A Tribute to Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, Sixth Republican President of Zambia

A Tribute to Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, Sixth Republican President of Zambia

By Thandiwe Ketis Ngoma

Today, our nation bows its head in sorrow and solemn reflection as we bid farewell to a son of the soil, a leader, a father, and a patriot, the late Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, Sixth Republican President of Zambia. His passing does not merely signal the end of a life, but the close of a powerful chapter in our national story.

Dr. Lungu served this country with humility, integrity, and an unwavering sense of duty. When leadership called, he answered with quiet strength, guiding our nation through critical moments with calm resolve. And when the voice of the people spoke at the ballot, he did not cling to power. He released it with grace. His peaceful handover was not a sign of defeat, but of democratic triumph and a testament to his belief that the will of the people must always prevail.

But in a painful twist of fate, the very democracy he upheld failed him in return.

Instead of gratitude, he was met with hostility. Instead of honor, he was cast aside. His rights were trampled. He was denied the dignity to travel for medical care, stripped of the protection due to a former Head of State, and subjected to relentless indignity by the very office he once held with honor.

What a bitter betrayal, not only of the man but of the values he stood for.
What a painful reminder that political power, in the wrong hands, can forget its humanity.

That this mistreatment came not from an enemy, but from his own successor, his brother in service, is a wound that history will not forget.

Still, Dr. Lungu bore it all with silence, with grace, and with strength. He did not fight back with bitterness. He endured, reminding us through his quiet dignity that true greatness needs no defense. In his final days, as in his years of leadership, he remained a man of peace.

Now, his voice is still, but his legacy speaks louder than ever.

Let us take this moment not only to mourn, but to reflect. To ask ourselves: How do we honor those who have served? How do we treat our past, even when we disagree with it? And most importantly, what kind of future do we build when we silence those who once led us with integrity?

Dr. Lungu is now free — free from pain, free from betrayal, free from the injustice he endured. He rests now in the embrace of the Creator he often called upon with deep faith.

Zambia mourns you, gallant son of the soil.
But history will not forget.
And generations to come will remember your name, not for the wounds you suffered, but for the wisdom, peace, and honor with which you served.

Rest in eternal peace, Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
Your light has gone, but your legacy shines on.

Edgar  Chagwa Lungu’s Cause Of Death Revealed

South Africa— Preliminary reports suggest that former Zambian President Edgar Chagwa Lungu died from complications related to swallowing, according to South African sources close to the matter.

Lungu passed away early Thursday in South Africa, where he had been receiving medical treatment.

The South African government, which had been hosting and monitoring his care, is expected to issue a full statement clarifying the exact cause of death.

Lungu’s party, the Patriotic Front (PF), confirmed a statement released Thursday saying Lungu had “been receiving specialized treatment in South Africa” for an undisclosed illness. The party mourned the passing of a man it described as a “statesman, patriot and servant of the people.”

President Emmerson Mnangagwa was the biggest loser following the death of the 68 years old former Zambian head of state..

Lungu served as Zambia’s sixth president from 2015 to 2021, after assuming office following the death of Michael Sata.

He presided over a turbulent period marked by rising debt, an economic downturn, and growing authoritarian tendencies, including a crackdown on dissent and independent media.

Despite these challenges, he remained a revered figure among fellow regional leaders, especially those within the former liberation movements.

His close relationship with Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the broader Zanu PF elite was no secret.

He often expressed admiration for Zimbabwe’s “revolutionary resilience” and maintained warm ties with the Southern African Development Community (SADC)’s regional bloc of former liberation movements — including South Africa’s ANC, Mozambique’s Frelimo, and Namibia’s Swapo.

During his presidency, Lungu was a consistent voice in support of Mnangagwa, both during and after the 2017 coup that ousted long-time Zimbabwean ruler Robert Mugabe.

Lungu was one of the first leaders to endorse Mnangagwa’s legitimacy and was seen as a regional bulwark against Western criticism of Zanu PF’s human rights abuses and disputed electoral processes.

But Lungu’s own rule was marred by accusations of authoritarianism.

He oversaw the arrest of opposition figures, the militarization of state institutions, and controversial constitutional amendments aimed at extending his grip on power.

Patriotic Front vice-president Given Lubinda says former president Edgar Lungu will be remembered for sacrificing his statesmanship for the sake of Zambians who were wallowing in poverty.

And Lubinda has declared the PF party secretariat as the official funeral home for the late former head of state and declared a week of mourning.

Lubinda said last evening when he addressed the media and party members that Lungu gave up his life to sacrifice for the Zambian people.

He said when Lungu retired from active politics, he decided to bounce back after realising that things were not going right for the party and the country.

KBF writes AG to withdraw Bill 7

Fube writes AG to withdraw Bill 7

By Staff Reporter

Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP) leader Kelvin Bwalya Fube has disclosed that he has written to the Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha demanding that the government withdraw Bill 7 within 14 days, from the public domain and ensure it does not get to Parliament.

And Fube has warned UPND media director Mark Simuuwe and those who think like him that they only have one year in government and must therefore choose not to be accomplices to illegalities relating to the proposed constitutional amendments.

Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, Fube said the amendment of the Constitution did not come in the form of a government gazette like the current one.

He said any intended amendment to the constitution must always have a procedure and that there was a lot precedence to this.

Bwalya said in his 10-page letter to Kabesha, he explained and reminded his former classmate at the University of Zambia (UNZA) that there was history of how the constitutional amendments were done.

He also said he reminded the government the various constitutional commissions, among them the Chona Constitutional Commission, Mwanakatwe Constitutional Review Commission, National Constitution Conference under late president Levy Mwanawasa and National Dialogue Forum under

TONSE ALLIANCE YOUTH CHAIRPERSON MOURNS IN EMOTIONAL MESSAGE

He added that there had been plans to officially adopt the version “ECL Nabakwe 73,” suggesting a broader political vision that unites Zambia’s tribes and diverse ethnic groups.

“THE TRUTH ABOUT DEC’s INVESTIGATION: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT”

“THE TRUTH ABOUT DEC’s INVESTIGATION: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT”

By Timmy

Folks, let’s get to the bottom of this. Emmanuel Mwamba’s article is a total disaster, a complete failure. He’s trying to make the DEC and President HH look bad, but the truth is, the law enforcement agency did everything by the book.

🔴What’s Really Going On
✅ The DEC invited former President Edgar Lungu to assist with an investigation, not summon him for criminal interrogations as Mwamba claims.

✅ The DEC wrote to Lungu’s law firm, Makebi Zulu & Advocate, to request his attendance, acknowledging his immunity from prosecution.

https://youtu.be/4ri14h1KmNg?si=Ai8w8RwAQ53XIZBQ

✅The law enforcement agency required written documentation to verify Lungu’s health status, which is standard procedure. And writing such a letter was a way of obtaining that document.

Mwamba’s Desperate Attempt
Emmanuel Mwamba’s article is a desperate attempt to create a narrative that the law enforcement was being evil. But the facts don’t support this claim. The DEC followed procedure, and their intention was to gather information, not harass or intimidate the former President.

🔴Questions for Mwamba
✅ What outcome are you looking for with these posts and papers you are busy flashing on Facebook?
✅What do you intend to happen? When you know very well that people are mourning .
✅ What are you searching for as a leader?

The DEC’s actions were lawful and procedural. They had no notice of Lungu’s health status at the time of the letter, and their request was aimed at clearing various investigative components. Mwamba’s article is nothing but a cheap propaganda stunt. Let’s focus on the truth and move forward.

GOVERNMENT NOT IN SUPPORT OF STREET VENDING – MINISTER CLARIFIES POSITION

GOVERNMENT NOT IN SUPPORT OF STREET VENDING – MINISTER CLARIFIES POSITION

Lusaka, 5 June 2025

Reported By: Open Development media

The Government has firmly denied claims suggesting that it has given street vendors permission to operate outside designated trading areas. Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Gift Sialubalo, MP, clarified that his recent remarks regarding street vending were misinterpreted.

Hon. Sialubalo stated that the government remains committed to promoting orderly, safe, and legal trading practices. He dismissed reports that the government has allowed marketeers to abandon established markets and conduct business on the streets.

“At no point did the government authorize marketeers to leave designated markets for street vending,” the Minister said. “My remarks at Kulima Tower were aimed at discouraging the harassment of vendors and the illegal collection of money by individuals masquerading as officials—this must not be mistaken for support of street vending.”

He further emphasized that illegal activities such as caderism and the extortion of traders have no place in the current administration and will be met with strong action.

Hon. Sialubalo urged marketeers to remain within legal trading spaces, assuring them that government is working hard to improve infrastructure. He cited ongoing major construction works at Simon Mwewa Market, which aim to create additional trading space and accommodate traders currently without designated stalls.

“We understand the concerns of vendors, especially those without proper trading spaces. That is why we are expanding Simon Mwewa Market—to ensure everyone has a dignified and secure place to do business,” he said.

The Minister also revealed plans to convene an emergency meeting with street vendors and local council officials. The meeting will aim to resolve tensions, listen to the concerns of traders, and develop long-term solutions that balance economic needs with urban order.

The government’s position, he concluded, is one of inclusivity, transparency, and lawful development—where economic opportunities must not come at the expense of public order and safety.

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA COMMISSIONS $40 MILLION HITACHI FACTORY EXPANSION, APPLAUDS STRENGTHENING ZAMBIA-JAPAN TIES

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA COMMISSIONS $40 MILLION HITACHI FACTORY EXPANSION, APPLAUDS STRENGTHENING ZAMBIA-JAPAN TIES

Lusaka, June 5, 2025 – President Hakainde Hichilema has officially commissioned the $40 million Phase III expansion of the Hitachi Construction Machinery Zambia Factory and Warehouse Facility, marking a significant milestone in Zambia’s industrial and investment landscape.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, President Hichilema praised the deepening bilateral ties between Zambia and Japan, which he said have been strengthened following his recent official visit to Tokyo. He cited the Hitachi expansion as a key outcome of that engagement.

“I was attending a business forum in Tokyo with officials from Hitachi, and we count this investment as one of the key achievements from that visit as we continue mobilizing resources for our country,” President Hichilema said.

The Head of State commended Hitachi’s strategic partnerships in Zambia, particularly with sectors like mining, agriculture, manufacturing, and construction. He emphasized the company’s contribution to value addition and the broader economic development agenda.

“Hitachi’s partnership with First Quantum Minerals has enabled government to receive dividends ranging from $5 million to $15 million, making it the single largest taxpayer and a significant contributor to the national treasury,” he noted.

President Hichilema further highlighted that this partnership has spurred increased copper production by First Quantum, pushing Zambia closer to its target of producing one million tonnes of copper annually.

Looking ahead, the President encouraged Hitachi to broaden its focus beyond large-scale mining operations to include infrastructure and agriculture. He urged the company to support irrigation and construction efforts in rural areas, positioning itself not as a competitor but as a valuable partner in national development.

“Hitachi’s involvement in the value chain has enabled us to finance free education, boost Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocations, and provide medical supplies—despite ongoing theft, which we are determined to address,” he said. He also cited road projects such as the Chipata-Chadiza road as beneficiaries of improved government revenue.

President Hichilema extended his appreciation to the Japanese Ambassador to Zambia for his role in fostering strong diplomatic and economic relations, adding that the partnership continues to bear fruit through signed agreements and active engagements.

The President also revealed that Toyota Japan has expressed interest in expanding its investment footprint in Zambia beyond the automotive sector to include pharmaceuticals and renewable energy. Japanese officials have already made two visits as part of feasibility studies for a solar energy project aimed at reducing the country’s reliance on hydropower and mitigating the effects of climate change.

The commissioning of the Hitachi facility marks a significant stride in Zambia’s industrialization efforts, with the government reaffirming its commitment to attracting foreign investment and building a resilient, diversified economy.

Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu – Last Man Standing.l- Tribute By Exildah Mwenya

Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu – Last Man Standing.

Eulogy for His Excellency, Edgar Chagwa Lungu

Today, we as a nation cloaked in sorrow, yet united in gratitude and remembrance. We have lost not only a father, a husband, a friend—but a statesman. His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the Sixth President of the Republic of Zambia, has completed his earthly journey, leaving behind a legacy etched into the soul of this great nation. President Lungu rose from humble beginnings to the highest office in the land through resilience, determination, and faith. His political journey  was never marked by self-glory, but by service.
When fate and history called upon him to lead following the passing of President Michael Sata, Edgar Lungu answered with humility and resolve. He became the torchbearer of continuity, peace, and stability.

President Lungu will be remembered for his commitment to peace. He believed that Zambia’s strength lay in her unity, and he worked tirelessly to uphold national harmony, even in times of political turbulence. He was a leader who, despite criticism, always chose the path of dialogue over division, of calm over chaos.
His presidency oversaw massive infrastructure development—roads, bridges, hospitals, and schools—which today connect and several millions of Zambians. He prioritized rural development and aimed to close the gap between urban affluence and rural poverty.

But beyond the office, beyond the politics, Edgar Chagwa Lungu was a man of faith. A devoted Christian who declared Zambia a Christian nation not in name only, but through policies and practices that elevated faith-based values. He believed that leadership was stewardship, and he constantly sought the grace of God to guide his decisions.

To his family—his beloved wife, Esther Lungu, and their children—we extend our deepest condolences. Thank you for sharing him with us. You carried the weight of public life with dignity and grace, and our nation is forever in your debt.

let us not mourn as those without hope. Let us celebrate a life lived in service, a man who gave his all to his country. Let us take forward the values he held dear—peace, unity, and patriotism.

In the words of Scripture, “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:23)
May the soul of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu rest in eternal peace, and may God continue to bless the Republic of Zambia.

Kenyan couple says they are the biblical parents (Mary and Joseph) of Jesus from the Bible; claim God appeared to them in a dream

A woman from Nangoma village in Matayos, Busia County, has stirred widespread debate after declaring herself the biblical Mary, mother of Jesus.

Judith Nafula, previously expelled from a local Catholic Church, claims she received a divine revelation from Jesus Christ himself, who allegedly descended in a beam of light and identified her as his mother.

Nafula’s assertion has left villagers and relatives in disbelief, while her husband, John Wekullo, has added to the controversy by claiming he, too, received a vision declaring him Joseph, the biblical spouse of Mary.

According to Nafula, the vision occurred when “a light came down from heaven, and in the middle of it was Jesus.”

She recounted to local media that Jesus asked her where Mother Mary was, revealing to her that she was the chosen one to embody this identity.

Following this encounter, Nafula says she was led to a nearby hill, where she spent two months conversing with the Holy Spirit.

Her husband, Wekullo, initially shocked by the revelation, later supported her claim after experiencing a similar vision

Brother confesses to murdering sister

Brother confesses to murdering sister

A chilling discovery has rocked the community of Nkohlakalo, near White River, as the remains of 44-year-old Sibongile Precious Nkosi were exhumed from a shallow grave under a mango tree at her family home on June 5, 2025.

Her 30-year-old brother, Mluleki Nkosi, confessed to murdering her after a heated domestic altercation on May 29, 2024, and burying her body at their homestead.

Sibongile, described by family as a caring sister, had been missing since May 2024. Her disappearance went unreported until community members confronted Mluleki, prompting his confession.

Mpumalanga police, supported by a forensic team, recovered the remains, which are undergoing DNA testing to confirm identity. Mluleki was arrested on June 3, 2025, and appeared in the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court two days later, facing murder charges.

Vusimuzi Nkosi, a sibling residing in Gauteng, expressed heartbreak and disbelief, stating, “She looked after him. How could he do this?”

The case, another grim statistic in South Africa’s femicide crisis, has left the South Africans reeling. Provincial Police Commissioner Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi praised the community’s vigilance, which led to the breakthrough. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover the full circumstances of this tragic loss.

George Clooney predicts the end of Donald Trump

George Clooney says most of the people in his circle are worried about being targeted by President Donald Trump, but the threat won’t last forever.

“Everybody worries about it,” Clooney told Anderson Cooper in a Wednesday CNN interview. “We, like everybody, we have a family and we have a life and we try to live and do the things as the best example for our kids,” said the Academy Award winning actor and prominent anti-Trumper.

Clooney produced and directed a historical drama about generational news icon Edward R. Murrow’s dismantling of red scare McCarthyism in the 1950s in ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’. The movie put a spotlight on unscrupulous investigatory methods by government agents to suppress political opposition and fuel a climate of fear and suspicion. The movie is now a play airing on CNN this Saturday.

But as one of Hollywood’s most prominent Democratic supporters, Clooney, like other entertainers, has been a target of the president’s anger. Clooney said he uses his voice because he feels the nation is at an important historical crossroads.

“I want to be able to look at my kids in the eye and say where we stood and what we did at certain times in history. And I have no problem with that,” Clooney told Cooper, adding “ … if you spend your life worrying about things, then you won‘t do things.

Most news organizations, he said, are currently under fire by the White House.

“That usually happens with demagogues,” said Clooney. “… The first thing is attack the news because that’s the way we inform ourselves.”

The actor conceded Trump is a “duly elected” president, but added the 78-year-old president won’t last forever, and agents that want to concentrate undemocratic power into the White House may have a difficult time finding another leader with Trump’s charisma.

“… [W]hen [Trump] is finished — and he will be finished — they’re going to have to go looking for someone who can deliver the message that he delivered with the same kind of charisma, and they don’t have that.”

Steve Bannon calls for ‘illegal alien’ Elon Musk to be deported

Far-right activist and former campaign chair for Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, is calling on the president to deport tech billionaire Elon Musk.

Trump and Musk erupted into a public fight on Thursday over the 2026 budget bill that Musk cites would add $2.4 trillion to the deficit.

Bannon, who’s been criticizing Musk for months, is not only telling Trump to cancel all of his government contracts, but to get rid of him physically.

“They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately,” Bannon told the New York Times via phone.

Both Musk and his mother hold Canadian, South African, and American citizenship, the BBC wrote in February amid a campaign by Canadians calling for Musk’s citizenship to be revoked. Musk gained his citizenship in 2002, the report said, citing a recent biography.

In a February interview, Bannon called Musk a “parasitic illegal immigrant.”

On his War Room show, Bannon later said the government should seize Musk’s SpaceX company.

lawmakers weighs in on the Trump vs. Musk saga that erupted on social media

Democratic lawmakers weighed in on the Trump vs. Musk saga that erupted on social media Thursday, with some delighting in the chaos and others using it to bring attention to important issues like energy and health care.

Musk’s post claiming, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election,” prompted Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) to post, “Donald, without @elonmusk, you wouldn’t be President now. You’d be a Prisoner.”

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) focused on Musk’s post claiming the president appears in pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s files. “D— Musk goes ‘full Epstein’ on Trump!!” Whitehouse posted.

Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) poked fun at Trump and Musk’s leadership skills, writing, “Steady, competent leadership!”

Writer Michael Jones recounted his conversation with House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, writing, “’You watching the circus unfold?’ Hakeem Jeffries asked me as he emerged from the House Democrats’ cloakroom. More Jeffries: ‘This is a dramatic escalation in the Republican Civil War. Trump and Musk have gone nuclear on each other. House Republicans continue to fight with Senate Republicans. Senate Republicans are fighting with House Republicans. The Trump administration has also gone to war with the Federalist Society. The whole thing is falling apart.’”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded to Musk’s post complaining about “the EV/solar incentive cuts in the bill, even though no oil & gas subsidies are touched (very unfair!!).”

“We warned at every step that GOP planned to do this,” AOC wrote. “They SAID so. But y’all decided bullying trans people was more important than sensible energy policy. Republicans are fossil fuel extremists. They are owned by oil & gas and committed to ending EV/solar/etc. You supported it.”

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) also focused on the spending bill, writing, “The craziest thing about this fight between Trump and Elon Musk is that Republicans are trying to take away health care from 16 million people to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.”

Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) also had something to say about health care: “While Elon Musk and President Trump mark their territory, the GOP is working to kick 16 million people off their health care, collapse rural hospitals, and rack up more debt — all so Billionaires can receive massive tax breaks. It’s time for them to grow up or get out of the way.”

Rep. Bill Foster (D-IL) put out a call for transparency in the midst of the bromance breakup: “As we all watch Trump and Elon fall out in real time, don’t forget the damage that has already been done. DOGE raided the sensitive information of millions of Americans. My Republican colleagues should join me in calling for transparency from Trump about what Elon was up to.”

Staggering amount Tesla lost during day of fighting revealed

CNBC is reporting that amid the feud between President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the electric vehicle company lost its largest market cap of all time.

Tesla stock rallied a little after falling 17.5% to close at over 14%. That translates into a significant financial loss for the company.

“The move dropped the EV maker $152 billion in value, putting it below the $1 trillion benchmark and settling Thursday at $916 billion,” said the report.

In a press conference with the German chancellor on Thursday afternoon, Trump alleged that Musk was likely furious that the 2026 budget bill didn’t have credits for EVs like Tesla. Musk has been posting about the bill, alleging it adds too much to the deficit. The CBO scored that it would add $2.4 trillion.

“Whatever,” Musk clapped back on X during the press conference.

The ongoing battle between the two men continued from there, with Trump threatening to pull all of Musk’s federal contracts.

Tesla had a successful month in May, reclaiming 22% of losses despite low sales, the report continued.

Bannon predicts Musk will help Democrats ‘steal the ’28 election’

Donald Trump’s longtime far-right ally Steve Bannon torched Elon Musk on Thursday, accusing the tech billionaire of betraying the president and plotting with Democrats to take down Trump.

On his “War Room” podcast, the MAGA influencer predicted Musk would throw his support – and money – behind House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and the Democrats.

“He turned on Trump. He turned on MAGA. But most importantly, he turned on the country and the American people,” Bannon said. “And President Trump had enough of it.”

The remarks came as the feud between Trump and Musk escalated Thursday, with Musk increasing his angry tweets over the ‘big, beautiful bill’ and lobbing wild accusations about the president. Bannon warned on his podcast that Musk would hop behind progressive efforts to impeach Trump.

“As sure as the turning of the Earth, if those progressives rub up on him and say, ‘Hey, they’re never going to buy the Teslas’…they rub up on him, he’ll write a $500 million check for Hakeem Jeffries.”

“He’ll be across the thing, looking to impeach President Trump, looking to help steal the ‘28 election, looking to imprison President Trump,” he added.

“So here’s my point: Let’s get ahead of it and let’s get ahead of it tonight. This guy is all over the map.”

Bannon also called for an executive order to stop Musk – and threw another jab at him.

“He’s emblematic of these oligarchs. All of them have the maturity of a 9-year-old, and they’re dangerous,” Bannon said. “Not just to the president. More importantly, they’re dangerous to this Republic.”

Biden’s Former Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, Says She is No Longer a Democrat

Biden’s former press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, has left the Democratic Party and now identifies as an independent. In her upcoming book, she explains her decision and shares her thoughts on President Biden’s exit from the 2024 race. Jean-Pierre, who worked in Democratic politics for years, will release her book Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines in October 2025. Jean-Pierre notes that her decision to leave the party came after deep reflection and wasn’t made lightly.

The book covers the three weeks leading up to Biden’s decision to step down from his re-election bid. It also describes what Jean-Pierre sees as betrayal by top Democrats during that period. Biden withdrew after a poor debate performance, and Kamala Harris went on to lose the election to Donald Trump.

For over two years, Jean-Pierre served as the White House press secretary. Before that, she worked on the Biden-Harris 2020 campaign, in the Obama administration, and for the progressive group MoveOn.

During her time as press secretary, she was often questioned about Biden’s age and health, especially after the debate that led to his withdrawal from the race.

In a statement to CNN, Jean-Pierre said, “Until January 20, I was responsible for speaking on behalf of the President of the United States. At noon on that day, I became a private citizen who, like all Americans and many of our allies around the world, had to contend with what was to come next for our country. We need to be clear-eyed and questioning, rather than blindly loyal and obedient as we may have been in the past.”

Elon Musk calls for US President Donald Trump to be impeached and replaced by vice president JD Vance

Elon Musk has called for the impeachment of President Donald Trump and replaced with Vice President JD Vance.

This development stems from an ongoing public feud between the Tesla CEO, Elon Musk and the and Donald Trump.

Their ongoing public feud came primarily over disagreements regarding Trump’s controversial Big Beautiful Bill.

It was made known that the bill is heavily a major Republican-backed tax-and-spending package.

Elon Musk however, is among those who criticized the bill as, labeling it as disgusting abomination.

Elon Musk’s comments is due to its projected $2.4 trillion increase in the federal deficit over the next decade.

It was reported that the bill which he argued about, if finalized, undermined Elon Musk’s efforts to cut government spending through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk went on to claim that Trump’s name appeared in the sealed Jeffrey Epstein files which escalated the entire feud.

Mongolia Prime Minister resigns after his son’s luxury holiday sparks public fury

Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene has resigned following weeks of intense protests sparked by social media posts showcasing his son’s extravagant lifestyle.

The political crisis began after images of Oyun-Erdene’s 23-year-old son, Temuulen, and his fiancée flaunting luxury items showed online.

The items including a black Dior shoulder bag and other high-end shopping bags, during an engagement holiday.

One photo, reportedly posted by the fiancée with the caption “Happy birthday to me,” drew particular attention, alongside another image of the couple kissing in a swimming pool.

The lavish displays raised widespread questions about how the Prime Minister’s family could afford such luxury, prompting an investigation by Mongolia’s anti-corruption agency.

Public frustration, already simmering due to rising inflation, poverty, and perceived government corruption, boiled over into mass demonstrations in the capital, Ulaanbaatar.

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Sukhbaatar Square for two weeks, demanding Oyun-Erdene’s resignation and greater government accountability. A petition calling for his ouster garnered over 58,000 signatures.

On Tuesday, Oyun-Erdene lost a parliamentary confidence vote, securing only 44 of the 88 votes cast in the 126-seat State Great Khural, falling short of the required 64 votes to remain in office.

“It was an honor to serve my country and people in times of difficulties, including pandemics, wars, and tariffs,” Oyun-Erdene said after the vote.

He acknowledged, however, that he had focused too heavily on large-scale projects at the expense of social and political issues.

Oyun-Erdene has led Mongolia since 2021. He will serve as caretaker Prime Minister until a successor is appointed within 30 days.

Trump says he is not sure about having a great relationship with Elon Musk anymore

President Donald Trump has reacted to Elon Musk’s recent posts on X where he has criticized Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

In a press conferenceat the White House, Trump was asked about Elons recent posts that criticized his massive tax and immigration bill.

“Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore,” Trump said. He added that he was “very disappointed” in Musk.

Musk has publicly criticized Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” for increasing the budget deficit, clashing with DOGE’s mission to cut federal spending.

He also opposed Trump’s tariffs, which impacted his business interests, particularly Tesla’s international supply chains.

In a series of posts on X, Musk argued that the bill would undermine the goal of DOGE to cut government spending and reduce the deficit.

This comes after the billionaire’s recent exit from his position as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The huge number of detergents Burkina Faso’s newly established local factory produces daily has been released

As we reported earlier, Burkina Faso took a significant step toward industrialization and economic self-sufficiency.

They made this possible with the opening of its first large-scale detergent production facility.

The project, identified as the Fassi Industrial Complex is located in Napamboum, Pabre and was commissioned on March 6, 2025.

It was inaugurated by no other person than the leader of the moment, President Ibrahim Traore.

According to researches we made, the project cost approximately $7.4 million but the question everything asks is that is it worth investing that amount into?

The answer is easy, Yes it is worth every penny and this is because the factory has a production capacity of 300 tons of detergent per day.

Burkina Faso have been witnessing great developments for sometime now despite some political unrest.

Since the military takeover led by Captain Ibrahim Traore, there have been reports of great developments in the country and the detergent processing plant is one of them.

Iran supreme leader accuse US of possessing atomic bombs to cause massive destruction across the world

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is not ending his personal feud with the United States anytime soon.

He has publicly criticized the United States for possessing atomic bombs while questioning Iran’s nuclear program.

In an X post via his official X account, he once again questioned the US’ decision to poke nose into Iran’s affairs.

The X post reads , “You Americans possess atomic bombs and have the massive destruction of the world at your disposal. What business is it of yours whether the Iranian nation should or shouldn’t have uranium enrichment?”

The post was part of his broader rejection of a U.S. proposal for a new nuclear deal,l between Iran and the United States.

He labeled the deal as one which is 100 percent against his countries Iran’s interest

The Iran supreme leader emphasized that uranium enrichment is key to their pursuit of energy independence.

Many believes Khamenei’s comments reflect Iran’s long-standing defiance of U.S. demands to halt its nuclear activities.

He went on to frame the U.S in multiple posts as hypocritical for maintaining its own nuclear arsenal while pressuring Iran.

Furious judge blocks Trump from arresting Columbia student

A federal judge has blocked President Donald Trump’s administration from arresting Columbia University student Yunseo Chung after a scathing hearing attacking the government’s conduct in the case, Adam Klasfeld reported for All Rise News on Thursday.

“For nearly three months, the Department of Homeland Security has unsuccessfully tried to find and arrest Chung for deportation proceedings,” the report noted, despite her having no criminal accusations apart from a now-dismissed misdemeanor charge related to her involvement in protests. “A federal judge last week proposed a solution to break the impasse. Immigration and Customs Enforcement can simply serve her attorneys with a notice to appear, initiating Chung’s deportation proceedings — while preventing what the judge called an unnecessary and traumatizing arrest.”

However, in the hearing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Waterman refused this proposal, saying, “ICE has broad discretion over actions and decisions to conduct arrests and initiate removal proceedings, including the manner in which it serves.”

Chung’s attorney, Ramzi Kassem, slammed this position, saying that “The government is simply refusing to take yes for an answer,” and that the only reason they could have for insisting on a physical arrest is so they can transfer her to a distant detention facility in Texas or Louisiana where she would be cut off from her support groups.

U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald appeared to agree with Kassem, saying, “This is a new world. I’m a little taken aback,” and blasting the prosecutor’s position as “disturbing” and “disappointing.” She concluded the hearing by issuing an injunction barring the administration from arresting Chung.

Trump officials have ramped up mass deportation efforts, and a key part of that has been a harsh crackdown on international students who participated in campus protests against Israel’s occupation of Gaza.

Other student activists who have been targeted include Columbia University graduate student Mahmoud Khalil, who was shipped across the country to Louisiana away from his pregnant wife who has since given birth; and Tufts University doctoral student Rümeysa Öztürk, whom a judge found had her First Amendment rights violated when federal law enforcement arrested her.

Elon Musk lost $34 billion of his net worth in a day from his Trump spat

Tech billionaire Elon Musk’s flagship businesses took a severe hit amid his public fight with President Donald Trump, as Tesla’s stock slid over 14 points, and SpaceX fell almost 5 points. But it’s even worse than that, Bloomberg reported, as all of this had a devastating impact on Musk’s personal net worth.

“Minute by minute, post by post, Elon Musk’s very public, extremely online feud with President Donald Trump sliced into his vaunted status as the world’s richest person,” reported Dylan Sloan and Tom Maloney. “The final damage at day’s end: $34 billion erased from his personal net worth, the second-largest loss ever in the history of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index of the 500 wealthiest people on the planet. The only bigger one: his own wipeout in November 2021.”

Musk remains the wealthiest man on Earth at well over $300 billion. However, the losses today constitute an over 9 percent drop in his net worth, and well below his peak near half a trillion dollars at the start of the year.

The tech mogul for months has been one of Trump’s closest allies, having contributed millions of dollars to his election campaign and essentially run large parts of the campaign operation himself, and heading up the administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) task force to purge the civil service and freeze government grants across the board.

However, as Musk has formally left his White House advisory position in recent weeks, tensions between him and Trump have risen.

Musk was reportedly enraged when Trump abruptly pulled the nomination of one of his close friends to serve as head of NASA, and more recently has railed against Trump’s “big beautiful bill” to extend tax cuts and cut Medicaid and food stamps, asserting it makes the government even less fiscally solvent and undercuts what DOGE was trying to do.

As Trump has begun pushing back against Musk’s criticism, Musk has thrown the kitchen sink at Trump, calling for his impeachment and implying that he is a child predator.

Analyst urges Trump to go after DOGE workers

President Donald Trump has threatened to escalate his feud with tech billionaire Elon Musk into weaponized federal policy, canceling his longtime ally’s subsidies and federal contracts as Musk rails against Trump and attacks his signature tax cut bill currently under debate in the Senate.

But if Trump wants to really bring the heat and do something constructive for the American people in the process, analyst Van Jones said on a CNN panel Thursday, he should start investigating the workers Musk brought into the government through his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) task force.

“Look, a couple of things,” said Jones. “One is, you know, the power that Elon Musk still has is significant. Somebody said Trump has three and a half more years, Elon has 40. He’s a billionaire. He’s got a long-term play.”

“I believe it was Elon Musk who said that,” cut in anchor Anderson Cooper.

“Elon’s correct. You good at math?” said Jones, to chuckles. “But the other piece of it is those DOGE employees … are very dangerous. If Donald Trump is smart, the first thing he’s going to do is fire, investigate and prosecute all of Elon’s people who are all throughout government with their laptops downloading data right now.”

“You think he should prosecute them?” Cooper pressed him.

“Listen, I don’t think that what they’re doing is legal,” said Jones. “A lot of them don’t have the proper clearances. And I think that if you investigate, you’ll find they’ve uploaded data into servers that are that are the wrong, the wrong thing to do. So I think there should definitely be an investigation there. If Donald Trump is smart, the leverage that Elon has is he left, his kids didn’t. They’re still in there. So this fight, if it’s going to be a fight that Donald Trump prevails on in the short term, go after DOGE. Long term, he’s got to steal the Republican Party to deal with an Elon Musk that’s promising to spend money now in a decade from now.”

House Democrats press DOJ on Musk’s claim Donald Trump is in Epstein files

House Democrats are pressing the Justice Department and FBI to confirm whether Elon Musk’s explosive claim that Donald Trump appears in the Jeffrey Epstein files is true, Axios reported Thursday.

In a letter first obtained by Axios, Reps. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) and Robert Garcia (D-CA) asked Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel to “immediately clarify” whether the president is named in the files – a claim Musk aired in a social media post Thursday.

Trump “is in the Epstein files,” Musk wrote, claiming to his followers that’s the “real reason” the records have not been fully released. The tech billionaire also called for Trump’s impeachment, a move even many Democrats have not pursued, Axios noted.

The letter from Lynch and Garcia – both top Democrats on the House oversight panels – is “the starkest example to date of how the highly public feud between the president and his onetime lieutenant is playing right into the hands of Trump’s political opponents,” Axios reported.

“The lawmakers asked for a timeline of the DOJ’s declassification and publication of the Epstein files, an explanation for why they haven’t turned over any new documents since February,” the outlet added.

Trump’s ties to Epstein are well-documented, the Democratic lawmakers pointed out in their letter. They also warned that any attempts “to shield the President from truth and accountability merits intense scrutiny by Congress and by the Department of Justice.”

Egypt and Saudi Arabia finalized a $4 billion bridge across the Red Sea, connecting Africa and Asia

Egypt and Saudi Arabia have finalized plans for the construction of an infrastructure project.

The project, termed as the “Moses Bridge” or “King Salman bin Abdulaziz Bridge,” will connect Africa and Asia across the Red Sea’s Strait of Tiran.

Reports suggests that it will be a 32-kilometer bridge which will link Ras Hamid in northwestern Saudi Arabia to Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

The project is fully financed by Saudi Arabia with an estimated worth of $4 billion aimed to enhance trade, tourism, and regional connectivity.

It will potentially serve over one million travelers annually, including pilgrims heading to Mecca.

According to sources, all plans gave been drawn and only left with financial approval from the Saudi Finance sector for construction to begin.

Saudi Arabia believes that the bridge aligns with their vision 2030 policy and NEOM project.

Brian McKnight Reportedly Made No Effort to Reach Out to His Son Before He Died

R&B singer Brian McKnight is facing backlash again after the death of his estranged son, Niko McKnight, who passed away at age 32 following a two-year battle with cancer. Family members say Brian made no effort to contact Niko during his illness or final days.

Niko died surrounded by his mother, Julie McKnight, his brother Brian Jr., his wife Carla, and other family members. Brian McKnight was noticeably absent. Julie confirmed Niko’s passing on Instagram.

In April 2024, Brian said he and his wife, Leilani Mendoza, had arranged medical and financial support for Niko. He claimed Julie asked them to step back, and they respected her wishes. Julie later denied that version of events stating, “He is a liar.”

According to WBLS, Brian’s relationship with his older children has been strained for years. In 2019, he publicly called them “entitled” and “products of sin.” In 2023, he legally changed his name to match his newborn son’s, further distancing himself from his older kids.

Niko once performed with Brian in the group MCKNIGHT, but later spoke out about their strained relationship. He claimed Brian forced him to do humiliating tasks as a teen and once called him “evil.”

Despite everything, Niko said he wanted to make peace before he died. He shared that he only wanted to hear his father say “I love you.” But Brian reportedly said he couldn’t say it unless he truly meant it.

Kanye West’s tweets could reportedly be used against him in Lauren Pisciotta’s alleged sexual harassment lawsuit.

Kanye West has made numerous offensive and vulgar posts on X (formerly Twitter) in recent months that may come back to bite him.

Kanye West’s rampant offensive posts on X (formerly Twitter) may play a key role as evidence in Lauren Pisciotta’s alleged sexual harassment lawsuit. Her lawyer, Arick Fudali, spoke about the case with Complex for a recent interview. In doing so, he shared several of the controversial posts he has in mind.

“I have never, in my entire career of representing alleged victims, seen a defendant tweet out admissions to the case in the middle of litigation and discovery,” Fudali said, as caught by AllHipHop. “This is absolutely a new one.”

Among the alleged posts he read included the following: “I used to fck employees in my office.” “That employee—pssy hits different.” “Life is about using your position to fck the baddest btch possible.” “I’m a walking Me Too.” “Grab a btch by the pssy.” “I’m a big-time perv.”

Fudali continued: “I represent cases against a lot of volatile, unpredictable, high profile individuals who are not afraid to say things. I’ve never seen anything like this: where the defendant is admitting that he’s sexually harasses his employees, while I represent a former employee accusing him of sexual harassment. That is certainly a first for me. As much as I look forward to deposing him, I also very much look forward to trying this case in front of a jury. With only just this evidence, there’s enough at this point.”

Elon Musk Calls for Trump’s Impeachment After Explosive White House Fallout

A heated public clash erupted today between former allies President Donald Trump and billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk, marking a dramatic turn in their once-close relationship. The fallout began at a White House event where Trump said he was “very disappointed” in Musk, following the Tesla and SpaceX CEO’s harsh criticism of a major Republican legislative proposal. In a stunning escalation, New York Post reports that Musk has now called for Trump to be impeached and replaced by Vice President JD Vance, signaling that their political and personal split has reached an irreversible breaking point.

Musk had announced his departure from the administration last month, saying his work was complete and that it was time to “move on.” At the time, lawmakers close to Musk downplayed the move as routine. However, tensions escalated when Musk called Trump’s sweeping domestic bill — dubbed the “Big, Beautiful Bill” — a “disgusting abomination.” Musk cited its projected impact on the federal deficit but denied that his opposition was tied to the bill’s elimination of electric vehicle tax credits, despite speculation to the contrary.

In response, Trump suggested Musk’s criticisms were disingenuous, claiming the billionaire “knew the bill inside and out” and only raised objections after leaving his post. Trump implied Musk’s disapproval stemmed from the loss of federal support for electric vehicles, although there has never been a national EV mandate. The president further hinted at retaliation, raising the possibility of canceling SpaceX and Tesla’s lucrative federal contracts, which have included work with NASA and the U.S. military.

Musk quickly responded on his platform, X, publicly denying Trump’s claims and asserting he was never aligned with the bill’s provisions. He went a step further, claiming Trump and Republican leaders would not have won the 2024 election without his support. Musk even polled followers about forming a new political party and accused the president of being named in unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files — a claim he did not substantiate. CNN reported that Musk did not provide proof of access to those sealed documents, and the White House has yet to comment.

As the feud intensified, Musk endorsed a post calling for Trump’s impeachment and suggested Vice President JD Vance should assume the presidency. “Yes,” Musk wrote in reply to a user who claimed Elon would defeat Trump in a political showdown. In another striking announcement, Musk said SpaceX would begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft — a move that could severely disrupt operations at the International Space Station, where Dragon plays a critical role in cargo and crew transport.

The Dragon spacecraft, according to SpaceX, is the only active vehicle capable of returning significant cargo from space and can carry up to seven passengers. Its importance to NASA missions was evident last year when it safely returned two astronauts who were stranded on the ISS due to issues with a Boeing transport module. If Musk follows through on halting Dragon operations, the consequences for U.S. space missions could be severe — potentially putting national space strategy in jeopardy amid a deepening political and personal feud.

NBA YoungBoy May Not Be Off The Hook Despite Trump Pardonby Sam Moore

NBA YoungBoy may not be out of legal problems even though he received a presidential pardon from Donald Trump.

YoungBoy was set for a lengthy stint on probation after he was convicted on gun charges but Trump opted to pardon the rapper for his crimes.

It’s a decision that has not sat well with Utah lawmakers who called out Trump for letting YoungBoy off the hook.

Chad Jensen and Taylor Sorensen, said in a joint statement: “We are extremely proud of the work our investigator and prosecutors did on this case, as well as grateful for all the help we received from other local and federal agencies. Mr. Gaulden [YB] pled guilty to the charges in this investigation, and we feel strongly the Justice System in Cache County is far from a ‘weaponized system of justice.’”

Trevor Lee, a member of Utah House District 16, also said: “As a state we should still go after him.”

NBA YoungBoy thanked Trump after he received his pardon.

YoungBoy said in a statement after news of the pardon was made public: “I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building — as a man, as a father, and as an artist.”

Trump and the White House are yet to comment on the reasons behind the pardon but the Republican president does have a history of acting favorably towards rap stars.

Lil Wayne and Kodak Black were famously pardoned by Trump at the end of his first term as president in 2021.

At the time, Kodak was in the middle of a prison stint over a weapons charge with Trump citing the rapper’s “philanthropic efforts” as a reason for the pardon.

Wayne was also pardoned on gun charges as he awaited sentencing.

Weezy then thanked Trump for the pardon: “I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community. I also want to thank @bradfordcohen for working so diligently to secure another chance for me. Love!”

Before the pardon arrived, Wayne had publicly endorsed Trump as he was running for re-election in 2020, a race he ultimately lost to Joe Biden.
