIDEO: Chabba Of The Hadzabe Tribe Attempts To Drive A Car

Chabba attempts to drive a car-Image Source@Facebook(Beautiful Lovely Adventures)
Chabba was captured in a now viral video attempting to drive a stationary car together with his friends.

The Hadzabe bushmen of Tanzania live a life deeply connected to nature, untouched by modern conveniences. For Chabba and his friends, a simple yet extraordinary moment unfolded when they encountered something entirely foreign to their way of life – a car. Chabba Attempts To Drive A Car

The Hadzabe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities, rarely interact with vehicles. Their daily routines revolve around tracking wildlife, foraging, and living in harmony with the land. So when Chabba and his companions had the chance to sit inside a stationary car, it became an unforgettable experience.

The vehicle, turned off with no keys in sight, posed no threat of movement. Instead, it served as a curious object of exploration. For these bushmen, accustomed to traversing vast terrains on foot, the enclosed metal structure was both intriguing and unfamiliar.

As they settled into the seats, the Hadzabe tribesmen examined the car’s interior with fascination. The steering wheel, dashboard, and mirrors – all common elements to the modern world – were entirely new to them. Without any intention or possibility of driving, they simply absorbed the novelty of the experience.

Watch the video below:

This brief encounter highlights the vast differences between their traditional lifestyle and the fast-paced, mechanized societies most of us inhabit. For Chabba and his friends, the car was not a means of transportation but rather a strange artifact from another way of life.

Preserving Tradition in a Changing World
The Hadzabe people continue to resist full integration into modern society, maintaining their ancestral customs and survival skills. While the world around them evolves, their deep-rooted connection to nature remains unshaken.

Moments like these – where they interact with modern objects without adopting them – showcase their ability to observe without necessarily assimilating. The car, though momentarily fascinating, holds no practical purpose in their daily bushland existence.

Images of Kid Cudi’s fire-damaged Porsche were presented as evidence in Diddy’s trial

Kid Cudi took the stand for the first time in Diddy’s long-awaited sex trafficking trial. The rapper recalled the Bad Boy founder allegedly breaking into his home, traumatizing his dog, and more over his fling with Cassie. Allegedly, Kid Cudi’s car even sustained some serious damage thanks to a Molotov cocktail. He speculates that Diddy could have allegedly been behind it, though he denied any involvement.

According to TMZ, photos of the car have been entered as exhibits in the case and released to the public. They show the bright red seats of the Porsche melted and charred, and the top of the vehicle slashed open. According to Kid Cudi, the vehicle could not be saved.

During Cassie’s testimony, she alleged that Diddy threatened both her and the “Day ‘n’ Nite” performer after finding out about their relationship.

These aren’t the only disturbing photos that have been released to the public recently, however. Photos of injuries Cassie allegedly sustained at the hands of Diddy were also recently entered as exhibits in the case. The photos show bruises on her body, a large gash above her eye, and more.

Prosecutors also recently unveiled photos captured during the raid of Diddy’s Star Island mansion, which took place in March of last year. The photos show bins full of baby oil, sex toys, drugs, guns, and more. Homeland Security Investigations Agent Gerard Gannon, who was the head of the operation that conducted the raid, took the stand.

Aside from Kid Cudi and Cassie, Dawn Richard, Kerry Morgan, and Cassie’s mother Regina also testified. Diddy’s former assistant George Kaplan also took the stand, alleging that he witnessed his then-boss abusing Cassie but did not intervene out of fear of losing his job.

Love Triangle Gone Wrong: Zim MP Ambushed At Hotel With Married Woman

MP Tanatsiwa Mukombori Ambushed At Hotel With Married Woman
A late-night hotel drama turned violent when Member of Parliament Tanatsiwa Mukombori allegedly found himself at the centre of a love triangle involving a married woman. The incident ended with gunfire and a damaged vehicle.

‘He was waiting for them’
The chaos unfolded on the night of May 20 at a Harare hotel. Mukombori, MP for Masvingo South, had reportedly been in the company of a married woman in his hotel room before they left together in her white Nissan X-Trail, only to return just before 9PM.

“When they pulled up at the hotel, the husband Wilson Mutambwani was lying in wait in a Toyota Aqua. He must have got information that she was there,” — a police source told ZimLive.

The 38-year-old Mutambwani, who works at a panel beating shop in Msasa, allegedly confronted Mukombori in the car park.

“The suspect assaulted the MP before pulling a pistol and shooting at the windscreen of his parked Ford Ranger,”
the source added.

It has since emerged that the weapon used was an air-powered pellet gun. The MP was not injured.

“It was absolute carnage,”
said the source. “The suspect then grabbed the woman’s handbag with her car keys and phone before jumping in his car. The wife also got in the Aqua and they left.”

A tense return the next day
The drama didn’t end there. On May 21, the couple returned to the hotel in a taxi at around 3PM to retrieve the X-Trail, which had been left overnight in the parking lot.

The woman later told police that she was in the process of divorcing Mutambwani but that he was refusing to accept the separation.

Mutambwani has since been charged with malicious damage to property and assault. An air pistol was recovered and seized by authorities.

Mukombori has declined to comment on the matter.

Ford Recalls 2024 Rangers in Southern Africa Over Fault That Could Cause Accidents

Ford Recalls 2024 Rangers Over Fault That Could Cause Accidents

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa has issued a recall of some 2024 Ford Ranger models due to a serious defect that could increase the chances of a crash or injury.

The recall comes after several other car brands were also flagged by their manufacturers for safety concerns. The National Consumer Commission (NCC) confirmed that all the vehicles under recall, across multiple brands, pose a potential safety risk.

Ford Ranger Recalls 2024 Rangers
Ford revealed that a manufacturing error may have led to the wrong part being installed on some 2024 Ford Rangers. Specifically, a front lower control arm, which helps stabilise the vehicle, may have been incorrectly fitted on the left-hand side of the car.

The NCC explained why that matters:

“The separation of the joint may result in loss of control of the affected wheel, with the corresponding effect on the vehicle handling increasing, which may increase the risk of a crash or injury.”

Affected Areas: Not Just South Africa
The NCC also confirmed that the affected vehicles were not only sold in South Africa, but were also exported to Namibia, Botswana, and Eswatini (Swaziland).

Ford has responded to the issue, saying the problem only affects about 25 vehicles in Southern Africa. The company has urged owners to contact authorised dealerships as soon as possible to have the defect repaired at no cost.

Ford owners in the affected countries are encouraged to take this recall seriously. Although the number of vehicles affected is small, the risk of mechanical failure while driving is significant.

Owners can contact their local Ford dealerships to check if their vehicle is affected and to schedule a free inspection and repair.

Similar Recall in Australia Affects Thousands
This isn’t the first Ranger recall this year. In early May 2025, Ford Australia also issued a major recall affecting 13,490 Ford Ranger and Everest models built between 2022 and 2025.

According to 4×4 Australia, the issue in those vehicles was a defective engine camshaft sprocket, which could break unexpectedly.

Mcebisi Jonas blocked from US

Mcebisi Jonas blocked from US

MVEBISI Jonas’s previous comments that US president Donald Trump was “a racist, homophobic and a narcissistic right-winger” blocked his inclusion from the South African delegation that visited the White House’s Oval Office on Wednesday.

meeting due to past comments on Trump

The comments resurfaced shortly after Ramaphosa announced Jonas’s appointment last month.

Last month, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa  announced that the former deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas as his special envoy to the United States, in an effort to try to rebuild a relationship that has soured badly under President Donald Trump.

Since Trump’s return to the White House in January the U.S. has expelled South Africa’s ambassador and cut financial aid, citing disapproval of its approach to land reform and its genocide case against Washington’s ally Israel at the World Court.

Diddy Dressed Himself As Muslim Woman During Freak Off

Diddy allegedly dressed himself as a Muslim woman to disguise himself during a freak off.
According to the testimony of sex worker, Sharay James, who is also known as The Punisher, he was not initially aware of Diddy during the freaks off due to him employing a disguise.

James said in court: “I could not see his face. He had what the Muslim women wear, where their face is completely covered and you could only see his eyes.”

James said that apart from the veil, Diddy was completely naked and would direct him and Cassie in sexual encounters.

He also testified that he had trouble performing occasionally due to Diddy directing his actions during the freak offs.

He testified: “Me, personally, a sexual scenario with a woman’s partner present actively giving directions was not the norm for me, so it created some discomfort that could affect my performance.”

James is so far the second sex worker to testify during Diddy’s trial.

The prosecution’s first witness was male escort, Daniel Philip, who claimed that Cassie once asked him to urinate in her mouth during a freak off.

It was previously said by prosecutor, Emily Johnson that: “Cassie will tell you that she felt like she was choking when Combs made an escort urinate in her mouth.”

Philip also detailed that he had difficulties “staying hard” in the presence of Diddy after witnessing the mogul allegedly abuse Cassie and that he would not be paid if he could not perform sexually.

His testimony alleged that he saw Diddy throw a bottle at his then girlfriend before the producer grabbed her by the hair and dragged her into another room.

Philip then claims he heard slapping noises coming from the other room.

Asked why he did not intervene, Philip said: “I was shocked. It came out of nowhere. I was terrified. I didn’t know what to do. In my mind … if I tried to do something I might lose my life.” He added, “My thoughts were, [Combs] was someone with unlimited power. … My life was at risk.”

Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The trial continues.

Meek Mill Reveals The Craziest Thing He Saw At A Diddy Party

Meek Mill has revealed the craziest thing he ever saw when attending one of Diddy‘s parties.

In since deleted posts on X, Meek addressed the allegations against his former friend including his own mention in one of the many lawsuits filed against the Bad Boy Records founder.

The Philadelphia rapper said: “In the mist of Diddy on ‘FEDERAL’ trial I wanna bring back up ‘lil rod’ and his lawsuit that was dropped? He never said my name but these blogs amplified that whole agenda against me. My culture don’t believe it but it’s an attack on my brand..I wanna get to the bottom of it!”

Meek then revealed the wildest thing he saw at at Diddy party was simply drug related: “Just to put that on public record …. and the craziest thing I seen at a puff party is ‘coke vibes’ and that’s going on at all these parties. I’m from Norf Philly. I had millions since I was 23! I don’t even wanna be addicted to weed! Not judging but I see it different!”

As previously reported, producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones claimed in a February lawsuit against Diddy that “Mr. Combs informed [him] that he had engaged in sexual intercourse” with an unnamed rapper, as well as an unnamed R&B singer and Bad Boy producer Stevie J.

A footnote described the former as “a Philadelphia rapper who dated Nicki Minaj,” which fans immediately identified as Meek Mill.

Many believe that the R&B singer, who the lawsuit points out “performed at the Super Bowl and had a successful Vegas residency,” is Usher.

The “Dreams and Nightmares” rapper quickly denounced the claims.

He wrote: “The way you n-ggas coming on the sick now… I can’t wait to meet akademiks lol they know I drop tomar this they damage control this net getting too weird.”

“I’m from Philly I don’t do coke or freaky ass molly … nobody won’t even offer me coke because I’m that heavy …. No man or watt would ever approach me about gay activity and the whole place don’t get flipped … woke up seeing this on every blog like they know I’m coming! Lol,” he added.

South Africa handed over on a silver platter, says Mbuyiseni Ndlozi

South Africa handed over on a silver platter, says Mbuyiseni Ndlozi

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, former EFF MP and political analyst, has sharply criticized President Cyril Ramaphosa’s recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.

In a social media post, Ndlozi expressed that the encounter felt like South Africa was “handed over on a silver platter,” implying that Ramaphosa conceded too much to Trump without securing substantial benefits for the nation.

During the May 21 meeting, Trump presented misleading videos alleging a “white genocide” against Afrikaner farmers in South Africa. Ramaphosa calmly refuted these claims, emphasizing that crime in South Africa affects everyone not just white farmers.

Despite his composed response, Ndlozi and other critics argue that the meeting’s outcome was unfavorable for South Africa. Ndlozi noted that while Ramaphosa’s demeanor was commendable, the substance of the meeting left much to be desired.

The meeting highlighted ongoing tensions in U.S.-South Africa relations, particularly regarding issues like land reform and trade policies. While Ramaphosa sought to reset trade relations and promote investments, the encounter underscored the challenges in navigating diplomatic engagements with the Trump administration.

HICHILEMA WILL BE HUMBLED SOON- Fred M’membe

HICHILEMA WILL BE HUMBLED SOON

Mr Hakainde Hichilema is recently quoted to have vowed that he is holding the key to power and that he will not allow anyone to grab the key and lock him out of the country’s presidency. It is further reported that Mr Hichilema made these reckless utterances at a public rally in Southern province’s Kalomo district.

Knowing him the way we do now, we are not surprised that Mr Hichilema made such an irresponsible statement because that’s typical of him to say when he wants to get people’s attention. He gets easily excited at times, especially in front of crowds. In such moments, if he is not lying then he is making illogical declarations. We know how desperate he gets to be heard.

Besides, Mr Hichilema thinks leadership is about bullying, sidelining and terrorizing competitors. Regrettably, Mr Hichilema believes that he can only be a consummate leader by spreading fear, praising himself over nothing, or taking credit on things, he hasn’t earned. His overinflated ego has misled him into believing that he matters most.

This why statements like the one he recently made in Kalomo should not come as a surprise to anyone who has had the privilege to access and deal with a lot of leaders at different stages of life. Anyone with a good perspective on these issues will tell you that Mr Hichilema is seriously lacking in humility, selflessness and devotion to the unity, and growth of this country. For him, everything must be about and around him. It’s about himself!

This is why he has brazenly managed to stifle public debate, creativity, and shrink the online space through the tyrannical Cyber Laws. He doesn’t want anyone to challenge his fake belief that he possesses exceptional competence and accomplishments. Since he likes lying, he wants his lies to occupy the digital and political space without question.

Not only that, he has also managed to use the police to close down the civic and political space. We will soon be going for elections without the real opposition being allowed to hold public rallies in almost four years now. Mr Hichilema has forbidden the real opposition political parties to mobilize and communicate to the people No President since the reintroduction of multiparty politics in this country has ever revoked the constitutional rights of opposition political parties like Mr Hichilema has done.

Like we have rightly observed, Mr Hichilema suffers from acute levels of self-importance, pride and reckless bravado. This delusional mentality can easily be seen even in the manner he speaks publicly. The illusions and manipulation are obvious. But what is even more concerning about Mr Hichilema is that one cannot help but notice that the man clearly sees himself as some sought of messianic figure. No wonder his speeches are frequently littered with self-praise and scorn for others – both those who have led this country before and those aspiring to lead.

Mr Hichilema’s arrogance, pride, entitlement, and illusional mentality is killing this country. One bad term, doesn’t deserve another. Aleya!

Opposition Clash Over Lumezi By-Election Intensifies as Kalaba Hits Back at M’membe, Sikota

Opposition Clash Over Lumezi By-Election Intensifies as Kalaba Hits Back at M’membe, Sikota

By Mark Simuuwe

A sharp rift has emerged among opposition parties over the strategy to field a single candidate in the upcoming Lumezi by-election, with Citizen First President Harry Kalaba vowing his party will field its own candidate—contrary to a proposed united front endorsed by Socialist Party leader Fred M’membe and others under the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA).

Appearing on the Socialist Hour edition of Hot FM’s Hot Seat program, M’membe claimed that opposition political parties under both the Tonse and UKA banners had reached a consensus to rally behind one candidate for the Lumezi seat, in a bid to defeat the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).

“The opposition has agreed. We are going with one candidate in Lumezi to demonstrate unity and strength,” M’membe declared.

He went further, stating that any other opposition party that chooses to field a separate candidate should be regarded as a “surrogate of the UPND.”

But Harry Kalaba quickly poured cold water on that assertion, maintaining that Citizen First will not be bound by any coalition decision and is moving ahead to contest the seat independently.

“Citizen First will field a candidate in Lumezi. Our goal is to offer credible leadership to the people, not to serve the ambitions of others masquerading as unity,” Kalaba said.

“For the record, Citizen First has always respected the choices of first citizens. We have heard the loud calls for a united opposition. However, it’s important to remember that we have consistently supported genuine unity,” Kalaba said.

He reminded the public and fellow opposition leaders of Citizen First’s role in UKA’s early days, especially during contentious political moments.

“We stood with other leaders in UKA at its inception and supported them when the Edgar Chagwa Lungu (ECL) case was very active. We even shared the campaign stage with ECL when others thought it was political suicide,” Kalaba said, referencing the former President’s contested political return.

Kalaba further pointed to Citizen First’s deliberate decision not to field a candidate in Kawambwa Central, describing it as a demonstration of commitment to opposition solidarity.

“That was a sign of our willingness to put national interest and strategic cooperation first,” he said.

Despite this track record, Kalaba made it clear that Citizen First will contest the Lumezi seat, emphasizing that this should not be misinterpreted as a betrayal of the broader opposition cause.

“We are fielding a candidate in the Lumezi by-election, and that does not mean we don’t mean well to other opposition parties. We will continue working with well-meaning partners who genuinely put the people first,” he stated.

HICHILEMA HAS LAMENTABLY FAILED AND MUST VOTED OUT- Fred M’membe

HICHILEMA HAS LAMENTABLY FAILED AND MUST VOTED OUT

It is now evidently clear that Mr Hakainde Hichilema over promised and has under-delivered. Worse still, there is no hope in him reversing this trend before next year’s elections. Most likely, things will get worse in his remaining months in power. Examples of his failures are by now known by all Zambians and citizens no longer believe his unending promises.

The JCTR Food Basket, which measures the cost of living, gives a very good proxy on the economic policies front, and it shows that quality of life for the majority of Zambians has significantly dropped as people can no longer afford basic necessities.

Another good measure is the exchange rate, which reflects the productivity of the country. Mr Hichilema’s continued deteriorating exchange rate is a reflection of poor productivity in a country, which simply means poor economic policy application and management on his part. Examples range from poor taxation in the mining sector, generally poor fiscal and monetary policies. On the social front, there’s the unplanned education policy, which has lowered the quality of education arising from unmatched staffing and infrastructure levels compared to an increase in pupil intake.

It is evident that cooperating partners are slowly but surely losing faith in Mr Hichilema and his regime with regard to good governance and managing corruption. The democratic space has shrunk as evidenced by passing of restrictive and repressive legislation, selective justice targeting opposition members, paying a blind eye to misdeeds of his league, imbalanced regionally skewed appointments in senior government appointments.

Inexperienced and unprofessional civil servants who engage in partisan governance are also a source of great concern.

Loss of donor funding arising from corruption allegations are a serious source of concern as they dent the reputation of the country and loss of confidence by external stakeholders in our governance system.

Mr Hichilema has been running budget deficits every year, which require external support, and in the absence or withdrawal of such support, it will result in deteriorating social conditions such as health support.

Mr Hichilema has lamentably failed on every front and must be voted out next year.

ZAMBIA CORRECTIONAL SERVICE COMMISSION CLARIFIES NON-INVOLVEMENT IN NIXON CHILANGWA’S FUNERAL ATTENDANCE

The Zambia Correctional Service Commission has clarified that it had no involvement or prior knowledge of incarcerated former Kawambwa member of parliament Nixon Chilangwa’s attendance at his late wife’s funeral.

This follows images of Mr. Chilangwa at the funeral which have been widely shared on social media.

Addressing the media in Lusaka this Morning, Commission Chairperson Evaristo Kalonga says such matters fall outside the commission`s jurisdiction and are solely handled by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the correctional service command.

Mr. Kalonga explains that the commission’s core mandate is strictly human resource management within the correctional service, including officer promotions, retirements, confirmations as well as staff welfare, and not decisions related to inmate movements.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kalonga also highlighted efforts to improve inmate welfare and decongest facilities, citing the construction of new prison cells in Senanga and Kaoma through Constituency Development Fund-CDF- support.

OPPOSITION UNITY GAINING MOMENTUM AHEAD OF 2026 — DR. M’MEMBE

OPPOSITION UNITY GAINING MOMENTUM AHEAD OF 2026 — DR. M’MEMBE

Caracas… Thursday May 22, 2025 – Socialist Party (SP) President Dr. Fred M’membe has issued a statement challenging the ruling UPND and President Hakainde Hichilema’s assertion that there is no viable alternative political party capable of unseating them in the 2026 general elections.

In a statement released to the press, Dr. M’membe called out President Hichilema and his party for engaging in “self-deception and self-sabotage” by claiming political invincibility.

He stated that such remarks were an attempt to mislead and manipulate the electorate.

He contended that the real opposition facing the UPND government came not just from political parties, but from the “suffering majority” of citizens who are enduring the brunt of economic hardships.

According to Dr. M’membe, this groundswell of public dissatisfaction would ultimately coalesce around the opposition parties.

Dr. M’membe also suggested that within the UPND itself, a divide was emerging between inexperienced members and seasoned politicians who, he said, had begun to acknowledge the party’s waning popularity.

He referenced recent statements from UPND leaders implying uncertainty about achieving a 50% plus one vote majority in 2026 as signs of internal doubt.

“Those experienced in politics within UPND have already sensed the public mood,” Dr. M’membe said, adding that this explains why President Hichilema has begun early campaign activities.

He likened the President’s urgency to that of someone acting out of fear of electoral defeat.

The opposition leader disclosed that UPND’s early campaign moves were driven by panic over the growing unity among opposition factions.

He suggested that the ruling party was “not sleeping well” as rival parties continue to consolidate and collaborate in anticipation of the upcoming elections.

Dr. M’membe went on to highlight ongoing efforts among opposition groups to build a united front, with the goal of unseating the UPND in 2026.

He noted that a decision had been arrived at to field a single parliamentary candidate in Lumezi and other areas where local government by-elections are expected.

He also stressed the importance of public involvement in the political process, stating that the power to bring about change lay in the hands of the people.

He expressed strong confidence in the electorate’s ability to make informed decisions at the ballot box.

“We believe it is the masses who will rescue this country, not individual politicians,” he said. “A people united can never be defeated.”

RESPONSE TO COSMAS CHILESHE: “REALITY ISN’T SELF-GRADED”- Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

RESPONSE TO COSMAS CHILESHE: “REALITY ISN’T SELF-GRADED”

By Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

With all due respect to Mr. Cosmas Chileshe and the UPND Media Team, no amount of justification will erase the daily struggles Zambians are facing. The high cost of living, prolonged load shedding, joblessness, and growing inequality are not abstract “global pressures.” They are harsh, local realities.

It is laughable, if not insulting, for a sitting President to grade himself 7 out of 10 as though leadership is a solo school project. Since when does a student set their own exam, invigilate themselves, mark their own script, and then boast about how well they have passed? That is not confidence. That is delusion.

One wonders: is this the kind of media spin those experts from Kenya came to train you in? Responding to real concerns with staged self-praise and selective memory? If so, they have taught you well in the art of denial, not communication.

Progress is not declared; it is felt. You do not need a press release to know your fridge is empty, your lights are off, or your kwacha buys less every day. Zambians are not waiting for more speeches. They are waiting for relief and results.

So please, spare us the spin. Let the people, not the politicians, decide the true scorecard.

RESPONSE TO OPINION ARTICLE: “HICHILEMA’S IMAGINARY SCORECARD”

RESPONSE TO OPINION ARTICLE: “HICHILEMA’S IMAGINARY SCORECARD” BY THANDIWE KETIS NGOMA

By Cosmas Chileshe, UPND Media Team Member

Blessed day, fellow citizens.

I’ve read with interest the recent article by Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma titled “Hichilema’s Imaginary Scorecard: When Self-Appraisal Becomes National Gaslighting.” While the passion behind the piece is noted, I must respectfully disagree with its framing and tone. Misinformation wrapped in emotion does not serve the truth or our democracy.

Let us begin with the claim that President Hakainde Hichilema’s recent self-assessment is detached from reality. Far from it. The President’s 7 out of 10 scorecard is not a boast—it is a sober reflection of the measurable progress made under difficult circumstances, including global economic headwinds, climate change-induced droughts, and the economic mess inherited in 2021.

On the Economy and Cost of Living

Yes, the cost of living relatively remains high—no one in leadership is denying this. But what is being deliberately ignored is that Zambia is not isolated from global economic pressures. Fuel prices, food inflation, and energy disruptions are being felt across the continent and beyond. What distinguishes Zambia under President Hichilema is that this government is not sitting on its hands.

From restructuring the crippling debt left behind, to securing fertilizer and seed even after a devastating drought, to improving the Bank of Zambia’s independence to control inflation—these are concrete steps. The maize production forecast of over 3.6 million metric tonnes for 2024/25 is a direct result of those policies. That is not spin. That is fact.

On Power and Load Shedding

The current load-shedding crisis is a consequence of reduced water levels in the Kariba Dam due to drought, not neglect. The President has acknowledged the pain citizens are experiencing and, more importantly, is implementing short- and long-term energy diversification strategies—from solar to increased investments in off-grid solutions. Where was this foresight in previous administrations?

On Corruption and Justice

President Hichilema has made clear that corruption—past or present—will be fought head-on. Investigations into past abuses of public resources are ongoing, and no one is above the law. The UPND government has restored the operational independence of investigative wings, unlike the previous system that choked oversight institutions with political interference.

As for the justice system: reforms are underway, and criticism from any quarter—including diplomats—is welcome. However, those criticisms must be contextualized, not weaponized for partisan commentary. Whistleblowers are being protected through updated frameworks, and space for civic activism is far more open today than it was in recent memory.

The President’s Scorecard

The President’s reference to 7 out of 10 fulfilled promises is not guesswork. Key areas include:

• Free education from primary to secondary school
• Debt restructuring progress
• Enhanced CDF allocations to empower communities
• Recruitment of over 40,000 health and education workers
• Increased agricultural support, despite climate setbacks
• Institutional reforms, including restoring public service professionalism
• Economic diplomacy attracting new investments

These are real deliverables—not slogans.

Conclusion

Madam Ngoma is entitled to her opinion—but let us not mistake frustration for fact. Zambia’s challenges are real, but so is the progress.

As UPND, we welcome criticism, but we urge it to be constructive and rooted in reality.

Zambians deserve better, indeed—and that is exactly what the New Dawn government is striving to deliver.

Let’s not discourage hope with cynicism. Let’s build with truth.

“We have noticed that Miles Sampa has deleted the article he published on his page around 12:00 PM this afternoon, in which he made claims that Simon Mwewa Chitambala is committing cybercrime on behalf of President Hakainde Hichilema. Below is the article Miles Sampa published and our response article, which apparently prompted him to delete his original post.

MILES SAMPA’S DESPERATION: TO  GET HIMSELF ARRESTED

By Timmy

It appears Miles Sampa is trying by all means to find a way of getting arrested by the police. His recent article is a clear indication of his desperation. Sampa’s allegations are baseless and lack evidence.

🔴The Truth Revealed

✅The allegation that Chitambala Mwewa is committing cyber crimes on behalf of President Hakainde Hichilema is a big lie. Where’s the evidence?
✅There’s no law that requires the police spokesman to announce every arrest. Sampa’s claim is unfounded.
✅Chitambala Mwewa’s arrest and release on police bond are in line with the law. Sampa’s speculation about preferential treatment is misguided.

🔴Sampa’s Intentions

It’s clear that Sampa is trying to manipulate the narrative and create unnecessary controversy. His article is filled with hearsay and speculation, rather than facts.

🔴A Call to Action

We urge Sampa to focus on responsible journalism, rather than spreading lies and misinformation. We’ll continue to fact-check and hold accountable those who seek to mislead the public.

This is what hon miles sampa published below

(Stopped at Matero police station this morning to inquire status on our Cyber crime complaint on Chitambala Mwewa. They said he was formally arrested a few days ago and will appear in court soon.

Funso; why was the arrest done in secrecy and not even announced by the police spokesperson as they have done when arrested other cyber bullies. They put them in the cells for 48 hrs even beyond but this man was arrwstwd and released on police bond within a few minutes guess because he commits the cyber offences on behalf of President HH given that he is part of his priviledged media team on airforce planes around around the Country.

He gets executive Police arrest treatment when Independent and Oppostion elected members of parliament get arrested for similar offenses and locked up instantly for days before a bond is availed.

Chitambala is neither elected nor eminent or statesman on any score but gets VVIP police treatment. Word is that when he arrived at the police station 2 days ago he was bullying everyone and threatening a journalist that was present. lol

Unacceptable double application of the law. One for these pro HH and another for those not pro HH. Double application of the Rule of Law.

We are however just documenting and not complaining. 2026 is not very far 🤔😊

ZAMBIA RECORDS-BREAKING MAIZE HARVEST IN 2024/25 SEASON AMID RENEWED COMMITMENT TO HARD WORK

ZAMBIA RECORDS-BREAKING MAIZE HARVEST IN 2024/25 SEASON AMID RENEWED COMMITMENT TO HARD WORK

Lusaka, Zambia – 22 May 2025

Zambia has recorded its highest maize production in the 2024/25 farming season, with a forecasted harvest of 3,655,645 metric tonnes—offering renewed hope and national pride following the devastating drought of the previous season.

This milestone has been attributed to the resilience and dedication of Zambian farmers who responded positively to President Hakainde Hichilema’s call for hard work, despite the challenges posed by the 2023/24 drought.

In a statement, Special Assistant to the President for Political Affairs, Mr. Levy Joseph Ngoma, praised the country’s farmers for their perseverance and productivity.

“Under President Hakainde Hichilema, the call to hard work is producing good results,” said Mr. Ngoma. “We are grateful to our hardworking farmers who, despite the setbacks of last season, chose not to give up but to plant again. Today, we have a reason to celebrate.”

The record forecast underscores the impact of the New Dawn Administration’s policies aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, improving resilience to climate shocks, and promoting food security.

The government has reaffirmed its continued support to farmers through investments in extension services, inputs, and irrigation infrastructure to ensure that Zambia remains on the path to agricultural sustainability and economic transformation.

FRED M’MEMBE  USES ECONOMY TO TRAVEL TO VENEZUELA….contrary to propaganda that he used business class, confirms Dr Musumali

SP LEADER USES ECONOMY TO TRAVEL TO VENEZUELA

….contrary to propaganda that he used business class, confirms Dr Musumali

Lusaka… Thursday May 22, 2025 — The opposition Socialist Party (SP) has refuted claims that its leader, Dr. Fred M’membe, has used business class traveling to Venezuela.

Earlier today, Dr. M’membe announced that he was en route to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, where he has been invited to serve as an observer in the upcoming parliamentary and governorship elections scheduled for Sunday.

Malicious reports indicate that Dr. M’membe, Zambia’s Socialist Party leader, was spotted boarding a business class flight to Dubai.

But SP General Secretary Dr. Cosmas Musumali says to the contrary, Dr. M’membe used economy class.

Dr. Musumali said the people should treat that news as fåke and propåganda.

“The news that our President used business class is being championed by those who don’t mean well for our party and the country. Evidence is there that comrade M’membe used economy class. And for someone to sit and generate that misinformation puzzles us when there is enough evidence that comrade M’membe bought economy class ticket. That is propaganda aimed at disregarding our President,” he said.

“When you see such fabrications, just know that they are scared of comrade M’membe as the incoming Republican President and that is why they want to drag him into the mad. Let them just concentrate on improving the lives of our people and not engage in such misinformation.”

Dr. Musumali further said the people of Zambia are not interested in such propaganda as they are focused on seeing change in the country.

K2.5 million property dispute lands Stardy Mwale into legal fight

FORMER Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary Stardy Mwale has been dragged to the Lusaka High Court by a Lusaka resident for allegedly failing to pay K2.5 million for a property he has occupied since April 2017.

Celine Meena Nair initiated legal proceedings against Mwale, seeking the K2.5 million purchase price for leasehold property Stand 20440 Lusaka.

According to court documents filed by Nair, Mwale took possession of the property on April 26, 2017, as a licensee under a written contract of sale dated the same day.

Nair claims that Mwale has defaulted on paying the agreed purchase price and has repeatedly failed, neglected, or refused to make the payment or hand over possession of the property despite numerous requests and reminders.

In addition to Mwale, Nair has also sued the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), which placed a restriction notice on the property on July 19, 2007, limiting its transfer or disposal.

The ACC reportedly renewed this restriction notice on April 12, 2024, for reasons unknown to Nair.

She said the ACC has neither charged her with any offence nor furnished her with any reasons why the restriction notice was placed on her property.

“In consequence of the matter aforesaid, the plaintiff has suffered loss and damage and now claims damages for loss of use of the property, loss of rental income from April 26, 2017,” the court documents filed stated.
