“LUNGU CRITICIZES HH OVER U.S. AID SUSPENSION DUE TO HEALTH SECTOR CORRUPTION”

“LUNGU CRITICIZES HH OVER U.S. AID SUSPENSION DUE TO HEALTH SECTOR CORRUPTION”

Former President Edgar Lungu has issued a strong statement expressing concern over the recent suspension of U.S. health aid to Zambia, citing alleged corruption in the health sector under the UPND administration.

The announcement by U.S. Ambassador Michael Gonzales regarding the withdrawal of millions in support for Zambia’s HIV, TB, and malaria programs has sparked national debate. Ambassador Gonzales highlighted serious concerns over mismanagement and misuse of funds between 2021 and 2023 raising alarms about the country’s ability to safeguard health sector investments.

In his statement, Mr. Lungu urged the government to take full responsibility for the developments, saying the situation could have a devastating impact on vulnerable citizens who depend on this critical aid. “Zambians are now facing potential shortages of life-saving medications. This is not a partisan issue it’s a matter of national interest,” Lungu said.

He emphasized that previous governments, including his own, worked closely with international partners such as the United States through programs like PEPFAR and the Global Fund to build a resilient public health response. He noted that progress made in areas like antiretroviral therapy, tuberculosis treatment, and malaria control should not be reversed.

While acknowledging that no administration is perfect, Mr. Lungu said the responsibility for addressing the current crisis rests with the current leadership. “It is not helpful to continue placing blame on the past. The issue at hand falls within the timeline of the current administration, and leadership must rise to the challenge,” he said.

The former president also expressed concern about the reputation of institutions like the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA), calling for urgent reforms to restore public and international confidence. “We must protect institutions from reputational damage by ensuring they operate transparently and professionally,” he said.

Lungu further appealed to President Hichilema to take swift corrective action and engage with partners to rebuild trust. “The government must provide clear answers and take steps that demonstrate Zambia’s commitment to good governance and accountability,” he stated.

He called on Zambians to remain hopeful and united, encouraging citizens to hold leaders accountable while preserving national unity. “This is a difficult time, but we have overcome challenges before. What matters now is how we respond,” Lungu said.

In closing, he expressed appreciation to the American people for their longstanding support, reiterating Zambia’s hope for renewed cooperation in the future. “We remain thankful for the partnership with the United States and hopeful that our cooperation in the health sector will continue in the interest of saving lives,” he said.

Make office of Mayor Executive instead of removing term remit and bringing back MPs to the Councils- Nathan Chanda

FORMER LUANSHYA MAYOR WRITES:::

Make office of Mayor Executive instead of removing term remit and bringing back MPs to the Councils.

Looking at the proposed amendment to the constitution especially to do with local authorities l feel there is a need to for wider consultation.

For example bringing Member of Parliament to local authorities will defeat the sprite of decentralisation which separate the roles and responsibilities of MPs and Civic leaders.

The main reason why MPs wants to come to back council it is because of constituency Development Fund (CDF ) not any other reason

Member of Parliament must understand that are policy makers. They formulate laws while Civic leaders make bye laws and do the implementation through chief officers under the local authorities.

My view on Local Government issues which needs to be attended to as a matter of urgency is the harmonizetion of functions of the office of the Mayor/Council Chairperson to that of the Town Clerk and District Commissioner (DC) which brings alot of misunderstanding when it comes to performing functions.

Mayors and Council Chairpersons are Established under article 154(1) and (2 )of the amended 2016 Constitution of Zambia unlike in the past  were Mayors and Council Chairpersons where elected by fellow councillors in accordance with section 16(1) (A)and (B) of the Local Government Act cap  281 of the Laws of Zambia.

Therefore Mayors/Chairpersons must be Executive because there elected in accordance  to article 47(1) directly by electorate in every district ensuring that their allegiance is to the people not to councillors or specific ward

Mayors/ Council Chairpersons must have condition of services clearly spelt out like those of other constitution office holders.

Also looking at the devolved functions and
responsibilities that have been placed on shoulders of councils Mayors must have authority but up to now if you look at the terms and Reference of Mayors for lack of better term are ceremonial by nature.

Councillors condition of services and qualification must be looked at because not every educated leader has monopoly of wisdom. Knowledge and natural wisdom from God is Different. Councillors are community leaders who don’t only need knowledge but also wisdom.

Last but not the least as a seasoned Civic leader who worked under both provisions of the old and amendment constitution as Mayor been elected into by both councillors and residents. l feel  Councils and ward development committees (WDC)must be capacited and supported financially in order to attract more human resource to provide effective and efficient service delivery. Local authorities been the engine of Service delivery  must protected to enjoy its autonomy.

MALANJI FAILS TO GIVE COURT DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE OF HIS BUSINESSES

MALANJI FAILS TO GIVE COURT DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE OF HIS BUSINESSES

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Malanji has admitted that he had not gone with documentary evidence in court to prove that his businesses made millions of Kwacha in the 90s.

During cross-examination yesterday, principal State advocate Gracelia Mulenga asked Malanji if he had documentation to prove that he earned that much from the ‘lucrative’ businesses.

“You agree that you have not produced any document in court to show that the business was doing well?” Ms Mulenga asked, to which the accused said he did not.

The prosecutor reminded the accused that he earlier asserted in his defence that he used to make US$1 million from his power automation business.

“Yet again, you have not brought documents showing that the money [used to buy some properties] was coming from the power automation business?” Ms Mulenga asked the witness, who said “I didn’t”.

The court also heard that while the accused was still minister, he had travelled abroad and made several bank deposits after his return.

The court heard that after Malanji’s return from Turkey in December 2020, he made a US$100,000 deposit.

“On the same day, there was an outward transfer to National Airways Corporation?” Ms Mulenga asked the accused, who said “yes”.

THE TRUE COST OF GOOD GOVERNANCE UNDER PRESIDENT HICHILEMA- Abraham Simpamba

THE TRUE COST OF GOOD GOVERNANCE UNDER PRESIDENT HICHILEMA

Under the so-called good governance of President Hakainde Hichilema, the Zambian people have endured some of the harshest economic and social conditions in our recent history.

We were promised a better Zambia.
What we’ve received instead is hardship disguised as progress.

Under the bad leadership of the past, we experienced load shedding for just a few months.

Today, under good leadership, we endure daily power cuts that stretch for abnormal hours for over a year now. Is this leadership?

Under bad governance, a 25kg bag of mealie meal cost K120.
Today, it’s K400 pushing families to the edge.

Fuel used to be K17 per litre.
Now it’s K32  suffocating transporters, workers, and small businesses across Zambia.

Our farmers used to buy fertilizer at K700 or receive six full bags under FISP.
Now they pay K1,200 per bag  and are even forced to share in medas.
That’s not governance. That’s mockery.

The corruption they promised to fight?
It now thrives under their very noses.
What was once criminal under PF is now tolerated, concealed, and even rewarded.

This is no longer about UPND or PF.
This is about truth, betrayal, and the people’s suffering.
It’s clear: President Hichilema and his administration did not come to serve the people they came to serve themselves.

And when we speak out, they threaten us:
Bring your finger, I bite you.
This arrogance is a clear sign of leadership that has lost touch with reality and the people.

But let this be clear:
We will not be silent. We will not be intimidated.

We stand for the truth.
We stand for the people.
And we stand for a better Zambia one built on accountability, integrity, and real solutions, not deception and broken promises.

Instead of focusing on changing the Constitution to suit their ambitions, the leadership should focus on the real issues affecting Zambians:

Shortages of essential drugs in hospitals

High cost of living and transport

Youth unemployment

Agricultural neglect

A healthy nation is a productive nation.

Ministers like Mulambo Haimbe, Jack Mwiimbu, and Elija Muchima should be ashamed.
When the U.S. Ambassador calls for accountability and transparency, that is not too much to ask it is the bare minimum expected in a democracy.

Zambians, the cost of this so-called good governance is now too high to ignore.

UPND ACCUSED OF CORRUPTION COVER-UP AS $50M HEALTH AID SCANDAL EXPLODES

UPND ACCUSED OF CORRUPTION COVER-UP AS $50M HEALTH AID SCANDAL EXPLODES

The FOX Newspaper

The New Heritage Party (NHP) has launched an attack on President Hakainde Hichilema’s UPND administration, accusing it of “wilful negligence, incompetence and a grand cover-up” following the U.S. government’s withdrawal of $50 million in health sector aid.

The scandal, triggered by revelations from U.S. Ambassador Michael Gonzalez, has exposed deep cracks in Zambia’s governance, especially in how the Ministry of Health handled donor funds meant for life-saving drugs and services.

KEY EXPLOSIVE CLAIMS:
• Audit Covered Up: A forensic audit allegedly confirmed corruption in the Ministry of Health—but the Zambian government never made it public. The NHP questions why Zambians only learned about the scandal from a foreign ambassador.

• Gov’t Knew for 2 Years: The U.S. reportedly held over 33 meetings with the Zambian government about the issue over a two-year period, but no action was taken until the funding was publicly pulled.
• ‘Wake-Up Call’ Too Late: President Hichilema’s recent statement calling the situation a “wake-up call” has been ridiculed by opposition leaders, who say the government “only woke up after being exposed.”

• Minister Asking for Help After Ignoring It: Health Minister Sylvia Masebo is now asking the U.S. for help investigating the scandal—despite the U.S. offering that assistance more than a year ago and getting a “lukewarm response.”

• Public Still in the Dark: Despite repeated calls, the government has not released the audit report, nor outlined how it will replace the lost $50 million or prevent future corruption.

WIDER IMPACT AND POLITICAL FALLOUT

The U.S. is Zambia’s largest health donor, heavily funding HIV/AIDS, maternal health, and malaria programs. The withdrawal of $50 million could cripple medicine supplies in rural areas already hit by shortages.

The NHP’s leader, Chishala Kateka, called the incident “the final nail in the coffin” for UPND credibility. “This isn’t just about lost funds. It’s about lost lives, lost trust, and a lost opportunity to govern with integrity,” she said.

With general elections set for 2026, opposition parties are rallying around this scandal, framing it as evidence that the UPND is no longer fit to lead.

THE CHARGES INVOLVING HELICOPTERS AGAINST ME ARE MISPLACED, MALANJI TELLS COURT

THE CHARGES INVOLVING HELICOPTERS AGAINST ME ARE MISPLACED, MALANJI TELLS COURT

…as he maintains that the aircraft belong to Gibson Power Systems and Gibson Air Charter, the companies where he is one of the directors and shareholders

Lusaka… Tuesday May 13, 2025 — The two helicopters, Bell 430 and Bell 206 JET Ranger were purchased by Gibson Power Systems, and charging me of being in possession of the aircrafts that belong to the company is misplaced, says former Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Malanji.

Malanji denied the allegations that he personally owned and was in possession of Bell 206 Jet Ranger between January 2020 and 2021.

He said he was merely one of the directors and shareholders to the company that bought the helicopters.

This is in a matter in which Malanji, 59, is charged of being in possession of property reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime, while his co-accused, former Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba is charged with wilful failure to comply with applicable law and procedure relating to procurement of property in Turkey.

Testifying during cross-examination by the state in the matter before Lusaka Principal Resident Magistrate Ireen Wishimanga yesterday, Malanji maintained that the source of funds for purchase of helicopters came from Gibson Power Systems and Gibson Air Charter.

He said it was shocking that he was charged with possession of the aircrafts when he did not personally purchase them.

He further stated that the companies associated with him had the capacity to procure a Bell 430 helicopter and Bell 206 jet Ranger as evidenced by the bank statements.

“The bank statements show in black and white that the businesses were making money,” he said.

Malanji also clarified that the companies delayed to settle the bank loan because there were some contentions, and after serious negotiations with the FNB in South Africa, the loan was cleared in 2020.

According to the bank statements from FNB and Stanbic Bank which were presented to court by Malanji as part of his evidence, the companies had over USD 5.950 million turnover between 2010 and 2020.

Cross-examination continues today, May 13, 2025.

FREE EDUCATION IN ZAMBIA ISN’T DEPENDENT ON EU FUNDING”

FREE EDUCATION IN ZAMBIA ISN’T DEPENDENT ON EU FUNDING”

By Timmy

Emmanuel Mwamba’s recent article is a blatant attempt to spread misinformation and undermine the UPND government’s achievements. He implies that free education in Zambia is solely funded by the EU and that if they quit, the program would collapse. This is a lie!

The truth is, the EU has come in to support specific areas of education in Zambia because the free education program is working well. Any sensible funder would only fund where they see progress and accountability. The UPND government’s initiative has attracted funding because of its effectiveness.

We appreciate our cooperating partners, including the EU, for supporting our efforts. However, let’s be clear: free education in Zambia is not solely dependent on external funding. The UPND government has taken bold steps to prioritize education, and we’re proud of the progress we’ve made.

Emmanuel Mwamba should be ashamed of himself for spreading lies and failing to acknowledge the PF government’s shortcomings in education. The UPND government has shown commitment and vision, and we’re reaping the benefits.

Let’s focus on the facts:

✅The EU’s support is additional funding, not the sole source of free education.
✅ The UPND government has demonstrated accountability and progress in education.
✅Free education is a reality in Zambia, and we’re grateful for our cooperating partners.

Don’t believe the lies, ba Mwamba! We have free education in Zambia, and it’s working!

EU Commits Over €500 Million to Power Zambia’s Energy, Infrastructure, and Green Agenda

EU Commits Over €500 Million to Power Zambia’s Energy, Infrastructure, and Green Agenda

The European Union has pledged more than €500 million in grant funding to support Zambia’s energy transition, infrastructure development, and environmental sustainability, reaffirming its long-standing partnership with the country.

The announcement was made during the celebration of 50 years of diplomatic and development cooperation between the EU and Zambia. The funding forms part of the EU’s Global Gateway strategy a key framework aimed at accelerating sustainable investments and connectivity in partner countries.

EU Ambassador to Zambia, Karolina Stasiak, highlighted that the investment will prioritize projects in sustainable energy, education, healthcare, and transport infrastructure. Among the flagship initiatives is the rehabilitation of the Kariba Dam, a critical component of Zambia’s hydroelectric power system, and support for the Zambia-Tanzania Interconnector, which is expected to strengthen regional power trade and improve energy access

“The EU is proud to partner with Zambia in unlocking its green and economic potential. These investments are not only about infrastructure they are about people, opportunity, and the future,” said Ambassador Stasiak.

The EU also pledged support for the development of the Lobito Corridor, an ambitious regional infrastructure project aimed at improving trade connectivity between Zambia, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This corridor is set to bolster trade and stimulate economic growth, especially in Zambia’s Copperbelt and North-Western provinces.

In addition, the EU-Zambia Forest Partnership will channel further resources toward responsible mining practices, forest conservation, and broader green transition efforts key components of Zambia’s climate resilience agenda.

Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon. Brenda Tambatamba, welcomed the EU’s continued commitment, emphasizing that the support aligns with Zambia’s Eighth National Development Plan (8NDP), which prioritizes job creation, climate adaptation, and sustainable trade expansion.

“This partnership goes beyond financial support; it is a symbol of trust and shared vision for a prosperous, resilient, and inclusive Zambia,” said Minister Tambatamba.

The €500 million investment underscores the depth of political and economic relations between Zambia and the EU, aiming to foster long-term growth while addressing urgent development challenges such as energy access, infrastructure deficits, and environmental degradation.

As Zambia navigates its development pathway, the EU’s pledge is expected to play a transformative role in enabling the country to meet its green and inclusive development goals.

GOVERNMENT ADVANCES FORMALISATION OF ARTISANAL MINING

GOVERNMENT ADVANCES FORMALISATION OF ARTISANAL MINING

The Government has stated that it is actively implementing a formalisation strategy to address illegal mining and integrate young miners into mainstream economic activities.

Recently, the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, Paul Kabuswe, announced that the initiative would ensure miners received the necessary support to develop the sector sustainably.

In an update, the government indicated that key developments included the near-completion of new market centres in Mumbwa and Rufunsa, with additional centres planned for Chisamba and Kasempa.

The ministry further noted that, to promote safer mining practices, mercury-free gold washing plants would be installed in all four districts, aiming to eliminate harmful chemicals from the processing cycle.

Meanwhile, Kabuswe reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming artisanal mining into a well-regulated, productive, and environmentally friendly sector.

INCREASED COPPER PRODUCTION SPURS KWACHA GAINS

INCREASED COPPER PRODUCTION SPURS KWACHA GAINS

….as ANDD applauds KCM for prioritizing local contractors and suppliers in doing business on the Copperbelt

Lusaka… Tuesday May 13, 2025 (SMART EAGLES)

The Advocates for National Development and Democracy (ANDD) says the revamping of the mining sector has started impacting positively on the economy as seen with the appreciation of the kwacha against major convertible currencies.

ANDD Executive Director Samuel Banda says this means that even the cost of doing business in the country will reduce following this development.

Mr Banda was of the view that when the kwacha appreciates against major convertible currencies, even the prices of commodities will eventually reduce.

The ANDD Executive Director was speaking when he featured on Prime Television’s “On the Lunch Table” programme in Lusaka.

“The kwacha is trading around K26 against the major convertible currency US dollar due to increased copper production in the country. Previously, we advocated for revamping of the mining sector such as taking Vedanta Resources back to Konkola Copper Mines, which was done by the government. We are happy to see positive results at the mine as we see that they are also supporting local contractors and suppliers,” he said.

“You know that Zambia is an import driven country, when the kwacha appreciates it means the cost of doing business will reduce, and we are actually expecting that this will consequently have a cost effect on prices of goods and services.”

Mr Banda further said  the UPND administration promised to revamp two copper strategic mines in the name of KCM and Mopani Copper Mines.

“The UPND were voted into power because they promised to unlock the mining sector. They promised to revamp KCM and Mopani even Kansenseli Gold Mine in North Western Province. As we are talking today, ANDD is happy, the people of Zambia are happy, stakeholders are happy, SMEs (suppliers and contractors) are happy that Konkola Copper Mines is now operating well. And we are happy that the investor, Vedanta Resources managing KCM is implementing good mining policies at KCM. Just two months ago, Chingola Chambers of Commerce and Industry indicated that 50% of small businesses which had closed, are now running as they have been reopened. What that means is that KCM is directly and indirectly providing employment for Zambians. Those businesses are also contributing to our national treasury,” he added.

Mr Banda said his organisation is happy that KCM is prioritizing local contractors and suppliers which is helping small holder companies to survive in their businesses.

MERIT OVER LOYALTY …Dr. M’membe Calls for Professionalism in Public Service

MERIT OVER LOYALTY

…Dr. M’membe Calls for Professionalism in Public Service

Lusaka… Tuesday May 13, 2025 — Socialist Party President Dr. Fred M’membe has emphasized the critical role of professional conduct among civil servants in ensuring continuity and efficiency in government operations, regardless of political transitions.

In a statement, Dr. M’membe questioned why projects and se

rvice delivery often deteriorate or change drastically with every new administration, attributing this to a lack of professionalism within the civil service.

He argued that civil servants are the “delivery unit” of government policies, and without political neutrality and professional integrity, meaningful continuity cannot be sustained.

According to Dr. M’membe, successive governments have erred by using the civil service as a reward system for party loyalists and cadres, thereby compromising the impartiality and effectiveness of the public service.

He stated that such appointments result in civil servants whose loyalty lies with their political parties rather than the Zambian people, leading to politicized conduct and public campaigning by civil servants on behalf of ruling parties.

He warned that this practice forces incoming governments to overhaul civil service personnel following regime changes, leading to the loss of institutional memory and resetting progress to “ground zero.”

To address this issue, Dr. M’membe proposed that the next government, post-2026, must commit to merit-based appointments in senior civil service positions.

He suggested that only professionals with the appropriate qualifications and experience, including those promoted from within, should be considered.

Furthermore, he urged that civil servants should maintain political neutrality and execute their duties in a professional manner, arguing that such a culture would remove the need for sweeping dismissals when a new government takes office.

Dr. M’membe stressed that political leadership should prioritize delivering services to citizens over rewarding political affiliates.

While acknowledging the need to care for party members, he stated that civil service positions should not be used for patronage.

Instead, he said cadres with the right qualifications must apply like every other citizen and, once appointed, must serve all Zambians, not just a political party.

He concluded by reiterating the Socialist Party’s stance that while the party belongs to its members, the government belongs to all Zambians.

He added that the party has a responsibility to help its cadres gain the qualifications they need and to find alternative means of support outside of government positions.

Afrikaners resettled in U.S. “do not qualify” for refugee status

Afrikaners resettled in U.S. “do not qualify” for refugee status

South African officials has stated that the 49 Afrikaners who departed for the United States under US President Donald Trump’s refugee program do not qualify as refugees under either South African or international law.

The South African government, through its foreign ministry, has criticized the resettlement as “politically motivated” and designed to undermine the country’s constitutional democracy.

They argue that the claims of racial discrimination against Afrikaners, which form the basis of their refugee status in the U.S., are unfounded and do not meet the threshold for persecution under domestic or international refugee law.

The South African Department of International Relations has emphasized that Afrikaners remain among the most economically privileged groups in the country, pointing out the irony of granting them refugee status while vulnerable people from other parts of the world face deportation or denial of asylum in the U.S.

They further assert that South Africa’s land reform policies, particularly the Expropriation Act of 2024, do not involve forced seizures of white-owned land, contrary to claims made by Trump and his administration.

No land has been confiscated under this law, and the government maintains that it aims to address historical inequalities equitably.

However, the Trump administration justifies the resettlement by alleging that Afrikaners face “unjust racial discrimination,” citing the Expropriation Act and instances of violence, such as farm attacks, as evidence of persecution.

A State Department memo claims that the Afrikaners in question have experienced or witnessed “extreme violence with a racial nexus,” including home invasions and murders, some dating back up to 25 years. The U.S. has fast-tracked their applications, processing them in months compared to the typical 18-24 months for other refugees, a move criticized by South African officials and refugee advocates as bypassing established vetting procedures.

Episcopal Church refuses to accommodate Afrikaner refugees from South Africa

Episcopal Church refuses to accommodate Afrikaner refugees from South Africa

The Episcopal Church has announced it will end its nearly 40-year partnership with the U.S. government to resettle refugees, citing moral objections to resettling white Afrikaners from South Africa, classified as refugees by the Trump administration.

Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe called the policy, which fast-tracked Afrikaners while suspending broader refugee admissions, racially biased and at odds with the church’s commitment to justice.

Since the 1980s, Episcopal Migration Ministries has resettled thousands of refugees, but the church will wind down its federally funded program by September 2025.

Critics argue the decision abandons vulnerable Afrikaners facing violence, while supporters praise the church’s stand against perceived favoritism.

The group entered the graveyard to perform the rituals, an act that sparked outrage among local residents who felt the sanctity of their loved ones’ final resting place had been violated.

Police have since instituted Investigations on the matter.

MWENSE WIFE JAILED FOR ASSAULTING POLYGAMOUS HUSBAND

MWENSE WIFE JAILED FOR ASSAULTING POLYGAMOUS HUSBAND

THE Mwense Magistrates Court has sentenced a 39-year-old woman of Nakabeka Village in Chief Lubunda’s Chiefdom to 6 months simple imprisonment for assaulting her polygamous husband.

Appearing before Magistrate Fred Mwangala was Florence Chota who on her own admission of guilt was charged with one count of Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm contrary to Section 248 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Facts before court were that on April 6th, 2025, Chota assaulted the husband identified as Augustine Kabila after hitting him with a stick on his right eye after a marital dispute.

It is alleged that on the material day, Kabila had gone to the now convict’s house to ask for their children aged 12 and 9 respectively to accompany him to the field to harvest maize.

Chota said Kabila whom she has been married to for 19 years as a first wife had left his matrimonial home to go and stay with the second wife and could only show up only when he wanted the children to help him with field work.

She added that on the material day, Kabila started beating their 9-year-old son after he refused to accompany him to the field adding that Kabila had a tendency using their children after which he would take part of the harvest to his second wife.

In this matter, Kabila who admitted marrying the second wife, also testified that Chota hit him with a stick on the right ear leaving him with a deep cut.

In mitigation, Chota asked for forgiveness and pleaded for the court’s leniency saying her and the son were also beaten by the complaint.

She also complained that Kabila does not sleep at her place despite having been reconciled by the local court but only shows up when he wants to use the children for manual work.

However, in passing judgement, Magistrate Mwangala observed that there were better ways of resolving marital disputes as opposed to physical fights which in most cases had resulted in loss of lives.

KEITH MWEEMBA IN HIGH GEAR AS FAZ RUSHES TO SECURE TREATMENT FOR OCHUMBA LUBANJI

KEITH MWEEMBA IN HIGH GEAR AS FAZ RUSHES TO SECURE TREATMENT FOR OCHUMBA LUBANJI

The FOX Newspaper

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Keith Mweemba has sprung into action, issuing a decisive directive for the immediate intervention in the medical case of Copper Queens striker Ochumba Oseke Lubanji.

The star forward, known for her agility and striking prowess, suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while on international duty in April — a blow that has cast a shadow over her chances of participating in the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) slated for July in Morocco.

In a bold move aimed at accelerating recovery efforts, Mweemba has instructed FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga to urgently engage Lubanji’s Chinese club, Changchun Dazhong, to facilitate her access to world-class medical care. FAZ is prioritizing the player’s well-being, committing full support to ensure she gets the best possible treatment — and hope for a strong comeback.

Lubanji’s injury has not only left fans heartbroken but has also posed a major setback for the Copper Queens’ WAFCON preparations. However, FAZ’s swift action offers a glimmer of hope, reinforcing the association’s commitment to the athletes who carry the nation’s pride on their shoulders.

As the nation rallies behind one of its brightest stars, Zambia waits with bated breath for positive updates — and perhaps, a miraculous return to the pitch.

Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been hospitalized after being st@bbed by another inmate in prison

Canadian rapper, Tory Lanez, has been hospitalized after being st@bbed by another inmate in prison.

According to TMZ, the 32-year-old Canadian rapper was st@bbed by another inmate on Monday, May 12, during an altercation in the yard of the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi.

A source said that Lanez was taken to a hospital in an ambulance following the stabbing, which is said to be non-life-threatening. The motive of the attack remains under investigation.

He is currently serving ten years behind bars for the 2020 sh0oting of Megan Thee Stallion.

Peterson was found guilty of three felonies last December in the 2020 sh0oting of Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete. He was sentenced in Aug. 2023.

During the shooting trial, Megan Thee Stallion said she was sh0t in the foot after she and Peterson got into an argument after they both attended a house party hosted by Kylie Jenner in Hollywood Hills back in July 2020.

Megan Thee Stallion testified that Lanez told her to “Dance, *” before opening fire.

Diddy’s former girlfriend singer Cassie is expected to be among the trial’s early witnesses

Disgraced music mogul, Diddy’s former girlfriend, singer Cassie, is expected to be among the trial’s early witnesses.

The defense revealed last week that they plan on arguing that Diddy and Cassie engaged in mutual violence throughout their relationship.

Opening statements in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ s£x-trafficking trial are being heard in Manhattan federal court.

Meanwhile, prosecutors said they have been unable to communicate with ‘Victim 3’ who will likely not show up to testify against Diddy.

They can’t find one of the female victims who is central to their case. She does not live in New York where the Combs’ trial is being held.

Lawyers for the three-time Grammy winner say prosecutors are wrongly trying to make a crime out of a party-loving lifestyle that may have been indulgent but was not illegal.

Prosecutors say Combs coerced women into drugged-up group sexual encounters, then kept them in line through violence.

Diddy faces a slew of charges related to his alleged s£xual and physical abuse of women. He was charged with three crimes – racketeering, s£x trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

50 Cent Torments Kanye West Again Over Jaw-Dropping Incest Claims

When 50 Cent smells blood in the water, he doesn’t stop hunting. Unfortunately, Kanye West got in his own way and he’s now paying the price.
50 Cent these days doesn’t seem to be interested in much else unless it comes to trolling. His main targets as of late have been Rick Ross, Diddy, Jay-Z, Ja Rule, and even Kanye West. Of course, we can’t forget about the Meech clan as well.

But the latter out of those MCs is largely to blame for the G-Unit’s verbal onslaught. Kanye West has become low-hanging fruit online thanks to the shocking things he says, particularly on Twitter. Perhaps the wildest thing he’s stated has been about what he allegedly did with his cousin.

If you haven’t been keeping with Ye’s posts, last month he claimed that he gave his younger relative fellatio for several years. He revealed this through a song called “COUSINS.” It’s a track that actually exists. Moreover, it’s going to be on this rumored album he keeps teasing, CUCK.

He broke down the story behind the track tweeting, “This song is called COUSINS about my cousin that’s locked in jail for life for killing a pregnant lady a few years after I told him we wouldn’t ‘look at dirty magazines together’ anymore. Perhaps in my self centered mess I felt it was my fault that I showed him those dirty magazines when he was 6 and then we acted out what we saw. My dad had playboy magazines but the magazines I found in the top of my moms closet were different. My name is Ye and I sucked my cousins d**k till I was 14. Tweet sent.”

Due to 50 Cent seemingly being online at all times, he saw the post. Per Hot 97, he reacted hours later on his Instagram. “Fvck today man the Knicks lost, the pope died, and Kanye told us he sucked his cousin’s d!ck for 8 years. I’m going to bed early tomorrow gotta be a better day,” he said.

But even though it’s been a few weeks since Kanye’s bombshell, Fif seemingly thought about it again randomly. He posted again to his IG writing, “I woke up this morning thinking, you can’t suck your cousins d**k for 6 years and not be gay. Somebody has to tell Kanye I’m not gonna tell him nope it’s not my job.”

This has led to some laughing and others condemning 50 for concerning himself with gossip. “50 survived 9 shots just to dedicate the rest of his life to trolling,” one user replies.

For those upset with him, they may just want to unfollow because more taunting may be coming soon. That’s because of Ye’s “HEIL HITLER” song and music video that pays tribute to the notorious Nazi leader. Another CUCK teaser, the track was removed from all DSPs for obvious reasons, leading Ye to call out the hypocrisy and racism on display.

“Heil Hitler by Ye has been banned by all digital streaming platforms while Rednecks by Randy Newman remains streamable. They’re literally keeping the n****s down.”

Prosecutors allege that Diddy once made a male escort Pee into Cassie’s mouth Pee

Diddy’s trial finally began opening statements in the courtroom in New York City on Monday after a week of jury selection.
Diddy allegedly once made a male escort pee into Cassie’s mouth, according to the prosecution’s opening statements in his criminal trial on Monday. Attorney Emily A. Johnson made the claim while explaining why the singer agreed to participate in a freak-off. She said that Cassie loved Diddy but at the same time, “knew it was not something she wanted to do.”

During the alleged freak-off, Diddy allegedly instructed the male sex worker to urinate into her mouth. She “felt like she was choking” when Combs “made an escort urinate into her mouth,” Johnson alleged, as caught by The New York Times. She went on to say Cassie “knew she had no choice but to agree” due to Diddy’s allegedly violent nature.

Johnson accused Diddy of allegedly “brutally” beating Cassie “countless times” over the years. She referenced one instance where the Bad Boy mogul learned of a relationship she was having with another man and allegedly retaliated violently.

The prosecution wasn’t the only side to bring up Cassie. Diddy’s defense attorney, Teny Geragos, directly referenced the infamous hotel video of him assaulting her back in 2016. “His fights with Cassie were about cheating. It was a toxic relationship – they loved each other. Cassie will tell you about the jealousy of Kim Porter, then Gina. The day of the hotel hallway, jealousy was on display. Violence by the elevator bank, ten years ago. You will see it later today. What Combs did is indefensible,” she said, as noted by Inner City Press. Regardless, she reiterated: “The video is not evidence of sex trafficking.”

The reference to their relationship being “toxic” was part of a broader strategy the defense implemented with Diddy’s opening statements. They argued the allegations stem from “love, jealousy and money.” As caught by Inner City Press, Geragos suggested that Diddy may not be perfect, but that doesn’t mean he’s guilty of the crimes for which the state is accusing him.

Authorities originally arrested Diddy back in September of last year. They charged him with alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. He pleaded not guilty and denied all of the allegations.

Black Mom Dies One Day After Her Son Gets Married at Her Hospital Bedside

Martha Jenkins Wilson, an African American mother from Valdosta, Georgia, received her final wish when her son married his fiancée beside her hospital bed, battling cancer. She died the next day, but not before witnessing the wedding she had always dreamed of attending.

Samuel B. Wilson and Nakiuma Wade held a bedside wedding for his mother at South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC). The staff transformed her hospital room into a makeshift chapel in under 12 hours, according to People.

Wilson said the moment meant everything, sharing that his mother had always been clear — she only planned to attend one wedding: her son’s. Wade, who works as an ICU nurse at the same hospital, recalled her mother-in-law saying, “I want to dance with my baby.”

The wedding took place on April 11th. Martha died the next day after a battle with cancer.

Two weeks later, on May 3, the couple held a formal ceremony. Though Wilson’s mother was no longer there, Wade said they could still feel her presence.

Family members had gathered at her bedside during her final moments. “All of us at the bedside when she went was everything because it’s a lot of times people lose family members, and nobody is at the bedside. But we were able to be there with her, so I knew Saturday she would be so proud that she could dance with her baby,” Wade shared. “She told every listening ear, and they were able to tell everybody. And that’s what she would have wanted.”

SGMC Health shared photos of the emotional ceremony on Facebook, calling it “a moment full of love” and thanking the Wilson and Wade families for letting them be part of it.

The 65-year-old Italian, one of football’s most decorated managers, is expected to lead Brazil into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ancelotti’s appointment reflects Brazil’s renewed ambition to reclaim global dominance, with CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues calling him the “perfect fit” due to his vast experience and winning mentality.

With a track record that includes three Champions League titles and domestic success across Europe, Ancelotti now faces the challenge of transitioning to international football, guiding a squad featuring stars like Vinícius Jr and Neymar.

Diddy legal team admits his violent past, argues it doesn’t amount to federal crime

Sean “Diddy” Combs built a reputation as a music tycoon and cultural icon, but prosecutors say that behind the scenes, he orchestrated a campaign of intimidation, manipulation, and abuse. Opening statements Monday in his sex trafficking trial painted a stark contrast between the mogul’s public persona and his alleged private misconduct.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson, addressing the Manhattan jury, pointed at Combs as she delivered a grim preview of the trial: “This is Sean Combs. During this trial you are going to hear about 20 years of the defendant’s crimes.” The alleged offenses include kidnapping, arson, sexual exploitation, drug use, bribery, and attempts to obstruct justice.

Combs, 55, appeared composed, leaning back as Johnson laid out her case. His defense, however, offered a different narrative.

“Sean Combs is a complicated man. But this is not a complicated case,” defense attorney Teny Geragos countered. “This case is about love, jealousy, infidelity and money.” She characterized the charges as a prosecutorial overreach, insisting the government was twisting the facts of consensual adult relationships into something sinister.

Geragos acknowledged Combs’ volatile nature, including instances of alcohol- and drug-fueled outbursts. “You may think he’s a ‘jerk,’ and you might not like his ‘kinky sex,’” she told jurors, “but he’s not charged with being a jerk.”

Still, the prosecution wasted no time spotlighting Combs’ alleged pattern of control. Jurors were shown surveillance footage, now widely circulated of Combs physically assaulting singer Cassie, his longtime partner, in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016. The silent video was played four times during testimony by Israel Florez, a former hotel security guard now serving in the LAPD.

According to Florez, he responded to a “woman in distress” call on the sixth floor and found Combs clad in a towel, sitting with what he described as “a devilish stare.” Florez said Cassie asked to leave, but Combs insisted she wouldn’t. “If she wants to leave, she’s going to leave,” Florez recalled telling him. Moments later, Combs allegedly tried to bribe him, flashing cash and saying, “Don’t tell nobody.” Florez refused, saying, “I don’t want your money. Just go back into your room.”

Cassie, legally named Casandra Ventura, is expected to take the stand Tuesday, according to an AP report.

Jurors also heard from Daniel Phillip, a former male stripper who testified that Combs paid him up to $6,000 to have sex with Cassie while he watched and gave instructions. Phillip said he walked away from those encounters after witnessing Combs hurl a bottle at Cassie and violently drag her by the hair.

Defense attorney Xavier Donaldson attempted to undermine Phillip’s credibility, ridiculing his past job with a male revue troupe marketed as “the ultimate ladies night experience.”

Throughout the proceedings, Combs appeared engaged, greeting his lawyers warmly and acknowledging his family in the gallery. He blew a kiss to his mother and mouthed “Hi mom, I love you.” His three daughters left the courtroom as the testimony became graphic.

Public interest in the trial remains high. Lines to enter the courthouse began forming before court adjourned Monday, with spectators eager to witness what could become one of the most high-profile celebrity trials of the decade.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to a five-count federal indictment that carries a maximum penalty of life in prison. He’s been in custody at a Brooklyn detention facility since his arrest in September. Per court approval, he appeared Monday in civilian clothes, his signature black hair now streaked with gray due to the jail’s ban on dye.

Prosecutors allege Combs orchestrated a system of abuse involving drug-laced sex parties, often referred to as “freak-offs,” “wild king nights,” or “hotel nights”—which were staged and facilitated by his employees. Women were allegedly coerced into sex acts with male escorts while Combs watched, recorded, and, at times, joined in.

“These were not isolated incidents,” Johnson said, adding that Cassie wasn’t the only victim. The prosecution described a pattern of physical violence and psychological control, including threats to sabotage careers and public reputations.

Kaizer Chiefs set to part ways with coach Nasreddine Nabi despite Nedbank Cup triumph

Kaizer Chiefs set to part ways with coach Nasreddine Nabi despite Nedbank Cup triumph

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly set to part ways with coach Nasreddine Nabi at the end of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season, despite his success in leading the team to a Nedbank Cup victory, ending a decade-long trophy drought.

The decision, as reported by sources like Sunday Times, stems from the club’s dissatisfaction with Nabi’s inconsistent league performance, with Chiefs currently sitting outside the CAF competition qualifying spots and in ninth place in the league standings.

The club’s management believes Nabi has not met broader expectations for reviving the team’s former glory, citing a lack of defensive structure and an underwhelming playing style.

SAFA denies R10 million payout to Danny Jordaan, blames smear campaign

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has firmly denied allegations that its president, Danny Jordaan, received an unauthorized R10 million payment in 2020.

In a statement, SAFA called the claims “malicious” and “mischievous,” saying they form part of a coordinated smear campaign aimed at destabilizing the organization’s leadership.

CEO Lydia Monyepao said the allegations were based on financial data illegally accessed and misinterpreted to create a false narrative.

SAFA clarified that the R10 million figure represents cumulative payments made to Jordaan between 2007 and 2025, during his tenure in various roles, including CEO of SAFA, head of the 2010 World Cup Bid, and CEO of the FIFA World Cup Local Organizing Committee.

These payments included meeting allowances, bonuses for securing the World Cup, separation packages, and legitimate transfers from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The association emphasized that all payments were properly authorized by its National Executive Committee. SAFA also confirmed that former media liaison officer Namhla Mphelo, dismissed for allegedly leaking information, has taken the matter to the CCMA, claiming unfair dismissal.

Omotoso launches urgent court bid against ‘prohibited person’ status after re-arrest

Nigerian televangelist Timothy Omotoso has filed an urgent High Court bid to review the Department of Home Affairs’ decision to declare him a prohibited person in South Africa.

This follows his re-arrest on May 10, 2025, in East London for allegedly violating the Immigration Act, after his controversial acquittal on rape and trafficking charges in April 2025.

His legal team argues the prohibited status, which renders him an illegal resident facing deportation, may involve legal loopholes and seeks to challenge its validity.

Episcopal Church has refused to help resettle the Afrikaners community in USA

The Episcopal Church in USA has refused to work with Home Affairs Department in that country.

The church says it was called by government to help resettle the Afrikaners community in USA. The state used to donate $50 million to the Church, and the church says they won’t help in this Afrikaner matter.

In a letter written to the Federal government, the Church says it is painful to watch the Afrikaners jump all other people from other countries, and given first preference.

Kanye West’s devolution is sad, sometimes shocking – Singer John legend

0

Grammy-winning artist, John Legend has opened up about his former collaborator Kanye West, describing the rapper and producer’s transformation over the past two decades as both “sad” and “sometimes shocking.”

In a recent interview, Legend reflected on their early creative partnership during the making of his debut album Get Lifted, which was released in 2004. West served as the executive producer on the record, working alongside Dave Tozer, will.i.am, and Devo Springsteen.

Released under West’s GOOD Music label, Get Lifted sold over three million copies, earned three Grammy Awards, and catapulted Legend to stardom. At the time, West was also experiencing success with his own debut album The College Dropout, earning recognition as a visionary artist with a distinctive voice.

Legend described West during that era as “passionate, gifted, and full of optimism,” adding, “He had big dreams for himself and the people around him.”

However, he acknowledged a stark contrast between the Kanye he once knew and the figure seen in recent years. “It does feel sad, sometimes shocking, to see where he is now,” Legend remarked.

West has drawn widespread criticism in recent years for inflammatory public statements and controversial appearances. He has faced backlash for wearing a black Ku Klux Klan hood in public, selling merchandise with swastika logos, and making offensive remarks that led to bans from social media platforms.

“I didn’t see a hint of what we’re seeing now—his obsessions with antisemitism, anti-Blackness—and it is sad to see his devolution,” Legend said.

He suggested that the death of West’s mother, Donda West, in 2007 may have marked a turning point. “I don’t think we’re qualified to psychoanalyse him, but after his mother passed in 2007, there was definitely a difference. His descent started then and seems to have accelerated recently,” he added.

Wale Shuts Down Rumor Diddy Dangled Him Over A Balcony

The rumor about an alleged altercation between Wale and Diddy surfaced as the Bad Boy mogul’s criminal trial gets started.
Wale shut down the idea that he ever got into a physical altercation with Diddy over Cassie as the rapper’s criminal trial kicked off in New York City, this week. Appearing on The Morning Hustle, Wale addressed the rumor that the Bad Boy mogul once dangled him over a balcony.

“I never got in an altercation with that man,” he said on the show. “I never been in an altercation with nobody in the industry. I’ve had close calls, but not him. It was made up by somebody whose just trolling.” Wale finished by describing the story as “preposterous.”

It’s not the first time he’s denied the validity of the rumor. Back in 2023, his team said in a statement to TMZ: “Wale has never met Cassie or the author and was never involved in any type of altercation. He wishes peace for everyone involved in the settlement.” He also described it as the result of “the slow demise of authentic journalism” in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

As for Diddy’s criminal trial, he appeared in court on Monday for the beginning of opening statements. He faces charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. The prosecution focused their time on the existence of “another side” of Diddy, as put by attorney Emily A. Johnson. She said: “During this trial you are going to hear about 20 years of the defendant’s crimes. But he didn’t do it alone. He had an inner circle of bodyguards and high-ranking employees who helped him commit crimes and helped him cover them up,” according to The New York Times.

The defense, on the other hand, argued the case is “about love, and jealousy and money,” as caught by Inner City Press. They suggested that Diddy is far from perfect, even referencing his violent assault of Cassie in 2016, but reaffirmed that he is not guilty of the specific crimes of which the government is accusing him.
