Heartbreaking Scene Unfolds as the Body of jailed PF Ex-minister chilangwa’s wife Arrive for Burial

Heartbreaking Scene Unfolds as Late Mwamba Kambimbi’s Remains Arrive for Burial

It was a moment steeped in sorrow, as the atmosphere turned heavy with grief. The air stood still when the casket carrying the remains of Mwamba Kambimbi the beloved wife of incarcerated former Kawambwa Member of Parliament, Nickson Chilangwa arrived at the family homestead.

Tears flowed freely as family members, some could hardly stand on their own, gave in to the overwhelming weight of loss. Wailing pierced the silence, echoing the pain of a family torn apart not just by death, but by absence. Loved ones reached out to touch the casket, whispering silent prayers, their trembling hands a testament to a love that death had stolen but memory refused to erase.

Her children stood frozen a mixture of shock and sorrow etched across their young faces while elders clung to each other for strength, their shoulders heaving with sobs. The void left by Mwamba’s passing was not just visible; it was tangible.

Even the skies seemed to mourn, casting a muted hue over the gathering as mourners struggled to come to terms with the cruel timing of her death and the aching reality that her husband could not be by her side to bid farewell.

It was a breaking of hearts, of silence, of strength as the family prepared to lay to rest a woman whose final journey would be marked not by words, but by the depth of tears she left behind.

ZAMBIA RISKS ECONOMIC IMBALANCE IF MINING PUSH IGNORES SOCIAL SECTORS, ECONOMIST WARNS

ZAMBIA RISKS ECONOMIC IMBALANCE IF MINING PUSH IGNORES SOCIAL SECTORS, ECONOMIST WARNS

By: Sun FM TV Reporter

A social economist has emphasized the need for Zambia to align efforts across all sectors of the economy to effectively support its mining output targets

Kelvin Chisanga highlighted that the mining sector remains a cornerstone of Zambia’s economic foundation, and achieving the projected three million metric tons of annual copper production will require well-driven policies that prioritize both the development of the mining industry and other critical areas.

Mr. Chisanga stressed that Zambia’s economic stability and growth depend on a multi-sectoral approach, as outlined in the 8th National Development Plan (8NDP).

He noted that while increased mining activities contribute significantly to production, they also pose potential health risks, necessitating improved healthcare services and infrastructure to support the sector’s expansion.

He cautioned against an overemphasis on mining production at the expense of social sectors, advocating for balanced development as a key factor in ensuring long-term sustainability.

ZESCO ASSURES CONSISTENT POWER SUPPLY AS KARIBA WATER LEVELS IMPROVE

ZESCO ASSURES CONSISTENT POWER SUPPLY AS KARIBA WATER LEVELS IMPROVE

ZESCO has assured the nation that electricity generation at the Kariba North Bank Power Station will remain stable enough to support the current load-shedding schedule of 7 hours daily supply, despite ongoing water rationing efforts.

This assurance was made during a stakeholder and media tour of the power facility, where ZESCO Senior Engineer Ken̈ney Singogo briefed participants on the station’s operational status and water management strategy.

He said the water levels have continued to rise and expected to continue doing so until  August.

Eng. Singogo revealed that the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) has allocated ZESCO 13.5 billion cubic litres of water for 2025, which must be carefully managed to last until the next rainy season, expected toward the end of the year.

“Failure to manage this allocation responsibly could disrupt the current load-shedding plan and result in more frequent outages, similar to what we experienced at the end of 2024,” he cautioned.

Although the 2024–2025 rainy season brought relatively good rainfall, the inflows into Lake Kariba have not been sufficient to allow full-capacity generation. Kariba North Bank, with an installed capacity of 1,080 megawatts, is currently operating at reduced output, with some turbines shut down due to limited water availability.

The tour also helped stakeholders appreciate why electricity load-shedding has continued—albeit with reduced hours—despite the good rains recorded this year. It highlighted the delicate balance between rainfall, water inflows, and power generation capacity, reinforcing the need for cautious and sustainable water use.

ZESCO also explained that the challenges faced in hydropower generation have driven the company to diversify its energy portfolio by investing in solar power alternatives, aiming to strengthen energy security and reduce dependence on fluctuating water levels.

“The water levels are rising steadily, which is encouraging,” said Eng. Singogo. “However, unless we receive exceptionally high rainfall, it is unlikely the reservoir will reach full capacity this year.”

Lake Kariba is fed by the Zambezi River, which is jointly managed by Zambia and Zimbabwe. Each country, through its respective power utility—ZESCO and Zimbabwe Power Company—has been allocated 13.5 billion cubic litres of water for electricity generation in 2025.

The Zambezi River Authority remains optimistic that both utilities will adhere strictly to their allocations to preserve the shared resource.

“We are confident that ZESCO and the Zimbabwe Power Company will remain within their prescribed limits,” said ZRA Public Relations and Communications Manager Selusiwe Moyo. “Our hydrologists are continuously monitoring the water levels to ensure accurate and timely advisories are issued to both power stations.”

ZESCO reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the current load-shedding schedule and pledged to update the public should there be any improvements in the water situation and generation capacity.

The tour offered stakeholders and journalists valuable insights into the challenges and critical decisions involved in managing hydroelectric power generation during a period of water scarcity. It also underscored the importance of regional cooperation and prudent resource management to ensure continued energy security.

China Turns to PPPs to Fund Africa’s Infrastructure – Zambia Among Beneficiaries

China Turns to PPPs to Fund Africa’s Infrastructure – Zambia Among Beneficiaries

China has adopted a new model of financing major infrastructure projects in Africa by turning to public-private partnerships (PPPs) a shift that is already reshaping the funding landscape in countries like Zambia.

The move, analysts say, marks a significant departure from Beijing’s earlier strategy of issuing sovereign loans under its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Instead of lending directly to African governments, Chinese companies are now financing and building infrastructure projects in exchange for long-term operational rights, helping to lower debt risks on both sides.

In Zambia, this approach is currently being applied to the long-delayed Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway. The US$650 million project, once marred by financing controversies and multiple false starts, is now progressing under a PPP arrangement. A consortium of Chinese firms AVIC International, Zhenjiang Communications Construction Group, and China Railway Seventh Group has already completed nearly 25% of the 327-kilometre road, which links the capital city to the industrial hub of Copperbelt Province.

The companies will recover their investment by operating the toll road for 22 years before transferring ownership back to the Zambian government.

Similar projects are underway across the continent. In Kenya, the proposed extension of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Naivasha to the Ugandan border is expected to cost US$4.5 billion, with Chinese financiers covering 40% of the cost and securing a 25-year operating license to recoup toll revenues.

China is also behind the successful Nairobi Expressway, operated by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) for 30 years, as well as the Rironi-Mau Summit Road, which was reassigned from French to Chinese contractors due to more favourable PPP terms.

“This PPP approach is the new ‘yellow brick road’ of China-Africa infrastructure development,” said Aly-Khan Satchu, a geoeconomic analyst based in Nairobi. “It reduces risk for China while shifting financial forecasting and economic responsibility away from African governments, many of which have struggled with debt sustainability.”

The PPP model presents a potential win-win for Zambia delivering long-needed infrastructure without adding to the country’s growing external debt, which stood at US$21.6 billion as of December 2024, according to the Ministry of Finance.

However, experts caution that while PPPs offer financial relief upfront, they demand strong contract management, transparency, and long-term planning from host governments.

As Zambia grapples with infrastructure gaps amid fiscal constraints, China’s pivot to PPPs could offer a viable path forward – if managed with accountability and foresight.

THE SUN HAS ONLY 10% OF LIFE REMAINING BEFORE IT SWALLOWS THE EARTH  SAYS ELON MUSK

By CIC.

THE SUN HAS ONLY 10% OF LIFE REMAINING BEFORE IT SWALLOWS THE EARTH  SAYS ELON MUSK.

If you’re banking on Earth being around forever, Elon Musk has some grim news: we’re living on borrowed time and the sun has the final say.

In a recent interview on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Musk gave his cosmic forecast. “Eventually, all life on Earth will be destroyed by the sun,” he said. “The sun is gradually expanding, so we do at some point need to be a multi-planet civilization because Earth will be incinerated.”

And according to Musk, the clock is already ticking. He claims that if Earth has been around for 4.5 billion years, “then Earth only has about 10% more life in it before it gets so hot that life is impossible.”

But Musk isn’t just doomsaying he’s pitching a plan. Colonizing Mars, he argues, is humanity’s best shot at survival. “Mars is life insurance for life collectively,” he told Watters. “We have a long way to go. It’s not just about landing on Mars and fancy equipment. It’s about creating a self-sustaining city on Mars.”

He explains that if a Mars colony can’t operate without constant supplies from Earth, then it’s not real “life insurance.” For it to safeguard humanity’s future, it has to be fully self-sustaining in case Earth is no longer there to support it.

Indian Women who allegedly married 25 different men in 7 months arrested-Economic Times

By: Economic Times

In a shocking case of matrimonial fraud, a 23-year-old indian woman has been arrested by the Rajasthan Police for allegedly marrying 25 men across various states in just seven months. Identified as Anuradha Paswan, she was apprehended in Bhopal by the Sawai Madhopur police and has earned the nickname “loot-and-scoot bride” due to her repeated scams.

According to authorities, Anuradha was part of a well-organised marriage fraud network. She would pose as a bride, legally marry unsuspecting grooms, and then vanish within days, taking with her valuables such as gold, cash, and electronics.

The fraud was exposed when Vishnu Sharma from Sawai Madhopur filed a complaint on May 3. He had paid Rs 2 lakh to agents Sunita and Pappu Meena to find him a bride. Anuradha married him on April 20 in a local court, only to flee on May 2 with his valuables.

Investigation officer Meetha Lal stated that Anuradha had refined her con method. Her past includes working at a hospital in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, and separating from her previous husband after a domestic dispute.

After relocating to Bhopal, she joined a criminal gang specialising in marriage scams. The gang operated through agents who used platforms like WhatsApp to present potential brides, charging clients between Rs 2 to Rs 5 lakh.

Following her escape from Sharma’s home, Anuradha reportedly married another man named Gabbar in Bhopal, duping him of Rs 2 lakh as well. Her arrest came after police deployed an undercover officer as a fake groom. When one of the agents shared her photo, officers seized the chance and detained her.

Diddy’s team chose not to cross-examine Cassie’s mother during her testimony

Cassie Ventura’s mom, Regina, took the stand and not for very long either. David James, Sharay Hayes, and more have also spoken.

Not every testifier in the Diddy trial is going to have much to offer to the prosecutors or the defense. In the case of Cassie’s mom, Regina Ventura, that was the case for them today. Per The Neighborhood Talk and Matthew Russell Lee of Inner City Press, both the court and Diddy’s team had no questions after just 20 minutes of her being on the stand.

The Manhattan federal court asked the basic openers like where she’s from, what’s your connection to the accused, etc. Regina Ventura stated that she met Diddy back in 2006, which was the year that her daughter signed to Bad Boy Records.

The tensest moment of her whole time at the podium came when prosecutors inquired about her knowledge of Cassie and Kid Cudi’s short-lived relationship. That happened in 2011 while the singer was still with Diddy.

Regina was asked in particular about the text message regarding an alleged threat that the mogul sent her daughter. “She said Sean Combs threatened to release a sex tape and go after her and Mr. Mescudi. AUSA: How did you react? Regina Ventura: It made me sick. Sean Combs demanded $20,000, he said to recoup losses due to Mr. Mescudi, from my husband and myself.”

Kenyan Man chops off father’s hands, drains bl00d into bucket and k!lls him over chicken

By: Citizen TV Kenya

Police in Kenya’s  Kirinyaga County have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly killing his father at Karumandi in Gichugu Constituency.

Confirming the incident, Gichugu sub-county Police Commander Johnson Wachira said the suspect, identified as Muchira Murage, was allegedly fighting with his 44-year-old father, Boniface Murage, when the incident happened.

The suspect reported the matter at Kianyaga Police Station and then went to Kianyaga Sub-County Hospital for treatment. His father was brought to the same hospital, where he died on arrival,” Wachira said.

Wachira said the suspect was arrested at Kerugoya Referral Hospital by detectives after he was rushed there by a boda boda rider from Kianyaga, upon realising his father had died.

“He is being guarded by police at Kerugoya Referral Hospital, where he is admitted. He alleges he was also injured, as he had reported the matter at Kianyaga Police Station,” Wachira said.

Shocked relatives, led by his step-mother Mumbi Murage, said the suspect used a sharp panga to cut his father’s two hands off over chicken.

“His drunk father went into his compound after he called him, little did he know his son wanted to kill him. He was draining my husband’s blood into a bucket, and we wondered whether he wanted to drink his father’s blood,” narrated Mumbi.

Two of his neighbours, Mwaniki Ngure and David Njogu, said they rushed to the scene after the deceased cried for help.

“We found two buckets of blood, but the suspect had already fled. We were later told he was seen at Kianyaga Police Station saying they had a fight and he was the one who cut his drunk father’s hands,” Ngure said.

The deceased’s body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home awaiting postmortem.

Diddy’s ex-assistant alleges that Diddy often took ecstasy pills shaped like former President Barack Obama

During Day 7 of the Diddy trial, the mogul’s former assistant David James took the stand and delivered some jaw-dropping allegations.

Overall, the Diddy trial has been a massive story in hip-hop and there is no denying that this has gotten a whole bunch of attention. Tuesday marks Day 7 of the trial, and it started with the mogul’s former assistant on the stand.

David James spoke at the end of the day on Monday, and was back for a brief period in the A.M. It was here where he spoke about the alleged relationship dynamic between Diddy and Cassie. Furthermore, James spoke about his experience witnessing alleged sex workers.

During his testimony, James admitted to doing drugs so that he could keep up with the vibe. In fact, he referred to the drug use as “Diddy-bopping.” It was here where he revealed that the mogul would allegedly engage in ecstasy. However, there is one detail here that is going viral on social media.

Allegedly, these ecstasy pills were in the shape of former President Barack Obama. One has to wonder: who would even make such a thing? Better yet, why would Diddy allegedly take these?

50 Cent Reacts After Cassie’s Mom Alleges Diddy Forced Her To Pay $20K For A Cassie S33x T@p3

Cassie’s mom is the latest person to testify in Diddy’s ongoing criminal case as witnesses continue to take the stand.
Cassie’s mother, Regina, took the witness stand to testify about her daughter’s relationship with Diddy during his criminal trial in New York City on Tuesday.

In doing so, she recalled getting a concerning email from Cassie about a sex tape Diddy allegedly threatened to release. Additionally, she recalled the Bad Boy mogul allegedly demanding thousands of dollars from her.

“I did not understand a lot of it,” Regina Ventura said, as caught by CNN. “The sex tapes threw me. I did not know the other person, but knew that he was going to try to hurt my daughter.”

Around the same time, Regina testified that Diddy allegedly reached out to her requesting $20,000 to “recoup money” he had spent on Cassie. He was allegedly angry about Cassie’s relationship with Kid Cudi.

To pay him off, Regina and her husband allegedly had to take out a home equity loan. “We decided that’s the only way we could get the money,” she said, according to ABC News. “I was scared for my daughter’s safety.” Just days after she wired the money to the Bad Boy account, Diddy allegedly returned it.

When The Shade Room shared notes from the testimony on social media, fans had plenty to say about the trial.

“It was never about the money, it was about having control and seeing them suffer. Of course he gave it back when he wasn’t mad no more,” one user wrote. Another added: “For anybody defending diddy, I pray you don’t have daughters!”

50 Cent has even weighed in, sharing an AI-generated photo of himself with the caption: “He only made Cassie’s mom take out a home equity loan to pay 20k for him to not put out sex tapes. Free itty bitty Diddy! LOL wait is that legal.”

Musk repeats “white genocide” claim, jeopardizing Starlink and Tesla talks with Ramaphosa

Musk repeats “white genocide” claim, jeopardizing Starlink and Tesla talks with Ramaphosa

Elon Musk’s claim of a “white genocide” in South Africa, made at Bloomberg’s Qatar Economic Forum today, May 20, has thrown a potential meeting with President Cyril Ramaphosa into doubt.

Ramaphosa, currently in the U.S., was reportedly set to discuss Starlink’s entry and a Tesla battery plant, with South Africa offering a workaround for Black Economic Empowerment laws.

However, Musk’s accusation that the government promotes anti-white policies, including over 100 discriminatory laws, has sparked outrage. His comments, contradict Ramaphosa’s efforts to attract investment and strain U.S.-South Africa ties, especially given Musk’s role as a Trump advisor.

South African officials reject the “genocide” narrative as baseless, insisting on compliance with local laws.

MUNIR ZULU CONVICTED AGAIN AND SENTENCED TO 9 MONTHS IMPRISONMENT FOR SEDITIOUS PRACTICES

MUNIR ZULU CONVICTED AGAIN AND SENTENCED TO 9 MONTHS IMPRISONMENT FOR SEDITIOUS PRACTICES

By Nelson Zulu

A third Lusaka Magistrate court has convicted and sentenced former Lumezi Member of Parliament Munir Zulu to 9 months imprisonment with hard labour after finding him guilty in 1 count of the 3 counts of seditious practices.

Rendering Judgement this morning, Lusaka Magistrate Faides Hamaundu ruled that Mr. Zulu’s utterances in count one in which he declared Eastern province a “no-go area” and a “danger zone” for Southerners during the disappearance of former independent Petauke Central Member of Parliament Emmanuel Jay Banda were seditious.

However, Magistrate Hamaundu acquitted the former Lumezi lawmaker in counts 2 and 3 on grounds that the allegations were already contained in the first count.

In mitigation, his lawyer Boniface Chiwala pleaded with the court to exercise leniency because Mr. Zulu is a first offender and already serving a prison sentence needed to render a motherly judgement.

In passing judgement, Magistrate Hamaundu sentenced him to 9 months imprisonment with hard labour but suspended the sentence for 12 months provided he does not commit a similar offence during the period.

In this matter, Mr. Zulu was accused of inciting discontent among the Zambian populace through his allegations against president Hakainde Hichilema between May 25 and May 27, 2024.

On April 7th and 30th this year, two separate magistrates convicted Mr. Zulu to 1 year and 18 months’ imprisonment with a fine of K2,000 in penalty units respectively.

I WILL REDUCE COST OF LIVING ONCE IN GOVERNMENT – KALABA

I WILL REDUCE COST OF LIVING ONCE IN GOVERNMENT – KALABA

THE first thing I will do when elected as president of Zambia is to sort out the high cost of living and ensure that every Zambian has three square meals a day, Mr Harry Kalaba has promised.

Mr Kalaba, who is the Citizens First leader has accused the UPND government of plunging the country into the worst ever cost of living that Zambians have never witnessed.

“The first thing I will do as president is to sort out the cost of living. It is so shameful that a party like UPND which promised to reduce the cost of living has failed to do so. As Citizen First, we shall sort out this issue because it is the first thing on our agenda,” Mr Kalaba said.

“They told the Zambian people that mealie meal will be K50, but today the commodity is more than K400, a situation that we have never seen before. So, we can assure the Zambian people that the mess created by President Hakainde Hichilema will be dealt with decisively,” he said.

Mr Kalaba further stated that President Hakainde Hichilema and his lieutenants should refrain from mocking Zambians that they have started reducing the cost of living.

“He must not be mocking hardworking Zambians that he has reduced the cost of living when everything is high. Most of the commodities he found them cheap but look where we are today. It’s mockery of the highest order for his stooges to claim that they have reduced the cost of living. Maybe they are living in different planet or a different country,” he said.

Mr Kalaba stated that once in government, he would endeavour to prioritise the interest of Zambians and ensure they lived a better life.

“In my government, Zambians will be the main priorities. He cannot be giving tax holidays to foreigners whilst his own people are languishing in poverty and squalor. This is an unacceptable and an unimaginable that people can be treated in this manner by a government which they elected themselves,” Mr Kalaba said.

Lungu’s Comeback: The Political Nightmare Haunting President Hichilema- Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Lungu’s Comeback: The Political Nightmare Haunting President Hichilema

By Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu continues to loom large over Zambia’s political landscape not by holding office but by commanding the respect and loyalty of millions. That presence alone has become a nightmare for President Hakainde Hichilema. Once hailed as a beacon of democracy, President Hichilema now clings to power through fear, manipulation, and desperate schemes. His latest move involves using the Constitutional Court to block Edgar Lungu from contesting the 2026 General Elections.

Let us call it what it is: fear, not law. Insecurity, not leadership.

Despite these cowardly attempts, the people remain unshaken. In markets, villages, churches, and on the streets, one word continues to echo louder than any court ruling: Alebwelelapo — he will return. That phrase, more than any opposition party or legal argument, is what truly haunts President Hichilema.

Weaponizing the Constitution to Erase a Rival

This is not about constitutional clarity; it is about political elimination. A leader who believes in his record does not run from a challenge; he meets it head-on. But President Hichilema knows that in a fair fight, Edgar Lungu would bury him politically. Instead of focusing on fixing the economy, creating jobs, or lowering the cost of living, he has twisted the Constitution to silence the one voice he cannot drown out.

This is not democracy; it is dictatorship disguised as law.

Manipulation, Intimidation, and Cheap Tricks

Even after the Constitutional Court ruling, President Hichilema remains insecure as people continue to chant “Alebwelelapo.” Out of desperation, he and his inner circle shifted gears. They went as far as using UPND surrogates like President Nevers Mumba and Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha. These two emerged from the shadows, pretending to offer friendly advice for former President Lungu to retire from active politics. But Zambians are no longer blind. They see the puppets and they know the puppet master.

The desperation did not end there. Reports surfaced that President Hichilema even traveled to South Africa not for diplomacy but to confront President Lungu during a medical review. The offer was to drop his political ambitions and become a statesman, and in return, the bogus charges against his wife and children would be dropped. That is not leadership; that is blackmail.

The Chemotherapy Lie

Still failing to derail him, the UPND resorted to character assassination. Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana took to the airwaves, spreading the falsehood that former President Lungu was undergoing chemotherapy and needed rest. He claimed he had a phone conversation with him while both were in South Africa for medical checkups — a claim President Lungu strongly denied.

Kawana’s actions amounted to yet another calculated smear campaign designed to mislead the public and please his master, President Hichilema. However, this too backfired as people questioned on what grounds Kawana was discussing the former head of state’s private health condition during a press briefing.

Systematic Attacks and Injustice

The UPND government has taken various steps to undermine President Lungu from blocking him from standing in the 2026 General Elections through a flawed Constitutional Court judgment to destabilizing the internal operations of the Patriotic Front party. This includes changing the names of office bearers at the Registrar of Societies to those of UPND surrogate Chabinga and imprisoning PF Members of Parliament on fabricated, trumped-up charges.

Yet none of this has weakened President Lungu. Instead, it has reignited the spirit of the people. In the face of injustice, lies, and relentless political plots, the people have grown more united and resolute. Zambians remember the stability, peace, and leadership that Edgar Lungu once offered and they clearly see the injustice being inflicted upon him.

On social media, disturbing videos of UPND cadres have emerged. In one of the most disgraceful displays of lawlessness, UPND youths from North-Western Province openly issued death threats against former President Lungu, promising to deal with him violently if he dared to challenge President Hichilema. Their threats included:

“We will teach him a lesson that will make him remember the day his mother cried giving birth to him.”

“That idiot should watch his steps.”

Calls for violence, including demands that he be circumcised as a form of humiliation.

Explicit threats of slaughter, promising to kill him if he returns to active politics.

This is not political rhetoric; it is criminal incitement. Yet the UPND-controlled police force watched silently, doing nothing because it fit their agenda.

Obsession, Not Governance

The truth is painful for President Hichilema, but it must be heard. His government is obsessed with one man. Every whisper of Lungu’s name sends his administration into a frenzy of insults, threats, and propaganda. They fear him. They attack him. They stalk his family. All of this is done to satisfy the fragile ego of a man who knows he cannot compete.

This is not governance; it is a full-blown obsession.

Edgar Lungu is the one opponent President Hichilema cannot outmaneuver, cannot intimidate, and cannot outshine. That is why every arm of government has been weaponized to destroy him because removing him from the race is President Hichilema’s only shot at survival.

But will this help him? Not at all. For as long as President Edgar Lungu is around, President Hichilema will face the rude shock of his life. Even if Lungu is blocked, the “Alebwelelapo” slogan will continue to echo in the minds and hearts of the people. Whoever Lungu endorses in 2026 will carry that torch. Alebwelelapo will be fulfilled.

A Final Word to President Hichilema

Mr. President, you were elected to lead, not to eliminate rivals. You were chosen to build, not to destroy. And you were entrusted to uphold democracy, not to suffocate it.

You fear Edgar Lungu because you see what the people see: a leader who never truly left and one who could return stronger than ever. But here is the truth: no amount of court rulings, lies, or threats can silence the will of the people.

So go ahead, keep using the courts. Keep sending your messengers. Keep spinning lies.

But just know this: every time you try to erase Edgar Lungu, the people rise louder with one voice —

ALEBWELAPO.

And that, Mr. President, is what truly keeps you up at night.

THE UNJUST IMPRISONMENT OF HON MABONGA- Fred M’membe

THE UNJUST IMPRISONMENT OF HON MABONGA

The Socialist Party strongly condemns the  imprisonment of the Honourable Member of Parliament for Mfuwe, Mrs Maureen Mabonga, on charges of sedition, a move that reflects an alarming erosion of democratic space and a deepening crisis of governance in our country.

The use of colonial-era sedition laws to silence dissenting voices is a blatant affront to our constitutional democracy and an insult to the sacrifices made by our forebears who fought for freedom, justice, and the right to speak without fear. This unjust act reveals a government that is increasingly intolerant of criticism, allergic to accountability, and prepared to criminalise political expression to maintain its hold on power.

A Member of Parliament, elected by the people, must be free to speak on behalf of their constituents, even when their words are uncomfortable to those in authority. The imprisonment of an MP for expressing political views sets a dangerous precedent, one that threatens not just opposition politicians but all citizens who dare to think and speak freely.

This is not just about one individual it is about the soul of our democracy. Sedition laws belong in the dustbin of history. Their continued use only serves to remind us how far we still have to go in building a Zambia where political freedom is truly respected.

We demand that Hon Mabonga be immediately granted bail pending appeal and the dropping of all politically motivated charges. We further call for the urgent repeal of archaic laws that have no place in a democratic society.

Let it be clear: we will not be silent in the face of injustice. We will continue to speak truth to power, and we will stand with all those who suffer repression for daring to speak on behalf of the people.

An injustice to one is an injustice to all.

Guntila’s brother recalls finding brother’s body hand-cuffed in mortuary, final words

Guntila’s brother recalls finding brother’s body hand-cuffed in mortuary, final words

IN an emotional testimony, a State witness yesterday recounted how he was called to identify his brother, former IBA director general Nguntila Muleya in a mortuary, whose body was found with a wound on the face while handcuffed, lying face up.

Muleya’s brother Muntanga, a banker at Access bank testified that he identified the body after the police removed a towel which was covered on his face.

Muntanga further narrated that his late brother’s last words were that he wanted to be remembered for doing the right thing.

He told Judge Vincent Siloka that on July 23, 2024 he had lunch with the deceased, who complained to him how an accountant at his work place was stressing him and wished he had protection.

Muntanga said his brother mentioned to him that the same accountant was pushing him to approve the purchase of vehicles which were very expensive, of which he later discovered that suppliers for the same vehicles were linked to the person who was pushing him for approvals.

He further testified that the accountant had also applied for a leave of two years, that he wanted to go to Australia but Guntila rejected it.

“I had lunch with my brother Guntila in Longacres at a certain restaurant around 13:00 hours, we initially were supposed to meet at 12:30 hours but he came a bit late and the first thing he said was an apology that he was late because he needed to sort a few issues at the office.”

“We sat together with my brother for about an hour and during the conversations, he mentioned that the reason why he had come late was because he needed to manage one item of an individual, an accountant at IBA,” he said.

Muntanga said his brother also talked about the issue that had been bothering him for a long time in the office, of a person who was pushing him to buy expensive vehicles and wanted to get a leave.

He shared that his brother was also stressed about an issue of a certain media house, that they had a heated conversation with the owner over media ethics.

“And we concluded our conversation, the last thing he said was that he wanted to be remembered for doing the right thing. Just before we left, I paid the bill and he told me that he was going to pay the next bill when we were parting. After that we went on separate ways, that was the last time I spoke to him,” he said.

Muntanga narrated that around 02:00 hours on Wednesday morning, Guntila’s wife called him to inform him that her husband had not gone home.

The wife told Muntanga that she has been trying his phones but they were just ringing and went unanswered.

“So I decided to call his friends to check whether they were with him around that period, I first called his friend Elastone, he said they were not together the previous night, I then called the other friend, Songani Phiri who also confirmed that they were not together.”

“At this stage I kept calling his phone and it went unanswered,” he said.

He said after 10:00 hours on Wednesday, he discovered that his phone had gone off completely.

“I went to police headquarters to report a missing person, after around 15:00 hours, I received a call from the Minister of Information to tell me that my brother was murdered in Njolwe area and I needed to go to Maina Soko to identify his body,” he said .

Muntanga said it was the police officers who led him to identify the body at Maina Soko.

“When I was at the mortuary, they took me to where he was, his face was covered by a towel, he was handcuffed and lying down and his face was facing the ceiling, and hands where tied together.”

“The police asked if I was okay I wanted to see his face, I said I wanted to see him and they removed the towel that covered his face, he had wounds on the part of the face, and I was asked to go upstairs. We went upstairs to the press conference where they broke the news,” he said.

Muntanga said he was then taken to the crime scene where the incident happened.

In this matter, Mithusani Basa Dokowe, 29, a police officer, Caleb Zulu, 30, a police officer of Libala south, Samuel Basa Dokowe, 37, an assistant engineer and Francis Chipyoka, 42, an accountant of Foxdale are charged with murder.

It is alleged that Dokowe, Zulu, Samuel and Chipyoka in Lusaka jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown murdered Muleya.

Muleya’s body was found with Gun-shot wounds on the outskirts of Lusaka called Njolwe area.

FARMERS SALUTED FOR RESILIENCE AS BUMPER HARVEST LOOMS

FARMERS SALUTED FOR RESILIENCE AS BUMPER HARVEST LOOMS

One Love Radio Programme | Lusaka | Monday, 20th May 2025

Report by Enesi B. Kachela |

Zambian farmers have been hailed for their resilience and commitment, with signs pointing to a bumper harvest in the 2024–2025 season raising hopes for national food security and continued economic relief.

Appearing on One Love Radio, Winter Muvombo, Managing Director of the Muvombo Development Initiative (MDI), praised farmers for bouncing back from last season’s drought, supported by improved input delivery, favourable weather and a renewed spirit encouraged by the New Dawn Government under President Hakainde Hichilema.

“Relatively, we can say farmers have fared well,” Muvombo said. “There was doubt about the rains, but the energy and commitment on the ground have turned things around.”

He noted that the government’s increased maize buying price through the FRA helped restore farmer motivation, which had waned due to previously low returns and high input costs.

Mealie Meal Prices Drop Nationwide

Muvombo pointed out that early harvests have already begun to ease pressure on the market, with mealie meal prices falling across the country, a sign that government interventions and strong farmer output are stabilizing the supply chain.

“This is the impact of a functional farming sector: food affordability and security improve,” he said.

Guarding Farmers Against Exploitation

Despite the positive outlook, Muvombo raised concern over the exploitation of farmers by briefcase buyers in areas like Mumbwa, Rufunsa and Chikankata where some farmers are selling maize prematurely due to urgent household needs.

“Some are even selling standing crops. That’s dangerous.” “Government must act quickly to announce FRA buying prices and open depots to stop exploitation and protect food security.”

Post-Harvest Handling and Climate Resilience

He also urged farmers to prioritize crop preservation, noting that planning for storage, buying sacks, and using safe chemicals like Chilindamatula Dust and others is vital in reducing losses.

Muvombo further tied the gains to the growing awareness of climate change, calling for continued resilience and adaptation in agriculture.

“We’ve seen what drought can do. We must be smarter with how we manage our resources and harvests,” he said.

ZIMBA SCHOOL PROJECT NEARS COMPLETION: MDI HEADS SOUTH

Meanwhile, Muvombo revealed that MDI will travel to Zimba District tomorrow to inspect two nearly completed teachers’ houses at Sibajene School. This follows his previous trip to Mapatizya Constituency, where traditional leaders appealed for education infrastructure.

While not donating materials on this trip, Muvombo confirmed that the final batch of building supplies will be delivered soon, with the goal of handing over the facilities to the Ministry of Education in support of free education under the New Dawn Government.

“This is not just about promises, it’s about practical delivery,” he said. “We’re uplifting the education sector with structures that matter.”

From empowering rural farmers to strengthening grassroots education, MDI’s efforts continue to complement the broader goals of President Hichilema’s administration, anchored on dignity, progress and inclusive development.

US actor Denzel Washington receives surprise honorary Palme d’Or in Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival on Monday surprised American actor Denzel Washington with an honorary Palme d’Or to celebrate his four-decade career.

The 70-year-old actor was awarded the prize by director Spike Lee and festival chiefs Thierry Frémaux and Iris Knobloch. “This is my brother, right here”, said Lee.

Washington could barely contain his emotion when accepting his Palme d’Or, in what was his first time attending the festival. “This is a total surprise for me”, he said.

Before handing over the prize, Frémaux introduced a montage of Washington’s most memorable performances, including in Malcolm X and Mo’ Better Blues, two films directed by Spike Lee.

“It’s so precious to have you here”, Frémaux told Washington when presenting the montage.

Other significant performances include his role in Glory, for which he won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1990, and inTraining Day, which earned him the Best Actor prize at the 2002 Academy Awards.

Washington was in France for the premiere of Lee’s newest film Highest 2 Lowest, which also stars Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera and rapper ASAP Rocky.

The film is screening out of competition in Cannes, and marks Washington’s first collaboration with Lee since Inside Man in 2006.

Washington made a lightning trip to the festival on his only day off between two performances of “Othello” on Broadway.

Denzel Washington is the second American actor to receive an honorary Palme d’Or this year, after Robert De Niro, who was celebrated during the festival’s opening ceremony. -Africanews

50 Cent Claims People Are Being Paid To Wear ‘Free Diddy’ Shirts

50 Cent has claimed that people are being paid to wear “Free Diddy” t-shirts outside of his trial in New York.

Throughout Diddy’s trial so far, the Manhattan courtroom has been surrounded by the world’s press, protesters and some noticeable people supporting the mogul, wearing black shirts with “Free Diddy” printed on them.

On Instagram, 50 Cent has cast doubt on whether they are real supporters of the Bad Boy Records founder.

Alongside a brief clip of them standing outside the courthouse, 50 wrote about the protesters: “Diddy paying people to wear Free Diddy shirts is diabolical, but $20 a hour ain’t bad. I might go throw that on for a hour tomorrow. LOL.”

Diddy and his team are yet to comment on the fans that have been vocally supporting him throughout the duration of his trial which is expected to last for around eight more weeks.

50 has been busy roasting Diddy on virtually every day of his sex trafficking trial.

He recently joked about his old rival getting the death penalty even though Diddy cannot be sentenced to capital punishment if found guilty.

50’s jibe was mainly a reaction to Cassie saying that James Cruz was never her real manager as Diddy had to sign off on all decisions.

Posting a screenshot on Instagram of Cassie’s claim that Cruz was managing her with “one hand tied behind his back,” 50 wrote: “Diddy might get the chair after Cruz hit the stand!”

Cruz previously claimed that he managed 50 Cent however the rap legend denied they had any significant relationship.

50 has previously alleged that Cruz was a cocaine addict and that he and Diddy had a sexual relationship, long before the accusations against the Bad Boy founder were made public.

50 wrote in 2022: “This Coke head James Cruz worked for Chris Lighty, he didn’t make no deals. he was just in the meetings. Puffy played with his butt in Miami, ask him about the weird shit they into don’t ask him about me.”

He also said of Cruz: “This guy never managed me, I don’t fuck with Cruz like that. He a whole rat, told on D Rock in the Lil Kim, Fox Hot 97 shit… Keep my name out ya mouth coke head. Talking about Chris was your man, you a sucker, don’t get me started.”

It is not known if Cruz will be called to testify in Diddy’s sex trafficking trial.

South African Afrikaner “Refugee” accused of exploiting U.S. resettlement programme to join her husband in the US

South African Afrikaner “Refugee” accused of exploiting U.S. resettlement programme to join her husband in the US

Jacqueline Botha, a 52-year-old Afrikaner woman, is at the center of controversy after allegedly using the U.S. refugee resettlement programme to gain entry into the country under questionable pretenses.

Botha, who recently left her middle-class suburb in Gqeberha with her three children, joined a group of 49 white South Africans claiming racial persecution. However, critics argue that her true motive was to reunite with her husband, who has been living in the U.S. for several years.

The resettlement effort follows a controversial Trump-era executive order that grants refugee status to South African minorities citing racial discrimination. While some view this policy as a necessary refuge for those facing hostility, others see it as an avenue being manipulated for personal benefit.

Social media users have expressed outrage, with some branding Botha’s move as a “free trip” disguised as asylum, and others mocking what they call a loophole in U.S. immigration policy.

Black neighborhood fights back as Elon Musk factory belches pollutants into air

0

Elon Musk is accused of sidestepping environmental protections in the city of Memphis, and Bloomberg opinion columnist Mary Ellen Klas claims it is “everyone’s problem.”

A Musk supercomputer plant, dubbed Colossus, is powered by methane gas-burning turbines and which dumps its air waste into Southwest Memphis, home of Boxtown, according to the report.

Klas reports Boxtown is a “historically Black community with higher rates of cancer and asthma and a lower life expectancy than other parts of the city.”

The turbine manufacturer’s guidelines state that the engines release an undisclosed amount of ozone-depleting nitrogen oxides and formaldehyde into the air.

According to Bloomberg, “Neither the company nor the Shelby County Health Department released any information about the pollutants emitted by the gas turbines.”

But Boxtown is not having it — and is aggressively pushing back.

The area is already leading Tennessee in emergency room visits for asthma, and this past April was given an “F” for its air quality by the American Lung Association.

It’s not just an air quality problem, according to Klas. Colossus will also be using more electricity and water than is currently available in the city, according to the local utility provider, Memphis Light, Gas, and Water.

The President of Memphis Community Against Pollution KeShaun Pearson urged residents to speak up at an April 25th rally. “We are not a sacrifice zone for the profits of a Billionaire with Technocratic fantasies.”

Memphis officials claim the supercomputer plant will be “transformative” for the region. They allege Colossus will bring jobs, infrastructure, and “long-needed revenue.”

“The regulatory approach appears to have come down to this: trust us,” Klas said.

The report claims, the company has obtained “no environmental permits” and local leaders “have provided a comprehensive explanation for how the startup is going to meet the supercomputer plant’s energy needs.”

Bloomberg made clear this stretches far beyond the city limits of Memphis. Attorney Amanda Garcia told the outlet, “Air pollution doesn’t know borders of states.” Later, adding that the entire region already measures levels of ozone pollution that exceed the federal limit.

Trump curses at Republicans as he orders them not to cut Medicaid

The House Republican budget bill cuts Medicaid, and some deficit hawks want further cuts. But on Tuesday, President Donald Trump told them in no uncertain terms that they had better not do it.

Trump was on Capitol Hill to meet with the caucus after the GOP held legislative votes and meetings under the cloak of darkness to discuss controversial budget cuts.

Senior White House Correspondent Gabe Gutierrez said that Trump heaped praise on Speaker Mike Johnson for jockeying the legislation he praised as his “big beautiful bill.”

“He’s right now speaking to the Republican conference behind closed doors. We’re just getting some video of the ovation that he got as he entered the room,” reported NBC News’ senior White House correspondent Gab Gutierrez. “And the president is also saying that he does not expect there to be any meaningful cuts to Medicaid in this one big, beautiful bill that he’s touting.

“He’s saying that the goal is to focus on just waste, fraud, and abuse. But that might not sit well with some hard-line conservatives who do want to see structural reforms to Medicaid in order to bring down the deficit.”

Writing for Rolling Stone on Monday, Andrew Perez and Asawin Suebsaeng said, “Others in the MAGA elite believe the Republicans on Capitol Hill are intentionally leading the party in a politically ‘suicidal’ direction’ over the cuts.”

NBC News’ chief Capitol Hill correspondent Ryan Nobles said that his two colleagues in the room overheard Trump cursing at the members over Medicaid. His colleagues said, “Trump was very clear” when it came to Medicaid.

“He’s also telling the hardliners on the deficit reductions who want to see those deep Medicaid cuts not to mess with Medicaid. He actually used the ‘F-word’ when talking about Medicaid. He said, don’t F with Medicaid. Only focus on fraud and abuse,” reported Nobles.

It’s unclear if the bill, as it stands, has the support to pass in the U.S. Senate, but several Republican Senators have urged not to make drastic cuts to the program. Trump didn’t say whether or not he would veto the budget bill if there were large cuts in Medicaid.

Trump went on to say that he expects the full caucus to support the bill. When asked about the few who might not, Trump said the “one or two holdouts” who are “grandstanders” will be lumped in with the Democrats who oppose the bill.

Elon Musk pulls plug on GOP spending: ‘I’ve done enough’

A Wall Street Journal report claimed Musk, who is the world’s richest person, no longer sees the need to keep donating money to the party. He’s gave millions during President Donald Trump’s election campaign, as well as financially supporting races since.

“In terms of political spending, I’m going to do a lot less in the future,” he said in a video interview at the Qatar Economic Forum. “I think I’ve done enough.”

“If I see a reason to do political spending in the future, I will do it,” he added. “I do not currently see a reason.”

The Journal reports Musk spent a “considerable fortune helping to elect President Trump in 2024.”

After Trump’s election, he took the helm at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) where he dramatically cut spending — and received a lot of criticism for doing so.

Reports claim the move not only made his popularity go down but also Tesla’s stock value.

Musk is expected to leave DOGE around May 30th. However, according to a Politico report, he is already “fading” into the GOP background.

“I don’t work for the ministry of health” –Wicknell Chivayo on why he doesn’t donate to hospitals

Controversial tenderpreneur Wicknell Chivayo has said he does not donate to the country’s dilapidated hospitals because he does not work for the Ministry of Health and Child Care and will thus continue buying luxury cars for those that endear themselves to him.

The country’s hospitals have come under fresh scrutiny in recent weeks, after Youth Empowerment Minister Tinoda Machakaire’s call for President Emmerson Mnangagwa to urgently address the dire situation in public hospitals.

Machakaire took to social media to lament the deteriorating conditions in public hospitals after his relative sought medical attention at one such facility. He urged President Mnangagwa to visit public hospitals personally to witness the crisis firsthand.

Some questioned why Chivayo, who has been on a spending spree over the last few years, gifting luxury vehicles to a wide spectrum of individuals across the country, was not transferring his benevolence to the country’s ailing health sector.

Replying to one social media user who posed the question to him, Chivayo said he was not obligated to help out.

“Handisi Minister of Health anoona nezve zipatara munyika uye handishamdire Ministry iyoyo. Mota ndinotengera wandada nenguva yandinoda uye vamwe ndino nyora vakawanda veku church handi nyore saka ndinzwisise Chikomana ini ndinoita zvandinoda ne mari yangu.

“Iwe chitengawo ma pain killers woendesa ku zvipatara, handinga goni zvese ndiri one,” Chivayo wrote.

The fury with Chivayo however comes from critics who accuse him of looting millions in public funds from corruptly acquired government tenders.

Many feel the money he is dishing out is effectively public funds that are meant to be funding hospitals among other essential public services.

Boost For Cyril Ramaphosa As Trump Dumps Elon Musk Ahead Of Crucial Talks With South Africa

Cyril Ramaphosa’s Washington Visit Gets Boost As Trump Ditches Musk
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s high-stakes Washington visit has received an unexpected boost as US President Donald Trump has distanced himself from billionaire Elon Musk ahead of crucial US-SA talks.

Trump, who once hailed Musk as a key government ally, has reportedly scrubbed the billionaire’s name from his social media platform, Truth Social. According to Politico, Trump hasn’t mentioned Musk once since early April, despite posting about him several times weekly in previous months.

“He’s finished, done, gone. He polls terribly. People hate him,” a Republican insider told Politico.

Trump turns cold on Elon Musk
Until recently, Elon Musk was central to Trump’s campaign and governance strategy. Appointed head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk spearheaded controversial cuts across federal agencies.

Now, even Trump’s advisers and fundraising emails have gone quiet on the billionaire.

“At the beginning, I was here in D.C. seven days a week for some of the weeks,” Musk told Politico.
“It’s just been a very intense 100 days… the amount of time that is necessary for me to spend here is much less.”

The decision to sideline Musk comes after a poor showing in public opinion polls and ridicule over his campaign appearances. In Wisconsin, his attempts to court voters reportedly backfired.

“He’d go to Wisconsin thinking he can buy people’s votes, wear the cheese hat, act like a 9-year-old… It doesn’t work,” said the unnamed GOP operative.

Ramaphosa’s ‘diplomatic coup’
While Musk’s Washington star fades, Ramaphosa has pulled off what many are calling a diplomatic coup.

He arrived in Washington on Monday 19 May 2025 for a Working Visit aimed at “resetting and revitalising bilateral relations between South Africa and the United States,” according to a statement from the Presidency.

“The visit will focus specifically on reframing bilateral, economic and commercial relations,” the statement said.

Ramaphosa’s meeting with Trump is set for Wednesday, 21 May, and comes after a difficult period between the two nations. South Africa faced intense scrutiny over its relationships with Russia, China, and its stance on the Gaza conflict.

Trump’s sharp tone towards South Africa had escalated after Elon Musk accused the country of unfair regulatory hurdles blocking Starlink, his satellite internet venture. South Africa, however, insists it merely seeks compliance with laws requiring 30% local ownership or equivalent commitments.

“The South African government has offered a nimble approach,” reported the Daily Maverick, citing options such as building training centres and funding community ventures.

Johann Rupert behind the scenes
Behind the breakthrough is South African billionaire Johann Rupert. Sources say Rupert used his influence with Trump to open diplomatic doors.

“Rupert is a true patriot… he told Trump to stop the nonsense and talk to Ramaphosa,” a Capitol Hill source told the Daily Maverick.

Rupert is said to be already in Washington and expected to be part of Ramaphosa’s entourage. The delegation includes key ministers such as Lamola (International Relations), Ntshavheni (Presidency), Tau (Trade), Steenhuisen (Agriculture), and special envoy Mcebisi Jonas.

As Trump cools towards Musk and warms up to Ramaphosa, the South African president may be in a stronger position than anticipated to strike a fresh economic deal.

Megan Thee Stallion Urges “Demon” Tory Lanez To Leave Her Alone

Megan Thee Stallion has been in the news thanks to the re-hashing of the Tory Lanez shooting, and she is not happy about it.
Back in 2020, Megan Thee Stallion was shot in the foot while attending a party at Kylie Jenner’s home. Subsequently, Tory Lanez was arrested and charged, years before he was eventually convicted.

However, the artist is now trying to place the blame on Meg’s friend Kelsey Harris. Although this alleged new “evidence” has yet to be filed to the courts, some fans are now harassing Meg.

On Monday night, Meg took to Tiktok where she sent a clear message to Tory Lanez and all of his supporters.

“At what point are yall gonna stop making me have to re live being shot BY TORY !? At what point are Tory and yall FANS gonna stop lying ? Like how much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY?” Meg wrote. “One min him/ yall said I was never shot now yall letting him play in yall face AGAIN and say I was shot but it wasn’t him oh okay… ?!

“I’m sick of this shit LEAVE ME TF ALONE!!!! HE AINT DARE GET ON THAT STAND AND DENY HE SHOT ME AND THAT WAS HIS CHOICE BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE DID THAT SHIT! IDGAF ABT A BLOG OR A BOT!!! WHY IN TF WOULD ME … MEGAN THEE STALLION HAVE TO LIE ON THIS MF ABT SHOOTING ME! FACTS ARE FACTS, he did it, it was PROVEN IN COURT fuck the hate campaign on the internet TORY YOU SHOT ME !! Ain’t no new fucking evidence yall been saying the same shit for years.”

Eventually, Meg told Tory to just leave her alone completely and went so far as to call him a “demon.” Needless to say, Meg is sick and tired of all of this and it is understandable why.

Ever since the shooting five years ago, there have been endless conspiracy theories about what happened. Some fans have invoked Roc Nation, while others claim that Meg is a liar. However, the courts would say otherwise.

Tory Lanez is currently serving a 10 year prison sentence and will be eligible for parole in 2029. After a prison stabbing last week, there have been increased efforts to get him home early.

However, it does not appear as though these efforts have gone anywhere.

Drake Shares Petition To Pardon Tory Lanez

Drake has again called for Tory Lanez to be released from prison and shared a petition that wants the Canadian rapper pardoned.

On his Instagram Stories, Drake shared a link to a petition that is asking California governor Gavin Newsom to pardon Lanez less than two years into his 10 year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

Drake also wrote: “@torylanez come home soon.”

Drake has been a steadfast supporter of his fellow Canadian, even after his conviction for shooting the Houston Hottie in the foot.

Last year, Drizzy posted a picture of Lanez along with the caption: “3 you.”

Drizzy appeared to rap about the shooting incident on his 2022 song “Circo Loco”: “This bitch lie about getting shots, but she still she a stallion/ She don’t even get the joke, but she still smiling.”

Megan quickly hit back on social media, writing: “Stop using my shooting for clout bitch ass N-ggas! Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot! You n-ggas especially RAP N-GGAS ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of y’all homeboys abused her.”

She added: “And when the mf facts come out remember all y’all hoe ass favorite rappers that stood behind a N-gga that SHOT A FEMALE. People attack me y’all go up for it , i defend myself now I’m doing too much … every time it never ends and this did NOT happen until I came out and said I got shot … y’all don’t fwm okay cool fuck it bye.”

Megan later appeared to take a shot at Drake on her venomous single “Hiss,” spitting: “These n-ggas hate on BBLs and be walkin’ around with the same scars/ Real curvy, no edging, n-ggas fight to get in my section/ Don’t speak on my body count if the dick ain’t worth coming back for seconds/ Cosplay gangsters, fake-ass accents/ Posted in another n-gga hood like a bad bitch.”

Lanez has had a difficult couple of weeks after being stabbed 14 times in prison by a fellow inmate.

He suffered two collapsed lungs in the attack but is expected to make a full recovery.

Chris Brown Denied Bail Over Assault Charges

Chris Brown has been denied bail in the UK after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a man in a nightclub two years ago.

Last week, Brown was taken into custody and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent before appearing in court on Friday (16 May).

During the hearing, the prosecution opposed bail for Brown which was granted by the judge as the R&B singer looked on.

It was also revealed that the alleged incident was captured on CCTV and described as “extremely serious” by the prosecutor.

Brown will remain behind bars until his next hearing on June 13 and only spoke in court to confirm his name and that his current address in the UK is The Lowry Hotel, where he was arrested.

Brown is in the UK for his upcoming Breezy Bowl tour which is scheduled to begin on June 15, just two days after his next hearing.

It is not known how the legal proceedings will affect the tour.

Brown is yet to comment on his arrest or the status of the tour.

It is alleged that Brown assaulted music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in London in 2023.

That same year, Diaw filed a lawsuit against the controversial R&B singer, alleging Brown had inflicted severe and lasting injuries” on him after “beating him over the head” with a bottle of tequila.

Brown was also accused of “ruthlessly” stomping on Diaw’s head while he was on the ground which resulted in him being knocked unconscious.

Diaw further accused Brown of “spreading false rumors” about him in the aftermath of the alleged incident.

It is not known if the lawsuit was settled between the two parties.

It was reported at the time that police attempted to speak to Brown about the incident but he left the country before he could be questioned.

Brown had previously been banned from entering the UK following his conviction for assaulting Rihanna.

The ban on Brown lasted over a decade before it was lifted by former Home Secretary, Priti Patel, in 2020.

At the time, the British government did not reveal their reasons for lifting the ban on Brown entering the country.

Kanye West’s ‘Cuck’ Album Leaked By Hackers

Kanye West‘s Cuck album has been leaked in its entirety by hackers, seemingly in response to the rapper’s antisemitism.

The album was uploaded to Discord by the hackers before it quickly made its way around YouTube and other platforms before being taken down, presumably because of a copyright strike.

The leakers also insinuated that they dropped the album online as revenge for West’s antisemitism.

In a message released online, the leakers said: “Fuck Nazis. 50-year-old loser promoting fascism and hate speech. All proceeds from this groupbuy were donated to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.

West has responded to the leak on social media, writing: “Somebody got a drive and threw it on YouTube and said this is CUCK. What I love about getting blocked on DSPs and having songs leaked and shows cancelled is… It proves everything I’m saying and why I’m saying.”

The controversial project, which features Ku Klux Klan members as its cover art, has already had issues finding distribution.

West released the single “Heil Hitler” on streaming platforms but it was removed less than 24 hours after it was uploaded due to the song’s content.

West hit out at the removal on social media, writing: “Kanye West’s ‘Heil Hitler’ Removed From All Streaming Platforms.”

He also accused platforms of double standards, citing Randy Newman’s controversial song “Rednecks” which features frequent use of the N-word as an example.

West wrote: “While Rednecks by Randy Newman remains streamable They’re literally keeping the n-ggas down.”

Some fans also pointed to other songs such as John Lennon’s “Woman is the N-gger of the World” as another example of hypocrisy by the various streaming companies.

“Heil Hitler” features West double down on claims that he is being stopped from seeing his four children.

He raps: “With all this money and fame, I still can’t get my kids back / With all this money and fame I still can’t see my children.”

West also raps: “I became a Nazi yet bitch, I’m the villain,” before the song goes into a refrain of “N-gga, Heil Hitler.”

Streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music are yet to comment on the song’s removal.

Justin Bieber Denies He Was Ever Groomed By Diddy

Justin Bieber has denied that he was ever groomed by Diddy when he was a teenager.

There have been many rumors regarding the nature of the relationship between the two ever since Diddy first started being accused of sexual misconduct which coincided with speculation about Bieber’s mental health.

However, in a new statement, Bieber has categorically denied ever being a victim of the Bad Boy Records founder.

The statement reads: “Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him. Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.”

It was previously claimed by Suge Knight that Diddy had groomed the singer when he was a rising pop star.

In a lengthy interview with former mobster Michael Franzese from behind bars, the Death Row Records co-founder claimed that Puffy groomed Justin Bieber and had sex with Usher.

“Everybody knows what Puffy did. There’s not one person that didn’t know that Puffy was fucking Usher,” he began.

“It was the saddest thing in the world what they did to Justin Bieber,” he added. “They had sex with him. I hate to say that because I really like Justin Bieber. I feel bad for Justin Bieber.”

Knight continued: “He could have been bigger than Michael Jackson, but the question of the drugs and the stuff, what [Diddy] allowed these grown men to do to this little boy was unhealthy and fucked up. No grown men are supposed to be getting high and doing drugs and drinking with kids.”

Knight then claimed that Diddy and his associates would arrange for Bieber to go on “romantic vacations” with older men.

“He had grown men would take Justin Bieber when he was young to a romantic vacation, showing pictures on Instagram with no women — nobody else but grown, successful men and this little kid,” he added. “Not only is it a bad look, it’s sad.”

Diddy has never commented on the allegations regarding his behavior around Bieber or Usher, who he also mentored when he was a teenager. He has denied all other allegations of sexual assault and criminal conduct.

Tanzania’s leading opposition appears in court as treason case sparks outcry in Tanzania

Tanzania’s leading opposition figure, Tundu Lissu, appeared in court on Monday to face treason charges, a serious offense that carries the death penalty.

He was charged with treason in April after publicly demanding electoral reforms ahead of the nation’s general election scheduled for October.

Wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the phrase “no reforms, no election,” Lissu remained defiant — the same slogan he had used during the rally on April 9 that led to his arrest. Despite the severity of the charge, he appeared upbeat in court, flashing victory signs and urging his supporters not to give in to fear, AP reported.

Lissu, who chairs the Chadema opposition party, refused to attend a prior court session virtually, instead launching a hunger strike to protest the decision to keep him from appearing physically. His resolve in the courtroom echoed his history of resilience: he survived an assassination attempt in 2017 and has spent years in exile due to threats on his life.

The prosecution requested two more weeks to finalize their investigation, with proceedings scheduled to resume on June 2.

The case has drawn regional attention and triggered a government clampdown on Lissu’s allies. Martha Karua, a Kenyan opposition leader who traveled to Tanzania to support Lissu, was deported. Former Kenyan Chief Justice Willy Mutunga and three activists were also detained. In response, Kenya’s foreign ministry secretary, Korir Sing’oei, demanded their immediate release.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s administration faces mounting criticism from human rights groups, who accuse her government of silencing opposition voices with repressive tactics. The government denies any wrongdoing.

Hassan is seeking re-election in October, when voters will also elect members of parliament. Chadema continues to voice concerns over the lack of an independent electoral commission and legislation they claim entrenches the dominance of the ruling CCM party, in power continuously since Tanzania’s independence in 1961.

Diddy Allegedly Looking For A Presidential Pardon

According to sources close to the music and business mogul Diddy, who is facing an increasingly serious federal sex trafficking and racketeering prosecution, members of his inner circle are secretly trying to get a pardon from former US president Donald Trump.

Insiders claim that despite Combs’ recent public distancing from Trump, his tone behind closed doors has changed due to desperation.

“He’s willing to do anything to get out of jail. He’s always been this way. He’s always going to do what he has to do to get out of a situation,” a source who has known Combs for a decade told Rolling Stone.

The same source points up a startling inconsistency in Combs’ approach. The insider goes on to say, “He doesn’t even like Donald Trump,” highlighting how bad things have become for the entrepreneur.

However, Combs’ team and Trump’s political network are apparently in “ongoing and preliminary” conversation, with efforts being discreetly directed toward “making connections with the Trump team.”

In reference to the terminology frequently employed in MAGA-aligned groups to characterize government overreach, one insider even acknowledged that “the words ‘deep state’ came up once or twice.”

Despite the seeming opportunistic nature of their present connection, Trump and Combs have a lengthy history together. “I love Diddy… he’s a good friend of mine; he’s a good guy,” Trump said, referring to Combs as his “friend” during a 2012 episode of Celebrity Apprentice.

Aubrey O’Day, a Bad Boy singer and former member of Danity Kane, said, “I don’t want to answer that question” in response to his query about her viewpoint. The whole f**king tale of it is me. Nevertheless, Trump said, “I will defend him.”

Usher and Ne-Yo are dragged into case singer Dawn Richard gives shocking testimony

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’s trial in New York continued for the second week after testimony from his ex-girlfriend and main accuser, Cassie Ventura, concluded.

The music mogul, 55, is accused of exploiting his status as an entertainment executive to force women, including Cassie, into drug-fueled ‘freak-offs’ with male s£x workers and engaging in other abusive acts against people who relied on him for their careers.

On Monday, singer Dawn Richard testified that the hip-hop mogul threatened to k!ll her if she told anyone that she saw him beat his longtime girlfriend.

Diddy trial: Usher and Ne-Yo are dragged into case singer Dawn Richard gives shocking testimony

In four days on the witness stand last week, Cassie testified that she wanted a loving relationship with Combs during their nearly 11 years together but was instead subjected to weekly drug-fueled ‘freak-offs’ with male s£x workers that left her too exhausted and damaged to pursue her music career.

Diddy’s lawyers have argued that he is guilty of domestic violence, which he is not charged with, but innocent of s£x trafficking and racketeering.

Richard said on the stand Monday that Diddy punched Cassie in the stomach during a private argument at a West Hollywood restaurant in 2010.

She claimed several celebrities were at the dinner, including Usher, Ne-Yo, and superstar music executive Jimmy Iodine.

‘Mr Combs punched Cassie in the stomach,’ Richard told the jury.

‘They were having a private conversation, we were all sitting eating at the tables together. Some of Bad Boy label mates, some celebrities were in the room.

‘They were secretly arguing [and] he punched her in the stomach.

Richard added: ‘[Cassie] immediately bent over and he told her to leave, I could see him point out and she went out.’

The Burn singer was sent to live with Diddy for a year in 1994 by his manager L.A Reid for what has been referred to as ‘Puffy Flavor Camp’. He was just 14 at the time.

ANOTHER JUDGEMENT FOR MUNIR ZULU

ANOTHER JUDGEMENT FOR MUNIR ZULU

The Lusaka Magistrate’s Court is today, May 20, 2025, expected to deliver judgement in the case where jailed Lumezi Member of Parliament, Munir Zulu, is charged with seditious practices.

Magistrate Faides Hamaundu set the date after defence lawyer Boniface Chiwala closed the case for the defence.

In this matter, Mr. Zulu is accused of inciting discontent among the Zambian populace through his allegations against President Hakainde Hichilema.

Between May 25 and May 27, 2024, Mr. Zulu allegedly claimed that President Hichilema directed the Inspector General of Police and the Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security to eliminate him and others, claims purported to incite public discontent.

Mr. Zulu is also accused of declaring the Eastern Province a “no-go area” and a “danger zone” for Southerners actions said to foster ill will and hostility between different communities.

Earlier this month, Lusaka Magistrate Trevor Kasanda sentenced Mr. Zulu to 18 months’ imprisonment with hard labour in a separate case in which he was facing one count of seditious practices and fined him 2,000 Kwacha in penalty units.

In April, the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court also convicted and sentenced Mr. Zulu to one year of imprisonment with hard labour for defaming Road Development Agency (RDA) Board Chairperson Mulchand Kuntawala, along with two Cabinet ministers.
