Senior US government official ‘confirms existence of UFOs’ in shock new documentary

A senior US Government official has confirmed ‘the existence of UFOs’ in a new trailer, with a former official confirming the existence.

The revelation came from a teaser for an upcoming Prime Video documentary, The Age of Disclosure, which will focus on the belief that the existence of alien life has been covered up by the government for decades.

Presented by TV and Film producer Dan Farah, the doc suggests that the United States have been subject to an 80 year cover-up, and includes interviews with multiple senior government officials.

Amongst those shown to be interviewed in the trailer is Marco Rubio, the United States Secretary of State, and one of the highest-ranking members of the current US government.

Rubio, a major Donald Trump ally, appears in the documentary and states that UFOs have been spotted flying over restricted nuclear facilities.

The Secretary of State does not exactly suggest that these flying objects are silver saucers with green aliens hanging out the top, but in the trailer doesn’t specify his stance on the investigations.

He says in the trailer: “We’ve had repeated instances of something operating in the airspace over restricted nuclear facilities — and it’s not ours.”

Rubio goes on to say that ‘even Presidents have been operating on a need-to-know basis’.

The most shocking revelation from the trailer however comes from Jay Stratton, a retired Defense Intelligence Agency official.

Stratton was the former director of the government’s UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) Task Force and confirms that he has seen both alien craft and alien beings.

He says: “I have seen, with my own eyes, non-human craft and non-human beings.”

Farah previously spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the documentary, calling it the ‘biggest disinformation campaign in the history of the U.S. government.”

He went on to add: “Clearly, the facts around this topic have been covered up for 80 years and kept from the public, and every single high-level, credible person I interviewed did not think that was right.

“They knew that was the case, and they did not think it was acceptable.”

The film has been highly touted, but some who have seen it so far are skeptical about the claims.

Whilst Variety’s Owen Gleiberman acknowledged that they ‘want to believe’, they were not convinced by the arguments outlined in the doc.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Daniel Fienberg points to the legitimacy of those interviewed, particularly Marco Rubio, before saying: “My problem with The Age of Disclosure isn’t the lack of opposing voices.

“It’s that there couldn’t be experts debunking anything here. Nothing is proven, and thus nothing can be refuted.

“If somebody insists, without evidence, that there’s an underground bunker somewhere with a thousand alien bodies and 50 alien spacecraft, it’s impossible for anybody to refute.”

For those X-Files fans who want to believe and thus want to judge for themselves however, the documentary will release on Prime Video November 21.

Brain surgeon denies letting daughter, 12, drill into patient’s head

A brain surgeon has denied claims that she allowed her 12-year-old daughter to partake in an emergency procedure.

A court in Graz, Austria, this week heard how the medic allegedly allowed the child to drill a hole into a patient’s skull in January 2024.

The bizarre surgical scandal began when a farm worker, 33, was rushed to the University Hospital Graz after a heavy branch had fallen on his head.

He was brought in with brain trauma and at the end of the emergency surgery, doctors performed a minor procedure which involved inserting a probe to measure intracranial pressure.

To do so, a hole had to be drilled into the man’s skull – and the senior surgeon’s adolescent daughter is alleged to have done the honours.

The youngster – who is said to be interested in the medical field – was revising in a room next door and begged her mother to allow her to watch the operation, according to The Times.

Citing local media reports, the outlet claims that the brain surgeon told the court: “I didn’t get into any lengthy discussions, but let myself be persuaded to say, ‘Yes, come on then.’”

She said her ‘biggest mistake’ was allowing her child to get close to the operating table, to which judge Gundula Neudeck responded: “Your biggest mistake was probably taking her there in the first place; a child has no business being there.”

The 12-year-old was given surgical scrubs and joined the team in the operating theatre, and her mother told the court that the operation was successful and the patient was saved.

The surgeon claims she then left to make a phone call while leaving her junior colleague in charge while they drilled a hole into the man’s skull.

She alleges that she had no idea whether her daughter’s hands had been on the drill when it was applied to the patient’s head, although her fellow surgeon claims the child did in fact assist him.

He told the court the daughter asked if she could help, explaining: “I was surprised by the question, but I didn’t refuse it, which was a huge mistake.”

The medic – who has already been sacked, alongside his female superior – said he was under the impression that the unnamed mum had approved of this.

He told the Austrian court that the girl placed her hand on the stick-shaped drill, but that he had never relinquished control of it, explaining that he dictated the positioning of it and had his foot on the pedal which controlled its speed.

“I was always in control of the pedal and always in control of the drill,” he tearfully said.

“You are proud that you have taken good care of the patient, but you only realise later that a mistake has been made that is morally and ethically unacceptable.”

An anaesthetist who was present claimed she had seen four hands on the drill, two of which were the 12-year-old’s.

Despite claiming she doesn’t know whether her daughter operated the drill, the brain surgeon bragged that her child had just drilled her first hole, while in the intensive care unit discussing the operation with her surgical team and her daughter.

Asked why she had made this statement if it was supposedly false, she said: “Out of stupid maternal pride. Out of bloody stupid maternal pride.”

The young girl turned down the opportunity to testify in court, while the patient was unable to testify earlier this week because he was unwell.

Stefan Wolfsberger, the head of neurosurgery at the University Hospital Graz, said that a lot of patients ‘are afraid’ of undergoing surgery there because of the incident.

“This is terrible,” he said. “The case is known all over the world, people from every continent are talking to me about it.”

Prosecutor Julia Steiner told the court that the seriousness of the surgical scandal – which came to light when hospital management received an anonymous tip off – ‘simply cannot be played down’.

She said: “What would have happened if the drill had been defective and had not stopped automatically after breaking through the skull bone? All of this showed incredible disrespect towards the patient and one’s own colleagues.”

Although both surgeons have been fired from the hospital, they face the prospect of being found guilty of causing bodily harm by letting an untrained person treat a patient, which carries a prison sentence of up to one year or a fine.

The case has been adjourned until December 10.

93 year old president Paul Biya is under pressure to concede defeat and handover power to Issa Tchiroma Bakary

CAMEROON 🇨🇲

93 year old president Paul Biya is under pressure to concede defeat and handover power to Issa Tchiroma Bakary. Mr Tchiroma made a public declaration, announcing himself as the winner of the October 12th presidential elections.

He called on Paul Biya who has been president for 43 years to peacefully concede and hand over power to him.

Cameroonian used seem determined to end the 93 year old’s long reign as they initiated protests across four different regions in the country. They complain of electoral fraud which is in process to favor incumbent president Paul Biya. They’ve reportedly intervened and avoided several cases in which the election officials and representatives were being compromised under pressure.

The military has resulted to using teargas and water cannons to disperse the angry youth population for the fear of the unknown which seems very likely at the moment.

There’s an ongoing revolution in Africa where youths are rising to the occasion to seize power from old folks. Cameroon might just be the best destination for a revolution.

PF STRUCTURES INTACT AS TONSE ALLIANCE BACKS EDGAR LUNGU’S GREEN MOVEMENT

PF STRUCTURES INTACT AS TONSE ALLIANCE BACKS ECL’S GREEN MOVEMENT

Lusaka… Thursday, October 16, 2025

The Tonse Alliance has reaffirmed its recognition of the Patriotic Front (PF) as the anchor party within the coalition, describing recent attempts to undermine the party’s growing influence as “misguided and politically motivated.”

According to Mr. Ibrahim Kabwe Mwamba, a member of the Tonse Alliance Council of Leaders, the alliance’s rules of engagement were formally established under the guidance of Interim Chairman Dr. Danny Pule and Secretary General Hon. Raphael Nakachinda, acting on behalf of former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu (ECL) and the PF Central Committee.

“Apostle Danny Pule, on behalf of the Tonse Alliance Council of Leaders, recognized the Patriotic Front as the anchor party of the alliance,” Mr. Mwamba said.

“Despite attempts by certain individuals to discredit the fast-growing green political movement associated with ECL, the PF’s national structure remains intact and functional in all ten provinces.”

Mr. Mwamba added that the state’s reported efforts to reorganize leadership within the PF by positioning Robert Chabinga as acting president have not disrupted the existing organizational framework.

“The Patriotic Front continues to operate under the leadership of Hon. Given Lubinda as Acting President and Hon. Raphael Nakachinda as Secretary General, in line with the party constitution and in honor of the legacy of the late Sixth Republican President,” he stated.

He further emphasized that all aspiring presidential candidates within the PF will be required to follow the party’s prescribed electoral process at the forthcoming national convention, slated for the first week of November 2025.

“Only through a legitimate and constitutionally mandated process can the PF secure the support of President Lungu’s base and the Tonse Alliance Council of Leaders as we prepare to challenge President Hakainde Hichilema in the next general elections,” Mr. Mwamba said.

UPND CALLS ON PF TO CEASE VIOLENT CADREISM

UPND CALLS ON PF TO CEASE VIOLENT CADREISM

The United Party for National Development (UPND) is deeply disturbed by two recent and troubling acts of political intimidation that once again expose the entrenched culture of thuggery and cadreism within the Patriotic Front (PF).

Zambians vividly remember the dark days of PF cadreism — from the bus stops to the markets — when violence, fear, and intimidation became tools of political control. Sadly, the same tendencies have resurfaced as factions within the PF jostle for power and influence.

Recently, Acting PF President Given Lubinda was forced to cancel a scheduled radio interview at Phoenix FM after suspected PF cadres surrounded the station, creating a hostile and unsafe environment.

In another incident, suspected PF cadres invaded the home of Sean Tembo, disrupting a planned press briefing, blocking journalists’ access, and violating the sanctity of a private residence.

These are not isolated occurrences. They are deliberate tactics designed to commandeer power through fear rather than persuasion. The UPND condemns such conduct in the strongest possible terms.

We call upon all PF factions — including those aligned with Mr. Given Lubinda and Mr. Brian Mundubile — to immediately disown these violent methods, restore discipline among their members, and commit to engaging in issue-based politics rooted in dialogue and democratic values. If this behaviour remains unchecked, it will send shivers through the electorate and the general citizenry, raising fears that the 2026 elections may not be violence-free, potentially discouraging voter participation.

Under the UPND, Zambia has recorded a succession of peaceful, violence-free by-elections. Our country must never again allow violence and cadreism to enter its politics.

The UPND further urges law enforcement agencies to act decisively and impartially in curbing all political violence and protecting the safety of all citizens, regardless of party affiliation.

The PF must rise above violence and thuggery. Politics should be about ideas, not intimidation.

Democracy is built on freedom, respect, and the rule of law.

REASON WHY HARRY KALABA NEVER GOT ALONG WITH EDGAR LUNGU

REASON WHY HARRY KALABA NEVER GOT ALONG WITH EDGAR LUNGU

By Chilufya Kasonde

The political rift between former Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba and former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu (ECL) has long intrigued political observers. While many have speculated on ideological differences or policy disputes, insiders reveal that the fallout had more to do with ego, ambition, and mistrust than with principles.

When Zambia lost its fifth Republican President, Michael Chilufya Sata, in 2014, the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) was plunged into chaos. The succession battle that followed split the party into factions. Among those who played a crucial role in Edgar Lungu’s rise to power was none other than Harry Kalaba, then one of the influential young leaders in the PF government.

However, according to sources close to the events, Kalaba’s support for Lungu came with expectations. He reportedly hoped to be rewarded with the Vice-Presidency, a position that eventually went to Inonge Wina. The appointment is said to have deeply unsettled Kalaba, whose frustration soon turned into quiet resentment.

“He felt sidelined and unappreciated after playing a role in rallying support for ECL,” one former PF insider said. “From that point on, his relationship with the President became strained. He made no secret of his disappointment.”

President Lungu, sensing the growing tension, initially withheld a Cabinet position for Kalaba, allegedly after being warned of his growing bitterness. But in what sources describe as an act of reconciliation, ECL later appointed him as Minister of Foreign Affairs, demonstrating his forgiving nature.

Kalaba’s tenure at Foreign Affairs, however, was not without controversy. He gained a reputation for assertiveness — at times bordering on arrogance — and his handling of the Sahrawi diplomatic issue reportedly angered both local and international partners. Those close to State House at the time say that this episode was the final straw, leading to a complete breakdown in trust between Kalaba and President Lungu.

Feeling cornered, Kalaba resigned from government in 2018, citing rampant corruption — ironically among the same individuals with whom he would later collaborate in opposition circles. His resignation was widely seen as a political maneuver rather than an act of conviction.

In the years that followed, Kalaba’s interactions with Lungu in the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) further revealed the deep animosity between the two. Party insiders recount tense moments in meetings, where Kalaba would openly challenge and even raise his voice at Lungu, showing open defiance to the former Head of State.

One senior UKA member recalls a particularly emotional confrontation where Lungu was reduced to tears after Kalaba accused him of dishonesty during a heated debate. “It was humiliating,” the source said. “Kalaba has a strong personality, but his inability to show respect or restraint has cost him many allies.”

Today, as Kalaba continues to position himself among opposition ranks, political observers note that his greatest challenge may not be political structures or public appeal — but rather his own temperament and ego. His history of falling out with allies — from PF to UKA — paints a portrait of a politician who struggles to coexist within collective leadership.

For many within Zambia’s political class, the Kalaba–Lungu fallout serves as a cautionary tale — a reminder that in politics, ambition without humility can quickly turn allies into adversaries.

MUKANDILA URGES GOVERNMENT TO PUBLICIZE TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR CONSTITUTION-MAKING COMMITTEE

MUKANDILA URGES GOVERNMENT TO PUBLICIZE TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR CONSTITUTION-MAKING COMMITTEE

Lusaka, Thursday, October 16, 2025.

Constitutional lawyer Celestin Mambula Mukandila has called on the government to make public the Terms of Reference (ToR) for any constitution-making or amendment committee, saying transparency is essential for legitimacy and public trust in Zambia’s constitutional reform process.

In a statement released on Thursday, Mukandila said the recent Constitutional Court ruling in the case of Munir Zulu & Celestine Mukandila v. Attorney General affirmed that any constitutional amendment initiated without broad public consultation is unconstitutional.

He stressed that before any substantive work begins, the Terms of Reference must be made public to clearly outline the scope, powers, process, composition, and accountability mechanisms guiding the committee’s operations.

“The ToR must define what is to be addressed, what powers the committee holds, how consultations and reviews will be conducted, and how members are selected,” Mukandila said. “Such openness ensures that the people of Zambia remain recognized as owners of the Constitution and prevents attempts to fast-track changes without their consent.”

Mukandila warned that failure to publish or adhere to transparent Terms of Reference could expose the constitutional process to legal challenges and potential nullification, citing the Zulu & Mukandila case as precedent.

Kabimba wants Mutati to chase Airtel out of Zambia, or compel it to improve services within 90 days

Kabimba wants Mutati to chase Airtel out of Zambia, or compel it to improve services within 90 days

FORMER Minister of Justice Wynter Kabimba has written to the Ministry of Science and Technology, calling for urgent government intervention over what he describes as “prolonged and unacceptable” poor network services provided by Airtel Zambia.

In a letter dated October 14, 2025, and officially received by the ministry on October 15, Kabimba urged Minister of Science and Technology Felix Mutati to act decisively, accusing the mobile service provider of taking advantage of weak regulatory systems while raking in huge profits from Zambian subscribers.

“For more than a year now, we the Airtel subscribers have been experiencing poor and intermittent network service from the largest of the mobile providers in the country,” Kabimba stated. He noted that while many initially attributed the disruptions to load shedding, it had become evident that this was not the main or sole cause.

Kabimba, who is also a senior lawyer, argues that Airtel has failed to live up to its initial promise of providing quality ICT services to Zambians.

He says the company appears to be taking customers’ silence for complacency, despite what he termed as “colossal profits” accumulated over the years.

He further accused the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority -ZICTA of lacking the capacity to hold Airtel accountable, attributing this weakness to government policies that prioritize investor interests over service delivery.

“In view of this, I wish to suggest that Airtel should be given a timeline of not more than 90 days within which to improve its services, in default of which the company should leave the country to save the Zambians from its extortionist business culture,” Kabimba states.

Kabimba has copied the said letter to Airtel Zambia’s General Manager.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has not yet issued an official response to Kabimba’s concerns.

PRESS STATEMENT CALLING FOR LENIENCY AND COMPASSION IN THE CASE OF THE GRADUATING NURSE

PRESS STATEMENT CALLING FOR LENIENCY AND COMPASSION IN THE CASE OF THE GRADUATING NURSE

For Immediate Release
Date: Thursday, 16th October 2025

In light of the recent statement by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) regarding the conduct of a graduating nurse whose video has circulated widely on social media, I wish to appeal for leniency and understanding in handling this matter.

While it is true that professionalism and decorum must always guide those entrusted with the noble calling of nursing, it is equally important that we remain a society capable of forgiveness, compassion, and balance. The young nurse in question has since apologized and expressed remorse for her actions, a gesture that should not be taken lightly.

Yes, discipline and accountability are essential to upholding professional standards. However, we must also acknowledge the human side of growth and learning. This young nurse represents a generation that needs guidance, not condemnation; mentorship, not exclusion. Her lapse in judgment, while regrettable, should serve as a teachable moment rather than a life-altering punishment.

We must be honest with ourselves about the standards we set for others and ensure they are guided by fairness, consistency, and empathy. As a society, our strength lies not in how harshly we punish, but in how we help young people rise after they fall.

Therefore, I call upon the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia, the Ministry of Health, and the general public to accept the apology tendered by the young nurse and to extend grace. Let this experience strengthen our professional and moral compass, not destroy a budding career full of promise.

Zambia’s future depends on nurturing, not silencing the potential within our youth.

KENYA’S HIGH COURT DECLINES TO HALT THE BURIAL OF FORMER PRIME MINISTER RAILA ODINGA, RULING IT IS IN LINE WITH HIS WISHES

🚨BREAKING: KENYA’S HIGH COURT DECLINES TO HALT THE BURIAL OF FORMER PRIME MINISTER RAILA ODINGA, RULING IT IS IN LINE WITH HIS WISHES

By: Citizen TV Kenya

The High Court of Kenya has declined to stop the burial of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, following a petition filed by Michael Onyango Otieno, a self-described senior member of the Luo community.

Otieno had moved to court under a certificate of urgency, challenging the 72-hour timeline set for the burial of the late opposition leader. He argued that the timeframe was inconsistent with the Luo community’s cultural traditions and therefore unconstitutional.

However, Justice Mwita ruled that the applicant had not demonstrated that the ongoing burial arrangements contradicted the wishes of the deceased. The judge stated that the court could not intervene at this stage and therefore declined to issue conservatory orders.

Justice Mwita directed that the petition be served on the State and Lee Funeral Home, scheduling the matter for directions on October 23, 2025.

In his petition, Otieno seeks a declaration that the burial of the late Raila Odinga within 72 hours violates Article 44 of Kenya’s Constitution, which protects the right to participate in cultural life and practices of one’s choice.

He contends that the arrangements fail to consider Odinga’s deep connection to Luo cultural traditions—particularly tero yuak, a mourning ritual regarded as essential for the burial of men of Luo descent.

“The rushed burial denies the Luo community across Africa an opportunity to give the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga a befitting send-off,” the petitioner argued, describing Odinga as “a man who revered his culture throughout his 80 years of life—both as a statesman and a revered political icon.”

Otieno further claimed that the burial timeline undermines the constitutional right of cultural expression and participation guaranteed under Article 44(1) and (2), which ensures that every person and community has the freedom to practice and preserve their cultural and linguistic heritage.

FOUR ZAMBIAN  SURETIES IN HOT SOUP OVER THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALLEGED INDIAN “HUMAN TRAFFICKERS”

FOUR ZAMBIAN  SURETIES IN HOT SOUP OVER THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALLEGED INDIAN “HUMAN TRAFFICKERS”

FOUR Zambians who signed as sureties for two Indians charged with human trafficking have been given two weeks to locate the two ‘missing’ suspects or be punished.

If they fail to locate suspects, the sureties will have to pay K200, 000 each.

Failure to pay K200, 000 each will attract a jail term.

The sureties are; Harry Nkoma, 64, a pharmacy technologist, Josab Changa, 48, a human resource officer, Edward Lungu, 50, a director, and Francis Tafirenyika, 55, a laboratory technician.

They signed as sureties for Mohit Chala, Mobiar Mondal and Akshay Arora, who are facing eight counts of human trafficking and facilitating human trafficking.

Allegations are that between January 1 and July 30, 2025, Chala and Mondal, engaged in trafficking of Asmita Kumal, Sangita Budhathoki, Susmita Karki and Rina Shrastha.

It is further alleged that between the same dates, Arora, working with other persons unknown, facilitated the trafficking of Ms Kumal and three others.

When the case resumed yesterday, the prosecution was ready to proceed but only one accused person, Arora, was in court.

Defence lawyers said they had contacted their two clients last evening and advised them to be in court before 09:00 yesterday.

“This morning we made efforts to contact them by phone but they are out of reach,” a lawyer said.

The prosecution described the missing accused person’s conduct as intolerable, considering that they never informed their lawyers they would not make it to court.

“We apply that they be brought under warrant,” a prosecutor submitted.

Lusaka chief resident magistrate Davies Chibwili, who demanded an explanation from the sureties, gave the sureties 14 days to avail the accused or forfeit the K200, 000 they signed up for.

“You [sureties] promised that you would ensure the accused appear in court, so, you fooled us?” the incensed magistrate said.

“I have also issued bench warrants against the accused to be returned on October 29”.

AFRICAN UNION SUSPENDS MADAGASCAR FROM THE BLOC FOLLOWING MILITARY COUP

AFRICAN UNION SUSPENDS MADAGASCAR FROM THE BLOC FOLLOWING MILITARY COUP

THE African Union announced Wednesday that it had suspended Madagascar from its bodies with immediate effect “until constitutional order is restored after a coup that ousted President Andry Rajoelina.

The group previously suspended several other member states after military coups, including Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea.

The uprising resulted in a military-backed coup that brought Rajoelina to power as the transitional leader of his Indian Ocean country at the age of just 34.

On Tuesday, the same military unit that aided Rajoelina’s rise declared it was taking power in Madagascar and ousting him as president following weeks of youth-led protests — this time against Rajoelina and his government.

About 75% of the country’s 30 million people are affected by poverty, according to the World Bank, with lack of access to higher education, government corruption and the cost of living among the issues dominating the recent protests.

Meanwhile, Randrianirina “will be sworn in as president of Madagascar during a solemn hearing of the high constitutional court” on 17 October, the country’s military rulers said in a statement published on social media by a state television station.

President Hichilema Commissions United Capital Fertilizer’s 85MW Thermal Power Plant

President Hakainde Hichilema today officiated at the commissioning of United Capital Fertilizer’s (UCF) state-of-the-art 85-megawatt (MW) thermal power plant in Chilanga a major step toward strengthening Zambia’s fertilizer production and energy reliability.

The power plant, developed at a total investment cost of US$595 million, is part of UCF’s Ammonia and Urea Plant constructed by its parent company, the Wonderful Group of Companies. The project is designed to generate 85MW of power, with 45MW to be supplied to the national grid and 40MW dedicated to powering UCF’s fertilizer production facilities.

During the event, President Hichilema also witnessed the signing ceremony for Phase Two of UCF’s expansion a US$1.4 billion Urea Plant project that includes a 300MW thermal power facility. The development is expected to significantly boost Zambia’s fertilizer output while reinforcing energy self-sufficiency in the industrial sector.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Hichilema commended United Capital Fertilizer for its contribution to Zambia’s economic transformation, noting that the project aligns perfectly with the government’s industrialization and job creation agenda.

“This is the kind of private-sector partnership we need one that adds value locally, creates jobs, and powers industries sustainably,” President Hichilema said.

UCF’s integrated operations are expected to not only reduce Zambia’s dependence on imported fertilizer but also stabilize local supply for the agriculture sector. The company’s expansion underlines its long-term commitment to driving national development through innovation, investment, and industrial growth.

Senior government officials, representatives from the financial and energy sectors, and members of the Chilanga community attended the commissioning, which also received wide national and international media coverage.

“I’ve Been Wearing and Smelling Mkhwanazi Since July” – Mchunu Finally Speaks Out Amid Explosive Police Scandal

Suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has broken his silence before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee, saying he’s been unfairly accused by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi of political interference and corruption.

> “From the 6th of July, I’m wearing Gen. Mkhwanazi, I’m smelling Gen. Mkhwanazi… and this is the first opportunity I’ve had to explain myself. He’s been going to the commission for a long time, piling accusations on me,” said Mchunu in his emotional address.

The drama follows President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to place Mchunu on leave and launch a Judicial Commission of Inquiry after Mkhwanazi made bombshell claims that high-ranking politicians, police officers, prosecutors, and business figures were working with criminal networks to manipulate investigations and protect powerful interests.

The inquiry — known as the Madlanga Commission — is now digging into allegations that South Africa’s justice system has been deeply infiltrated by organised crime.

Mchunu insists he’s innocent and wants a fair chance to clear his name, while Mkhwanazi maintains that he stands by his evidence.

As the hearings unfold, South Africans are watching closely — asking whether this will finally expose the rot within law enforcement, or end as another case of “big talk, no action.

Kenyan Motorists stopped, passengers ordered to salute Raila’s portrait

Kenyan Motorists stopped, passengers ordered to salute Raila’s portrait

By:NTV  Kenya

Across Kenya today, roads have turned into open-air theaters of grief and devotion. From Kisumu to Nairobi, ordinary Kenyans are bringing traffic to a standstill, not because of potholes or breakdowns, but because of pure, unfiltered reverence.

Motorists are being flagged down by crowds clutching Raila Odinga’s portraits like sacred relics, demanding a moment of silence, a sharp salute, or a booming chant of “Baba! Baba!” before granting passage.

In some towns, matatu passengers are being politely but firmly asked to alight and join impromptu prayers or mini-processions. Others report encountering enterprising roadside groups styling themselves as “funeral marshals,” apparently managing tribute traffic for a small “administrative” fee.

Videos flooding social media show boda boda riders staging full-blown highway blockades, waving flags and tree leaves, and honking like it’s a championship celebration. Others kneel right on the tarmac, tears flowing freely, as chants echo through the air.

What’s unfolding isn’t just mourning. It’s a rare, beautifully chaotic outpouring of emotion that only Raila Odinga could inspire. His supporters are treating this pre-funeral period like a national pilgrimage. Each town, each highway, a makeshift shrine to the man they christened Baba wa Taifa.

FORMER ZRA BOSS APPLIES FOR BAIL PENDING APPEAL

FORMER ZRA BOSS APPLIES FOR BAIL PENDING APPEAL

FORMER Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner General Kingsley Chanda has applied for bail pending appeal against his six year prison sentence  for wilful failure to comply with procedure.

Mr Chanda was convicted in three out of 22 counts of failure to follow procedure in the disposal the commission’s motor vehicles.

However the state has opposed a bail application by Chanda, stating that there was no likelihood of success to his appeal.

Further that the perusal of the grounds of appeal reveal no such prima facie merit, as it is solely rooted on general dissatisfaction with the outcome of the court judgement.

In this matter, Chanda was jointly charged with Kaoma, with 22 counts of wilful failure to comply with procedure relating to the manner they disposed of 22 used motor vehicles belonging to the Commission, as well as abuse of authority.

His co accused ZRA former Director of Administration callistus Kaoma is serving nine years in prison after being convicted in 16 counts.

Lubinda Says PF Can Win 2026 Election With 3 Months of Mobilisation

⬆️ Lubinda Says PF Can Win 2026 Election With 3 Months of Mobilisation

Patriotic Front acting president Given Lubinda says his party does not need years to prepare for the 2026 general election, arguing that with three months of serious organisation, the former ruling party can return to power.

Speaking during a live interview on Power FM Radio in Lusaka, Lubinda said the PF’s setbacks since 2021 were temporary and caused by a mix of internal divisions and external pressures, but insisted that the party’s grassroots energy remains intact.

“Three months is enough to organise, to win an election,” he said confidently, adding that the party has reconnected with its base and is ready to mount a coordinated campaign once a new presidential candidate is chosen.

Lubinda cited historical examples to defend his optimism. He recalled how former president Edgar Lungu successfully built a national campaign in a short time before the 2015 election and referenced Senegal’s recent election, where the opposition regrouped and triumphed in less than a month after its candidate was jailed.

Acknowledging that the PF could have consolidated its structures sooner, Lubinda said leadership challenges and external interference had delayed progress. With the party’s November convention approaching, he described it as “a turning point” for the PF’s internal renewal.

The convention is expected to elect a new party president and 2026 presidential candidate, closing a period of leadership uncertainty that has divided the party since Lungu’s death in June. After the event, Lubinda said, the PF will intensify campaigns targeting not only the presidency but parliamentary and local government races across the country.

“What is important is actually the determination, not necessarily the time,” Lubinda told listeners. “It is the determination which will matter.”

Analysts see Lubinda’s remarks as part of a broader effort to project unity and confidence ahead of the PF’s convention, which will test the party’s ability to rebuild its national machinery and appeal beyond its traditional strongholds.

For now, the PF’s challenge lies not only in organisation but in regaining public trust after years of internal strife and corruption allegations that still shape voter perception. Lubinda’s optimism reflects a renewed sense of urgency and the recognition that time, though short, may yet be enough to rewrite the party’s political story.

GOVERNMENT ACCUSED OF SECRET INVESTIGATION INTO FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU’S DEATH

GOVERNMENT ACCUSED OF SECRET INVESTIGATION INTO FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU’S DEATH

By: Thomas Afroman Mwale

The family of the late former President Edgar Lungu has alleged that the government secretly hired a private investigator to probe claims that Mr. Lungu had been poisoned, without the family’s knowledge.

Family spokesperson Makebi Zulu said the private investigator, in collaboration with South African authorities, visited the morgue on 23rd September 2025 in an attempt to access Mr. Lungu’s body adding that th investigator claimed to have received a docket file from a family member raising suspicions of poisoning.

Mr. Zulu confirmed that Mr. Lungu’s remains are currently with Two Mountains, although the family does not have precise details of the location.

He said Two Mountains has been tasked with providing updates on developments regarding the former president’s body.

Mr Zulu said When the family sought clarification from the government through their representative Secretary to Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa a comprehensive response was not provided.

The spokesperson has also expressed concern over the activities of a South African movement, Progressive Forces of South Africa, which allegedly filed a report with the South African Police Service claiming that Mr. Lungu had been murdered.

Mr. Zulu said the movement’s actions were used to disparage the Lungu family and vilify the late president.

Despite the challenges he emphasized that the Lungu family remains committed to ensuring that the former president is laid to rest in a manner that honors his dignity and wishes.

GOVERNMENT ACCUSED OF TARGETING ARCHBISHOP ALICK BANDA TO SABOTAGE LUNGU FAMILY MEDIATION

GOVERNMENT ACCUSED OF TARGETING ARCHBISHOP ALICK BANDA TO SABOTAGE LUNGU FAMILY MEDIATION

By Brian Matambo, Sandton, South Africa
15 October 2025

The Lungu family has accused the Zambian government of orchestrating and fuelling online attacks against Archbishop Alick Banda, describing the campaign as a deliberate attempt to derail mediation efforts in the ongoing dispute over the burial of former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

In a statement delivered by family spokesperson Hon. Makebi Zulu, the family said that soon after Archbishop Banda’s return from Europe on 3 October 2025, where he had been designated as the family’s chosen mediator, a wave of malicious online publications and coordinated smear campaigns were launched by individuals linked to the government.

“These attacks were scathing and calculated,” the statement read, “falling just short of calling His Grace a criminal. For days, Archbishop Banda’s name was dragged through the mud by media outlets and individuals associated with the State, creating an atmosphere of public ridicule and hostility.”

The family believes these actions were not random but part of a broader strategy to discredit Archbishop Banda and undermine his ability to mediate fairly between the family and the government. As a result, the anticipated talks that were to take place in early October have been significantly delayed.

“The government cannot claim to be pursuing dialogue while its surrogates are busy attacking one of the mediators chosen in good faith,” Hon. Zulu said, stressing that such behaviour erodes trust and “raises serious questions about the sincerity of those claiming to seek reconciliation.”

Despite the setbacks, the Lungu family reaffirmed its commitment to a peaceful and dignified resolution. The statement emphasized that the family’s sole objective remains to honour the late president’s dignity and wishes and to ensure that the mediation process is conducted in good faith.

“We remain hopeful that those in authority will reflect on the damage such attacks cause,” the family said. “We will not be provoked or distracted from seeking a resolution anchored on respect and truth.”

NASON  MSONI SAYS HICHILEMA WILL LOSE  THE PRESIDENCY IN 2026

MSONI SAYS HICHILEMA WILL LOSE  THE PRESIDENCY IN 2026

The assertion by Mr Hichilema that he has been told that he will win the Presidency but will lose both MPs and Councillors fell far short of the truth.

Truth be-told he will lose the Presidency too. It is highly unlikely that voters would vote against his MPs and Councillors but instead settle for Mr Hichilema as President.

The general voting pattern for most voters is that they usually vote for the same political party starting with the councillors, MPs and the President in that order. To imagine that voters vote against your MPs and Councillors but then decide to vote for you as President is living in an imaginary world.

Arguably the persons or institutions of state  that informed Mr Hichilema that he is going to win the Presidency in the 2026 elections was by far less candid and honest in their report. It is obvious to any right thinking person that Mr Hichilema didn’t get the correct perspective that is obtaining on the ground.

Clearly, the unsolicited truth is that he will miserably lose the presidency too.
In a nutshell, it is a political disaster in the waiting for Mr Hichilema.

My brothers in S/Province I didn’t mean to demean you but merely to discourage tribal voting – Kambwili

He writes:

It is exactly one year today since you died in that tragic accident on the way to Kasama for the politically motivated court case for which I am in prison today. You died fighting for my freedom which I eventually lost, today I am in prison battling very high BP, the authorities have refused to take me for speciality medical treatment, as I write today, my BP is 218/107 mmHg.

I thank God that I am still alive despite having BP that has been consistently over 200mmHg for over 2 months, i know for sure that you did not deserve to die and had it not been for this politically motivated case, you would still be alive today. You were both committed Christians, as Pastor and Elder and preached love and forgiveness.

I know who cased your death, God knows and they also know themselves, but deep down in the bottom of my heart I have forgiven them as the bible says vengeance is for God. Today our family and I celebrate your lives as I said on the day of your burial, it is painful to lose a brother let alone two at the same time, Rest in Peace my brothers, Mutale and Mwamba Kambwili, till we meet again on the other side.

Further I would like to sincerely apologise to all the people who might have been injured by the words I used during the Radiomano program in Kasama particularly the Tonga people and the people of Southern Province in general.

To you my brothers and sisters in Southern Province, my words were not meant to demean you in anyway but merely to discourage regional and tribal voting, please find it in your hearts to forgive me. We are One Zambia One Nation. Let Love Lead.

BREACH OF DIPLOMATIC ETIQUETTE BY PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA- Harry Kalaba

BREACH OF DIPLOMATIC ETIQUETTE BY PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA

LUSAKA, October 15, 2025-I wish to register my deep concern and utter disappointment over the recent public conduct of President Hakainde Hichilema, which constitutes a serious breach of diplomatic protocol and a disturbing interference in matters that are still active before our courts of law.

During his recent address at a United Party for National Development (UPND) mobilisation event at Mulungushi International Conference Centre,  President Hichilema made public revelations about private conversations he has had with several heads of state, notably the President of Turkey, His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa, the President of South Africa, His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, and the newly elected President of Malawi, His Excellency Peter Mutharika.

Of particular concern is the President’s admission that he engaged President Erdoğan to facilitate the coming of witnesses to Zambia in a case involving former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Joseph Malanji—a matter that is still active before the courts, with the State having expressed its intention to appeal and Hon. Malanji retaining his right to do so as well.

This statement is not only ill-advised, but it is also a direct violation of the principle of separation of powers and judicial independence. The President’s remarks amount to undue influence and political interference in a case that is under judicial consideration. Such actions risk undermining public confidence in the fairness and impartiality of our justice system.

Furthermore, President Hichilema’s decision to publicly disclose private and sensitive diplomatic conversations without prior consent or mutual understanding from the other heads of state. This serious ommission reflects a worrying disregard for diplomatic norms and international protocol. It is simply unacceptable for a Head of State to turn serious diplomatic engagements into political capital by broadcasting selective details for domestic consumption.

In particular, the President’s boastful narrative about discussions with President Mnangagwa over the return of a helicopter,  conversations with President Ramaphosa on a similar matter, and a recent phone call with President Mutharika regarding maize trade, reflects a dangerous trend of one-sided storytelling that risks embarrassing our country on the international stage.

Let us be clear: private diplomatic conversations are conducted in confidence to preserve mutual respect, trust, and strategic cooperation between nations. It is common international practice that when Heads of State engage publicly, especially via phone, it is pre-arranged, recorded, and communicated in a mutually agreed format, often with media presence from both sides. This has been done under leaders such as President Donald Trump and President Erdoğan himself, with international media coverage and not unilateral political grandstanding.

It is unfortunate that President Hichilema continues to mishandle international relations, risking Zambia’s diplomatic isolation. Leaders across the region and the broader global community will grow hesitant to engage freely with a counterpart who publicly reveals private discussions for political optics. No leader wants to be misquoted or have confidential matters misrepresented on foreign soil.

We therefore advise President Hichilema to exercise statesmanship and maturity in his public communications. If the intention is to showcase his international contacts, the proper protocol is to coordinate with the respective offices, obtain consent, and allow mutual media coverage, including by ZNBC, as is international best practice.

I urge the President’s media and foreign affairs teams to do the necessary research and provide proper guidance. The dignity of the presidency must be preserved, and Zambia’s reputation on the international stage must be protected.

As Citizens First, we call for the restoration of diplomacy rooted in discretion, mutual respect, and national interest—not cheap political display. Let us put the country first, always.

THE SPIRIT OF DISORDER IS TOO STRONG FOR PATRIOTIC FRONT TO OVERCOME

THE SPIRIT OF DISORDER IS TOO STRONG FOR PATRIOTIC FRONT TO OVERCOME

When viewed from the standpoint of recent events in the Tonse Alliance, it would be an understatement to say the Patriotic Front (PF) is experiencing internal wrangles. The truth is that this political party is possessed by the spirit of disorder. Disorderly conduct is so pervasive in the ranks of the PF that it was inevitable that they would import it into the Tonse Alliance.

It is now clear that even the infamous violence of PF cadres during the party’s reign under the late President Edgar Lungu, was simply a physical manifestation of the disorder that was the soul of this party. Hence, the resounding rejection of the PF by Zambian voters in the 2026 elections.

Strangely, the grand illusion of some PF leaders is that somehow, because the United Party for National Development (UPND), which formed governnent in 2021, has failed so miserably in delivering on its promises of good governance,  equity, and improved economic conditions, this has made Zambians forgive and forget the PF sins of violence. There is very little that the PF has done in the last four years to make itself an attractive political entity.

What has compounded this PF illusion is the love and respect directed towards the late President Edgar Lungu, as people have, with hindsight, understood how well he performed as President under difficult conditions which have confounded his successor Hakainde Hichilema. In fact, the more Hichilema has tried to vilify him, both while he was alive and now in his death, the more Zambians have compared the two leaders, and find increasingly that Lungu talked less and built more infrastructure, and made decisions to benefit the poor, while Hichilema makes bombastic speeches and, in four years, cannot point to any significant infrastructure projects, except the embarrassing out-houses (stand-alone toilets in Kitwe).

It was the resurgence of Edgar Lungu’s reputation, and sympathy over his ill-treatment by Hichilema’s government, that actually made the UPND government squander the last four years on trying to stamp him into the ground, quite literally, while neglecting attending to serious economic hardships into which their government has driven Zambians in the last four years.

There are two critical outcomes from all this. With Edgar Lungu now late, the juggernaut of his credible return to power has run aground, denying the opposition, and Zambians disappointed with UPND misrule, a national figure to rally behind.

Secondly, PF disorder has erupted once again in its most sordid leadership display. Forget about the UPND hand in PF wrangles. Even on their own, the PF, apart from its claim of being the largest opposition, is once again contending for the prize of being the least attractive political party on the scene.

With what Zambians have just learnt from former Political Advisor to late President Lungu, Chris Zumani Zimba, Dr James Musonda’s advice becomes more compelling: Zambians should look beyond the PF for redemption from alleged UPND misrule.

Here is what we have learnt from Dr Chris Zumani Zimba:

1. Tonse Alliance was formed as a vehicle for ECL comeback, being the only one with sufficient political  gravitas to unseat underperforming, over-talking Hichilema. Hence the Tonse constitution designated him Chairman and official candidate for the alliance in 2026.

2. The Anchor Party of the Tonse Alliance is stated in the constitution as “ECL Patriotic Front Movement”not Patriotic Front Party. The Patriotic Front party is, legally-speaking, in the hands of UPND stooge Robert Chabinga.

3. Given Lubinda is, constitutionally, not supposed to be Acting Tonse Alliance Chairman. This was delegated to him by ECL because Vice Chairman Danny Pule, who should have taken over automatically, was away in India at the time. Lubinda is simply clinging to it, possibly because it aids him in having a credible shot at PF (faction) President.

4. Tonse member parties are right in seeking to open the contest for candidate for 2026 because ECL was not accepted as such, not because of PF but because of his personal stature. Why is PF faction in Tonse Alliance resisting, and fighting to make it a PF inheritance?
5. Sean Tembo, has more claim on the birth of the Tonse Alliance than the quarrelsome PF faction leaders, having worked on its formation and constitution with Dr Chris Zumani Zimba. He also seems to understand the Tonse Alliance constitution better than Lubinda and Raphael Nakachinda combined.

After presenting these key facts in his recent very candid television interview, Dr Chris Zumani Zimba, conceded that the PF, to which he belongs, is the reason for the current friction within the Tonse Alliance.

In short, it is the Patriotic Front DNA, the spirit of disorder, indiscipline and confusion, that is threatening to take possession of this political alliance.

This raises serious questions about the motives of the current leaders of the PF faction.

Stay tuned

WHY BRIAN MUNDUBILE MAY NOT BE ON THE BALLOT

WHY BRIAN MUNDUBILE MAY NOT BE ON THE BALLOT

The race for Plot One is heating up within the opposition, and this week’s apparent frontrunner is Hon. Brian Mundubile, Member of Parliament for Mporokoso Constituency. His rising prominence has been attributed to strategic manoeuvres aimed at consolidating support among Members of Parliament who form part of the electoral college expected to influence the internal party nomination process.

Sources within the party indicate that Hon. Mundubile has also managed to gain the sympathy of several Provincial Chairpersons, who are reportedly mobilizing support on his behalf. Each chairperson is said to have received K20,000 to facilitate local-level campaign activities in his favour — a move seen as a clear indication of his ambition and organizational reach.

However, despite this surge in political momentum, Hon. Mundubile’s path to the ballot is far from guaranteed. The biggest threat to his presidential aspirations may not come from his rivals, but from within his own camp — and perhaps, from his own past.

Insiders have disclosed that there are ongoing investigations linking Hon. Mundubile to the sponsorship of a controversial social media platform known as Munyaule Facebook Page, which was used to issue defamatory and inflammatory statements against perceived opponents. Credible sources suggest that evidence of his involvement has been secured, and the matter remains under active review by relevant authorities.

If these allegations gain traction or culminate in formal charges, Hon. Mundubile could face serious legal jeopardy — potentially even an arrest around nomination time. Such a development would not only jeopardize his candidacy but could also throw the opposition party into an administrative and electoral crisis, leaving them without a presidential contender at a critical juncture.

For now, Hon. Mundubile remains the frontrunner on paper, but his political future is clouded by uncertainty. His campaign must now navigate a delicate balance — consolidating internal support while addressing the growing shadow of controversy that threatens to derail his ambitions.

One thing is clear: as the race to State House intensifies, the Mundubile camp has a lot of thinking to do.

GOVT CASTIGATES  FRED M’MEMBE  FOR GLORIFYING MADAGASCAR COUP

GLORIFYING COUPS UNDERMINES DEMOCRACY – MWEETWA

By Justine Akakulubelwa

Chief Government Spokesperson CORNELIUS MWEETWA has called on peace-loving Zambians to reprimand Socialist Party President FRED M’MEMBE for celebrating, through his Facebook post, the military ousting of Madagascar’s President.

Mr. MWEETWA, who is also Information and Media Minister, says it is regrettable that a political leader aspiring to govern Zambia can glorify a coup, warning that such conduct undermines democracy and the rule of law.

He says Zambia remains a constitutional democracy where leadership is attained through peaceful elections, and not military takeovers.

Meanwhile, Mr. MWEETWA has condemned the lawlessness exhibited by Patriotic Front – PF members who blocked the party’s acting President GIVEN LUBINDA from featuring on a Radio Phoenix programme.

Mr. MWEETWA dismissed claims that the cadres were sponsored by the UPND, saying the incident reflected the PF’s own legacy of lawlessness.

He urged the PF to handle its internal wrangles at its secretariat and warned that such disruptions should never be allowed to recur.

TIZA MUKUKA THREATENS TO SUE NMCZ IF DANCING NURSE GETS SUSPENDED

“It Would Be Utterly Foolish and stupid to Punish her for celebrating her graduation,” Says Tiza Mukuka

Youth advocate Tiza Mukuka has warned that he will take legal action against the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) if it dares suspend Lisa Kaoma, the nurse whose graduation celebration has gone viral on social media.

“It will be absolutely stupid for the NMCZ to suspend Lisa Kaoma for simply celebrating a lifetime achievement,” Mukuka said. “In a country where so many young women drop out of school to chase sugar daddies, Lisa’s success should be celebrated, not condemned.”

He added that completing a demanding medical program is no small feat, saying, “If anything, Lisa deserves to twerk even harder because it’s not easy to survive and finish such a tough course.”

Mukuka further warned, “If any disciplinary action is taken against her, I will personally drag the NMCZ Chief Executive Officer to court. Zambia should be cheering achievers, not crucifying them.”

Chimbuya goes wrong, filmmaker demands K500,000 for being smeared with powder

Chimbuya goes wrong, filmmaker demands K500,000 for being smeared with powder

A LUSAKA filmmaker, Paul Wilo, is demanding K500,000 from fellow filmmaker Cosmas Ng’andwe, stating that he was beaten and embarrassed in public during what was supposed to be a traditional cousinship ritual called Chimbuya.

The incident happened at the Lusaka Play House, during the send-off of veteran actress Wanga Zulu, popularly known as Mai Guru.

According to a letter posted by Wilo on Facebook tagging Ng’andwe drafted by his representative, Mwenda Sibanje, the filmmaker sid Ng’andwe popularly known as ‘Logic’ and a group of others ambushed him claiming they were performing the Chimbuya ritual, a teasing tradition between Easterners and Northerners.

But Wilo said he was physically assaulted and publicly humiliated in front of people at the event and to make matters worse, the whole thing was recorded and posted on Facebook by Ng’andwe

“He has no right to subject me to a cultural practice I don’t belong to, let alone beat me and then post it online,” Wilo said.

The furious Wilo is now demanding K500,000 compensation for the pain and embarrassment he suffered, warning that if Ng’andwe does not respond, he will take the matter to court.

Lately, the chimbuya practice has sparked debates among netizens, with many questioning where the line should be drawn during funerals while others are arguing that it is harmless as it unites the two tribal cousins.

ATTACKS ON ARCHBISHOP BANDA STOPS TALKS BETWEEN LUNGU FAMILY AND GOVERNMENT

ATTACKS ON ARCHBISHOP BANDA STOPS TALKS BETWEEN LUNGU FAMILY AND GOVERNMENT

By Darius Choonya

Talks between the family of late former President Edgar Lungu and the Government of Zambia have stalled following online attacks against their chosen mediator, Archbishop Alick Banda.

In a statement, the family says certain rogue online tabloids and individuals linked to the government have launched malicious attacks against Archbishop Banda—branding him a criminal and subjecting him to public ridicule and contempt.

The family has stated that such actions have seriously undermined the trust necessary for the success of the mediation process.

They have also raised concerns about the sincerity and coordination of efforts by some government representatives.

Despite the setback, the Lungu family has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the late president is laid to rest in a manner that upholds his dignity and final wishes.

Mr. Lungu passed away on June 5, 2025, and the issue of his burial site remains unresolved.

Both parties had recently agreed to resume talks before the latest developments disrupted the process.

BRIAN MUNDUBILE CONDEMNS POLITICAL VIOLENCE AGAINST GIVEN LUBINDA AT PHOENIX FM & DENIES RIFT BETWEEN PF PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFULS

By Lukundo Nankamba

Patriotic Front-PF Central Committee Member Brian Mundubile has strongly condemned political violence and distanced himself from the disruption of Phoenix FM’s “Let The People Talk” programme by suspected political cadres yesterday.

Speaking to the media in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Mundubile described the incident as unfortunate, particularly the suggestion that he had sent cadres to interfere with a programme involving a party colleague.

The PF 2026 presidential aspirant says that while challenges within political parties are expected, violence has no place in Zambia’s political space while condemning anyone who may have provided resources to fund the disruption.

Mr. Mundubile has also dismissed rumors of tensions between himself and the party’s Acting President, Given Lubinda, stressing that his immediate focus remains national crisis management, not internal party conflicts.

He has assured the public that he and all other PF presidential aspirants maintain a good working relationship, signaling a unified party despite the ongoing contest for the presidency.

THE LUNGU FAMILY TORMENTING ECL WITH OVER 4 MONTHS BURIAL DELAYS

By: Thomas Afroman Mwale

Governance activist Wesly Miyanda has appealed to the family of late former president Edgar Lungu to amicably resolve the ongoing legal dispute surrounding his burial, describing the prolonged process as tormenting to the former head of state, whose body has remained in the mortuary for over four months.

Speaking in an interview with Sun FM TV News, Mr. Miyanda said continued appeals against earlier court rulings have negatively affected Zambia’s international image.

He stated that many citizens wish to see the sixth Republican president repatriated and buried with dignity in Zambia.

Mr. Miyanda commended government for its continued engagement with the Lungu family, noting that the UPND administration has demonstrated leadership in its efforts to ensure the late president is laid to rest in a manner befitting his former office.

He urged both parties to reach a resolution without further legal delays, warning that extended court proceedings only deepen national distress.

NDOLA AIRPORT SECURITY MANAGER FIRED FOR AIDING FOREIGNERS IN FAILED SMUGGLING ATTEMPT OF SINO METALS DAM SAMPLES

A Security Manager at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola has been dismissed after allegedly aiding two foreign nationals in an attempt to smuggle a 25-kilogram bag of samples taken from the collapsed dam at Sino Metals Zambia Limited.

The officer, identified as Sabelo Simwambana, aged 38, was reportedly paid K30,000 by the foreigners, who claimed the samples were being exported for “further analysis abroad.”

According to sources, the cargo had already been cleared and loaded onto the aircraft after Simwambana instructed his subordinates at the scanners to allow it through without inspection. However, one vigilant officer manning the scanners grew suspicious and alerted Office of the President (OP) officials, who swiftly intervened.

The intelligence officers tracked the cargo to the plane, where it was offloaded for inspection. Inside the suitcase, they discovered several smaller plastic bags filled with what appeared to be mineral samples, all packed into one large sack.

When questioned, Simwambana admitted to receiving money from one of the foreigners, identified as Robert Maqueen, a U.S. national and the owner of the cargo. Maqueen, however, refused to cooperate with investigators and instead referred all inquiries to the U.S. Embassy.

Simwambana has since been terminated from his position, while investigations into the matter continue.

Israel’s Ambassador to Zambia, Ofra Farhi, has downplayed criticism of the re-opening of the Israeli embassy in Lusaka, saying those opposed to the move represent a small minority and that renewed diplomatic ties will yield tangible benefits for both countries.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Ms. Farhi says the revitalized relationship presents opportunities for economic cooperation, knowledge transfer, and technical assistance in key sectors such as health and energy, which could help address some of Zambia’s pressing challenges.

She has urged stakeholders to adopt a forward-looking approach, noting that many nations maintain diplomatic links even amid regional tensions, highlighting tourism and religious pilgrimage as important avenues for strengthening people-to-people and commercial exchanges.
.

The Ambassador has further stated that the existing ceasefire in the middle east provides space for deeper engagement and multilateral collaboration, further encouraging Zambian institutions and the private sector to pursue practical, mutually beneficial projects within the renewed diplomatic framework.

Ms. Farhi has expressed optimism that, drawing from Israel’s resilience during the two-year Gaza conflict, Zambia and Israel can collaborate on economically viable ventures and climate resilience initiatives suited to Zambia’s unpredictable weather patterns.

On September 4, 2025, the Lusaka magistrates’ court convicted and sentenced former Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba to three years’ imprisonment with hard labour, while former Foreign Affairs Minister Joe Malanji received a four-year sentence on seven corruption-related charges. five days later, with President Hakainde Hichilema publicly declaring an active role in the matter.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Mataliro says while judicial independence is not determined by political statements, public confidence in the justice system can be undermined when high-profile figures appear to comment on active investigations or claim a role in securing evidence and witnesses.

He notes that such perceptions are particularly damaging when cases are still before the courts, as they are difficult to dispel once established, despite courts making decisions based on facts and the law.

He has further warned that political commentary on ongoing cases risks shaping public expectations about verdicts and undermining the appearance of judicial impartiality.

Lisa Kaoma, the nurse who went viral after posting a video of herself reciting Kanye West’s Good Morning lyrics containing  offensive language has apologized for her actions.

“If there’s anyone who has truly suffered to get through school, it’s me. Just getting the paper was a battle,” Kaoma said. “Nalichula sana ine, forgive me. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I was just happy my parents were happy so I posted the videos.”

Kaoma’s celebratory post, shared shortly after her graduation at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, drew criticism from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia.

NMCZ registrar and chief executive officer, Beauty Zimba, said the nurse’s conduct was contrary to the standards expected in the profession.
